Turning A Partner Objection Into A PIF *LIVE*

A live sales call review by Shelley Young focused on overcoming a 'partner objection'—a prospective client’s fear of proceeding without partner approval. Shelley coaches Speaker C through confidence-building, self-belief, risk framing, and concrete next steps (onboarding, Stripe payment, coach introduction) to convert the lead into a paying mentee for an Airbnb/property mentorship program.

Hi, guys.
Welcome back to my channel. If you're new here. Hi, my name is Shelley. This is just going to be a quick intro before we dive into a sales call review. Today we are going to be looking at how to overcome an objection and specifically a fear partner objection. I had this sales call a while back with a company that. An Airbnb company that I was working for with a lovely, lovely lady who ended up joining the program. But she had a lot of fear around. Around making a decision, a lot of fear around needing to speak to a partner and not wanting to step up and be able to make that decision personally, even though it was her business, her finances, solely her decision. So we're going to unpack this together and yeah, I'm going to show you exactly how I handled this, how I. Objection. Handled her and uplifted her, gave her confidence that she needed to be able to make the decision independently and of course, start her business. So without further ado, let's get into it and I hope you enjoy.
What part of the mentorship do you think would be the most beneficial to you?
Probably just having someone there to help me whenever I need help. Because I feel like you could just watch a million videos, but sometimes you just need to discuss something with someone. Haven't have that guidance.
Yeah. Having that, like you said, accountability. If you've got a question, you can just have it answered. Yeah, yeah, I get that. And now you've seen like the blueprint. Now you've seen what our clients follow to actually get the results that you've also seen as well. Do you think you'll be successful with this?
It looks like a little bit. I do feel a bit more confident about it. Yeah.
Yeah. Are you sure?
Yeah. Because if a 19 year old can do it, then, you know, I'm sure I'll be.
I think it's going back to exactly like with the job interview by. And other things like I did a skydive not too long ago and like I always compare it to that. That was like awful. I don't know if you've ever done one but then when you do it you're like, that was so much fun. Like I would do that again. But it's only, it's like the build up that momentum, taking that step, going for the job interview, whatever it may be, that's like, that's always going to be the hardest. But it's all about self belief. Like do you feel that you have that self belief?
Yeah.
Okay. Love to hear that because that is important and Only, like, we can never give that to you. Right. Only that can, like, come from within. I always think.
Yeah.
For full transparency. Right. Do you think that this process and that this mentorship is what you need in order to secure your first property in 90 days, start earning, you know, extra 1k plus profit, possibly scale, so you can start traveling, enjoying life, or how do you feel?
Yeah, I do feel motivated to get through with it, but I do. I think I need to have a bit of a think. Just because it went to my husband, because he was a bit skeptical by it, or just tell him everything that I've learned today.
Yeah, I get that. I'm curious, like, why do you think it will be able to get you there?
Just because you said it.
You'Ve got.
Like, a model of how to do it and the fact that it'll happen in three months, it's guaranteed that we'll have a property, whereas it's not anything that, oh, you'll do it once you find something.
What, like, Makes this the right thing for you to do in order to get the property? Like, why do you think it's the step for you to take? What do you mean?
Like, doing this? Yeah.
Like, why? Because you said you feel it can help you and you feel that, you know, it gives you what you need. So I'm thinking, because I know we said back, going back to, like, probably over a year ago, the reason you didn't take that step was because kind of you didn't have that support, that guidance. So I guess my question is, like, what it is do you feel you need to do in order to start building the life you want, you know, and take those steps and have, you know, the income you want, the freedom you want.
Probably just taking that risk and not keep thinking, oh, what if this happens? Or what if this fails? Or whatever, and just sort of have a bit more belief in things and think about how things might actually work out if I put my effort into it.
And how do you feel right now? Do you feel you have that belief or you still kind of having that what if mindset?
At the beginning, I was told I did have that what if mindset because it is a lot of money. That's most of my savings. And that's quite scary, especially when I've got the mortgage and stuff to pay. But I am feeling more positive about it now, I think.
Yeah.
Just seeing all them other people doing it, it makes me feel like it is possible.
