this video will SHIFT you into a NEW YOU NOW

A speaker shares how he left a sales job in 2017 by writing four statements about the person he wanted to become, then affirming them daily in present tense. He credits the shift to self-image driving behavior, adopting core values like integrity and authenticity, and making one small action daily until it rewired his identity.
Chapters
Back in 2017, before I was on YouTube, when I was working my 9 to 5 job, when I was living at my dad's house, I remember I would meditate every morning and I had this candle that I would do this technique with where I'd observe my thoughts and just stare at the candle flame. But then I had this paper that had on it the things that I wanted to create in my life. And what I would do is I would say it in the present tense. And I remember how I could feel the energetic difference between what reality was to what I wanted. I remember thinking and feeling to myself, I have 100,000 YouTube subscribers. That was one of them. I am so grateful now that I have 100,000 YouTube subscribers. And there was this feeling of inadequacy. There was this feeling like it's fake. Why would I even say that? It's obviously not true. And there was this feeling of imposter syndrome that came along with that. At the same time, there was the thing that shifted it all for me was I remember there was this one piece of paper that I have been trying to find inside of my iPad, 'cause I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in my iPad. It was actually a photo that I took of this piece of paper that I wrote a couple notes down on, but it was just 4 simple statements, 4 simple things that came from something I learned. That I began to apply and completely changed everything. And even though it was this whole fake it till you make it, it was this understanding that it has to do with just knowing that we get in life the direct reflection of who we are being. But there was a missing key that was the block for me that I had to eventually embody. Now, first off, what was that piece of paper? What did it say on that paper? Now, what it said is it talked about knowing, believing, and behaving as if you are the version of you that you prefer to be, even though the reflection on the outside doesn't reflect that back yet. Being it because it's who you choose to be. And it sounds very simple, but there was a couple missing components that I literally woke up this morning thinking about. And I went to bed last night feeling so much gratitude for just me visualizing what I want to create in my life. And it's not just what I want to create in my life, because if we look at creating in life, that's also like do mentality. It's like I need to do something. Now, I'm not saying that it's like you sit there and you meditate and you just like think about what you want and it just magically appears. There's a higher degree to this though. It's not about just having, doing, but it's about being. Understanding that you get a reflection of who you are being. So in 2017, there was a moment where I decided from this moment going forward, I'm going to be a full-time YouTuber even though I have no reflection of that in my life, even though I've only made one YouTube video or two or three YouTube videos maybe at the time. I think I had three videos made and then I said, I'm gonna make a video every single day no matter what because this is who I choose to be. And I committed. It was one thing I really want to point out. I committed that version of me because sometimes people will start to be a new version of themselves and then their friends and their family and say, what the hell are you doing? Go back to who you're, who we know you as. And you say, oh, I'm sorry, I'll go back to the way you're used to me. But it's important to remember that also in every moment you are who you choose to be. Think about it. Celebrity, anyone that's accomplished a lot of stuff, at a certain point they viewed themselves in a certain limiting self. They may have viewed themselves as a 9-to-5 job goer. They may have viewed themselves as someone with lots of limitations, but at a certain moment they decided, this is who I am. This is what I'm about. This is what I'm committing to. And it's like there's no other options. Like that's who they are now. And then they, They just made the choice to be it. They gave themselves permission to be it. Now I wanna point this out to you as well and what that missing key was and then talk a little bit about some parallel reality understandings that will sound kind of esoteric, but it's very powerful for wiring in this new you. Okay, so first off, when it comes to this, understand the values. Like I remember doing this at a Tony Robbins seminar actually. One thing that we did was we were doing this, like it was Date with Destiny, it was back in 2019. And I remember there was this thing where you kind of like come up with an identity for this old you and then you'd like, you would do this dance and then you would get into the old pattern. And then what happened is then you would shift out of it and shift into the new pattern. And it was like a way of shifting out of your old identity into your new identity. If you look at the work of Joe Dispenza, Similar. Old familiar self, new version of you. It's like your, your old self, familiar self, transcending that and stepping into the unknown, stepping into this new version of you. Very similar. You talk about the book Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, which is all about the inner self-image. He was a plastic surgeon who literally became fascinated with how when people had a certain self-image, they would do anything they can to stay consistent to that. And if they thought something about themselves, even if they changed their facial structure, they would still feel the same way because he realized there's this inner self-image that everyone has that everyone's fighting to be in alignment with. And when I learned that back in 2012, was when I learned, when I read that book. I realized that my own self-image was I'm a mediocre sales employee working at Barney, at Nordstrom's in women's shoes. And then I realized that that was my identity. That was, I was thinking, feeling, and acting equal to that version of myself. I started to view myself as a, I started to be literally a top salesperson. And within days, I was consistently at the top of the sales list from the day before because it was a sales commission job. Interestingly enough, you can apply that towards anything. So when people are like, I'm gonna feel gratitude for the house, like I wanna focus on the house that I want or the money that I want, and they focus on the have, remember this is the lowest. We talk about