How She Went From Hospitality to $11,500/Month in Remote Sales

Annemarie went from Canadian waitress to closing $11,500 in a month through remote sales. She overcame the belief that sales is pushy and masculine by learning that everyday conversation is already a sales skill. Intensive practice, role-plays, and community support got her there in four weeks.

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. We have another case study. You know the drill by now. It is insane. I'm saying this often, but it is insane how many case studies we have at the moment. Um, so yeah, today we are joined by Annemarie, who is based in Canada. Welcome.
Thank you. I'm so excited.
So Annemarie started working with myself in October, so not a long time ago at all. At the time, she was weight interesting. And she knew she had so much more potential, and she was really just kind of in her comfort zone, just comfortable with the day in, day out. She knew what she was getting. And I know so many women can relate to that, even myself, especially with nannying. It was easy, it was reliable, I knew what I was doing. And I think sometimes that's very hard to be able to break free from, um, and it can be quite scary to break free from. Anne-Marie has always clearly had that fire. She always showed up to coaching calls, always asked questions, constantly trying to develop, constantly trying to do more and learn more. And that mindset has very, very much paid off. I know this case study will resonate with so many women who want more, who know they're capable of more, but maybe feel a little bit lost as to what that could look like. Annemarie has absolutely killed it. She's gone on to achieve her record month of $11.5K in high-ticket sales as a top-performing closer and has recently just landed her free trip to Colombia from the sales company after being in the company— was it like 2 months, Annemarie? Yes, it's crazy. Same. So I'm really excited to sit down today and get Annemarie to share her story with you all. So let's get into it. I'd love for you just to take us back, first things first, before sales What was life like?
So I was working as a waitress probably for like the 3 years before I started in sales. And when I very first started in waitressing, I was like, oh my God, the money was really good. It was summertime. And then, you know, like I realized how seasonal it was and then I would have months where, you know, literally nothing would be happening. I'd work like twice a week. And I think it was just before I started working with you. I was so unfulfilled. I was like, I'm just getting by. And I knew I wasn't reaching my potential. I knew I was just like, comfortable, which I say all the time to my prospects is like, that's literally the worst place that you can be is in your comfort zone because you're just coasting. Like you have nothing pulling you, you have no polarity in your life. Like, so yeah, I was just feeling so unfulfilled and finally I realized there was that day and I was like, I can't do this anymore. And then I found you online and I was like, I believe I watched your stuff for like 2 days. I watched the recording of one of your sales calls because everybody's like talking about sales, but nobody's really demonstrating like how it's done. And I watched you. Actually in action in one of your sales calls. And I literally like immediately just booked a call and I was like, yeah, take my money.
Funny. I love that. So it was just kind of feeling fed up in your current situation and then seeing what it really takes and what that would look like to just kind of light that fire in you almost.
Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, because a lot of people are like talking a lot of stuff in the high ticket space and people are talking about how you execute these tools and skills, but I wasn't actually seeing it all the way through. And then I saw you your energy on this call with this couple. And it was just like so easy. I mean, obviously now that I'm in sales, I'm like, oh my God, there's so much that goes into making it seem like it's so graceful and easy. But, you know, I saw you doing it and I was like, it looks so easy. Like, I can do that, you know? And there's a lot— like I said, there's so much that goes into making it look easy. But I just liked your energy and stuff like that. So I was like, okay, let's go. I love that.
Amazing. And do you feel you had any misconceptions coming into the sales space? Because I know a lot of people think sales is sleazy, sales is pushy, sales is masculine. Like, what was your perspective on coming into it?
Yeah, so I mean, so many things. Like, so before I was waitressing, I had my own coaching, my own coaching business online, and I was doing everything, you know. And even with that, I had a lot of success in a really short period of time. And I had hired somebody to teach me how to do sales in that, and I hated everything about it. Like it was so masculine, so direct, and so like just cringe, all of it. Like, don't get me wrong, there's definitely uncomfortable points in the conversation in terms of sales that you have to be able to sit in, and it's really, really uncomfortable. But this one was very— it was just, it felt so unaligned. And I think it because it was so pushy, and also like it was very like shaming people into making change, you know. And so I hated that. So I was really hesitant to kind of get back into it because I was like, I hated it so much at that point. Um, but then I saw how you did it and it was totally different. So yeah, my misconception was like how it needs to be so forceful and like, like, yeah, shameful. But that's not how it is at all. It's really like coming from this feminine energy you talk about is like empowering somebody to decide to completely transform their lives, you know? And it's something that I've done many times before.
