The people in your life mirror your nervous system state. If you're chaotic, you attract chaotic people; if you're calm, you attract calm ones. To change who shows up, notice how you feel around others and practice self-regulation through breathing, presence, and boundaries.
Chapters
The people in your life are a reflection of your nervous system. If you find that in your life, the people you surround yourself with are calm and regulated, it is because you have normalized having calm and regulated people surrounding you. If the people you've attracted into your life are people that reflect back to you a chaotic nervous system, or fight or flight, it is because at some level you have normalized that inside of your own nervous system. And one of the first steps to transforming the people you attract into your life is focusing on the awareness of your own nervous system and how you feel when you're around people, and also whether you can co-regulate with others or even self-regulate inside of yourself. So understand that this is a reflection, and if you want to attract more people that resonate with that calm, regulated version of you, the key is being aware of your breath, choosing to regulate within yourself through breathing, presence, feeling the space in between you and the walls of the room that you're in or wherever you are. And understand that instead of allowing people into your life that might be draining your energy, becoming aware of why you believe you must continue to tolerate that, or why you must continue to, in a way, feed that energy, keep it around. And what happens is, as you create space for yourself, you'll allow new people to come into your life that reflect back that new calm, regulated nervous system.
