Step by step how to make $466K/m with YouTube and a simple sales funnel

Will walks through the $466K month he made with YouTube, a landing page, and a call booking button. He cuts friction everywhere: short forms, everything above the fold, funnel links in video descriptions. Instagram reels and inbox help doubled his call volume.

Hey guys, it's Will. And in this video I want to share with you how I made $466,000 cash collected last month with pretty much just a YouTube channel and a white webpage with a short explainer video and a button to book a call. Now, a Guy made a YouTube video about me recently, a guy called Ryan Matthews. And basically he was just saying, how is this guy making so much money with such a rubbish sales funnel with these basic YouTube videos, unedited, unscripted, and this pretty useless webpage and a calendar.
And I had dinner with some old clients of mine a few nights ago and they said the same thing, Will, like how on earth, what is this new model that you're operating where you just keep things so bloody simple and so highly profitable? How are you collecting so much cash? What's the machine? You know.
How is this even possible? And what's even crazier is I know some massive youtubers with hundreds of thousands of followers that make 10, 20, 30, 40k a month. I know people that have either started these businesses or they have one of these businesses and they've got this massive crazy funnel, all these fancy colors and designs and massive pages and stuff and they are again, they're doing 10, 20, 30, 40, 50k a month. Very, very small numbers with all this craziness, all this complexity. And I just want to break down today how I'm doing this, how you can do this for yourself. Whether you want to build one of these online education companies or whether you have one and you want to grow it, there's really two key secrets and two key mistakes that I see people making. And I want to stop you from making these. And by stopping making these, if you do what I am about to share properly, then you're going to have the same amount of volume and velocity and simplicity and peace of mind and so on and so forth that I have right now. Very, very simple business, very, very lean team, pretty much entirely driven by this YouTube channel and a shitty web page with an explainer video and a button, Right? But it's a little bit deeper than that. But I'm going to just give you everything in this video so that you can do this for yourself. Now the reason I'm making this video is because I had a call, it was my first call yesterday afternoon and a guy got on with me, a brand new one to one client and he said to me, will, I have one of these businesses? He was doing about 40 odd K a month. So not big, not small, but he was Only booking a few sales calls a month. And basically his number one problem that he tasked me with was please help me book more sales calls so I can close more clients and grow the business. Okay, just realized my sleeve is going to annoy me, my OCD kicking in there. So the first thing I said to this guy was right, well, show me your funnel, show me your sales process. So he pulls up this page and this is very common. In fact, many of you that are watching this are probably making this same mistake. But he pulled up this VSL page.
And the first problem was the headline was pretty weak, The VSL copy was pretty weak, but that wasn't a significant issue. The significant issue was this. He had a headline, he had an explainer video, he had testimonials, he had about me, he had FAQ and there was a couple of other bits and bobs on there. And the book a call button was right at the bottom.
Now to me, if you want people to do something, make it obvious and make it easy.
Sorry, something just popped up on screen there.
So make it obvious and make it easy.
The last thing that you want to do is put your button, which is the call to action for the number one thing that you want people to do, which is the number one reason to the page in the first place. What you don't want to do is put that at the very bottom of the massive page. So I said to the guy, come on, dude, come on. And I showed him my page and I was like, look, everything is above the fold. So you land on the page, you don't have to scroll. The video is there, the button is there. That's it. Simple. So step number one, get that button, bring it up to the top, put it below the explainer video. Step number one, the next cardinal sin. I don't really know what that means, but the next sin that this guy was making was he had a massive 14 question application form.
Now if you ain't booking calls, that is not what you want. That's the last thing that you want. So you're gonna, you start, you're gonna start to understand what I'm talking about here. And I'm going to be sharing the first big lesson with you in, in just a second. That's going to tie all of this stuff together. So bear with me for that. But again, I said to the guy, if you want call volume, you are throttling your call volume here by having all these big hairy complex questions. So what can we take off? What can we get rid of right that's the next thing. And people come to me with this stuff, this problem all the time where they've just added to the business or it's not working, add something else, it's not working, add something else. And people always make this mistake. They always think more things, more copy more, this more that is going to give them more output.
What can you take away? What can you get rid of? What can you stop? I would call this simplicity, really just reducing complexity. One of my mentors, Sam Ovens, used to talk about this. Not what can you add, but what can you take away? Don't think, how can I keep it simple? Think how can I remove complexity? What don't I need? Okay.