So yeah, totally. I think empowerment is the biggest thing. That is why we're sitting here, because you have empowered not only yourself, but then others now to make changes. So it is crazy, isn't it, how I think for so long the industry was built on that, but I just don't think that's possible anymore. Like, I just think the industry, the market, general public don't want to feel shame. Like, there has been that kind of movement where people want to feel empowered and comfortable, which I think then settling in your feminine energy brings that, would you say? Would you say you felt that with the people that you're speaking to?
Yeah, I would say, I would say I have a lot of masculine energy within me. I think that's why I have a lot of success. So for me, it's actually learning how to drop more into the feminine energy, which is why I really wanted to work with you, because I can be quite masculine in my approach. Um, but I think dropping into your feminine energy allows the conversation to go in a completely different way that you would never ever ever be able to get to, which is where ultimately the transformation actually happens. Because you have to create the awareness with the prospect of what their current situation is and how they really aren't happy with it and how they have the power to change it. So you can't get to that place being in a masculine forceful energy. Nobody's gonna to you.
100%. I couldn't agree more. And like you said, you were, you had a business a few years ago and then you went into waitressing. Both transferable skills in my eyes. And I actually was speaking to, um, a girl earlier who's looking to join the program and her main fear was, well, I have no quote unquote sales experience in high ticket, like how will I be good at this? So what's your perspective on bringing those transferable skills into this industry?
I think it's so funny when people are like, I have no sales skills. It's like you've been selling since the day you were born. Like everybody is. Like you want to go to a certain movie with your friends, you're selling your friends on it. You want to go for dinner to somewhere, you got to sell your friends on it. You want something for Christmas from your parents when you were younger, you got to sell them on the idea of it. Like everybody's in sales all day long. And the fact that you think that you're not in sales is kind of funny because the world runs on sales. To get in, to get even the job that you had right now that you're miserable and you hate, you had to sell yourself into that role. So all of your skills are sales skills. It really just comes down to communication and how you're being able to communicate that. And I, since working with you and also like my mentor, he's really, really involved in our stuff, or my, not my mentor, my sales manager. I think sales almost comes from questions. You know, like it doesn't come from like the active nature of selling. And I think as women, we have this natural tendency to talk a lot to each other, to understand each other a lot. So every skill is transferable into sales, everything.
I couldn't agree more, especially when you said like women love to talk, women love to communicate, women love to understand. Like, so maybe to a fault, I'll say I've had my moments. You know, we need to know, we want to know the information, we want to be told. And sometimes we don't always need to be told. But that's the point, isn't it? We're curious by nature, and that is in itself the number one, in my opinion, transferable skill that allows success here.
And I think too, like, sales is, is really nice because it just allows you to be yourself, you know? Like, once you get through— like, don't get me wrong, there's times when I get caught up in like, oh, the script and what I'm supposed to say. But it's actually the reason that I had the most success last month and the reason that came so far. I was like number, like out of 15, I was like 14 on the leaderboard or maybe 15. And then I went to number 2. And the thing was that shifted for me was that I had to be myself. Like I had to stop relying on my script. I had to stop planning for the perfect sales call. I had to just trust myself. And it was really hard at first because I was like, oh my God, I'm going to say the wrong thing or I'm going to miss this question. But like when I just allowed myself to be myself and trust myself, like everything shifted. So it's you actually will make more money by just being yourself.
100%. And it's really funny because I personally think I've seen different programs and mentorships and obviously I'm going to be biased with my own, but I actually think what I teach is that's just me being myself and I've just put it into words and obviously it does work. But then you have to find your own style for it to be yourself because otherwise you're only going to get so far. So like even in trainings, the girls will say like, how do you say this? And I'm like, I just say like, 'What's going on? Like, why are you nervous? Like, I'll just be myself.' And people sometimes can't believe that that works instead of these crazy reframes that we see on Instagram, you know, that get a bunch of views. But it's true, right? You just have to be authentic and be a leader and ask questions.
