the power of your repelling side & why it makes you magnetic AF

In this Instagram‑Live‑to‑YouTube session Aaron Doughty explains that everyone is already magnetic, but most people are attracted to relationships that keep them on “eggshells.” He uses the magnet metaphor – a magnet has an attracting side and a repelling side – to illustrate that embracing the repelling aspect (the part of us that pushes people away) frees us from old childhood conditioning. Doughty identifies six core childhood patterns (over‑giving/people‑pleasing, hyper‑independence, lone‑wolf, invisibility, perfectionism, and the “self‑reliant”/no‑need‑anyone stance) that cause self‑abandonment. He argues that these patterns make us absorb others’ tension, which drains us. Instead, he frames tension as a "transformational gift" that we should let others sit with, rather than trying to fix. He teaches a four‑step process – see the pattern, feel the underlying energy, free the tension, shift the pattern – and recommends practical tools such as breathwork, expressive movement (e.g., hitting a pillow), and the “frame technique” to release repressed rage and regulate the nervous system. Throughout, he promotes a free three‑day “Magnetic You Challenge” (pattern work, breathwork, identity wiring) and an upcoming live event in Sedona, positioning these as opportunities to practice the described methods. The overall message is that by owning our repelling side, releasing repressed emotions, and allowing others to experience their own tension, we become a more authentic, polarizing, and truly magnetic version of ourselves.

You are already magnetic and do not have to try to become more magnetic. When you think of a magnet, it will attract to it, and when you turn that sucker around, it will repel away. And the thing to understand is if you go watch this video, there is a whole new level of your energy when you begin to own the repelling effect on that of the magnet. When you begin to accept and let other people sit with tension, and you begin to choose you and accept you regardless of what other people think, you will begin to become more free. So if you find yourself falling back into old patterns or attracting controlling people in your life that you feel like you're on eggshells around, if you attract certain people you feel like you need to please, and you find that you don't attract reciprocal relationships of people that really. See you, hear you, and are present with you. This video will show you how to break out of the spell, how to break out of the deep hypnosis that's been going on since childhood. Like, think about it. There are certain people you're around, like think of your best friend. You give yourself permission to be the most weird and accepted version of you around them. And then you say, I like being around this person. But what you really like is you like the person that you let yourself be around them. Then imagine people from your life that you consider to be authority, or you want them to like you, or you want to ease their tension, or you don't want to disappoint them. When there's that energy, you are then on eggshells. You are then in a pattern. You then abandon you. And what happens is then you don't like being around them, but part of it is you don't like the version of you you think you have to be around them. Now, when you begin to own this part of you, your whole entire life will transform. People will respond to you differently. You will own something deep inside of your own nervous system, and you'll find yourself feeling more confident, more present to the moment, and less controlling of the outcome. So in this video, I'm gonna show you step by step how to go through a transformation that will allow you to be the most magnetic version of you. To process the ammonia, the energy, the patterns from the past. And from this video moving forward, I believe it will plant the seeds of transformation where you begin to wake up out of the spell of the pattern. So this video is from an Instagram Live that I did. It was one of the most lively, fun Instagram Lives I've ever done that goes really deep on this and many different layers. Took on a life of its own. It's got some characters in it. It's very interesting, but I think it's one of the most powerful videos and that's why it's coming here on YouTube. So I had people in the comments literally saying, please put this on YouTube. So here we go. So go and watch this video, watch it to the end, watch what happens in 20 days as a result of simply applying what I share with you in this video. So one of the things you want to become aware of here is your relationship to the patterns in your life and who you're attracting in. You know, it's interesting though, you— we say If you prioritize being in a calm, regulated nervous system, you'll attract other people who have a calm, regulated nervous system, but you'll also still attract people who have a chaotic nervous system who seek shelter in your aura. And what can happen is that that can pull you back into the chaotic energy. But the thing to realize here is often what happens in this whole, like, regulated nervous system, chaotic energy is there is a create— there is a creation of a villain-victim dynamic. It's like, they are causing me to lose my frame. They are causing me to do this. I need to protect my energy. Which creates patterns of like Eggshells and all of this stuff. So there's actually a layer deeper here, and I think it's where we learn, like, certain people you attract into your life are because they're in alignment with, like, the energy that you tolerate, or there's unresolved energy