Profitable Personal Brand Challenge – Day 1 – GA Session (9pm Bali)

William Brown teaches the Raw Authority method for building a profitable personal brand, starting with his viral webcam video that generated high-ticket sales. He argues raw, unpolished content builds more trust and conversion than scripted material, then covers the five-day challenge topics including offer creation, channels, and content strategy.

Sam.
Oh, 25 people.
Admit all. Okay.
Admit, admit, admit, admit. Okay, cool.
Where is he?
Where is he at all?
Okie dokie. Right, let's go.
Hey, here he is. Paul, what's going on, man? You okay? Yeah, I'm good, thank you. How are you doing, mate? I'm good, man, I'm good. Dude, you gave me a flashback to Manchester City center the other day, didn't you?
I know.
I thought. I thought it'd be nice to give you that. Been away from England for a while now, so. Yeah, I shared that one with you. Yeah, I'm just. I'm staying away for a reason. I'm only joking. Manchester is a great place. You did you have some gigs there? Is that what it was? D.J. there a lot. Went to uni there. Yeah.
Good place, man. Good place.
Right, let's let everybody in. Thomas, what's going on, man? You okay?
Yeah, yeah. Can't. Can't unmute himself. No worries.
Okay.
Just let everybody in. Yeah, yeah, I'm good. Can you hear me? Oh, got you loud and clear. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, Yeah, I just came in in the nick of time. My time zone's different, so I was a little bit confused. I was supposed to come in earlier to the vip, but.
No worries, mate. No worries. You can. You can hop in tomorrow. Still loads of time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sweetheart. Good, good, good, good, good. Let everybody in.
Melvin, what's going on? Dude? I love the cult. Is it cold where you are?
Nah, man, I'm in Bali.
I just.
Just tactile thing, so I have the.
AC right here and I'm, you know.
I like to stay snuggled up. Yeah, love it. I need one of those things. Dude, looks. Looks awesome. Thanks, man. Gotta love it. Gotta love it. Okay, we'll just give it another couple of minutes or so. Let me keep letting people in. I should have just set this to, I don't know, let everybody in automatically or something. But never mind, never mind. I'll do my job. Jamie, what's. What's going on, man? You. You got the link in the end. You made it in.
Is he around? I guess not. For now.
Everybody gets settled. Cool. Okay.
What else we got? Get off this.
Sick jumper. Should I start by giving value and making videos first or run a paid or test ad to see if there's real market demand? I'd run a test ad if you can. Yeah, it's a faster way to. To market verification rather than making videos. You can make videos if you don't want to waste the time, but I would just Run dummy ads? Definitely.
Will you be covering ways to build authority even when you don't have any testimonials? Yes, I will get into some of that. Yeah.
Where are we supposed. Oh, we submitted the questions in the Facebook group. Is it. Sorry to interrupt. No, no, in the. The Zoom chat. Yeah, you can. Oh, okay. Right now. Okay. All right. All right, cool. Yeah, you can put it in there. I'm gonna. I'm gonna do some questions later on. I don't know how long the teaching session is gonna take, but we'll. We'll see.
Yep. This is a general admission. Julius. Yeah. The VIP was on last hour.
Yeah. Cool. Yeah, I'll get to those later on. Right, we'll just give it another. Just give it another minute, then we'll dive in because everybody's always late. I can see more people coming in.
Serena, should we talk about some of the school stuff later on in the. The Q A that we were talking about?
Of course.
I'm ready. That was funny, man. That was funny. Cool. Okay. Two. Oh, yeah, the. The bloody clocks changed. Yeah, I only realized that a few days ago. So this is. This is 9pm Bali for me right now. So it's 8pm for VIP, 9pm for the. The general teaching session. Ah, that'd be it. That would be it, yeah. Oh, that was why so many people didn't attend. I wondered why there was, like, Zoom 7. Even my email. Even my email was, like, cooked. And Z. Like, Z was telling me, 5 o' clock Dubai, which is now the VIP, for God's sakes. I wonder why.
I even tried to join McCall. And it, like, wasn't even, like, letting me join any call, so it was really cooked. That's.
Yeah, me too.
Well, at least we got it sold on day one. You. You guys have got another four days to go out, so there's loads of time to. To cover. Cover stuff later. So. So no drama there. And I'll also do some. Some questions later on as well. We're still missing loads of people. It's always so interesting. It might still be the time zone thing because I just got the email and it said 2pm on, and then I was like, it might still be the time zone. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a bit of a risk, to be honest, this. This time, because I know that a lot of customers of ours are American, but not to worry. We've got about a third of you here so far, and I know that there's a few more people to let in as well, which I need to Do. Cool. Okay. Okie dokie. Right, let me get this, get this pulled up. Share my screen.
Can you guys see my screen?
Yes.
Yeah. Yes, we can see your screen. Nice, man, nice. Awesome. Okie doie.
12:00Am Julius. That's, that's what I'm talking about, man. Well done for, for going all in and attending. That's really good to see, man. I would do the same thing. Sorry, William, for the interruption. Just quick confirmation. The VIPs get the recording, right? Yep. Awesome, thanks. No worries, man. No worries. Okie doie. Right, let's get into it. I'll just make sure everyone is.
Muted.
And.
I think I'm good to go. I think you guys can. Yep, I think you can hear me and see me. All right, awesome. Let's get into it today. 1. Let's go. Let's get rid of this bloody thing. Okie dokie. Stick that down there for now. Right, let's do it. Okay.
