Your Future Self Transformation Step-by-Step (NO GOING BACK)

Aaron Doughty walks through a four-step process to transform your life by changing your identity, not just your thoughts. Start by recognizing your current self-image as an autopilot pattern, reframe past experiences to release their emotional grip, picture your future self in detail, then wire it in through daily actions that align with who you're becoming.

There's a quote that I've always loved by Dr. Wayne Dyer, and he said that you don't always get in life that which you want, but you always get in life who you are. And who you are, who you are being right now in this moment is equal to the reality that is on your external world. So the key to changing your reality is not thinking certain thoughts. It's not only focused on the surface like that. It's changing who you are at the being level. And I'll tell you from experience, This is exactly what I did to create my dream life. I changed who I was at the being level. I changed my identity, the way that I saw myself. I changed that by simply using a simple 4-step process. And in this video, I believe that if you stay to the end, it will completely transform your life because I'm gonna run through and show you in a new way that I've never showed anything before. Actually, I just had this kind of intuitive idea to do this. Um, you'll see right over here on either side, you'll see this, uh, I'm going to be showing you this thing that I mapped out and it's just going to explain to you some key things to understand about who you are that will completely transform your life and allow you to bridge your old reality to your new reality and knowing that it's easier than you think. And I'm going to show you the process and exactly step by step how to do that. Now, first off, I will say that if I looked at my old reality, like the way that I came about this, by the way, is, uh, I used to work at Nordstrom's in women's shoes and I read a book that was called Psycho-Cybernetics. I'll put the book right there, Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. And this guy was a plastic surgeon and what he would do is he realized that when people would get surgery, they had an inner image of how they saw themselves and unless they changed their inner image, their life wouldn't really change even if if they got like, like, uh, like facial reconstruction or whatever the, uh, the, the plastic surgery they were getting. And he talks about this idea and honestly this idea, Tony Robbins teaches it. Many, many people talk about it. It's your self-image. How you see yourself is being projected out. Other people are responding to you based in that way. And unless you change your self-image, you'll always fall back to the default. We all have a default, a subconscious default for what we think we're worthy of. And if it's making $20,000 a year, anytime we have we have the opportunity to make more, we'll push ourselves back into that, we'll sabotage ourselves and we won't know why, we'll feel doubt, we'll feel blocked, we'll feel confused. And it's because that self-image hasn't changed. This is why when people wanna lose weight, they lose weight, they're losing a part of themselves. That's the frame of that language. But instead, if they don't change their self-image and start to see them as a person that's in shape, then they fall back and they lose that weight back 'cause they haven't changed their self-image. I learned about this while working that 9 to 5 job selling women's shoes, I was starting to learn about the law of attraction and I would get some results. I had an actually an amazing day with the law of attraction where I set the intention to sell $8,000 and I got paid 10% commission. So that means I made $800 in one day selling women's shoes. And it was such an out there goal for me 'cause normally I'd sell about $3,000. And I set that intention and I hit that goal and it showed me, okay, there's something here with this law of attraction thing. But it wasn't consistent for me. And the reason it wasn't consistent was because I didn't change my self-image. When I learned about this, this is what happened. This is the power of it, and it worked almost immediately. I started to see myself as a top salesperson. So every single day I'd go in, I normally realized I saw myself as like an average salesperson. I saw myself as somebody at the end of the day or the beginning of the next day, what they would do is they'd put a list of the top salespeople from the day before in my department. I was in women's shoes, so it was like, 8 of us, 9 of us in designer shoes. And I saw myself as just mediocre. I wasn't the worst, but I wasn't the best. And you know what I started doing? I started to see myself at the top of the list. I would imagine myself going to work the next day. It's just who I am to be at the top of that list. Not only that, but I saw myself, I'm just a charismatic person that helps a lot of people, has a very positive energy. And I would then, it was easy for me to be that. And then all of a sudden, Consistently, I was one of the top salespeople. All I did was change my self-image. And in this video, I'm gonna show you exactly how to change your self-image step by step, and it will change your life if you apply what I'm about to share with you. So now, first off, let's look at your old self. Your old self is the autopilot self. It's the old identity. And I want you to know right now, astrology, numerology, the labels that we may buy into. And I think, I love numerology and astrology, I think they're great, but we are not limited by them. We think that our old identity is static, meaning it doesn't change. We're changing every single moment. It's just that a lot of us are changing to become the same thing over and over and over again. And that's why we get the same reality over and over and over again, because who we are being is the same. We're not making a new choice about who we are. And for a long time, I had different labels that I identified with that kept me in that reality. It was static 'cause I thought this is who I am. So first off, we need to become aware and we need to start to realize that like, you're not limited