L’intelligence Artificielle va me prendre mon travail !

A first-person YouTube monologue (March 2024) addressing fears that artificial intelligence will take people's jobs. The speaker shares personal anecdotes—helping an older editorial worker learn computers and troubleshooting a furniture order handled poorly by automated support—and argues that while automation can replace routine, unengaged 'robotic' work, humans who cultivate empathy, creativity, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills remain irreplaceable. The speaker urges viewers to develop uniquely human abilities and adapt rather than fear technology.
Hello, friends. I've received quite a few messages this week, the week before and the week before that from people who are telling me, I'm afraid that Leah the artificial intelligence is going to take my job. So I'd like to tell you, I've talked about this many times, but I'd still like to add something. I'd like to tell you something. Every time there's been a technological ban of some kind, there are humans who've been afraid that it's going to take their jobs. When computers came along, a lot of people said, it's, it's over, it's over, my job's going to be taken. I remember back when computers started to become widespread because they're so recent. There was a lady I knew who worked in an editorial office. She worked in an editorial office of a newspaper, a small local gazette. And they actually had machines. Before that, they had some sort of big glorified typewriters, if you like. And then they brought them computers and she had to learn how to use them. She was going to retire, poor thing, and she had to learn how to use them quickly. I remember I used to come with her late at night after the editorial office closed. And then I arrived with her and she showed me their brand new computer and I wanted to show it to her. She started, you have to hold the mouse like this, move like this, press the keyboard down. And in fact, she showed me the work she had to do. She showed me the work. It was huge. She had already been given a lot of things. At first I thought she was just training. She had paid me as a trainer. And then I arrived, I saw the work waiting for her. I said, what happens if you don't do it on time? She told me, I risk losing my job. No, at that point I had to change my hat. My friends. I told him, listen, what we're going to do is do things differently. You're going to give me your seat now. I'm going to do this job now. And I found myself entering data typing and doing the formatting quickly. In order to protect this lady's work, I had to do her work for her. But hey, gradually she learned and all that. And then when I left her, she was really good. She was always a little slow and all. We understand each other, but it didn't make her lose her job. It's going bankrupt, on the verge of bankruptcy. But technology will always create new challenges, but it will also create new jobs. I know people. I know at least two or three people on my LinkedIn who already have their title today, Artificial Intelligence Specialists. That means they've created a new title now. Artificial Intelligence. They're certified and so on. Okay? Certification, okay. Anyone can create it. It's easy. But here's the thing to tell you that it also creates challenges, but it also creates new perspectives. I even want to be mean. I'll tell you something. For some people, honestly, it would be good if artificial intelligence took their jobs. I sometimes talk to people in my life as a consumer. I talk to humans. And honestly, honestly, honestly, I see no thinking, no intelligence, no desire to help, no desire to understand. Neither the guy who addresses your problem, nor the human who speaks to you. I see wide eyes, I see someone repeating the same thing. That's the procedure. That's how it is. Yeah, that's how it is here. We do it this way. I'm following orders. Honestly, if a human is dead inside like that. I honestly prefer artificial intelligence. Honestly, I prefer talking to a computer. I have found much more humanity in some computers than in many humans. So those are the ones who leave. We need, we need, if we need intelligence, real intelligence. Because I don't believe in the word artificial intelligence. There is no artificial intelligence. Because I know, you know, I know the west after a while. I'm not western, I. I'm African at heart. I'm starting to get to know the West. Today they tell you artificial intelligence. Tomorrow they'll tell you it's an artificial consciousness. Because what's special about us, you know, if you look at what's inside us, it's, it's, it's, it's carbon, it's oxygen, it's hydrogen, it's calcium, it's things like that. It's atoms. It's atoms that are ultimately found everywhere. These are atoms. There's nothing special about humans. There's nothing. There's no atom that we can find. We say, oh, what's this thing? There are only known things. In our case, there's only the very known. And all these atoms correspond to products that we can buy that we can put on a table. We can put them in small piles. We can have a small pile of carbon, a small pile of calcium, a small pile of stuff. We can have all these things and they all have one characteristic. They're all inert, they have no consciousness. And in fact, all these inert atoms arranged in a particular way in the human body, end up manifesting consciousness. It's really crazy. It's really crazy that the inert manifests consciousness. So today, what they want is for something inert to manifest intelligence. Later they'll tell you it's a classic. I know where it's going. They'll