And I think one of my favorite closes, it was a two-call close. I know the industry is like obsessed with these one-call closes, like I'm not there yet. I want to get more of those, like, as I'm, as I'm growing and learning. But I had the call with this girl totally off script, and we just had a really good conversation for like an hour because she was somebody who was flatlining, had no idea what her pain was, had no idea what her, like, goal was. So we talked about that for the first call, and then the second call we got on was amazing. She was basically like just ready to pay because I gave her a lot of homework and stuff like that. And I told her the price and then she was like, Oh my God. Like, okay, do I need to pay that right now? And then I literally just burst out laughing and she was laughing at the same time. I was like, yeah. And then she was like, okay. And then she paid. It was just like, it was so fun. And I was like, that's how it gets to be, you know? Like, it doesn't have to be like, yeah, give me your money. Like, you know, okay, good. Yeah, it doesn't have to be so serious. Like, it gets to be so fun. And like, even I talked to all my coworkers and they're the same, like the people who are most themselves and don't necessarily follow the script but follow their intuition. Are the ones that are at the top of the leaderboard. You know, they don't have a perfect process at all by any means. Like even I watch some of their calls and I'm like, they're not doing anything on script. And it's quite interesting because I'm like, but they're crushing it, you know?
It's building that sales EQ. I think some people have it easier than others. Others just have to learn it. But as women, we tend to have it more.
Absolutely. Yeah.
And I know you mentioned that you watched my sales call and then you just booked a call. So what was your thoughts on mentorship before? Obviously you had your own business, so I can imagine you were definitely open to investing in that. So when it came to mentorship with The Sales Space, how did you feel about embarking on that?
I find it really interesting because I'm at this point now where I've done mentorships enough that it doesn't like scare me. It's like I just see it and I just decide and I just do it like because like when I came to the awareness of like, what am I doing? I feel like I had the awareness, but I was at this place where I was like, I need to get it together. Like it's, it's time to make a change. And I knew, sure, I could go onto YouTube and like try and piece everything together, but what a waste of time. Like, I, there's no way I'd be where I am now. And there was like, just fast forward the experience, you know? So I think to answer your question in terms of like maybe somebody who's never invested in mentorship before, the first time I did, it was absolutely terrifying. I have invested in mentorships where I didn't have the money for the second payment, and I've been in cowboy mode, and I'm like, I'm gonna figure it out, and I always do. And when I came to yours, it was just the easiest decision for me because I was like, I don't even care what the price is, like, I'm just gonna do it. Um, and I just knew. So I think there's— but like, yeah, I don't know, like, even my students sometimes they're trying to like piece things together of like, oh, but I'm making X amount of money and these what my payments have to be for however long, and it's like just go, just decide, like, figure the rest out later, you know what I mean? And it's like, it's just, I don't know, I think that's, that's always been my mentality on it is like, just figure it out later, like, make the commitment and figure it out later. Sell some stuff, ask people for money, like, I don't care, like, just make it work, you know?
100%. I think there's a very common mindset with all of the top performers within the Female Sales Accelerator, and it is just do it, just take action, like, like stop wasting time. And I, and I do, I do agree. I've always been the same as well. Like when I get my mind set on something, I need it immediately. So that's why I was the same. I found a mentor, booked a call, joined the next day, started training, landed a job within 2 weeks, 3 weeks max, because it was like gonna happen. It had to happen.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's super interesting to see that kind of correlation. I'd love to know, like, how you felt myself and the program has supported you on this journey to get you here.
I think you have been like, like exactly what I needed, you know what I mean? Like, you have been there to answer like any questions that I have. And I think, um, the program itself has been super, super helpful. It gave me like a really good solid base that I could feel confident about. I think also as the role plays. That's what I was trying to think. The role plays that he recommended that we do and how active the community is. And that was hugely, hugely important for building my confidence because I remember being on calls in the very beginning, I don't know, 13 times a week to really develop and build my skills because I was like, I don't like to waste time. I just wanted to get in and work as hard as I possibly could to get on offer as fast as I could. And it crazy because I think this is, I think maybe I only applied to 2 offers in the beginning and this was like one of the first ones that I just got on. I started a spreadsheet and there was like nothing on there. I never added anything else because I just got this job and like, you know, got hired straight away. So yeah, I think my experience in the Female Sales Accelerator has just been amazing. Really, I think the biggest thing that you have taught me is like to trust myself too. And then also one of the things too, I remember I was like so scared. I was like, oh my God, what if it doesn't work out? Like I was just kind of like getting into my fear and I messaged you and you're just like, the only way that it's not gonna work out is if you quit. And I was like, oh yeah. And so that's, that has shifted everything for me. I even tell my students that I'm like, the only, like the only way that it's not gonna work is if you quit. And it's so true because yeah, there's gonna be moments and times where, you know, sales is hard. I'm pretty sure I've been on your, your sales call or your group calls before, like almost in tears or in tears. Because I'm like, it's hard. And you were like, you guys, this is why closing is hard. This is why I say start in setting because it's a lot of pressure. And it is, um, in any company, sales has the highest expectations and the most amount of pressure. Um, so yeah, I see how hungry everybody is to get into closing, but like, it's not a joke once you start because you're expected to perform. And when you're not performing, if you don't have the tools and the skills to be able to get through that, you won't make You're a lot.
