Aaron Doughty explains why empaths over-give for safety and approval while narcissists operate from a strong personal frame. Empaths can learn to set boundaries without losing compassion, and narcissists can benefit from focusing on others instead of just themselves.

What empaths get to learn from narcissists is narcissists, even though they're manipulating their environment to get their needs met, which by the way, empaths a lot of times do too. Empaths will give and give and give and be so sensitive and add value to everyone because then they get safety. They get other people's approval and validation. Narcissists though are in their own frame, even though it's maybe manipulation and stuff, but they have a strong frame and empaths are attracted to that. You're like, oh my God, this person has such a strong frame. So what, what they each got something to learn from each other. Of course, narcissists can learn how to be more empathic because empaths are all about other and empaths need to learn how to be in their own frame in a healthy way. These are extreme sides of the coin, by the way. So I'm not saying like it's, you become a narcissist. Self versus other. That's what the frame technique's all about. Self versus other.
