Hey guys, it's Will. And I think a lot of us are in the wrong job, aren't we? We're in the wrong career, we're in the wrong place in life thinking are we doing the right thing? Are we going in the right direction?
Have we pursued the wrong career? Was there some kind of mistake when we were younger? And actually.
The school system was not there to make us successful.
But we've realized that actually it was there to.
Turn us into robots.
And it's not there to support our goals and our dreams and our ambitions.
And a lot of the world is engineered in a way to scare us, to keep us fearful, to keep us trapped, to prevent us from even knowing what, what we really want in life. That was certainly the, well somewhat the case for me and I feel like I've come a long way because I've been.
Right at the bottom. My mum worked at a supermarket her entire life, my dad but just bounced around low end jobs essentially and I've become.
Sounds pretty, it's just insane to actually say this but I've become the first ever multi millionaire in my family.
And I've done some weird things and I went through a period of being a famous DJ but actually I was making barely any money.
Now I just sold my last e learning company last year for multi seven figures. I currently own an online tutoring business that last month made me $424,000 in one month.
And in this video I just want to kind of share the story and share the realizations and the lessons and the learnings and the mistakes that I've made along the way because.
I at one stage was very, I just felt trapped and I felt stuck and I felt I'll Never forget.
About seven or eight years ago or so I used to DJ for a full time career. I actually DJed all over the world. I've DJed on Boiler Room. You can go and watch that, it's on here on YouTube. I was signed to a pretty good record label and I was making, I mean some months I'd make God 78 9K Someone's I bake 0 some months I make $700 Someone's I'd make $6,000 and I, I, I, I'll never ever ever forget this. And this is part of the reason why I think I've always been somewhat scared of money and or just overly frugal with money. I was living with my parents, I was upstairs in my bedroom.
I was listening to my mum and dad because the house was quite small so I could hear people walking around, I could hear the television, I could hear my mum making a cup of tea in the kitchen. I could hear everything. And I'd gone through.
Two or three months of barely making any money and I was applying for a job. I was making a CV and I was applying for a job at a motorway service station which had this little.
Cafe. And I was gonna work in, in the cafe for like, I don't know, 8, 8, 8, 9, $10 an hour, something like that back then, seven or eight years ago or whatever it was, I can't remember. And I just had this feeling in my stomach of how I just wish that I could make money and I just wish that I could just do whatever I want with my life and, like, make money and have fun.
And do something that I'm passionate about and basically just not have to work at this shit job that I do not want to work at. But it's my only. I mean, what else am I going to do? I did terrible in high school. Terrible in high school. So. And this is another thing, I'll never forget the day that I got my grades. My dad drove me to pick up the grades. I got in the car, I opened the. The envelope.
And I took out the piece of paper. Then it was like.
It was like.
C in English, D in maths, D in science, you know, and it was so. And I can't imagine what he. What he thought. He probably thought I failed as a father, you know, my son is stupid.
But I just. I'll never forget that. I just remember being sat in the car and just thinking, I've failed. I'm. I'm. I'm not. I'm not good. What. What am I going to do?
The only thing that I cared about was music. I loved, you know, DJing, buying records, making music, that was all that I really cared about. And I got. I got an A in art, I got an A in music.
But that, that doesn't really mean much when you're, you know, 16, 17 years old, I guess. Especially not to a parent, anyway, so.
And nonetheless, I went to college and I studied media, which is a useless degree. You know, it's. I mean, come on.
So that didn't really give me any job prospects. I could be a cameraman and earn, I don't know, some 20, 30k a year. I guess I could maybe work in film or television and just be a cog in the machine, and that might have been okay. Then I went on to graduate from college with a distinction, which is Basically an A in media, in making videos, in editing videos, producing, you know, producing media. And around that time I was doing graffiti. I absolutely love graffiti. That was actually one of my first ever entrepreneurial ventures was a graffiti magazine that I made all myself.
