Let GO of the Old Identity and Wire in the New By Doing This

In this self‑development video Aaron Doughty shares a revised approach to manifestation that replaces the traditional “force‑ful” method of constant intention‑setting and visualisation with an identity‑based strategy. He uses his own experiences in bodybuilding and YouTube content creation as metaphors, explaining how pushing beyond the comfort zone for a limited time and then allowing full recovery (a 3‑day‑on/4‑day‑off rhythm) leads to better results both physically and creatively. Doughty recounts a recent incident where a trademark claim forced the removal of over 100 videos about a book, which he frames as a sign to let go of attachment to outcomes and to trust the process. He also tells a story about his friend Victor, whose ignored warning signs led to a failed marijuana crop, illustrating how external cues can guide identity shifts. Throughout, he emphasizes the balance of yang (action) and yin (absorption), the flexibility of personality, and the need to consciously choose a new self‑image. He promotes a “Raise Your Vibration Permanently” meditation as a tool to support this transition, and ends with a call to action for viewers to subscribe and practice the suggested mindset changes.

To be honest with you, it completely has blown me away of how powerful this really works. And if I would have known this 2 or 3 years ago, things would have been so much easier for me to create my life. It had been so much less resistance and I would have enjoyed the process along the way. So in this video, I'm going to show you how manifestation has completely transformed for me in 2020 and exactly what you can do to get the same results. Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'm going to be sharing with you an idea and a way of going about manifestation that makes the old way of going about it completely obsolete. The old way being like trying really hard and setting a lot of intentions and visualizing what you want and feeling a lot of resistance and self-sabotage come along the way. And just in general, you know, to be honest, right now I'm in a big transition in my own life. And part of that has to do with many of you that know me, you know, I've been making videos on YouTube for about 2 or 3 years now. I've been talking a lot about how I'm moving into doing live events. Then of course this stuff happened at the beginning of the year, which kind of prolonged a lot of that. And I'm starting to realize how powerful it is for me to actually go into periods of my life where I actually kind of hold back from taking massive, massive action. And a lot of that has to do with me, um, understanding this works in many different areas of life as well. I've recently, let me kind of share with you where I'm at right now in my own body. For example, you can't tell right now because of the shirt I'm wearing and stuff, but one thing that I've been intending to do is to do what is called bulk up. I want to gain weight. You might say, why? Well, I just kind of feel like doing it. I kind of feel like doing it. Something I've always wanted to do. So what that means is I'm eating a lot more food. But the other aspect of this is I have had to— I've learned, and I've, I'm, you know, kind of following a specific program, but it is completely counterintuitive from everything I learned. I used to work out 6 days a week, and when I would work out, I would also do a lot of cardio, which means I'd be running. I'd be doing a lot of moving around, getting my heart rate up, and I used to really enjoy doing that. However, I wouldn't get that great results. I would not really be gaining muscle or be gaining weight. I'd always kind of remain the same. And recently what I've learned is that actually for me to bulk up, one thing that I'd be doing is I work out only 3 days a week, but the 3 days a week I work out, I really push it. Now this is the thing, and this is the metaphor. When I was normally going to the gym before, I was just going into the gym, no real plan of anything I was doing, and I wasn't pushing beyond my comfort zone. That's the thing. If you want to grow, if you want your muscles to grow, you've got to stretch beyond the comfort zone and tend for it. And then on the other side of this, feed them the right nutrients. So one other thing that I was doing is I wasn't eating enough, so, and I wasn't relaxing enough. Now this is a huge counterintuitive thing that I've learned about just bodybuilding, and I'll share with you how this relates to my life. So I am actually now— I've only been doing this for a couple weeks now, but there's a, there's a big difference between in just 10 days how different I look. Maybe I'll put a picture up. Um, what happened is, is I only work out 3 days a week. I push it every single week. I do more weight than I did the week before, even if it's 2.5 to 5 pounds difference. And On the 4 days off a week I'm not working, I'm just relaxing. I might do a little active recovery of like biking or something like that. I just got some new bikes, a mountain bike and a road bike, so I do that. However, and I do