there. But I think certain people you attract into your life as well is that it's not always, I need to, like, get this person out of my life if the energy's out of balance. It could be that some people in your life, the key is standing in your own frame of reality and choosing to be yourself regardless of what they do. Meaning it's not your job to mitigate their tension. Their tension is not your thing to manage. Because think about it. There are certain people you're around where you give yourself permission to be the most authentic you, right? And then there's certain other people you're around that you might put on a little bit of a pedestal, think they're really, really cool. You might play out that eggshell energy or something. I mean, you really are— we all are different versions of ourselves around different people. Like if you were the super goofy, um, kind of crass, uh, sarcastic person around certain friends, but then you're like that in a certain, you know, you meet someone for the first time and it's a new job or something like that, or a client, you're not necessarily going to say inappropriate things, right? One person you really enjoy being around where you could be the most authentic kind of weird you But there's other people that you're not that version of you with. Now, part of the key here is though, for anyone that wants to completely transform the energy from the inside out, is understanding that some people in your life that you feel you can't be the real you around, it's not just get them out of your life because you don't give yourself permission to be a certain way around them. It could be learning that their tension is their thing to manage and that you being the real you allows people to actually experience the gift that you are. Like, if you aren't being the real you around certain people, you are robbing other people from knowing the real version of you. That is a gift. Even if you think that gift is like might cause tension in people. So, don't rob people from knowing the real you by pretending to be this version of you, which was a childhood pattern from the past. Like, let's look at abandonment for a moment. Self-abandonment for a moment. Very simply. When you are caveman style, you ready? Caveman explanation: when you around close friend, you give you permission to be you. Okay? You just free you. You have fun. You play. Yay! When you around people that aren't best friend that you put on pedestal, people that reflect old pattern from childhood, you constrict and be kind of weird. You overgive. You please. You perfectionist. You try to. You self-reliant. No need no man. You self-reliant. No need no woman. You are independent. Yes. Strong in own frame. No need no one else. But you see, here's the thing. That's a childhood pattern, right? So when you around Friend who love you unconditional, you express real you. Okay? You have fun. Then you say around friend, I like you. I be around you more. But reason I like you is because I give myself permission to be me around you. So not just I like you, I like version of me I get to be with you. Then you have someone else that represents a childhood pattern from the past, and ooh, my butthole constrict. I can't be real me. I afraid stakes are high. You may judge me. I want your disap— I do not want to disappoint you because your tension is my tension. There are conditions to love here. With my friend over here, no condition. I be weird. With you over here, I must be perfect. So the difference between these two energies—it's not just my friend allows me to be me, and this person that represents an unresolved childhood pattern does not allow me to be me. But part of problem is that person over there reflects back unresolved energy. That unresolved energy has you abandon you. You abandon you through. Overgive. I give, then you worthy, you love me forever. Yay! You hard to please. I please you, you never leave me. I mitigate your tension. I feel responsible because childhood I felt responsible. Then you love me forever. Yay! Hyper-independent, right? These are the different 6 core patterns that I teach, by the way. Hyper-independent. I need no man, no woman. I self-reliant. I go in my cave and I make success because success makes me worthy. Okay, I don't need you. You want me to be self-reliant so I have no needs. Okay, I also lone wolf, don't need no one else. I need no man, I need no woman. Okay, so that's the, that's the, the childhood pattern of self-reliance. Invisible. I invisible, you no see me. Attention in childhood equals bad. Okay, so I be over here. I don't want you to feel small, so I will not shine too bright. Okay, so these are all— that's invisible pattern, right? These are all different versions of core patterns where you abandon yourself for who you think you need to be for other people in your life. Okay, here's the joke of the whole thing. Other people in your life, they— the version you get to be around them is the thing that you enjoy or don't enjoy, but it's really the permission you give yourself. There are certain people that you're around that when you start to give yourself permission to be real you, they may be with tension. But that tension, not your thing to manage. Now I can't help but stop, but I just keep talking to the caveman pattern. Their tension, not yours to manage. A lot of the times we abandon ourselves when we believe we are responsible for what someone else thinks or for whatever tension they feel. But remember, if you are being the overgiver, that's not who you are. I overgive, you love me forever. I people-please, you love me forever. No, that's not really you, okay? That's