Stocked it in certain art stores in England on like a sale or return basis.
Made like three or four or five hundred pounds. So pretty much no money, but it was very fun and I was doing music and my again, my only dream in the world was to be a famous musician. But number one, I didn't really think deep down that it would ever happen. And number two, I wasn't thinking about money. I wasn't thinking about like, oh, one day I'll have to buy a house, one day I'll have to pay for a wedding, one day I will have to pay, pay and raise a child, one day I'll have to like pay bills and whatever. Because I was still living with my parents at the time when I was whatever age 18, 19, 20 years old. Then I went to university to study music, record production and all that I did was make music, go to shows, send music to my favorite DJs, try and get signed to a record label. And I just did music all the goddamn time. Now I was working at McDonald's at this stage. So from, I worked at McDonald's for only about two or three years and that was basically my, my main and only source of income. And I kind of, kind of hated the job, but it was kind of, I just messed around, I didn't care about the job. I just wanted to go in, do as little work as possible, get out and get some money and go and make, make music.
But it's funny, when you're young you don't. Well, things are changing these days. But for me, when I was young I just did not even consider like long term career prospects and the dangers of such a bespoke career. I wasn't thinking about money, income, wealth, getting rich. That was not any part of what I was trying to do. I was trying to DJ and make ends meet. That was really my goal was to enjoy making music, be well known for it and make ends meet and just be able to. I remember and I wrote this down, I've got this in a very old journal somewhere. But my ultimate dream was to rent an apartment in Manchester.
Get my hands on a second or third hand three series BMW and dj. Like that was my dream.
So it's just insane. A lot's changed since then. But yeah, and then I got signed in my I think it was my second year of university. I got signed to a pretty decent record label and straight away I got an agent, I got a manager. Within about two weeks I was DJing in Amsterdam, I was DJing in Sweden, I was DJing in Belgium, I was getting booked in New York, in Colorado, and I was DJing all over the world and making like 4, 5, $600 per show. And again, some months I'd do got 8 shows, 10 shows. Someone said, do 1, some months I'd do 0, some months I'd do 5. But my dream had come true and I was still living with my parents and I finally stopped working at McDonald's. The, the month that I got a manager and an agent was the month that I stopped working at McDonald's because I got two shows. One was in Sweden for like £400, the other was in Amsterdam. And I remember it very clearly because I took some of my friends with me and that was for like 3 or 400 pounds. And I thought, wow, well, these two shows will give me about what I was earning in a month from working two or three or four days a week at McDonald's. So I was like, right, let's go. I'm a full time musician now.
And then as time went on, I realized what a difficult career it was. And my dad would always say to me, well, what happens if you, what happens if you break a leg and you can't fly, you can't do the shows, you won't make money, you're going to be out of a career. What happens if, you know, God forbid, you go blind, you go deaf, you lose? I don't know. He always used to plant these seeds in my head. And looking back, you know, he was, he was doing his job as a dad and I'm kind of glad that he did that because it's true. And he used to say to me, do you think you're still going to be doing this when you're 40 years old, when you've got a wife, when you've got kids? Well, what happens then if you don't get any shows in a month? And this is when I started to think about investing in real estate. Because I thought, well, if I can just get one or two houses and rent them out, then I can put that rent towards my bills, take the pressure off the music, sporadic income, and kind of start to create a bit of a kind of foundation, a safety net. So music actually taught me a lot about capital management, about the need to invest and be safe and build wealth for the future to kind of just.
Start to give balance to a very unbalanced career. And as time went on I started to think, damn, I think I've made a mistake here. I don't want to be doing this and traveling all over the world When I'm 35, 45, God forbid, 55, 65. It's extremely difficult to balance the up months and the down months. It's hard to save money because the income is, is, is not that great. You know, someone's, it's zero. Someone sits 3K, someone's, it's $700, someone sits $9,000. But you can't, I mean you just can't, you can't rent an apartment, you can't get a mortgage, you can't.
