Stop thinking...the key to success

In this motivational monologue, Aaron Doughty argues that the habit of over‑thinking sabotages the vibration needed for love, money, and opportunity. He explains that thinking itself is a survival mechanism that, when over‑analyzed, creates scarcity and blocks the natural flow of abundance. By shifting focus from mental chatter to present‑moment presence, flow, and adding value, one can align with a higher frequency that attracts resources. Doughty illustrates the concept with personal stories—from commission‑based shoe sales to building a YouTube channel and moving to California—showing how reducing mental noise led to increased sales, rapid channel growth, and financial freedom. He links the root of over‑thinking to unmet childhood needs and an inner‑child belief in lack, suggesting that healing this part allows a natural state of abundance. The talk also references a minimalist transformation example (Alex Becker) to reinforce the idea that less material attachment frees focus and accelerates success. Throughout, Doughty promotes a 21‑day Magnetic Abundance Challenge that includes live coaching, meditations, and breathwork to help participants release limiting patterns and cultivate flow. The overall message is that abundance is an internal state of consciousness, best accessed by letting go of thoughts, embracing flow, and aligning with one’s passion and purpose.

This video, I'm gonna show you why thinking less thoughts is the key to more abundance. Whether it's an abundance of love, an abundance of opportunity, an abundance of money, you can benefit by actually thinking less thoughts around any of these subjects to actually allow yourself to receive receive that abundance into your life. Now in this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to do that, why it is the key, and many— for many people, the missing key to actually receiving and allowing these things in. Now first off, understand that what we learn in this type of— this type of information is that thinking thoughts is good. You want to think positive thoughts to attract abundance. You wanna think positive thoughts to attract love. But the thing is, is the fact that you're even thinking thoughts is what is butchering up the vibration. Now you could say that in some ways, there's a book that I read, it's called "Don't Believe Everything You Think." and it's about this concept of understanding that because we think, that is why we suffer. And we believe that we need thinking thoughts in order to survive, when in fact thinking itself is a survival mechanism. Thinking is a survival mechanism that many animals don't do. When you are in the present moment and you are in a flow state, What are you thinking about? You're probably not thinking of anything. And what happens is when you realize that instead of focusing on thinking thoughts and on trying to manifest from thinking better thoughts, there's this other way to go about it, that's when, it's when everything in your life changes. Now, and even think about it, some of the people that get the best results when it comes to either abundance, money, or even love, a lot of times they're the most simple people. They're not the most intellectually smart that's like using their thoughts to think in certain sequences to get a specific result. A lot of times, not that they're dumb, but they're just not thinking. And some people may say that, you know, may on the outside interpret it that way, that they're slower or something. but in fact they're just more simple with how they're thinking. Now, one of the things and the realizations around this for me when it comes to abundance was I could very clearly see that when I used to sell women's shoes, I'd go in every day, it was commission-based job. So every day I'd go into work, I could see a direct correlation between what I was thinking to what I was experiencing. And if I went in and my goal was to sell $5,000 worth of shoes because that was $500 of commission and I was thinking about it and I was thinking about it and I was thinking about it, I could tell it was just butchering up the vibration of it. And what happened is eventually I stopped thinking about the outcome and I started focused on being present to the moment. I started to focus on the process and my intentions changed from what can I get to get the $5,000 of sales so I can get $500 of commission. And it started to be, how can I connect with other people? How can I add value to other people? How can I have fun in the process? And what happened is as I changed that energy, it was more present moment. I wasn't thinking every person that I helped, like, how can I add value to you? What can I do? It wasn't like that. It was just this inner intent. It was this intention that was general, but then I would be in the moment of adding value, being in flow, having fun. There were less thoughts. And anytime there was overthinking, you wanna know how crazy this could get, by the way? When I was in, I learned about something that had to do with Feng Shui when I was selling