3 Manifestation Principles that took me 8 Years to Learn

Aaron Doughty shares three manifestation principles from his eight-year journey from retail sales to full-time YouTube creator. Making something very important actually repels it; chasing love or money signals lack and pushes them away. Your self-image is a vehicle to outgrow, not a permanent identity.

Imagine that when it comes to manifestation, when it comes to creating your own reality, imagine that it can be so much easier than you think. Imagine that also a lot of the things that we've learned from movies like The Secret and even some other of the law of attraction teachings, while they can work for a certain subset of people, there are 3 different techniques and principles that I found for myself that have totally transformed my life that took me literally— 2 of them took literally 8 years for me to learn from the time I started my process or time of attracting what I want in my life. And that's when I was working a 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes. Every day I went in, I started at zero and I would get to sell and see the kind of feedback that I would get back and the kind of, you know, how much I would sell depending on my goal, my energy, was I playful that day? Was I very serious? Was I focused on my goal? Was I focused on adding value? These are all things that went into the kind of results that I would get. Well, 4 years ago, 3 years ago, I went full-time doing what I love and I did that using a couple techniques and a couple principles that have absolutely revolutionized the way that I've related to creating my own reality. And in this video, I'm gonna show you what those 3 are, save you maybe 8 years or more of learning about this so that it's easier than ever for you to really change at a powerful level. So with that being said, let's get into this video right now. Now, before we even get into the manifestation principles, the thing that I want to share is understanding the one thing that made all the difference in the world for me. I'm a big proponent of this. What it has to do is understanding this one concept. So first off, just to give a little bit of context, the reality I was in before I learned this was that I thought everything was set. I thought that my past equaled my future. I was working that 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes, and I realized this: I saw myself as an average employee. I saw myself as able to make a certain amount of money per year, and what I would do is, even though I was learning about the law of attraction, I was learning about thoughts create reality, I was thinking better thoughts, I was focused on setting more intentions, even though I had those intentions, nothing really changed too much. Yes, here and there I would notice little synchronicities, but then I read a book called Psycho-Cybernetics. I'll go ahead and put it right here. This book called Psycho-Cybernetics was written by a plastic surgeon who was able to acknowledge and know noticed that when people would get plastic surgery done, it took them on average a couple weeks for their self-image to change. But not just that, unless their inner self-image changed, they wouldn't change and feel like there was anything that changed even though the outside changed. So really what he realized is that there's something called a cybernetic mechanism, which means there's this set point that we all have for the way that we see ourselves. And if we see ourselves as only able to make $50,000 a year, then we will have thoughts, emotions, and, and actions equal to that $50,000 per year. And when I read this, what I realized is that I saw myself working at Nordstrom's in women's shoes at a sales commission job. I saw myself as an average employee. And every day at the beginning of the day, we would get a list that was put up on the back wall that we could all see what we sold and how we compared to other people throughout the day. So for the day before and how much sales. Normally the way it worked is there was this one guy that was always on top because he was the top salesperson and there was the rest of us and it would kind of jumble who was where, but I realized that there was a consistency there. I was consistently in the middle. Then I thought about it. I see myself as a mediocre employee. I saw myself as somebody that wasn't at the bottom. I was never at the bottom of the list really. I saw myself, but not at the top, like right in the middle. In that moment I became aware of my inner self-image. Then what I did is I began to change and question that self-image. Image, and I started to see myself as a top salesperson. When I went in at work, I would literally act and I would present myself— my body language would be that of a top salesperson. I would go around and help customers and assume that they knew that I was that kind of person, that I could help them the best and stuff. That was kind of the mentality. Within days, consistently at the top of that list because I shifted my inner self-image. Now, What happened is from that point going forward, life was very different. I started to see that my inner self-image, I saw myself as having ADHD. What I then did is I looked at that and realized I just have a lot of energy. So one thing I would do is I'd come and I'd walk barefoot on grass and I began to reframe it. Now here's what ended up happening. I ended up using that same exact awareness to go full-time on YouTube. I started to see myself as a full-time YouTuber. I linked up and started making videos every single day on YouTube even though I was working at Barney Barney's New York selling women's shoes. I went from Nordstrom's to Barney's, and for 2017 I decided to go daily. I was being a full-time YouTuber, and because it was coming from my passion, is what I was excited about, guess what happened? Within months I quit my 9-to-5 job, and ever since then I've been doing what I love. So self-image is the most powerful thing that you can transform, and that's going to be the basis of the 3 techniques that I share. So first off, let's get into the first one, which is kind of related to the self-image, right? The first manifestation principle that totally transformed my life, took me years to learn, is this one idea: anything we make very, very important, what we are