You know, you can't buy anything extravagant. I certainly couldn't. I mean I'm sat here in a 1.6 million dollar apartment in Dubai Marina, that I own outright now. Which is, which is just, just, just insane.
But suddenly I started to feel like, wow, what am I going to do? I didn't have any like real world, you know, I couldn't get a good job. So when I found myself in this place seven or eight years ago and I was applying for this service station job, I just felt like.
What have I done wrong? Like what, what don't I know? What mistake have I made? What did, what should I have done better at school? Should I not have pursued music? Can I make more money as, as a musician?
Why are some people rich and some people poor? I just didn't have a clue about really proper capital management, investment, wealth value and, and why money exists. In fact, I've just made a video earlier today on everything that I've learned on that, which I'll probably upload before this one. So if you haven't seen that yet, go and go and watch that maybe after this. Because I've learned a lot over the last few years, over the last six, seven years of going from that, from very, very poor, lost, stressed, stuck to nowadays multi, multi millionaire. Millions of cash in the bank, millions of real estate owned outright. A business that makes me the better part of 400,000amonth net. Just tutoring people online over zoom and some in person. And I've learned so much along the way and I just wanted to make this video to stress two key points. So point number one is this. If you're in the wrong place, the wrong vehicle, the wrong job, the wrong career right now, well, you can change that and you change that by as simple as it sounds, learning and taking action and implementing over time. Because this is all that I did to get to where I am today. I just learned higher value skills, I learned income generation skills, did them and kept making mistakes and learning over a sustained period of time, which has brought me to selling my company last year for multi seven figures, building and growing and running the business that I currently run, which is called build, grow and exit.com, where I just basically tutor people online and help them to either build or grow or exit these online tutoring businesses, these online knowledge online coaching businesses.
And in my opinion, these businesses, I mean, they've made me all, all the money, all, all the wealth that I have, it's all come from, from online education.
And really it's come from being in a desperate situation and being forced to learn how to make more money and then how to save it and then how to invest it. And I've been very lucky to work with some really great coaches and mentors over the years that have just like slowly imparted knowledge. And I've just taken that and taken action essentially. So the first thing I want to share in this video is if you're in the wrong place right now, don't, don't worry because you can get to the right place. If I can do it, you to do it. If I can do it, you can do it. You've just learned that I am not smart, I am not special, I am not talented. I'm not, I'm just a human with a brain. You were a human with the brain. If I can do it, you can do it. Okay, that's the first thing that I want to share. And all it is is a case of knowledge and action over time.
The second thing that I want to share with you is centered around the vehicle that you use to make money. Now, if getting rich, if becoming wealthy, if doing something that you love is important to you, then there are some vehicles out there that will get you there a lot faster and easier. And there's some vehicles out there that will slow you down and actually make it very hard, if not impossible to ever get there. Now, I had dinner with a friend last night, actually a few friends. I do actually have friends. Okay. I don't know why I said that. I'm just going to keep it real. Had dinner with a friend last night who used to be a investment banker, used to work on Wall street, and he said to me that he was making a lot of money, but he hated his life.
And it just reminded me of where I was as a musician. I love my life, I love, I love the, I love the music.
I love the dj, I love the traveling. But I didn't have any money.
And my friend was talking about how he used to be an investment banker. He was making very good money but he hated his life.
And he discovered this online tutoring business.
And I won't say the, the niche in, in this video, but essentially he built one of these businesses. I think I can actually say this because I haven't given you his name. He built a porn addiction online tutoring business and scaled it to about a million a year in, in profit off the back of his Wall street job. That's how fast and easy these businesses can be built by almost anyone in almost any niche. But nonetheless I digress. So the point that I'm trying to make here is he was in a very good vehicle, all right for income, but a terrible vehicle for fun and fulfillment and ownership and control.
