today is the day... (spend the week with me in Dubai )

Vlog-style YouTube video by Shelley Young documenting a week in Dubai while preparing for her first masterclass (held Sunday the 14th). The video mixes day-by-day activities (filming, client calls, team meetings), practical productivity advice (time blocking), sales/mentorship conversation scripts for handling pricing questions, and reflections on self-care, remote work habits, and local activities (hotel work spots, walks, polo).

Hi guys. Welcome back. We are doing A Week in the Life now It is a Wednesday, I'm gonna going to be honest. So we're doing like a semi week in the Life preparing for our first ever master class which is this Sunday the 14th. So if you're watching this, the master class will be today. So I would absolutely say if there are any seats remaining, use the link below and get your seat for this evening because, well, it depends on your time. So it might be your morning because they are going super quickly and it's only Wednesday already. But yeah, I thought I would do A Week in the Life, show you what we get up to to prepare for that. Well, show you the best I can. I'll be honest, the reason I don't typically do these types of videos is because I really do just lock myself away in this office and work, you know, Monday to Friday and then Sunday for most of the day as well. That's not that far. Today is quite a work heavy day. I had a PT session this morning. I'm in my office now and my first thing I'm going to be doing is clim messages. That is the first thing I do. Then I have to film a YouTube training video and an Instagram Sunday series video. And then from there we are working on the masterclass, making sure all the slides and the trainings are perfect for you guys. I have a meeting with someone from my team and then from there I will finish off with any admin that comes my way. I always find that as I go through the day more and more and more things just kind of creep up on me. But yes, I hope you enjoy this week. A bit of a behind the scenes. I'll try and make it as interesting as possible. Yeah, I'll see you soon. Okay. So I've just finished my filming for the day. I have an evening of calls now and like admin bits to do. It's 3pm I'm going to go make a coffee. My first coffee of the day, which is crazy for me. Fun fact is I actually hate iced coffee. I'm a hot coffee girl. Even though I live in Dubai. I think it's because I grew up in the uk. I love a cappuccino so I'm gonna go and get one of. This is my outfit of the day. I'm a firm believer if you follow my channel you'll know you should always feel put together. I do have my Zara slippers. My.
I just got these. The other days are home slippers. Oh my God.
They're the comfiest, coziest things. I'd recommend getting those, but, yeah, you.
Should always feel put together.
You should always feel good to be productive. Well, that's me. Anyway, I don't know about you guys, so, yeah, let's go and get a coffee. Okay. So I'm back with you in the same spot as per usual. And I wanted to share something that's really, really helped me today and a lot of the girls in my program, I really do kind of hammer this home, which is time blocking. So if you're working for yourself, if you have your own business, if you're working yourselves, most likely, if you're watching this, then to try and keep yourself organized is so hard. And let's say if you're trying to break into sales and you also have a 9 to 5 to balance, too, when you get home, you're just exhausted, and you want to try and be accountable. You want to try and achieve your goals. But it's hard. Like, it is really hard to try and stay disciplined. Sunday night, you should block out your week. So block out your role plays, block out your trainings, block out how many, like, applications you're going to do. You should be that organized and be that discipline. Because what is they say, a success without a plan, prepare to fail. If you don't have a plan, fail to prepare, prepared, fail. And that is true if you don't prepare. Like, I used to have days where I didn't do that and I'd hardly get anything done. Like, I would do the bare minimum, and that's just not possible for me anymore whatsoever. Because I have clients that need me, and I need to be 100% reliable for them. So I have to be more disciplined. And if you want to make good income in sales, then you have to be 100% disciplined, too. So it's something to keep in mind. It's something that's massively helped me and that's going to massively help you stay disciplined. So that way I can plan ahead. Yeah, I totally understand. Well, stop it. I was going to stop you anyway. So what you would just say in that position? And I had someone message me about it this morning. Morning. But someone asked me, what do you say, Ruta? Was it you who messaged me? Yeah, it was you.
What do you say when someone's like.
Tell me the price or, like, I.
Need to know how much it costs?
All you literally say is, super valid. I'm just an assistant, so I'm not fully aware of the different Pricing structures, because we do offer tailored one on one mentorship. But what I can do is put you in touch with our admissions officer, business manager, whoever, and they'll be able to tell you exactly how much the program would be for you based on what you need. Does that sound fair? And then that will do the job. What I want to see from you is just more structure. So it all kind of blended into one and it was good. But to make it strong, obviously you've got your intro, your current situation, your pain. Get your two pain points, your why now, how so, how long? Sorry, your how long, how so? And then. Okay, got you. So for you, you, you want to make that change, tie it off, then you go on to goal. And then you have your goal and your money and you tie that off and then you move on. So it's just making it more structured, which is going to ensure that you tick every single box. No worries. How you doing? You're okay? Thank you. Good. Nice to meet you. You just want to hit the ground running, like no time to waste, obviously, no pressure. Like we're in it together and we're going to make sure you have everything you need. But yeah, it's time to get to work, I'd say. Okay. So I'd love to just get to know you a little bit better, understand your current situation, what you're doing. Okay.
