Someone who can't stop working admits they're hiding their need for help, even though they're exhausted. They feel pressure to keep pushing and struggle to ask for support, caught between what they do and what they actually need.
If he's resting, I'm like, why are you resting? We've got so much to do. I was sort of saying I need more support, but my actions don't show that I need support.
Do you hide that you need support?
Yeah.
What's funny is what that brought up inside of you is that also that's what you wish you could actually do. So now there's like a new possibility that opens up for you when it comes to realizing that maybe what you also need is to allow yourself to relax. Sounds like vulnerability is the doorway into that new way of being, because the old way is like, I can't show this weakness. I have to always be busy and take care of everyone else. And you said it yourself, it's like an identity that you've taken on. But this new way of being is more so what does regulation look like? What does being aware of how your body feels and choosing to rest when it should rest, or you feel you should rest?
