The Belief System of a Millionaire (the good, the bad and the ugly)

In this video Aaron Doughty outlines the mindset that underlies becoming a millionaire, breaking it into its positive, negative, and shadow aspects. He argues that true wealth stems from living one’s purpose and adding value, not from chasing money as a goal. He shares personal anecdotes of moving from a 9‑to‑5 mindset to a creator’s identity, emphasizing responsibility for one’s reality, the power of aligning thoughts, feelings, and actions, and the necessity of continual learning (marketing, video production, events, email). A clear vision and purpose are presented as sustainable drivers, while the ability to set boundaries and say no to distractions is highlighted. Aaron then warns of the darker side of the millionaire belief system: a competitive, comparison‑driven mindset, the “never enough” trap, the pursuit of significance for validation, and the tendency to let success dominate content. He advises viewers to become aware of their money stories, reframe limiting beliefs, stop chasing abundance, and instead model successful people through books and content, aligning with their vibration. Practical steps include daily video creation, studying marketing, reading successful role‑models, and consciously shifting from external validation to internal contribution.

In this video, I'm going to show you the belief system of a millionaire. Not just the good things though. I'm going to show you the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of the belief system of a millionaire. Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'm going to be sharing with you the belief system of a millionaire and I'm going to show you the good parts, the bad parts, the ugly parts, and that's so that you know and you can become aware of these things. Now first off, let me say that the intention to be a millionaire normally is kind of going about it the backwards way. The key and the focus should really be on you doing what you absolutely love, you living your purpose, knowing that the more you live your purpose and you also add value to other people, the more that value then comes back. That's the reality we live in. We live in a reality where what you put out is what you get back. And when you put out value, people will then give you energy back because of that value and the energy exchange that we use in this reality right now. Least is that of the money system. So because of that, the question of being focused on the money is like being focused on the side effect, the side effect of you living your passion. So I guess it's kind of like something I just wanted to get off my chest first. And in my own journey of success and accomplishing everything I have with, you know, on my YouTube channel and everything I have in my life, I'm going to share with you the things that I've learned about the process of having the belief system of being a millionaire, of accomplishing that, and of also knowing that This is really about understanding more so and questioning the beliefs you already have because prior to me doing what I do now, I had the belief system of being a 9 to 5 person. I believed that I needed to have a 9 to 5 job and because that was my belief, my actions— remember, this is your vibration, a combination of what you think, what you feel, and how you act. These 3 things is what causes you to have a certain reflection in your life. Your reality will be equal to that. Well, I used to believe, think, feel, and act as a 9 to 5 type person. I had to go to a job. That was the story I told myself. Now breaking out of that is what changed a lot. So first, let's go ahead and get into this video. I'm going to change— I'm going to share with you some of the beliefs of millionaires and show you the good and the bad side of that. So first off, and some of the stories that I have about that as well. So the first one I wrote down has to do with being responsible for where you are in life. Now, many people that are millionaires at a certain point normally had sometimes even a rock bottom. A rock bottom where they hit some type of bottom and they said, okay, I need to change something. And not only do I need to change something, I can change something. And that many times could be the trigger point. Now for myself, I used— this is how I used to want to do it. And that— and I'm not laughing at anybody that does this because this was me in the past. But the way that I went about manifestation maybe, you know, 5 years ago is I literally would just think about it. I was working my 9-to-5 job and I would just think about it on the couch of like Tony Robbins or, or I met Jack Canfield handful one time, I was thinking, oh, if they just meet me, they would somehow psychically see that I have this potential. And then they would, they would be like, Aaron, you are going to make it. I'm going to put you on my stage and I'm going to let you and help you become this person you were meant to be. And that was the story in my head. And I was thinking about it a lot, but then eventually one day I had this realization. I need to actually be the kind of person, the version of me that would then, that would then be having the reality reflection that I want. So I said, okay, you may know the story. I saw myself and I was like, okay, if I make a video every single day for a year, my life will transform. I need to become the YouTuber before I am the YouTuber, if that makes sense. I need to just give myself permission to do it. So I started making daily videos. And once I applied that, once I realized I can change my reality, that's when things begin to change. I realized that no one's gonna put me on. Maybe there's some, you know, lucky coincidence where someone can experience that, but I don't think it's as common. I think