the sauna, but I don't, normally I would run like 5 miles, I would work out 6 days a week and do all this stuff. Now I actually recover. Now here's another aspect of this. I'm pushing beyond the comfort zone with the muscle, pushing beyond the comfort zone, going more than I did the week before, and then I take a whole day off and I relax, I eat, and I, I refuel the muscles and I sleep really good at night and I focus on recovery. And that balance of pushing beyond my comfort zone and then also recovering and focus on my own body and feeding my own body and relaxing has been key. Before, I thought doing 6 days a week was actually beneficial. I'm doing more, I'm doing more, but actually doing more was hurting me because it wasn't allowing the muscle to regrow. So in the same way, the thing that I wanna share with you is it's very ironic to me 'cause I look at even me on YouTube. I've been making daily YouTube videos for 3 years in a row. However, I've been feeling a call to go, I've been going ironically enough 6 days a week. I've been making as many videos a week as I have been going to the gym a week. But the thing that I feel called to do is to move down to like 3 or 4 times a week. And maybe, just maybe, by me having those extra 4 days off of not making videos, maybe I get more creative ideas and then the content's not repetitive and it's, it's able to actually go beyond my own comfort zone. And then when I'm relaxing, I'm letting ideas simmer. So the thing that I'm encouraging you to understand is doing less sometimes is doing and having, and having a better result. Do less by letting go, by letting go and understanding the balance of yang and yin. Think yang is like giving energy, yin is kind of like absorbing energy and healing. In my life, I've had a very yang type way of being. Even when I go to an acupuncturist, they say the same thing, you've got a lot of yang energy. I've got a lot of, I'm always putting out, I'm always putting out, but instead of taking in, and that's like also you could think of it as like masculine and feminine. So when it comes to understanding this process, understand that our old reality, the way we've been thinking, you know, our personality, the way we think, act, and feel is on autopilot. We have a self-image for the way that we see ourself, and what happens is that personality creates our personal reality. Now, if we want to go beyond this identity, then what we need to do is stretch beyond the comfort zone, and then we need to trust the process and be this version of us. And understand that we can let go of trying to control it like we used to. And I've been even getting signs, you know, I've been saying, talking for months about how I'm going to, here's another story for you, about how I'm going to like take back and start doing like 3, 4 days a week. You know, I'm ahead on videos. If you see videos continue to come out like so consistently, that's why. But then I start doing it and then I stop. And it's even, I mean, I've honestly known this for like a year and a half. That I can like not have to grind so hard to make daily videos on YouTube. But for some reason I just keep, I was like, okay, well obviously subconsciously I believe I still have to do it. 'Cause if I really did believe that I didn't have to, then I wouldn't. Now here's the thing that happened recently. So I have a book that many of you probably know that I made, you know, it's not my book. There was a book of somebody that wrote it. It was a not very well-known book. It was written by a Russian guy and it was translated to English. And what I did is I made over 100 videos, 80-something videos or more on this book. And I would send people to this book. And this book was something that I would talk about. I would tell people to go read. And what happened was this last like couple months, there was this lady that got some type of, she doesn't understand, I think, how trademarks work. But what she did is she got a trademark of the book 3 years after I made 100 videos and then went in on YouTube and dinged in every single video I've ever made where I mentioned or have it and talked about that book, sending them free traffic, by the way, literally like, 3 years ago, almost nobody really understood the book. I was one of the first people to really like pump that book and give it credit, give it credit and, um, you know, send people to it. Yet they, um, I think, I mean, there's a couple of different layers to this to be honest. But one thing that I went through recently is I had over almost 100 videos on my YouTube channel completely just deleted. And I think that it was, um, I don't even think that it was really allowed to be like happen legally. I think that just talking about, I don't think it's against the law to talk about a book. I feel like it's an infringement on free speech, to be honest with you. But what I learned from this experience is first off, I'm never gonna talk about that book ever again. You're never gonna hear me say those words again. However, the other aspect of this is me realizing that this is a sign for me to really just let go of outcome. It's a sign