This ONE INVISIBLE FORCE Is In Control Of Your Life! (How To Master It)

Aaron Doughty argues that invisible patterns of thoughts and beliefs run your life until you become aware of them. He explains how trying too hard creates resistance, and why the difference between being interested in goals versus committed to them determines whether you find excuses or push through. Healing your inner child through meditation can release these entrenched patterns.

There's one force that unless we become aware of will control our life and keep us stuck thinking the same thoughts each day, feeling the same emotions each day, taking the same actions or lack of action each day. And until we become aware of it, that process or that energy will run us. So in this video, I'm gonna show you how to flip it around, how to start taking a new energy in your life that will change every different aspect of your life, whether it is relationships, whether that's abundance, career, whatever it is, it is a game changer. It's what changed my life, and I wanna show you exactly how to use it in this video. So with this and what this pattern is, it's about becoming aware of the familiar thoughts, beliefs, identities, and something called social conditioning. It's all about the familiar. This invisible force that within we live in, there's this trap that is set up that keeps us safe in what we know. And really what this gets down to as well is a deeper sense of craving control and certainty. And I wanna talk to you about how I'm becoming aware of this in my own life and also how you can start unrooting this so that you can finally start moving ahead in a very powerful way. Now, first off, let's understand that we get in life a reflection of who we are being. We get in life a reflection of who we are. We don't always get what we want because what we want, we automatically lack. And when we are being the identity, being the version of ourselves that is equal to the reality where we are living our dream life, in the dream relationship, in that of the the career or whatever it is, we'll notice that that version of ourself acts, feels, and thinks differently than the version of ourselves that has this familiar pattern construct that's there. And the thing that I've had to become aware of with this is recently, actually, I became aware of this because I, with my team, I'm getting ready to do my first ever live event. It's called the Shift Experience. I'm doing it here in Austin, Texas. I'm super excited about it. It's May 6th, 7th, and 8th. And it's something that I've been excited for for a long time. And at the same time, for like 2 years I've been wanting to do it, but since the world shut down and stuff like that, I had to like, you know, re-timeframe it and stuff like that. But at the same time, what I realized is that with my business in general, I have this pattern where I think I always have to be doing different things. I always have to be launching something. I always have to be doing some new activity, some new challenge. And really instantly I became aware that I actually had a coaching session with somebody that's, it's like this mastermind that I'm in. And he just asked me, he's like, I'm like, well, I have to, in this next month, I have to do something because I have like employees and stuff like that, you know? And he was like, why do you, do you like need to pitch something? Do you need to launch something or can you just chill? And I just thought about it for a minute and I'm like, well, 'Cause I know this big live event's coming, that all this other things are coming. But like what I realized in that moment is that I've had this familiar pattern of me always being in survival mode. Even when it was like I first was on YouTube daily and then I tried not going daily and I tried doing less content. It was so hard for me because there was such a survival mechanism there that said, you need to be this way. You need to work hard in order to be successful. And it's something that I had to become aware of in order to then change it. And until I was aware of it, that ruled me. And even this last month, it's like I did a challenge. I did this Own Your Vibe Challenge and it was powerful, but I'm like, why did I even, I didn't have to do that. Not that it wasn't great and I didn't enjoy it, but it was a lot of energy. And I'm like always in this mode of like grinding, survival, working. And I'm like, can I just take 2 or 3 weeks off to chill? But I've realized there's this familiar pattern I have with always having stuff to do, always being like last minute things. Let's get this done, let's get this done, this done, which drives my team nuts. But it's like this pattern, this familiar pattern that I'm kind of used to, this like energy of needing to do something and having a timeframe and having to crunch it all in. So let me ask you a question. Do you have like maybe patterns of procrastination and do you have to rush to get things done? Do you have patterns of perfectionism where things just have to be perfect so that kind of stops you from even taking action? Or self-sabotage? Sometimes we might find ourselves in a great situation, but then we find ourselves like falling back to the old identity or imposter syndrome where you start being a new version of yourself, but then you feel kind of fake. All 4 of those things are rooted in the familiar. They want to stay safe. They wanna stay in the familiar emotions. And until we become aware of these patterns within ourselves, we stay the same. We stay thinking, feeling, and acting similar to that. When I had my 9-to-5 job selling women's shoes, it was the same thing. I wanted to be on YouTube, but it felt kind of fake for me to be making videos. I also had a very high standard for I thought, oh, I've seen like Ralph Smart, other YouTubers make videos. And I'm like, they just talk in front of the camera like a talking head video like this. I was like, I can't just do that. I need to have some crazy editing. I'm not good enough just to make videos where I'm talking to a camera. But then I realized like I had to become aware of these beliefs and I