Hello, friends. People tell me on the Aldo videos that you've changed. Your face looks different lately. Yes, it's different. And it's not just the camera. I've lost about 10kg in the last few weeks or so. I've caught inflammation, inflammation in my digestive system. So I'm taking medication and restricting my diet, which means I don't eat much and I'm losing weight. So every cloud has a silver lining, as they say. It's helping me get back to normal. I've never been completely happy with my weight. And I wanted to tell you, in relation to those who ask me about sugar. How do you manage to eat sugar? I'll tell you a story. We're addicted to sugar, but we don't realize it simply because it's cheap. It's in practically all our food, especially processed food. Let's say we only have to open the fridge or even open the smallest cupboard. And if we're not careful at home, we'll end up with maybe half or three quarters of our food products that are very high in sugar. So at one point I decided to cut out sugar, and I'm still on that path. And I won't hide from you that it's been an uphill battle. When I say uphill battle, it's a nice way of putting it. What do you mean by that? Just so I can explain what I was like. But maybe a lot of people will recognize themselves in this lifestyle. You know, up until last year, up until the beginning of this year, I worked in it. I had a contract that allowed me to work from home. So I was glued to my computer, making calls, teams after teams, chatting after chatting. And this will affect the way I live my life outside the office. In addition, since this health crisis, things have changed for the worse in reality. Well, before COVID I had contracts that worked 100% from home, but at least they had an agreement that involved very frequent travel. Sometimes I would travel three, four times a month, or even five times a month. It wasn't always pleasant in reality, but at least it got me out of the way. On Monday morning, a driver would pick me up, go to the airport, and then I would be on a plane to Paris, Belgrade, Dublin, Corfu. Anywhere, really. Frankfurt. It could be anywhere. And I traveled very regularly. Well, these aren't pleasure trips, right? You arrive, you arrive at the airport, then you go to the hotel, you check in, the next morning you're in a meeting, all that. The only thing you can do in between is maybe visit a store Maybe go to a restaurant, but that's all. The pleasure of these trips is very limited. And when I bought things for my daughter, for example, a gift, it was more at the airport while I was waiting for my return flight. This rhythm of life changed with COVID in the sense that we started working remotely without traveling and doing lots of things that were previously considered unimaginable remotely. We started doing them remotely later, when things returned to, so to speak, normal. When the health crisis was behind us, the borders were open, there were no more travel restrictions. The stories of passes and such were constantly happening. So the world opened up again. It became the way it was before, which was practically unthinkable at the time. Well, a lot of people in my company, but also in partner and client companies, realized that ultimately, why do we travel when for two years we were able to do things remotely? And so those who manage the stock market, those who manage finances, realized that there was no point in making people travel. We could just force them to work on zoom and teams and other systems. And therefore there was more travel. So personally, it affected me a lot because I hope to go back to my previous diet. I couldn't. And so it continued. So I continued in my unhealthy life. And after a while, of course, I regularly put on weight. I put on weight, not a lot. I was never technically or medically obese, but I was always on the fringes. For example, my bmi, my body mass index, I don't know what it's called in French, my bmi, which indicates whether you are healthy, whether you have a good weight or not. It was in the yellow, it wasn't in the red, but it was outside the green. When I had blood tests, they didn't tell me you were diabetic. They told me you were pre diabetic. That means that at one point, my blood tests weren't very pretty, okay? And I realized that I was eating badly and that I was just killing myself with my food, that I was eating sugar, fast sugars that allowed me to sprint, that allowed me to access my mental resources, my energy resources, to attack a problem head on, solve it with maximum efficiency, and then feel low and go to the kitchen and bring back something sweet. When I say something secret, it wasn't always fruit. It was often something like ice cream, cake, cookies, a bottle of soda, or even, in the best case scenario, juice. Although I don't really believe in juice these days. Because it's good to eat fruit, right? For example, if I eat, I don't know, tangerines I might eat two or three at a pinch. If I drink a one liter bottle of tangerines in a day, there might be more tangerines in it than I would normally eat. I'd end up eating maybe 12 or 14 or 15. I don't know how much he puts in a bottle. But in fact, juice allows you to consume quantities of fruit that are perhaps too high. So now I prefer a regular fruit, let's say, and in really small quantities. So I was saying that at one point there was this inflammation thing that means I was starting to feel pain in my stomach. Pain in my stomach on the right, pain on the left. It could be pain that came and went, all that. So after a while, I realized that my body was sending me an alarm signal. My body was telling me to stop. Well, I've already been to the doctor. I was at the gastroenterologist. I found myself on a bed or a table or whatever you want to call it, with him looking at my entire system with his. What do you call it, an ultrasound. So you have pain there? Wait, I'll take a look. Yes. No, there's nothing there. There. It's