They went from NEEDY to MAGNETIC in 17 minutes (Powerful exercise)

In this live workshop Aaron Doughty guides participants through a 17‑minute exercise that demonstrates how a calm, regulated nervous system creates magnetic influence, while an agenda‑driven, excited stance can repel. He explains that the "frame" we hold – whether we focus on being chosen or on shared values – determines whether we operate from an external or internal locus of control. Doughty contrasts two ways of sharing a belief: first with excitement and a persuasive agenda, then with slow, heart‑centered presence and no attachment to agreement. Volunteers (Speaker B and Lexi) practice both styles, first expressing a hot‑take about extraterrestrials, then a grounded statement about oneness, and finally Lexi shares a passionate call for somatic regulation in schools. The audience observes the energetic shift between the two expressions, noting how calm presence feels more spacious and inviting. Throughout, Doughty promotes his High Vibe Tribe community and his SHIFT framework (Seeing the pattern, Healing the root, Integrating the frequency, Transformation) as tools for internal change. The session blends concepts of nervous‑system entrainment, internal vs external locus of control, authenticity versus manipulation, and the practical impact of somatic regulation on personal and collective well‑being.

If when you go meet people, you are in a strong, calm, regulated nervous system, centered inside of yourself, that means you have influence. Is there anything that you believe?
ETs will show up very soon and they are here not to save us.
That excitement will probably repel them away. So what if you were to express that now from a place of presence and just the pure expression of it? Between two people, there are different frames. And whoever— normally, the person with the most calm and regulated nervous system has the strongest frame in between two different people. So if when you go meet people, you are in a strong, calm, regulated nervous system, centered inside of yourself, that means you have influence, not in a manipulative way, but it just means People likely entrain with your nervous system. So if you want to begin to surround yourself with people with more calm, regulated nervous systems, what do you think the best thing to do is? Exactly, to begin to have a calm, regulated nervous system. Do you have a calm, regulated nervous system if when you meet people, you feel like you need to manage their emotions or ease tension? Not so much, right? But if you can let them feel what they're feeling and you can stay centered inside of yourself, that becomes that initiation that we're talking about. So allowing yourself to feel in your body the difference between these energies is the thing that I would, I want to explore next. So when you think of like someone going on a date, for example, if someone goes on a date and their question is, "Does this person like me?" How is that gonna affect their energy and how they're showing up? How is that gonna affect how they express themselves? That's a frame of reality. Do you guys see that? That's a frame, like, "Will they like me or not?" Now imagine you go on a date And your frame is, do we have things in common? Do we have similar values? Do we have similar passions? Do we complement each other nicely, energetically? Do you feel how that's a different frame? And in one, it's like the power's outside. It's tuned to them. What do they think? And the other, it's curious and the focus is on expression. The focus is on, it's like, it's okay if they resonate with you, it's okay if they don't resonate with you. One is there's no option for being rejected. Do you see that? It's like demanding someone else chooses me. If someone is saying, I need to be chosen, or I want someone else to choose me, the key is you have to actually let people not choose you to be free. What is so bad about people not choosing you? You may have actually not wasted more time. The fear is that underneath the surface, there may be some level of shame there, and the fear is that if they don't choose you, it means what? Exactly, there's something wrong with you, you're not good enough. But the key is recognizing, that it may not mean anything about you. So you can actually let them not choose you. You can let them not resonate with you. Is there more freedom in being able to go around and get everyone to like you? Or is there more freedom in being able to be yourself and let those that like you find you and let those that don't resonate with you not waste your time anymore? It's a different filter, isn't it? You could even say it's a different frame. And all of us have a certain frame through which we see our reality. We can see our reality through a certain type of spiritual frame that at certain levels can be very exciting. You see 11:11, wow, what does that mean, right? I'm in alignment. And you see like, You see like some other number and you're like, "No, I'm not in alignment." You can put the power outside of yourself. The frame is, "What am I supposed to be doing? What am I supposed to be doing? Is this meant to be?" One of the frames can be, there's this thing called an external locus of control and an internal locus of control. And that the challenge is that with spirituality, there's a certain level of external locus of control where it's like we're tuned to something greater than us. We're tuned to God or the divine. But there becomes a level to which it's like our power is completely put outside of ourselves. And then it's like, we're just waiting for signs, we're waiting for things to happen. So it's like we lose our sense of gravity or a sense of frame. I believe it's about this and that. It's about being in your own frame, Choosing what things mean to you, choosing where you put your energy, allowing yourself to express yourself authentically. Let authenticity be the filter that finds the people that resonate with you at a deep level, and let it be the filter that repels away the people that you not, not resonate with anymore. So what we're gonna do now is we're gonna do an exercise. How many of you would like to do an exercise to embody this? Yeah? Now, before you go deeper into the video, I wanna invite you to experience this for free inside a community I have that's a free community called High Vibe Tribe. I run continual challenges in this community as well as there are free resources that can show you how to transform your life from the inside out. This is also where I teach my signature SHIFT framework, S-H-I-F-T, seeing the pattern, healing the root, integrating the frequency, and transformation. And if you wanna experience it live for yourself, go ahead and click the link below, grab your spot, and I'll see you on the inside of the community. Can I have 2 volunteers? One right here, one right there. So the you 2 right here. Yes. Okay, can you guys come up here for a sec? Just so, okay. So, so basically what it is, is the exer— this is what this exercise does is it will help show you the difference between you absorbing energy or allowing yourself to express something more authentically. Okay. So if you were to, what is something that you believe strongly or that you're passionate about? And what you wanna do is you wanna express what this is.