Yeah. So like you said, you feel you need to take that step in order to get. Build what you want to do.
Yeah. Okay.
And you mentioned kind of speaking to your partner, like, would that just be for more emotional support or is that for more financial support?
I'm gonna finance this myself. Okay.
Yeah, I get that. And I think that's lovely to have that. I'm very similar with my partner to have that level of support. I am curious. Let's say you speak with them, right. Because they are skeptical. You know, you're. We've just had over an hour's call. You're probably going to speak with them. Five, ten minutes maximum. That's usually how it goes.
Yeah.
So let's say they say, no, no, no, just leave it. Like it's too much. What happens then?
Oh, tricky questions. I'm not sure. You know, I think I'm just gonna try my best and just talk through everything that you've done today. I think that'll bring him over and tide him over, really.
So what happens if he does, though? What if he's like, no, no, don't do it.
I think I'll still do it. I'm not gonna lie. I hope you can't hear me saying that.
Okay, so, I mean, obviously, kind of, you know, your partner. Obviously, I've never met him. So if. If you feel you would still do it, even if he's like, I'm not gonna, like, don't do it, don't do it. What's stopping you from taking that step and taking that step to actually build a better life for you if you know without a doubt that you're gonna do this? I guess I'm curious.
I think it's been added to have his support and he's doing together sort of thing, just that emotional support, I guess.
But what if, like we said, what if he just doesn't give it you? What if he's like, absolutely.
No, it'll come down to it.
But can I ask, whose responsibility is it if you achieve the life you want, the financial freedom you want, the travel you want, you know, to leave your own nine to five? Whose responsibility is that?
I think both of us, to be honest.
You think it is. So, like, times where you've kind of had your job interviews and you've had, like, different exams and things like that. Was that all on you? Did you achieve that or did he achieve that with you?
Yeah, I probably achieved that myself, but obviously I had that support from him, didn't I?
Yeah. So if you achieve kind of all those things independently, like, in the moment, it was all on you. What Stopped you from doing this all on you and just taking that step because it's your life, it's your nine to five, it's your happiness.
Yeah, true. You've got a point. That is true. I don't, I don't know what's stopping me. I think it just being a bit scared. Like it's literally all my life savings.
And like I said, like everyone feels this level of scared. I've done it, I've started a couple businesses. My first one when I was 16. Like I get it, it's not, it's easy, especially get the more responsibilities you have. But it's like the way I always think of it. It's like you want a mountain, right? This is you now on a mountain and this is who you want to be. You want to be free travel, you want to be escape your 9 to 5. You want to be able to buy what you want when you want. Right. You want to be able to probably treat your husband and treat your family. But this is you now. And in order to be this person, you have to jump. Like it's very much you run, you jump and you bet on yourself. And the longer you stay on this mountain, you're going to look down, fear is going to get in the way. It's literally going to paralyze you. So it's about just taking that step. So for you, even though there's so much fear, if you want this more than anything, what is it you feel you have to do in order to be this person? Because equally you could just do nothing. Like, like you said, you could stay in the same job. Like it's fine, your job's fine and your income's fine and it's comfortable. So what stopping you from just running for it, if this is adamant what you want?
I don't really know, to be honest. Yeah, I think it's just being scared to be honest, just getting out of the comforts on and I think we.
Make decisions based on two factors. I feel like we push for like the pleasure or the comfort and we run from the pain. So I guess let me ask a better question. Like are you willing to do everything that needs to be done in order to make sure you get your property, you have your guarantee, you have the income, you have the life that you want.
Yeah, yeah.
So what would you do if you kind of knew that all you had to do was make that commitment to yourself, make that step for yourself and everything else would happen alongside it, like if all you had to do was take that Step and everything else would kind of happen in the next three months. Would you do it?
Yeah. Yeah.
Okay. But how will you ever know if you don't take that step? Like, how would you ever know if you don't just try and make that commitment to yourself?
Yeah, that's true. It's a good point.
