She Left Retail and Built a $10K/Month Career in Remote Sales

Katherine left her retail management job in London after burnout and built a $10K/month remote sales career through Shelley's Female Sales Accelerator. She credits weekly community calls, role-plays, and one-on-one mentorship for the confidence to close high-value deals and quit retail within months.

Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. We have an exciting case study coming your way today. We are joined by Katherine, who is based in the UK. Hi Katherine.
Hey Shelley, how you doing?
Doing good, doing good. So I started working with Katherine around last summer, um, at the time she was working in management in like a premium retail store in London. I remember speaking to Catherine, and at the time she was genuinely so burnt out from her role. And I remember sitting on our one-on-one call together, and she was just like, I need to make a change. And she really did. She came in, she dived headfirst, and really did give this her 100%. We worked really closely together, actually, Catherine and I, as she was learning the skill and transforming her life, really, and working her way out of her role, which enabled her to her job pretty quickly and go full-time in sales. Katherine really did show up, ask all the questions, and never ever took no for an answer. This case study is going to resonate with so many women who did what they were supposed to do, who went to uni, who worked their way up the corporate ladder, but knew deep down that it wasn't for them and they didn't feel fulfilled living their dream life. Katherine has absolutely killed it. She's making consistent 10K months in sales and is possibly looking to relocate outside of the UK as well with her partner. I'm really excited to sit down with Katherine today and share her journey. So, let's get into it. I'd love for you to take us back before sales. Like, what was life like? I know we were just chatting briefly, but you went to uni, You didn't show up for your graduation. So tell us your mindset. How did you get to here? Yeah, yeah.
So I mean, gosh, I think, you know, if I was like, to be honest, I think, 'cause I used to watch like a lot of like, you know, I'd see these like self-help things, like when I was like 18, 19, you know, YouTube was kind of becoming a bit of a thing. And I do think I remember like briefly seeing something about high-ticket sales and, You know, you think, well, that's kind of interesting. But the minute people start talking about what you think at the time are silly numbers, you just go, oh, scam, lovely, thank you, put that to the side and let me go on my safe kind of journey. So yeah, like I definitely did. I was like, okay, like I need to put all my effort into getting to university. If I don't get in, it's gonna be the end of the world. Got in and kind of gave myself a big pat on the back. Spent the next kind of four years, you know, working at the same time, studying at the same time. Like really, you know, trying to fit in the gym, do this, do that, thinking, okay, this is going to make me happy. Like yes, it's the slog now. Yes, you're feeling burnt out. You're feeling tired. Okay, maybe you're starting to become a bit disillusioned, but like let's just keep going. And I think by the time I actually graduated and I got my certification, I was just a bit like. I don't know if what I've really learned here, if I have to be totally honest, was not something I couldn't have just learned by being in the industry or watching a video online or doing this or doing that or doing the next thing. And did it really need to take— I'm not necessarily saying it wasn't valuable, but did it need to take 4 years, you know, when there's a lot of filler in there? And so I remember graduating, and I do remember like other people around me kind of being like, oh yes, like graduation, and like, have you got your gown and your hat and your this and your that? My family's coming up. And I was like, you know, this will sound really harsh because everybody's got like a different relationship to university, I think. And I'm never going to like discredit somebody else's. You know, if that feels like an achievement to you, like, fantastic. Like, I'm definitely not going to say anything like— But just to me personally, I really felt aware that I was like, I don't feel like I have any financial skills, you know. I don't really have any kind of real-world experience yet. I mean, yes, I've had jobs and I've done various internships in London, but like, you know, when you're working for free, you just get the shit job, so it's not really any kind of value there. And yeah, I just kind of felt like I was like getting like left to go into the world, and I was like, I don't really feel prepared at all now, and now I've got to kind of make it work and see what's what. And Yeah, I just, I didn't go to my graduation because I was like, for me, it just feels like something's wrong, you know.
Interesting. So, so from there, you just graduated uni. What happened next? Obviously, you got into your, into your retail job. Like, how did you feel about, about that role and, and kind of your day-to-day there?