Like the concept of oneness.
Okay. So go ahead and explain to her the concept of oneness and what—
Trying to make her have the same or just—
Have her have the same perspective of you. You want her to believe what you're believing. So you're persuading her, on this idea that you have.
Trying to manipulate her, like in a negative sense?
It's not trying to manipulate. You're going to feel— it could be. You're trying to feel the difference between having an agenda with sharing something to not having an agenda and having no attachment. I want you to feel the difference. So what's— it could be something else other than oneness. Is there anything that you believe And even if you're worried that other people in the crowd might not believe what you believe, what is something that you believe that you're like, huh, this is something that I actually believe strongly?
Hot take.
There's a hot take on something.
I believe very strongly that ETs will show up very soon and they are here not to save us, but are here to support us.
Okay.
So, and I know that's a hot topic for a lot of people.
It can be. Absolutely. So once you express that and just kind of go on a little, a little tangent with that and kind of express it, but you're expressing it to her. Of what you think, and you have like, you want her to think the same thing. You want her to agree with you, so you're trying to persuade her. This is the take.
Okay. Do you believe in aliens?
Should I be like combative?
You just, you can just respond. You just respond however.
Yes.
Yes. Okay. But what if she has the same? If she disagrees with me?
You're just expressing it. You're just— it's just your delivery. Okay, you're not really responding at all.
No, I hate aliens.
No, you're— so, so to make this simple and easier, here's what we're gonna do. You're just gonna listen. Yeah, you're just gonna listen. You're just gonna listen. You're just gonna express something. Yeah, I think alien— like, aliens are going to be here in the next couple years. This has been something that's been— whatever you think, right?
Right.
Okay, okay, so just go ahead on it like a minute, like a minute tangent of what that is.
Okay, so aliens are real. I, I love them. I feel like they are here as messengers of the light. Maybe not all of them, but I also think that what we focus on in that kind of subject, I think, determines kind of our view on it. And I choose to look at it from a very light and awareness perspective, that they are here to support us, not to save us, but to support us in awakening to more of our ancestral energies and whatever. And I think it's a very exciting time, and I can't wait for that to happen. I'm not quite sure how it will happen, and yeah, but I want it to happen. I would love for it to happen because I feel very cosmic. Yeah, like, I love that.
Connected to everything.
Yeah, I love that.
Okay, so on one hand, so that was one way of expressing it, right? You just listened, right? You didn't have to do anything, you just listened. Now, in a way, can you express that same thing again, but focus on feeling the separation instead of the energy going out? Instead of trying to get her on board, just focus to more of the presence inside of yourself. Maybe speak a little bit slower and really connect and just express like what's real for you. If she doesn't like it, it's okay. It's not something you need to manage. If anybody in the crowd doesn't like it, it's nothing for you to manage. And the thing is, is you're in a crowd of people and you're surrounded by people that think very similar things, right? So you might have, you might have a lot of people that agree with it, right? We're not trying to find combative energy. We're not trying to like find things to argue about at all. The only thing I'm trying, the intention for this exercise is, is to feel inside of your body where at times you might want someone to believe something you believe, and where then when you express it authentically with no agenda, what that feels like. And when you express it with more like almost like presence and stillness underneath it, right? So it's like, so now speaking from your heart is, can you explain what you believe and feel the separation between both of you? Feel like the space in between you. Doesn't mean you're not connected, we're all connected, but the space in between you is more of the focus so that it's not, you need to believe what I believe, it's, this is what I believe. I believe this, and it's like there's more of a present energy there without attachment to agenda. So what if you were to express that now from a place of presence, being in your heart, maybe speaking a bit slower, but focus on the separation and just the pure expression of it. No agenda.
Cool.
The first thing that comes to mind is that we are here on planet Earth and we have separation as an illusion. And even though we might be aware of the separation, I do believe that we are all very much connected. And I've had very beautiful experiences with energies that are external. And it feels that that is another level of oneness that we can tap into. We are one with each other here. We are one with Mother Nature.
Yeah.
And I also believe that we are one with the stars and beautiful other beings that have oneness as their truth.
