How your Self-Image is created and how to change it (powerful way)

Aaron Doughty explains how your self-image shapes your life, then walks through four steps to change it: notice limiting beliefs, let them go, insert new ones, and act in small ways that reinforce the new identity. He went from one YouTube video a week to daily uploads by shifting his self-image first.

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron Doughty and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'll be sharing with you the most powerful technique to change your self-image. Now realize that our self-image is being projected out and that based upon who we define ourselves to be, The beliefs that we have about who we are, that is being projected out, maybe even at subconscious levels, and people are responding to that based upon their own perception. So understanding this, we then see that to really make powerful changes in our life, we must first change the way that we view ourselves. Then from that point, we're able to actually see a new reflection in our life. Now I've shared information on the self-image before, but what I wanted to do was to give a very simple process for being able to reidentify yourself now in the present moment, and how then that will change everything that you experience. Now it's this simple idea: your definitions about who you are are what's keeping your self-image perpetuated. Now some of these might actually be things that you like. Maybe you have an outgoing personality, or you're very friendly to other people, or you're compassionate. Those are all good parts of the self-image, but understand that if there's anything there that's something you don't want to experience, the simple way to change it is to just become aware of whatever definitions are there, because our definitions and beliefs are creating the kind of experience experiences that we have. And the moment you become aware of what those definitions are, you can begin to question them. And then instead of that place, start to insert the new beliefs of what you prefer, the new definitions for whatever it is. So for example, if there's a definition, if part of your self-image is believing that you have a slow metabolism, that you are lazy, or that you're overweight, You must first off become aware that that is a part of your self-image. That is a part of the way you define yourself to be, and if you become aware of it, you can then decide that you're going to let it go. Now you let it go by questioning it and realizing that it may have been there from some reference experience. Maybe your parents telling you that you have a slow metabolism or that as you get older your metabolism will slow down or whatever belief is there, realize that as you become aware of it, then you start to gain your power back and then you can question it and simply decide that you no longer prefer it. Now the key to this is the consistency of inserting the new self-image for who you are. And if it's that you believe that you are shy, that you, uh, feel anxiety when you're around other people, if there's a belief there that says that you're not worthy of being in a relationship, whatever part of the self-image that we have that's given us the effect we don't want. When you become aware of it, you simply let it go. You insert how you prefer to be and then take action to reinsert it over and over again to condition yourself for this new state of being. So you could do this if you think you have a slow metabolism and are overweight. You could do and change that by realizing and knowing that you don't prefer to have that kind of experience and then decide that every day you can start off small. You're going to walk for 5 or 10 minutes. You're going to just let go of drinking soda during the day or drinking soda at all. You're going to just start drinking water and juice. If you do these little types of things, you start to experience the action of it The more that you do it, the more that it begins to taper onto your self-image for who you are. Now, me, for example, one of the things that for me really allowed YouTube to grow was simply changing my self-image for somebody that creates a video a week with a certain type of work ethic to somebody that creates a video every single day. Now, that took a big leap for me, but the moment I simply decided that that's who I am and that's what I'm going to do, That's when the momentum started to build. Now the more action every day that I did that, it re-solidified that that's just who I am and now it's just a natural part of my day. I create a video a day. It's easy to maintain because it's a part of my self-identity. Now realize that our self-image, that who we define ourselves to be, will always be what we try to remain consistent to. So when we become aware of this, we can simply ask ourselves the question, what do I define to be true about myself? How can I change the definitions about who I am? The more that you begin to look at this and you become aware of it is the moment you start to take your power back. Simply become aware of your self-image. Choose to let go of what doesn't serve you anymore by questioning it. Start to insert who you prefer to be, and as you continue to take action with that, you are rewiring yourself. You are making it a deeper and deeper part of who you are, and the more you do it, the easier it becomes. So with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it, share it if you found it of value, and as always, I'll see you guys on the next video. Peace, much love, namaste. Alright, bye.
