Seriously, Please Watch This Before You Try To “Raise Your Vibration”

Aaron Doughty argues that raising your vibration isn't about thinking better thoughts. The real work is releasing resistance and moving from a contracted state to an open one that already exists within you. He links this to attachment patterns and warns against spiritual ego turning vibration into status.

This video, I'm gonna show you why I stopped raising my vibration. I'm gonna show you why when you look at this differently, it will completely transform your life. I'm gonna show you why thinking better thoughts is a toxic perspective. I'm gonna show you how I relate to this in a completely new way that makes it so much more simple. It's allowed me to attract so much more love and joy in my life, and it comes from a place of I'm literally good either way. Because I feel differently inside of my body. There's a certain level of open energy that I have that attracts to me the opportunities, the people, et cetera, but not from a place of me needing it to feel whole and complete, a place for me living it from the inside out. So in this video, I'm going to show you step by step how to raise what's called your vibrational set point by not raising it at all. So let's get into it right now. Now, the idea of raising what people call your vibration isn't even correct terminology, because when you think of energy, understand your energy is naturally high. It's who you actually are. Love, joy, peace is who you really are at your core. The only thing that keeps you from realizing that is past conditioning and attachment. So if you think about it like a cork on the top of an ocean, just bobbing along, and if you were to put resistance under that cork, it then goes underneath that of the surface of the water. And then you could say, well, how do you raise the cork back to the top? How do you raise— what are the secrets to raising the cork back to the top of the ocean? And then you can go on YouTube And people might be like, here's how you raise the cork to the top of the ocean. This is how you do it. If you do this, that you're gonna get what you want so much easier. At the top of the ocean, there's so much oxygen and air and it's awesome. And you're like, well, just tell me, bro, how do I raise my vibration? Well, the key is to let go of resistance, right? You don't raise your vibe, you let go of resistance. And this is one of the first secrets of this idea of raising your vibration is it's more about letting go of resistance than it is anything else. Now understand too, when it comes to energy, your energy is either open or it's contracted. That's the scale. Most people, when they're talking about raising their vibration, it becomes this spiritual ego hierarchy where we say, "Ooh, I'm super high vibe," and it becomes a way in which the spiritual ego creeps in. But actuality, Your energy is either open or it's contracted. This is why, by the way, when you meet certain people, you feel really good around them. You're attracted to people generally that either reflect back your contracted state or you're attracted to people that are open that you feel alive around. So what happens is if you think about it in the form of, well, Aaron, why do I always attract toxic people? You've either normalized contraction in energy, you've either normalized it, or it's something that is showing you something about yourself that you're learning to integrate. So do you see the difference here? How it's either your energy is either open or contracted, and that's when you say— Now this is the interesting thing. You know, I think about this in certain formats where the question is, how can you stay open even in spite of past patterns which showed you how to contract. Does this make sense? So someone's asking, how do you let go of anxious attachment habits to a person? I realize I do it, but I so easily forget all problems or bringing them up, fear of disappointment to him or losing him, but I had an issue with him. So this is a good question. So someone is asking about anxious attachments around a person. Now, there's two ways in which I can answer this. One way is in which some people will use that as a manipulative tactic. So it's like, okay, well, I'm anxious around this person and that anxious energy is repelling them. But you see, this is the challenge. If you're trying to not be anxious so that you get them back or because you just see that the energy isn't conducive, it's not necessarily getting to the core, it's become a tactic. So when you become aware that anxious and avoidant, I wish I could show you the scale. There's a scale of consciousness that I'm revamping right now in my own way, but in one of the layers, so when you talk about elevating your vibration or your energy, you're either open or you closed. When you're talking about that of anxious or avoidant attachment patterns, those are protective mechanisms. They're protective patterns underneath that of neutral. So you could think of it as contracted, protective, neutral, and then open. People that are in anxious are using anxious attachment style or avoidant attachment style if someone's avoidant in order to feel safe. So that's a control mechanism. It's a control mechanism that's used to change an outcome. This is why often you will find people that are either anxious or avoidant, they tend to attract each other. Well, why is that? Why do you think that is? They mirror back to each other the thing that they can begin to lean into in a healthy way. So anxious people or people that are leaning in to receive love, maybe chasing or needing, are trying to get close. They're trying to get close to somebody that has a pattern of