that it really is, you know, we live in a physical reality and we have thoughts, feelings, and actions, thoughts, feelings, and actions. These all three are aligned. So if I were to think of people putting me onto some, you know, like platform and feel it but not acted, I'm not completing the circuit, you see. So people that are millionaires have the belief that they want to change and that they can change. So that's something as well, and that they're going to take responsibility for where they are and then the direction for where they're going. Going. So that's another common belief that many millionaires have. Um, another belief has to do with failure. If you think that you failed and you say and you declare it as failure early on and you give up, that's when things won't— you won't develop momentum. If after I made like 10 videos I was like, well, you know, I made 10 videos, I'm actually getting less views per video now that I have more videos out there, uh, and given up, then I wouldn't be where I am today. But I trusted the vision, I trust the process, and Once again, I learned. I learned as I went. I even learned aspects of the business I didn't know that much about. For example, when I started making videos, there was this whole side of the business that had to do with understanding marketing, understanding what propelled people to click on videos. And you may notice I got some flashy video titles. I got some flashy thumbnails where the idea is that people click on it, then they see how much value's in the video, then they're happy they clicked on it regardless of the yellow text or anything. Well, I had to learn marketing. I had to learn how that works so that I could then get and grow that vision, you see. So some of the aspects you may not be the most passionate about, but in the beginning when you're, when you're, you know, now that I've done that, I know I can apply that towards many different things. I can learn. I almost have more than anything I'd say as well is becoming successful has changed my self-image. I'm like, okay, well, if I can learn this whole YouTube thing, I can also learn this whole event thing, how to run events. I can also learn how to do this whole email thing, you see. I can apply it towards many different things. So somebody that has a millionaire belief system is adaptable to change and is able to learn. So, so that is something as well. Now, many millionaires and that kind of belief systems will have a certain purpose and a certain vision that they are moving towards. So for me, it's a vision, it's a purpose of me helping other people to wake up. So it's helping people to go through, and people that normally wouldn't be open to spiritual, esoteric information, making and helping people feel comfortable getting to to this unfamiliar territory. So that's my vision, that's my purpose, and that drives me. And many people that are millionaires, they're driven by a vision, they're driven by a purpose, and that's what drives them. If it's, if it's just for the money, it's not really that sustainable. But if it's something you're actually passionate about, it is much more sustainable that way. It gives you a stronger why as well. Now, something else I'll say is the ability to say no. Many millionaires and people with the millionaire belief system at a certain point will have to say no to certain things. When I first started growing my business and I started growing on, on, on YouTube, there were people like, hey Aaron, come hang out. And I'd say, I really want to go hang out. I really want to go hang out. I was like, wait, I have a vision. I have a purpose. I have to say no to that if I want to say yes to my vision. Maybe it's not like you always say no, but you have to develop the ability to have boundaries, to say no, this is, this is something I have to do. So I had to say no to a lot of times people asking to hang out and it kind of sucked, but it was worth it because it grew my vision. And now I get to work from wherever I want. You guys, look at this. Like, this is, this is where I live, okay? Right now, okay? I'm looking for a house right now and I'm living in— I just got to Vegas a couple days ago. So this right now is where I'm at and, and I love my life. I love the freedom that it, that it provides. However, that's something else. Another thing I wanted to talk about for a second is that natural things become natural. If you're like, oh, it'd be so cool to be a millionaire, it'd be so cool, it's resistant energy. And sometimes Sometimes action, you being, you acting as the version of you that's doing what you're passionate about, seeing how you can add value to other people, that will dissipate some of that energy. But when you become successful, you know, I thought that becoming successful and, and, and, and being that way, I thought that what would happen is it would feel completely different. Well, guess what happens? The money in the bank account goes up. But it's natural. It's natural. It's not what you think. I'll say that from experience. It's not what you think. Even like, you know, you could look at like growing a YouTube channel and say, well, I remember when I first had a YouTube channel, I was like, oh, well, when I get to 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, I feel amazing. I'm gonna go to the gym and be like, whoa, it feels amazing. It just, it's gonna be awesome. Then I, then 100,000 came around and it was like, oh, this is really cool. And it went away after like a day. That's how it works. My voice is kind of blown out. I was at a Tony Robbins event for 6 days. Forgive me. And Ho'oponopono, please forgive me. I love you. I'm so sorry. So kind of lost my train of thought. Anyways, I was talking about— I was talking about something. Okay, I'm gonna move on to the next one. So