So welcome to day one, guys. Really, really good to have you here. And this first part of day one is called Just start. You don't need to be perfect. Okay. I think this is, this is something that held me back for a long time. So what we're going to talk about Today is the 8.2 million dollar webcam secret. And how I accidentally started a movement and built an eight figure personal brand without scripts, without editing, without even trying, which is something we'll talk about later on. So really great to have you all here. And over the next five days we're going to cover. This is just some of the things we're going to cover. How to create an offer that sells and how to price it. Which social media channels to use and why. What equipment to buy and how to use it. How to come up with killer ideas and titles for your videos and content. How to optimize your bio to get sales, which is a little tactical hack that I'm going to teach you guys. How to create a content calendar. So important, defining your value and your avatar authenticity on camera and also how often to post and some of the tactical bits and bobs as well that I'll share and a lot more than that. So I hope that you're as excited as I am. It's taken us about over a hundred hours to. Oh, hold on a minute. Bloody hell. What am I doing? Get off this. It's a bloody zoom recording. Let me come back over here. So hope you're as excited as I am. We've put over a hundred hours into this, so I'm really, really Excited to share this with you. And also, let me just let this guy in who's late. Okay? When we're done with the next five days, you're going to know exactly how to build a profitable personal brand that prints using my raw authority method so that you can go out there and sell your course, your coaching, or your consulting offer at whatever price you choose pretty much to as many people as you like. Now, what I'm going to share over this five days has made me $8.2 million cash collected over the last 22 months exactly as of this month. And now it's your turn. So I want to start by sharing my story with you for context. Okay. So I walked into my home office on a Tuesday morning at 10am As I always do when I start my day every day. And I sat staring at the built in imac webcam that was sitting on top of my computer monitor as if it was some kind of alien device. So the room was dead quiet except for the hum of my air conditioner. My coffee was getting cold on the desk next to this cheap Amazon clip on microphone that I'd bought for $30 a week earlier. And I just sold my company to private equity the week prior for millions of dollars. But here I was feeling completely lost about what to do next. And I was in this magical place, right, where everybody wants to get to this financially free, quote unquote place. But something felt different. And I felt more trapped and alone than I ever had before. Because after the sale went through, I thought that I'd be on top of the world, right? But instead I was sitting in my apartment, bored out of my mind, wondering what the hell I was actually supposed to to do with myself and to do next. And I didn't want to build another massive company with 19 employees, spending 7,000 a day on paid ads, taking 64 sales calls a day, which was what we were doing in my last company and all the other headaches and stress that that last business brought me. And I also didn't want to deal with investors or acquirers or partners or M and A advisors or private equity or any shit like that breathing down my neck ever again. I just wanted something as simple as bloody possible. Something that could make me maybe 30k a month, 50k a month, without all the complexity, without the staff, without the ads and all that stuff. So I could just have fun, make some cash and feel some purpose in my life. That was my plan after selling that last company. But every time I looked at other people's personal brands I just felt so overwhelmed because the production value was crazy. The fancy cameras, the professional bloodied lighting, setups, microphones, the scripted content, the teams of editors and graphic designers. And I remember thinking, there's just no way that I can do that. There's no way that I can compete with that. And I remember thinking as I scrolled through those perfectly polished YouTube videos, and I almost gave up before I even started. But then something clicked for me. And I looked at the webcam again and I thought, what if I just talked? Like what would happen if I just. If I just talked? And what if I ignored everything that everybody else was doing and I just talked to the camera and just shared what I knew and what I learned and just provided value. So I pressed record on that imac built in webcam, leaned back in my chair and just started telling stories about everything that I'd ever done and learned. Zero squids. No lighting. The lighting was actually terrible. No editing at all. Just me talking like I was having a conversation with a friend. And I uploaded that first video to YouTube. And honestly, I actually forgot about it because my channel was doing so rubbish back then. I was getting like 100 views, 300 views, you know, 400 views. Even though I kind of thought that I had value to, to share with people, the channel was just not working. So I wasn't expecting much at all. Maybe a few hundred views if I was lucky. And then it happened. So let me just admit these guys. I checked the stats the next morning and it was crazy. Things just exploded. I had 4,000 views that first day, which was insane by itself. I had 9,000 views by the third day, 41,000 a week later. It was the craziest bloody thing ever. My phone wasn't. Wouldn't stop buzzing with notifications. Comments were absolutely pouring in. And people were asking questions, sharing their own stories. And something really incredible started happening. People were actually asking to buy from me. So people were commenting. Do you have a course? Can I hire you for some consulting? When are you launching a consulting coaching program? And I didn't have any of these things back then at all. It was just me on my own.
Not properly anyway. I had a little folder of videos. I was doing some onetoone calls. But I didn't have a course, I didn't have a coaching program, I didn't have a business, anything like that. But suddenly I realized that I didn't need fancy equipment, I didn't need a huge team to build something profitable, okay? I just needed to keep being real. And that was exactly 22 months ago to this month and today as I'm writing this, my personal brand has generated 8.2 million in sales over that time, cash collected. And I'm currently making just around half a million dollars in net profit every month. With a team of just seven people now, and still an 86.6% profit margin. We can talk more about that later. But here's the crazy part. I'm actually still using the imac webcam that I was using back then, or my iPhone, and often a cheap lapel mic that I bought off Amazon. It was actually $27, not $30. I don't script my videos, right? I don't edit my videos. And through all of this, I've accidentally started somewhat of a, of a movement as well. So if you watch business content on YouTube, you're going to see dozens of creators right now using that same raw, unedited style that I kind of pioneered back at the end of 2023 when my first ever Raw video went viral. And they figured out what I figured out. Okay? People do not want perfect. They want real. They want genuine, they want value. They just want to be told what they need to, to learn to get to the next level. And my morning routine now is pretty simple. I get up usually at 9am, order a coffee, don't ask why, I don't have a coffee machine. I order a coffee, it arrives, I get it. I come and sit in front of the webcam and I talk about whatever is on my mind. And those videos then turn into Instagram content. That content builds trust, and the trust turns into sales and more specifically, high ticket sales. And the business also runs itself whilst I'm sleeping and traveling or spending time with family. So instead of being trapped by complexity, I'm free now because of simplicity. Okay? And the best part is if I can do this starting from scratch in my home office, with zero experience in personal branding at all, I'd never built a personal brand ever before. Didn't even have social media back then, using equipment that cost less than a nice dinner. You can absolutely do this too. And I'm going to tell you step by step how to do it over the next five days together. Okay? So over the next five days, I'm going to show you exactly how to build your own personal brand that prints using my raw authority method. And this is the same system that's generated millions for me and millions for my past clients as well. No matter what you're selling, no matter what price you're charging or whether you've never made a single video in your life. By the time you finish this challenge on Friday, after that last session, you're literally going to have everything that you would ever need to start building the kind of personal brand that has people throwing money at you regardless of what you're charging or even selling in many cases as well. So let me show you how simple this really is, and let's get into it with day one. And let's start with the principle, okay? Now here's what nobody tells you about building a profitable personal brand.
