How to sell your knowledge and make $10K a month (or more)

Will breaks down how to build a knowledge business: create an offer that solves a real problem and removes risk, grow an audience with problem-focused content, then use explainer videos to sell calls instead of the offer itself. He shares metrics from his own businesses and emphasizes volume and split-testing to find what works.

If you feel stuck in a job or a life or a business that you hate, or whilst watching others make bloody millions online, this video might just change everything for you. I've built two eight figure companies now back to back. I've advised hundreds of other entrepreneurs on how to do the same. So if anyone knows what actually works when it comes to selling knowledge online, it is probably me. No fluff, no theory. This video is just the exact blueprint that's created more millionaires than I can count by this stage. But this is going to be so valuable for you that we're going to have to jump over to the whiteboard. So come with me. Number one, how to create a killer offer that sells itself and has people literally begging to buy from you. Now, if you start here and you get this right, you are going to make so much more money way faster, way easier. Your whole life is just going to be so much easier. So let me break down how to actually do this. So the first component really is this.
Value is really an outcome minus risk divided by the chance of success. So if you can sell someone a great outcome, take away the risk and really show them how you can maximize the chance of them achieving it. God, you're going to put yourself so, so far ahead. And the first part of doing this is massive pain. Okay? The bigger the pain that somebody has, the more money that they'll pay, the faster they'll throw the money at you and the more that they'll pay for your help as well. So it all starts with not just the pain as you can see here and we'll cover some examples, but also a huge outcome right now when it comes to massive pain. A few examples would be the things that I've written down here. Stopping drinking alcohol, stopping losing money, preventing divorce. I've written down legal, so maybe if somebody is getting sued, they would pay a lot to solve that opportunity, loss.
Something not working, that kind of thing. So if you can help someone to save their marriage. I've got a friend doing over a million a month right now with a prevent divorce offer. I've got a friend doing multiple seven figures a year with a stop drinking alcohol program.
Equally in my last company. So for those that don't know this, I used to own an E learning company in the trading education space.
And I scaled that to $16.4 million over just above five years and then sold that company last year to a private equity firm in America. And one of the reasons that company worked so well is because we solved a massive pain. We Provided a huge outcome. We provided a very, very strong guarantee and we had a creative new angle as well. Now, there's not much that can be guaranteed, like truly, truly guaranteed. But man, if you do those four things, like.
You almost can't help but to make money.
So if you want to start your own knowledge business, start your own online information course coaching business, if you can hit these four things.
Well, you're going to be very, very, very far ahead. The more that you can touch on, the faster, the easier it's going to be, the more money that you're going to make. So massive pain. What's the pain that you can solve for someone? Number one, huge outcome. What is a huge outcome that you can provide to someone? Number two, can you help them get their dream partner? Can you help them become incredibly fit, live longer? Can you help them make more money? Can you provide them more freedom? Or maybe can you provide them growth, some area? So, for example, business growth is an obvious one, right? YouTube growth is another one. So I have two YouTube coaches that combined, I pay about $5,000 a month for between them both. They help me grow my YouTube and in turn they help me grow my business as well. So can you provide growth in some area?
That's the foundation. Because again, value equals a promised outcome minus risk divided by chance of success. So huge outcome, you use a guarantee to remove the risk. Okay. And vice versa. All right, now, next, let's talk about guarantees for a second. Now, guarantees almost always help you to make more sales, depending on the niche, depending on the offer. And I'll give you a few examples. So for us, we do not have a guarantee in this present company that I own my consulting company. And the reason for that is, is it's next to impossible for me to guarantee that someone's offer is going to work. Their promise is going to work, their team is going to come together, their ads are going to be profitable, and on and on. So when people say to us, do you have a guarantee? The answer is no. Because if we had a guarantee, we'd kind of just be lying to you. Because there's so many things that we cannot guarantee right.