okay there on this side. Wait. We're going to analyze everything. We're going to do it systematically. Now, the entire system was anatomical, which is already good. I did four pages of blood tests. They were fine. Maybe a little high cholesterol, but everything else was okay. So we had a conversation with the doctor about lifestyle. That means from now on, I'm going to have to change. And what I did was start to make drastic changes. Let's stop eating sugar today. I don't need sugar as much, but I can tell you that in the first few weeks, the first two or three weeks, it was terrible. I felt drained of energy. I had no more energy. Sometimes I had tears in my eyes because I didn't have my fix. I didn't have my chocolate. I didn't have my juice, my soda, my can of coke. I didn't have all that. And it was forbidden. And so I really started to feel bad. You don't realize the extent of your addiction until you stop. And in fact, at times I was on medication. I had tears in my eyes. I was in a kind of depression. I'm not depressed by nature, but I was really bad. My brain was shutting down. And in fact, the phase. I'll tell you the most acute phase of stopping Sugartook me about two weeks, 20 days, roughly. It's the hardest phase. When I went through that phase, when I got through it. When it was behind me, what did I notice? I noticed a change in my body. I noticed that my body worked differently. How? I'll tell you beforehand, if you want. When I consumed sugar, my body worked in peaks every time I needed a peak of sugar. So I would take something and I would have my energy peak. That didn't last very long. Then I would take another sugar and the whole day would go from peak to peak to peak to peak, and so on. Today I'm not like that. Today my energy is constant, but less than the peak. Agreed. Which is lower than the peak I can experience with a sugar rush. But it's a very, very respectable energy level. I don't feel bad. I don't have tears in my eyes anymore. I don't feel depressed. I feel like I'm coming back to life, but coming back to life in a different way. So regarding food, I realized that I was destroying myself with food, as I described at length in this video. So what I decided to do was not to go on a diet, because that doesn't make sense. I don't believe in diets. I've done them in the past, which were ways of saying, come on for a while, we're going to forbid ourselves this or that, like New Year's Eve. We're going to make a decision, and then we're going to forbid ourselves things. And the problem is that I'm going back on it. And we agree that the diet will last. It will last until a friend invites us to a birthday party or a wedding or something like that. And then we go to a restaurant. We make an exception today, and then the next day, and then the next day. And then we realize that a week later, this diet was ultimately just wishful thinking. And the kilos we lost during this part of the diet, well, we are gaining them back. So what I decided to do is taking advantage of the letter that the doctor gave me, because the doctor wrote me a letter with a certain number of forbidden foods. Not forbidden forever, but forbidden for now, for a certain period of time, until things return. But I decided to change my relationship with food. In fact, that means instead of starting with the idea of a diet, I decided to develop a different way of eating, and especially a different way of seeing food and having a different relationship with it. That is to say, I'll give you a simple example. Before I ate, I realized I ate from my tongue. When I say that it's good, I like that. I'm talking about the cross. I'm talking about taste, about the palate. It's something I like. And then you have to know that in our part of the world, and then if I add something, I'll add for French speakers or for people who live in the Mediterranean in general, we have the art of cooking. We have dishes that we really like and all that. And we have developed an almost gustatory relationship with food. But we forget one thing. Once the food passes the palate and we've enjoyed it, it's not over. It will go into our system, and there will be organs that will have to manage it. There will be a stomach, intestines, a liver, a pancreas, kidneys, and many organs that will then have to process this food, and they will not always taste it. When we take processed food, for example, we like it, it is good. But it is generally full of flavor enhancers, flavor enhancers and everything that makes it seem good to the palate. It is something that can even develop an addiction. In fact, this food is designed for this purpose, and we will then consume it. The palate has had no pleasure. On the other hand, the body is destroyed. So today I am trying to develop a different relationship with food. When I say that food is good, I am not necessarily thinking about the palate. Is it good for my body? Because my body is ultimately not very different in some ways from a car that I put fuel in. If I like ice cream, in terms of taste, am I going to put some in the car's tank? I'll clog up the engine, which will stop, which will stink of caramel, and then I'll have a bunch of alarms, and the car will stop. Why would I give things to my body when I wouldn't give them to my car? Why do I have more consideration for a vehicle than for my body? My body is my vehicle in this universe and in this incarnation. Why don't I take care of it? Why, when I say good food, why don't I think about my liver, my kidneys, my stomach, the rest of my body, my circulatory system, my heart? Why don't I think about that? Why should my relationship with food, or my judgment of it, stopped, start and end at the level of the tongue, at the level of the palate. If it's good for the palate, then I approve. Okay, so what I'm doing today, today, I have no symptoms at all, almost none. I have a bit of weirdness from time to time, but it's very, very low compared to before. I take