The more that you try to look perfect, often the less that people actually trust you. And trust is the only currency that matters, especially when you're selling high ticket courses and coaching and consulting. Nowadays, trust is, is everything, okay? And the raw authority method, it's not about creating content, it's about creating connection through imperfection. Okay? So whilst everyone else is spending thousands on equipment and hours on editing and planning and scripting, you're going to do the opposite and you're going to make more money than all of them combined, just like I have, just like a lot of my clients have as well. And this isn't just some feel good philosophy that I came up with to make myself feel better about having shit equipment or not editing. This is a proven psychological principle that's actually been validated by decades of research and billions of dollars in sales. Because when people see perfection, and maybe you felt like this in the past, your brain kind of immediately puts up a wall because perfection feels fake, it feels manufactured, it feels distant, it feels unattainable. You know, subconsciously, you're like, I could just never do that. I could never get that level of perfection. But when people see authenticity with stutters in your voice, croaks in your voice, random pauses, background noise, bad camera quality, right? Even sometimes slightly bad audio, crunchy audio, or even you saying are now all of that stuff, right? People say this person is just like me, which is the. The amazing thing, right? And that's when the magic happens. That's when people start leaning in instead of scrolling past. So can you see just how powerful keeping things raw and keeping things real actually is psychologically? Right? That's the first breakthrough that I want to give you guys today. There's a lot more to come, so stay with me. Now, let's talk about this. What if I told you that the worst advice that you've ever received about personal branding came from the people making the most money selling you courses about personal branding? It's so stupid. Just think about this for a second. Every guru telling you to invest in quality equipment, make your content look professional, script all your videos out, they are simultaneously making millions selling courses to people who can't afford the equipment they're bloody recommending, who can't write so they can't do the scripts in the first place. It's, it's, it's not good. It's the biggest bloody scam in the industry. And I'm about to expose exactly how this actually works. Okay, so back in 1960, and just bear with me on, on this example, right, there was a presidential debate that changed everything about how we think about media and authenticity, specifically, and human connection, which is the root of building trust and making high ticket sales. Human connection. So Richard Nixon showed up looking like a movie star, professionally made up, perfectly groomed, wearing a sharp suit that looked amazing under the studio lights. And he'd spent hours in makeup. His hair was perfectly styled. His team were coordinated. Every detail of his appearance was. Was perf. John F. Kennedy, on the other hand, showed up looking like he just rolled out of bed after a long day of campaigning. He was tired, he was sweaty. He refused to wear the heavy makeup that television studios were recommending at the time. His shirt collar looked a bit wrinkled. His hair wasn't perfectly in place, and you could see the exhaustion in his eyes. And by every traditional standard of television, Nixon should have crushed Kennedy because of those things, right? You would imagine. The crazy part is people who listened on the radio thought that Nixon won hands down. His voice was strong, arguments were solid, he sounded presidential. But the 70 million people watching on TV, they, overwhelming, overwhelmingly believed Kennedy won. And it wasn't even close. Kennedy's flaws made him seem more human, more trustworthy, more like someone who actually understood what regular Americans were going through. Nixon's perfection actually made him look fake, like he was trying too hard, like he was performing instead of connecting. And Kennedy won that presidency by the narrowest margin in modern history. And many historians credit that debate as the single most important turning point in the entire campaign. Now, the lesson here is this. In a world of polished politicians, the guy who looked most human won the most powerful job on Earth. And fast forward 60 years, and guess what? Nothing's changed. Human psychology rarely changes. We're still wired to trust the imperfect over the perfect, the authentic over the manufactured, the human over the robot. This is why I personally don't think AI is going to disrupt the consulting industry at all. Because actually, more than ever, people are going to want humans over robots as we go more down the AI road. Now, coming back to my story. I learned this lesson the hard way. After spending about five months and over $7,000 trying to be the perfect YouTuber. I thought that that was what you just had to do. And this was a few months before I'd sold my last company. And I had this idea that I was going to build a big personal brand. And in order to do that, I needed to do it the quote unquote right way. And in fact, you might even have seen my first few YouTube videos. I've deleted some of them now, but there's still a few on there to this day. You can still go and see some of them on my channel. Multiple camera angles, nice editing, B roll, fancy thumbnails, one of those slider things that makes one of the cameras pan around. But I was an idiot. See, I wanted to start building my personal brand so that when I'd sold my company, I could start getting consulting clients to keep me busy in technically in retirement. And my plan, like I mentioned earlier, was to make a few YouTube videos, use them to get a few high paying clients, make maybe 30k, 50k a month, something, something small like that, and just enjoy the light workload and the cash flow and a sense of purpose by helping a few people to build and grow their businesses. That was my plan. So I bought a $3,000 camera setup. It was actually three cameras, not two, multiple lenses that people said that I had to buy. Three different tripods, the slider thing, professional studio lighting, about bloody. Three more tripods for the lights. Again, one of those fancy slider things that make one of the cameras pan left to right. The most expensive microphone that I could find, costing more than most people's bloody month rent. And I even hired a video editor who charged $400 per video to make my content look like it belonged on Netflix. I wrote detailed scripts for every video, practiced them in front of a mirror until I had every word memorized. And I remember doing that. So stupid. And I even took an online course on executive presence to make sure that I sounded authoritative. I thought my videos actually looked pretty good, right? They were crisp, 4K resolution, really good lighting, you know, made my skin look good. Seamless cuts that removed every and R and awkward pause. The production value was actually pretty damn good. It was through the roof, you know, multiple cameras, the whole nine yards. And they also got about 400 views each, zero meaningful comments, and pretty much zero business inquiries. Now I was