Thank you. Yes. Let's give him a hand for that. Now, can you feel a difference?
A thousand percent.
Between the two expressions?
Yeah, like the second one was way more grounded. And although the first time, like, I could feel your excitement more, I could see how that would kind of like draw someone in and be like, oh, I want to be on that level of excitement. Whereas when the second time with the more just like grounded spaciousness, it was just like, okay, I can just tune in to what he's saying. And it was from a place of like the I statements of I feel, I am, I believe, as opposed to like, this is awesome, everybody should feel this. And like, yeah.
What I also wanna point out, that's a very, very good point there, is that that excitement to the right person can pull them in. That excitement to somebody that's kind of on the fence about that will probably repel them away. So the ability to be calm and regulated and present and not have the agenda, but just be sharing authentically actually becomes almost a greater magnet to more people to meet you in what your perspective is. So it's like that, the energy, whether it's not, this isn't about like, is this manipulative energy? Is this trying to control? But it's also about presence. So flipping it around right now, what is something that you believe that maybe is a hot take? And your job is to be just absorb. And at first you can be trying to prove, so it's almost like you're sending them the energy and you kind of want them to believe it.
Okay. Yeah.
And there's times where you might be in your spiritual awakening, for example, and you want other people to like, look at this meditation I learned, look at this thing. And that energy is excited energy that kind of goes out, that kind of has an agenda. Because if you believe what I believe, we're not alone, and now I can have friends, right? Now I'm not alone in this journey. So if you imagine something that you are passionate about, they have a hot take on, whatever it is, you can now just kind of go on a minute-long rant, kind of share whatever that is. What's something that maybe comes up for you in this moment with the agenda of getting him on board?
Yeah, I think that all schools should have somatic and like nervous system regulations for the kids because they really need it. And if we were to do that, it would help avoid retraumatization and help them avoid even being traumatized in the first place so that we don't have to do this level of deep healing as we get older. They're able to heal them as themselves as they go. So I really think we should push for getting those types of programs into every school all the way across America. Vote for Lexi.
Yeah.
Thank you for sharing. So once again, you're in a room where I'm sure a lot of people agree with you. But how did it feel to express that like that?
Yeah, like, I don't like forcing people into my beliefs, so it was like a little like edgy. Yeah.
But even certain words you use, like push.
Yeah. You know, like subconsciously to like be even more.
Yeah. So now on the other side, let's do the one where you speak from your heart and you share something with no agenda, what he believes or not. May or may not agree with you. There's no agenda whatsoever. It's okay to have different perspectives if there is. But how would you express it in that tonality? If you speak maybe more present, a little bit slower.
Yeah. Somatic nervous system healing is really important to me and has been life-changing for the way I'm able to experience the world and experience my body. And it's something that I wish that I had at a younger age. And so I'm really passionate about providing that to the children of the world as we integrate them into this crazy world that we're in and just allowing them that support that I didn't really have as a child and wishing the best for our next generation.
Yeah. Yeah.
Let's give it up for, for that. So How did that feel the first time versus the second? What was your experience of that?
Yeah, extremely different.
Yeah. What was the first one versus the second one difference, would you say?
The first one was like there was a focus on me.
Yeah.
Like I felt attention coming towards me versus the second one. It's just like her light is just beaming. Like, yeah, just her experience.
Yeah. What I liked about that too is in the expression of it, between both examples, one is this is the way reality is and this is what should happen. The other is a story. And people connect with stories. So you hear your story, you're like, I wish I had this when I was younger. This means a lot to me. If I had somatic practices when I was a kid, oh my, like it's something that people connect to stories. So what's interesting is The difference in the agenda and the attachment to outcome is like we allow ourselves when we're speaking from our heart and when we're allowing the other person to have their perspective either way, it's like there's not that same level of energy of trying to get something from. It's a much more freedom feeling and it's a much more connected feeling, isn't it? You guys both feel, I could feel, I'm here in the middle, I could feel more, a much more like present, strong, connected, like regulated nervous system energy. And the difference was going from the, like, this is the way it should be to this is how I feel. And then at the same time, allowing the other person to have their perspective. But the other thing I wanna point out, everyone that was just watching, is that there was this like a slowing down and a speaking from the heart. And I notice sometimes even in my own YouTube videos, I go back to certain videos on YouTube that do well or Instagram, and there's always a certain cadence I speak in with the videos that do well. It's a much more calm, present cadence. There's not an attachment to an agenda for those videos to get views. It's like the content that does the best is the content where I'm the most calm, regulated inside of myself. And it's when there's no attachment or agenda to like how people respond to it. But there's a strong energy around also my own felt experience. So it's like, this isn't the way the world should be. This is my experience and this is my story. And then other people say, that's my story too. So it's like you invite people in on a deeper, in a deeper way. So let's get it up for both of them. Thank you so much. Yeah, thank you, thank you. Awesome, appreciate it.
