How to Open your Third Eye and Activate the Pineal Gland (a practical guide)

Aaron Doughty describes opening the third eye as shifting from dualistic thinking to non-dual perception through breathwork and candle-gazing. He spent five years training attention by watching thoughts pass without judgment, which he says led to deeper self-expression and expanded well-being. The practice connects to David Hawkins' consciousness scale, moving from lower emotions toward love-based awareness.

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. And in this video I'm going to be talking to you about the idea of the third eye. And what I'm going to do is show you a way of learning about it that is actually something we can relate to because sometimes we hear about this concept and it's like something that's almost kind of like very so esoteric, so hard to connect to because it seems so mystical. But really this video is going to be a practical guide to expanding your consciousness to a point to where your third eye is activated so that you can actually have a grander like experience of what life really has to offer you. So first off, I just want to share with you my story on the idea of the third eye and how I came to understand it and how I really expanded my perception. Well, first off, let's look at the idea of the symbology of what we call the third eye. Well, the symbology is looking at it as if there were like an eye right here. Now, the way that I view it at least is the idea that we are having a physical experience and with our eyes we can look at and see it from a point of view of having a dualistic experience. That means we have opposites. We have good, we have bad, we have pleasant, we have pain. We have all these different like dualistic type ideas that we experience in our life. And with that, it's like the idea of the third eye is having a single vision, a grander perspective of those things. Now we can relate this to the idea of observing. When we learn how to observe our thoughts rather than label them as good or bad, we then get to a point where we start to actually gain our power back to see things for what they really are. Because when we're in the dualistic nature and we become attached to ideologies, we become attached to certain perspectives, we then become reactive and we're not able to as easily see things from an observer point of view. That observer point of view is where the process of opening the third eye really begins. Now, a lot of us that go through our daily life experience, most of the things we do are habitual and a lot of times things are on autopilot, so we do the same things every day. Therefore we have the same like way that we think. It's constantly triggering the same emotions that we feel, and because of that it becomes a very repetitive type experience. The idea to me, the way I think of activating the third eye is transcending that autopilot mind, starting to really engage in our life and understand who we are from a deeper point of view. Now I had my third eye opening experience about 5 years ago when I had my spiritual awakening experience, and all I simply would do is I would sit down, I would focus on my breathing, and I would observe a candle flame. And as I began to just observe that one point, because I had ADHD and the idea was it was very hard for me to just like focus on one point, as I would do that and my eyes weren't wandering around as much because I noticed that every time my eyes would wander, my mind would follow and also wander with it. The idea is that I just stared at that little point of the flame and I would focus on my breathing and observe my thoughts. Whatever thought would come in, I wouldn't try to like push it out and like say don't come in or like judge it as good or bad. The idea is that I just watched it kind of fly by like you would if you were like at a park watching dog walk by. You just kind of observe it going by. You wouldn't follow it, you wouldn't chase it, just observe. That's what I learned how to do. Shortly after that, I started to have this feeling inside my body of understanding and really getting to the core expression of who I am. And as I started to really connect to that feeling, my general state, like the way that I felt, my set point started to go up. I started to feel good. A majority of the time. And as I started to know that that was like the core expression of who I am because it felt so good, that's at least how I thought about it. I then started to realize and see that life was very different than I priorly thought that it was. I started to really understand that we are much more vast than we could possibly ever imagine. I started to see the senses as kind of tools, like the senses we have are ways that we interpret the idea of vibration or the way that we interpret our life perception. And as I began to expand my perception for what is possible, I then started having experiences of being able to really feel into that and to understand and to feel that at a deeper level. So I am like what we could fundamentally call the idea of claircognizant. Claircognizant is more of a feeling than anything else. And really the idea of opening the third eye, like the reason a lot of people do it, is to expand their senses, like expand their perception. And for me, that was just becoming more at the core of who I am and connecting to that feeling. And you know, I've never really identified with being clairaudient, being able to like hear guidance, or the idea of clairvoyant, being able to see. I've been more of a— somebody, I guess, maybe that's just the way I define myself to be, but very easy for me to connect to feeling certain things on whether they're true or not or whether it resonates with me. And that's how I get a lot of the information that I share in these videos is mainly through just connecting to the core of who I am and then doing that, being able to then express ideas to you like I'm kind of doing right now. Now with that being said, there could be some practical ways that we expand our consciousness, but really the first part of it comes down to just simply observing your thoughts, becoming aware of the habitual thought loops that we have, and then choosing to understand that you are much more vast than you priorly thought. You are a spiritual being having a temporary human experience. When you start to come at it from this point of view, you start to see that what we are feeling, the sensations we have, are just little like interpretations of the way that we view the world. It is not an absolute and it is not the totality of what we could experience. Now this is when we start to tap into more of who we are. Now understand that if we don't believe that we are more than that, it's very unlikely that we'll experience more than that because our beliefs negate the actual experience. If we were to even feel something similar to that, we would probably kind of negate it or we would kind of block it out to where it never really, you know, was anything powerful for us. So the idea behind this is understanding that if you begin to just simply expand your perception by understanding that you are more than you priorly thought that you were, you learn how to observe rather than react. You will learn how to see things as more dualistic, less dualistic, and more from that point of view. You then begin to raise your level of consciousness. Now I recently did a video on the idea of raising our vibration and it was based on a book called Power Versus Force by David Hawkins. And in this you'll see this chart that he uses to explain the idea of consciousness and how to transcend each level of consciousness, mainly starting with the lower emotions, moving all the way up. And you'll notice that once you get to a certain point of what is called reasoning, the next step or the next like two steps after that is the idea of love. Now the way that we transcend that, that step right there is through dropping intellectual ideas and having the awareness because it's reasoning and having the awareness. I like how I did that. Having the awareness that everything can be seen as true based upon our point of view. So the perception, the idea is that whatever we believe to be true will be reflected back to us based upon how we define things to be. So if we define something as good or bad, whatever we define it as will be the experience that we have. This comes from also understanding that if we see it for what it is, which is just an experience, just a point of view, and we detach from that point of view, we then allow ourselves to move more into feeling and then into the category of love. Now, a lot of being and having our third eye open has to do with connecting to our heart and understanding that when we begin to act from that core expression of who we are, we then expand our senses, we expand our perception, and we really begin to live from that point of view. So that's it. I just kind of wanted to share those ideas for you guys and understand that it can be much more practical than we priorly thought that it was. It doesn't have to be this like mystical esoteric thing, although it can be, and it can be fun to look at it from that point of view. So I'm not knocking it, but the idea is that I just want to give you something that you can actually relate to. So expand your consciousness. Realize that you are more than you priorly thought that you were. That's it for today. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it, share it if you found it of value, and as always, I will see you guys on the next vid. Alright, much love. Peace.