So that's the first thing. Now second to that, I want to share one more example just in case any of you are also making this big mistake. Because I've seen this many times as well. I've been doing this for a very long time. I've built two eight figure companies back to back. I've sold them to a private equity firm. I've won this award that's on the wall for making 10 million in cash. This stuff seems obvious to me, but I keep seeing people make these mistakes. Like I just said, these massive, stupid, complex, colorful, overly designed goddamn funnels is number one and number two is this. So I had another new one to one client join a couple of weeks ago actually with the same problem. He wanted to operate the model that I operate. YouTube channel sales call, recurring high ticket. And we'll talk about that in a sec. And he was making YouTube videos and wasn't booking calls. So the first thing I said was, right, show me the, show me the channel. Let me just have like a look around. So I went on the channel and there was a link on the, on the home page of his YouTube channel with the link to the VSL. So I was like, right, perfect, great, that's really good to see. So you're doing that. Let's take a look at some of the videos. So I pulled up one of the videos and the description was empty.
Levels of stupidity that are unimaginable.
I was like, dude, why the hell are you not putting a link into your explainer video into your vsl, into your funnel, in not only your descriptions, but also in the pinned comments as well. Now I just want to caveat this. The more calls that you're booking, the more friction that you can add. The less calls that you're booking.
The less friction. You've got to take friction away and open up the throughput. Okay. You've got to think of these businesses like a scientist, like a scientific experiment and almost like a tap with water flowing through it. So for me, YouTube is like the tap and then it pours the water in. And the explainer video is a bottleneck, the survey is a bottleneck, the sales call is a bottleneck and on and on through the funnel, right? And you've got all these points of friction or not. And obviously in these cases where these clients come to me and they're not booking calls, I'm always thinking what calls complexity is present that either doesn't need to be or shouldn't be.
And when it comes to this, this new model of building one of these online education businesses that I've been working on over the last year, YouTube channel, explainer video, sales call, recurring high ticket with utter simplicity. No community, no customer support. We've had two refunds now in just above two years, which is something that really, really makes me happy because that speaks for itself in my opinion, which is, I dare say it's the best bait in this industry. Touch wood. Simplicity is actually one of our edges and you have to gain as many edges as you can to be as successful as you can. Simplicity is one of our edges. Now we've just talked about one of the main things that I wanted to cover in this video. Now we're going to talk about the second thing that we're going to cover in this video. If you're a regular viewer of my channel, you may have heard me say this in the past, but I cannot stress how important this is. If you just do this, then this is going to give you a massive edge in itself and this edge won't last forever. So make sure that you really pay attention to this and act on this because this edge is going to dilute over time. Now one thing that works very well for me and if I had to explain this in a, in a very simple way, I look at what other people are doing.
I look at, right, Most of my competitors have massive teams. Most of my competitors spend six figures to multi, seven figures per month on ads.
None of my competitors coach their clients one to one.
They have very complex and over designed sales processes. They have all these sops and fancy systems and complex follow ups and stuff. So I look at what everybody else is doing. Then I do the complete opposite. Right now I say that a bit tongue in cheek because there are things that you just have to do, like you can't take all the sales calls in the world. Yourself past a certain point. We do run some paid ads. I think we spent about 9,000 on paid ads last month and made about 60,000 back. So we don't spend a lot on paid ads, but we are hyper profitable on the paid ads that we do run. So I do do some of these things.
What am I doing? What am I doing? We do do some of these things, but I try hard to do the complete opposite. So I've got a tiny team, I've got barely any team members, especially in comparison to my competitors. We spend next to nothing on paid ads. We don't have any systems or complex processes or SOPs. We don't have a community at all. I've never had a community.
We don't do client support. Our higher level clients get my WhatsApp and I check that twice a day. But we don't do any email support, we don't do any chat support.
And when I tell people this stuff, especially the community thing, because communities are so big right now. So when I say to people I don't have a community and I've never had a community, it always blows people's minds. They're like, how can you not have a community? How can you not do customer support? But it's funny because a lot of people out there, they just do what everybody else does. And I've, I've been guilty of this in the past as well, where I used to have this thing where if I worked with a mentor or a coach, I would just blindly do what I was told, blindly do what I was told. If I was told to have an opt in and a VSL and a calendar and a sales call, I'd have an opt in and a VSL and a calendar and a sales call. If I was told to charge one time, I would charge one time. If I was told to have a community, which thankfully I never was. But if I would have been told that I would have had a community, I just blindly did what I was told. And there's a lot to be said for doing that because if someone is way ahead of you, you should do what you're told by them.
But since selling my last company last year, I really paused and I re evaluated this whole E learning model, online education model.