Yeah, well, I, so yeah, I got back, I was like, well, let me move back to London. Let me just get in a retail job, something that I know super well, and, you know, just something to earn a bit of money and get own place and stuff. And so I moved down and, um, and then yeah, you, you quickly kind of— when you go somewhere that's like, you know, if you're doing like a 9 to 5, 9 to 6, you spend all day every day there, you know. Um, then you're doing a little bit of overtime plus your commute time, and very quickly you realize— and I, I reckon it's probably the same for anyone, any industry— your workplace becomes your little bubble.
Mm.
And it's, it's, it's It's like when you're kind of thinking like, what's going to benefit me, my growth, my aspirations, what I can achieve, the ceiling is like what's possible in that company, you know, in that industry. And it is difficult to kind of take a step out and be like, oh, but you could get into finance, or you could do this, you could do the next thing, because you have no idea what these other things look like. And so you just feel overwhelmed. You're like, oh my goodness, like, what if I step in, I don't like it? And, you know, now obviously in industry we would call that the fear. You know, fear of like looking outside of obviously what you're, you're kind of doing. Um, but yeah, so just thought, well, I'll climb the ladder, you know, and I'll, I'll spend the next few years doing that. And I definitely did. And, um, but yeah, again, like you've become quickly disillusioned again with like working for somebody else, you know. It's, um, it's, it's— yes, you can grow, and yeah, every promotion you start earning a little bit more money, and that's always quite nice. And, you know, you can start kind of taking holidays you couldn't Um, but it's— you are still kind of getting moved around a little bit like a chip on a board, you know? And I, I could feel that happening, and I was like, yeah, I don't know if this is for me either, you know? Yeah, 100%.
And I know we spoke about you feeling, feeling like really, really burnt out. So what was like, like, not the breaking point because you don't have to go into detail, but what was the trigger for you that made you realize, okay, this is— I'm so burnt out in this job, I I need to find something else. I need it to—
yeah, let's all connect. Yeah, 100%. Um, gosh, I think it was like a long time coming. Like, sometimes you are so— you're in survival mode for so long, you don't realize you're actually at breaking point until it comes around. You're never in a, if one more thing happens, like, it's over, it's done. But sometimes, yeah, like for me, you, you see maybe like certain behaviors or certain reactions to things or way things are managed or And you maybe hear something from one person, another from another manager, and you start to realize, ah, okay, like, I'm kind of getting told what is gonna make me do whatever, regardless of whether it's, like, true, you know? And there were certain situations that kept bubbling up, and then there was just, like, one kind of conversation that had happened, and I could just feel the light behind my eyes die. I was like, Oh, that's it. You've actually just pushed me too far now. Oh, I thank you. Actually, thank you. I needed that. And the second that that happened, it was it was kind of um it was actually so freeing because I was like, you've actually this is like any connection I have to this workplace now has just been severed. Great, because I actually needed that because I honestly never would have stepped out of it had this thing not happened. And I was like. Oh, this is— I can actually feel this is a good thing. But gosh, like, now we're really stepping into the unknown. Like, we're doing it. We're just gonna like rip the Band-Aid off. And, um, yeah, I just, I just in that moment just checked out. I was like, goodbye. Okay.
And why sales? Like, were you heavily researching make money online? Like, how did you get to me?
Yeah, so I actually remember seeing a couple of like, um, because I think it's quite like a big thing in like America, but I would see the kind of videos that would pop up. And, you know, it's kind of the, you know, you too can make a million, you know, dollars and things. And you think, I need to see somebody that's like, I genuinely feel like it's not— it's like I can see the job itself and not like all the benefits because I feel like I need to kind of know what I'm getting into. And I really like the fact that on your YouTube video you actually would just like play out entire sales calls. And I was like, I'm sure she's making it look easier than it is, definitely, which is definitely true. But at the same time, I was like, yeah, you're just like speaking with a couple and kind of like walking them through what's kind of going on for them, why they want to make a change, what that change looks like, and basically, is this a solution that's actually going to fit them? And that's really what it is. It's just helping people. And, you know, I see that now with a lot of like, you know, people that you speak to is like, I see kind of myself in them where I'm like, you are really attached to this job, or you're really attached to the situation, and you're here because you want to make a change, but it's the, I just can't make the running jump out of it quite yet. And the job is really to kind of coach people. So when I saw you doing that, I was like, I love her style, I love the fact that she's from the UK, it's another woman. Like, and for me, kind of previously working in quite a male kind of dominated field, I was like, Oh my gosh, like a team of all women, like sign me up. 100%.