avoidance. So often what can happen is this is the opposite side of the pattern. Now, the thing to learn at each level for the avoidant person is to learn how to lean into intimacy. And for the anxious person, it's learning how to feel good either way inside of yourself so that when you are around somebody else, you're not projecting onto them needs. Think about it like this. I was reading the book "Letting Go" today by David Hawkins. Right? There's this idea in there where pressure is experienced as a projection of energy on someone else. Anytime you have a certain expectation of someone else, you are subconsciously projecting pressure onto them. And the way that is experienced is as a form of control. It's a form of emotional blackmail. Because if the key is I want, so say for example, anxious attachment wants to be chosen. It wants to be chosen. It's doing things to be chosen. It's demanding being chosen. It's projecting onto the other person the energy of you must choose me. And that you must choose me energy is, that's a form of emotional blackmail. That's also a form of control. So the way that's experienced on the other end is it's experienced as pressure and it doesn't even actually allow the person to choose because you're demanding they choose. Does this make sense? So that projection though is a form of control. Now above that of the protective, so if we talk about vibration energy, we're talking about contracted, protective, and then neutral. Getting to a neutral place is so powerful because this is where you can observe what's happening and realize that you're good either way. Does this make sense? This is when you begin to open your energy because no longer you're trying to control, you recognize it's a pattern. Now, anybody that comes in here and says, I'm anxious or avoidant pattern, you are not a pattern. You might have an adaptive survival pattern. You are not your patterns. Don't get it mixed up because people love to take quizzes online They wanna know a quiz for what is my vibration? A quiz for what is my, am I anxious, avoidant, secure? And then I always say that and people go, what about dismissive? Uh, uh, because there's so many different layers. It's like everyone's craving an identity. Tell me who I am so I understand the pain that I'm in. Just keeps you blocked. You are not your patterns. You are not your thoughts. Does this make sense? Someone says, how do you heal from narcissistic abuse? I have an anxious attachment style. I'd recommend that if you need, I don't know the degree of it, but therapy is very powerful. Also, often when we attract controlling people or narcissistic people into our life, the thing you wanna become aware of is what is the energy for you to learn in the dynamic? Because you're attracting it for a reason. You're attracting it to learn something, to integrate a part of yourself. Maybe that is to express yourself or to say no or to set boundaries or to realize it's not your job to fix them. Maybe you've normalized being around a certain contractive type energy and you try, you have a certain like, I'm a good person for staying. Maybe that just feels familiar to childhood. Do you see the number one key to elevating your vibration or your energy is learning to let go? Because remember, just like a cork on the top of an ocean, if you put pressure underneath it, it's thin under the surface. What do you do to get it to raise back up? How do you raise your vibe? You don't raise your vibration. You let go of the resistance and it naturally comes up. This is also, by the way, why enlightened teachers of our past have said that enlightenment is a joke. Enlightenment is not something you become. You don't become enlightened. Enlightenment is a realization that you already are it. It's a level of consciousness that is basically so open When you think about it in this analogy that I'm sharing where it's either you're contracted or open, these are the opposite sides of the scale. What you would call enlightenment is a realization of oneness. So it's not, when you say, how do you become it? It's not a doing. There's less effort at the higher levels of energy. Force, contraction, it takes a lot of energy to hold that energy on the inside. The other thing that I talk about when it comes to raising your vibration or what you call your set point, is learning that this is not about thinking better thoughts. You've probably heard certain teachers or people talk about think better thoughts. If you're thinking a thought of fear or anger, don't think about it because you're going to manifest something bad. If you think about anger, the more you feel anger, the more you're going to attract something bad. That creates a toxic good or bad relationship with your emotions. The truth is, if you don't think about it, those emotions stay suppressed inside of your body. So what you'll do is you'll attract people that reflect back the suppressed energy inside of your body. They will reflect back the other side of it. So people that suppress energy might attract people that are very emotionally reactive because they tuck it in. No one can see it. You attract people that have maybe on the other side of it, it expressed in an explosive way, well, they are mirroring back to you an energy that you might not feel comfortable with. And the goal is to help you become comfortable with that energy so that you have a better relationship with your emotions. So I don't believe in this whole idea of like thinking better thoughts. Thinking better thoughts will suppress your emotions and it'll keep you attracting passive aggressiveness into your life. It'll keep attract— it's still there under the surface. If you acknowledge