This is a YouTube video titled "The Hidden Downside of Taking the GRE Online" created in October 2024. The content is a monologue or informational talk by a single speaker discussing the risks associated with taking the GRE test online, particularly the increased likelihood of score cancellations by ETS due to suspected cheating. The speaker advises considering taking the test in person to avoid these issues.

Did you know that there's a hidden downside of taking the GRE online? Ever since March 2020, the GRE has been available both in person and online. Taking the test from the comfort of your home seems like a great option, right? Maybe not. Until recently, canceling a GRE score almost never happened. However, once the test moved online, ets, which is the company that offers the gre, became extremely cautious about preventing cheating. As a result, ETS cancels scores if they suspect cheating, even if they don't have any proof. What this means is that the number of people who have reported that had their test canceled, even for what seems like no reason, has skyrocketed. So if you want to make sure that all the effort that you've put into getting a great GRE score doesn't go to waste, you might want to consider taking the test in person.