I love that. And that's why I post as much as I can on YouTube to show people what's possible, because I do think I agree, especially if you're watching this and you're not from America. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of US-based women in the program, but it's very talked about in the US. In the UK, in Europe, not so much. So, I think when you can see it play out and you can see actually what is the job, what do I have to do, this is actually very realistic. It's not easy, but it's possible. It almost gives you that encouragement, would you say, to just take that leap?
Yeah, well, I was like, like I said, I was like, she's definitely making it look easy and I'm sure it's not. But I do remember thinking, no, you know what, with the right training and the right dedication, I'm sure I can do that. And then, of course, you come into the space and you're like, it definitely is a lot more difficult than it looks, which is obviously why you're, you know, you're paid the big bucks. But yeah, I just remember thinking, I could see myself doing that all day. And if you're telling me that that pays like this, like, fantastic job. Okay, let's go. 100%.
I think you hit the nail on the head there with that's why you're paid the big bucks. It's so true because I think people come in and they're like, what's the catch? Like, I just want to make $10K a month online. Like, what's the catch? And I'm like, but it actually takes time to master a skill. And I think sales really is a career path that holds a mirror to your face because You can't just buy an online course and just be good at sales tomorrow. You actually have to do the role plays, do the training, take the time. Like, did you realize that coming into this, or what's been your perspective of that?
Yeah, well, I think doing retail, I'll be honest, I was like, oh, it's like a form of sales, like, you know, and it is in the sense that you get very used to dealing with like the public and people and like different personalities. But you know, when you're kind of being like this color or that color, and like yeah, this looks great with this. La la la la. And then you go from like you've had years and years and years of self-limiting beliefs, and you want to do this, but you're too afraid to do it. And I'm going to coach you through this in the space of like half an hour, forty-five minutes. You're talking about a different ball game entirely. And it's one of these things where it is so hard, especially at the beginning. And like I'm still making mistakes, and you think right okay that was a trigger word, and this. this was like not quite right and I should have walked them through this way. But yeah, you really start to like understand it and like, you know, the more you do it, the more pennies that start to drop and you go, right, you know, and different people, they need to be spoken to in different ways. And you think, oh right, oh God, that's another level to it. But you think, what an amazing skill set to have because, you know, people kind of think of it like surface level, like, oh, you're selling something to someone. And it's like, no, we're not dragging people off the street and like, you've do this thing and you don't believe in yourself kind of routine. It's like they have signed up, they filled out an application, they want to do this. But the moment that it comes to like, okay, I'm actually gonna— I'm gonna commit to this now, it— because it is, it's very— we've all done it. It's very easy to get to that point and go, oh, okay, well, you know what, let me go and do my research, let me go and ask my— let me go away and do this. And like, I have done it before, you know, and you don't realize what you're doing because you don't think of it as fear in your mind at the time.
Right.
You actually think, I'm really smart and I'm making a good decision. And, you know, um, this— I'd be wise to do this and not just jump at the first thing that I see. And actually, you realize you'll be doing research for the next 6 months because you're waiting to feel comfortable, and it's not gonna be comfortable. And people feel it and they go, oh, something must be wrong 'cause I don't feel right. Oh yeah, maybe, maybe I am. And it's like, no, no, No, no, no, no, no, no. You're just— growth happens in the uncomfortable and you need to walk their hand through that. And that is your job. And you kind of do them a disservice to let them away with it almost. But doing it in a way where they genuinely feel like, I'm ready to make this change and yes, I'm gonna let you hold my hand and let's do it together. And it is hard, but it's so rewarding.
Rewarding, 100%. I couldn't agree more. So for you, you've been able to achieve 10K months. So that's like 3, 4x your income from retail?
Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah.
How do you feel that myself and the Female Sales Accelerator have supported you to get to that place, do you think?
