It's weird, but it'll bend reality to whatever you want

Aaron Doughty explains how expectations shape reality using the labeling experiment with rats and schoolchildren. The key is adopting "I'm good either way" to reduce the resistance that comes from over-valuing outcomes. He shares how shifting from high-pressure YouTube events to "let the divine flow" completely changed the energy.

Why is it the more you want anything, the more you block that thing? Why is it the more you try to get the love, the money, etc., the more you block that thing? But why is it when you take that thing off a pedestal, then that thing can actually come into your life? One thing you'll hear people say sometimes is that the person they're attracted to doesn't want them. But there's other people that they could care less about that do want them. And they're like, why can't these people over here be this person energetically? Now, what I'm going to show you in this video is how to carry the energy of I'm good either way. When you truly are in a neutral space, you've tapped into what enlightened people understand. We'll talk about that in a minute. When you use that mantra of I'm good either way, plus a little variable that changes everything, it completely shifts your reality. Now, first off, let's look at it like this. What we think of as reality is not, is not some static set thing. Reality shifts to the degree to which we shift. And when we shift, our perception shifts. And we experience a new reality based on that perception. Like, if you think of reality being static, listen to this one idea right here that I think will completely shift the way that you see the world once you learn about it. Imagine this, just to show you how not static reality is. If you were to take rats, for example, you were to get hundreds of rats have them in little like containers with Post-it notes on it where there were some rats that were smart, some rats that were not smart, and they're labeled. And then you get people that grab and take these different rats and they put them through a maze. What happens is the rats that are labeled smart on average go through the maze about twice as fast as the rats that were going through the maze that were labeled as dumb or not smart. This is actually a scientific study or an experiment that has been done. So people bring these rats through a maze twice as fast when they are labeled smart versus not smart. Here's the kicker. You ready? The kicker of the whole story is it was completely random which rats were labeled smart and not smart. Think about that. Literally, the person's expectations, the person's beliefs about the rat influenced the rat to either go through the maze twice as fast or to be a little slow dum-dum and not go through the maze as fast. So, are— is reality static? Reality and literally things in our reality are reflective of the energy we are embodying and what we expect of it. Simply, our perception of it shifts the reality we experience. So you can even use this with people. You say, rats, that's one thing. What if you did that with people? You'd say, surely people won't do that with kids, right? Wrong. They actually did this with kids. They took kids in a classroom, and they told the teacher, "These are the dumb-dumbs, these are the smarty-smarts." And guess what happened? By the end of the year, the smart kids performed way better than the kids that were labeled as dumb. Now, the joke of the whole story—hahaha, it's so funny—is that what they did is, once again, it was random. They told the teachers these kids were tested, and these are the smart-smarts, these dumb-dumbs. And the teacher said, okay. And then they— so you think about that. Were the teachers treating the dumb-dumbs as if they're not going to get it and kind of was like a lost cause? Were they giving more eye contact to the kids that were smart and a little more patient because they're like, they're so smart, they're going to figure it out? The expectation of them influenced the kids. So it's very interesting, right? Literally think about how power— how much power the teachers have based on their expectation. There is a reality that is shifting based on our expectations of it. So you talk about bending reality. Now, the expectations we have, you could say, okay, well, I hear that. What that means is I just need to think that like I'm the smart one, uh, reality is always going for me. And while having a positive general attitude about this is powerful, the thing to ultimately remember is that all things in life have zero built-in meaning other than the meaning we give it. So if you think about this, like, in a way, you got two different people. So the, the idea, by the way, behind this is understanding that with that experiment I just shared with you, things aren't static. They are flexible depending on our perception, and reality itself is molding to the, to the beliefs that we have about it. And it's almost like, what if the people you meet in your life, imagine the people you meet in your life are in a way taking the path of least resistance with how you expect them to be. So there's an influence that you have. And imagine if you have the beliefs or you