Nowadays he's in a vehicle that allows for massive cash flow. A lot of fun, being able to truly help people. This is the thing that I love about these businesses is they're built around helping people. They're built around adding value, solving problems, making people's lives better, helping them to just either move towards a skill, a talent, specialist knowledge or move away from pain. So one of my best friends has a stop drinking alcohol online tutoring business. He's making about 80, 85,000amonth. Another one of my friends, slash clients has a online knitting tutoring business. She's doing 15, 20k a month. One of my friends clients has an online fitness tutoring business. He's making multi six figures a month. I make this point just to share with you.
There is a way, there are vehicles out there like this one.
That can help you to very quickly and easily transition out of maybe a career that you don't want to be in, a job that you don't want to be in. An income that is just not going to help you get to where you want to get to in life.
You can do this. If I can do it. If all the people I've worked with can do this in every niche from fitness to trading to knitting to E comm to real estate to flipping watches to boxing, buying and reselling cars, on and on and on and on and on.
You can do it as well. And doing this is, has absolutely changed my life. It's taken me from.
Broke, living with my parents, wondering when I'll next, you know, have money coming in.
Through to Making.
An amount of money that for most people is absolutely unimaginable. To be making 300, 400,000amonth, income, 5 million a year, 6 million a year this year, with everything else factored in is insane. But if I could make any point, it's this. I am not special. I'm not smart, I'm not talented. I just learned how to do this and then did it and learned to tutor online and sell my knowledge. And in fact I even wrote a book all about this. If you haven't read it yet, you can kind of check that out in the description. It's called how to 10 million sell your knowledge and make millions. And it's just everything that I've ever learned so that I can just hand it to you for like things like $10 that you can buy the book for $10. I just give you everything that, that I've ever learned so that you can do this for yourself.
So even if you're coming from a place where you don't have any, you know, special, special education, like I didn't, you can take something that you love, something that you are passionate about as a skill, a talent, some specialist knowledge. Whatever it is, whether it's one of the things that I just mentioned, whether it's sport, I don't know, golf, painting, reselling things online, what, whatever it is.
You can build one of these businesses and it's because of the vehicle, because it's so fast and easy to start and build one of these businesses because you don't need a team, you don't need to run.
Paid ads, you don't need an office.
I mean, I started my knowledge business about seven years ago from my parents spare room. That's where it all started. I learned about this by accident on YouTube. And maybe it's the same for you right now. Maybe you're discovering this by accident on YouTube just like I did seven years ago. Okay, this is very full circle. I discovered it on YouTube. I started doing it from my parents spare room. Year one, I made about 24,000. Year two, I made just below a quarter of a million. Year three, I made 1.2, 1.3 million. Year two, it was, it was above two and a half. Sorry. Year four, it was above two and a Half million. And it's been a wild ride. It's been a wild ride. When you start making that kind of money.
It really allows you to make your. This sounds so cheesy, but it allows you to make your dreams come true pretty, pretty fast. You can buy your Dream car, buy your dream watch, move country like I did from England to Dubai, you know.
And do some really, really, really cool things. Give back. I bought my dad a car, I'm buying my little brother a house, you know, paid off my, whatever. You don't care about what I'm doing with my money, but you can do some cool things.
And I just hope that this video inspires you. I just really hope that if you take anything away from this video, just let it be these two things. If you're in a bad spot right now.
Or if you're in a career, maybe you're making good money, but you don't like your career. Like my friend, the investment banker that I just told you about, maybe you are making good money, maybe you work in an okay job, but you know that you could really do something amazing with your life and get extremely wealthy because of it. So wherever you are right now, you can change things, you can change your situation, you can change your life just like I did. And a lot of the people that I've worked with have as well. So you can change direction. That's number one. And when it comes to a business, because you are going to have to start a business, a business is, it's the only way to take control of your income and add value to the world and get compensated for it. There are very high paying jobs out there. Yes. Maybe you're even in a high paying job right now and maybe it's a golden handcuff situation where you're like, oh well, yeah, but my job is safe, it's secure, it's well paid. I've got a wife, I've got a kid, I've got a mortgage to pay and I don't want to let go. Well, you don't have to just jump into this straight away. You can keep doing that job, that career and slowly build a business. And it doesn't have to be a business like, like my own. It doesn't have to be an online knowledge business. It can be, it can be any one of many different online businesses. But just be conscious of the model. So what are the startup costs? Are you going to need a team? Are you going to need an office? Are you going to need to run paid advertising?