tell you it manifests consciousness. And later they'll tell you it's a form of humanity or it's a form of animality, where they tell you to identify as a human and all that. I know. I know where it's going. So to tell you that I don't believe in artificial intelligence. When we need real intelligence, when we need diplomacy, when we need mental flexibility, when we need all that, it's irreplaceable. We can't replace you. It's not possible. Now, if you do a job where you're a robot, where you don't need to manifest humanity or even manifest consciousness, then I have bad news there. Artificial intelligence could potentially come and take your job. That's clear. Many companies. Many companies are already starting to fall victim to artificial intelligence. Let me give you an example. There's a company that sells furniture here in the uk. I order a desk from them. I order a desk for about 350, 350 pounds. It's a desk with, you know, desks that lie down, that go up and down. You can sometimes work standing up and all that. I order it, okay? I. I open the package, I start building it. I look at the instructions. There was a little box missing, a little box containing screws. There were about half of them missing. Okay? I go to technical support. I call. They say, go online. There's no way to get a human on the phone. I go online and a robot, a chatbot, as they say. I talk to a human. No, there are no humans. Maybe they've fired everyone. What do you want? I bought this desk. What's your order number? I'll enter it. Is that your name? Yes, that's my name. What's missing? A box of screws is missing. I'm going to send you another desk. No, no, you're not sending me another desk. I'm just screwing them. I'm sending you another desk. Is your solution right or wrong? I said, no, it's not the right solution. If it's not the right solution, I'm going to close this chat. No, no, don't close this chat. I need screws. I'm sending you another desk. Yes or no? Yes. I told myself, there's a human who's going to read it. They're going to understand. They're going to check. They're not going to just send something like that. Plus, it's an expensive Product. They're not going to just send it like that. It's selling. No. Finally, three days later, someone knocked. And I received the entire piece of furniture a second time. Without having sent the first one, without having paid for the second one. I ended up with two pieces of furniture, okay? And finally, you know what I found the box with the screws. He had just sent it. It was in the packaging and found later. Do you understand? Let me give you another example. There's a guy, he contacts me. He tells me that he's a victim of Leah. He contacts me. He says, listen, Aldo, do you make videos? I make videos and a channel. It doesn't work. He sends me a video. I say, send me a video. I say, listen, I don't like doing this kind of thing. I don't really have the time, but I tell myself from time to time I have to do good. And he sends me the link to the video. Well, it's a video. I don't even remember the subject. Well, we can't see his face. It's images. A voiceover behind. Okay, I'll listen for a little while. For 30 seconds. Okay, I take the link to the video. I put it on a website. I download the video in MP3 format, 100%. I download part 100. I go to AWS, the AWS Cloud. I put my MP3 on an S3. It's just an AWS cloud storage system. And then I open a transcription conversion session. That means I want the speech to be written into text. I click, it's transcribed. A minute later, I have the full transcription. I go to a website that detects whether the text was written by artificial intelligence or by a human. I copy the text there. I click it, displays it all in red. 100% of the text written by GPT chat. Okay, I'll go back to my guy. I told him the text here, the text of the video, the preparation of the video. I make videos. Sometimes I need some aviation videos, some of which I've been preparing for a year and a half. I've read books, I. I've talked to pilots, I've done simulators, I've done tests. I ask him, how did you prepare your video? Did I pay someone? How much did you pay? €80. €80. To do what? Well, to do the research and everything. Prepared the text. I say, did you know that the text was written by chat? I broke down in 30 seconds. Oh, no, I didn't know. Well, there you go. I give him the text. He'll see he's in shock. The thing is, YouTube isn't stupid. The algorithm also detected what I did, which took me maybe 15 minutes. The algorithm did it in a microsecond. It detected this text. This video was just a GPT chat text that was chosen by an automatic voice. And over it, there are scrolling images. So the video was probably classified as having very low added value. Net result, it had three views. Here's a video. It's been around for two or three weeks, it's had three views. You see what I mean? The added value is inhumans. If you want intelligence, you want emotion, you want something that touches you, something that you connect with, a program will never create that for you. That's it. As simple as that. So instead of being afraid of artificial intelligence, try to prepare for your future. Try to learn things that no machine can do. That's all. Develop skills, develop abilities. Develop relationships. Develop interpersonal skills. Develop things that machines can't do. But otherwise, the release of Excel didn't kill accountants. You see what I mean? You shouldn't always think that new technology is going to kill you or take the bread out of your mouth. It's not possible. Thank you, my friends, and I'll see you in the next video.