Oh my goodness, I mean, the word support doesn't even cut it. It's like, I would not without it. It's not like, oh, it would have taken me longer. It would not have happened, you know, quite frankly. There were times where you just think, this is not for me, I can't do it, this is so much harder than I thought. And Knowing that there was like these weekly calls that I could go into, like even if I was feeling a bit like, oh my goodness, like I've had a terrible week and you know you're gonna have them. I could go to like you know the weekly meetings and you'd see like the other girls doing well, or you'd be like, oh, there's another girl that like feels how I feel, or okay, well, do you know what? There's a new job opportunity. Like let me see if I can go for this. And you kind of you just you need that constant encouragement in the background because if nobody's there to kind of keep checking in with you, you'll just. And, you know, it's so funny because I was like, I remember like being on LinkedIn and getting messages by like other companies and being like, would you like this management position? And, you know, they start looking pretty tempting at one point.
Yeah.
And you think maybe, and then you think, no, this is like, no, we're in it. We're closed off to this now. Like, we have to make this work. And then you get there and then, you know, all the women in the community are genuinely so happy to see your success. And then that encourages them. And then you also want to do better yourself. And it's just been amazing. Thank you.
I appreciate that. Is there anything you received, you know, from myself or in the program that you didn't expect? Because I know there's a lot of misconception about online courses and this, that, and the other. And so what's your take on that?
Gosh, anything I didn't expect? No, I don't think so. I feel like, you know, honestly, when I saw you online, it's quite funny because I guess other people might feel a bit differently, but in all honesty, and maybe it was my naivety, I really did just trust you. And it was so funny because I remember even like people in my close circle being like, oh, you think some lady on the internet is gonna, you know, change your life for you? Like, good luck with that. And I was like, yeah, well, everything else hasn't worked, so, you know.
True.
Let's give it a go. You know what I mean? Like, at this point, like, let's just, you know, I don't really have anything to lose now. So yeah, when I came in and I was like, no, this makes sense. I feel like everything that I would need is here. I've got the community. I've got the one-to-one sessions. I've I've got like even all these recordings of like your sales calls and the structure and the format and why people feel a certain way. And when they say this, this is what they mean. And you know, the more you do it, the more reps, the more you really really see. Oh gosh! Like even now, I'll kind of go back to a lot of lessons, and now that I've got experience, I'll like I'll understand that in a new way, and it's still got value to me even now. And I'm like. Like, um, yeah, it's just amazing. And for me as well, I guess one thing I kind of wasn't expecting was like actual personal recommendations from you, um, because I was like, you know, it's kind of like my responsibility and that, that would have been fine if I'd like come in and like hustle. But the fact that, you know, I really genuinely felt like I could go to you when I was like, like, I'm having a tough time of it, and you would really be like, listen, like, there's this. this offer, I'm gonna put your name forward, like, you know, let's just kind of see. And then, you know, when I landed these positions, I was like, I really genuinely feel like you're actually like looking after us. Because I think that's a fear as well, like people think you're gonna step into something and then it's like, haha, like we got you, like see you later, you know. And it's definitely not been like that at all in the course. So yeah, I'm Yeah, I love that.
Thank you, I appreciate that. And how do you see yourself differently now? Because I know you've come on a huge personal journey. Even like I said, logging on to this call, we haven't spoken a little bit, and I was like, wow, yeah, you look so happy. So how do you feel compared to how you used to feel?
Ah, do you know what, like, I can breathe. Um, you know, for me, I think constantly working, the overtime, the commuting, and like, oh, you've got a day off now, no, no, no, cooking, cleaning, you know, other things. And even just going on holiday when you're trying to like fit in the planning and the booking, and it just felt like your whole life is like, go, go, go, go, go, go. And then there'll be these little blips throughout the year where you'll be on holiday, and even then people are still trying to message you with questions and you think, oh God, like, stop. Um, but no, this has been, I think just even being like remote, like removing that, like it's, it really just like is you and it's the prospect, you know, it's just, it feels like you're not dealing with 101 things. It's just one-to-one, like you and that prospect. And I think that way of working has like really calmed down my nervous system, to be honest, 'cause I'm still working hard, I'm still pushing. There's so much to learn and, you know, there's pressure in that sense. But I just feel like, I can really like hear the quiet now, you know, in my own mind, if that makes sense. And it's just what you feel like is even possible for you. Like, you don't— it's hard to admit to yourself when you see boundaries of what you can and cannot achieve, you know. And it's not necessarily something you'd even be comfortable kind of admitting to anybody, you know, never mind yourself even. But if I was to look back, I would say, yeah, definitely. Like, you even think of like 6 figures as like, oh, if you get to 6 figures, you'd be so happy. And then, you know, people doing half a million in a year and you think, oh no, that's— oh, hello now. No, that's the level, you know? And then, you know, I'm sure when you get to that level, there's people doing millions and you really do realize that like, if other people are doing it, why not you?