So I've just finished a day of calls.
I'm just currently on a walk now.
I've had multiple roadmap calls with girls who have joined the program, which is amazing. We've had role play, training, sales training with the girls in the program. I've had a call with my team to prepare for the master class on Sunday. So it's literally been like, I think one till seven, back to back to back calls, which is kind of like my closing days. It's kind of funny. And something that I used to do then is I would never take time for myself. Like I would just work through, work through, which actually massively led to burnout. So these days now I try and really focus on that because otherwise I'm.
Trying to be all things to all.
People and then I don't take care of myself. So I try. Not every day, but I try to go for a walk as often as I can to end the evening well until I do my next work block.
When I get home.
But none of that is on calls, so at least I can take some time for myself, reflect, have like dinner, you know, have a tea, just sit down, relax and Then I pick my laptop up for my next work block. And it's so good because Dubai is nice and not cold. I wouldn't say cold, but it's so much more bearable compared to in the summer where you literally can't leave, so you kind of feel like you're trapped in the house all day. Whereas now it's so nice so you can go for a walk, kind of clear my mind and then, yeah, I'm gonna get back to it.
Good morning. Happy Friday. Hope you're good. So we've been two days of vlogging now. I'm pretty impressed, to be fair, the fact I've never vlogged before, I didn't know how successful I would be. So today's Friday. It's Friday morning. Sorry, the camera's shaky. I've literally just finished a PT session, come home, got ready and I'm going to head out to one of my favorite hotels. I've got no booked calls in my calendar so I can get my work done somewhere else, which I absolutely love to do. I think we often forget that we have flexibility.
That's why we, we all got into.
This industry, right, was for flexibility, to.
Be able to have that freedom.
And I never use it. So once a week, if I can, if I don't have many calls or if I have no calls on a Friday, I try to keep that day clear just for work, then I'll go and work somewhere else because I get cabin fever.
I don't know about you, but I.
Get cabin fever a lot.
Like if I'm trapped in the house.
For four or five days, especially in this office for like eight plus hours a day, I want to get out. I need to be inspired. And there's nothing that more that inspires me than going to a five star hotel, having a cappuccino, maybe getting some lunch and just enjoying that like finer things in life. And. Yeah, so I'll try and film a little bit when I'm there and I'll speak to you soon.
Hi guys. Good afternoon, Just checking in with you. It is 5:20pm here. I've been at the hotel for like.
Four and a half hours, try and.
Do as much perfect as I can. To be honest, I think it's one.
Of those days today where I'm just.
Pretty tired and something that I never.
Used to admit to myself.
I'll be honest, I definitely do advocate for working hard, pushing on and, and.
If you want to achieve big things and if you're ambitious, you've got to.
Give it your 110. But there are going to be days where you are just tired and it is okay to listen to your body. Especially as women, we have to listen.
To into our body and we have to honor ourselves.
And you know, know that not every day is going to be perfect. Not every week is going to be perfect. There are going to be times where you just feel tired, you just feel exhausted and you need to take it easy now. Equally, there's going to be days where.
You have responsibility, you have to push on.
I think I'm kind of facing that middle ground today. I'm on my second coffee of the day. I've done as much as I can. I'm gonna do a little bit more and I'm gonna go home and have a relaxing evening. Tomorrow is Saturday, so I think tomorrow we might go to the polo or.
Do something relaxing as the polo is.
On in Dubai at the minute, which is lovely because now the weather's great. It's like perfect to be outside, be in nature as much as you can in Dubai anyway. Yeah, just have a relaxing morning. So that is me. That is plan. We've welcomed some lovely girls into the program today. Super excited to get to meet them, get to work with them and start their journey together. Other than that, I think that is all my updates I'm currently updating. Well, I'm currently editing the vlog that I've been doing this. I do want to show you this Christmas tree. It is insane. My toxic trait is I think that I can have this in my home. Can't because we are in a hotel. So let me stop here and I'm.
Going to show you this Christmas tree.
This is the Christmas tree.
How stunning is this? It's insane.
Just currently editing the vlog, had my.
Coffee, had my water and I'm just.
Chilling and I'm gonna go home soon.
But yeah, it's beautiful.
Happy Saturday. Hope you are having a lovely weekend.
I have not picked up the camera.
Once and filmed today. It has been such a boring day.
There's a lot more that I had to do than I anticipated. So I literally just went for a walk, got a coffee and then have.
Been at my office all day and we've seen enough of that.
So I have not picked up the camera. We are now going out for dinner. It's the night before the master class. Obviously it's a Saturday evening.
Master class is tomorrow. I cannot wait.
We're all prepared.
Everything is ready to go. So, yeah, I'll show you where we're going for dinner and I'll see you all tomorrow. Bye.
I thought there was no better time than to wrap the vlog up here with this stunning Dubai view. Thank you so much for. For watching. I can't wait to see all you lovely ladies in our masterclass later today or whatever day you're watching this. But It's Sunday the 14th, our master class. So I'll see you all there. And if you enjoy this type of content, please let me know. I know it's very different for me, but I can absolutely try and do it more often. Bye, guys.