And it's so easy. Like, I get it. And I think we, in these moments, you either come together and like, I'm absolutely with you every step of the way. You can have my WhatsApp. You've got full team. You have a coach who has been there, done it. They know it like the back of their hand. And I know it's scary and I know it's uncomfortable. Like it's literally supposed to do. So we either kind of like put the line in the hand and we just go for it and we kind of like meet the fear head on and we just do it. Or I mean, you could go back and maybe start, maybe not, and, you know, just continue like in the 9 to 5, because it's not that bad.
Yeah.
Where do you want to go from here?
Yeah, I do think I want to move forward. Yeah, I just, I need to get off the frame, I guess.
Going to take that step.
Yeah.
Yeah. Are you sure you want your property in 90 days? You want to build the business that will change your life?
Yeah, I do, but. But I. I don't want to commit right this second, but I will commit, but I just need to discuss that with my husband.
And is your husband currently at home? You're gonna go and chat with him?
Yeah, he's at home.
Okay. What I would suggest to do in this instance, I completely get it. Right. I completely respect that. Hence why I asked kind of earlier in the call, because actually, if I would have known, I would have said that's of kind. Pause. Let's get him on. You go and have a chat with him. I'll put myself on. You even bring him in because he might want to see my screen. Because there's just no point having a 5, 10 minutes chat. He's probably never, he's never met me. He's never seen what we do. He's just going to be skeptical. It's just what always happens. My part would be like, I get it. So if you go and have that conversation, maybe even bring him in, I can show him some bits and pieces, answering the questions and then we can support you to make that step. Because as we said, the longer it takes, the fear is paralyzing. We all know it. We've all been there, so would that be fair? Put myself on mute, you have a chat, come back to me, bring him in if you want and then we can go from there.
Yeah, that's fine.
Okay, I'll just wait here. I'm gonna mute myself. Sorry, I was tweaking the way. How you doing? You okay?
Yeah, good. I think we're gonna go ahead with it. I think. Yeah.
Nice. Love to hear that. What did he have to say? Any questions or.
He was just like, what if you're gonna take your money and run off and block on Instagram.
Okay, fair enough. And do you think we're gonna do that?
First things first.
No. Okay, good. Because I think if we got this far, you thought we did. I've done something very wrong. Okay. Was that just his only concern? Anything else?
It was just like it is a lot of money and if you do lose it, then that's your whole life savings gone. But he said that's risk on you.
Yeah. And you're happy to bet on yourself, right, and. And have our support to get you to where you want to be. Yeah. Love to hear that. Any other questions to go through our next steps?
No questions.
Okay, so our next steps from here is our onboarding. So. So how that will work is we'll process the investment and that money back guarantee agreement. I'm then actually going to send you a link to book a one on one coaching call. I think it'll be great just from the offset for you to meet your coach, have a custom 90 day plan of action in place because I always think that first step is always the hardest. So at least you're going to have a plan action so you can just get to work really. I'll give you full modules, full discord access, all your logins. You can actually start going through this evening or in your own pace whenever you kind of want to. Any questions off the back of that or do you want me to continue with our onboarding?
Yeah, that's fine.
Okay, perfect. Do you have access to your phone?
Just give me a second, let me open up it.
No worries. You got it?
Yeah.
Okay, perfect. So I'm going to send you a few different emails and the first one I'm going to send you is our stripe invoice. So I'll send you that by email. But the reason I say get your phone because I'll also send you a texting. A lot of our clients find that a bit easier. Apple pay whatnot. Let me get that sent to you first. It will be a Stripe invoice title. Let me know what that's come through. That should be with you.
Yeah, you got it. Yeah, yeah.
So if you want to click on that, go ahead and fulfill it. Let me know what you have. Because I don't always get a notification from my side. Um, I know stripe's been a bit laggy recently, so if any issues with the link declining, it's not you, it's probably Stripe. So just let me know. Um, and just while you're doing that, I'm going to message Leena, message your coach. I'm going to get your login so you can have them immediately.
Yeah, I've done that. I think that's fine too.
Okay. My God, so quick. Thank you for that. Usually I'm like filling out my form and everything, so that works well. So just bear with me while I'm just filling out your form.
That's fine.
I'm going to get you for loggings on there.