Now. And the funny thing is that actually builds more trust. Because in a world where honesty is rare, to be honest gives you an edge. And it builds more trust, it builds more buy in, builds more rapport. Okay? So depending on your industry, your niche, and this works especially well for B2B. What this does is higher level people will say things like, wow, that's awesome. I've never Heard anyone be that open and honest and truthful before I'm in, right? And lesser smart people would be like, oh, well, I'm not buying then. If you can't guarantee it, I'm not coming in because I need a guarantee. Those people are very often stupid, they're very often broke, they don't understand risk, reward, they just don't. They're just not like good people to work with. And that's the great thing about not having a guarantee. It attracts the right people, repels the wrong people. Now, on the other side of this, right in my, in my old company, the elearning company that I just told you about, we did have a guarantee. And the reason for that was because we were essentially selling data in, in, in that business and we knew that the data was so largely predictable, so trustworthy, so solid that we felt comfortable offering a guarantee. And it worked immensely, immensely well because again, we solved a massive pain which was to help people stop losing money and start making money. We provided a huge outcome which was profitability and making more money and therefore getting more freedom and experiencing more growth as well.
We had a guarantee and we had a creative new angle. And I'm going to talk to you about angle in a sec because this is really, really, really important. But when it came to our guarantee, and for any of you that want to offer a guarantee, you can do so, just only do so if, number one, you're willing to stand by it.
And honour it. And number two, if you're pretty damn sure that you can get most people great results. So if you would be worried if someone bought from you using your guarantee, that's a sign that you probably shouldn't be offering the guarantee. Like there is a friend of mine, a guy called Sabri Subi, says that if your guarantee doesn't keep you up at night, it's not strong enough. And that's a great way to think about guarantees. But if it truly does keep you up at night and you can't sleep and you can't function and you're worried it might be a little bit too strong, right? So you've got to be able to meet expectations essentially, because the last thing that you want is 10 people buy from you and nine of them refund, that's just there's something very wrong. Now the great thing about guarantees is that it will increase your sales, right? So you might be doing this many sales when you kick things off or even now. And by introducing a great guarantee, you can actually do this many sales and you might Just get a refund here and there, but largely it's going to make you a lot more money. Okay, so the things to think about are, are you even able to guarantee anything? Because frankly, most people are not most people, they're not able to guarantee much, if anything. And for me, I'd rather just be open and honest and transparent and work with less people, but great quality people that are really on a level that are pretty intelligent rather than something that a couple of my competitors do, is they have a very, very, very strong guarantee that, frankly, I don't actually think shows integrity. I don't think that it should be being offered. And what they do is they trap you in the contract so that you actually can't claim the guarantee. Which to me, that. That doesn't sit right with me. I couldn't. I couldn't act with integrity and sleep well at night if I offered that. I do know that it makes them a lot of money. I don't know what their whole refund and chargeback situation is. I don't imagine it's very nice. But for me, if you can guarantee something like we used to be able to then do, because you'll make a hell of a lot more money if you can't, just keep it real with people you know. And actually that will build you a lot of respect and rapport and trust and will also make you some pretty good money like it does for us in this company. Now, let's talk about a creative new angle, and I'll give you a few examples of this.