Yeah, you're alone. 100%. I couldn't agree more. And how long did it take you to land a role? So you came in, no experience, to land a role. How long was that for you?
Uh, I'm pretty sure 4 weeks.
Yeah, insane. The average is 4 to 8 weeks, guys, for anyone watching. We don't mess around. And how did you find the job? Was it on the job board, or how did it—
it was so crazy. Like, I was supposed to be on this offer, and I talked to all my friends who are on the offer as well now, and Um, I got connected. Georgia posts something in the group and was like, oh, they're looking for closers, experience only. So then she connected me with this other person. I went for that one. I didn't want it. And I said, do you have anything else? And she said, yeah, I got this, this thing. It was one of my sales manager's old students. And so then she messaged it to me and it was crazy. Like, it was just so random and weird how Connection.
Yeah, 100%. And just for anyone watching this, that's just our top closers in the community networking, giving back. And I think that is the power of network. You don't just land a job within the program and then you get kicked out and we wave you goodbye. Like, we're building a community of women that you can tap into at all levels and stages. It's pretty insane, isn't it, how one conversation can 100%.
And it's crazy too, because like my offer is hiring SDRs literally all the time. It's crazy just how fast the company's growing and like, it's insane what's happening in the next little while. And you know, there's even girl, there's tons of female sales accelerator girls in the SDR team here. One of them is actually, I don't know if you know Larissa, she's the SDR manager, which is really exciting. So like just even getting into a mentorship, like let's say somebody thinks they have all the tools and skills, like getting into the mentorship, you get so much community out of it. Like connections are just insane that just keep coming and coming and coming from it.
So 100%. And I know you've mentioned that you've invested in lots of different programs and mentorships with different avenues in the past. And there's a lot of misconception online, you know, with if you just buy a course, then it's going to be this, it's going to be that, it's going to be the other. So I'd love to know what kind of support did you expect versus what you actually received? Did you expect results like this? And yeah, what's that experience been like?
Um, I think it was like a nice surprise kind of the whole way through. Like, I didn't know what I would— I, I'm not somebody who asks the details. Like, I was just like, I don't care. Like, I knew that I needed to be around you and in your circle and in your community, so Sorry, what was your question?
So has there been like an expectation difference? Like, for example, did you think you were just going to get modules and you've come in, you've got a bunch of support, or is there any support that you didn't realize you'd receive?
I think the biggest thing was probably I didn't realize how important those role plays were going to be. So the support from the community was like amazing. And then also I didn't realize like how much support I was going to get from you in terms of like coming on to practice roleplays live as well was really powerful. I think a lot of people are scared of them and so was I, but I was like, I just don't even care because I need to do it because I need to get better. And then I think as well, just like when I was in a crisis, you know, I was reaching out to you and getting help from you and so I didn't feel alone and like I could help process through things. Like I would jump on the coaching call and get the support that I needed to help me like clear my mind about, you know, because don't get me wrong, just because I started in this offer and made $10K months, it was messy. It was messy, you know, the behind the scenes of kind of what's been happening. But yeah, it was super messy like to get to this place and there's some highs and the lows are hard. So just like having your support and to remind me about like being level-headed and like just chilling out and not getting so in my emotions was very, very, very valuable in those moments.
Trusting yourself 100%. I think that is the beauty of mentorship, isn't it? It's having someone in your corner who sees what you don't see, who's been there through those turbulent times. And because there was a lot of pressure, like for everyone watching, Anne-Marie had to perform. You know, the company was growing, they were hiring closers, and it was may the best woman win on that team to make sure she stayed and to make sure she saw that success. And obviously she's now a top performing closer. So talk to us about that. You just obviously have come back from Colombia. You got a free trip there. What's that been like?