a pattern. That's a pattern. That's like an act that you've— that you learned in childhood, but it's not really you. And in fact, you must abandon you to then try to make them happy. But it actually— you think it makes them happy, but this part of you, because it's not the real you, you you are robbing people from knowing the real authentic you. You are robbing people from other people learning lessons as well. So think about it like if your pattern is overgiving, you will attract— tend to attract people who overtake. And if people are overtaking or are super like unaware overtaking, there is many times a rescuer-victim dynamic going on or something like that to where then You are robbing them from doing their own work. You are robbing them from learning their own lesson. And sometimes, let's get it, let's get it, let's be honest here. Sometimes the best lesson you can give someone else is for them to sit with the tension at the consequences of the actions they've made. Letting people sit with tension can be a very powerful way for them to transform. I've seen it happen before where sometimes I remember there was this one time, there was this person where something happened and there was this experience where like someone else wanted to alleviate the tension. Alleviate the tension. Oh, I don't want you to feel this way. Someone was making a case to someone else and expressing how they feel. And then someone else kind of under the more people-pleasing dynamic was like, It's okay. I'm sure you'll learn from it. No, let them sit with it. Let them sit with the tension. They can handle it. Because the other thing that happens in this dynamic is if you mitigate the tension from other people, you are robbing them of the transformational tension that is necessary in their life to make a shift. So letting people sit with tension Is actually a gift. It's just that as a kid, if you learned that your worth was in direct proportion to your ability to overgive or please, you think that tension is bad. So, you, in a way, it's like tension is a gift. Okay? Imagine it. Attention is this beautiful gift. But what happens is it's like you could give that gift to someone, not with the intention of like, being some controlling, assertive, like aggressive person. But that gift could be given to someone. And as a people pleaser or an overgiver, you steal the gift because you think of it as not a gift. You think of it as like something bad. The gift is bad. I won't take the gift. I steal gift. I then feel burdened. Why do I feel so drained when I'm around certain people? You are going around subconsciously stealing the transformational tension of a gift from other people because you think that they can't handle it or you think that it's something bad for them. Letting people sit with tension is a very powerful way of letting people actually transform. But when you believed as a kid it was your job to mitigate tension, no wonder you've— but no wonder you feel drained when you're around people. You are a transformational gift stealer. Think about it. Like if you imagine it's Christmas or some holiday and there's all these gifts around and one of them is labeled transformational tension, and then you're like, my siblings can't handle it. This is mine. I will take care of it. I will take care of it. No, it's a gift, but you don't think of it as a gift. I will hard. I am Cookie Monster that that gobbles up all the transformational tension, and then I say I'm bad with tension. You not bad with tension, boo-boo. You not bad with tension. You just hold it on the inside and don't think you can express the tension. So your next breakthrough might be to develop a new relationship with the gift of tension. And guess what? You being the most authentic, you being the most authentic, real version of you will mean that you let people sit with tension And that you are polarizing. When you are the real you, you will polarize people. That's not a problem. Caveman version, right? That— no problem. It's not a problem if you let people sit with tension. It's not a problem if you're polarizing. In fact, to be polarizing is good because think about a magnet. A magnet attracts things powerfully, and if you turn that sucker around, it will repel Powerfully, but people are many times ashamed of their polarity. They're ashamed of their power. I don't want people to feel tension. I will mitigate. I will gobble up all the tension, the transformational tension in the room. Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom. It's like Pac-Man. Nom nom nom nom nom. Do you see the difference here? Your gift in the world is you expressing the real you and letting people sit with that. Not needing to manage their emotions or change how they feel or get them on board. If you can accept that just like a magnet has a repelling side, you flip that sucker around, it's like boop. Imagine the magnet feels ashamed. It's like, huh, some things get pushed away. Let's be honest here. Do you want to be a magnet to narcissistic people?
No. Hmm?
People will say, I want to be a magnet. I want to be magnetic. You're already magnetic. You're magnetic to something. You just might be magnetic to people you feel like you need to walk on eggshells around. You might be magnetic to controlling people. You might be magnetic to high-demand people that you feel you're going to disappoint. You're already magnetic to something. You don't have to try to be more magnetic. The key is to own more of the unresolved energy from childhood that might be attracting these unresolved childhood patterns into your life. So that you can subconsciously resolve them. Resolve them.