So one of the things that set me apart in my old company, a lot of people always say to me, will, how on earth did you charge eight and a half thousand dollars for a trading education program in a niche where most people are broke? A lot of the products are like $27 a month, $47 a month. Courses are like $500, $1,000. How the hell did you charge eight and a half? Well, the answer to that is positioning an angle. And really what is called a unique mechanism. And really it's a creative way of framing and describing something that's never been heard of. And that gives you what's called a usp, a unique selling proposition, which for us was trading using data, trading using mathematics. And we used to call it mechanical rules. Now we. When I first launched the company, no one had heard of it. Everyone was like, oh, what is that? How does it work? And it's just new and different and exciting and it sets you apart in the market. A few other Examples of this are I've got a fitness client who charges $15,000 for his fitness program. And again, the fitness niche is dominated By Low ticket cheap, 27amonth, 47amonth, $500 courses, $1,000 courses. So you could say, again, you could ask that question, how on earth does he charge $15,000? Well, two reasons. Number one, he's positioned himself as a fitness doctor and number two, he only works with the very top of the market as well. So if this is the whole market, you've got people with no money that aren't really very serious. You've got people with money, but they're not deadly serious. And then you've got entrepreneurs, CEOs, executives, people with money who are very serious. And that's his niche up there. Those are the people that they have massive pain, they're looking for a huge outcome and they buy in to his creative new angle. All right. And he's built up a great organic social media following as well, which just gives him even more of an edge. Okay. Which we're going to talk about that later by the way, so bear with me for that few other examples. So for me, one of the reasons I would say that people have respect for me and they trust me and want to work with me is because I'm one of the only people in the world to ever exit a personal brand driven online education business to private equity. Right now I believe really anyone could have done that, Somebody could have beat me to that. But the sentiment in this industry is that it can't be done, or it was until I exited. And that's given me a massive edge. And now I'm the guy who managed to sell an E learning company for multi seven figures in a big exit and then start another company and quickly scale it up to, you know, millions and millions of dollars a year, creating my second eight figure business in a row. So those are my accolades and that is really part of my angle. Like why should you work with me over someone else? Well, I've built two eight figure companies, I've sold one of them to private equity. I've got one of the highest net profit margins in the industry and vice versa. So that's kind of my angle. Right. So start to think about what could be your angle and I've got a few other equipment examples to share with you here.
So you could have a very deep background in what you do, or you could have new insights that only you know or only you've discovered, or it could be your results or your Accolades. Right. Because an accolade can be a mechanism in itself or it could be you found a way to do it bigger, faster. It's a new discovery. One of my old mentors had this framework, N E S B New, Easy, Safe, Big. And he used to say the more of those that you can factor into your offer and the promise that you're making, what you're helping people with, the faster and easier you'll make sales and the more sales that you'll make, which is very true. So nesb, New, Easy, Safe, Big. That is going to give you a massive edge. Okay, guys, so that's on the angle side. Now another thing that I want to share with you, just coming back to guarantees for a second, is this.
When should you and shouldn't you have a guarantee? We've just answered that a second ago. Okay. But to just make this a bit more tangible.
So let's take the popular self help guru, Tony Robbins. Now I can't imagine that people are asking him, tony, do you have a refund policy? Right. So sometimes it's just kind of presumed that because you're, you know, you're experienced or you're famous or you've got massive accolades, you kind of just don't need to offer a refund policy. And a lot of people actually won't Even ask, like 95% of the people we work with, you don't even ask for a guarantee. They're just so bought in, they're just in. Right. And on the other side of that, if you don't have experience, if you don't have accolades, if you don't have proof, if you don't have this, you don't have that. While offering a guarantee, as long as you can ethically offer a guarantee, it can massively help you. Okay. And I'll share a story. So I had a new client come to me recently with, let's just say an SMMA style offer where they run ads for local businesses. Now that is a quite a tired offer. It's an old offer, it's a dry offer, it's not very attractive. They've heard it all before. So it's hard to sell because it's not a massive pain, it's not a huge outcome. It's a little bit hard to guarantee. It's. And there isn't a creative angle either. Now can you still make money? Yes. Can you still make sales? Yes. But it's a lot, lot harder and a lot slower and a lot more difficult. So I made the suggestion, I said, could we offer a guarantee of some kind. Could we say we'll get you this exact number of Leads, which is 37 new leads a month at least.
And there were some other elements to it and we tested it and essentially it grew his business by almost double. He wasn't making a lot of money. He was making like 2, 3, 4k a month. And now he's touching on about 8, 9, 10, 11k a month.
