The 4 Faces of Intention: How to Vibrationally Set Intentions

In this solo instructional video Aaron Doughty explains how intention—defined as a vibrational declaration of what you want to experience—shapes reality by increasing the probability of desired outcomes. He contrasts desire (an emotion of lack) with intention (a confident declaration that the experience is already yours) and introduces a four‑phase model of intention: (1) No intention, where energy is unfocused; (2) Simple intention, where one consciously declares specific outcomes for the day; (3) Expanded win‑win intention, where the focus shifts to adding value to others, raising one’s own vibration and creating abundant results; and (4) Over‑giving, where one gives so much that personal energy is depleted. Aaron illustrates each phase with personal anecdotes from his time selling high‑end shoes at Barney’s and Nordstrom, showing how shifting from profit‑centric to value‑centric intentions dramatically improved his sales and overall wellbeing. He then offers practical guidance: daily intention statements, a “completion process” meditation to clear past patterns, and a link to a 30‑minute guided meditation. The video concludes with calls to follow him on Instagram for live Q&As and daily content, and a standard YouTube call‑to‑action. The core message is that setting clear, value‑oriented intentions vibrationally aligns you with the parallel reality you wish to experience, leading to rapid, exponential growth when practiced consistently.

This video, I'm going to be sharing with you the many faces of intention. I'm going to show you as well how to vibrationally set your intentions so that you change your life. Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now this video I'm going to be sharing with you that of understanding the many faces of intention. Plus how you can vibrationally set your intentions. Now understand that intentions are one of the missing keys to so many people. Now what intentions do is intentions increase the probability of certain things happening because the truth is, is every potentiality, everything that exists exists here and now. The degree to which we experience that which we want will depend upon the intentions that we set. So before I get too deep in this video, let's understand a little bit about what intentions are. Think of intentions in a way like that of a declaration for what you want to experience in your life. So the way that reality works is that our thoughts are correlating with how we feel, our emotions. So our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions make up our vibration. And our vibration determines what we experience in our life. We will always get a reality that is an equal to that of the vibration we put out, which means how we think, how we feel, how we act. Now, a big part of this has to do with intention because intention is the direction that we are going in. So think of the intention like the momentum. So intention is a declaration to have, do, or be some type of way. Now, in general, the difference— some people will say, well, what's the difference between Desire and intention. Desire is an emotion. A lot of times also desire, saying I really, really want that, says vibrationally I really, really don't currently have that. And even though desire can sometimes move the energy, especially when that desire is turned into intention, desire in itself is not where the power is because many people just remain in the desire. I'm sure you've seen it before with people applying the law of attraction. They really, really want something. But they don't necessarily experience it unless they actually move the energy. They can move the energy with their emotion, which means they go from feeling the lack of it to feeling more and getting tastes of it till they bring more, more of it into their experience. But the main difference between intention and desire is that intention is more of a declaration. It is more of an understanding that that is already yours, whereas desire just remains as an emotion. Like if I have a desire right now to put up my hand, but I don't do it, it doesn't— there's no power in itself, but I have the desire. I might have the desire, but if I have the intention to do it, the intention is the realization of the desire. The intention is the realization and the declaration of it. And that's when I can then just move my arm up. A lot of times as well, when we think of desire, we think of trying. I'm going to try to do that. Well, trying implies struggle. Instead, if you just simply intend for it, you'll experience more of it. So think of it like this. What quantum physics shows us is that there is an infinite number of parallel realities that exist and they all exist right now. In the same way that you may watch a movie and you may see and know that if you were to take the movie film strip and look at it, you could see individual frames that are there. Now, even though the light of consciousness, the light that is going through the film projector, you know that it looks like one long fluid stream because of the light that's going through. You know though that each individual frame is a totally separate frame. In the same way, in the moment right now, you would also know that every single frame exists right now in the present moment. So also every parallel reality you can possibly imagine exists right now in the present moment. Now what determines which realities we shift to will depend upon our frequency and depend upon our intention. Intention increases