fewer medications than I did four weeks Ago, I used to take a lot. I was. I don't know how many. I had three boxes. And with one of them, I sometimes took all of them together. Sometimes not all of them. I'm talking to you about 10 to 12 tablets a day, okay? And now I've reduced it. I've reduced it. I'm down to three a day. And I hope to be able to reduce it even more. Okay? In terms of weight, I've lost. I was telling you about 10 kilos. Since the highest you've seen me. If you look at this summer, my face was puffier. All that. Watching the videos, I don't know, watching them in the Maldives. Watching at the. At the Patriots Congress. At the Patriots Congress. I won't hide it from you. When I watched my image return, when you had the camera on me and I watched my image return on the big screen in the room, I thought to myself, oh my, you're puffy. I looked puffy and I didn't like myself. I thought to myself, I'm puffy. I really look like I'm floating a bit in my clothes. I took a jacket that I bought about two months ago. I wore it yesterday and it used to cross over. It was. It was barely. It barely hung like that. It crossed over completely. In fact, it crossed over about 15 centimeters. So that's good. That's good. I'm not saying that. Just so we're clear. I'm not suggesting that anyone lose weight that quickly. I lost it. Not because of illness or because of treatment. Treatment followed by a gastroenterologist and everything. And everything. And by a laboratory and all that. So it's not something I'm doing for luxury. It's just something that happened to me. My BMI for the first time in probably over 10 years has gone into the green. I looked. My BMI is in the green. That means I'm coming back. I feel better in my body somehow. Uh, when I go up the stairs, I do it. I do it willingly. I do it well. So that's good. I'm getting my body back. Even if. What bothers me about this sugar free diet is the fact that I'm seriously lacking in energy. I have constant energy, as I was saying, but I don't have those peaks anymore. So, for example, what sweets did I eat today? I've eaten two or three dates since the beginning of the day. And I had some grapes yesterday. I didn't eat anything. I don't think the day before. Either. Okay, but all those sweets have really left my Life. Okay. And I've also noticed something that I can live with by eating much less than before. Because I'm telling you a story. In our modern world, we're killing ourselves with food. We are literally being intoxicated or poisoned by food and we are eating more than we need. For example, if we have a lifestyle that requires say, 1,800 calories a day, we can easily end up eating 5,000 or 6,000 a day. Look at the products when you eat them, look at the boxes and see how many calories they contain, and you will see that there are huge amounts of calories. Our food is very high in calories, which means, in truth, we can eat much less than we eat. And that's fine. So what do we end up doing? We end up following food, either for the palate, or because we are bored, or because we are stressed or because we do not feel well, or there are many people who eat for the wrong reasons. We end up eating, eating, eating all day long. And then we go online, we order, they bring us back and all that. In the end, Maybe we eat 5000 calories a day. Of those 5000, our body will use 1800 to function. It pretends to use another 3200. What will it do with them? These are calories that will weigh down the system, that will weigh on your organs, that will weigh on your body, on your well being in the long term. And that in the end, well, will make you gain weight. Like it happened to me. Gaining weight gradually and then inevitably, sometimes because it's very difficult to get back on. It's easy to gain weight, very difficult to lose it. And so today I realized that finally, I can eat to my heart's content and much less than I used to eat. I don't need to eat more than I eat. But this is a new relationship that I am developing. I am not trying to lecture anyone here. Let's be clear. I am not telling you to do as I do. I am not telling you anything about this. I am just sharing with you a little bit of my reality today in relation to this. What I have at the moment is a handicap because it limits me. You know, it limits me. The doctor told me that I can eat apples. Well, it's not my favorite fruit, but I eat them. I eat one a day or less. Uh, I can eat what he calls slow release sugars. I can eat a boiled potato with a little coarse salt from time to time. I can eat a little pasta or a little rice from time to time. But that's it, but I eat much less than I used to. There you have it. Thank you in any case my friends, for listening so far. I'll come back to you later on this topic if you're interested, and I'll talk to you more about how I'm trying to become an actor in my health because I'm fed up with how having to deal with warnings from my body just from time to time. Eczema from time to time, pain from time to time, a symptom from time to time I go to the gp. No, you're okay, go home. And I want to live. I want to live healthily. And today I realize that we shouldn't go from crisis to crisis. We shouldn't go from one minor health problem to another. Going through life like that. At some point we have to find something sustainable and commit to it over time for sustainability, which allows us to respect our body and live better day to day and over time as well. Thank you my friends for watching this video so far. When I started the video, I didn't know I was going to talk about this. I was going to talk to you about other things. I was going to honestly tell you when I started the video, I was going to talk to you about those who tell me about artificial intelligence, threats work and all that. Then I went with that. Okay, very often in my videos I prepare a topic in my head, then I move on to another. Thank you my friends, and I'll see you next time.