But nonetheless, it's progressed in its growth. So there's a lesson to be learned there. If you can just tweak these things, if you can make things more painful somehow, if you can inflate the outcome somehow, if you can offer a guarantee somehow, or you can create a new angle, a new approach, a new mechanism, these things alone can immediately make you more money, immediately get you more customers and grow your business. The more you can do, the bigger and the better and the faster and the more explosive the growth. Okay, so that's that. Now the next thing that I want to talk to you about, now that we've covered, number one, is this. Number two, so how to attract your ideal high paying clients who throw four or five figures at you. Okay. And the first thing I want to touch on, there's no need for paid ads. You don't have to run paid ads, by the way. It can be helpful to do so, but it's not critical. Think problem, then share the solution. It really is that simple. And we'll go deeper on.
How to do this in a more impactful way in just a second.
But first, how do you do this? Okay, I'm going to presume that maybe you're either starting out or you're making less than 50k a month. I'm going to show you how to grow your business, get more customers, make more money. And the way you're going to do this, you're going to make a list of their problems, the problems that you solve for your dream customer. So who is your ideal customer? If I could wave a magic wand and give you a customer right now, would they be male, female? Would they be young, old? Would they be rich, poor? Where would they live in the world? What's their job or career? How much savings do they have? Do they have a family? What car do they drive? Just like, who is it? Who's your dream customer? And here's how to get more of them. So, so you're going to use organic or paid. You're going to call out their problems. You're going to make videos or ads about those problems. You're going to write tweets, you're going to do anything that you can to go out there and talk about their pains, their problems, their desires. And let's take YouTube as a great example. You can make videos on YouTube about stopping drinking alcohol.
That's the pain point.
The algorithm is going to put that in front of the right people for you, which is the magic of organic. You've got to pay with your time. You don't have to pay with your money. People are going to find your videos over time. They're going to subscribe to you over time. And if you have a link to an explainer video where people can learn more about how you can help them and book a call to buy your program, you, you are going to make sales. That's just a fact. You could also carry this over to Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and other kind of places along the way as well, where again, you're going out, you're getting the right people's attention, you're calling out their problems and you're offering them the solution and the way you're doing this. And guys, this is probably the most important part of this video is you're doing it in a wow not how fashion, so that they need to buy from you.
Now, this is just so important because there's people out there that say, give all the value away for free and sell implementation, which personally I don't agree with. Let me tell you why. I've had clients in the past that come to me and they're giving everything away for free, but people are not buying from them. Because when you give everything away for free in a how not wow fashion, people will say, oh, you know, there's this guy and he's giving me this information, let me take it and give it a try. It fails. They blame you and they never buy from you. This is so, so common. So, so common. So if right now you're going out there and trying to get traction, trying to get attention, sales calls, make sales, and it's not working, this may be why this is often the case. Here's what to do instead. Okay, Instead of how not wow, you're going to do wow, not how. Imagine we met in a coffee shop and you said to me, will, what do you do for a career? And I would say, well, I help people to take a skill, a talent, some knowledge, package it up and sell it in an online course or a coaching program or mastermind form. And then you might say, well, like how, how exactly does that kind of work. And I would say, well, I help people to kind of get attention.
Using social media, organic ads, that kind of thing. Send the attention usually to an explainer video that explains who they can and can't help and how. Send people to a sales call and then they're going to have a sales conversation and if it's a good fit, they'll buy. If it's not a good fit, they don't buy. You repeat that at scale, eventually people do buy and you make a lot of money. And within this industry, it's one of the fastest, easiest, highest profit margin businesses on planet earth today. Fact, complete and utter unarguable fact. Right?
So now you know what I do and how I do it. But well, how do you make the content? How do you make the ads? How do you make the explainer video? How do you not drop your coffee when you're making YouTube videos? How do you do a sales call?