have the energy of pressure, or you have the energy of, I'm not worthy, I only deserve this, you are gonna attract either the controlling people or emotionally unavailable people that reflect that back, or you're gonna get the versions of them that are like that. This is a very interesting thing. We'll talk more about that in a minute. I have a story for you that may shift the way that you see the way in which you interact with people in a very powerful way. I'll share that in a minute. Now, first off, let's use this scale right here just to understand this. Scale, balance, scale. Now this comes from this idea in this book called Reality Transurfing. I've been talking about it a lot recently. The idea of increased importance. The idea of the book— it's written by a Russian quantum physicist. It's a long 500-page book or more. The idea is that there's an infinite number of realities. How many realities are there, Aaron? Infinite. Okay, in so many realities you can't even imagine. So that means that every possible thing you can imagine already exists. It already exists. You don't have to create it. You imagine it's like, I create my reality. No, you don't. You don't create your reality. You shift through your reality depending on your perception. You could say the divine or God creates reality, and it all exists. So the key to this is understanding your energy and understanding that you don't have to get the roles mixed up. Because if you think you need to be the one that creates reality, guess what? That's a lot of pressure for you. And the idea behind this book in Reality Transurfing is that everything we can possibly imagine already exists. What you are doing is shifting through what is called the alternative space. Sound kind of a cool name, doesn't it? Alternative space. Now the idea is that in the alternative space, what you are doing is experiencing reality. And when there's something you want, what you are doing is, because it already exists, you are making the invisible visible. It's simply, if you think about it, there's 11 to 15 million bits of information all around you. But only you can perceive— or no, but you, not only you. We're like, I feel so special. We can only perceive of about 100 bits per second, which means that technically the thing that you want, it's already around you. It's just literally invisible due to your beliefs. So the 11 to 15 million bits of information around you You're only perceiving of 100 bits per second of what's active in your field. So when we talk about what's this weird thing that allows you to bend reality, it's this understanding that it already exists. You don't have to try. We're slowing down a bit. You don't have to try. That creates resistance. So when we look at this idea of I'm good either way, recognize that when we say that, it comes from an understanding that enlightenment— love, joy, peace— it's what we naturally are. Enlightened people say that the whole idea of attaining enlightenment is a joke. Why is it a joke? What's the joke? Don't you want to be in on the joke? The joke is that enlightenment is something you are. It's not something you attain. It's about simply letting go of all that you're not. This means letting go of the beliefs, the attachments, the stories, and the pressures. So it's almost like, why are you good either way? Where you are love, joy, and peace. So you don't need to try to get it. And in fact, when you let go, you allow the divine and you allow something greater to flow through you. Now, the idea, just to explain this quick, because I want to get to the core of this video, that is the thing that I think will shift your perspective of your identity, how you relate to people, and even how you relate to reality itself. And I got a couple of stories I want to share with you too that are examples of this. When you think of this, it talks about these balancing forces that come into place in reality. And anytime we make something really important, we create a lot of pressure. And what happens is that pressure creates resistance that is saying this is not natural for your identity. And because there's pressure, It's like we give it too much meaning. And what the book says is there's something we give it energetically called excess potential. Now, excess potential is sort of like an energy of resistance that is created, that is like a governor that keeps you in a certain energy of what is actually familiar. So when people talk about self-sabotage, for example, It's like with self-sabotage, it's like we are normal. What's normal for us is a certain type of nervous system, a certain type of energy. And when we start experiencing really good things, we might sabotage it to bring it down to what's familiar. So our nervous system literally freaks out. Once again, that's excess potential. It's that excess potential for what's excess meaning. We're giving it too much meaning. Because we believe getting it has something to do with us and what it means to be us on the inside. So in a moment, I'll explain that because that's the deepest part of this video. But the first thing to understand is that when it comes to importance, think about it. Anything you make really, really