vibration, we talk about levels of being. The highest level is being. You get in life who you are being. Cut themselves short when they just focus on what they want to have or what they want to do. If you can focus now for the ways you can choose to be right now, these come anyways. Like, the more I was living in integrity, the more I was living in vulnerability and authenticity, and the more I was following my purpose from this level of like— also, we could add purpose to this. What is your purpose? Is there a higher vision that you have? So for me, I realized the old version of me, who I was being in that 9 to 5 job, let's look at it. What did I have at the time? I lived at my dad's house. I didn't even have my own house. I had a room at my dad's house where it was like a little like library, like big thick bookshelves and a little twin-sized bed in the corner. And that's where I lived. And I went to a 9-to-5 job that I had that I did not enjoy, selling women's shoes, working at Barney's New York, being told what to do by managers, going to work because it felt safe, familiar. I've had no more ever than $3,000 in the bank. I remember one time I had a friend that I was like, every now and then we would buy— people would use our discount. We got like 35% off. So I'd like use my discount and get like friends from other stores and stuff discounts on stuff, and then they would do it for us. I don't think we're supposed to do that, but we did it. And I remember one time he put money in my account and it like doubled it somehow. Like it was a mistake in the bank, and I thought all of a sudden I had like $3,500 in my bank account. That was more than I ever saw in my bank account. Up until I left my 9-to-5 job and started doing what I love. Literally, I just had this self-image where like money was not something that I knew how to store. It's not something I knew how to like keep. Myself, I just always lived paycheck to paycheck until I switched my identity, until I switched who I was being. I also had no time. I remember working that 9-to-5 job, literally I'd work 5 days a week and on my off days, I would be doing laundry and like I would just be getting ready for the next 2 days and it was like this hamster wheel. That's what I had. What was I doing? I was going to a 9 to 5 job. I was being told what to do. I had this familiar energy pattern. I was thinking, feeling, and acting equal to that version of me. And who was I being? I was being somebody that valued safety. I was being somebody that valued the familiar. And then also that was a version of me was like one that felt validated having a 9 to 5 job and was afraid of being this version of me because I thought maybe that meant no, like there would be like, there was a part of me that valued validation and I was afraid of what other people would think. So it kind of kept me trapped in this old mentality. Now I will say this too, a lot of times this old identity, it's values we were given, it's values that we learned growing up, but they're not values that we actually chose. So when people say, and they're looking at what they're creating in their life, understand that if you, it's not just about focusing on these, these are the reflections of this. This version of me too did not have the mentality and the work ethic the self-motivation to be this version of me. Now it did have it, I just hadn't activated it yet. All of these things I'm talking about in these videos are things you can activate inside of yourself. So what I eventually did is I activated and realized at this 9 to 5 job, someone else tells me what to do. And this version of me of being this full-time YouTuber and this dream life like identity, I have to be the one to have my own willpower. No one's gonna motivate me to make videos every day. No one's gonna be on my ass about it. So I committed to the daily videos and this was a brand new version of me. And this is what I'm applying to my life even now, where I'm realizing I can shift. So know, behave, and be the version of you that you choose to be. It's very simple, but it's like we make it more complicated 'cause we have such a story of how we used to be, of the values we were given. These feel very familiar, but nonetheless, let's look at where I'm at now. Not to brag or anything, I'm just showing you the contrast here. Now, this is all, by the way, natural for me. This was natural for this identity. This wasn't something that was on a pedestal. I was like, oh my God, this'd be so awesome. By the time I've now have houses and money and time, It's natural for me. It's a natural part of my self-image for me to have money in the bank. It is a natural part of my self-image. And now let me also say this, from this level of perspective, money was kind of viewed as like this negative thing for a while because that is all spiritual and stuff. And there's like these spiritual belief systems. Money now I see as a resource. I do not have a negative relationship with money. And money I see as something that comes as a reflection of the value I put out into the world. So this version of me, it is natural to have money in abundance. It is natural for me to have different houses. I have houses in different places where I go where I want to go when I want to go there. I travel. I'm not saying this to brag. I'm just saying like this is the difference as a reflection of what I'm about to share with you. Now, what do I do now? I make YouTube videos. I have more of an energy of stepping into the unknown. I've activated a level of willpower inside of myself where I am self-sufficient. I'd say I'm gonna do something and I do it. I remember after 2 or 3 weeks of making videos on YouTube when I was shifting from this to this, I realized that I had good willpower. It was like I believed I didn't. I made videos every day and people would say, how do you do this? And I'd say, I don't even know. This is just who I am. And then I realized if there's something I wanna put my mind to, I put my mind to it and I just do it. I have good willpower. So through putting in reps, I then started to see myself differently. Now what else do I do? I'm self-motivated. I get to travel for a living. I love travel. I love new experiences. And this is then all a reflection of this. I've chosen to live by integrity. I even got it tattooed somewhere. Where is it? Is it on this side? Yeah, integrity. Integrity. It's a value I choose to live by. Part of integrity is me living in alignment with my purpose. It is part of me being vulnerable as well. This part of me wanted validation and approval. This one's more lives by vulnerabilities, afraid to show the parts of myself that sometimes people would be afraid to share. And I do that also because It feels authentic. I know