had to start shifting them. But the familiar emotions, the familiar beliefs, the feeling, the familiar patterns are what keeps us in those stuck emotions. It's what keeps us in that stuck reality. And I became aware of that even when I had that 9 to 5 job selling women's shoes is I was like, I need to start being the identity of the version of Aaron that is like the full-time YouTuber. But subconsciously I got value, I got what's called a payoff from that of working that 9 to 5 job. The payoff was I got a paycheck every 2 weeks, I felt safe. And even though like I'm living paycheck to paycheck, it's like, it's predictable. And that kept me in that kind of like mentality until I became aware of it. So the power of what I'm sharing with you today is that you can become aware of the stories you have. You can become aware of the patterns that you have that are keeping you inside this dynamic. Now there's another thing I'll share real quick as well that's a little bit more esoteric, but within the world which we live in, there's something called the collective consciousness. Where we're all connected on the planet. Think of it like there's this grid of consciousness surrounding the planet and we're all connected to it. And this is why some people I think have like maybe similar inventions they come up with all around the world at like the same time, happens a lot. It's called like, there's also something called the 100th monkey effect where you'll get like monkeys on one island that will figure something out and then that will connect to the consciousness of monkeys on different islands. And it's like they'll figure the same thing out at the same time. It's because we're all connected and there's this consciousness. Now what happens is the way society is set up, and I don't mean to get too esoteric with this, maybe I do, maybe I'll just own the esoteric, is when we look out into the world and we see all the craziness that's happened in the world, there may be some type of intention that if people are kept within a certain bandwidth of fear, They're much easier to control. And one thing that is happening on the planet right now is more and more people are waking up. More and more people are realizing their true power and are starting to question their reality. They're starting to question their potential. They're realizing that they're capable of more, whatever that means, but also that they don't need to keep buying into the fear that maybe the media's producing. They don't need to buy into what they're being told. And they're starting to question things, which is a very positive thing. But there is this invisible force of people that want to be normal. They want to like fit in with what other people think about them. And part of that is because also this mentality that we have of connection, back in the day, it's a familiar pattern of like the tribe because back in the day when we were ostracized from the tribe, we died. If you lived to like live within wilderness and stuff like that, imagine you're in a tribe of safety, and then someone gets banished, when they get banished and they leave the tribe, they get eaten by wolves, they don't have the protection system set up, there's other tribes with other people that may attack them. Like normally that meant death. So now there's this thing in the world where people really care what other people think because they're afraid of rejection. But one of the things we can really begin to understand is that the more we value being bold, the more we value our own expression, the more we will show up in a powerful way in the world. And that's something that I had to break through before I even got on YouTube. And even now in some levels as I move into live events. And by the way, if you wanna join that live event, it's May 6th, 7th, and 8th. There's only 80 spots available live. And there's also a virtual ticket. You can click the link below, go to theshiftexperience.com. But anyways, for this process, it's really about becoming aware of what's familiar and understanding that there's also probably an identity there. So social conditioning, wanting to be normal or wanting the acceptance of other people is a natural drive that we might have. But the key is realizing that we can value our own self and our own authenticity over that of what other people think of us. But at the same time, Realize that we came here to be bold. We came here to express ourselves in a powerful way. We came here to make powerful change on the planet, to change ourselves and then change like what's happening. But it's changed through awareness. That's the interesting thing with this. There's this thing that I've been learning recently. I've talked about in a couple videos, but I'll share it again 'cause I think it also applies to this video. And it is called the Backwards Law by Alan Waltz. Waltz, Watts. The backwards law states that the more you try, the more you resist. The more you chase, the more that thing runs away from you. The more you control, the more out of control you feel. Because the more we try to change anything, the more we are reaffirming that we're not good where we are. So sometimes as well, it's like the familiar patterns that I'm talking about here, it's like we want to get out of the familiar patterns, but we feel stuck. And that's because we're trying to change and that trying to change is implying that we're not good. A change is implying that there's some shame, there's something wrong with us. So one powerful thing that I've learned is that this is more so about vibrational resonance and the way that I can embody the emotions, the energy, and the actions of that ideal version of me right now, not to wait. A powerful way to do this is to feel gratitude. That's one way, feel gratitude, focus on what's already going well in your life, but also to recognize that that familiar pattern that's trying to suck you back into the old ways of being is a safety mechanism that many times was set into place from childhood. Because as kids, something may have happened. Maybe we got some type of pain, or something, and then we decide to do, this