3 Things to Give Up To Make Visualization More Powerful

In this instructional video, Aaron Doughty explains how to enhance the effectiveness of visualization by abandoning three common limiting habits. He first reframes visualization as a present‑moment emotional conditioning tool rather than a future‑focused wish‑fulfillment exercise. He then outlines three specific practices to give up: (1) visualizing from a third‑person perspective; instead, adopt a first‑person viewpoint so you feel as if the scene is happening now. (2) treating visualization as solely a mental image; instead, engage multiple senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) to make the experience visceral. (3) clinging to rigid expectations about how the desired outcome should manifest; instead, release these constraints, allowing the ego’s limited picture to serve as a symbol while remaining open to greater, unforeseen possibilities. Aaron supports each point with examples (e.g., imagining a beach relationship, a perfect job) and emphasizes the importance of feeling the desired state in the present. The video concludes with a call to like, subscribe, and download a free PDF on top LOA techniques.

This video will show you 3 things that you must give up in order to make visualization more powerful. I'm going to share with you tools and perspectives that I've used in order to make it something that really works for me. Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'm going to be speaking about the power of visualization and understanding how if we let go of outdated concepts about it and if we really focus on how it can be powerful in our life, we'll start to then get the benefits of it. Now let's first off realize that the true power of visualization isn't what most people think that it is. Most people view visualization as something that when we visualize, we will bring that more into our life. Now that can be a side effect or a part of visualization, But just making this switch in the way that we think about it will start to give us a totally different outlook and really go at a deeper level with it. Visualization is a process for which we are able to feel the emotions of what we want to experience in the so-called future right now in the present moment. So in a way, we can think about visualization as a way, as permission for us to condition ourselves for how we want to feel. And as we condition ourselves in the present moment, As we feel that state of being that we prefer to eventually have, we end up conditioning and using visualization in a powerful way. So this kind of flips the script a little bit because instead of thinking we are visualizing now to get this later, we're more of visualizing now because it's the preferred state of being that we prefer to have. It also comes with the realization that it's more so about the feeling that it evokes more so than just the mental representation that we can give it. Now, the things that we let go of and the 3 things I want to share with you are ways and perspectives that allow us to more efficiently use visualization. Now, the first one is probably the most common one and one of the biggest game changers when it comes to visualization, and that is simply visualizing from the third person instead of visualizing from the first person. Now, what this means is that rather than visualizing and seeing ourself, like kind of looking over our own back in the visualization, which can still be powerful, the idea is what we do is we switch it to being the first person view as if we are the ones in the scenario. So imagine right now you are visualizing yourself doing exactly what you want to be doing for a living. Maybe you are doing your passion for a living, you're running a business, or you're having the perfect job that you want, or you're in the relationship that you want. Now instead of viewing yourself and the other person at the beach in a relationship, imagine that you are there and you are looking into the other person's eyes. You are maybe feeling the breeze go by you. You're able to see the sunset. You see it's a much different perspective, but we're able to relate to it in a much more powerful way because we can get to the point to where we feel as if it is happening now. If we are looking from the third person point of view and we're like looking over our back or looking at it like we're looking at a movie, that has power, but it's not as powerful. Now what I'd say is toy around with this because maybe some people feel more into it if they're looking at it like a movie, but I'd say for a vast majority of people that at least I've worked with, it seems like they get the best results when it comes to seeing it from a first person point of view. So give up the third person point of view. You find that you tried the first person and it's more powerful and know that as you do that, the main intention is to feel as if it is happening now, not to think that it's some externalization, external point of view, external moment. Feel happy in the present moment and give yourself permission to feel that now. Now the second thing to give up has to do with thinking that visualization is only about the imagery. It's only about the mental representation. Now in order to make visualization more powerful, this is something that I've shared and I've seen people get amazing results with, especially when it comes to the feeling. Realize that we have multi-sensory perceptions, like we're not just limited to the visualization of the mental representation of what we can think of. Now most people have certain senses that they're stronger in. Now some people are very strong at visualization because they think in visual images. Me, for example, I'm what they call an auditory type strong. Like my auditory sense of being able to hear is much more strong than all the other ones. And that means that when I'm thinking, I think in the form of words more so than I do mental representations or more so in feelings. Now, some people straight up are more, I think it's called kinesthetic, which means that they feel more into it. They're more cognizant than anything else. Now that's why it depends on you. What is your strong suit? Now, whatever your strong suit is, use that in the form of visualization, but then add other sense perceptions. What you do is you can add taste to it. So if you're imagining maybe the, uh, the imagery of you and the person that you want to be in a relationship with at the beach, you're visualizing being in a relationship instead of just visualizing the sunset and the other person. Add in there what it would be like to have maybe the salt in the air, like smelling the saltwater. And then feeling the breeze and then the sun that's beating down on you. You see, as we add in these different senses, we start to relate to it in a much more powerful way. And then at the same time, you can add in that first-person view so that you're able to see it from that point of view as well. So these two together are very powerful. Add in the different senses. If you're maybe, you know, at the perfect job that you want, imagine what it would feel like to be at the desk, having your desk organized, maybe the smell of the paper that you're using that you're writing on. You know, all of these different nuances add to you being able to really feel into it, to make it something that is so much more powerful. So secondly, that's what it's all about, is just understanding the multi-sensory and making it something that can really feel into it. Now the third one has to do with the expectation of how things happen. This actually goes deeper than just the visualization, but realize that the visualization that we have is just one symbol of something we want to experience. We don't want to limit ourselves by going out into the world, and if we don't see a one-on-reflection of what we visualize, thinking that things aren't working. The key to this is knowing that that is a visualization that our ego, that we can consciously think of, but in reality, don't limit yourself to your visualization. Maybe if your visualization only has a certain barometer, there's only certain things that happen What if it could happen in a much more grand way? But what if we're limiting ourselves because we're holding onto the expectation of how things must happen? So to really make visualization more powerful, first off, let go of the expectation of how things must happen and thinking that this is the only limit that we have. You can use the words, I want to have this in my life or greater. Meaning that you're not limiting yourself to just this. It could happen in an even better way. So let go of that expectation. This is something that goes beyond just visualization because many times we'll think that that's the only limitation we have or that's all that could happen, but we're limiting ourselves. Realize that the ego's greatest visualization that it can possibly realize is actually the floor for our higher mind. There are much better circumstances that could happen. It's just that we can't consciously think of it. So don't limit yourself with your ego. Realize that you can honor it, you can use it as a powerful symbol, but things could happen in a much more grand way, and all you have to do is trust the process. So remember, all you gotta do is first off, switch it to a first-person view. Let go of the third-person view that you have. It will become much more powerful. Secondly, let go of thinking it's just about one sense. Add in the other senses. Make it something that's much more visceral. Much more real and that's much more multi-sensory. And then thirdly, let go of the expectation. Understand that when you do that, you could be letting in greater things that could happen to you that could actually make you feel even more fulfilled and be even part of your greater excitement.