Yeah.
And, and that's been the biggest change is like, what do they have that you don't, you know? So it's just so exciting when you kind of think about the future now of like, if you want it, you can have it.
You just gotta put in the work and the dedication Yeah, and I think going back to what you said about when you're in a workplace, you're surrounded in a bubble, and that is your bubble, and that is your seeding. And it's so important, isn't it, to choose that bubble wisely? Because there was a bubble you were in before, how you felt, the income you're making, and so on. And you're just in another bubble now, but this time with people who are making $40K to $50K a month. And it's a huge contrast, isn't it, of just who you surround yourself with.
Yeah.
Is who you become, would you say?
Yeah, 100%. And that's the thing, this is not like a skill set in the sense that like, oh, like I want to learn French, so I'm me and I also speak French, and like, that's it. This is like you change completely yourself in this industry and the skill set, because if you're going to ask somebody, trust yourself, bet on yourself, and make the change, you need to, you know, go after the schools, it's possible for you. it doesn't work if you don't feel that way yourself.
Mm-hmm.
And so you very quickly realize, I need to be the leader in this person's life, 'cause they might never have had a leader in their life, you know, like, you know, parents or teachers or whoever's kind of come across them. 'Cause I think limiting beliefs, they, they kind of come from everyone over years and years. And then people are kind of in their, you know, 30s, 40s, 50s even, and they do not believe they are capable of something. And, you know, if you are not showing up as that leader for them, you know, what a disservice. Like, you know, you really have to, you know, show up for them in that hour. And, you know, yeah, so it's, yeah, you change personally just like so much.
I agree. Confidence and everything. I always say sales is a lifestyle, not in a negative way, and like the most And you had a really good take earlier on kind of people's thoughts when you got into the space of it not being stable. Like, why would you leave a stable job to then go and work for a job where they can quote unquote fire you at any time? So, what's your take on that?
Yeah, that's so interesting. So, you know, there was a time in my life where, yes, if you'd said to me, oh, don't worry, all your dreams are going to come true and it's commission only, whoa, like, I'm running for the hills. running for the hills. That seems ridiculous to me. How unsafe, how unstable. Like, you're gonna screw loose if you go and, like, actually investigate what that's about. But what I've, like, really kind of come to understand, and this was, like, the biggest surprise of it all, is, like, when you're kind of working in a team of people where, technically speaking, everybody's, like, a contractor and nobody's employed by anybody, and I feel like there's actually more respect because it's, like, everybody's own individual business. Coming together for one like bigger business and everybody there wants to do well. And if you're not doing well, and that's not to say like if you make a mistake, like bam, you're out the door. Like that is actually not what it's about. It's more just about if you are like a good person, you know, you're, you know, you want growth for other people and yourself, you're taking feedback, you're genuinely showing up every day. Fantastic. Like as long as they can see the progression sort of like day by day, week by week, month by month, then like fantastic. Like you'll one of the team and we're all trying to get better together. And then of course, you know, people ahead of me will be giving me feedback and then people behind me, I'll be giving feedback to them. And it's like everybody trying to lift each other up because when you've got this chain of like, okay, the prospect has just like filled out an application and now the nurture team need to speak with them and make sure that, you know, like there's like point of contact and then I need to speak with them and make sure they're all set and ready for their interview and get them like pumped up. And then you've got closers who are, you know, like, actually making sure it goes through. It's like, it's a whole system, and if somebody's not doing their part, the whole thing falls apart.
Yeah.