probability. Intention increases probability. So if you want to, it's never the question of is this possible? It's a question is, is this probable? If you want to make something more probable, You set more intentions because intentions put the energy in that direction and the intention is that declaration and the realization of that experience. So simply set more intentions in your life and your life will begin to change very powerfully because you will be increasing the potentiality and the probability of things happening. So when it comes to this, let's understand the different phases of intention. Now me, for example, there was a time in my life when I really, really desired to be doing what I'm doing right now. Back in 2017, I was living at my dad's house. I knew that I wanted to get out of working my job at Barney's New York selling women's shoes, and I was making a video a week on YouTube, but I wasn't having and setting that many intentions at all. It was just, I was kind of doing it. I was kind of throwing it out there. but there was no intention behind what I was doing and I made videos and it was something that was kind of passionate about, kind of had one foot in, one foot out, and I was going to work at my 40 hours a week at a job that I really didn't enjoy. It's funny, yesterday I went to that, that same job that I just had, the job before that I worked at Barney's New York before that worked in Nordstrom's. My buddy and I went to the mall. We're getting ready to go to Costa Rica soon. So we went shopping and I went there, I walked through it. I was like, whoa, it was just so, so different. It was, it was a reminder. I felt really weird walking through there, but it wasn't that long ago that I was selling women's shoes, but that was when I didn't have intention. If you don't have intention, many times as well, if you are working a job you're not passionate about, that allows that to do it because it's almost in a way saying, well, if you're not going to set intentions for yourself, then someone else might set intentions for you. Now that's not to say that everyone needs to be an entrepreneur. But what I'm saying is unless you become your own boss, which means you put the energy in the direction that you want, unless you do that, somebody else may be doing that for you. But that's what I had to learn how to do. I had to learn how to instead of be told what to do, how to tell myself what to do and how to take the initiative. By taking the initiative, I then set the intentions to where then things happened for me in a powerful way because I was moving the energy instead of somebody else telling me me or guiding me on what to do. So that is the difference. So back in 2012, that's where I was at, at that Nordstrom job I was just telling you about. And then in Bari, New York back in 2017 was when I, was when I made this choice, this intention that I was going to figure this out. I was going to figure out this YouTube stuff. I was going to figure out how to grow and figure out how to spread my message. I saw other people on YouTube and I saw what they're doing. I was like, I could be doing that as well. I had, I was like, I have these unique perspectives that I haven't seen people explain the same way as me. I was like, why can't I do it? So I set the intention, I started to do it, and that's when everything in my life began to change. So the first phase of intention is no intention. Now, no intention means that there's just no energy movement in the direction that someone prefers, and maybe they desire it. Maybe they have a preference, but they're not moving the energy. Now think to yourself right now. I intend dot, dot, dot. What do you intend for? Do you intend to experience more love in your life? Do you intend to experience more of you going in the direction of what you want to experience? Do you intend to go full time doing what you love? Do you intend to feel more connections to more people? Do you intend to get in great shape with your body? Do you intend to dot, dot, dot? What do you intend for? Because unless you know what you want, unless you have a vision and an intention, It'll just remain the same and most people's life will remain the same because they're not setting intentions. So the first face of intention is that you're just simply not setting intention. And I say this because I was there. I get it. There was a shift that happened to me too. I want to share this with you as well. There's a shift that happened to me too when I went from no intention to have an intention and that was like a shift of almost seeing myself from somebody that was just kind of waiting for things to happen to someone that was doing it. Now that doesn't have to mean like work hard, work hard, but I saw myself as somebody that was moving the energy. I saw myself as somebody that was, that was more able to set my mind on something and then go for it. I started to see myself as a go-getter and it changed my self-image. Maybe some people look at me, they're like, because my work ethic is, is pretty, not to say intense, but I love what I do and I work like 14 hours a day probably, and I'm making videos, I'm editing, I'm doing other things, doing social media. I love what I do. And the reason I say that is because I couldn't— the way I see myself now and the way that I just am, a lot of people wouldn't be able to imagine it, but I used to be more of just desire it, kind of relax and see what happens. But now, like, I used to hope someone would put me on. I remember thinking that there were