it for about, what is it, 15 to 20 seconds is the most you can, when you really open and allow the emotion to flow through you, it leaves your body. It dissipates. You're not trying to control it. You're not holding it in anymore. It's just that you've been afraid of it. And when you let it go, that's when you become lighter and free. It's like if you were afraid that if you cried, you would be crying forever. I don't wanna cry for, I don't wanna cry because I'm gonna manifest something bad if I cry. Doesn't that sound like a toxic relationship with your emotions? I don't wanna feel anger because if I feel anger, I'm gonna manifest something bad. When instead, if you were to feel it, like when you cried, you cry for 16 hours straight? No. Even when something very sad happens, you go through waves of it and there'll be different layers of grief, different layers of emotion. But the healthy thing is to allow yourself to feel. Awesome. So it says, I let go of an avoidant situationship and made a conscious decision to close that and never responded again. Shifted my energy and attracted someone available and emotionally available. Good for you. That happens many times. People will attract people into their life. They will tolerate a situationship for a very long period of time. And the whole entire time you are entertaining a situationship, You are avoiding a relationship. Do you see that? You don't have space for a relationship because you've got the energy there of a situationship. Now, when you say no to one pattern and maybe like even you let go of an avoidant situationship, maybe part of that is you recognize too that trying to prove yourself to somebody was a draining contractive energy. That's when you shifted your energy and you attracted someone available. You say no to one energy, you may then, you then allow yourself to open up to a different energy. Now, one thing we're gonna be doing soon, if you haven't heard about it yet, is we're doing a 10-day magnetic love reset. This is a 10-day experience. You can join. It is a 10-day transformational process. I'll be doing live hot seat coaching. I'll be showing you in essence how to open up to more love and connection. And I'll be teaching the very beginnings of this process that I've been developing on raising your vibration, but from a level of open or contraction so that you can stay open despite what is happening around you. And that you can understand that you can heal anxious and avoidant patterns. Those are just protective mechanisms. You can remove your love blocks. The last one that I did of this, there were 4,000 people that joined and there were people afterwards, months afterwards that were sending me photos of, either relationships or people going deeper in their relationships. It's not just for people that are looking for love. How do you go deeper inside of yourself? You'll have more fulfilling relationships when you do that. So if you do wanna join that, it starts on February 11th. The enrollment is open now. And if you join, Friday's the last day to join at early bird if you do wanna join. It's a $47 experience, literally only $47. You get lifetime access to everything if you can't make it live. I'll be going live 4 times, doing 2-hour hot seat coaching every time, helping you to remove the blocks to love, open up your heart. Aaron, how do you let go when it feels like giving up every time? Letting go is something that is also about letting in. It's letting yourself feel. That's really what the letting go technique is all about. It's not about letting go to get. It's what you're really afraid of is you're afraid of an emotion. And the more you open yourself up to that emotion and you give yourself permission to feel it, the more you realize that a lot of the fear, like what that is, a fear of giving up, it's a fear that you won't be able to handle it. So it's almost like an emotion is making you afraid of another emotion. It was like one emotion protecting you from a different emotion. Sometimes that'll be fear protecting you from shame. Does that make sense? You know, like the more, you know, I've ran a lot of live events over the last year and I remember the first time there was a contracted feeling. I'd get on stage and I would feel an openness and a flow. But when I was first doing certain types of coaching, like hot seat coaching where I bring people to the front, there was like an energy where that, had a certain contraction to it. And the more I did it, the more open I became, the more I learned to trust, the more I learned to allow. Same with other emotions that I work with inside of my own body. I used to be afraid of maybe my own anger, not express it, when in fact giving myself the ability to express was a part of releasing the energy stored inside of the body. Does this make sense? Someone says, what is the best advice to someone who's missing a person not meant for them? So I think it's interesting that in the question itself, in the question itself, I think it's a good reflection, Sarah, that you're aware that this person might not be meant for you. Now, the reason I say that is 'cause sometimes people will be like, what's your best advice for someone that's missing someone that was meant for you, but like, it's just not working out? So there's a certain degree of letting go of the story that maybe that person was meant for you. And my best advice for someone who's missing a person is to understand and to get— well, really, it's to give yourself permission to feel that missing energy. Like, it's funny, if we would allow ourselves to miss someone else, like, you can miss someone else. And if you let yourself miss them without feeling guilty that