booking about one to two calls a week from those videos. I was. And I did close one or two clients from them. But it was not the explosive start that I'd planned out in my head. And after about five months of that, I was very. I remember thinking, I remember saying to one of my friends, Leon, I was like, dude, this YouTube stuff doesn't work. I just can't do it. It doesn't work. And honestly, setting up the three cameras and lighting and the slider was such a headache that I didn't even want to make videos because it was just a nightmare to set the bloody whole thing up. It was horrible. And pair that with the pathetic view count I was getting. And I just thought, this is not worth it. It's just not worth it. And I remember sitting in my office one evening, looking at all this expensive equipment that I had around me, wondering if I was just kidding myself about the whole personal brand thing. And then one random Monday morning, everything completely changed in the space of about five hours. It was bloody crazy. I was running late for a client call that I'd completely forgotten about. And I'd also forgot that it was my upload day that day, Monday at 4pm that's the day and the time that I upload my videos every week, even to this day. And I had about 35 minutes before my call and I decided to record something quick just using my imac built in webcam, the microphone that I'd had sitting in my cup cupboard collecting d the little lapel thing. I just finished having a coffee with a woman downstairs in the building that I lived in who was making about 11k per month selling this knitting community thing, right? And I was feeling inspired that she'd hired me to help her grow her business and I wanted to make a video about it. I didn't write a script. I didn't even comb my hair or check if my white T shirt was wrinkled. I just went upstairs, I hit record and started talking about how I would make 10k a month asap if I had to start again and just sharing some of the ladies story that I just had coffee with the. The knitting lady. So I rambled on for about 20 minutes, sharing details that I'd never told anyone publicly and revealing what she was doing to make that money, including the. The numbers and everything that she was making. And when I finished, I uploaded it without even. I didn't even watch it back, without any editing, without cutting out any ums or oz, and without even checking if the audio was clear either. And if you go back and listen to that video, the audio is crackly, you can hear the aircon in the background, you can tell that it is like very, very, very raw. And I literally forgot about that video until a day later when my phone started buzzing with YouTube notifications. And that terrible video.
Had 37,000 views day one and it was still climbing. And the views weren't even the crazy part. There were over 400 comments. And people weren't just saying, oh, nice video. Yeah, this is, yeah, good, helpful. Just these little comments. People were sharing their own deep, well thought out stories. And again, if you go back to that video, there's something like 2,000 comments and they're massive, massive paragraphs. And this is one thing that I've learned again recently is views matter a lot less than substantial, well thought out comments. If you're getting substantial, well thought out comments on your videos, you better believe you're going to be generating high paying clients. That is one of the signs that clients are on their way when people actually comment with well thought out comments that have like taken them a few minutes to write. And people were talking about their ideas and their experiences and their feedback and everything. And they were writing massive stories, massive paragraphs, and it was just amazing. And the comments section had turned into this incredible community of entrepreneurs supporting each other and sharing ideas and sharing tips and strategies. But here's the real kicker. Now, at the time, my calendar availability was literally set 10 to 10, seven days a week. And it was wide open because I wasn't booking any calls. I was booking one or two a week before this happened. So my calendar was just wide open, right? And I swear to God, within 48 goddamn hours. And I genuinely mean this, my calendar was full, nine days out, 12 calls a day, no shit. And I've still got the screenshot to this day. Over a hundred sales calls booked in 48 hours. I could not believe it. And there were so many that I actually had to ask one of my previous sales reps for my last company to come in and help me. And I had to give him 15% because there were so many calls to be taken so fast. Now he immediately got on the calls with me and by the end of that month, January 2024, we'd done 364k cash collected, me and him on our own, all from a mistake of a video that I'd rushed out in 20 minutes with bad audio quality, grainy video quality, no thumbnail, and a text message style title that I thought of literally as I was uploading it right after I'd recorded it. And here's the Kicker, those sales calls didn't come in because they were impressed by the production value or because I seemed perfect and had everything figured out, but because I just seemed human and I'd been through what people who tuned in were going through and I'd done what the viewers wanted to do, and so on. And that single, unedited, imperfect video made me more money in one week than my previous five months of professional multi camera, bloody multi light slider, edited content combined.
And the aha moment hit me like a truck. People don't buy from perfect, they buy from human. And they don't want to work with someone who's never made a mistake. They want to work with someone who's made the same mistakes that they are afraid of making. I'll say that one more time. People want to work with people who've made them the same mistakes that they are scared of making. That's why people buy, is to avoid what they're scared of often. Now, as an analogy, think about water for a second, because this will will change how you think about content forever. Okay, so you've got processed content on the left, raw content on the right. Now here's the thing. The distilled water is technically perfect. No impurities, no minerals, no bacteria, nothing extra that could possibly be considered a flaw. It meets every technical specification for purity. But if you only drank distilled water for an extended period of time, you'd actually become sick over time. Because your body needs those minerals and it actually needs the impurities to function properly. Your cells require those trace elements to maintain proper balance. Your bones need the calcium, your muscles need the magnesium. And the flaws in natural spring water are actually what make it nourishing and life giving in the first place.
Your audience is exactly the same way. They're dying of thirst from all of the perfectly distilled content that's out there right now and more. Especially with AI. Especially, especially with AI. Okay? Every YouTube video with flawless lighting, every Instagram post with professional photography, every podcast with studio quality audio, that's all distilled water. I'm not saying it's bad, but bloody hell, if that was all that was out there, that would not be good. It's technically perfect, but ultimately it's unsatisfying because it lacks the human elements that people actually crave.