isn't safe. And normally when it comes to certainty freaks, I'm one of those recovering certainty freaks where it's like you wanna control things, you want things to happen a certain way. One of the things with these certainty freaks is that back in childhood, normally what happened is maybe at some level, some level of trust was broken between you and a family member. Maybe the trust was broken with yourself or with the universe. And now there's a belief there that says, I must control. But remember the backwards law, the more you try to control, the more out of control you actually will feel. So control and becoming aware of these patterns, trying, and the more you try, the more resistance is created, the more you block, the more you chase someone, the more they feel that energy and the more they just naturally as a byproduct of that energy, responds differently. It's all about energy. And the key to getting out of the familiar patterns is the awareness of being in the familiar patterns and then making the new choice about who you are, making the new choice about how you prefer to show up in the world and really committing to it. Recently, I had Jon Aceroth on my channel and he had this saying that I know he shared in other interviews and stuff before, but he, He says one of the most profound questions he was ever asked was, he was asked by a mentor of his when he was looking at his goals and stuff like that, his mentor said, "Hey, John, with these goals, are you interested in achieving them or committed to achieving them?" And John said, "What's the difference?" And then he said something along the lines of, "Well, if you're interested in them, you'll make excuses, things will happen, and you'll find reasons that, you know, to justify, pacify where you are." The moment any kind of resistance shows up, you might just leave it. But if you're committed, you'll find a way even if resistance comes up. You will wire that in every single day. If you're committed to your vision versus interested, they're very different energies. And really what that is is that's a choice to then embody that version of you, knowing that the outer reality only changes once the internal reality makes a shift. So in my own life, when I look at everything that's been created in my life, it's happened because I made a choice about who I am at a certain moment. Even back in 2012, when I went through my awakening, I then went from like this ego structure of wanting, like of working that 9 to 5 job that I didn't enjoy and feeling really weighed down by like labels of ADHD and all of these, the pain of my past and stuff, to then redefining myself and reframing my past, letting go of the anger that I had towards my ex-stepmom and stuff, letting go of the label of ADHD, and I started to see myself more as a spiritual being. So I went from like this ego identity to being more of a spiritual being. But then what happened later on is I had to let go of the spiritual beingness 'cause sometimes then what happens, you create a spiritual ego where it's like, I am highly evolved and all these people people are asleep and they don't understand me and stuff like that. So what I had to do is I had to become aware of these patterns in myself and then eventually even let go of that. So life is really a level, is really a journey of awareness of patterns, of awareness of beliefs, awareness of identity, awareness of when you care what other people think, awareness of the procrastination, the perfectionism, the self-sabotage, the imposter syndrome, becoming aware of it and then choosing what is most in alignment with you and then wiring that in every single day and knowing that magic happens in the unknown. Magic never happens in the known. The thing is certainty freaks will find themselves, or people that really value certainty over everything, that really wanna control things, realize the control response was something that was created outta childhood to stay safe. It wasn't safe in childhood. Something happened and we decided this, I need to control. I need to figure this out. I need to have certainty. I need to know. But then we sucked the magic right outta life. And I know this is challenging. I do this in many ways. I do this, I realize that I had my ex-stepmom in my life from 7 to 15 years old, controlling, manipulative, didn't have much freedom. After my dad divorced her when I was 15, I would either attract ex-girlfriends or managers into my life that would reflect back that same control dynamic 'cause I used to have a belief that women are trying to control me and I have to fight for my freedom. And that was always in my life until I became aware of it. But what we wanna do is we wanna become aware of the pattern and then recognize it and then make a new choice about who we are to the meaning we give to these things so that we can begin to embody this new aspect of ourself. And until we become aware of this invisible force, our life will be continuing to run by all of these other things. Inside of us. Now, when we talk about the inner child, it really has to do with healing the inner child. There's a meditation that I have that's completely free. It's on healing the inner child. And we go to Kauai, Hawaii, and we bring forth our inner child and go through this whole ritual. It's like a 30, 40-minute meditation, one of the most powerful meditations I've ever made. You can go down to the link below and download that meditation for free to check it out. But realize the more you heal your inner child, the more you let go of the familiar patterns, the more you will become free. And that's really the key to you being this new version of you. So with that being said, there is a video I have on how to let go of this control, how to actually surrender, how to let go in a very powerful way. It's one of my most powerful letting go videos. Watch this video and watch how it changes your perception of it and helps you even deeper with everything we're talking about. Letting go is actually very easy when we allow it to be easy. Letting go is only hard because we believe that one, it has to be hard, but the main
