You can become Extremely Magnetic if you Try Less…here’s why

Aaron Doughty argues that trying hard to be magnetic actually repels people because it creates resistance. True magnetism comes from non-attachment and accepting yourself regardless of others' approval. He traces this pattern to childhood conditioning and offers the mantra "I'm good either way" to shift from needing validation to simply being.

The funny thing is that the more someone tries to be magnetic, the less magnetic they are. The more someone is unattached to being magnetic, the more they are authentically themselves, the less they are trying, the less resistance there is, and as a result, the more magnetic they are. The more people will respect them, the more validation and approval they will get, However, they won't need it. Think about that. Isn't that interesting that the less you want, the more you get, the more you are in the vibration of being and not the vibration of being to get, but the more you are just being yourself, the more respect there is and the more people are magnetized to your energy. So more powerful than saying, what do I need to do to be magnetic? How do I be magnetic? Is what if I didn't try to be magnetic at all? What if being magnetic was not even on my radar? What if I didn't even desire to be magnetic? Now, this is the question you wanna ask yourself is why do I even want to be magnetic to begin with? It's a powerful question to ask because what you'll find is most people that want to be magnetic is because of what it will get them. It's because if I am magnetic, people will be attracted to me. If I am magnetic to new synchronicities and new opportunities, I will get more of what I want. I will get more opportunities, more abundance. I'll get more approval and connection from other people. So how do I be magnetic in order to get? And think about this when it comes to freedom. What if the true degree of freedom is when you don't care to be magnetic at all? Because ultimately being magnetic is a manipulative tactic and tool to get the needs met. So it's almost like, think about it as a quote that I've said on Instagram before, comes from an Alfred Adlerian psychology point of view, which is freedom is the ability to be disliked. This is similar. Freedom is the ability to be disliked. If you can let yourself be disliked, that's freedom. Freedom is not getting everyone's approval and validation. It's even if that approval and validation is not there, you still feel okay. In fact, you like you, so you don't need anything from anyone else. And because ironically enough, you don't need someone's approval and validation, you'll find that they will give it to you because you don't need it. It's a paradox. So there's this paradox of being magnetic here where the less you try to be magnetic, the more magnetic you'll be. The more you try to be magnetic, the more you will repel people and the more you will change your own frame of reality to make other people happy. So this is the question that is way more powerful than how do I be magnetic And you have to ask yourself, why do I wanna be magnetic? Is it because then my needs are met? Then more people approve of or like me. I get more opportunities and more synchronicities. And ultimately it's a way of controlling reality. The more I control reality, the more safe I can feel, the more validated I can feel. When in fact there's a whole new reality of the unknown that can bring you even more magic than you can begin to imagine. But it requires a letting go of the known, the familiar, and of trying to get your needs met through being magnetic. 'Cause being magnetic to your desires also infuses a reality that says this thing is not in my life now. Imposes a belief that says this person has what I need. The external reality must contort itself to meet my needs. This person has my approval. But the funny thing is, if you approve of yourself, you don't need their approval. But a lot of times you will end up getting it anyways, but you won't even care. It's a very interesting way to look at it. So the degree to which you are magnetic is the degree to which You don't care if you're magnetic. Now, what caring means is— what I mean by that is attached. You're not attached. You're not trying to control the outcome. And just as you know, in the universe there are different energy dynamics, and if you have this energy of trying to be magnetic, there is an energy of resistance that's going into it. If you were to chase a dog, the dog will play along with you and run away. It's playing off of your energy dynamic. And when people are trying to get— have you ever had that happen where someone's trying to— I used to work with this lady back when I used to sell women's shoes who would sometimes fish for compliments. And everyone knew that. Everyone was like, oh, she's fishing for a compliment. But she was like, you notice anything I'm wearing? Or like, it's this energy. That if you can feel like someone wants something from you, you naturally feel repelled. Sometimes you might, I might go into, which is funny because I used to work in sales, so I used