Don't you just want to resolve them? Why do you just keep holding them everywhere?
I will mitigate tension from everybody. Not knowing that those things are gifts. Transformational tension is a gift. Stop robbing people of the gift of you being the real you. Accept that you will polarize people. Accept not everyone's gonna vibe with you. If you can accept that, you will be more free. So let's, okay, the deepest layer of this video, I'm really enjoying this flow state 'cause there's like new content coming through right now. You being the most magnetic version of you to regulate your nervous system. The thing that is missing for many people is the ability to express and release the energy from the body. Because if it's not expressed or released from the body, it will create repressed energy, which will attract the negative sides of the unresolved energy from childhood. So for example, for example, you ready? Are you ready? For example, if you normally are like, someone else says something and you feel inside of your body and you're like, oh, I don't like that, right? Oh yeah, it's fine. Okay.
Yeah, you know, everything's great. Yeah.
That's not you. That's not you. That is the pattern that comes out.
That's very agreeable. Hey guys, I'm so agreeable. Hi.
But that is— you catch yourself in the pattern. Express how you really feel. For many people where tension was not good in the childhood, there is a certain level of unprocessed rage. Under the surface, rage. Like Hello Kitty in Lego Movie, rage. If you were to tap into that rage and let yourself feel it, you can let yourself feel it through breathwork. You can let yourself feel it through hitting a freaking pillow. You just get a little pillow and you do that over and over again. Release some of that rage. Okay? Instead of keeping it out, because if you don't express that rage, not to say you have to express it at people and hurt people, I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is if you don't give yourself permission to feel that unresolved energy, rage, or energy from childhood, it will stay locked inside of your body and it becomes self-inwards reflected. Like you turn it towards the self. Rage for every time I wanted to say no but said yes. Rage for every time something else happened. Oh yeah, it is a Stuart voice. You're right. I was like, what is that voice?
Ah. Yay! Look what I can do. Yay!
Sometimes when I get into these flow states, these little different characters kind of like come through. But remember, that's kind of like there's a part of you that's kind of like, Stewart, like, I just want to ease tension in your life.
If you did not feel tension, I would feel good. Haha. I will ease your tension.
That's not real. That is the old childhood pattern. That part of you wants to see Wants to feel seen, heard, soothed, and nurtured, and that part of you wants permission to feel rage. Rage towards mom and dad, rage towards siblings, rage towards the past of who you believed you had to be to hold it together for everybody else. The freaking rage. But nope, rage is bad. Anger is bad. So instead, I'm just always going to be happy and excited. I'm just always gonna— I'm just always gonna be that positive person for people, which is not the same as being in a calm, regulated nervous system because there's a whole bunch of chaos under the surface. See the difference there? Are you guys seeing the difference? Okay. So if you want to become free to be the real you, what do you need to do? You need to do a lot of stuff and perform and be perfect. I will then like you and possibly love you. Perfection is also attributed to doing. Who do I need to do? What do I need to do? I need to do more if I want to achieve more. I need to do, do, do, do, do. There's a certain level of being here. Okay, so, and by the way, for all of you listening right now, tomorrow begins a 3-day transformational process for free. It's called the Magnetic You Challenge. We're doing breathwork on day 2. We're doing pattern work on day 1, and we're wiring in at an identity level the most magnetic you on day 3. It's free. Comment magnetic. I'll send it to you if you wanna join. Today's the last day to join before that because we start tomorrow. Anyways, so what's your big— what's your biggest insight so far?
Okay, so Let's see.
So when we talk about— so let's recap a couple of the main ideas here around the biggest transformational things and the biggest opportunities if you're watching this video right now that you could begin leaning into. Okay? So remember, go back to the caveman thing for a moment. When I round friend, I be me. I give myself permission to express the real me. I like my friend, but also I like version of me. I get to be round friend. Okay. That's a part of it. Then this person over here is me. They allow me to feel unresolved energy from childhood. I on eggshells rounded person. I put on pedestal. I project authority. Okay. There it is. Okay. I don't like person. I have to be round this person cuz I feel drained. Well, you feel drained because you aren't giving yourself permission to be the real you. Now, the mix between the abandonment you and the real you is that there's a pattern here. That pattern might be, I overgive. I give, give, give. You love me. Well, notice I look up here, this authority, cuz unresolved energy from childhood. Parents equal authority as kids. Okay? I people please. I, oh, I don't need no man, no woman. I independent. Okay, I invisible. You no see me. You no see me. Oh good. These are all just my. These are all my reenactments of different childhood patterns, which include a simple, a certain level of self-abandonment. Then there's also the energy. There's also the energy around owning your relationship with tension. Part of it is you have tension. I ease your tension. Who I need to be for you. You see the difference there? I must abandon myself. Who do I have to be as kid to receive mom, dad love? Whatever that is, that pattern that block love, that pattern that block abundance. And what you're being called to is to begin breaking that pattern. How do you break that pattern?