The trip was amazing. Like, it was like all of it was just so— all of it has happened so fast. Like, literally, I thought I was like, okay, if I can just replace my income in like a couple of months, like, I'll be happy. And I remember last month, actually, I even quit my waitressing job. I was like, I literally hate it. And I remember being in my shift and I was like, this is the last place I'll ever walk into. This last time I'll ever walk into this building, I was like, I just, I can't do it. And I hadn't, I didn't have the success that I had, but I was like, I'm going all in on myself. Like, I don't have a choice. So yeah, we were kind of in a pressure cooker the month, last month with everybody there. But, you know, you, I think the thing that creates the most success is like, not only do you have to be a good closer, you need to also be a good culture fit for companies. 100% to be hungry. You have to be willing to learn. You have to be able to ask questions. Like, that's one of the things I'm doing consistently nonstop is asking questions. You know, I think what you said, like being greedy about your— like selfish about your time and getting feedback. Like, I'm asking questions. We'll be on a sales call and it's like group, like question time. I'm always the first one to put my hand up, always the first one to roleplay feedback questions like, whatever, because I'm like, I don't care if anybody else is gonna be performing. I mean, I love all the people on my team, but I'm like, it's about me having success and I need to like put myself in those opportunities all the time. Even sometimes I don't have a question. I'm like, I need to ask a question. Like, that's the only way you're gonna grow and learn. So yeah, it's been, it's been really good. Like, yeah, don't get me wrong, you work really hard in this industry and I was not expecting that because I think a lot of people, like I mentioned to you before, people online, not you, I know you've always said that, but a lot of people will sell you this dream of like, I did nothing in the morning and then I have lunch and then I have a slow morning and then I start my work and I do 5 calls and then I'm done for the day. Like, that's not the situation at all. There's so much like pipeline. Like, if you want to have success and you want to be a top closer, you have to spend all this time like, you know, reviewing your calls. You need to, um, be asking questions. You gotta dial your pipeline. You need to be on top of all your students. You need to get referrals. You need to like is a lot of work, you know, and especially like at this time where we're not double booking and we will like in a few weeks from now, I think. But yeah, you work a lot, you put in, you put in the time and the people who are making a lot of money, they're very disciplined with their time, they're very disciplined with their processes and they're working a lot. So that's probably what I'd say.
What has been your biggest learning lesson? So far being in this industry, do you think?
Oh, you got to ditch the script for sure. I forget, like, I forget sometimes and then I'll have a really bad week. I'm like, what's going on? And then I realize, oh, I was so attached to my script.
Exactly. Yeah, I think it's really— I think it's person to person because I've coached people in the past. I agree there are some people who need to ditch that script because otherwise they're just so disconnected because they can't do both. And then there are other people, if they don't have a script, it's like they have no idea. So I think it depends on the person, but for you to find your selling style very quickly— and I also think it's also a happy medium because you needed a script and you needed a framework to even get to this point, but now you know yourself and your selling style, you need to be able to have kind of that those wings to fly and to really trust, would you say, trust yourself?
Yeah, I definitely think it came from the reps. And, you know, like we've been— my sales manager, he's really, really good. Like we have been training nonstop basically since I started. Nothing about that, like, or everything about the Discovery. And we haven't done anything else because it's so critical and like just the things that we're learning and the higher level that he's like taking us to over time and just like fine-tuning our skills is really important. So I think there's, there's parts where I know what I need to do. Don't get me wrong, when I'm learning like a new section of like the cost of an action or I've changed something in my process, I'll only have that up on the screen and just refer to it at that point and then move on. But again, for me, it really has— like it stopped me from being able to connect. But I think I had the foundations from all that time. Like you can't just not have a script and just wing it. You need to have a way that you're implementing and like absorbing the script into your body so that you're, you know, where you need to take the conversation, if you know what I mean.
100%. Yeah, 100%. Do you see yourself differently now, Marie, or maybe have more trust or confidence in yourself on this journey, do you think?
Um, like, yes and no. It's so funny because, you know, everybody thinks that you're going to get this 10K month and everything's magically going to change. And it's like, Nothing's changed. Like, I still feel the same. Um, do I have more confidence? 100%. Is my communication, um, just in general, like, much better? 100%. Like, I have, you know, really good conversations now with, like, my friends, and, like, it just— it helps me understand people better and ask them better questions. So I have a lot more confidence in that sense. I think I just have a lot more confidence as well because I'm actually just accessing my potential. So it's like I do have more confidence, but not really. I don't know how to explain it. It's like I feel like I'm the same. Um, yeah, but I, I feel like it's developing in me, you know. I think over time, as I get more reps in and I have more evidence for myself, you know, that I am a top closer, that's gonna build. So I have glimpses of being like, oh dang, like, that's who I am, and still moments where I feel shaky, but Overall, it's really changed my life. It's changed everything. Like, I can move again across the world. I can go travel wherever I want to travel, you know, rather than being like stuck somewhere and feeling like I have to be there.
