You can go on a date or you can go out with people and ask, does this person like me? How does this other person feel? Are they disappointed in me? Or you can go on a date and you can ask, how do I feel around this person? Do we have shared values? And the thing is, is some of us have only been asking the one question because in childhood it wasn't safe to ask yourself. So then we're trying to figure it all out and we make it a rule and we play the game of I don't wanna disappoint people. But if we're trying to not disappoint people, we'll continue to attract situations because we're playing that game. You'll become free when you are not attached whether you disappoint someone or not.