So when you show up raw and unfiltered, you're giving people those minerals that they've been desperately needing. Right? Authenticity, vulnerability is a massive one real human connection and proof that success is actually possible for imperfect people. Because we're all, you know, none of us are special. We're just all humans with brains. And it's just a case of learning. And sometimes putting that across is, is a really great thing to do. It's very powerful. The stammers are the magnesium, the background noise is the calcium. The moments where you lose your train of thought, they are the trace elements that make your message actually absorbable by people's brain. Okay, now I want to share a quote with you. Perfection is the enemy of connection and connection is the currency of conversion.
So let me tell you what happened after that. First RAW video changed everything for me. I immediately stopped using all my expensive equipment. I packed up the cameras, the professional lighting, the fancy microphone, and I stuck them in a closet where they still sit today in my cupboard in Dubai. I fired my video editor and started uploading everything straight from my imac webcam. And my view counts didn't just improve, they exploded. Within three months, I was consistently getting about 8,000 views per video. Some much, much more than that. And within six months, I'd built a seven figure business selling high ticket consulting, making between about 250 on the low end and actually close to about 500 on the high end. Cash collected within a year, I'd created an incredible video training program. I'd launched this multi tier consulting program that I now offer. And I was making more money than I ever made with my professional content and even more profit than I made in my old business, the one I'd exited to private equity, actually about three times the profit in the new venture.
But here's what really blew my mind. Other creators started copying my style. People who'd been making polished, edited content for years, suddenly started posting raw, unedited videos, not naming any names. Okay, well, some of the biggest people in the space who are now my friends and some of them are my clients as well, and I'd actually accidentally started a movement without even trying. And the beauty of the raw authority method is that it forces you to be human first and content creator second. And if you can do that, some people find it hard, but if you can do that, man, it gives you such a massive edge. Such a massive edge. Because when you stop trying to impress people and you just, just try and help people, that's when everything changes.
Your audience stops seeing you as just another guru trying to, to, to sell them something and start seeing you as someone who actually gets what they're going through. Someone who's been where they are and knows how to get where they want. To go someone who's made the same mistakes, felt the same fears, and figured out a way through that is when they start throwing money at you, regardless of what you're charging. Often as well. This is another thing that I've learned myself, and we can talk more about this later because they're not just buying your course or coaching. They're buying a relationship with someone that they trust. And trust is built through imperfection, not in spite of it.
Okay, let me let these guys in. Because whilst everybody else is trying to look perfect, and most people still are, especially in this, this space, people try and look perfect. You can be the one who instead looks human, imperfections and flaws and all. And humans buy from humans, imperfections and all.
So there we have it, guys. Okay? There's your value for day one. Don't be perfect. Don't waste time and money on expensive equipment making you look like everybody else, actually moving you further away from your dream buyers rather than closer to them. The most important part, for those of you watching this right now who haven't started yet, man, like I said earlier in the VIP session, make a mess, clean it up. Make a mess, clean it up. The most important thing, just start, just go, just get making what you need to make. And by the end of this week, after you've attended all five days with me, you're going to be able to start faster, easier, and begin crushing your competition and raking in views and leads and sales through your profitable personal brand.
Now, tomorrow we're going to get super tactical and we're going to start planning out your content together. So your avatar, your angles, your titles, all of this stuff. So don't miss tomorrow's session where we'll, we'll get into all of that stuff again. Avatar, offer platforms, all of that stuff. For now, I'm going to let this guy in who's joining 40 minutes late, don't know why. And let's cover a few questions that you have just until the, the top of the hour. Okay, guys? So if you have any questions for me, pop them in the the chat and I'll get through these with you guys now when I've got this out of the way. Okay, Serena, what was your number one takeaway from what we've just covered there? Oh, it was everything confirmed.
The reason why I bought coaching from you, Will, is because you sneezed on camera and did not edit that out.
Well, there you go. If you want to make high ticket sales, just sneeze whilst you're making.
But you know what? The fact that you've said that, I can tell that you genuinely mean that. Those are the little things, you know, the little, the little imperfections that people really love. So I'm glad that you said that. That's really awesome.
Okay, let's get into some questions. Okay, so let me come back up here to the start. Should I value make videos first from. Right, we've answered that one. How do I speak to higher income future clients in my content? How do I speak to higher income? Yeah. Okay, so N. Is it N. Enley, Are you still here, Endley?
Yeah, I'm still here. You got it.
Awesome. Dude. What. What is your, your offer or your niche?
Well, I'm a fitness coach. I like to say I do a lot more than that. But yeah, to give you something, fitness coach and I help men lose 20 pounds in three months and that's being conservative.
Nice.
Well, definitely get more than that.
Sounds like I. I should be buying your program. Okay.
Anyway, so to. To answer your question now, one of the. This sounds so simple, but it took me ages to learn this. Whatever clients you want to attract, speak specifically to those people. Who are they? Where are they? What are their pains? What are their problems? What do they love? What do they hate? What keeps them up at night? Design your dream person and speak specifically to them and only to them. Okay, so one thing that you could go away and do after today's session if you haven't done this already, is just design that dream avatar and look back at your content, both the past content and the future content. And just make sure, man, is it speaking to them and only them? And if it is, it's just a matter of time before those people find you and buy from you. It really is.
Yeah.
The reason why I asked you that, because I just started my business and because you're right, I definitely need to dial in on that. But then I realized how much more complicated that is because I thought I knew that person. I don't know, like.
How would it. What was your process on that? Like, you really just sat down, you just reflected, you just thought about, you know, you're. You're right person. Because just working on my business and I'm right in the beginning, I'm learning a lot new things. I'm like, whoa, I didn't know all this, you know, so it's really humbling.