by numerology or astrology. These are things that we choose to buy into and they're powerful permission slips. I think astrology and numerology can be very powerful tools, but the tool does not use you. So if your numerologist or astrology person told you that you're not gonna be abundant in this life, don't believe them. You can be abundant no matter what. This is about you and you, maybe, maybe you were told that so that you could take your power back so that you can make a new choice about who you are and not be told and it's static. You see what I mean? So, okay, step one to this process is simply awareness. Now awareness, is what you wanna do is you wanna take inventory of your current identity and realize that you are not static. You are not static. You are who you choose to be in the present moment right now, but maybe a lot of your life has been on autopilot. So for me, I used to believe I had ADHD. I was told that I did by other people. I went to a doctor, they gave me Adderall, the prescription drug for having ADHD, and I would take that and I would be very calm. It would help me. I would be able to focus while I was at work. And I was at the point where I would take 3 shots of espresso or 4 shots of espresso every day and I'd feel totally calm. Espresso would actually calm me out. That was, it was the opposite effect. But I realized that I was buying into the, you know, I believed I had ADHD and my reality was equal to that. And I thought it was static. This is who I am. I'll always be this way. But then I started meditating and as I started to meditate, I started to question these beliefs. I started to reframe it. Reframe it. What I did is I started to see myself as somebody that was more zen. Think about it. I got rid of the ADHD mentality and what I started to do is I started to see myself as like a meditator. And within literally like a week or two of observing my thoughts, not trying to control them, what happened is my whole entire reality changed. My energy changed. Instead of like thinking I have ADHD, I reframed the meaning, said I just have a crapload of energy. I just have a lot of energy. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go outside and I'm gonna ground myself in grass. That was one thing that I used to do. I used to think I was a victim because of my painful past. Many of you know my story, but I had a controlling ex-stepmom in my life from 7 to 16, and then my dad divorced her and then became free. But I still saw myself as a victim and I kept attracting women into my life that were just, were controlling. An ex-girlfriend was controlling right after the ex-stepmom thing. And then I had a manager, that manager that I'm talking about in the same department where I changed myself image and became like, you know, started selling at the top. She was almost exactly like my stepmom. I always had someone trying to control me because I believed I was a victim. And that made that— I became aware of that. I became aware of that perspective. And then I went through a spiritual awakening and I changed the meaning of the painful past because I realized it led me to a spiritual awakening. Now, also, I saw myself as having a 9-to-5 job. I'm like somebody that gets told what to do every day, even though it was commission. A job so I could kind of control my paychecks a little bit. That's how I saw myself. I saw myself as a 9 to 5 job goer. And it was my reality therefore was equal to that. Who I was being was I was going to work every day. I was selling women's shoes. I was complaining to other people if it was slow or something like that. I would get off, I'd go home. A lot of times I would smoke weed because during the day I was taking Adderall. Adderall, harsh side effects. You don't sleep very much. You don't eat very much. What's the side effects of weed? You get to eat, you get to sleep. So every day I would take, I'd do that in the morning, go at night, do that. And I just felt resistance. I felt like I shouldn't need all these things in order to be happy. And then I learned meditation, completely transformed my life. And more than that, it changed my identity. I started to see myself differently. This is why when you see people that maybe are out of shape and they go start doing yoga, and when you go to a Bikram yoga class, they tell you, if this is your first time, you gotta go like every day for a week to really get the benefits. Smart, because once you make it a habit, guess what? Then it's like, this is who I am now. I'm the yoga person. I buy Lululemon. I pay $118 for a pair of pants and I bought a little, uh, uh, Gaia yoga mat and I go to yoga class. I'm a yoga person. And then you may get positively reinforced because your friends see you when you're doing the yoga stuff and then you post about it and you realize there's a lot of attractive people you're around and stuff. You're like, oh, this is like cool, right? So it's an identity thing. You change the identity, it makes it so much easier to change. So awareness, what I'd like you to do right now is you could pause this video and you could literally write out who do you believe you are? What is your current identity that you are maybe giving? How can you see that these current stories you tell yourself about who you are, take inventory of it and then they'll move on to the second step. So what we'll do now is we'll put on some really cool like music. I saw you've done that. Now secondly, the second step is to heal the past meaning. So here's what happens. If you've ever seen that scale of consciousness that I share, you've got, uh, this is everything calibrates at a certain vibration. You've got anger and neutrality at 250. When I learned how to observe my thoughts, I then went from, uh, like anger of my ex-stepmom and stuff to neutrality. And that was like a huge— I felt such a release. And then willingness is like Tony Robbins. It's willpower. It's getting things done. Meaning and action. 