Ultimate Guide to Letting Go of Outcome, Relationships, and Emotions

In this instructional video, Aaron Doughty presents a comprehensive framework for releasing attachments to people, desired outcomes, and negative emotions. He argues that such attachments stem from our identity and self‑image, and that the power we grant to what we resist reinforces those bonds. The core process involves (1) recognizing the emotional charge, (2) observing feelings without judgment or labeling, (3) seeing oneself as already whole and complete, and (4) trusting the unfolding process while taking action from a place of inner wholeness. Aaron applies this method to three specific domains: letting go of relationships by shifting focus away from the other person, releasing rigid outcome blueprints by embracing flexibility and trust, and dissolving addiction to negative emotions through neutral observation. He references the "Power vs. Force" consciousness scale, urging movement from lower emotions (shame, fear, guilt) toward willingness and neutrality, which then allows love and positive states to emerge. The video concludes with practical suggestions—changing environments, engaging with new people, and acting from the cause rather than the effect—to create space for new opportunities and personal transformation.

Welcome back to another video. My name is Aaron and I help people expand their consciousness. Now in this video, I'll be sharing with you how to really let go, and this is really like my ultimate video for letting go of either relationships that don't serve of the outcome of things that we want to happen, or even negative emotions that we don't prefer to feel. Now, the way I want to explain this is different than maybe you've heard before, but I, the way I look at letting go is it has to do with our identity and our self-image for the way that we see ourselves. It also has to do with the power that we're giving to whatever we're resistant to let go of. So for example, Say we need to let go of a certain relationship. Maybe it's a significant other and it's not working out and we realize that it's hard to let go. If we are giving too much power over to the other person and to that importance in our life, what'll happen is, is that becomes a part of who we are and any amount of letting go of that is scary. Now let's relate that to Maybe addictive feelings, maybe feeling a certain way. A lot of times subconsciously we'll have a certain self-image, we'll be attached to certain ideologies that make us feel a certain way and will subconsciously be afraid to let those go. That comes from an attachment to those perspectives. And in this video I'm going to show you how to let those go. Now maybe it's just simply being to attach to the outcome of the way something should happen. It means that we have a certain blueprint for how we think things need to happen, and because we're attached to that, when things happen that aren't in alignment with it, we end up resisting the process. We end up feeling more resistance, which then creates more of those kinds of experiences. So in this video, I'm going to show you how to let go of all of those things and how when you let go of them, what you end up doing is opening up new opportunities, you allow yourself to create more space in your life and how that really creates just about everything and really, really it's necessary in order to get what you want in life, to become who you want to be. Now the process for letting go has to do with simply taking the emotional charge out of whatever those things are and then deciding that we are going to be a new way and from that point of view letting go and starting to trust the process. Now, any of these 3 things that I just explained, a real fear comes in because we are identified with it and we haven't decided to trust the process. Now let's look at how we can do that for each individual one. Now say it's a relationship and it's a specific person that our intention is to let go of. The idea is to change the focus from always thinking about that person and thinking that that person equals the key to our happiness. Now, this may mean that we start to focus on other perspectives, might mean that we get away from being around that person so much, or we start to get in new environments that don't constantly give us triggers for remembering and thinking about that person. Now, this means that one of the key things that's important is starting to look at ourselves as already whole and complete. Now, what this does is it takes out the necessity to have someone else that needs to be there and it allows us to generate the state from within. Now the next part of this is to simply trust in yourself, trust in your life experience, trust that things will happen when they're meant to happen. And as you trust in the moment right now, it takes away from the power, it takes away from the energy of that having power over us and thinking that we actually need it. Now then what you can do is start to see yourself in that way. And start to take action from that. Might mean that you start to hang out with other people that you haven't hung out with in a while that take you out of the realm of always thinking about her or him or whoever it is. And what you then begin to do is to exist more at the cause rather than the effect. Now that will help you to let go. That will allow you to process the emotions. We don't want to suppress it. We want to feel it. Feel it, but the way we take the emotional charge out of it is we simply observe the feelings without judging them, without labeling them. And as we begin to do that, it begins to distance ourselves from always feeling that way. Understand that the way our emotions are developed are through our beliefs. If we believe that someone else equals our happiness, we will feel negative emotion. When they're not acting in accordance with how we think they should act or giving us that kind of love. So generate the feeling from within. See yourself as already whole and complete and simply trust the process. Now, how can we apply this towards the outcome of the things that we want to experience? Well, if we have a certain blueprint for how things must happen, understand that that in a way can be a limitation. Now of course action is a very important component to the process, but understand that when you have certain rules for how things should happen, a lot of times that builds up resistance, that builds up an attachment. And remember that we must let go of our attachment by viewing ourselves as already whole and complete. So if you are attached to making a certain kind of money, you can take the action, you can have an outcome for something that you want. but how that happens and the blueprint that you have for it. If it happens in another way, don't be afraid that everything is off course. Let go of the outcome and once again, trust the process. If something happens that seems like it's a wrench in the gears or it seems like things are going in a different direction, simply realize you can take the emotional charge out of it by observing those thoughts, by observing what is happening and then simply deciding you're going to focus on trusting the process. You can still take action, but trust that things will happen the way they're supposed to happen. And remember, once again, the meaning and the importance that we give things affects the kind of results that we get. So if something happens and we say this means that things aren't going to happen now, this means it's going to be diverted and it's going to be a lot of struggle and pain. That will be the effect we get out of it. But all we simply have to do is observe it, decide we are going to shift our focus. We're going to see ourselves as already whole and complete and take action from that non-resistant place. Now the other one that I have is releasing the addiction that we might have to negative emotions. Now in order to do this, and this is really the basis of everything I've shared, it's about simply observing the emotions that we feel. Not labeling them, not judging them, not resisting them. We don't want to suppress them. Simply observing them from a neutral place, neither as being good or bad. As we do that, we start to see it for what it is, and we can then allow ourselves to trust the process and to know that we are moving through them and we are letting go of those negative states of being. Now, I've showed this chart before, but it's by a book called Power Versus Force, but it's the different levels of consciousness. And understand that anytime we are attached to a certain perspective that's within maybe these lower emotions of shame, fear, guilt, feeling any of these lower emotions, that perspective will perpetuate similar feelings, similar hormones, similar body language that will keep on keeping that emotion alive. What we must do is observe those thoughts in each individual category. We must observe any shameful thoughts we have. Any type of anger that we feel. As we observe it, we move up to what is called willingness. Willingness and neutrality. That alone will help us shed those negative emotions and to really let go of them. Now remember, the key is to feel it, to let it be there, and in that allowance you will let go of those negative emotions. You will become more neutral, and then you can imply the feeling of love, of feeling connected, and feeling all the positive emotions. So this process and this video, I believe, can really help you let go of the attachment that you have with your identity to those individual things, realizing that the real power exists within, and that as you let go of the outcome, as you let go of a specific person, what you allow yourself to do is to trust the process. That is the most powerful thing that I can share with this. It's really transformed my life and my intention is that it can possibly help you as well. So with that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Feel free to like this video if you liked it. Subscribe if you haven't already. And as always, I will see you guys on the next video. Peace, much love. Namaste. All right, bye.