How you know, what kind of product do you need to build? Do you need to build a product? Because a lot of the people I work with, they don't even have a product. They just take calls over, zoom and deliver information one to one. Or they have a Facebook group or some kind of Online community or they have some kind of online training program or they do in person workshops for a day or virtual workshops for a day. So just be conscious of those things that can either speed things up or slow things down.
Because that's going to have a big impact on how quickly and how easily you're able to start a business, grow the business, get it cash flowing and really start moving in the, in the right direction. One of these knowledge businesses.
In my opinion, from what I've learned, it's the fastest and it's the easiest because anyone can start one. You just need a computer or a laptop and the Internet. You don't have to have an office, you don't have to have a team, you don't have to run paid advertising. You can start without a product and just either start a community or coach people one to one like I did. Actually, this current business, I started it, my first ever client was a guy called Oliver Denier. I did an hour per week with him for £3,000amonth. That was my, my first ever client. I think I was February, February last year. I think that Oliver joined me and I started this kind of business coaching, business consulting.
Business tutoring over zoom. That was my first ever client. And you can actually see his testimonial on my, my William Brown testimonials YouTube channel if you want to check that out.
But these online tutoring businesses, these online knowledge businesses have completely changed my life and they have for many of the people I've worked with. And I know that they can do it for you as well or for certain of you. These businesses might not be right for everyone out there. I'm not saying that they are, but it's certainly something worth, worth looking into because the cash flow is unlike anything. You know, just name me another business that you can start with nothing and be making 50k a month, 100k a month cash flow without an office, without a team, without paid ads. I don't run ads right now.
I don't know of any other business model out there that's this.
Simple. This.
Just low, low management. I was going to say low effort. They're not, they're not low effort. You've got to, you've got to look after your customers. You know, you might have to hire a sales rep to help you with sales. You might have to hire a assistant to help you with, with support. These little, little things, little costs. But I truly, truly, truly believe these are the highest profit, highest profit margin, simplest, easiest, fastest businesses on earth to start. And that's just, that's just, that's just my experience, by the way. I'm not here to, to preach on that, but that's it. That's, that's the story of how I went from, you know, working at McDonald's, getting pretty much all D and C grades in the subjects that mattered, letting my parents down.
Applying for a job in a service station for like eight, nine dollars an hour, feeling lost, just thinking like, like what, what have I done wrong? What don't I know? This is what I didn't know. And I just wish that I knew this sooner. That's why I'm making this video. Because I, I, I just wish that I had had this video back then. Because if I'd, if I'd just seen this video back then, I would be a lot richer. I'd probably have quadrupled the net worth that I've got today if I just knew this sooner, if someone had shared this with me sooner. And that's what I want to do for you guys here today. So I really hope that this has helped. If you have any thoughts, if you have any questions, just comment below the video and I'll do my best to, to come back to you and answer them. You might just want to go through the other videos here on my channel as well, because I've made quite a few videos now on again my journey, what I've learned, the other people I've helped, breaking down this business model, how to start, how to grow proof of the numbers. By the way, if you maybe don't believe the numbers that, that I'm doing, I've shared my bank account, I've shared my PayPal, I've shared my stripe in, in, in the other videos.
But if I can do this, you can do this. Okay? And hopefully this video inspires you and brings about that realization. And if I can just help one person through this video to go from where I was to something similar to where I am now, then this video is gonna have gone a long way and will have been worthwhile. So hope it helps, hope it inspires you, and I'll see you back here on the channel soon.