women's shoes. And in Feng Shui, there was this power position where when you are facing southwest based on your birthday, that's your power position. So I got a compass and I was looking, I was looking on, you know, where I was working in women's shoes at Nordstrom's. I was like, okay, for southwest position, I have to be faced this way. So what would happen is overthinking about it, every time I'd be helping a customer, I'd be like, how do I get into my power position? So I'd be like in this awkward position helping people. It was so dumb, was overthinking it. But here's the thing, these things just butcher up the vibration if you buy into them, if you believe them. They're also just permission slips, meaning they're really only true if you buy into them being true. But that ended up butchering it all up. The times I've had the best experience, whether it's commission selling women's shoes or it's even on YouTube or even at live events, there's very little thinking happening. There's a flow state. That's the goal of this whole entire intention is understanding that you're not gonna think your way out of being in your head. You have to get into your body. You're not gonna think your way out of scarcity. You're not gonna think your way out of loneliness. It has to do with presence and it has to do with getting into a flow state of alignment, of following your passion, following your purpose, and understanding the true basis of abundance in general is that abundance is a reflection of your natural state of being. Not one you need to talk yourself into. It's something you naturally are. You just believe you're not it, so you're trying to think your way into it. It's a paradox. It's a metaphor. It's an ironic satirical, I don't know. In general, this isn't something you talk yourself out of or even talk yourself into. It's something you let go of the old, you let go of believing that thinking is gonna get you there Overanalyzing is gonna get you there. And you start following the flow, following and focusing in the direction you wanna go. So scarcity, lack, these are things that priorly there's been some form of attachment to. And what happens is when you start focusing more on the flow state, things being an end of itself, the process, you'll notice you start to get a different result. So something I'm gonna be doing as well, if you're seeing this, is a 21-day magnetic abundance challenge. For 21 days, there'll be lessons, live hot seat coaching for 1.5 to 2 hours where I'll be bringing people up and coaching people, live unity meditations, breathwork for releasing the patterns in the body that are blocking abundance into your life. It's a brand new 21-day challenge. And if you wanna join, you will click the link below or go to aarondoughty.com/money. And it'll be 21 days of a more magnetically abundant you. So you can join, now's the time to join. We're starting very soon. You'll see more details on the page below. Now understand that when we talk about this too, there's a deeper layer we can go here when it comes to thinking thoughts, overanalyzing, this survival mechanism that we have. It's understanding that a lot of times if our needs weren't met as a kid, if mom or dad's attention was not there, if mom or dad were not physically or emotionally present when we were a kid, we can then maybe buy into lack and scarcity. We may believe that there's not enough to go around. Even think about it in the form of having siblings. If you had siblings and mom's attention, mom's gaze can only go to one kid at a time. So anytime mom's attention was over here, there may have been this subconscious part of you that's like, what do I have to do to get that? If you weren't having your needs met. Do I need to be quieter? Do I need to be perfect? Do I need to be more funny? Who do I need to be? So there's this survival mode thinking. That starts to happen. And then a shifting of your own energy and many times a self-abandonment that happens in order to get your needs met. But there's this ultimate belief in there's something wrong with me and there's scarcity, there's lack in the world. So a big part of the transformation is understanding that there's an inner child part of you that may believe in lack and scarcity, may feel alone, and may feel like your presence isn't there. So it takes on the burden of trying to think itself out of getting its needs met. And if you were to just be present with that inner child part of you, you may start to find that there's abundance all around you. It just requires a shift in energy, a shift in consciousness, a shift in focus. Think of it like the abundance of, you think about the analogy I use a lot, it's like a radio, radio station tunes to certain stations, the radio frequencies are all around, but you only perceive that which station you are tuned to. So if you wanna experience more abundance, you have to tune to more abundance. And you tune to more abundance partially by giving, by giving and adding value, by following the frequency of your passion. In 2017, when I started on YouTube, I