the, the, the bad— okay, it's all about the bad parts of millionaire belief system. So these are the bad and the ugly side of it. Now, I was talking about— I was talking about the, the— you always think it's gonna be more, and then you're like, Oh, we talked about the Tony Robbins event. I'm sorry, let me complete this loop real quick. At the Tony Robbins event, Tony was talking about how anytime you achieve a goal, you'll feel happy for what, a month, 2 months, 3 months, a day, a week? It's normally, we found out, between hours and a couple weeks that you feel happy for achieving a goal. But then that happiness goes back down to your set point. That's why I think raising your vibration is the most powerful thing you can do because then you're not as, you don't need those things to feel, significant or good. However, even no matter what, so 100,000 subs, then 200, then 300, then 400, and it's like, it's just a number. There's no number that's gonna be like, oh, it's just gonna be natural. That's what I've learned from whether it's money or whether it's growth or whatever, it doesn't really mean much long-term. It's just like, oh, okay, cool, I set my mind to it and I accomplished that. Now let's go to the negative side. Now I used to work a sales commission job. Every day I went in, I started at zero and I got paid a commission on what I sold. And I had other coworkers I was with. Now, one thing I remembered from that is that there was a high level of a competitive mind state or competitive mindset because you felt like you were competing with your other people. Because if those people got good sales from customers, you'd be thinking yourself, I could have had that sale, I could have helped them, but you don't even know for sure. Like, what if you helped them and your energy was different than connect when you connected with the customer and you didn't sell that shoe? Who knows? You know, I worked in women's shoes. However, when you start to become very successful, there may be somewhat of a competitive mindset that kind of comes into play because then you start to protect, you feel like you need to protect your territory. Um, I felt this before even with my own YouTube videos because I make, you know, I made 1,000 YouTube videos and there's sometimes that people, you know, cause they see that maybe my channel's doing well, they will literally remake the same videos that I have on YouTube. So I'll make a video. And then what'll happen is somebody else will make that same exact video title in a way, you know, make that video and then I'll feel in a way like my creativeness is being threatened or it'll be a certain like, you know, a certain like competitive thing that'll come in. It's like, that's my content or something like that, you know? And that's come up for me many times where I have to become aware of it. I have to let it go and I have to realize that I just, I'm creating my own vision and there's enough to go around and I don't need that mindset. However, I can see how people get trapped trapped in it. I could see how people get trapped in that, uh, mentality. When I had that 9-to-5 job, you know what really changed things for me is instead of going in every day competing with other people, I went in every day and what I did is I had what's called a creative mindset. Now, creative mindset is that where you realize that there's an abundance to go around and you don't ever give it a meaning that says, oh, somebody else just had a great sale, now I'm not going to have a great sale. You see what I mean? It's like knowing, oh, there's plenty of YouTube videos out, I can make my own videos and know that there's a lot of people out there and maybe someone explains it in a different way that resonates with them regardless of the fact that it's the same title or whatever. So it's about really just being aware of that. There's always enough to go around. So the negative side of that though is the competition. So the other negative side effect of this is that it never is enough with the negative beliefs of being a millionaire or being very successful like that. It's almost like it becomes, because it becomes so natural, natural, you know, eventually one day having $1 million in your bank account, when that's natural, you'll then see it as small and you'll start comparing yourself to other people that do way more than that. I know people that may make like $10 million a year, and then you look at yourself and you're like, well, I'm not doing that much. And you start comparing yourself to other people and you always feel a little bit short. So the comparison trap can be very dangerous with the belief system of being a millionaire. The, the feeling that it's never enough. You see a lot of very successful people that are miserable because they're always trying to get more. If I could just get a little bit more success, if I could just get the next million, then I could feel worthy. And it's not really the way it works. The way it works is you have to generate that from within. You have to generate that state first, otherwise it will never be enough. So that's another negative side effect or a negative belief that some millionaires will have is that it's never enough and I need to have more, I need to have more. Now, something I became aware of with this as well is seeking significance. I was at the Tony Robbins event and we're driven by 6 human needs. It's certainty, uncertainty, significance, love and connection, growth, and contribution. Now, a lot of people that are millionaires will be driven by significance. I know for me, honestly, there's times where I feel like I may have been doing things because I had such a rough childhood and because maybe people didn't believe in me. There's a certain level of unworthiness there, and I think a desire to prove