important, you create a lot of resistance and you block that thing from coming into your life. By the time it actually comes into your life, you'll have normally let go. And it's normal. So when I visualize what I've experienced in my life and I think about what I've experienced over the last like 6 to 8 years, I remember when I first was working that 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes, I would visualize being a full-time YouTuber. I would visualize how awesome it would be to get up every day, make videos, not have to go to a job and talk to some manager that was like high up in his britches. Feel super important and like there's an authority thing there. There's all which energy that I didn't like. When I shifted from this to this, I remember that I was so in the process, which is a huge part of this. I was so in the process of making videos every single day because it's who I believed I was. And because I was making daily videos, it was like people would ask me, how are you able to make so many videos? And I would be like, I would think about it and I'd be like, what do you mean? It's easy. It's equal to my identity. It's easy. It's like, I don't even, I wake up every day, I make a video, I go to work. I was working 35 hours a week and then I would go home and I would make these videos and post them on YouTube every day. I had a feeling that if I made daily videos on YouTube within a life, my whole entire life would transform. And what happened is, after 2 or 3 weeks of this, it's like there was an initial part that was like almost like unfamiliar. And once it got and became my natural set point, like natural for me to make a video every day, guess what? It was on— it wasn't on a pedestal. It was natural for my identity. And people would say to me, how are you able to make so many videos on YouTube? You have a crazy work ethic. That began to shift my identity because I never had a crazy work ethic. I worked a 9-to-5 job I didn't like. I did the bare minimum just to get by. Like, I was never like the go above and beyond person, but all of a sudden I was somebody that was making videos, working that 9-to-5 job, and it was just— I was like, I don't know, it's easy. So when people say you need to have a lot of willpower, no, you don't. You don't need to have a whole bunch of willpower to hype you up to do something. By the time you make that shift You'll be in the energy where it is natural. Like, do you think I have to— anyone has to have willpower that goes to the gym every day? It's become natural. It's become natural to the identity, equal to the identity. So people are like, Aaron, you've got crazy work ethic. I'm like, thank you. There's a part of me that felt pride. Yeah, got hard work ethic now. But I was like, this is easy. It's easy. It's something I enjoy doing. Do you have to have willpower to brush your teeth? I hope not. No judgments, but you probably don't have the willpower. It's natural. It's a natural part. You've accepted it. It's a natural part of your identity. Now let's take this a step further. Let's go even deeper on this. Now here's a story that I have of recently that I've learned for myself. One thing that I've learned about kind of like this energy that's really shifted a lot for me is I think there was a certain level of static when you think about it like a radio dial. Think about a radio tuned to 97.5 FM. 97.5 FM was a certain reality for me. I wanted to be at 111.1 FM 'cause it's a spiritual number. And then this reality, 111, is a spiritual cool thing. Remember, 111 has no built-in meaning, but we give it meaning. Think about radio frequencies, they already exist. It's about tuning to that, right? For the last year and a half, I felt some resistance in my life around wanting to grow on YouTube, believing that in order to grow on YouTube and social media, what I had to do is I had to be extra. I need to go out and run lots of live events. I need to go out and not only run live events, but also hot seat coach people at live events, get out of my comfort zone. So for the last 2 years, I'd been running 15 to 20 live events where I show up, no planned content for 2 or 3 days. I'm able to coach people in the moment, not knowing where anything's gonna go. And then I would get that content and put that on Instagram and YouTube, thinking for me to become an authority, a very special person like the people I look up to, like Tony Robbins or Joe Dispenza or these other awesome people, I need to get out of my comfort zone and become more. I need to stretch my identity and become somebody that is just like undeniably of authority that is able to do these really cool things. Now don't get me wrong, I love running live events. I just ran one a couple days ago. I enjoy it. But there was a belief that in order for me to be more successful and to grow to the next level, I have to do these, it has to be uncomfortable. So I would push through my nervous system, push through like my body of having to do all these live events, hot seat coach people, et cetera. And in a way, the thing that I was actually passionate about got put on the back burner. The thing that I was actually already good at got put back on the