you're missing them because you're wondering what they're doing, or you feel like ashamed of it. If you let yourself miss it, maybe there's unfelt grief there. Have any of you ever been through a breakup where you go through a breakup and it may not logically make sense for the kind of feelings you feel after a breakup, and you realize that maybe that breakup is also bringing up other emotions from other breakups in the past? Have any of you ever had that? That's an interesting thing, isn't it? Or is that just me? I've had times before during some form of, it almost like brings back other memories of something even that was like unprocessed from the past. So sometimes you might be missing, think you're missing that person when really there's also a grief there that's coming from, there's a grief there that's coming from not just this relationship, but other times in your life when you felt loss. I think sometimes also it stems all the way back to mom and dad. Like the inner child part of us that maybe felt like mom or dad became emotionally unavailable or maybe wasn't emotionally or physically present. Those are also when the control mechanism started, the patterns, the patterns that either contract you and keep you from the love, joy, peace that you are. Thank you for the hair comments. Some people are like, you don't look like Jesus anymore. What am I supposed to say to that? I used to have really long hair for those of you that maybe don't remember. And somebody was saying, your hair looks great. Thank you. I've had, it's been like this for a long time, but thanks for coming back and thank you for the nice comment. They mimic our parents' relationship to us and family too. Yeah, very often. Like if you're, if who did you have to be as a kid to be approved of or loved? Here's the real question. Who do you believe you had to be to be approved of or to get mom or dad's love growing up? Very powerful question to ask because if you had to be perfect, if you had to be a people pleaser or the peacemaker in the family or very studious, get good grades, then you start to put this pressure on yourself, this contraction on yourself as a mechanism to get what you want in reality, which is love and approval, et cetera. That's why when you do the inner child work, it can be so powerful because really we replay the mother-father-child dynamic. Like, think about this. When you think of your mom energy and your dad energy and their relationship, that is modeling to you what you believe about relationships, whether relationships work out or not, what is masculine and feminine energy like, et cetera. Your relationship to mom and your relationship to dad also represents your relationship to authority, So like if you become a rebel or you become somebody, you know, we look to our parents literally like they're forms of God when we're kids, whatever they say. So this is why, by the way, if your parents divorce, you can think it has something to do with you. You internalize it because you think in a way they're the ultimate authority. And if they couldn't make it, you'd rather not see your parents as bad or flawed. So you say, oh, it must have something to do with me. I was watching this funny bit from a comedian yesterday that came on. It was really funny. It's where this guy, I think, what was his name? I forget, but he was talking about him and his wife divorced and they sat down their little daughter and they were, he was of, you know, he was talking about how when he had the conversation with them, with the daughter basically, he was basically explaining like, you know, why mom and dad were divorcing. And he's like, well, you know, he said to the daughter like, well, you know, when you, We're eating dinner the other day and sometimes you eat dinner and we tell you not to give ham to the dog, but then you give ham to the dog because you just love that dog so much. You know when that happens? Well, that's the reason we're divorcing because you don't listen. And we decided that it was so hard to be around you that what we're gonna do is we're gonna take turns being around you just to minimize how much we have to deal with your BS. Now, of course, it's part of the joke. It's like a harsh— it's like, I thought it was funny though, because as a kid, like, like every kid's worst nightmare is like, mom and dad are divorcing because of me. I did this. If I could have done something correct, then mom and dad would have never divorced. Maybe if I was a little bit quieter. But of course, that was just a funny take on like the idea of like, you, you try to like make your kid— this had nothing to do with you. This is just mom and dad not getting along. But the kids, you know, but it was, he went the other way with that. You don't listen, so we're divorcing. Can you imagine? There's, you know, it's funny to think of, but there's probably people out there that experienced that where mom or dad are like bitter and they're like, this was your fault. But anyways, that was funny 'cause it was somewhat true. Like we try to avoid, as little kids, as kids we're like little, not narcissist, I mean at 2 years old we're narcissists. Isn't it funny? When you think about arguing with a narcissist, arguing with someone who's controlling, that's like, "Mine, me, give me, give me." When you think of a toddler, like, here's the thing, we were all at one point little narcissists. When you're a baby, you're one with mom, and then eventually you look around and you learn the word no, and you go, "No, mine, me, no." It's like all of you learn, you learn, you learn and think that you go from being at one with the world to then like everything revolves around me. And what happens