The Truth on Astrology (and its Influence over us)

Aaron Doughty argues astrology works as a symbolic mirror, not destiny. His Sagittarius chart and his father's fire-investigator role show correlations, but treating astrology as absolute rules creates self-imposed limits on relationships and careers. Real power comes from awareness and free will.

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron Doughty and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'm going to be explaining the truth on astrology, but really just, I'm going to give you the way that I view this idea. And really, I want to encourage you to take your power back and understand that astrology is a tool that we can use, but that the real power exists in you and the way that you define what that means to be. So this is about understanding that in our life we have the ability of what is called free will. You have the control over what happens in your life depending upon what you believe to be true, the action that you take, the perspective that you have, where your focus is. There's a couple variables that really determine what your destiny is. Now it's really about understanding that from that point you can use those, and if you use those, those will bypass any limitation that astrology might show you. Now understand, sometimes astrology shows us good things. Like for me, for example, using my birth chart or using even some like very generalized ideas. You know, I'm a Sagittarius, so there's certain things that I see that I really relate to. And even with my birth chart, it says something about me being somebody that spreads ideas or that does like speaking, you know. And I've known I wanted to be a speaker since I was like 14 years old. So when I look at that, I'm like, oh, see, that's right. That's who I am. But really, there's a whole— also, there's other things that it says that I'd be good at. So it's about understanding, you know, when I look at this, I see that there could definitely be a correlation. You know, my dad is a fire investigator, and under his it says you make a good investigator. My grandma has been to like almost like almost every US state and like so many different countries. She travels like 3 or 4 times a year, and one of the first sentences on one of her birth charts says that you're a world-class traveler. So it's kind of funny because I definitely see there could be correlations. But it's also about understanding that it's a tool and a symbol. It's not something that influences us to a degree to where if there's something we want to do that's not in alignment with what astrology says, it's about understanding that it's just what we make it to be. So what we can start to do is to realize that we have free will, that we can determine where our life goes and the direction based upon our thoughts, our beliefs, our emotions, our state of being, all of those things. Now I also— this is just my unique, kind of unique perspective— is the way that I view the idea of astrology is it's kind of like a pattern that directs our life until we become aware of who we are. And by that, just meaning the fact that we can— the idea that we can influence the direction of our life. But once we become the cause and not the effect, We then start to take our power back, and it's like astrology has less and less meaning over our lives. Now, this means that once we become aware of the fact that we are creating our reality or that we are taking control of our state of being, that's where we really begin to take our power back. And that from that point, I believe that's the way I think about it. The powers are not all the power, not all the patterns. I'm just saying in general, then it switches from that having power over us to then us having more of the cause and being at the cause than the effect. So this is why awareness is very powerful, but also it's about understanding to not fall onto the other side of the spectrum because sometimes people look at astrology and then it becomes a form of like a belief system. It almost becomes something that they impose on themselves. And it kind of creates a box because then they say that, oh, I couldn't do this because astrology says this, or I shouldn't marry between this age and this age, or until I'm like in my 30s or 40s. That's something that mine says. And honestly, I mean, it's kind of the way I'm going just because I'm so busy and stuff. But it's funny to me because what I've learned to do is not let that be a limitation that holds me back from being myself in the moment, but also just realizing that that's kind of a box we put around ourselves. So sometimes it's almost more beneficial to not see it as an end-all be-all and to not adopt it as a belief system because then somebody might hold themselves back from being in a relationship until they're in their 30s because of that idea and they may have actually not been authentically themselves and met somebody that could have been exactly what they were looking for. That's just one example. Or somebody has a certain career they want to try out, but they won't even try it because their astrology report says that they're not good with numbers or finances or they're not meant to be wealthy or whatever it is, just understand that the moment you become aware that you're at the cause and not the effect, that's when you begin to take your power back. You can use astrology as a tool, but that tool is not where the power is. The power is really inside of you. That acts as a reflection. It's funny because a lot of times we look at the idea of astrology and we think that the stars are set in motion and that we are the effect of that, like whatever our actions do is the effect of what planets are moving in this direction or this direction. What if we are constantly changing, and as we change, the astrology is changing to reflect the changes that we make? Even the changes we make at a collective consciousness type level. Who knows? I don't know the exact answer, but what I'm saying is, is we can start to look at it from a new point of view. We can start to view ourselves at the cause, not the effect, We can use it as a tool. We can definitely see reflections there and we can use it. It can be a powerful thing, but the most important thing is the control over our own state of being, the direction of where we're going, what we believe to be true. If we take, if we take control over those things and not even necessarily control because control kind of implies a dependence to the outcome, but if we just kind of direct it in that direction to becoming aware of what we believe to be true, aware of our perception and the actions that we're taking. That's the most powerful way. And from that point of view, astrology will not have so much power over us because we're starting to see it from a new point of view. So with this video, I just want to encourage you to know that it can be a symbol, it can be a reflection, but that the real power exists in what it means to you. Those are neutral props. And even if they're neutral props that may be at a collective society level, we've determined that this house and this node, this means this and this means this. That is at some level a belief system and that belief system can have power over us if we view ourselves as a victim to it. So it's about taking our power back, having the awareness that it is a tool that we can use. It can be valid if we see it that way. That's why I think it's very determinant on what our perspective is. But understanding that at the core of who you are, that's where the real power actually exists. So that's it for today. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it, share it if you found it of value, and as always, I'll see you guys on the next vid. Peace, much love, namaste. All right, bye.
