you are not lazy you just don't have a plan

Shelley Young tried education, corporate jobs, sports, and in-person business before realizing she was stuck because she had no plan and no mentor. She argues that repeating the same actions with the same mindset changes nothing. Success requires a simplified plan, mentorship, and showing up consistently.

You are not lazy, you just don't have a plan. For years I felt like I was stuck in this loop on this hamster wheel, endless trying and failing and trying and failing. First I tried the education route, it wasn't for me. Then the corporate route, it wasn't for me. I tried making sport a hobby, it wasn't for me. I tried an in person business, it wasn't for me. I thought that I was a failure. I was working hard, I was giving it my all. I was doing everything that I knew how to do and it wasn't working. But that was just it. I was doing everything I knew how to do. I wasn't the expert. I was trying these things for the first time, hoping that they would succeed. I was doing a Google search or asking family or friends or asking, asking anyone I could for advice and guidance and I didn't have a plan. I was going round and round and round on this hamster wheel and nothing was changing. And that was the point. Nothing was changing. I wasn't doing anything differently. All the plans that I tried, I was doing the same thing. I was entering in it with the same mindset. This is going to be it now. This is going to work for me. I'm just going to do this for, you know, three, six months and this will be the thing that makes me happy. But if nothing changes, nothing changes. And if you feel the same, I'm sure many of you watching this feel the same you feel in this endless loop and nothing is going your way whether you're going from job to job to job after six months because the dopamine has worn off and you actually end up hating it. To staying in uni and doing every single degree you can under the sun because you know once you leave with education, you've got to get the corporate job or trying every single online business there is and it not working because you keep on hopping from one shiny object to another. I get you. I've been there, I've done it. But it doesn't have to be that way. I am literally living, walking, breathing proof that it doesn't have to be that way. But like I said, if you want what you never have you, you must do what you've never done. I was wasting time and energy consistently on the wrong vehicle, doing the wrong thing without a plan, hoping and praying that it would work. I was asking people for advice who I didn't want to be like that weren't in the job that I wanted, that weren't making the income I wanted But I just was hopeless. I was helpless, quite honestly, until something changed. Until I made a plan and I stuck to it. Until I found someone who had done what I wanted and who was very successful in what I wanted. And I bought their program and I invested in mentorship, and I had guidance, just like I do for the girls in my program. I build them out a plan so they can work on it every single, single day. You cannot succeed without consistency. We all know what it's like. You come back from a long day in the office, you're completely exhausted, and then you have to try and find motivation to work on your business or side hustle or that next career project. It only lasts for so long. It only lasts until the motivation wears off. But having discipline and having structure and having a plan is a completely different ball game. I'm here to tell you that it does work and that you can have the success that you want, and you can have the financial freedom that you want, but not if you keep on doing the same thing over and over again. I kept on doing it over and over again until I didn't. Until I changed everything. Until I built the career that I wanted, where I could travel, where I could spoil my family, where I was out of scarcity because for so long, I was in scarcity and survival mode. And it doesn't have to be that way. You can replace your income, you can travel, you can build your life. Is it easy? No. Let me repeat myself. Is it easy? No. If it was, everyone would be doing it. And that's okay. You don't want it to be easy, but you want it to be simple. You need a simplified plan. You need a guide, and you need support. And that is truly the. I can't speak. That is truly the recipe for success. And if you have that plan and if you stick at it, and if you keep on showing up for yourself every single day, you will get there just like I have. Just like my students have. Just like Hayley did, or Shibelle did, or Ananya did, or Maria did. And there's many, many more to name. Just like the girls in my program have done. They've made a plan and they've stuck to it. You can do it, too. But you have to make a change first. I'll see you in the next one.