Yeah, for sure. Well, for me, I didn't do this properly for quite a while and I was making a bit random content and I just paid attention to where the good customers came from where the bad customers came from. And honestly, after a while, I, I just, I sat down one day and I thought, right, who, who is my dream client? How much are they making a month? What are their pains and problems? What keeps them up? Are they male or female? Roughly how old are they? Roughly where do they live? What does their day look like? You know, do they have kids or not? And when I designed that and started making videos about that for that person, I got more sales specifically from the videos. Not more views, not more calls, but more sales from the videos. And you'll literally hear me in some of my videos. I say things like, now you might be thinking, blah, blah, blah, or you know, right now you're probably making about 10 to 30k per month. And if so, blah, blah, blah, because I'm speaking to, I'm thinking about them in my head, almost like I'm literally talking to them as I'm making a video. And it makes all the difference in the world right now. Just to give you an example, you might say something like, you know, I understand what it's like trying to get fit when you're running a six or a seven or an eight figure business, you know, and with that being the case, blah, blah, blah, right? So some people are going to hear that and be like, no, that's not me. Right? Some people are going to hear that and be like, dude, that's me. He's literally talking to me, you know, and it builds that, that connection. And they're like, oh, this guy's talking to me, you know, and it's, it's just, it's the best thing ever for getting customers from, from your content. That makes sense.
No, totally. I love that. And yeah, like, see, it's hard making content because I'm just looking at a screen, you know, I'm not talk, technically I'm not talking to anybody. That's what's difficult about this, you know, being authentic because I kind of feel like a lunatic because nobody's there.
I know.
This is why I, I started having a coffee whilst I was making the videos because it kind of relaxed me a bit and it made me feel like, oh, I'm just having a coffee, you know, I'm not, I'm not making a video. I'm just. And I tried to like psych myself into, into doing it in a more authentic way. And that was like a thing that really helped me. So try and just find a thing or a, or a place to shoot or an environment or a time or something where you just naturally feel a bit more relaxed or. Or in. In the. In the zone, that kind of thing. That. That can often help. Yeah.
And that. And that was that. Actually a little bit of my second question, like your prep. Because I know, like, you know, you just go right into the video.
Yeah.
You know, I did that in the beginning just to get something on YouTube. And then I'm like, I need structure. And now I'm going back, you know, full circle. But, like. So that's what you. You know how you prep. You just relax. Just get in there.
Yeah, dude. You know what? Some days I just can't make videos, man. They just won't come out. It's. It's so strange. And then some days I'll get two or three done in a day. Sometimes it's just. I'm just like on. On a roll. It's weird. It's like an energy thing. I have to be. I have to just be so. So strange. Like, I've just. Sometimes the. The videos are just in my head and they're just. The script starts to write itself and I get excited about what I'm going to talk about and stuff, and then I make the best videos. But if I just sit down, I'm like, I'm gonna make a video right now. I could. I can never do it. You know, it's almost like I've got to think about what's, you know, what am I even going to talk about? And then it just kind of starts going around in my head. Have you ever heard the thing, right, where when you read before bed, it kind of goes in more, you know, and then it kind of starts going. Going through your mind. Have you ever had a problem and you're thinking about it in bed, or you're thinking about it across your day and the problems kind of going around in your head? Well, I do that with YouTube videos. You know, I think of like a. Like a title or an idea, and I just leave it to go around in my head for one or two days and it just starts writing itself, you know, and then eventually I'm like, yeah, let's go. This video is ready to go. And then I just sit down and record. Keep it real. If I cough, I leave it in. If I mess up, I leave it in. If I forget that, you know, or whatever, I just leave it in so it's real. And then just get it on YouTube and forget about it, you know?
No, I love that, and I love how we have similar problems. But, like, that. That's amazing. To hear that from you.
Yeah, we're all human, man. We're all, we're all in this together.
And one last thing I gotta ask is obviously running a business, especially in the beginning, could be stressful. And I realized when I got on camera because I was just sticking out videos out there, I was just, I was bringing a bad energy. So, you know, I like, pretty intense. And sometimes I can be an intense person. Like, and sometimes I'm like, oh, I should leave it up there because it's authentic. But like, does it matter if it's like, you know, should I be authentically positive, like, get in that mind or just get, you know, give it to the people, like what I am, like, because that is real.
You know what? You know what? You've got me a bit there. Do you know who, who Ed Lawrence is?
Ed Warrens. No, I do not.
No, I'll check. Yeah, he's a friend of mine. He's my next door neighbor in, in Dubai where I live. And he's like a YouTube guy and he teaches YouTube, basically. Right. He's got a really good YouTube channel. And he said one thing that he tries to do is be likable. So he's like, you know, he said to me, I really try hard to, to be likable because then it's easier to build trust when people like you, you know? So on the one hand you could say it's fake and manipulative. Right. On the other hand, you could say it's a business strategy. And to be honest, I've made videos in the past where I was just in an angry mood, you know, I was just like having a bad day and I watched it back and I was like, geez, I look angry, you know, Like, I don't, I don't come across well in this video. And I'll remake it, you know, because I kind of. I mean, I think we all want to be liked, don't we? No one wants to come across like an. But we have good and bad days as humans, you know, so there's an element of that as well where sometimes I just try and like get in, get in a good mood. I just think about something happy, like, you know, a friend or something, what's good that's happened recently or something like that to psych myself up. So there's definitely a psychological element. And if you make a video that, where you don't come across well.
You kind of got to make that call. Yeah. And I, I would remake it. I would.
I love that. And that's great life advice too. You know, it's a reflection, you know, online, because yeah, I could definitely be intense and I take that into real life and that's hilarious how that works right in this. That's awesome. Thank you.
Big pleasure. Now that's awesome. Really good question, man. Okay, Selena, what's the fastest way to get to 100k? I'm guessing per month with an existing audience talking about exact pitching strategies. This is pretty easy actually. So. Selena, are you there?
Yes. Hello?
Amazing. Amazing. And what? Yo, how are you? Dude in the background.
