Aldo Sterone delivers a personal, informal monologue warning that newly forming romantic relationships are extremely fragile and should be protected. He illustrates this with a beach anecdote where a partner expresses disbelief in happiness, explains how negative cognitive bias magnifies small negatives over many positives, and gives concrete examples (friend-group gossip, workplace romances) where outside exposure can destroy a relationship. His practical advice: keep early-stage relationships secret until trust and stability are established; reveal them only gradually within circles of trust. The video closes with a shoutout to an AI caricature artist and logistical asides (car repair, contact methods).
Hello, my friends. This video wasn't created as a challenge. I don't make videos as a challenge. But I was chatting with some friends and they told me that they'd looked at the last 10 years of my work. And they weren't even sure if the word love was mentioned. I think that's a mistake. It's true that I'm not given to sentimentality, as you know. But it's a subject that touches me. But it's not something I've discussed extensively, let's say. So I'd like to tell you a story today. And if I had to give some advice to the people listening to me, it would be that today I'd talk about budding stories. Love stories that are just starting out, that are in their infancy, that are just learning to work. I want to tell you that these stories are extremely fragile. We have to learn to preserve them. For example, when a plane is taking off, that's when it's most vulnerable, because it's close to the ground. It doesn't have enough speed, it doesn't have enough energy. Those are the most delicate moments of its journey, let's say. The rest of it is much simpler. Well, it's the same with love stories. It's when it's taking off, when it's leaving the ground, that turbulence can affect it much more brutally than at any other time. Such as when it's cruising, for example. Let me tell you something. I remember once I was in a group of friends, a group of acquaintances, let's say. Maybe the word friends is too much for this particular group. And then I remember I went out with a girl who was in that group. It was a long time ago. I'm being vague about the dates, but I can tell you that it was a long time ago. That a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then. And in fact, I remember one day. It was at the beginning of our relationship, really at the beginning, I was with her by the sea. We were by the sea, on a beach. And I was sitting. I was sitting on the ground. There were some pebbles that were quite. Pebbles that were hurting my thighs a little and all that. And then she sat on me to protect her a little from this unpleasant contact. She was sitting on me and we were watching the sunset. It was truly a moment of peace, a moment of tenderness. Something a little out of time. I still have great memories of it. A good time when we had this feeling of floating. And nothing existed, nothing else existed. She seemed happy. I was very happy that she was and then she told me this. At one point, she just blurted it out. She said, I'm very happy. Or words with that meaning. I'm not paraphrasing, okay? And then she continued by saying, what's going to go wrong? It's going to go wrong. Quote, okay? In fact, it gave me a bit of a shock. And of course, a man's reaction in that situation would have been, why are you asking that question? I can reassure you right away. I didn't answer like that. I didn't say anything at all. But that moment revealed things to me. She revealed to me that she was a person who probably didn't know everything about her story, because, as I said, we were at the beginning of a relationship. It proved several things to me. When you hear a woman say that I'm talking about women. I'm not going to talk to you about men, even if we can find similarities or parallels or correspondences, right, in the sensitivity between the two sexes. But I'm going to talk to you only about women, because that's my experience in that area. So I was telling you that when she said that, this is how I perceived. This is how I read this message. I read that this was a person who had been hurt by life, someone who had been hurt in the past, someone who had their own weaknesses and worries to the point where they perhaps considered that being happy was not normal in their life, that they did not have the right to happiness because they had probably experienced terrible things in the past, to the point where if they had a moment of happiness, a moment of relaxation in their life, they considered that it was not normal. And they would find it normal if something came along to disrupt that moment or disrupt that dynamic. And that is what is terrible. We can find it in men, but we can also find it in women in a very similar way, even though I am talking about women today. And in fact, if you want, I will tell you something. Humans believe things all the more easily when they are conditioned and ready to believe them. If you look at scammers, for example, how do scammers work? Or how do propagandists work? They work on things that the person is ready to believe. For example, someone wants to become rich. They really want to make money, and they want to make money online. And so one day they will come across a guy or a website that says, listen, we help you make money. You pay us for your time, and we help you make money and all that. And so since they are in this momentum, since they are in this dynamic, they will be more likely to believe them and therefore more likely to fall into the hands of scammers, because these scammers only have to do the last part of the mental journey for them. But most of the mental journey has already been done. That's the problem. When humans are ready to believe something, well, if they come across it, they will believe it very easily. How does it work? Let me give you another example. If you look at everyday life, we are bombarded with information. We are bombarded with intellectual, cognitive, sensory, and other experiences. And we weigh all of this on a scale. And for each situation, there are pros and cons on the scale, there are positive elements, pluses that fall, and negative elements that fall. And when we don't have a mental note about a situation, we. Well, we have a balanced approach. For example, if I have a preponderance of elements, I have only positive elements about a person or a situation, well, that will tip the scale in the right direction.
Okay.
In a favorable way. Except that if we are in a situation with a negative cognitive bias, what will happen? We will give a very strong weighting to the negative signals and not value the positive signals at all. So we have the tendency we can receive 50 positive signals. All we need to do is receive half a negative signal. We'll multiply it by 1000, and finally, when it gets on the scale, well, it'll win all by itself. Do you see what I mean? That's the problem. So I can tell you today, well, this story was a long time ago. I didn't have it in my head, even though it was at the beginning. Again, I was really in a permanent contract with this person. And I think that in all likelihood, even if it's hard to say it like that, in all likelihood, if this story had continued at the time, I think I would probably have been with her until now. Okay, Just to give you an idea, and in fact, what happened is that we parted ways on very good terms that day. Each of us went our own way, but on very, very good terms.