So, you end up, by default, only ever working with people who are motivated, who are ambitious, who want growth, who are not opposed to feedback. And as a result, you've got this, like, company culture, and it doesn't happen completely on its own. I mean, we have, like, amazing managers and amazing trainers, but You know, it's you do kind of end up with this amazing company that like you'd love working for. And I think when people kind of feel like, well, I'm employed and I'm going to get paid regardless, and they're asking a bit much of me, and you know, I just want my time back, and etc., etc. And it's like I'm not saying like you're bad to ask for your time back and stuff, but the the it's weird. The culture is completely different. Like people want to do their job and go home, and I'm not saying. that's bad. But it kind of is like on both sides, like you just want to do what you're asked of. And I think on the other employer side, it's like, and we also kind of don't care because it's just you are like a cog in this machine. And it's what I really noticed is like the relationship is like completely different because when you work somewhere where it's like like, you can fire me at any moment, but I can walk away at any moment. Okay, now we've really got respect. Now we need to come together. Now this needs to work. Now everybody kind of needs to put their best foot forward. And that, from what I've seen, that worked so much better than the other system, so to speak.
Yeah.
So, that's like the biggest thing that I noticed. And in terms of like job security, like, Yeah, there's that side of it. Like, once you really start making money, it is smart to have savings because like, yeah, okay, you might not know, but you're making enough money where that's more than possible, that's more than realistic. And then you can start spending a little if you want to. So, um, yeah, it's not going to be for everyone, but certainly for me, I was like, oh yeah, this actually makes so much more sense. Like, this is more in alignment.
And I think for myself and yourself, it becomes exciting then because when you're ambitious, you're like, well, I'm just going to push myself harder for next month, because then maybe the next month after that, I'm going to go on a 2-week vacation and I can just turn my phone off. Like, you can have that balance and you're fully in control of what that looks like, would you say?
100%, 100%. And one thing I, I kind of was thinking about the other day as well is like, when you get better, it is not now and you think like, oh, I'm ready for the next level. It's not like, okay, now I need to prove myself, now I need to do a review, or the review isn't for another 6 Oh, I need to be doing the right thing in front of the right people at the right time. And, you know, now I need to kind of play the game of corporate and the politics game and to kind of get that lift up. This is like a game where it's like, no, no, no, the minute you become better, it's immediately reflected in the numbers. And if it reflects in the numbers, it reflects in your commission. So it's actually instant that you would see that benefit come through to you.
So true.
And you're right, it just makes you want to work so hard because, I mean, you know, I do super long days. Like, there's some days where I'll do like 10, 11, 12, 13 hours a day. But you just think like another call is like another commission. Like, let's do this one, let's do that one, let's push, let's push. Like, how can I get better? Like, I'll like, you know, download all my calls and I'll like send them and I'll be like, what do you think of this? What do you think of that? Like, what can I do better next time? And, you know, it's, it's you yourself as well. Don't even associate that with like, oh, constant work, constant this, because you think, no, like, I want to get better. Because the second I kind of, I pass that threshold with maybe this like difficulty that I'm having or this situation that I always find difficult when it comes up, the minute you break through that barrier, you start making more money that very day. So it's, it's super exciting. 100%.
So for anyone thinking about getting into the space, Katherine, What has been your biggest lesson so far?
Gosh, biggest lesson. If you really want to do something and you're serious about it and you're putting in the time, you failing isn't really even a possibility because if you don't get up, if you don't give up, how can you fail? And it sort of sounds like a sort of like a nice quote to kind of put on your, you know, whatever, but it's actually really, really true. for me, the biggest thing that I've learned is like failure kind of almost like doesn't exist. It's not, you know, because it's like, oh, I might fail at this. No, you might give up is actually the better term to use, because if you don't give up, you won't fail. So it's on you. Everything is your responsibility. And that might be overwhelming, but I think it's also very freeing because it's like if you really want to make it happen, go and get it, you know. That's— there's not more to it, you know, in truth.
And what do the people around you think now you've finally achieved your goals and you're happy in the company that you're working with? Yeah, what do your family, what do your friends say?