400 is reasoning, the intellect of the mind. And then 500 is love. Now here's the thing, the reasoning is like the meaning. We gave meaning to things in our pasts and that meaning is on autopilot. So I gave meaning that says I'm a victim, I'm mad at my ex-stepmom, I'm not worthy, I'm a 9-to-5 job goer, like this is all I'm capable of. Those are all just beliefs, but they're meanings that we've given to our life that we think are fixed, that we think are static, but they're not. We can change them at any moment. That's what I did. I changed. I was like, oh, I'm a 9-to-5 job goer. And then I said, you know what? I want to be a full-time YouTuber. I identified that version of me and I simply started to be that version of me. And that became my dominant reality because of that choice that I made. That's all it is. It's a choice. It's just that we don't have to tell ourselves a story that change is so hard and it's something that takes a lot of time. You just be it now. So reasoning though, that the way you heal is by meaning. So think about it. Remember this too, forgiveness. I had to forgive my ex-stepmom to stop attracting more like chicks and women in my life that were being like that. And what I had to do is I had to see that actually that painful experience of my ex-stepmom led me to a spiritual awakening. So it was a gift. It was a weird, twisted, weird gift, but it was a gift because it led to that spiritual awakening and it completely transformed my life. So in a weird way, I changed the meaning. That's all I did. And if you realize that people are always doing the best they can with where they're at, my ex-stepmom, who's like a narcissist, she's that way because her dad treated her a certain way. In a way, she was at one point the victim and her way of coping with the victimness is I'm gonna tear down other people's buildings, I'm gonna be mean to other people and I'll feel more powerful because she doesn't know that she has power inside of her for just being her. So when I started to see that doesn't make it right, doesn't justify everything, but it does help me understand that she's just doing the best she can with where she's at. It allows forgiveness. When you forgive, you then let go of the emotional charge. When you have a position that someone did something they're not supposed to do, you keep it within your energy field and you attract people to reflect that pattern back. I decided to change my belief about women. Subconsciously, I was afraid of getting too close, too intimate with women, and I could see myself hold myself back in relationships because of that perspective. And what I had to learn to do, and to also not attract like similar things, is I had to change my view of it, not be afraid of like being controlled. You see what I mean? If I'm always implying that, then it's like, it's almost like it's active in my energy. So the way that you move into love, love and above, is you have to let go and just be, let go of the reasoning of the mind. And the way you do this is you heal past meaning. Anything that happened to you, you can see it as happening for you. Because you now give it a new meaning and that changes everything. Then you heal it. So it's healing past meaning is really all it is. And you could do that for anything. If somebody loses a job and they gave that a negative meaning, said it means I'm not worthy, I'm not capable of having this job, then they'll find a reality that is equal to reaffirm that belief. But if they lose a job and they say, you know what, I don't fricking like this job anyways. Some of the people I've worked with, they just like vent to me all the time. It wasn't that, Actually enjoyable. I actually, you know what I'm really passionate about is just like, you know, I wanna, I wanna have my own, I'm gonna create art. I wanna do this. I wanna like make content. I wanna be an athlete, whatever it is. And what you do is you then give it the meaning that you are going to then wire in and start to be from your heart, from your passion. It's a new meaning. Both realities are valid. You can experience either one. It's up to you. So that's something to realize as well. But meaning, to be free, all you gotta do is change the past meaning. You change the past meaning, everything changes. And as you look to your past, by the way, neuroscience shows us that as we look into our past, we're changing our past every time we recall memories. So by the time you've remembered something like 10 times, it's a fricking different past, like completely different. But we think it's fixed. And what parallel reality, this is a whole different conversation, but what parallel reality show us is that there's an infinite number of parallel realities that exist. So as you change the present moment, you change which parallel realities were your past. It's why somebody's trying to stop smoking. Realize that you're not a smoker trying to stop smoking because that's the identity, right? Realize you're shifting to a reality where you never did smoke. You've dropped the identity, you've dropped the past. I know it sounds like a— but it works. I'm telling you, it works. Third step, you guys ready for third step? Actually, right now, pause this video with the cool little— we'll have that little elevator music or whatever music we use. And what you do is you change change the meaning of 2 or 3 things that really impacted your past that you really remember. Change the meaning of it and start looking at the positives and how it could have served you, how it could have happened for you, and how that, um, could have actually led you to become more strong or who you are today. The third step to this is choosing the new identity. This is exactly what I did when I started making daily videos on YouTube. I literally imagined— you use imagination for this to tap into it— and what I did is I identified the most passionate version of me. How does that version of Aaron think, feel, and act? And what I realized is even though I was living at my dad's house, selling women's shoes, working 40 hours a week, I realized the version of me that was a full-time YouTuber was making daily videos on YouTube. So what I did is I simply was able to see that I used my imagination to connect to that version of me. And when you start to even see your past self as a different identity and your future self as a different identity, You can then see that, okay, what I have to do is mirror the identity