The Most Powerful Technique to change your Self-Image Meditation

Aaron Doughty guides a meditation to reshape your self-image in three parts: ground yourself in the present, visualize your preferred identity, then act as that person. He argues that changing your internal beliefs changes what you experience in the world.

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'm going to be sharing with you the most powerful process, like meditation, that we can use to change our self-image. Now this is what I believe, one of the things that holds people back the most comes from the way that we define ourselves to be. The beliefs that we have and the self-image that we have is constantly recreating the same experiences over and over. And if we get to the core of who we believe we are and we change that perspective we have at ourselves of who we are, we then begin to change the way we show up in the world. I believe that when we go out we see other people, that our self-image is projected out and that other people are responding to us based upon that self-image. So if we change the way that we view ourself, we then begin to change the way other people perceive of us, and we also change the kind of things we experience in our life. Because as we change who we are being, we then change the reflection that comes with it because our beliefs are creating the reality that we experience and the definitions we have are shaping and coloring the way that we see the world. Now there's going to be 3 parts to this meditation. The first part, what I'm going to do is make us and bring us more into the present moment. I'm going to, uh, make this a sort of meditational exercise. It's going to be an interactive thing where we learn certain ideas or we kind of ponder them and then we direct our attention towards the way that we think about ourselves. Now Understand that with this process comes understanding who we are. The first part involves deconstructing who we think we are. Then it comes from reconstructing who we prefer to be. And then the third part is us being that which we want to be. So there's 3 parts to this. I'm going to go through each one and we're going to together look at who we define ourselves to be and change the way that we view ourselves. So first off, what we can do is become much more present to the moment. Now to do this, all we simply have to do is bring the awareness into our body. As we bring the awareness into our body, we are taking the energy out of our intellectual thinking mind and we are then bringing it into our body, making us more present to the moment and making it so that we are much more able to actually influence our subconscious mind. So let's right now take a deep breath in with me. Take a deep breath out. And as we do that, bring the awareness into your hands and into your feet. So right now, breathe out. All right, so right now, take a deep breath in with me. And breathe out and bring the awareness into your hands and into your feet, and then begin to feel it into your arms, into your chest, into your heart space, into your legs. And as you begin to do that, you can begin to become aware of those sensations. Become aware of every time you take a breath in and take a breath out and just observe The sensations. Observe the thoughts. So one more breath. All right, so now what I'd like to do is direct your attention to who you are being. Now, this is where the power of this whole video is, is understanding that there has been a belief that has been writing our life. And that this belief is that we are a product of who we have been in the past, that we are a product of the beliefs that we've obtained since we were very young, that those beliefs have shaped the kind of experiences that we've had, how we relate to the world, and that because of that, we've continued to perpetuate the same person day in and day out. Now, because we've been conditioned to believe that we are our past, we are who we think we've been, that's been keeping us recreating ourself every single day. Now realize that we are recreating ourselves every day, but because we believe in this idea, we are recreating the illusion that we are who we were yesterday and who we were before that. So we recreate the illusion of who we are every single day, not knowing that if we simply know that we are who we create ourselves to be today, that we can let go of the past, we can let go of the stories and start to see ourselves in a brand new way. So this is about knowing that we are not the result of our past. We are a result of who we prefer to be in the present moment. This is what will shift our life, and if you choose for it to be right now in this moment, for you to simply decide that you're a new person, then from this point going forward, you're going to begin to develop that state of being. So realize that you are now a totally different person than who you were when you began this meditation, that we thought we were the result of our beliefs. Of who we defined ourselves to be. But in this moment, we can choose to look at ourselves in a completely new way. We can choose to look at some of the past things that happened to us in a completely new light. Now, what we can do right now is look in our mind to some of the beliefs we have about who we are. We might believe that we are capable of only making a certain amount of money every year, that we are only capable of attracting a certain type of person even though we know we want something more. Look at those beliefs and realize that they are an accumulation of who you thought that you were, but what you can begin to do now is to look at that and realize that you do not need to choose to recreate that now in the present moment. So as we begin to become more aware of this and anchor this into who we are, We then begin to let go of the old self-image of who we thought we were, and we realize that from this point going forward, if we recreate that self-image, it's coming from choice, not from autopilot. Most people recreate themselves day in and day out based upon just the autopilot of who we think we are. We are now aware of who we have been, and we can now recondition ourselves to be who we prefer. To be. So now the second part of this is us recreating the self-image that we prefer. Now to do this, we're going to use visualization and our imagination. So what I encourage you to do now is to simply look into your imagination at the perfect version of yourself, of what you would be doing, how you would be acting, what your body language is like, how you talk to other people. Now realize that this probable version of you exists right now in this moment. The only reason you haven't been that person is because you've been identified with this past illusionary self. Now if you simply look at that self, that probable self of you doing exactly what you want to do, what is the body language? How are you acting? Who are you being? Begin to put more attention onto it. And now this is where the power is. Feel that that is who you are now. The only thing holding you back from feeling that that's who you are now is the story you were telling yourself. Feel into the visualization of imagining who you prefer to be. Feel into it. What does that feel like? Viscerally bring it into your body. The more that you imagine it, the more that you tap into those reference experiences, the more that you begin to anchor that into a part of who you are. So visualize it right now. How are you acting? You might see that you go to your job doing what you love doing, or maybe you recreate your own job of what you prefer to do, that nobody has to tell you what to do, that you are with the best version of the relationship you would want to be in, that you feel the sensation now of what that would feel like. And that from this point going forward, that is just who you are. So as you begin to identify yourself as this new self-image, as you begin to every day just begin to recreate the sensations of what that would feel like, you are anchoring in the new self and that is who you are. Now the third part of this is behaving and acting as if that is who you are. Now this might mean that you walk around and recreate the visualization while you're alone in your room, that you recreate scenarios and you feel as if that is who you are now. You begin to take action. If your desire is to work for yourself, start to create that for yourself. Start to realize that you can do what you want to do. Start to take massive action. The more action you take, the more likely you are to anchor that into a part of who you are. So come back to this meditation If you want to keep recreating the self-image that you prefer and realize that you have the power to recreate who you prefer to be, that will then begin to let go of the story that you're telling yourself and you start to then see the reflection on the external of who you are being. Realize there might be a small echo of the old self-image that you have, so you do not need the external to reflect the new self-image. You will respond differently even if the reflection is what it was. But as you respond in a new way and you just prefer to be who you are, you then find that eventually the paradox is your reality will reflect that change. So with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it, share it if you found it of value, and as always, I will see you guys on the next vid. Peace, much love, namaste. All right, bye.