back burner. Got put on the back burner, why? Because I thought that I had to be more, I had to do more, I had to get out of my comfort zone, I had to do all these things. So for like 2 years now, I've been hot seat coaching people, all the time. I've been doing high-level coaching, I've been doing high-level live events, I've been running live events, I've been doing consistent like boom boom boom, all of these things. Now don't get me wrong, it's been fun. I've learned a lot about myself. I've gotten very good at hot seat coaching people in the moment. I've had videos go viral on YouTube with millions of views of me hot seat coaching people. It's been great. At the same time, what I've realized inside of myself is what became very important to me was almost like an ego, it's like it wasn't just ego 'cause I was passionate about it, but it became about the end result. The pressure then became, because I wasn't making YouTube videos anymore, I wasn't making these whiteboard videos, I was like, now at these live events, it's very, very important that we get amazing content. And then what happens is at these live events, there's this pressure for content. So every time I'm like on stage, I'm thinking, is this good content? Is this a good outcome? When I'm coaching people, I'm like, is this someone coaching? That's gonna be great content. And what I realized is I was then subconsciously, there was an intention to help people transform, but it was being dominated by an intention to get content because I gotta get to the next level because where I'm at is not currently good enough. I gotta be out extra. I've gotta get outside my comfort zone. So over the last year and a half, I've recognized, and just recently I've been like, wait, the reason I love running live events is because I love helping people transform. I wanna have more fun with the process. So this last live event I ran, the difference was, it was crazy how different the energy was with this one simple intention. And by the way, you can apply this tension in your life and notice how much shifts. So going into this live event, it was different. I have this live event happening, I have my team there, and before we have any of these live events, I always get my team together for a group intention. And normally the group intention's like, let's help people transform and have a safe space, which is part of it. But then it's also in my mind, I'm like, we also gotta get content 'cause I got to get to the next level so I can be good enough. As if that wasn't some shame-driven desire to like be good enough and prove myself. So this, and what I notice is that my nervous system affects the nervous system of my team, which affects which also affects the nervous system of the people that come. I can feel a difference. So I ran— over the last month, I ran two live events, one a month ago and then one just a couple days ago. The difference was crazy different, and the results, the feeling, and the intention. And this is what we're talking about here. I went in, I talked to my team, and I said the most important thing is that We have fun. The most important thing is that we have fun. These people coming to transform, let's have fun with it. Let's have a good time. Let's see what comes through. Let's allow the divine to flow through. And when you allow the divine to flow through, you truly are good either way because it's not the ego that has to control. So what I did is I allowed the divine to flow through. I had fun with it. And the energy was so much different. And ironically enough, the content was incredible, but I didn't care. I was literally good either way. I forgot that we were even, that it was even being recorded. Now let's talk about that idea I was sharing that I think could completely shift your life. So first off, if we go over here, now you've probably heard me talk about this before, and this idea I think can completely shift the way in which you relate to yourself and other people. And it has to do with this idea of worthiness. Are you worthy? And if we're trying to— as a kid, if there was a moment where we felt not worthy, what'll happen is in order for us to be worthy, we feel like we need to do, we feel like we need to prove. And what happens is when you're not worthy, you then try to prove that you are worthy. So this thing of worthy, not worthy. Now I actually have a perspective about this that I think could completely free you. And that perspective is that you at your core just exist. Think about what enlightened people say. Nothing has any meaning. Everything is reflective. We are all part of God or source energy. So with that, it's like nothing is worthy, more worthy than anyone else or less worthy than anyone else. It's a concept. Like if you were to think of a baby, probably heard me say this before if you've been watching my videos. If you think of a baby, is a baby— what makes a baby more worthy than another baby? And you're like, Aaron, that's messed up. How could you even say that? Babies are worthy because they exist. And We would never say, well, this baby over here sleeps 8 hours a night, this baby here cries all night, and you go, well, that's the worthy baby, the