for me to really let go because I think I was still attached to certain things. And even though that I believe that was unjust and that was against my right to free speech at the same time, and also just imagine you made and spent the time to make 100 videos to send people to a certain book or to do something and to buy a book and then that happens. That was kind of my ego and how I felt, especially in the moment. But what I realized now is I can let go of that and realize that that is a sign for me to also become aware of me getting more in alignment and not being so attached to the outcome because that really had to teach me time to let go. And the other thing that was scary about is the fact that YouTube would allow that to just happen. Like, literally, that was what kind of freaked me out, you know, a little bit. Anyways, I'm just talking out loud right now. Um, but in general, the, like, certain things will happen that then show you, hey, you're meant to go in this direction. You have to trust that process. It's, it's time for me to let go and also to realize that I have my own teachings. I have my own way of describing things that, you know, is very much my own way of going about things, and I don't need to tie myself to some type of book, um, that— some type of book, especially from an organization or people that I don't resonate with, that, that don't necessarily live by the principles of the book. So I was able to really just kind of, you know, let that go. So understand that in, in general, for this, what I'm talking about in the year 2020 and beyond is this is about becoming very clear as to the identity of the way you prefer to be and then making that jump. So me looking at myself, I want to be making daily videos. I don't want to meet necessarily making daily videos on YouTube. I want to make more higher quality videos, maybe 3 times a week, and then also focus on doing live events. That's something that I want to do too. So I need to actually be that version of me and then understand that there's going to be an initial bump and there'll be ways that my old identity will try to, try to sabotage me. It'll try to keep me and he'll try to talk me into doing what I was doing before. No, don't take 4 days off a week to relax. That doesn't work. You need to do more. No, do 7 videos a week or 6 videos a week. Don't do 3 a week. That's not the way, you know, as if like everything I built up will just, you know, stop or something because I'm not pumping it as much as I used to. So the thing I wanna share with you is that there's going to be an initial jump in that new identity, but you have to trust that identity and you have to trust the signs that come up as well. My buddy Victor, many of you may know, he was telling me that before he moved and decided to get on YouTube, he was legally growing like marijuana back in Michigan. And what happened was, is he was getting signs to stop, but he wasn't trusting those signs necessarily. He was pushing through with it. And what happened was, is eventually there was like, his plants got infected with this like thing, man, some type of mites or something like that that completely killed the whole entire crop. And then the lamps were going out. All of these things were pointing to him like, hey bro, it's time to transition into this new you. And then eventually he had to just say okay, and he had to just give it up and then just start the life of him doing what he intuitively felt called to do, which was make YouTube videos. And then that's when things started to grow for him. So I always kind of remember that story because we may get sometimes little signs. It's like, nope, you got to let go of the outcome. And then we take those and then we can move and say, what does this mean for me? And make new choices about who we are and then wire in that new identity. So a lot of this has to do with letting go, letting go, letting go of the old personality, The old personality that creates the personal reality of how you used to think, feel, and act. Let go and realize your personality is flexible. You can think, act, and feel any way that you want. You just have to make a new choice about who you are. And that's what I did. I'm making a new choice about who I am and the way I prefer to live my life. And I believe that right now, for me especially, it's about living in alignment and it is about me doing what I wanna do when I wanna do it. And that, that'll raise my vibration. And as I raise my vibration, guess what? I feel more free than ever. Now, one thing that you may have not seen before is, um, I have a Raise Your Vibration Permanently meditation that we all did live at the beginning of the year. It's still very powerful for connecting to that energy. It'll help you upgrade to a new level so that this becomes very easy for you to make this transition. When you raise your vibration, everything in your life changes. I'll go ahead and link that right here and link in the description box below. Other than that, like this video if you liked it, subscribe if you haven't already, and I'll talk to you later. Peace, much love, and namaste.