So yeah, thanks. And I think that's the thing, right? You've, you've been on this offer for 2 months and you've been in the industry since October. So there's a lot more, a lot more time that you probably need to prove to yourself you can do 1K a month, 2K a month, 3K a month, so on and so forth. It's building that confidence. But really, when you look at it, when you actually reflect, which is why I love these case studies, a couple months ago you're working as a full-time waitress and now you have full autonomy. It's pretty wild, isn't it, to see the difference?
3 months. Like, I think you said October, but it was actually— I started with you in November.
Oh, okay. So hardly any time.
No time. No time. So It's crazy. And like, you know, our offer is growing at an insane, insane, insane rate. Like, I think last month we did $750K.
Um, so you're working for one of, like, a, one of the best companies in the space, really, with, like, it's not easy to land a role with just like, like a company like that. Typically you can get small companies, $30K, $40K, $50K. So to be working with a company making nearly a million a month It's insane.
And then what was it, $3 million by June, which is insane because I'm like, oh my God, I just got in the right opportunity at the right time. And that's where like your $30,000 or $40,000 months start coming in, you know, 100%.
It's all about network. It's all really about leveraging that. Yeah, I love to see it. I love when the plan unfolds because I know my plan works. And then when I see everyone else making it work, I'm like, 10 out of 10. What do people around you think if you share it much with people?
Um, honestly, I feel like they— so my friends that know me from the high ticket space, like when I had my coaching business before, and they're seeing me get back in it, they're like, oh my God, yes! Because like I said, I had a lot of success in that business, and I really lost my way for like 3 years because that was like traumatic, but it was really hard for me to close that business and go to waitressing. So a lot of people who know me from that space and my other coach, like friends that were coaches, they're so excited to see me back and like, oh my God, yeah, amazing. I would say I don't really share with a lot of people because they don't really understand, you know, like, like it's a, it's like a taboo. Is that the right word?
Industry? I agree.
Yeah. And so I can't say that I've shared it with like a lot of people. I think, you know, my family and friends are just like, okay, cool, whatever, like good job. But yeah, I mean, obviously like they're all happy for me and stuff, but I would say that most people don't really understand.
I agree. It can be quite isolating, which I think goes back to community, right? Or even a lot of people don't realize because people think, oh, well, if you work remotely, like you're going to be isolated, but you have a whole team, you have regular team meetings, you're going on team trips. Were you surprised to know that, that there's like such a strong culture in these offers?
Yeah, it's crazy. I have literally never seen the type of culture that I'm experiencing right now on this offer. It's insane. Like, literally, I don't know if it's everywhere in the industry or just this offer, but they want you to level up in like every area of your life and they're calling for the highest version of you and they spec they expect so much of you because everybody who's in this industry, especially in sales, is such a high performer. Like, you don't get into this to have an average life. Like, you have to be the top 1% to have success. Like, don't get me wrong, there's people on my offer that aren't as hungry as me, but like, you're— I don't know, you're just not really gonna like get as much as you can. Like, sure, you can replace your average salary and have that, but I feel like most of the people, when we meet each other and we connect, we're Oh my God, like we finally understand each other and you find people who are just moving at the same speed as you because it moves really, really fast, this industry.
Yeah, I think that's something that I didn't expect either, is you really do find your— where you belong. Like I felt lost for so long, I don't know about you, and no one understood and I felt like I was all talk and no one got it. Everyone just thought I was a dreamer and then you connect with these like-minded people, specifically like-minded women, and it's like, you get me. Like, I don't have to dull myself down or hold things in. Like, you just get it. It's pretty cool.
Yeah, no, it's really good. And like, you know, I've had some of the best relationships that I've formed. Millie is on— she's from Female Sales Accelerator, and her and I are like this, you know, we talk on the phone like 10 times a day. Yeah, because it's like, you know, you just, you just understand and it's like you can't have these conversations with people because I don't know, people just don't understand the industry. And so yeah, it's been so nice having that culture and having those relationships that fit it. It's, it's, it's crazy.
Yeah, 100%. If someone would have told you back in November this is where you'd be so soon on the 11th of Feb, would you have believed them or would that have surprised you?