was making daily videos. I was working maybe 2 hours a week, 2 hours a day on videos, but 6 hours a day, 7 hours a day, 8 hours a day at my 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes. Within a few months though, things picked up on my YouTube channel and I put in my 2 weeks 6 months later. Now, the thing that I believe happened is my dominant vibration, even though it was only 2 hours a day of making videos, those 2 hours of making videos, I was way more passionate about, had a higher frequency. It was about adding value. It was almost like the universe was more flowing through me to help me and send me more resources the more I stepped into it. This is what holds back a lot of people. They don't step into it. They don't start. They're waiting, they're waiting, they're waiting. And it's like you're at a radio station and you're waiting to tune to 111 FM. Spiritual people love synchronistic numbers, 111 FM. But you're waiting to turn to the channel because it feels so familiar to be on 97.5 LAC FM, 97.5 LAC, that's hard to say fast. But you get it. It feels so familiar. This is what I know. This is what's been playing since I was a kid. What if I turn it to 111 FM? And what if everyone leaves me that was on 97.5? What if my friends and family judge me? Overthinking, overanalyzing, trying to figure it all out. Procrastination, perfectionism, self-sabotage, imposter syndrome. These are all side effects of overthinking. Thinking that thinking is going to think yourself out of lack or out of scarcity. You don't think yourself out of lack and scarcity. You let go of it to begin with and you start to get into the flow. You make a choice to start. You know, I do these 21-day challenges with my friend Victor where we show people how to go full-time doing what they love. And some of the biggest transformations we've seen in people is just, I do this thing where I just pretty much yell, start, start, stop waiting, just start, stop waiting, just start, start. What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? And it's like people then just start. And then 6 months later, they're like, thanks Aaron, I'm full-time because you yelled start at us for like 10 minutes straight. It's really that simple. But now even right now, even as I say, start with whatever your passion is, start following your excitement, what is happening inside of your head? "But, but, but I don't know how to do this. But what about this? But what is my passion? But what is all these?" Trying to figure it out, trying to figure it out. That's the survival mechanism that is fighting for familiar. It's fighting to keep you where you are 'cause where you are on 97.5 FM feels so familiar, so lukewarm and comfortable. Mm. "this is what I know. Yes, maybe some of these friends in this station don't want the best for me. Maybe they're bad influences. Maybe I'm drinking and smoking and doing these bad habits, but they're what I know." So could it be that the thoughts, the overthinking is keeping you tethered to the known when there's a whole new reality within you that you can begin to experience and tune to When you begin to buy into following your purpose, following your passion, stepping into the unknown. I moved to California simply because I knew that that was gonna allow me to step more into the unknown. I'm in a new environment, I've become more adaptable, 'cause for a long time I was not that adaptable. I was like, I need blackout drapes in my room so I could sleep really deep. I have all these rules that was keeping me limited in a very comfortable way of being, but I know magic happens in the unknown. Creativity happens in the unknown. I've made a video almost every single day that I've been out here in California, California, simply because I'm in a new environment and I have the energy to do so. Another part of abundance is reframing what abundance is to you. What do you value? Before, there was like a certain unconsciousness where abundance to me was like I lived in this big house, had all of these things. It was totally unnecessary for just one person, but it was like I found comfort in that somehow. And now I've defined abundance as actually not having so many things. So what I'm doing is I'm donating a whole bunch of valuable things that I always rationalized keeping. So that I can get freedom to me is being able to get up and travel places. I'm at a time in my life where I'm like, I could travel anywhere, make videos, just have an internet connection. That's what abundance is to me. It's not having materialistic things, it's actually being free. So what do I value? I value freedom, I value travel, I value having less things. Just like having less thoughts will help you become more abundant. It's almost a minimalist way of thinking about it. I remember watching this one guy on YouTube. He's a YouTuber that's in the finance, not finance, in like the business niche. His name's Alex Becker. I watched him a couple years ago. I watched him go through, I was in a mastermind, similar mastermind, the same mastermind as him when this mastermind