Awesome. Awesome. So what's you guys offering? A nation stuff?
Yes. So we back then, quick backstory. We offered a beginner offer. How to build a business. Like how to actually run a cold page and build a business. We scaled that offer to 4 million. We stopped running that offer and then we built a new offer a few months ago, which is specifically for coaches because this is basically our best clients back then, like our best testimonials were coaches. So we were running a new offer or dropped a new offer for coaches. How to scale? We attracted a lot of beginner offers and this is more or less our bottlenecks. We're attracting still a lot of beginner coaches. And now we're in this, in this, in this position where like the offer is works and now we need to attract the right people and we just scale that thing fast. And I'm pitching in different ways, freebies, direct pitches, etc. But maybe there's a way or a specific pitching strategy that you say, okay, this is the one. We can just because you just named it with a YouTube video, right. Where it made a lot of money, which is like, okay, in a very short time. We do have to set up. We have set or we have close. Everything is there. But still, like we can't scale past for this new offer. Past 30, 40. No, 70k was the highest revenue now.
Okay, okay. And like where is the bottleneck? Where's the constraints?
Yeah, this. This is a good question. Yeah.
More qualified people.
More qualified people. We. We are about to make a vsl. That's the one thing is missing. I know, but still, we already made sales without the vsl. But I do think that's. That's one thing. Definitely. But still to attract like the high quality people. More of them.
Yeah, yeah. See, we were talking about this. Do you know who, who Nero Knowledge is? No. No. Basically a big youtuber gets loads of views. 50, 70, 100k views per video. But 99.9 of his traffic is complete, like complete broke. But 0.1 is phenomenal. It's people have paid 50 grand plus for an offer and that's all that he needs to make a few hundred grand a month. So what I'm trying to say is like, let's, let's take a step back. So you said you've got an audience of 100k people, right?
No. 1 million. 1.4 million people total. Yes. On Instagram?
On. On Instagram, 1.4 and any other networks. YouTube, email.
Yes, email, 2020, 000 and YouTube. We're just starting out, so.
No. Okay, Right. So what would I do? Well, if I had that amount of people on Instagram, I do have to say.
Sorry to interrupt. 1.1 million out of them. They're on a quote page which is related to women empowerment and business. And on my personal brand, which is just speaking to coaches is 22K.
Right, right. And what's the offer that you want to sell to them?
Helping female coaches get a business up to six figures. How we did it back then, female.
Coaches scale to six figures and you said like a female quote page or something?
No, that was our first offer back then which we actually scaled.
Yeah.
And now we just want to focus. But then within, when, when we scale, like in this frame where we scaled, we got the best testimonials from existing coaches that anyway reached out to us back then and these were our best testimonials. So we just decided to go with that audience for the new offer. That makes sense.
Yeah. Cool. If you said to me, right, well, I'm gonna shoot you in the head in 30 days if you don't make 100 grand from this audience. This is what I would do. Right. I would start by running retargeting ads to. To the audience. Very direct response, no bullshit, very clear written retargeting ads to the entire audience that know you. And I'm guessing this audience kind of knows you. Right. So that's the first thing that I would do. The second thing I would do after running retargeting ads is I would start messaging every single person, one by one, as many as you can per day with a selfie video, which is very similar to one of the retargeting ads, just calling them out, hey, just checking. This might or might not be for you, but you know, do you need any help with or are you thinking of insert about the offer? Right. And I would just hammer volume and get people to say yes or no. And then you're going to know straight away whether it's for the lead or not. And if they say no, forget it. If they say yes, have a conversation and set them for a sales call and get, get them closed. That's the second thing I do. And I'll just do as much messenger volume as I can without getting the account closed. Basically.
Okay.
The third thing I would start doing, talking about Instagram specifically is two, I'll just do two reels per day, specifically about the exact problems that I'm solving, talking to my ideal avatar as specifically as possible. Right. And so we're targeting number one, messaging outbound, number two reels, number three. And I would do number four every few days. You can't really overuse this. But at the start I would do problem based story sequences that get them to DM you a word to start a conversation. But don't pitch them, don't message a program, don't mention a course. Just talk about the specific problems of the avatar, how you've solved them or can solve them. Message me this word for more information. Get the leads to message you and again have a conversation and set them for calls. And if you do that properly, you could get tens of thousands in the bank pretty fast.
Okay, one quick follow up question. When it comes to the reels, any pit, like any indirect pitch there or just like to get the right audience.
The reels. So it's about problems that they have or would have or need help with about their situation. Yeah. And what I would do is right at the end of the reel, similar to the story sequences, no pitch, just message me the word this and I will help you. I will send you a free training, I'll send you a free guide, just anything to get the leads to come to me. Basically just kind of like hand raiser style content, really.
Yeah, that's what I do. Okay, perfect.
Okay. Yeah. I mean I do basically, I do this more or less already, but I do think it's just the volume as you just mentioned. Like it's just volume and reaching out to as many. Because if I do like for example, carousel, very specific to my audience, doing a pitch on a freebie that is very specific to my audience. I do get around between a thousand and six thousand comments already. But for some reason I think, yeah, I don't know what the bottleneck is, but I think it's volume.
Because we have such an international audience that even if they are coaches or in our target audience, they are probably.
From a third world country where they can't afford our price points. Therefore I don't make any sense to reach out.
But if they are from us or.
From Europe, then it's easier for us to reach out. But it's just like 10 of them.
Right. And that's the problem. Right.
So yeah, I think if you do.
The retargeting based on the location, that could help.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I mean what. Do you know what your message to booked coal rate is the second?
Oh no, unfortunately not. But I do say that from, from like qualified people. If you message them to book call, I would say at least 80%.
Okay.
From qualified people and then show up rate is around 99.
I mean it's 100 basically. But then if we do follow ups or something, maybe it's a no show, but still it's like nine, ten.
Okay. Yeah, yeah. And what, what should, what's the close rate on the calls?