doing is we're putting something on a pedestal and we're saying that this thing is not natural for my current self-image to experience. Now, for example, if you are dating someone and you're like, oh, I hope this date goes so well, I hope everything just turns out perfect, I hope they like me, What we are doing is we're saying, it's not natural for me to talk to this kind of beautiful person, even their perception of beauty, whatever that is. We're saying this person is better than me. Then what we do is we put them on a pedestal, we create resistance around them, and then guess what happens? They can feel that resistance. People feel what you feel about you. Let me say it one more time. People can feel what you feel about you. So anybody that you put on a pedestal, you're making very important, you're creating resistance. They can feel that resistance, and no matter what you do, you could be trying to say something funny, you could say a joke, and then if you're, if you're like dependent on what they think about it, they're gonna feel that resistance and it's gonna repel. Now in a way, the way to look about this is in the form of self-image. How do you see yourself? Is it natural for you? And is it natural because you have so much self-worth on the inside that people are gonna see that as well? This is really an inner game as well. This is all an inner game. What and how do you feel about you? Your relationship with you is going to be reflected in your relationship with others. So when it comes to manifestation, whether that's of love, money, whatever it is, if you put money on a pedestal, you say, oh, it's very important that I make this kind of money, then you're putting that on a pedestal and creating resistance around it. So the key to this is understanding that importance equals resistance. And think about it, has there ever been a time that you've put something on a pedestal, made something important, and then realized that it was butchered up vibrationally? This has happened to me many times and I catch myself. There was one time, even when I wanted this house that I live in now, I came, I looked at it and, uh, I really liked it. I really wanted to move in. Problem is I couldn't move in for like a month and a half because the, for some reason they put it on the website and it was like a month and a half till I can move in. Well, I was putting it on a pedestal. I really wanted, but then what I did is I let go and I surrendered because I realized I was putting it on a pedestal, creating resistance. Within days of doing that, of letting go, the people that lived in it— was a magician here in Vegas. He's like, you know what, I can see you really want to be in the house. I'll get out sooner because he was also renting a house. I'll get out sooner so you can move in because this was like his second house or something like that. So it worked out even better once I let go of that resistance. And there's been many other times that this has been something relevant for me. But first off, importance. If you're making money important, If you're making love important, anything you make important, you are creating resistance around. The key is letting go of that and realizing that it can be natural for your self-image to experience those things. For the second one, I want you to imagine this. Imagine that I'm here right now, and imagine that there's a dog right over here. And what I'm doing is imagine that that dog is just chilling, and then I go play with the dog. What I do is I get up, I go over to him, and I go, hey, and I start chasing him. Well, guess what? As I chase the dog, what is the dog gonna do? It's gonna naturally start running away, and that's because it thinks I'm playing with it. Now, in the same way, this is what a lot of people do, is they chase love and success, which is implying that those things are running away. I used to work with a coworker. We noticed that one of our friends who was dating this girl on the third floor at Barney's, we noticed that anytime he was— she said something to me interesting. She said, you notice that anytime he's chasing It's implying that she's running away, and it just switched. It just clicked for me. I realized that. Now, here's the key to this whole process. What are your beliefs about love, and what are your beliefs about money? Are you repelling these things because of your inner stories about them? Do you feel worthy? You see, people that have people that chase them, they feel worthy. Or not always. Sometimes it's an unhealthy kind of love attachment type thing. But in general, what happens is you will be more magnetic the more worthy you feel within yourself. The key to this is understanding that anything we chase, if we're over here and we're chasing this thing over here, we're implying that this thing over here is going to make us happy and that it doesn't already exist within us. So for example, money. What is— why do people chase money? Because they think money is going to make them happy. It's going to give them some type of emotion. Now think of this. The money may mean to you security, it may mean abundance, it may mean anything, it may mean freedom. Whatever that means, you can feel those emotions now. Once again, if we put this on a pedestal, that's the number— that's the one first thing we want to make sure we do with it. We're saying it's not natural. But secondly, if we chase it, we're repelling it. We're saying it is not natural for me to experience those things. Same thing with love. When people are wanting a love relationship What they are doing is they're chasing it, and when they chase it, guess what? It's naturally running away. The best piece of advice I can give you is to focus on your own inner relationship with money. Realize money is a symbol of the value you add in the world, and when you're doing your passion, you're adding the most value. And when you focus on that— how can I add value into the world— that is the better way to go about that, because money is a side effect of value. Money is a side effect of the cause. It's like when you go to a doctor and the doctor prescribes you something and there's symptoms, and then they prescribe you more things for the symptoms. It's because they're treating the symptoms, not the cause. The cause of the money is the value you add in the world