Copy this video style, it'll blow up your business

Will shares an "anti-edit" YouTube strategy: record raw, one-take talking-head videos on your iPhone or iMac to build authenticity and drive sales. He claims $487,000 in revenue last month and shows client examples with 10k to 523k views. The three-step system is congruency with your brand, matching content to audience pain points, and building a sales process before scaling.

Hey guys, it's Will. And would editing your videos less make you more money? Well, I believe the answer is yes, because I don't edit my videos at all, nor do I script them. And last month I made $487,000 from my YouTube channel. So in this video, I'm just going to show you the new way to make videos that provide maximum value and impact for your viewers and that make you five to six figures a month without you having to edit or even script your videos at all. Okay, now to start, you need to understand just how big a shift has actually taken place on YouTube over the last two years or so, especially for businesses, so that you're not putting viewers off with the wrong outdated style. So the old way was Iman Gadzi style, hyper edited, tons of B roll, you know, animations, fancy colorful lights in the background, perfect studio sets, all scripted out word for word, almost like mini movies. And even to this day, some people think that this is what you need to do to, to blow up on YouTube and to get views and sales. That is just not true. And if it was once true, it's certainly not true anymore now. Sure, that old style, it still works for some people, yeah, but for most, that's actually going to stop you from getting views and growing on YouTube. And why is that? Well, it's because I believe that people are tired of overproduction. Humans just want human connection, conversations, honesty. They want raw, real content that just provides value, builds trust and that they can kind of just like relax into and enjoy. Kind of like the videos that I make. There's also a problem with that old outdated style in that it's almost impossible for beginners to replicate and to get started with. Which leaves most people to think, well, I can't do YouTube then because I can't meet those sky high standards, right? But I'm here to tell you there is another way. So stay with me.
Because never before have humans been as disconnected as they are today. Social media has not brought us closer together, it's pushed us further apart. I think we all know that by now. We see each other through screens kind of like this, not in real life. And I believe that people just want to sit down with a friend and talk. So that's what I try to give people in my videos. And generally, not always, but generally people seem to love it. This video I use my imac built in camera and a cheap microphone off Amazon whilst sat in my office in my apartment. One take, no script, no editing, over 500,000 views. And multiple six figures in sales. And all I did was was sit down and just tell a story about a client of mine who teaches knitting online and who makes about 18,000amonth doing it. And people loved it. Or this video. The same imac built in camera, the same cheap microphone, the same office in my apartment. One take, no script, no editing, over 250,000 views. And again, multi six figures in sales. And all I did was sit down and tell a story about how I made $16.4 million from my last business before I sold it last year to a private equity firm in America. And again, people loved it. Now why does this even work? Well, it's because humans don't want B roll. They don't want animations, they don't want stock footage. They want connection. They want value. Honesty. But I do have to admit something. Me learning all of this was actually kind of due to laziness. If I'm gonna be fully transparent with you, and by the way, if you comment, love this below the video, I'm gonna send you a full free training lesson revealing my entire YouTube strategy, including some of the stuff that I keep locked up for my private clients. So if you want that, just comment love this below the video and I'll reply to you later on with the link. Just make sure that you keep it for yourself and that you don't share it. Anyway, when I started my channel, I looked at what everybody else was doing, you know, that hyper editing and fancy B roll and stuff, and I just thought, I just don't have time and I just don't have energy for all of that stuff. So I thought, well look, let me try and do the opposite. Let me just sit down, grab a coffee, film using either my imac camera or even my iPhone, which I'm using right now to film this. And let me just share stuff that I've learned. Almost like I'm just talking to a friend.
And you know what? When I did that, cutting out all of the fluff and making things way easier as well, Creating the new style of video that you're watching right now, that's just very simple. I got more comments, more leads, more sales, and more conversions as well. It was just all in a better business. And it also was way faster to make the content. It is just, it's just a game changer. And anyone can do this to get the same results. For example, my client, Jim Woodward, he used my anti edit Strategy and got 62,000 views on his fourth ever RAW unedited talking head video or Take my client, Nero Knowledge. He used my anti edit Strategy and got 250,000 views on his first ever raw unedited talking head video. Or my client, Charlie Morgan. He used my anti edit Strategy and got 523,000 views on his literally first ever raw unedited talking head video. Or my client, Jordan Welch. He used my anti edit Strategy and got 23,000 views on his first ever raw unedited talking head video. Or even my client, Shackle Lockman. He used my anti edit strategy and got over 10,000 views on one of his first ever raw unedited talking head videos. But it's not just as simple as not editing or not scripting. There is a specific method to doing this the right way, essentially. So now I'm going to show you the exact production system that you need to do this for yourself. And there's really only three steps to this. Step one is congruency and positioning. So your clothes, your background, you. It all has to match the theme of your brand and your business and what you're talking about in your videos. So for example, my client Jim, well, he's a panic disorder doctor. He makes over $10,000 a month helping people to stop panicking. So because he's a doctor, we decided to make his videos in what almost looks like a classroom or a doctor's room, but with the lighting, the whiteboard, the way that he's dressed. None of this is an accident. It's to create congruency and positioning. Or my client Nero, he's a esoteric advisor. He's a bit of a spooky, ethereal character. So let's wear sunglasses indoors. And again, if we're teaching lessons, well, let's use a whiteboard which makes people feel like they're in a classroom. None of this is an accident, is to create congruency and positioning. Or take my videos. They wouldn't work if there was like a white wall behind me. There's a reason that I set up my desk so that the ocean or the skyline is behind me. My bookshelf is in the shot to portray knowledge. My gold watch is in the shot to show and prove that I have money. I'm having a coffee to portray that I'm just here to have a conversation with you, like talking to a friend. Again, none of this is an accident. It's to create congruency and positioning. So can you see how depending on your business and your offer and what you sell, your background and your clothes and the items, they have to almost match up to Confirm what you're saying and what you're talking about. Because look, you wouldn't trust a doctor who wore like all black leather like a biker whose office was a tiny cubicle in an alleyway. He looks all messed up like a tramp. That's a weird, extreme example. I know, but you get my point. And equally, if I made these videos in what looked like a kid's bedroom with a bed in the background, messy hair, bad lighting, no forty thousand dollar watch, no huge beautiful home like the one that I live in here in Bali that you can see behind me, because it wouldn't be congruent and it wouldn't position me as a trustworthy expert in my field. So now you understand the importance of congruency and subtle positioning and how easy this is to do as well. It makes a massive difference to do this. But what should you actually talk about in your videos? How do you think of good subjects and good titles? Well, before I share that with you, hopefully I'm giving you a lot of value in this video today, but I can't give you everything or we'd be here for like 15 hours or something. That's why I coach people one to one and have an online training program to just share all of the secrets properly with you through full deep training modules and to help you with implementation by coaching you via Zoom as well. If you would like access to any or all of that, just click the Work with Me link in the description below and you can apply to Work with Me. And if we're a good fit, then I will lend a hand. But anyway, step two is pain and problem matching. And this is where it gets even easier. Because for most experts and people on YouTube to grow their business and to get clients, often they've solved a problem for themselves and now they're just teaching that back to others, essentially helping people, people that are where they used to be to get to where they are today.