My personal close rate, I'll be honest. Like I'm not, I'm not a good closer, but my personal rate is around 30% as a coach. And then we do have like we onboard one new closer. She has, I'm not sure because she just started out and then we onboard a new one today. So we need to figure that out. But at least like our expectation is at least 20 to 30 for sure.
Yeah. See these numbers sound good. So you've got a good set rate. Then you've got a good show rate. Then you've got a good close rate. So there's no bottleneck there because from booking them they close. So it looks like the bottleneck is just the first part of the pipe is just traffic volume leads to talk to and set to in the system. Right. So from, from, from what you've told me, this is what seems to be the, the problem. And honestly the best thing you can do is retargeting ads. And if you write them well like that always crushes. That always crushes if you write them well. So that, that would be my number one recommendation.
Okay. Do you have a video, a YouTube video about how to write those retargeting ads or in general like the framework or examples?
You know what, I actually don't. There's like a full training in, in my program about this, but.
I might, I can, I can make a YouTube video about this in, in a few weeks, but for now I don't know. No.
Okay.
No.
Okay, perfect. We'll try that.
Cool. Cool. No worries.
Thank you. I think then the other questions for me is just.
I mean, yeah, I mean it's another question but still, maybe we can cover that tomorrow or the other days?
Yeah, we'll get into it tomorrow. Yeah, 100% perfect.
Thank you.
Yeah, my pleasure, My pleasure. No worries. All right guys, so we're almost wrapped up for the end of this session today. I'm just going to cover one more question that I've got here before we, before we wrap up ahead of tomorrow. So I think.
Oh, there's more. Yeah, we'll cover that one tomorrow. So Omid, one quick question mentioned earlier. I want to help high achiever professionals who feel stuck and want to start over doing what they love. Right. Should I focus on this smaller, higher paying group or a broader yet focus on the smaller, higher paying group? Definitely. Yeah, definitely. Also, how should I position, package and price? Ahmed, where are you? Right here, dude. That's not a simple question. That's a 15 minute question.
Let's just leave it for the next day. That's totally fine. Just guy, simple question. All right, well we'll do it. We can go deeper on this tomorrow, but I'm just going to give you a brief answer now. Right, okay. Now one big thing that I've learned is speak to one avatar and do not, do not try and speak to everyone. If you speak to everyone, you speak to no one. No one's going to listen or buy. So choose one avatar, get as specific as you can and only talk to them. So should you focus on the smaller high paying group? Yes, you should definitely. Right now how should I call position and package and price? This positioning I would focus on selling yourself. Selling yourself and what you've done. That is the strongest positioning that you can offer right now is selling what you've done. It's the highest integrity thing. Right. In terms of packaging.
Pretty simple. I mean you're going to package it as a, I imagine probably a coaching program or a consulting service. Probably a coaching program for this, I reckon something like group coaching. One to one coaching training program, WhatsApp, group, Slack chat, some. Something like that, I would imagine. And for the price, you're simply going to follow my pricing paradigm that we talked about earlier. So what's the 12 month value? Write it down, take about 10, 15% of that figure.
Then what's the affordability of the avatar? And finally, does it make sense for you to charge that figure? Right. The only challenge will is about the, the value, basically how much value you're gonna make get after 12 months. Because literally how I'm gonna do to help them to quit what they're doing so, you know, and it start over. So it's going to be a bit challenging to understand how much value they're gonna get over the next 12 months in terms of dollars or pounds or whatever, you know what I mean? So. Yeah, yeah. So it's more like a fundamental emotional thing rather than financial, if that makes sense. Yeah, yeah. So don't forget it's the average 12 month value. Right. So you've got to think, what's the best case, what's the worst case? And you're just trying to go in the middle, you know, so. And sometimes it can take time to figure this out. You've got to speak to the market and do some research, look at competitors, all that. Okay. Okay. Let's just say 5k a month would be okay, more or less. 5k is pretty much the middle ground for most programs. It is, yeah. So that, that's about the average of pretty much the whole industry, I would say. Yeah. Okay, cool. Thanks very much. No worries. No worries. So, yeah, I'm just seeing these chat messages down here. I'm just catching up.
Yeah, I can see that. A few of you got the time zone wrong for this, so I just want to confirm the time. So it is. And this should have been said everywhere but 8pm Bali time for VIP, which is like two hours ago, 9pm Bali time for this session. And what I'm going to do for today, as a gesture, I'm going to give out both of these recordings. Okay. The VIP recording and the general admission recording to everybody as a bit of a. As a bit of a thank you. Honestly, I might just give out all the recordings if, if you're nice to me. Okay. And you ask some good questions over the next few days because it's, it's so nice to have you guys here and to share this stuff with you because I know it's gonna, gonna really help. So to those of you who kind of came at the wrong time today, just as we're ending now, make sure that you join the Facebook group, okay. Because I'm going to share all of this in the Facebook group. So if you're not in the Facebook group, I am actually going to get you the link right now. Okay. So because I'm aware there's about 60 of you that are not in the Facebook group yet. I'm going to get this for you now. Okay. So I'll put this in the chat. Thank you, cider, for doing that, by the way.
And also the clocks recently changed as well, so just, just be aware of that. So if you're not in the Facebook group. I've just put the link in the chat. Go and join the Facebook group. And what I'll do now, I'll upload both of the recordings and I'll put them straight in there so that you guys can see them, you can watch them back. And if you missed the teaching session again, you can watch it back. Okay? Be here on time tomorrow. I love all of you guys. And just to confirm once again, so it is 8pm 8pm Bali time for VIP and it is 9pm Bali time for the general admission session. Okay, cool. Well, guys, good to see you today and appreciate the time. Hopefully you loved it and enjoyed it. And I'll be seeing you guys back here tomorrow same time. So take care for now and I'll see you tomorrow. See you soon, guys. Thank you. Bye for now. Take care.