and you doing your passion. The cause of the loving relationship is the love you feel within yourself, the first relationship, the most important relationship. So the best piece of advice I can I can give you that I've learned myself is not to chase things, to focus on my own inner worth and my own inner relationship to these things. I blocked money out for the first couple of years of me, uh, really learning this kind of information when I went through a spiritual awakening because I thought money was evil, money was bad. What happened is then I blocked it. When I changed my belief about it and I realized that, hey, money is energy, then what I did is I realized that then I changed my relationship to it. I was able to attract it into my life. You can't attract something when you think it's evil or you think it's bad. So that's the second understanding, the second manifestation principle that will change your life, that changed mine. Took me a long time to learn it, but it has to do with not chasing, changing your relationship and your stories about money, love, success, whatever that is. When you change that on the inside, that's when everything changes. Now the third one is one of the most powerful. Let's get into it right now. So the third manifestation principle that has completely changed my life, took me a long time to learn, has to do with understanding that the self-image you currently have is kind of like a vehicle. It's a vehicle that will get you to a certain place, but eventually you have to be okay with letting go of that vehicle, even though you might love it, even though it may have served you, and then get into a new vehicle. Now, in a way, the vehicle is also the belief system. So for example, when I first started getting on YouTube and I started making daily videos, I started getting positive feedback. I started gaining a lot of people paying attention to the content. I started getting a lot of comments saying, oh, this video's helped my life. And I started feeling really good about it, and I was able to quit my 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes. So I got a lot of positive reinforcement. Now here was the thing: I was working sometimes 60 hours a week on making videos. I was very busy. I was working very hard, and I was stubborn to let go of the belief that, for example, I could even hire a video editor. I was like, no, I got to do it all myself. It's all special. That was the perspective. And this is what ended up happening. I developed a belief system that said that I had to work hard to be successful. Work hard, not just work, but work hard. Now, taking physical action has definitely served me. It still serves me to this day. I think it always will because I love what I do. Now, it was something I needed to hear back in 2017 when I was working that 9-to-5 job because I was like, I had this grandiose vision that I was gonna meet Tony Robbins and I was gonna meet these people and they were gonna put me on and they were giving me this opportunity. That was my thought. But then I realized, wait, I gotta actually be the change that I want. I gotta actually make the videos and stuff like that. And then as I set myself up that way, I created opportunities that allowed me to go full-time. Now, action has served me in a very powerful way. The issue is, is that that hard work was a mentality that I began to develop. And then it was to the point where I wasn't really enjoying that life, life that much. I was working like all day, every day. I was always looking to the future. I wasn't actually able to just go— and even my health, like I was eating super strict and all this stuff. And I realized that I was creating this rigidity that made life not so much fun. What I had to eventually do was let go of the belief of hard work. So realize this: This is the third tech manifestation principle: all truths are true. I believed in hard work, that became a self-fulfilling prophecy. I still believe in that in a way. I believe that work doesn't have to be hard, but I believe in taking action. I love taking action, and that's something that I continue to do. Now, the thing with this that's very important to understand is that there's gonna be times you have to let go of certain things, and it's gonna feel scary. I had to let go of the 9-to-5 job that gave me comfort even though I didn't really enjoy it completely. It gave me comfort and security and it was certain, something I was certain of. Then even now I've been on YouTube for 3 years. The goal of first was to reach a million subscribers. We've hit that now. And just in general, the key is for me to focus on different aspects. I'm not just only focused on YouTube. I want to do live events when I can do live events, but like stuff like that, right? which means I have to let go. I had to let go of doing daily videos on YouTube. Me letting go of doing daily videos on YouTube was scary. No kidding, because the self-image was like, nope, this is who you are. You're the, you're the guy that makes YouTube videos. But I'm like, well, I don't want to just be known as a YouTuber my whole life. I want to create and meet people in person. I want to do live events. I want to do and write books or this other stuff, you know what I mean? So I've had to let go of that a little bit so that I can wire in something new. So realize that it's all true and it serves you to a certain point, but at a certain point it may be and be the most resonant for you to let it go. So the best advice I can give you is that all truths are true, but the key to this is letting go of what no longer serves and realize that it may serve you for a period of time, but then as you let it go, you'll feel more empowered. I've had to step into this unknown of me letting go of making daily videos, kind of scary, but there's other opportunities that come behind that. So that is one of the best things that has really changed my life. And if you didn't know as well, if you want to, the other thing that's really changed us a lot is understanding vibration. What is our vibration? When we change our vibration, we change our life. Talk about different levels of consciousness. The more aligned you are, the more you are feeling love or you're feeling in your passion, the more contagious your energy is and the more people feel that energy off of you.