to sell women's shoes and people would come into the department, but sometimes I'll go shopping and you can feel when someone's kind of like, you can feel when someone's just authentically engaging with you and they don't want anything from you. They're just, is kind of doing their job and in a certain energy. And you can tell when someone wants something from you. Hey, can I help you? And what you'll find is that energy becomes very repellent. It's like, no, I'm good, thank you. And then you end up naturally feeling repelled from it. Well, energy dynamics are very similar to that. You will find that a lot of times in certain energy dynamics, there might be this like push-pull relationship. And when one person's pushing, one's like, it's this dynamic. Sometimes you could also say that maybe that's not the healthy secure attachment style dynamic. However, people will go back and forth with who's chasing and who's like running away. Sometimes it'll flip back and forth. And then when someone attaches, when someone detaches, and it's kind of like that's the energy dynamic that maybe is familiarized and that's why it's in someone's life. It's kind of like to replace some of their childhood dynamics until someone says, I'm done with this. But nonetheless, it's important to understand that these are specific patterns and there may be a pattern with trying to be magnetic. There may be a pattern with wondering who do I need to be to get people to like me? And when you become aware of that deeper desire, you then realize that there are ways you can feel more connection in your life because ultimately, When people desire approval and validation from other people, what they really desire deep down is connection, but they're willing to let go of connection because validation and approval became the means to connect when they were a kid. So if you had, when you were a kid, parents that were very hard to please, had very high standards, high expectation, you may find that you put that expectation on yourself. And you put that resistance on yourself, but also you may say, okay, connection isn't in the cards, but what about validation and approval? Because love is conditional. When I am getting an A, I get approved of from mom and dad. When I am doing what they want, when I am seen and not heard, I get approval, I get validation. And then what happens is we may go through life bypassing connection but settling for approval and validation, trying to get it from other people. And then we say things like, how do I be more magnetic? I want to be a magnet to my desires. I want to be a magnet to more love and abundance. I want to be a magnet. But the only reason you want to be a magnet is because the idea of being magnetic is attractive because it's like, oh, I'm gonna get my needs met, I'm gonna get my needs met, I'm gonna get my needs met. But understand that the thing you believe is true is not actually true. Like, you think that validation approval is gonna make you happy, but it's not. It is superficial. It's just a belief. It's almost like— listen to this. Have you had it where somebody does approve of and likes you and gives you the validation, but you don't want it. You say, well, this person's not the attractive thing I'm looking for. Or, but a lot of times people that are craving being magnetic, they may completely bypass people that do validate, approve of them, and they say, no, no, no, no, I want approval and validation from this person over here who doesn't want to give it to me. I need to turn them into my fan. I need to turn them into being somebody that wants my attention and gives me attention validation. Do you see that? Because secretly I'm trying to turn mom and dad into being somebody that validates and approves of me. And they're playing that similar dynamic, but this other person over here who's naturally giving it to me, ugh, not even interested. So you say you want it, but you only want it from people that aren't giving it to you. And you only want it because there's a being afraid of being in the unknown. You're afraid of how good things could really get. But remember, a better question to ask is, what if I was not attached to being magnetic at all? I didn't care about being a magnet to my desires. I didn't care about being a magnet to other people. And what if I completely let go of that and realize that that's rooted in some childhood need to control reality and that there's a deeper connection I connect to inside of myself and that as I connect to this deeper energy inside of myself, I don't need those things, but as a result, they come. But this is where it gets tricky because then people say, okay, Aaron, I'm gonna not be magnetic and then I'm gonna get what I want. But that is conditioned. That is a means to an end. The key is being yourself, and magnetic is a quality that comes the more detached you are from what other people think, the more detached you are from things happening in a specific way, the more you can be at flow and in surrender, the more attractive you are. There is an energy that comes from being non-attached. That is magnetic, but you