No, never would have believed them. I would have been like, yeah, okay, whatever. I think I even messaged you. I was like, Shelley, we need to have like a female sales accelerator retreat. And the next day my company like told me, oh, we're going on a company retreat. And I was like, oh my God, I couldn't believe it. Like, it's, it's crazy. Okay. Like, you know, I was like, okay, well hopefully I can get to like $10K months in 6 months after being on my offer. And then, you know what happened? Like, now I'm like, oh, what am I going to do? Like, $20K. Now I'm like, okay, let's get $15K, $20K, $30K, and $40K. Like, that's crazy, you know?
So 100%, it's insane. I try and dull expectations down. I know it's possible. I know many women achieve $10K months in a couple of months, but I never want to set that bar so high. So I'm like, no, it's not going to happen. Your dream dreaming about it too soon. Think of it in 6 months. But it really is possible, right? Like, it, it can happen. You've just gotta— we have the right training, be on the right vehicle, work hard, apply yourself, don't quit, and it's yours.
100%. And I think what you told me too, because I was like, where did you get to a point where you were really like confident in your skills? And you were like, 6 months. And I was like, oh my God, 6 months. I was like, but that's not really that much. Like, so I feel like I work a lot of hours right now. I think over time as my skills get better, I'll be able to work less because you don't have to take as many calls. Whereas right now my close rate is not the best. Like, let's be honest, I'm still new, but it's like I have to take the volume. Whereas over time, you know, as my close rate increases and stuff, either I'll be making a lot more money and still working the same hours, or I'll be able to work a little bit less because my close rate is a lot higher.
Um, makes sense.
So Yeah, we'll see.
But, and that's where the magic happens. And that will happen, I promise you, because that's where at the moment you're in hustle phase. You're working all the hours under the sun, you're getting rewarded, don't get me wrong, so it's great, but you're working a lot. You're probably living, breathing sales, and that's going to be the case probably for around the next 6 months. And then there's going to be a switch, and that is when, like, when I was earning— and I don't like to sell a dream, but I'm just being honest— when I was earning 20, 30, nearly 40K a month, I was working less than when I was making 6, 7, 8 because something switches and there's multiple variables to that. And then you get your life back and that's when it's like, whoa, like that's like a year transformation, I'd say, when life gets good.
Yeah. And like, you know, I'm not, I'm not afraid of that. And also I'm like, okay, cool, I can, I can do that. And that's crazy. I was like, that's crazy money. Like, that's crazy money. Like, that'll literally change your life. I just want to funnel and invest all of that, you know, in the future. And just so everything grows like exponentially. But yeah, it's, it's crazy. Like, you, you get into this industry and you will have success if you're so hungry and you're willing to face all of your fears and have extreme courage to do everything that's uncomfortable. And I think too, you know, when people are coming on group calls, they're too scared to speak up. It's How can you ask a prospect to step into their fears of investing when you're on another offer if you're not even willing to stand in the face of your fear and getting on a call to, to speak in front of people? Like, it's not fair, you know? So it calls you into being the best version of yourself, I think.
100%. Couldn't agree more. What are your goals from here, Annemarie? Obviously, we're in a new year, 2026. What do you want to achieve?
That's crazy. You know, like I haven't even honestly thought about it. I haven't even lifted my head up to take a look at the year. I feel like my, like I have obviously like my personal goals with like fitness and things like that. So that's a big priority to me right now. And I would say, yeah, like I honestly haven't even really thought about it. I just was like, let's get in and just do as much as I can. I would say my goals would be, you know, getting to like $30,000, $40,000 months this year. Like I think that's realistic, which is crazy. I think I can do it and just to be the best closer that I can be and like just feeling like the best version of myself, you know, reaching my potential or feeling like I'm living up to it. And I think that's gonna come through getting better in my career. Like that's a big thing for me. So yeah.
You heard it here first. We'll be back here when you get your 30, 40K months. We'll have an in-person event by then. So we'll be doing it.
Yeah, it's like literally, I like, it's crazy. Like, you know, they talk about these numbers and it's kind of like coming back to the version that you're feeling like today. Just imagine you're that version of yourself making $30,000, $40,000 months. It's not like you need to change who you are by any means. It's like you just, you will have the money and it feels so like, okay, like it kind of feels laughable. You're like, okay, cool. Like we got here. I don't know how that happened, but Yeah, like it's just, it's, it's so cool.