Yeah, well, I, um, so for example, like, I've got, um, like a flatmate and she's been there from the beginning, like same with my partner. So they have seen the highs and the firsthand. So now that I'm at this point, it's like, oh my goodness, like, it's so nice to, you know, they're, they're so happy for me. And I remember my boyfriend always saying, like, I don't think it's a scam because I don't think you'd be scammed. But he was like, let's just see what this is all about. So he was kind of saying, like, I don't think you would kind of do that, but listen, let's, let's just see where this goes. And for him to now kind of see the results He's like, oh my God, like this actually did work. Like you've actually done this and like you're making this kind of money and like what a change and you know you're so much happier. And yeah, I think in some sense as well, like I've even heard people say to me like you've actually motivated me now to go and do something because I think people do kind of need a bit of proof of concept, you know, sometimes like somebody else doing it. So yeah, it's Yeah, definitely. They didn't know what it was at the beginning, but now they do.
Yeah, I actually got goosebumps when you said like, oh my God, I've done it, because it's truly it. Like, sometimes I say that to myself, so I'm like, oh my God, like, we've done it. Like, you actually came in, you invested in yourself, which was terrifying, to a stranger who you'd met online, me, and you just said, I'm just gonna do it. So that's why I love doing these case studies, because it really allows you to be like, this is what I've done. It's very cool.
Yeah, I know. I still, I still can't believe it, because when you're going through it, 6 months is a long time. And then you look back and you're like, I've done this in 6 months. I know, that's crazy. Like, what's the next 6 months gonna be like? It's just, um, it's so, it's so exciting.
If someone would have told you you would have been here today, you know, doing one of these case studies, probably you watched a couple when you started, like, would Did you believe them?
I definitely would have wanted to. I think, yeah, I think on some level I would not have wanted to go— got myself in for it if I felt like genuinely I don't believe that can be me, because like, what would kind of be the point? But I think the question for me was like, gosh, I wonder how long it will take. Will it take me years? Will it take me 8 months, 6 months, you know? Will it take me weeks, you know? Because you do see some girls, uh, kind of come in and, you know, they, they make, you know, fantastic progress with it very quickly. So, you know, everybody's journey is definitely different. But yeah, I definitely hoped so. And I was like, gosh, like, okay, the day that I do the testimonial, that was like a milestone.
100%. And I think that is such like a common trait or a common denominator amongst every woman I spoke with doing these case studies is everyone deep down believed they were going to do it. They didn't know when, they didn't know how, they didn't know everything in between. but they had that conviction.
Yeah.
And do you, I guess you work with amazing team members now, you probably see the same. It's that like pure conviction and determination that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Oh yeah, 100%. I mean, I love it, Shelley. Like, I'll even be saying something, I'm like, you know, if I make, you know, $20K, and they'll stop me and be like, if? Katherine, like, what's this about? What's this limiting belief you have? When you make $20K. I was like, yes, like, sorry, like, I don't know what that was about, sorry.
Yeah.
So it's, no, they're so encouraging. And this is the thing, when you work with people like that who'll hold you accountable and, you know, wanna see you do well and take time out of their day to give you feedback so you can be better and make more money, I mean, it's, you know, people go their entire lifetimes not being, you know, blessed enough to kind of live that reality where that's like, that's the kind of people that you work with, you know? Yeah, I just honestly feel so, so, so lucky, honestly. Yeah, I'm glad.
I love that for you. I guess to wrap things up, if someone's watching this, maybe Catherine before sales is watching this, and I guess they feel nervous, they feel scared, but they really want that change. Like, what would you say to her?
Goodness me, it'd be so easy for me to say, just do it, you know, but that's what I wanna say. Just do it. Like, let it go. But if you're really struggling to just do it and you're like, the fear is like pretty bad, I would say just be really honest with yourself about where that comes from. Like, you don't have to tell anybody, but just tell yourself, where does that come from? And then I would say, now put that to the side just for, you know, it's there, we can look back at it later. But now what do you actually want to achieve, you know? And would you You know, do you want to let those things hold you back from this? You know, and I feel like once you make that step, then actually you feel a lot better. Like you can put your head on the pillow going, "I am putting myself in the best possible position for success." Because if you don't do it, well, it's a guarantee it won't happen. You know, but if you do it and you trust yourself and you put in the time and you ask for help when you need it. You know, if other people did it, why could you not? I love it.
Amazing. Katherine, thank you so much. This call has been so inspiring, and I'm so excited to see where this journey takes you. This is only the beginning, which is the crazy part to all this. This is literally only the beginning. So yeah, Katherine, thank you so much.