some, there were some YouTubers I met up with recently and I did a video with, and there were people that back in the day I remember thinking to myself, oh, it'd be so cool if I could get into their little, you know, their group and do what they do and teach people things and do speaking events. Like that was what I wanted to do. And I'm realizing now that I could do it all myself and I have done it all myself. Nobody has put me on. It's not like somebody put me on and my YouTube channel exploded. It's like literally I've consistently day in, day out been doing what I love and it's grown from there. But I had to set the intention. So the perspective shifted, my mindset shifted, my self-image shifted, these things shifted, but it shifted from not having intention to then having intention. This is the second phase. I'd say there's, there's like 4 main phases of intention I'm going to be talking about today. Now the second intention is simply having intention. I intend for dot, dot, dot. What do you intend for? It's a very powerful, very empowering. You will start to see things in your life change when you go from no intention to intention. I promise you, start to set intentions every day. Set intentions. Some people call this segment intending, and I set the intention today. Today I intend to film an amazing video that helps people all over the world. I intend to film it to enjoy filming it. I intend to complete this other business stuff that I have to do and I intend for it to go smoothly. I intend for me to enjoy the process. I intend for me to have fun today and to loosen up and to enjoy the moment. I intend to go to the gym and have a great workout. I intend to enjoy getting my hair cut. I intend to dot, dot, dot. I set intentions for my whole entire day. I intend to eat healthy, to enjoy the process of cooking the food, eating the food. Just these intentions increase the probability of these happening and a lot of these things I'm talking about are things I don't have resistance towards. Do I block resistance towards eating and enjoying my food? No, but I increase the probability of me enjoying the cooking and eating the food and enjoying it. So intention, set more intentions. Your life will transform if you set more intentions because then you increase the probability of those things happening versus just remaining more like a leaf in the wind or whatever's happening. Set more intentions. Your life will begin to change. And this is the step of empowerment that people begin to move into. Now the thing is, is let me share with you some things that I noticed when I used to work at Barney's New York selling women's shoes, going to work every day, sales commission job. By the way, I sold women's shoes. These shoes would range between $300 to $500 on the cheap end, all the way up to $1,200 to $5,000, $300 to $3,000 or $4,000 at the very, very high end. On average, about $1,200, probably about $800, $1,200 is an average price point of where I used to work at Barney's New York here in Vegas. And working there, I used to see every day you start at zero and it's all commission, pretty much all commission. You get like a real small hourly, but you, you don't even think about that. You think about the, the sales is where you make the money because you make a percentage of everything you sell. So I used to go into work every day and I'd have this intention to sell. I have intention to make money. I worked a commission sales job for over almost 10 years, and every single day that I went in, I was able to become aware of the correlation between what I think and what I experience. It was like my playground for understanding it because I love personal development. I love understanding metaphysics and understanding how our thoughts correlate with our experience in life. So there were days I'd go in with certain types of intention and I would pay attention to my types of results. There were days I'd go in with no intention and I would see the type of results. There were days I'd go into a certain empty state and I would see certain types of results. There were certain days where there was a certain way, a certain mood I was in, which is kind of like my energy state, but I would get a certain type of results. Now let me share with you what I learned. If I went in with the intention to make money, just to make money, I wouldn't get as great of results. If I went in with the intention to add value to other people, to connect to other people, to have fun in the process, you see they're very different energy states. Now, one of them, I'd go in, I'd be in a certain intention. How can these customers add value to me? How can they increase my paycheck? And by having that kind of intention, it was a lose-win. It was only going to, uh, it was only going to accentuate my own ego and make me feel good because I made more money. So I would notice I'd feel a lot of resistance. It'd be things that happened. Customers wouldn't buy. My energy would repel people if I had that intention of just to make money because they could feel that my intentions were that great. However, I would experiment because I like to also have fun at my job of where I used to work. So I would go in, I would joke around with other employees, I joke around with customers. When I did that, I would do way better. If I just put a little bit of intention in there to add value to people and to have fun, I would do way, way better because then I increased my energy state. Here's another thing I noticed versus me thinking it's all about the intellectualism