one that's quieter. What happens is growing up, the baby, men at a certain moment may decide, I am only worthy if I XYZ. Now, to be worthy, here's the kicker of this whole thing. You are both, I believe we are both not worthy and worthy at the same time. It's a concept. In actuality, we just exist, baby. That baby just exists too, baby. We all babies. We all neutral babies. Not one baby has more worth than everyone else. But at a certain point, we thought that we did, so we started to compare ourselves to everybody else. We started to prove it. But if we can accept— if we can accept that we are both worthy and not worthy at the same time, we become more free. Now the kicker to this whole video is that the reason you make things really, really important and you really, really want the goal, et cetera, is 'cause you subconsciously think that that goal, the money, the love, relationship, et cetera, you think it means something about you if you don't have it. It's internalized. So as a kid, if mom and dad divorced, or as a kid, if something happened, There's a part of us that internalizes that. It says there's something wrong with me. Mom and dad divorced because I wasn't enough. So what happens is we believe that deep down there's something we're flawed with. So you could also say that this importance is a projection of shame. I'm broken, there's something wrong with me, and if I have the money, then I'm enough. I'm broken, there's something wrong with me, there's shame, and if I have the love, then I'm enough. It means something about me. So there's an internalization. So no wonder there's lots of importance. So what happens is when you think about this, not internalizing the meaning, this is the key here. This is the thing I keep pointing to. This is like the, the, the sink dropper idea. When you think of someone, let me use an analogy here. And then we're talking about this Olympic, this Alyssa Liv, you've probably seen the quotes on it. And we're gonna talk about that in a minute too. And how, and Jim Carrey, we're gonna talk about all this. The sinker. Here we go. You ready? Moms or dads, things that happen when you're young, what happens is we internalize it and then we go with this unprocessed shame that wants to come out. The key to this is understanding that the energy of shame, like if you think of it, like I remember these people I used to work with when I used to work at the mall. I used to work at Barney's New York in women's shoes. There were these people that were always handing out cosmetics to old ladies. They were salespeople that made a lot of money, so they were able to like, here's a free sample, here's a free sample, here's a free sample. And then once they got someone, they'd bring them in and they'd sit them down and they'd be, you're so proud of yourself, proud of yourself, how'd you get your hair so white, blah, blah, blah. And then what they did is they just sell them $3,000 worth of stuff, okay? One time I helped them with shoes. I helped one of these ladies with shoes. She came in, she's talking about, I was like, man, you guys, she made like $20,000, $30,000 a month. I'm like, damn. And I said, what do you— how do you internalize? Like, I see you guys get rejected like 100 times a day. I was like, how do you respond to that? Like, how does that— how does that feel? And she's like, it's just part of the gig. It has nothing to do with me. It's like this— there's no internalization of it. They're not focusing on internalizing every little rejection that comes in. They've accepted it. There was no meaning given to it that says there's something wrong with me. In the same way, If you're good either way, whether you get the loving relationship or the money or not, you're good. It's not an internalized thing. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. Bending reality comes from this weird little saying of, "I'm good either way." Now in a minute, I'm gonna share the flip with you, which is also a huge part of this process to actually actualize it. But first, let's go over here, okay? Now maybe, I think in a future video, one thing I wanna talk about is this idea that enlightenment, What enlightened people say is that every moment is a new moment. What, like, in the sense that you, we may walk around and we have a certain past, we have a certain idea of who we are, and what happens is enlightenment is a complete acceptance of the present moment. There's no past. So even if you talk to someone who's in this enlightened state of consciousness 2 days in a row, They wouldn't tap into the memory of the day before and project that onto you now. It's a reflection of the divine. It's a completely new moment. This allows the energy to be fresh. This allows you to be more present, have more fun in the moment, to be more curious about what can happen because you're not carrying the weight of the past. Now, when you think of deep down, when you think of contraction and resistance and importance that comes up inside of your body, That's a reflection of a past contraction. That's a reflection of something coming up to either be felt, something coming up to be processed, so that then you can release it and allow it to be new. So