can't be doing it to be magnetic because then you're attached. You see that? I'm attached to being non-attached. Okay, that's not, that's not the key. The key is letting go and trusting in the divine, letting go and trusting in the unknown, surrendering to something greater than yourself. So what if the degree to which you can let go, the degree to which you aren't attached, the degree to which you question The initial belief, which is I wanna be magnetic, I wanna be a magnet to my desires. Not one person, by the way, think of the most magnetic person you know, either a person in real life or a celebrity of someone that you think is extremely magnetic. Imagine that person. Do you think that that person is sitting at home going, I am magnetic, I am magnetic, I am magnetic, I am magnetic, I'm a magnet to my desires. Everything comes to me effortlessly and flows to me in great proportions. I am so magnetic. Do you think they say that? No, they don't. They're not trying to do anything. They're not trying to be magnetic. They're just embracing themselves. So the energy here, there's a different vibration when we talk about trying to a vibration of being, and someone that's trying to be magnetic is infusing resistance and is trying to control reality to meet their needs. They want to be a magnet. They want someone else to approve of or validate them. They want their desires and magnetic energy to be emitted off so that they get more abundance and more of what they want, trying to control reality. That's not magnetic. What is more magnetic is a deeper layer which says, what if I could accept not being a magnet at all? What if I could accept not needing other people's approval and validation? What if I could accept myself accepting myself and then not needing to control reality? And what if as a side effect of that, those things come to you, but you can't be doing it to get it? It's kind of tricky, right? Okay, you're able to do it. I really don't want it. I really don't want it, but where's the person? Where's the validation approval Aaron is talking about? When you're truly let go and you truly don't care. That's when it happens. It's from being detached, which I'd actually say even more so is non-attached. Detached, kind of like you were attached and you detach and like now you don't want it and there's resistance in your field. Non-attached is a softer energy of like, I'm good either way. Think about that energy. If I'm like, what do I have to do to be magnetic so that you like me on the other end of watching this? What do I have to do? What do I have to do? Okay, I'm gonna do— how do I look? How do I look? Do I look good? How do I— what if I stand like this? Does this look like— I'm gonna put— I'm gonna channel now. I'm gonna channel something like that. Energy is like, dude, just be you. But if I'm like, I'm good either way, whether you approve of me, whether you don't approve of me, whether I stutter or not stutter, whether I say things perfectly or not, I don't I don't, I'm not looking for you to validate my existence, to make me feel worthy, whole, and complete. There's a different energy there, right? I don't need to contort myself to get validation and approval. And because I don't need to do that and I can just be myself and I just accept of myself, then a lot of times people are like, I respect this person. I can feel the authenticity behind this person. Think about it. People feel what you feel. If you are at ease with yourself and you are not attached, you're not infusing resistance into your energy field. More people are going to be attracted to that, but who cares? You've already given up the belief that, oh, I need you to do this and give this to me in order for me to feel worthy, whole, and complete. You realize you don't need it. I'm good either way. So use this mantra: I'm good either way. I'm good either way. I don't need the validation approval. I don't need to be a magnet to my desires. I'm good either way. I choose to get into the vibration of being versus the vibration of doing to get, the vibration of contorting to absorb whatever the magnetic energy is that I'd be putting off. So you are more magnetic the more detached from being magnetic you are. And being, wanting to be magnetic is wanting the universe to meet your needs in this funny, silly way that you think is gonna meet your needs, but it's not actually going to meet your needs in that deep way. If you were right now, I was talking to my buddy Victor about this last night. My buddy Victor was talking about, we were talking about different energy dynamics in our life that were like shedding. And he was telling me he's doing jiu-jitsu now. And he was telling me that he is, A lot of stuff comes up in these jiu-jitsu classes because he's going to these two different schools. And basically you go and there's different belts, people are wearing different belts, and he's a white belt because he just started out. So he's going against people that are in blue belts, black belts, brown belts, all these different belts. And what he was saying is sometimes this fear will come up from him where it's like