All you have to do is just make a list of all of the pains, all of the problems, all of the hurdles, the lessons that you've learned the hard way and just make videos about them. Or even better, tell stories about what you've done and how you've done it. And yes, it really is that simple. Guys. I've just got a huge list of these things and whenever I need to make a video, like today, I just pluck one off the list. I set up my iPhone on a tripod, put the mic on and just talk exactly like I'm doing now. I wanted to Make a video. This afternoon, whilst I've got a few hours spare, I had a problem on my list which today was how to start and grow a YouTube channel to get leads and sales, which is a problem that I've solved for myself. If you don't know this, I've made millions in sales from this channel. I've gone from zero to about 80,000 subscribers in about a year. So I'm making this video to help all of you to do this for yourself, just like I have now. Basically, the simplest way to explain this is I just make videos for, like I just said, my old self who used to have these problems that I've now solved. It is just so simple and so easy because you just talk about what you've done step by step. In fact, one of my biggest videos ever on my channel is literally titled Step by Step how I did what I talked about in the video. And that actually started the whole so you can just copy me title trend that you see here on YouTube, which is pretty cool. So anyway, my humble, humble bragging aside, get a pen, get some paper and just make a huge list of all the pains, all the problems, all the mountains that you've had to overcome to get to where you are today and master the skill or the talent or the specialist knowledge that you've worked hard to get and, and just make videos about it all. Release one per week, same day, same time, so that your audience can get into a rhythm and voila, it really is that simple.
So now you know the importance of congruency and positioning and how to use this to build credibility and authority. And you know how to make videos that resonate with your ideal customers and get you sales by making pain and problem content that adds value and that positions you as someone actually worth learning from. But how do you turn all of the views that you'll soon be getting when you use my anti edit strategy into leads and sales and cash flow, right? Well, I'll tell you in step number three, which is views to sales. Now please God, never build a bloody YouTube channel until you've built a sales process first, or else you risk blowing up, getting loads of views and having nowhere to send the viewers to tell them about how you can help them so that they can actually buy from you. Now, to illustrate my point, I want to share a horror story with you. Now, I once had a client in the real estate space and she came to me with a pretty simple problem. Her YouTube was like as flat as a goddamn pancake. Okay? No views, barely no Sales process. She was offering consulting for $500 an hour from her website and was getting no sales either. So I did some coaching with her and I told her, right, we'll build your sales process first, then start on your YouTube videos later. And then as people kind of find your videos and you get views, people can go into your sales process to buy from you. So off she went, taking my advice, but doing it backwards. So she started on YouTube. She got her first ever video up that got 44,000 views and not a single sale. And then one day I saw her on my calendar to have a private zoom call with me, which is what my clients get. They get like anytime calls with me whenever they need them. And understandably she was pretty upset. She was pretty torn apart, she was sad, she was confused, and she was frankly pretty angry because she'd had a huge video, right, and zero sales. So I told her, right, log into YouTube, go to the video, show me the description and show me the sales process. And let's just audit everything step by step. Now I know that this sounds ridiculous, but she'd forgotten to add a description because she was so excited to put the first video out. And she hadn't finished building a sales process either.
As crazy as that sounds. But it is true. So what is a sales process for those of you that don't know? Well, it's a series of web pages starting with an explainer video where viewers of your videos can go to learn how you can help them and then they can book in a call to discuss buying from you. And she had wasted all 40,000 of those views and unfortunately it was too late to put the link in the description. And she'd potentially cost herself a tens of thousands of dollars by blowing up on YouTube first but not allowing those viewers to go into her sales process. Again, I know it sounds crazy, but I've seen this a few times, which is why I wanted to share this with you because it's just so important.
Never ever start growing on YouTube without a well built sales process. And worse, bloody hell, never send people to a website. A website is for information, a sales process is for conversion. There is a big, big difference between the two. In fact, if you want to learn how to craft a killer sales process that spits out leads and sales calls and high paying customers like clockwork. I've actually made this video that you can watch next where I break down my exact sales process that makes me multi six figures a month so that you can just copy it and do something similar for yourself. So go and watch that video next.