comment below and let me know if you want me to make a video on that one idea, that one idea, how every moment is new. Because what happens is, as you recognize that what you're really releasing is resistance to what is When you are in a flow state, there's very little thinking happening. When you're in a flow state, there's something greater than you flowing through. Even recently when I was doing that 2-day live event, not to get content but to have fun, there was like a flow. And here's the difference too of that live event. Normally the live events are I show up and I would do 80% of it or 90% of it would be me hot seat coaching people. Who has a question? People raise their hands and then I, I coached them and the events were just kind of like this open thing where like anything could happen. Now it's about 80% of it is teachings, ideas, whiteboards, showing different whiteboard pages and teaching ideas and then doing meditations. And then about 20% is coaching. It created way more alignment. I've re-owned that thing that I'm passionate about, but in the state I've recognized there's an energy that flows through that's hard to explain. Now the other side of this is, Let's talk a little bit more about this to make this deeper, and then I'm gonna show you the flip that I think is the key to actualizing all of this, okay? Every video maybe will have a flip, the flip. So Alyssa Lynn, she won the gold medal. She was like all over social media for having these quotes about how reality is a video game and stuff like that. It was pretty cool. She won the gold. One of the things that she said is that the gold was never the goal. The gold was never the goal. The gold medal was not the end goal. Her goal was to hype people up, put on a show for people, make people feel good. And what I thought was very interesting is that there's like an inner child play that she alludes to, almost like an inner child energy that flows through. It's like, it reminds me very much of a flow state. And when you are present to the moment, When you are in joy, love, peace, enlightenment, there's less thoughts you're having because there's less identification with thinking. When you see figure skaters and you see these Olympic gold medalists, they're in the moment, baby. They're not sure, I need to do this, I need to do this, I need to do that. It's just flowing through. They let their body take over. They let something greater than them flow through. In an interesting way, when we talk about Alyssa Liv, the goal, she even said, I don't want, I don't need to be famous. I'd rather be grounded than famous. Very often when people get on YouTube, if their goal is I'm gonna get on YouTube to get famous, a lot of times it doesn't work out. But when they get on YouTube because there's something they're passionate about, when there's something that they just immerse themselves in, when there's something, yes, of course, there's probably a desire to grow and to do it full-time, but it's not the primary focus in the beginning. They just love it. That's when energy begins to flow through you. So one message I'll have as well for this is at the live event I did recently, people really like this kind of analogy or this, this simple saying that you can apply as you're bending reality to being good either way. As you step into a new you, let it be sloppy. Like, I remember the first time I ever put myself out there and started to make videos, it was sloppy. I didn't know how to edit. It felt weird. It was weird looking into a camera. So let it be sloppy as you turn into this new you. Let it be— if you let it be sloppy, there's less importance. This is the key. There's less importance around it being perfect. You don't have to be perfect as you step into this new you. Let it be sloppy. You're doing something new for the first time. The first time I ran an event, the first time I, I remember the first time I asked somebody out, the first time I set a boundary, the first time I expressed to someone how I felt when I would feel guilty about that. These are all moments that micro shifted me into a new version of myself. So this is what shifted everything when I learned that you can let it be sloppy and that takes the pressure off. Now the Jim Carrey thing. Jim Carrey, there's this, uh, a lot going on in the collective right now on Jim Carrey. Very interesting perspectives there about— is it— is it— if you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about. But he has an old school video where he's on the red carpet and he's like, I just wanted to come to the most meaningless thing I could find, and out of all the galaxy, here we are celebrating these icons. What's an icon? And this, this woman that was interviewing him felt like a dumb— she felt like a dumb dumb. But he was— he, he had a spiritual awakening. He was like, none of this means anything. And think about it, we— if you think about celebrity and you think about people on a pedestal, they literally are super important and special because they've been in movies. We idolize it. We have group agreements that this is who's special. On a different planet, it could be the plumbers that are the people that are idolized. Literally