What about sales script? How do you price your programs? What do you sell? There's so many questions. So you're like, wow, you know what I do but not how. You don't know how I do it and you have to buy from me to bridge that gap. Wow. Not how. And if you make your content in that fashion, you'll make double, triple, quadruple the money and way faster and easier as well. So wow. Not how. So how to attract your ideal high paying clients who throw four to five figures at you. That's how make organic or ads go out there, lead with the problem, share the solution in a wow, not how style so that they need to buy from you. Now moving on from that.
Volume and consistency, think like a scientist, find what works. That is Marcus Outlier. So Marcus is one of my clients and he joined my one to one coaching program about seven weeks ago.
And he was getting a few clients and making a bit of money, but not as much as he wanted by far. And one of his problems was he just couldn't figure YouTube out. So I said to him, dude, you've got to test things. You've got to think like a scientist. You've got to rotate your thumbnail, rotate your title, rotate the length, rotate the value, okay? And you've got to test these things over time. So stick with the same thumbnail style, test different titles and lengths, stick with the same title style, but rotate the topics value and so on and so forth. And that's what you see me do here on the channel as well. I'm always kind of testing different things to see what Works best. And fast forward six weeks and Marcus has just had his first ever, what he's called an outlier video. And he went from 1, 200 views per video, sometimes 70 views, sometimes 50 views, to almost 7,000 views now on his newest, most recent video. And Marcus, if you watch this, by the way, comment down below. And also, well done on the work and the time and the patience. So sometimes, guys, this stuff takes. Takes some time, it takes some patience. You know, you're not just going to wave a magic wand and make millions and millions of dollars, but if you do what I'm telling you here, if you watch this video in full, you go and you watch my other videos here on the channel and you learn and you take action, you have the potential to make like the money that I've made, like tens of millions of dollars, okay? So it's well worth paying some attention because it can make you a not even a multimillionaire, a bloody deca millionaire, okay? Like it has for me.
So put in the volume, put in the consistency, right? And keep testing things. Just think like a scientist so that you can find what works, okay? So that's number two. Now number three is this. When I talk about funnels and ads and organic and sales calls and especially high, higher prices, some people get a bit scared and it's usually of sales calls. So if you are scared of sales calls, well, don't be because I'll show you right now how to get people to sell themselves, okay? And this is how it's done.
So start with organic traffic first. YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook. Stay away from ads for just the minute. You can run ads if you have the time, the energy and the budget, by the way, but this just makes things way, way easier. And you're going to make organic content, you're going to send it to an explainer video and you're going to sell the the call, not the offer. This is a massive mistake that people make is in their vsl, they tell people a price, they tell people the deliverables, they tell people it's a course or a coaching program. Do not bloody do that. Do not do that, guys. In the explainer video, also called a vsl, you're going to sell the call.
Not the offer. So the content sells people on going to the explainer video, the explainer video sells people on going to the call, the call salespeople on investing in your help and in your program and what you sell. Super important. Okay?
Now here's something that I Get asked all the time, will, how long should my explainer video be? And people are always surprised when I say this, but the longer the better.
So the longer, the deeper, the more informative and valuable your explainer video is. The more rapport you're going to build, the more trust you're going to build with people. And that in itself, when you pair that with organic content.
That in itself gets people to sell themselves because they build a lot of respect, trust, like rapport with you. And then by the time it comes to the call, they're pretty much in. And that's why we have such a high close rate. So our close rate is around, around 29, 30, 31% up to about 35% depending on the month. We've had much higher than that. We've had lower than that as well, but it's around that 30 to 33, 34% mark, which is pretty, pretty damn high. Pretty damn high. And that is, this is, this is how we, we kind of produce that. Okay, now before I go any deeper on the sales side, I just want to hop over here for a second to point number four, how to scale past 100,000amonth and beyond and actually maintain it as well so that your grandkids can thank you. When you're flying them private and they're coming to your mansion in New York, your mansion in Bali, your mansion in Dubai, wherever you want to have a mansion, you can have one, you can have multiple ones. And this is how, okay, so as you start to produce pretty serious numbers with one of these businesses, because believe me, when you build these businesses properly, it happens fast. Like you can rock it to 20k, 50k, 100k a month and you're going to start building up very large cash reserves. And when you do, please be sure to save it and invest it, all right? And stay level headed and focused. One thing that's always worked for me, and even largely to this day, as you can probably tell from this white T shirt.