How do you do it? How do you break the pattern?
How do you guys think you break the pattern?
You shift it.
Shift. Okay? You shift the pattern. To shift the pattern, it includes seeing the pattern. Okay? Here's the 4-step process. This is what I'm teaching tomorrow, starting tomorrow, by the way. It's an evolved version of everything we're talking about here. It's kind of like this little saying you could do where you go, see it, feel it, free it, shift it. See it, feel it, free it, shift it.
Yay!
Okay? See the pattern, feel the energy underneath the surface, feel the tension, let it be there, free it, express the real you. Forgive mom or dad, which is the deeper part of it. It's a little bit deeper than just every moment. Yeah, boundaries, somebody says. Shift it, new version of you. With repetitions, that becomes your identity. You can be the weird version of you you give yourself to be around your best friend. You can give yourself permission to be around that. around many more people in your life. You simply think the stakes are too high. The stakes aren't too high. Remember, it's not your job to mitigate their attention. Okay, show your personality more. Show your weirdness more. Own it. You didn't come here to stay in a little box and like hide and pretend to be some like, hey, how are you doing today? I'm at the elevator. It's very weather outside. Shut— Let's— like, that stuff is So past superficial. Okay? Right when you walk into the elevator, so what do you think about aliens? And you kind of look at them, what do you think? Start scratching yourself. I don't feel safe. Start weirding people out. That could be a big breakthrough for some people. Just to make it your goal for the next day to just weird people out a bit. Not intentionally, but just show the weird parts of you. And you'll start to give yourself permission to realize, oh, it's actually a breath of fresh air. And if you have like a weird friend and you're like, oh, they're a breath of fresh air. And if you have like a slightly autistic friend or a completely autistic friend, it's a freaking breath of fresh air, okay? How's the weather today? Hmm, it's very weather-like. Who gives a shit, right? Excuse me for cursing. I don't curse very often. Why? Because it's low vibe. It's so low vibe. Just kidding. I, in my personal life, I do curse sometimes. I say bad words. Anyways, I got to go because I got to be on a call with my cohort soon. You guys want to join the challenge? It starts tomorrow. You join it there. Also, live event is happening in Sedona, Arizona, October 28th, 29th, 30th. It's the last one of the year. If you want to transform live in person and you want to get out of this like, who do I need to be energy? That's what we're going to do. We're going to basically shake that shit out of you. We're just going to shake it out. You're going to be like— we're not going to shake you like a baby. We're going to shake you like a toddler that if you shake, it doesn't really do much. You know? I'm just kidding. We're going to shake it out of you. And that's what we're going to do at the challenge that starts tomorrow. And that's what we're going to do at the live event in Sedona. We're just going to bring you all to the stage. We're going to shake you. Okay, and then eventually you're just gonna like— the patterns are gonna come out of you through breathwork and other things, and you'll be like, I can just be me now. I don't have to pretend no more. I don't have to pretend to be someone else. This feels so good. That's what we do. Okay, anyways, uh, that's it for today. Hope you guys have a great day. Embrace being weird. Okay, bye-bye. See you guys later. Bye. Okay, I'm gonna go now. I got stuff to do. One of the most powerful techniques I've ever learned for having magnetic energy is called the frame technique. It'll help you let people sit with tension, not gobble up and take away that transformational tension gift that comes up in life. And if you wanna learn how to feel safe in your body, feel confident in who you are, not take on other people's emotions and energies, this is the most powerful video for you to watch next. Do it for 21 days and watch what happens.

If you can see this, you're about to become so magnetic you are unrecognizable