plumbers, people that like go to your house, or electricians. What if like they're like, oh my God, can I get your autograph? Because in a reality, there could be a group agreement like they supply us with the gift of light, they supply us with the gift of a good smelling house. They could be the ones that are celebrated. But we have group agreements that say no, because you've been in a movie, because you've been seen by lots of people, you're a special snowflake. We want— and you look a certain way, you're so bad. Yo, you see, this is— it's all group agreements. It's all an illusion. Everything has no built-in meaning other than the meaning we give it. This is both the most exciting thing to realize and the most terrifying thing to realize. Somewhere in the middle. Somewhere in the middle, which means you're way more free than you think. Remember, reality is not static. Reality is fluid, like spaghetti noodles. Arms of spaghetti noodles, because that's how fluid it is. Okay, you ready? No key to this. Honestly, there's one thing that shifts your life more than anything. It's learning to accept the moment as it is. It's learning to trust something greater than you, allowing it to flow through. And when you do that, when you can accept— like, think of an insecurity you have. You have an insecurity maybe around a mole, your weight, your height. There are people where they just own that thing and that thing doesn't have resistance. That thing doesn't hold them back. Acceptance allows you to open up your energy. Acceptance is the key to this process. This is the key to healing even your inner child. And a lot of times when people work with their inner child, there's some of the most powerful work you could do. People try to heal their inner child, but it's like trying to fix your inner child. It's not good enough. There's shame there. Go away, this is embarrassing. But when you accept it, you accept the people pleaser part of you, you accept the perfectionist part of you, the hyper-independent part of you, you accept these parts of you. These parts of you are not who you are. So the flip for you is realizing that there's 3 simple steps you can use. One is neutrality. Things in life have no meaning other than the meaning you give it. When I learned how to observe my thoughts in 2012, that changed my life. When I learned how to observe my beliefs and what I'm feeling, you observe it from a neutral place, it's like you think thoughts but you're not your thoughts. So allow yourself, when you're good either way, who's to say you for sure know what's best for you? That can be a gift for you actually not getting what you want. Back in 2016, 2017, before I was full-time on YouTube, I applied at Neiman Marcus where they got paid more. I applied, didn't get the job. I was bummed out. I was like, maybe there's something deeper here, maybe there's a different meaning behind this. I look back and I can see now that that may have been a gift. If I would have got that job and started making $80K instead of $60K, maybe I'd be like, I don't need to get on YouTube. It was a gift. The divine, God, whatever name you want to give it, had has a greater plan for you, and when you insist your ego knows what's best, you create resistance. So the flip is neutrality. Neutrality, observing your thoughts. The second is expression, expressing the real you. This might mean expressing a boundary, being vulnerable, expressing how you feel. Might mean that you have stored energy inside of your body, and when you release that energy, what happens? Is you allow yourself to release it from your body so that you become more free, you become more open. You might express yourself in multitude of different ways, but expression is ultimately what's coming up for you. It's why you feel the contraction in your body. And when you express it, you release it, then you feel more free. The key to this, by the way, is to become an open vessel and to become present. Allow God to flow through. And when you express, you're cleaning out your field. Allowing yourself to let go of the energy underneath that keeps you weighed down. Now, the most important thing that I think that will really shift too is number 3 is be with identity, being from the identity level. I would take action every single day as this version of me, being it, not thinking it, not trying to get somewhere else, but being it 'cause it's who I choose to be. And when you're in that energy, you're in a very powerful energy. So this right here, these are the keys to be this version of you, okay? These also, if you want a meditation that will help you to really be good either way, it has to do with getting to the core of that inner child healing. And I have one of the most powerful meditations I have is an inner child healing meditation where you go to Kauai, Hawaii, and you connect to your own inner child. It's completely free. You can go ahead and comment below or go to aarondoughty.com/child. Check that out. And if you want that of a video that I made prior on this that actually goes deeper on detachment and importance, watch this video next. It's one of my most powerful other whiteboard videos on this. Check it out right here.