of the intention. If I went into work and my intention was to increase people's energy state, that would many times result in more sales because the thing is, is when you bring people and you put people in a state of an emotion that is a better feeling emotion, like making them feel good, making them laugh. They're more in a buying state. They then appeal to the part of the brain that is more emotional. So it was almost like if I could just focus on getting people to feel good, more money would come because of it. But if I had the focus on just making the money, I'd feel the resistance and at the same time I would be blocking that. So this face of intention is about understanding the ego's desire, the ego and the lose-win situations. I want to win, therefore someone else has to lose. How can this person add value to my paycheck? I learned quickly though that if I would go beyond myself, then better things would happen. It's almost like I'm trusting the universe as well, but I'm just focusing on having fun and enjoying the present moment, enjoying the process. Now from that state of attention, there's a next step. The next step is a more expanded state of intention. This is what I was talking about, what I learned. Set the intention to have fun. Set the intention to increase the state of being. Setting the intention for it to be a win-win for everybody. If I went into work and my intention was to add value to everyone there, better things would happen. Things would literally happen for me. I'd get into a great energy state. I wouldn't be as attached to the outcome. Things that happen for me, literally, I was always in the right place at the right time on those days, and those are my most abundant days. Every single day I was able to test this, by the way. I'm not saying this as like intellectual thing. I was able to test this every single day that I went into work because I started at zero every day and I could see the correlation between what I think and what I experienced. When I had the intention of adding value to other people, amazing things would happen, even if that value was just the emotion of feeling good. So that is a win-win scenario because then what I would do is I would— some days I just go in and just focus on how much value can I add to other people, and I would go in and I would set that intention and And as I would do that, it was just amazing the way things would happen because things would happen for me. People would feel this contagious energy off of me. People just wanted to be around me. My energy was expansive. It was contagious. So that is a big difference. Now let me explain to you how I applied that in my own life because we all like practical examples. I see the same correlation in my own life now. I no longer sell women's shoes. I make YouTube videos. I travel, I do speaking events, I do masterminds, I have coaching programs that help people transform their lives. I'm blessed to be able to do what I do. However, if I go in with the intention of just trying to make money, the energy goes in, it then becomes a lose-win. Now in general, I'm in a personal development niche where my job is to pretty much add value to people. However, I can see the difference and feel the difference between if I make a YouTube video because I wanted to get a lot of views. Versus making a YouTube video because I think it'll add a lot of value. One is more of a lose-win. Some people will get value from it, but it won't be as inclusive because it's more about how can I get more views and subscribers. But if I go in with the intention of I want to add value to people and the underneath the video, like underneath this video right now is just an intention for me to add value to you. You can feel that. And one of the people, one of the things many people say about my videos is that they can feel how authentic and how much I really want to help people. They can feel that underneath my energy, and that's what I, that's what I strive for. I always want people to feel that I have this intention to add value to them because I want to be known as somebody that just adds so much value, and that's something that I put into what I do. I put that value and I'm grateful that people can feel that. However, I can definitely feel the difference. One is for trying to get— one is more the lose-win and trying to get views and whatever it is, and when I shift that over to how can I add value, things just flow and it's very powerful. It's, it's almost like things will happen even easier than ever. I'll just come up with video ideas. I'll be in the flow state. Things just happen through me when I'm expansive like that. So set the intention to add value to other people. How could you do that? Even if it's just changing the state of being of other people. If you're in a sales commission job, perfect. See yourself as adding value to other people. If you are working an hourly job somewhere, maybe you're like a bank teller or something, have the intention of adding value to the people that you talk to, making them a little bit better before they leave. You will become invaluable and you will create more opportunities for yourself if you want to do something else, or you will just create more opportunity for you to move up. Do whatever you want to do, but understand you must more than fill your present space before you could do something else. And that's why it is so powerful for you to be adding value because you will automatically more than fill your present space. Remember, you got to set the intention. Set the