was open. And I heard about his story and then I checked, out of stuff, but basically he was this guy that had like 6 businesses, super successful, but just extremely chaotic life. He lived in this huge house in Dallas with all of these Lamborghinis and cars and stuff. And then what he did is he had this big dramatic shift in consciousness or something, and he sold everything. He got rid of everything and he moved into a $10,000 a month apartment building with like nothing in it. Just like a bed and then like a desk and he just focused on his business. And every day all he did is he was completely minimalist. He went from extreme consumerism to extremely minimalist and everyone was like inspired by this because they saw and his reasoning was, now I can focus, now I can focus. Well, what he ended up doing is growing a business to over $100 million using the software that I think Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi and all these people use. It's like a Facebook ads thing. But anyways, he sold it for over $100 million and that was like a year or two after he like got rid of everything. And he's like, I have, so he was already very successful by then. I think he was already worth $20+ million, but he had the ability basically to live in this house, this empty house. He's like, I have enough money to pay this rent for like 150 years. So he had a lot of freedom in knowing that he didn't have too many things weighing him down, but also he just felt more free. So he went from one lifestyle of cars, things, 3-story house, being in Dallas to then being in like a smaller apartment but like with a view, maybe that was just inspiring for him but he cut away all that stuff and it cut away all the distractions. And then 2 years later he sells a company for over $100 million. Thought that was inspiring because it's like, I think a lot of times people that become successful not always, but sometimes you eventually get to a point to you realize materialism is just kind of a headache. Like it doesn't really equal any more happiness. By the time you get something like a certain car or something like that, it wears off after a couple days. You're like, why did I, I gotta pay insurance on it every month and I'm gonna drive it barely. I know this stuff sounds like, like, I don't know, first world problems, but understand what I'm saying when it comes to abundance is it's really an internal state of consciousness because whatever you experience and whatever you create on the external is fleeting unless there's a deeper sense of meaning there. I say this as someone that's gone from working a 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes to doing what I love for a living. I went from making, maybe sound kind of like, I don't know, bragging or whatever, I know it's a spiritual, a lot of spiritual content here, so sometimes that can bring up things in spiritual people because they're like, "Money is bad." But I went from making $70,000 a year to making probably $50,000, $60,000 a year on my first year on YouTube. And then after that, it went to like quarter of a million a year and then 7 figures a year, like 2 or 3 years later. And the biggest shift in consciousness, the biggest shift in energy was just that first shift. When I went from doing a 9 to 5 job to doing what I love. That was the biggest shift 'cause I bought my time back. I could go to lunch when I wanna go to lunch. I could then start shopping at Whole Foods and stuff like that. Like I didn't have to like kind of settle for like not such healthy food or good quality food. That was the biggest shift. After that, then it's like you get certain level of success to where you're like, oh, this is kind of a burden to have all of these things. I kind of wanna like be free now. And then you become free and that's kind of where I'm at now where I'm traveling and I'm realizing what, is abundance really to me? But you find this through self-exploration. You find this through realizing that more is not better. Maybe less is better. Maybe less is more free. Maybe you can be happier with less. Maybe it's more about just finding something very meaningful that you love doing that you just get into the flow state with. Like when I make these videos, I get into a flow state. So understand that for this process of abundance, it requires a certain level of letting go of the past, letting go of overthinking, just getting into a flow state and starting. Stop letting self-sabotage, imposter syndrome, procrastination, perfectionism hold you back. They're just over-analytical thoughts that are trying to keep you in the familiar. Are you gonna leave the people behind that you know? Some of them may be inspired to come with you and to elevate their mindset. Some of them won't, that's okay. You will find the people that resonate with the new abundant you and you do that by letting go and realizing it's about getting into the flow state. The more I get in flow, the more I love what I do, the more I step into the unknown, the more I start, the more magic. That's just how it works.
