A monologue on the 2017 French election aftermath. The speaker argues Emmanuel Macron isn't president yet despite media coverage treating him as such, warns that attacking Marine Le Pen could backfire, and cautions about terrorism risks around Ramadan during the runoff.
Hello, my friends, Listening to the French people I am in contact with or observe, there is a general panic that is taking hold of them at the idea of being governed by Macron and the team of old crabs who gravitate around him. I would like to tell you a story. I like telling you a story. You know, I was a student in Switzerland. I lived in a student house. I will not mention the name of the student house, just for the sake of what is to come. And in fact, I remember that there was a kind of Casanova in the house, the guy who sometimes had three girlfriends at a time, but each one thought they had exclusivity. So in this case. And one day there was a student who had moved in, and her parents, who were helping her move in, hadn't even left the parking lot to go home when he whispered something in her ear that made her panic. So she came to us. We were in a small group like that. She was panicked by the news that something weird was happening to her. And we got her to talk and she told us that the guy she met in the hallway, what did he tell her? He said, before the end of the week, I'm going to sleep with you. That's what he told her. So we tried to reassure her. We explained to her that the guy had all the faults, but he wasn't a rapist. So if she didn't consent to such a relationship, it wasn't going to happen at all. Then, of course, we caught him. We tried to reason with him a little, we tried to tell him to avoid this kind of outing in the future. There you have it. But the fact remains that before the end of the week, she was in his bed, extremely consenting, and I can even tell you, extremely satisfied. So what can I tell you, my friends? Macron is not yet the president. Despite the coverage of the second round by the French television dogs, Macron has not yet been elected. He is a candidate. It is up to you not to vote for him or to vote against him. And he will never come to power. That's all. It's very simple. Today you have this opportunity. You won't have it in 15 days. In 15 days, there is no point in going out with banners. Macron is not my president. It will be useless. He will be your president. But for now, you still have this window of opportunity that allows you to act. By the way, I can try to be optimistic. In this video, I can tell you something. First of all, I think that the press or the media, under orders, have made a Psychological mistake. And not just one, they have made several. First of all, they treat him like a president, okay? So that is very dangerous. Why? Because the vote that will take place in two weeks, if people perceive him as a president, it will be more of a vote of punishment against him than anything else. Because seeing him as president, they are already projecting themselves under his presidency. And they are starting to realize that this is not what they want. I remember the coverage on France too, on the evening of the first round was quite telling. They covered the second round. Marine Le Pen, the journalist speaking. He says here, and Marine Le Pen, who is going to intervene with the camera on Marine Le Pen. She is speaking. We come back to the journalist. It was just after the results. The results were not even officially known. And I remember that Macron made us wait for 2 to 2.5 hours. We were waiting for him. And with cameras on the campaign headquarters, every three minutes, people dancing, we are told about security, we are told about a motorcade, we are told about a biker. He is going to leave his office, he is going to arrive, he is going to speak, there will be a speech. In fact, they were already treating him like a president. And that is a psychological error at a time when the bear's skin has not yet been sold. That is the first point. Secondly, by constantly attacking Marine Le Pen, they are turning her into a martyr. I have seen people who have no particular affinity for her, but who are starting to find the way she is being treated scandalous. For example, there are journalists today who are in the process of witch hunting. The witch has become those who do not call for a vote against her. All it takes is for a politician, whoever he is, whatever his persuasion, who has lost in this election and just wants to turn the page or devote himself to something else. And we hound him until he says that we should vote against Marine Le Pen. And anyone who doesn't say so becomes the devil. And that's terrible. Secondly, we've seen some completely absurd things. Like we see the fanes, so called feminists, attacking the only woman who has a real chance of becoming president, the first female President of the French Republic. I have a hard time with that. You know, a lot of people have a hard time with that. I never thought I'd live to see feminists attack a candidate who was going to become, or could become president. We see people supposedly from the far left, demonstrating for the arrival of the banking order in France. You know, I have to make an absolutely extraordinary effort to say these things because they seem so unnatural. But unfortunately, this is the reality we are living today. But this reality today is starting to strike a chord with more and more people. People are shocked to see this. People are experiencing a sort of virtual Macron presidency, and it might awaken something in them, and they will vote against him. Let me give you another idea that had crossed my mind, which is that Filint or someone else who is calling for a vote for Macron, does not have his votes. They do not have a ballot paper that they are going to go and dump at Macrons. Some of the people who voted for them may abstain. Some will vote for Macron, some will vote for Le Pen. So in a way, we are still. Perhaps, I say perhaps I am also trying. It would be difficult. I try to be optimistic. I tell myself that maybe it's not over yet, and that thanks to the arrogance, thanks to the indifference of the opposing camp, maybe things will happen, but we must not stop being mobilized. Of course, that's what I wanted to tell you. Just in parentheses, on the Brexit issue, there are people who write to me non stop about it. I can tell you that it's not a done deal at all. Because. Because the Prime Minister here, Thessame, did not have. Did not have a sufficient majority to be able to negotiate Brexit. Because what they told her here, the parliamentarians and others told her that in any case, whatever she negotiates with Europe, they will break everything here, that they will refuse, that they will block everything so as not to let Brexit move forward. So what did she do? She had no choice. She decided to call an election, an early election. Normally they should have taken place in 2020. She called them for June. And in fact these elections are turning into a second vote, a second Brexit referendum. Except that she forgot something. She thought that with these elections she would obtain an absolute majority that would allow her to carry out an aggressive and hard Brexit without having to compromise with the parties that are meeting here. And the reality is that since Brexit, the press has been working on the British for nine months. And what is happening is that if there is a referendum on Brexit tomorrow, I am not sure that it will pass. And I have the impression that this story of Thessa May, who called an early election, I have the impression that it will backfire on her. I have the feeling that she's going to find herself in an even more difficult situation than she was before. Anyway, there you have it, my friends. It's not the second round yet. And today, compared to this weekend when I was extremely disappointed. I still have faith and I hope that the next two weeks will change things. There you have it. Another announcement that I wanted to make to you. Be very careful regarding terrorism. It's going to be tough because Ramadan is approaching and starts in a month plus election period with all the cameras in the world focused on France. So really be very careful.