intention. Set the intention. I intend— I was intending to go into work those days to help a lot of people and to also have the intention to sell a certain amount, but underneath that intention was the intention to help other people. Just like now when my intentions are to make more money and to just get more YouTube subscribers, then it puts in my energy. But if I had the intention of adding value, expansive energy, high vibration, you have the ability to tap into that as well. Now there is a level I believe as well. I call this the fourth level. The fourth face of intention is giving too much without the awareness of filling up your own cup. You ever see some people go around there, just give, give, give, give, give, give, and they can never take a second to relax. That's me. Sometimes I do that. I am somebody sometimes that is putting out videos daily, twice a day on Instagram, videos on YouTube, videos on pod— or like podcast episodes. Just so many, so much different content. But sometimes I got to take a step back and chill out because if I don't fill up my own cup, I'm not going to have anything left to give. Now in general, I've been doing that, but I'm learning more and more to fill up my own cup, to enjoy myself, to watch a documentary, to go do something I want to do. And, but there's some people in general also that just, they can't receive. Sometimes a lot of people in the spiritual community as well, it's like they're giving, giving, giving. Somebody will offer them money and they'll say, no, no, this is a spiritual gift. But you were put on this earth to add value to other people. And one of the energy exchanges might be that right now of using money. So if it feels inauthentic, might want to become aware of why that is. Is there a belief there that's maybe saying, oh, I can't receive, or this is a negative thing, but we live in a society right now that has that kind of structure in place. That's how we, that's how we measure things. So from certain perspectives, maybe one day we'll transcend that. I think that one day we will. However, for now it's about just feeling good and feeling authentic and knowing that you can still receive. And part of that receiving might be you just relaxing, might be you enjoying yourself, might be you becoming, having that, creating that space. It's something I'm working on right now, working on having more fun, just enjoying myself, not having to always do, do, do, do, do, do. So these are the 4 main phases of intention. 1, no intention whatsoever. When people just are, don't have a vision for what they want to experience. That's where I was just 2 and a half years ago, and that's where you can make, you can make changes. 2 and a half years you go from, I was 9 to 5 job working at Barney's New York selling women's shoes. Now I do what I love every single day. It's the first part of the morning right now. It's probably getting brighter because the sun's coming up more and it's because I get up every day doing what I love and now I get to live in that way and I think that's something you could do as well if you set the intention for it. So no intention to then setting intention, but having the intention to be more about what can I gain, which is more of a lose-win. Be aware of it. It's still moving the energy and then move into the next phase, which is where I think the magic spot is, the sweet spot, which is adding intention and adding value to other people. Making it a win-win, increasing your state of being, increasing your emotion. And when you do that, you'll find that things happen very, very quickly. That's when things for me really begin to exponentialize. That's when people said, your videos really helped me. I can really tell that they could feel something underneath what you say. That's when things really begin to happen. And then the fourth step or the fourth phase is that of giving a little bit too much. So having that balance to give to yourself, give to yourself as well. And if you do that, you fill up your own cup and then you can add value to other people. So if you want to, also part of this process has to do with understanding, completing the patterns of the past and feeling 100% worthy, whole and complete. The most powerful meditation that I've made is the completion process meditation, which you'll see in the top of the description box below. This meditation will help you to complete your past so that you start to live right now in the present moment so that when you do start to set intentions, it's coming from a high energy, high vibration state. So like I said, it's a YouTube video. Click on the bottom. It's about a 30-minute meditation. If you listen to it for 21 days, it will change your life. Read the comments to see what I'm talking about. You'll see tons of people that have had certain type of results and you'll see what's possible for you. Also, I'm going to be doing more live Q&As on Instagram, so if you haven't followed me already, you can follow me on Instagram here. More live Q&As. So if you want to ask me questions, you can do that there. Plus I do daily content there twice a day. I post videos there. So you get more of what I share. A little bit different too. It's a little bit look inside of my life versus just the YouTube videos. So you follow me there as well. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it. Subscribe if you haven't already. Hit the little notification gear next to the subscribe button so you can see the daily bits that I do. And other than that, as always, peace, much love, and namaste.