I think it's like, like you said, you got here, you don't know how it happened, but actually, and because, and your head, like you said, you haven't even lifted your head up right now, and that's totally how it should be. But at some point that you should 100% stop and smell those roses and actually think, what have I just done? And you'll probably feel overwhelmed with emotion and everything, but just really understand. And that's why I love these case studies, because it kind of allows you to sit in the celebration.
Yeah.
Oh, what you've achieved.
Yeah, I think for me too, because it was like, also I had my business. I think the pattern for me, because like I made money in that, it was good, you know. When I quit and I started waitressing again, it was like, okay, can I do it again? And I still have that, okay, last month I made, you know, 11 and a can I make that again this month? But more, you know, and so I'm even still at this place where I'm like, oh my God, we had basically a week off. They still want us to hit $1 million a month. I don't know how we're gonna do that. Can I do it? And then I'm like, just stop the noise, just stop the noise, just do what you do, show up every day. Yeah, you know, so I think, yeah, it's just, it's there. I think there's always that element of like, can you do it again? Is it even possible? I guess it's like doubt maybe, or Yeah, 100%.
Just lack of proof of concept. Give it 3, 4 months of consistency. You'll be like, that's just the bare minimum. Like you won't even look at your commission tracker. I know it sounds a bit arrogant, but it's just true. Honestly, you'll be like, that's what I'm doing this month. Like, that's the baseline. And you've just got to prove to yourself that that's your baseline, essentially.
Yeah. And it's so cool too, because to get there when you do it from like a really heart-centered place and wanting people to see their transformation, like I feel really good about making that money because I'm like, I've really helped these people step into and like, for me, the sales call is the most transformational moment in your life because, you know, as much as you sit in the pain with them, it's like I like to always remind them like, hey, we're sitting here in this conversation, like you are saying with this celebration, it's like we're sitting here in this conversation, like, are you going to make the decision that's going to completely change the trajectory of your life right here, right now?
Yeah, 100%. It's so empowering.
Yeah. And so it's really cool, you know, like sometimes I just want to like come through the screen and like shake people. I'm like, just do it. Like, just do it. What are you waiting for? You know, because it's like that. It's like just your entire reality is waiting for you, but you have to be willing to go into the blackness, which is the unknown. And when you get into that space, your mind can't figure out what's on the other side because you've never done it before. You've never had it before. So to be able to do that, it's like you say, you have to be willing to do what you've never done to have what you've never had.
100%. I love that. I'd say let's end it there. Let's wrap it up there. That's been insane. If there's a woman watching this and they're sitting on the fence and they've got that fear and uncertainty, what advice would you give to them?
Like, go and look at yourself in the mirror and literally laugh about what's possible. Like, get get in good energy about it, you know what I mean? Like when I, when I make big investments like this, it makes me giddy and it makes me laugh because I'm like, this is crazy, you know? Like, this is crazy. Like, what am I doing making this decision? But it's like your entire life and so much more than you ever imagined is on the other side. Like getting on this offer, I never would have thought I'd be going to Columbia to meet all of my like coworkers in person. And that's just the beginning. They have like 2 retreats every year. Like, are you kidding me right now? You know, like, that's not even something I conceptualize. So it's like, give yourself that chance, give yourself that opportunity. Like, why are you waiting? You know? And then people are like so logical about it. Well, I don't have the money, I don't have this, and I don't have that. We'll figure out a way to make it work, you know? Sell some things, get a second job. Like, I don't care. Like, just make it work. Like, why stay where you are? It makes no sense. You know? Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
I agree. I actually did a story post the other day after I posted a bunch of testimonials and I said, what's holding you back? And all of them, all of them bar one actually was money.
Make it work. But yeah, that's one thing that, you know, like my sales manager says, one of the greatest things and it's so true, like there's two kinds of people in the world. There's the kind of people that wait for all of their circumstances and the stars to align and a certain date for them to happen. Before they can move forward and make progress. And then there's the other kind of person who, despite their circumstances, find a way to move forward and find a way to make it work. So like, which one do you think is going to move you further away from your goals?
You know, 100%. Annemarie, thank you so much for joining me today. This has been such an inspiration. Your journey is incredible. I know you're going to inspire so many women. I'm I'm so genuinely happy for you, um, and I can't wait to continue working together to see where this industry takes you. So yeah, thank you for joining.
Thank you so much for having me. It's been such a pleasure.
Of course. And you know what to do, guys. If you're watching this and you've been sitting on the fence, there's going to be a link in the bio. You can fill out the application, book a call, and we can have a chat to see if this industry is right for you. And if not, I'll see you in the next one.
Bye!
