This is a YouTube video titled "Why Use the MBA to Reflect on Your Life Path" containing a motivational and advisory talk recorded in January 2025. The speaker discusses the MBA application process as a meaningful opportunity for self-reflection, career evaluation, and personal growth, encouraging viewers to consider their professional goals and legacy to strengthen their applications and life direction.
Applying to an MBA is so much more than writing essays, taking tests, and completing interviews. If you do it right, it's actually an incredible process of self reflection that could change the course of your entire life. To put together a strong application, you need to sell yourself really well and have crystal clear professional goals. However, in your day to day so far, you probably haven't had a lot of time to reflect. So instead of rushing to write your essays, take some time to reflect on the career that you've had so far, what you liked and disliked about it, and where you want to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. I also think it's really important to think about the impact and the legacy that you want to leave behind. The application is also a great opportunity to reflect on your past wins. A lot of clients I work with start out with imposter syndrome and only throughout the process realize that they have a really strong personal brand and a lot of stories that they're proud of. They just forgot about them. By using the MBA application process as kind of a checkpoint in your life, you'll send a stronger application, but you'll also be setting yourself up for a hopefully more mindful and happier life.
