By not setting a boundary with someone, by not expressing how we feel with someone, what we might do is we say, I'm just gonna put up with it. I'm just gonna put up with it because it's too much tension for me to express how I feel because then there'll be reaction. But then what you do is you put the burden underneath yourself. Then you carry it around with you everywhere you go. So this one moment where you could express how you feel, it would feel— you'd feel it and heal it and release it. Then it would be gone. Instead, you carry it underneath you for a period of time. So what were you gonna say? So it's I'm just kind of putting the perspective of, is it really easier? It's easier to not rock the boat. Is it really? It might be easier. It'll be quicker to just express the real you, to set a boundary or to be vulnerable. There may be some tension there. How they respond though is not your thing to manage.