is some people, my theory is that certain people that have narcissistic traits or that are narcissists, there may have been some core trauma that's in the narcissist, that's during the age of 2 to like 4 of whenever we were in that narcissist stage of development. And then what happens is because that was when certain traumas happened, certain energy happened, that people stay in that almost level of development in certain survival strategies. So it's kind of like they stay there. But when you think about that in reality and you think of dealing, like a lot of times people will argue with a narcissist or argue with somebody that's like controlling like that. But would you argue with like a 2-year-old? Like of a 2-year-old, you're like, "Okay, it's time to go to bed." And they're like, "No, I want ice cream." And you're like, "No, you can't have ice cream because X, Y, Z." They're like, "No, I want it." And you're like, "No, you can't have." You don't just keep arguing, right? The baby cries, the baby cries, and eventually the energy subsides. You don't sit there and argue. But a lot of times people as adults might be arguing with narcissists, arguing and trying to, get their point across. But in the same way, you wouldn't necessarily argue with a toddler. Now that you gotta be careful here not to put yourself on like an ego grandiosity to where like, yeah, I'm better than them. They're in this toddler stage of development because that's also the opposite side of that, of feeling shame. So understand though that one of the main things with everything that we're talking about here is about understanding that the control mechanism around a narcissistic person when they were a kid, also there was some form of survival mechanism there. That cause them to maybe stay in that developmental stage to also contract. And the way in which they get their needs met is through protection of control, more overt way. You will do this for me. This is what I want. I will manipulate. And it's almost a subconscious thing they're not aware that they're doing. But really what we're learning to do in reality, I believe, is we're here to learn how to open up more, maybe even how to feel the unpleasant emotions, but how to open up more. How to raise what we could call our vibration, but really open up. The more open you are to, as you like process the energy from the past, what happens is you get into a flow state more. Like that's what I love about when I run live events. It's like I have no planned content. The people come in and ask questions and I work with people, but it's like takes on a life of its own the more I surrender to the unknown. And the more I've done it, the more confident I've gotten in the unknown. Which is also, I believe, God or the divine to flow through. You allow something greater than you to come through. Does this make sense? Yeah, connection to authority, your reflection or relationship with parents. For a long time, because I had a controlling figure in my life growing up, I would attract bosses that were very hard to please and very manipulative. And that reflected back that relationship that was unhealed. Once I processed that energy, once I forgave that person from my past, that relation to authority shifted. You wanna know something interesting too? What do you think happened the moment that my connection to authority shifted and I began to, and I no longer had a job? So before, I always had the excuse of, oh, this person's controlling, this person's controlling, and it reminds me of someone from the past. Then I quit my 9-to-5 job and make YouTube videos, travel the world, run live events, I become my own boss. What do you think happened? I became very hard on myself. I became the gatekeeper to control, the one that needed to work all the time. I think I started to, in a way, have aspects of that towards myself, which eventually felt limiting. Isn't the mirror of reality so interesting? 'Cause we're reflecting back all these energies to ourselves, to a reality, et cetera. Yes, forgiveness is key. Forgiveness is one of the main steps for letting go. And if you want to learn how to raise your vibrational set point by letting go of the attachments, really how to recognize and remember who you are of love, joy, peace, et cetera, in the upcoming 10-Day Magnetic Love Reset, I'm going to be showing you how to remove love blocks, whether you're single and want to be in a relationship or you're in a relationship and you want to go deeper. I'm going to show you how to completely transform the contracted patterns that are keeping you from this more magnetic you. I'm gonna be doing live hot seat coaching. I'm gonna be showing you through a process that literally 4,000 people have been through in the past for attracting love or opening up deeper in the relationship. And you can go through this process simply by clicking the link below, grabbing your spot, and it's the last chance to join to also get all the bonuses. There's a bonus on letting go of an ex with a cord-cutting meditation, and there's also a bonus for the empath narcissist trauma bond, how to heal it with a meditation called the Frame Technique from a recent live event. You can check out and get both those bonuses when you join today. Grab your spot. The enrollment window is closing soon, and I hope to see you on the inside. And if you want a meditation for feeling these high vibrational emotions that are already inside of you, allowing yourself to make that your dominant energy. Listen to this meditation right here. Look at the comments to even see what's possible. It'll increase the belief that it can happen for you too. Commit to it for 21 days and watch what happens.