they're supposed to pair up with partners to like try out different jiu-jitsu moves. And what'll happen is sometimes he'll feel almost afraid to ask the black belt to roll with him because he's like, I'm a white belt, they're not gonna wanna roll with me. And he realizes this is his own projection. And what he said is there's other people there that are like, been there a while. They're like, bro, this in your head, don't worry about that. People don't care. You go up to that black belt right now, go up to that black belt right now and ask him to roll with you. And Victor's like, no, no, no, no, I'm uncomfortable doing that. But it's the self-perpetual energy that we infuse in. And what I was telling him is what's interesting is even if right now, like what we might think is deep down, maybe there's this fantasy that like one day all the black belts are gonna wanna roll with me. I'm gonna be better. I'm gonna have more status of this belt and they're gonna wanna roll with me. And I was like, imagine that all the black belts in the room just went up to Victor and were like, I just wanna roll with you, Victor. I know you're a white belt, but you seem really awesome. And then all the black belts are like, let's roll with Victor. Victor, you are the, and like, this energy of just like validation to him, wanting him to roll with, wanting to roll with him, he'd be like, oh, oh. But then eventually he'd be like, this is kind of like, you'd get over it. You imagine someone like Justin Bieber that's lived most of his life with people just fawning over him, people wanting things from him, celebrities and paparazzi just like following around taking his photos. And some people look at that and go, I'd be so validated and approved of, that'd be so awesome. For like 10 minutes it would be, but that is because you feel your ego would get a little boost, but then you'd get annoyed. He gets so annoyed he like fights cameramen, something like he's gotten, because there's constantly, even if you're having a bad day, there's people trying to take photos of you, trying to capture a moment, trying to take from you. So what you think of as heaven in one dynamic is hell to someone else. Does Victor really want a whole bunch of black belts chasing him around? Wanting to roll with him. I said, I told him yesterday, I was like, you think you want black belts to roll with you, but they're so good that you probably, it's probably hard to learn. Like, if I was like, I want to get better at basketball, so I'm gonna go play basketball with Michael Jordan or LeBron James or Kobe Bryant, and I would do that, I wouldn't, I would never get the ball. They would just like, if they're like playing all out, I'm, what am I gonna learn? Because they're just that much better than me. However, if I play with someone just a little bit better than me, and then a couple people that are a lot better than me, but there's, there's more ability to learn and to get better. So energetically, the reason I'm saying this is because when it comes— we think we know what we want. I want to be magnetic. But do you want to be magnetic to narcissists? You said you wanted to be magnetic. Okay, here's a narcissist. Here's a sociopath. Here's a controlling covert manipulator. And you go, I'm so magnetic. Look at all these people around me. I'm so magnetic. You wanna be magnetic to everybody? No, you don't. You wanna be magnetic to people that specifically, you probably want, maybe you want their validation or approval. You wanna be magnetic to really high vibe people that just like encourage you. But you don't want to be magnetic to certain other people. But what I'm saying is you don't have to try to be magnetic at all. The more— the less you try, the more you are. Think of Yoda's quote: try— do or do not, there is no try. I would say be or be not, there is no try. And do is even less of a vibration than Being. That's what I would say. Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to one-up Yoda. Do or do not, there is no try. Be or be not. Trying and doing is inferior. There we go. Okay, use the Force. The Force of non-attachment will completely transform your life. And the more you are non-attached, the more magnetic you are. It's a paradox, I know. So I do have a course, by the way, that's free. That's a $1,000 course for free that's called High Vibe 101. It will show you how to heal, clear out your energy field, how to be non-attached, and we do breathwork and different things for cleaning out the energy field. It's completely free. I'll go ahead and link it below. You can join. It's in the High Vibe Tribe, which is free, and it's a free $1,000 course for free. You can go through it, watch how the more you let go, the more magnetic you are. And if you want to see a video that has to do with letting go, it's an Instagram Live that I did recently where it was all different aspects of letting go and surrendering. One of my most popular Instagram Lives I've done. I'm going to go ahead and put it right here for you to watch next. Would you rather be right or would you rather be free? Sometimes we can be right about reality.