I kind of maintain an attitude of acting like I'm still poor.
And I just think I just try and stay grounded, you know, I always think there's more to build, there's further to, to grow, there's more to learn. And I just try and stay inside the attitude of don't show off, don't be an asshole, you're no better than other people just because you know how to make loads of money, you're not better than other people. And I also don't waste money. I don't really flash money around. I mean, the only real stuff that I buy that's expensive is real estate, and that's part of this first thing. So as you make a lot of money, I would strongly suggest that you buy real estate with cash. You invest in, let's just say the S and P or an S and P tracker is the simplest and easiest thing to do. And the best thing to invest in is knowledge. So if you're still watching this YouTube video at this point, which is about 30 or so minutes in, that says to me that you are smart, that you're focused, because a lot of people will be gone, they'll be watching cat videos now, right? You're not. One of the best things that you can invest in is knowledge. It's other people's experience. Don't make mistakes yourself. Go to someone who's made the mistakes and just pay them to help you solve them. You're going to progress way faster, you're going to make way more money way easier, and on and on and on. And one of the things that's got me to where I am today is investing in courses in coaches, specifically masterminds. I've made, God, I've made millions of dollars from, from attending masterminds and building my network that way as well. So as you build up capital, go to masterminds, invest in courses in coaching programs, read great books. That's the best place to put your money. By far, by far. That's by far the biggest ROI that you're ever going to get. So those three things, real estate, equities, your own knowledge, and if you invest your money there, well, you're going to double, you're going to triple, you're going to quadruple your wealth over time. Okay, final point over here, systemize what you're doing. And I should have also written here, keep things as predictable as possible, because when you have consistent operations and really consistent inputs, you get consistent outputs, right? This is why the actions that I take are so consistent. I upload one YouTube video same day, same time, every week. I've never missed an upload, ever. Two Instagram reels a day, every day, same time, two go out, deadly consistent. That makes your sales call flow consistent. You look after your sales team, your reps, your setters, your closers. That makes them consistent. You invest your money, your money compounds on itself. And because you've got consistent inputs, you get consistent outputs. Really important. And this is the same for you. Release videos, you get calls, you make sales, you book calls, you get closes, you can reinvest and one of my mentors used to have this graph where it really looked like you put your ad spend in, you book your calls, you close your sales, you reinvest the money into more ads, you book more calls, you make more sales, you reinvest the money, and on and on and on. It creates this amazing flywheel. And you've got a business flywheel and also an investment flywheel. Well, and if you do both well, wow, you're going to be so far ahead. So, so, so far ahead. So that's point number four. And by understanding these, I'm not quite done with the video yet, so bear with me. But by understanding these and executing them properly, you absolutely will. There are not many guarantees in life, and I'm not guaranteeing anything here, but this is as close to a guarantee as you can get. To make millions and millions of dollars is by executing on what I share in this video and in my other videos here on the channel and in my book as well. If you haven't read the book, go and get a copy later on. It's like $12. So it's, it's, it's not going to set you back a lot, and it will add millions of dollars worth of value. Now, final point, coming back over here to the sales section, there's one thing we haven't talked about, and that is a sales script. So when you can get people to book a call with you, which is actually not that hard, especially doing what I've just shared with you here today, what do you say to them on the sales call? Well, I want to give you a copy of my script, if that's okay. And I've made a full free training video where I break down the script. What to say, how to say it, how to handle objections, how long to spend on the phone, what to do, what not to do. And you can watch that video by clicking here. So go and watch that next.