Okay?
Calls, messages, all that. I'll tell you, it was really great. At one point, at one point, she's going to tell one of the girls in this group of friends, she's going to tell this story that we had. She's going to say, yeah, you know, he and I, there's something, and all that, and she's going to tell it, but it's normal. I don't blame her for telling it because sometimes people can't keep these kinds of things to themselves. It's for them or for her, it doesn't matter. So she's going to tell this girl, and then this girl is going to tell her something. I don't really know what, but I think she told her something about the fact that I was chasing her or something like that. While this girl, to tell you, I've never, never had any kind of relationship with her. I've never held her hand where I told her something or other, anything, as they say in English. And I received images of her that were, that were more equivocal, let's say, but without there being more on my part than that.
Okay.
There was, there was a kind of flirtation, if you like.
Okay.
A kind of flirtation that was fueled more by her than by me. I won't hide from you. I responded favorably to this flirtation. I responded positively. We're guys, you know, When a girl flirts with you a little, you can react on an ego level and that's it. And you're going to, I, I, I never initiate this flirtation, but that's it. But it never went beyond this superficial flirtation.
Okay.
Nothing else. So she had no reason to make the remarks that she did. And what's more, this flirtation happened before this story. Well, before and at the time of this story, even this relationship, as they say, had been over for a very long time.
Okay?
And then, bam, there you go. So that's what was told. The other person, as she was particularly, as she was particularly sensitive, let's say, and didn't believe in happiness. She believed that it would collapse anyway. I just need to know how and where. Ah, well, this thing, these sentences that the other person said to her of which I don't even have the full gist because she didn't even want to share everything with me. So here I'm giving you the nice version. But maybe when she spoke to her, she must have said horrible things to her that were even more than I know. And so from there, bam, collapse.
Okay.
From there, she started not wanting to talk to me anymore, all that. I tried, I tried to explain, I tried to understand, I tried to start a conversation, but it was a no go. It was a no go. And that's it. Okay, I waited a few weeks, a few months, even with the secret sports, for her to show up again or whatever, but that's it. And then I turned the page. That's it. I just wanted to tell you. But that's what I can tell you today. If you're in a relationship, I talk to people. I talk to someone who contacted me on the phone that I shared. Imagine she's in a club and he's going out with a girl, a chick who also works there. So he approaches her, she responds very favorably. And then a scandal breaks out. Who's behind it? Who's behind it? Who is driven by someone who has been rejected by this same girl. So imagine this situation. You arrive at a company, there is a woman, and I really advise against romances in companies. Really? Really, really. But we are human. It can happen. But it does happen. Honestly, I have known people so cautious that they were going out together. But they ran into each other in the hallway at work, didn't even say hello. They didn't even look at each other to tell you, okay, you really have to hide in the workplace. Really, really, really. No one should even suspect or suspect the relationship. They were a little more open about it and more communicative, let's say. Which is a big mistake in the corporate world. No matter the situation, but the risk. In this case, if you look, the girl had already rejected someone a few months earlier. This guy arrives, this guy arrives, they look at each other, they both fall in love. That's good for them. Except that there are sensitivities. The guy there who she gave a thumbs down to, okay, who hadn't completely given up on a turnaround, suddenly finds himself in the arms of the new guy. Huh? What's he going to think? Where did he see them kissing? In the parking lot? How's he going to react? Okay, there you have it. You can imagine the situation. So here it can very quickly go to. And in the specific case I'm telling you about, this isn't my story, it's someone else's story. In the specific case I'm telling you about, within this company, the relationship was broken. Really? The relationship was broken, even though it was broken at the beginning.
Okay?
So honestly, once again, the advice from this love video. You've lived long enough to see a love video from Aldosterol. I'm not sure there will be others, but I can tell you to be very careful. You should always keep your relationship a secret from your friends, family, colleagues and everyone else. Treat it as top secret. Also make sure that the person you're talking to is also on the same page. Keep your relationship a secret until you're strong enough and have built enough trust with each other. You have trust between you. You're close, you have well founded feelings. Now you're starting to have a little experience of living together. Getting to know each other. And only then gradually, and only in circles of trust at first, do you start to show your relationship. From there it's good, because if you don't, and this is almost always the case, you announce a relationship and there will be negative reactions. If the relationship is too fragile, it will break because of that. That's it, my friends. So thank you for watching this video so far. I'd like to show you something. These are caricatures that were done. This is a portrait that was done by ias. He's a cartoonist. I love him. I like what he does. I like his sensitivity and his style. He's really great. And then beyond that, it's a caricature. Beyond the art, there are also the values. I'll give you his website on how to do it. In the pinned comment, on this video and in the description. If you want to give him a gift, go buy him a portrait or a caricature. You send him a photo and then he mails you the drawing he's done. It's beautiful the way he does it. And of course he didn't ask me to do it and he didn't pay me to do it.
Okay?
So I just wanted to tell you that I like the artist and I like what he does. So the least I can do is talk about it. Thank you very much. I hope you like the sound of this car. Mine is being repaired at the garage. An annual check up and all that. Two or three things need to be changed, so he might keep it until tomorrow or next week. And in the meantime I'm driving this one. I'm not sure it has the same sound.
Okay.
It's less subdued it seems, but that's okay. The other one will come back. Thanks for listening so far. If you have any questions, send them in the comments. Otherwise, well, the phone number, the classic WhatsApp.
Huh?
44. What is 44? I'd rather not. I'm afraid of making a mistake. And then you'll spam someone else. That would be a shame. See you soon, my friends.