myself, you know. I didn't do the cookie-cutter cut her out of how I think, you know, I think my dad wanted me to go like law school or wanted me to be a certain way. I didn't do that. I paved my own way and I decided to, you know, do my own business. And there's a certain necessity to prove myself, even like friends that didn't understand and like, oh, you're still doing that YouTube thing. Even to this day, people still will say to me, you're still doing the YouTube thing, you know? And it's kind of like, yeah, I am a huge, I'm a successful person too, you know what I mean? It was like this necessity to be significant. And there's a trap with being, with being that, you know, being successful is that sometimes you feel like that success will define you and make you feel more significant. And that's a dangerous trap to get in. Instead, be driven by— I'm driven now more so by contribution. I became aware of the shadow aspect of my unworthiness and trying to prove it to people. And now I'm more driven by love and connection and contribution and growth, which are higher vibrational needs to meet versus significance and certainty, which is something I was primarily driven by a while ago. So that's another one. Another thing I'll say as well is sometimes you see with some people that start to become very successful, I know I've seen it with some YouTubers, some, you'll see some YouTubers, they start to lead with their success. You'll see people lead and be like, look at my mansion, look at this. And every video is then in their mansion. Every video is them talking about their car. Every video is talking about this. Now I think those things can be like maybe powerful metaphors. You know, like maybe, maybe when I move into my new house, I'll be like, guys, look how far I've come. I used to believe this and now I'm here, but it'd be like one video, you know, and it wouldn't be the center of the video. Even if the center of the video would be like how you could do it too, you know. But, but I've seen some YouTubers even that grow to a certain level, and then what happens is they grow to a certain level and then their content starts being less about what they love doing and what they're passionate about, and it becomes more about the money and the success and it starts to take on a whole new vibe. And that's something that I'm very mindful of and something I don't want to ever fall into. But I can see how it happens because then they start to, you know, they start to, in a way they're so excited about it. But I think that's a very numbing thing. It's something that eventually goes, that feeling goes away or it becomes natural. But, um, it takes the love and the passion out of it in a way. And you see it happen sometimes with certain YouTubers. Now it's something that, uh, it could be a dark side of this as well. Now Those are some of the negative side effects. Now here's what I recommend you do. Become aware of the beliefs you have about money. You know, I used to believe money was bad. I thought money was bad. When I went through my spiritual awakening, I became aware that money is not backed by gold. I became aware that money is a, you know, the banks are corporations and it's a, I kind of had this belief system that it's a level of control on the planet and it was a negative belief. Guess what? I could not attract money with that belief system, with that belief mindset. Instead, I realized money is an exchange of energy and that the more resources I have, the more I can build a team and I could travel to events and I could spread this message even grander. So I reframed it. This is about becoming aware of your beliefs and then reframing those beliefs. So this is what the key to this whole entire process is. And the more that you go through this process, the more that you, that you stop chasing, especially, especially stop chasing money. Stop chasing abundance. You know, I have a video on stop— how to stop chasing it and how exactly what to do instead, how to make it natural for you. I'm gonna link it below. It's called Stop Chasing Money and Success and Instead Do This. So you'll see that in the top of the description box. Watch that video. It'll show you how to go through that process as well and how to reframe those money beliefs. But change the meaning of the story you have about money. Become aware. What is the story you have about money? What is the story your parents had about money? Because that might be on autopilot. Become aware of these things and then see that most of it's just been on autopilot. And then when you're aware of how it's been on autopilot, you can then change it to something more of what you want. Read books by successful people that you want to be like. If you want to own your own art gallery studio, read people— read books from people that own art gallery studios. You know, I read books on Tony Robbins, and I, I enjoy also getting my mindset in a similar mindset as his, because when you read a book, I believe you tap into the energy of the book, the energy of the mindset of the person that wrote the book. So the cool thing about that is that by doing that, what then happens is you begin to link up with their vibration, and then it kind of helps you see more opportunities and see things in a new way. So read books, watch content from people that you want to be more like. At the same time, be aware of the shadow aspect of becoming a millionaire, of becoming successful, and realize that it may not be everything that you thought it was. But if you're doing what you're passionate about, it'll be okay. You'll be able to lead with your passion, lead with your heart, and you'll find that then it doesn't go in that negative direction. So watch the video below below. Other than that, I'll talk to you later. Peace, much love, and namaste.