some people that are YouTubers, or not calling anyone out, I'm just saying like, no, some people that would come onto YouTube, what they might do is they might want to be positioned as like the guru on top of the mountain. And what I realized early on is I want to be, I want to be vulnerable. I want to share these parts of myself because I think it could really resonate with people and help people. Now, authenticity. Choose to live by the value of authenticity, this value of allowing spirit to flow through me to add value to other people. So you get, imagine you're wearing different glasses and imagine there's the glasses of this ideal version of you that's doing what you love, that follows your passion. Also another value of this, I'm bringing even more into my life. I was reading about this recently actually, 'cause I was looking at numerology again. I find it fascinating. But one of it, one of my soul urge number numerology is 3. And 3 is like all about fun. It's entertaining, it's witty, it's playful. It's kind of like a childlike energy. It's the heart's desire, the soul urge. But basically what I'm realizing is sometimes it becomes so serious for me to accomplish all these things that I don't have as much fun. So I'm realizing now I wanna bring that element into the way I am being. I can give myself permission to be it. And what you do is when you look at these different values, values are these virtues you choose to live by, you can feel gratitude for living by these values right now by choosing whatever your values are. So instead of focusing, this is where people get tripped up, they're focusing on the law of attraction and what they want to create of all of these things, but this all comes, the money, the houses, the time, what you do, the YouTube videos or whatever you're passionate about, comes as a result of you focusing on the gratitude for your own identity of who you choose to be. Who are you being? Now you can choose your identity to understand that you, through which the lens you see reality is what you get reflected back. So who are you being? At a moment, I decided I'm going to be a full-time YouTuber. I committed to that version of me and eventually reality began to change. Now, another thing I'll point to is if you're looking to wire in these qualities and you look to your past timeline, you look to your past, this can happen sometimes where you're like, you look to your past And maybe you're like, well, I've always liked being told what to do. I've always found safety in being told what to do. So you look at your timeline, let's say this is right now. Now what happens is you're like, yeah, I've always liked being told what to do, even though I don't, maybe you're like, I don't like being told what to do, but I've always found safety in someone else telling me what to do. And then you look to your past, you can see, oh yeah, that one time the teacher said this thing, I felt shame, and then I decided this is who I am, it's better to stay within the box. And then you have this other thing where maybe something happened with a girlfriend or a boyfriend or something like that, and you realize that playing small or staying in that box was safe. Now what happens is in the present moment, when you focus on that energy, it is easier for you to remember past experiences where those values were activated. It's literally like when you are being this version of you, of valuing safety, familiarity, validation, or whatever else it is, it's literally easier for you to remember other times in the past where that was the case because the way the neuronal connection in the brain works, the neurosynaptic connections in the brain work, is paths that fire and wire together. It's like it's able to find other times where that was the case. However, if you start feeling the gratitude for the things that you prefer, the values you prefer to bring on, and you use your imagination to really connect to your past, like not just your imagination, but like you're— you get to like a subconscious state of relaxation. You will remember other times where these were activated, where you could be like, oh yeah, I remember this time this one thing happened I didn't agree with. I live in integrity, this level of integrity. And what I did is this one time over here with my past, something wasn't right at this job that I had. For example, maybe something happened at a job that you had and you said something about it or you told someone no, or you wouldn't like agree to do something. And you're like, wait, I do live in integrity. You know, I used to think I didn't have strong willpower. You know what? There was that one time I was in that debate tournament and I really committed to learning as much as I could about this topic. And I ended up getting First place. This one time I got first place in this debate tournament. And I remember, you know, you use like the ceremonial thing and I'm on stage and everyone's cheering and stuff and I got first place in Lincoln-Douglas debate. Oh yeah, I can commit myself to something and do something. You look at authenticity or fun. There are many times in my past where I can see if I'm in a serious mindset, I'll be more easily able to remember every other times when things were very serious. I'm having fun and I look to my past, I can remember other past times when the focus was having fun. So basically what you can do is you can use these lens of reality of integrity, vulnerability, authenticity, fun, whatever your values are, and you can literally remember times in your past that reaffirmed that. Now here's the thing, you are who you choose to be right now. You are who you choose to be right now. And in this moment right now, there are different past versions of you And what I mean by this is there are different moments in your past where certain of these were activated and even the new version, the new values were activated. By focusing and feeling the gratitude for living as this version of you now, you will begin to change your energy field. So I'm feeling gratitude now for the things I wanna create in my life, for me being, feel the gratitude for the fun in my life, the ability to go out and have fun, the ability to go out and to do things just for fun, whether that's me going on the boat on the lake or me traveling and going to some beautiful place and eating at beautiful restaurants, me having fun with friends, me stepping out of my comfort zone to like go do activities I haven't done. I can imagine that version of me and make the choice to do it and be it, and I will be activating this energy. And you can do the same thing. So when we talk about shifting into a new you, Understand that every moment you're a new you. You make a new choice about who you are.