And it's caused not only a massive breakthrough, but it's the reason why we're doing such massive numbers with such massive profit and such massive simplicity as well. And it's the reason why people keep coming to me, these massive guys in this space working with me, coming to my mastermind and asking me, like, how are you doing this? What's this new model? And the new model is really peace, profit and purpose. It's just doing what you want to do, not what you're told to do. It's focusing on net profit, not just massive revenue numbers that you can brag about online like a lot of my competitors do. No disrespect, by the way. You know, you can do whatever you want, no judgment from me, but I like to just do my own thing and keep it real. Peace, profit and purpose. Because I just love these businesses. Change my life. If it wasn't for courses and coaches and mentors, I would not be here today. Fact, I would not be where I am today without the courses and the coaches and the mentors that I've invested in. Fact, I wouldn't be here. And because of that, because it's changed my life, I like to do that for other people, which gives me a sense of purpose, peace, profit and purpose. And just utter simplicity and a focus on what you want, not just what the market wants. What the market wants is incredibly important, but what you want. And I've built this business in a way where I love it and it's very, very simple. It's very easy, it's very fun, it's very profitable, it's very lean. And this is what I help people to do. And this is why I'm making this video, because I want to save you from these stupid mistakes that. I mean, some of which I've made in the past, but others, I just want you guys to not do this stupid stuff because you're going to make a lot more money, you're going to have a lot more fun, you're going to help a lot more people, you're going to have more of an impact. You might even be able to use your hand in. In these crazy ways that I use my hand in these videos. I need to put this thing away. I need to lock it away.
I would have made a great music composer. One of those guys with the wand, maybe in another lifetime. But if you just keep it simple. Wow. Is that going to help you? I can't tell you how much that's going to help you. Now. I just want to share one final thing. This might be the most important element, quite honestly, of what I'm sharing with you here. But just this final thing is this. Now, these businesses, they grow up to a problem or a bottleneck. And when you have a problem or a bottleneck, the business stops growing. It Kind of pauses and you'll hover around whatever income level you're at now. When that happens, if you have one of these big, hairy, complex businesses, man, it's so hard to know what's wrong. And if you're lucky enough to know what's wrong, it is so hard to solve the problem because of the amount of complexity. So again, by keeping it immensely simple, each change that you make is so impactful. And you can very quickly know, is it good or bad? Is it right or wrong? Is it profitable? Is it not profitable? And I want to give you a tangible example of this. Now. Last month, as you know, I made 466,000 cash collected with $417,000 in net profit, which was actually the biggest month in terms of net profit of my entire career in eight years. Which is nice. It's funny, when you don't need it, that's when you finally get it. But that's a conversation for another time. Now, last month, one of the things that was very impactful for us was posting one Instagram reel per day and hiring an assistant to help me manage my Instagram inbox. And that one change pretty much doubled call volume. So we went from about five calls a day on average to about 10 calls a day on average. We had a 17 call day, which was insane, but about 10 calls a day on average. And I can say that for a fact, because we track our numbers like, like nothing else. We know our numbers down to a T.
And we only changed that one thing. First of November, we started posting one Instagram reel a day. My assistant helped me out with Inbox, and within just a few days, it was just like, bang. So many more calls, so many more sales. And that was responsible for a big portion of that 466k cash collected. And again, when you keep things so simple, every change that you make is immensely, wildly more impactful and you can really feel the impact of it. But when you've got a big bloated team, you've got all these different funnels. 1. One new client came to me at three funnels.
He was running ads on three different platforms. He was doing organic on three different platforms. He had three different funnels. My God. My bloody God.
What can you remove from your business? What can you remove from your life? I don't want to go too deep in this video because it is a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm So I don't want to go. I don't want to go too deep on you guys. But what can you remove? What can you stop doing what complexity can you strip out? Get rid. Instead of adding, reduce complexity. Focus on simplicity, focus on net profit, not on revenue. Focus on good quality coffee. I'm only joking.
This is really good, though, Spanish latte.
And if you do those things I've just shared with you, man, you are going to have a lot more fun, you're going to make a lot more money, you're going to have a lot more impact, you're going to have way less stress.
Way less complexity, way more peace of mind. And it's just amazing how getting rid of this gives you so much more of the good stuff. Getting rid of the bad gives you so much more of the good. Getting rid of the complexity gives you so much more net profit as well.
That's the key. Stop adding, start subtracting. The final thing I'll leave you with is this. If you're struggling to start one of these businesses or you're struggling to grow one of these businesses, you have one of these businesses and you just can't grow it. There's a bottleneck, there's a problem. If you don't know what that bottleneck or problem is, get a coach, get a course, get a mentor, go to a mastermind and find out and then solve it. Or if you do know, then solve it. And if you're struggling to solve it, then you're either missing a key piece of knowledge or you're solving the wrong thing.
But if you do solve it and you solve it well, you're going to see a big explosion. You're going to see a very impactful rise in whatever metric leads, sales calls, sales, traffic, whatever it is. Do those things, you'll have a simple, lean business. You'll have a peace, profit and purpose business. And you'll have a lot of fun. You'll have a lot of impact. You'll make a lot of money. Go make it happen.