of the, 'cause there's parallel realities and stuff. That's a whole nother conversation. Maybe that's too complicated for now. But the idea is like you can imagine that version of you and then using your imagination, you can pick up on more and more qualities. How do they think, act, and feel? Identify what they're passionate about. And then what books do they read? What kind of people do they hang out with? Start to become aware of this and then affirm it. Say, this is who I choose to be. This is who I choose to be. That's what I did. I started making daily videos on YouTube within a short period of time, my whole entire reality transformed. I was told in an intuitional, like, thing, I was like, if I make videos every single day for a year, my life will transform. It was true, but actually didn't take a year. It took like 4 or 5 months. It's crazy. This stuff really works. You have to identify that new version of you and then choose that this is who you prefer to be. Connect it to your heart though. I find that to be the most powerful thing. That's the thing that I would really, like, recommend. Now, for this exercise, literally go through an imagination, your imagination, and imagine and see what comes up for you. That ideal version of you. How do they think, act, feel? What are their daily habits like? What do they do for a living? What are they, um, uh, what kind of people do they hang out with? Imagine all those things and then write them down. Write them down. So step 3, here we go. We got that cool music. Step 3. All right, now step 4. This one's actually really simple. Just wire it in. But here's the key. Wire it in with daily actions. Daily actions. Daily. Why daily? Because what you do daily compounds over time. If you go to the gym once, eh, not so, not so much of a change. You go to the gym twice, yeah, getting a little bit, a little bit closer, right? You go to the gym like 3 weeks in a row, you know what? Your new identity. You start, then this, you don't go to the gym, you feel weird. Because it's a pattern now. Daily actions. I made daily videos and I started to see myself. Here's the thing, people would tell me, other YouTubers, like, how do you make daily videos on YouTube? That's crazy. And all I did was I did it daily for such a long period of time that it's like, this is just who I am. It's a part of the identity. It's easy when it's a part of the identity. And what you wanna do is wire it in with action and your choices. So one thing I would do is I would identify the highest leverage action. When you look at this version of you and your identity and you look in the imagination, What is the highest leverage action? You can even ask them, say, yo, future self, how you doing, boo? What is the highest leverage action I should be taking every day to become that version, to become you, to have your reality? And they'll give it to me. It was making a video a day. Now I'm starting to do different stuff where I started doing like live events and stuff. So I'm actually have to take my video away from my time and energy away from doing a video a day and put it towards live events and actually rebrand, doing stuff with the brand right now. That's the idea, that's the message I got, that's what I'm doing. And here's the thing, you're gonna model them. You know, model success is what Tony Robbins talks about, but I'm not talking about modeling someone, model the future version of you from your imagination. And here's the key, do it because it's who you are, not because of what it'll get you. Do it because it's who you are, that's when it's the most powerful, that's the being level. It's like be, do, have. Like if you look at this, you got be, do, and motherfrickin' have. If the most— we normally think that's the way it works. You must first have something, then you can do something, then you could be something. The way reality works is you must be it, you'll naturally do it because it's who you are, and then you'll have what that version of you naturally has. This is the key to reality. Be it, and you be it by giving yourself permission to be it. No matter how many times I circle this, you're gonna know, you guys gotta be it. And how do you be it? You realize that it's who you really are. It's connected to your heart. And what you do is you do it because it's who you are. If you're doing it because it's what, what it'll get you, short-term thing. If people get on YouTube because they just want a lot of views or they wanna make money, it normally doesn't work. But if they do it because it's who they are, they wanna add value and it's like this expansive intention, it's very different. So the main message I have for you to do today is to commit to this vision, commit to it. Trust this vision. It takes a little bit of time for the old reality to phase out so that the new reality can phase in. But I'm telling you right now, you apply what I share with you right now, it will change your life. I promise you. But you gotta commit to it. Commit to this vision and do it and modify it as it goes. Maybe it changes a little bit. Communicate daily with your future self and see what messages they give you. You know, you have the inner guidance system inside of you that will show you these things and as you do it, it completely changes your reality. So this is something that I recommend you do. Um, if you haven't already, I just redid the whole, uh, I don't know if you've ever seen it, but what'smyvibration.com, um, you, where you calibrate your vibration to see where you are so you can raise it and realize the more you raise your vibration, which is up the scale right here, the more, uh, magical life becomes, the more synchronicity you experience and the more enjoyable life is. Go to whatsmyvibration.com, calibrate your vibration, comment below which archetype you calibrated at. There's different archetypes. And other than that, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Let me know, share it with other people too to help people, you know, bridge their future self if you found it powerful. And let this be the video that changed everything for you. It's just a choice. Anyways, I'll talk to you guys later. Peace, much love.
