Une histoire pour dormir : le porteur de lumière

This is a YouTube video titled "Une histoire pour dormir : le porteur de lumière" created on July 8, 2022. The content is a narrated story intended to help listeners relax and fall asleep. It tells a symbolic and open-ended tale of a young man on a spiritual pilgrimage to find a light that dispels darkness, encountering challenges, solitude, and ultimately a deeper understanding of his mission. The story is delivered by a single speaker and is designed to be soporific and reflective.
My friends, good evening. Many of you have written comments to tell me. I listen to your videos before going to sleep. Some people have told me, before going to bed, I put on my headphones, I listen to your videos, and then in the middle of them, sometimes I fall into a deep sleep. I don't know when it stopped. So I dedicate this video to you. It's a story that I'm going to tell you. The goal of the game is as start listening from the beginning, and then if you fall asleep in the middle, you start over the next day from the beginning and so on. And you tell me how many days it took you to get to the end. So once upon a time, there was a small village whose name has been lost. This story has been told many times. It has passed through various oral traditions. And as time went by, the details have been lost to fading memories. We do not know the name of this city. In this city, there was a young man. And this young man spent a lot of time thinking. He wanted to discover the secret of life. He wanted to access this light that alone is capable of dispelling the darkness and shadow that exists in the hearts of men. He spent a lot of time thinking about it and praying. Praying to the forces of the universe, praying to providence, to God himself, so that he would be given a test, so that he would give a fair test, so that he could measure himself against it and come out of it grown with a piece of light in his heart, knowing that only by going through tunnels and mountains and the indefinable test can one come out on the other side with the richness of soul that he wanted. So this young man listened. He heard a voice. He heard a voice that would advise him. This voice will tell him, listen, as long as you stay in your village, as long as you stay in your city, among your people, carrying houses that you know, streets that you know, you will not find this light that you are looking for. You will have to go towards this light. Quote so one morning, he decided to go on a pilgrimage. So he took a bundle, he put his things in it, and then he took a stick and he said to God, to his family, to his friends. And he began to walk along a path without knowing where it would lead him. He walked for several days. It is said that he walked for seven days. And that night he arrived at the bottom of a mountain. He had seen this mountain from afar, and it had always attracted his attention. He began to climb up one path at a time, a path that would take him higher and higher, through a kind of very dense mist, a kind of eternal cloud that had always hidden the summit of the mountain. When one looked at it from, they only saw the lower and upper parts. The peaks were not visible. You had to go there to see them. And at one point during his arduous walk, he emerged above the cloud. And at that moment he saw lights in the distance on the mountain. They were very interesting lights that caught his attention. There were several of them. They were evenly spaced. They couldn't be flames. They didn't glow like flames. They couldn't be house lights, like the lights you would see through a window. Because there were no houses, no living souls there. The place seemed extremely deserted. It was highly unlikely that there would be houses with inhabitants at the very top of these mountains. He decided to go and discover the secret of these lights. So he continued walking. And at one point he arrived at a high plateau. Then suddenly he came across cliffs. Very steep, vertical cliffs, very smooth. He even thought that not even a bird would find any roughness on its cliffs. To build its nest. Climbing was impossible. He began to walk along its cliffs in search of a place where he could climb. He walked for several days, it is said, for five days and five nights. Then on the morning of the fifth night, he discovered a roughness that he had almost missed in a cliff. And in this cliff, when he looked better, there was a path that led up this path. If he had not undertaken this walk, if he had not undertaken this climb towards the mountain, he would never have seen it. The path was hidden from the people who lived in the plains. The tops of the mountains were also hidden. Without this search, without having made the decision to go there, without knowing whether it would lead to anything or not, he would never have been able to. He would never have seen. He would never have come across this path. So he took this path and began. He struggled. To climb was even more difficult than anything he had ever experienced before. The higher he climbed, the colder it got. And the temperatures dropped very quickly. At first, when he started his walk, he was on dusty, almost deserted paths. When he reached the mountain, there was greenery and water. But this was different. This had changed. It was cold and there was ice snow, and he seemed to be approaching a glacier. He climbed this path for three days and three nights. And he arrived at the top of an extremely vast but cold plateau, where it was difficult. Eternal snow made walking very difficult. And then suddenly he saw the light. The light was now much closer, and he decided to walk towards it. He walked painfully until he came to an old man. There was an old man, a human form, who was leaning over there. He was a man with a white beard, and his right hand was leaning on a stick, on a sort of branch. This branch was so old that it looked like it came from the Tree of Life itself. In the other hand, which didn't tremble, the other hand that had enormous strength, he was holding a sort of lamp. He was holding a sort of lamp with a flame inside. And the young man, the young pilgrim, approached him. She looked at the old man, raised her eyes to him with infinite kindness. And the young man asked her, but who are you? What are you doing here? Quote and the old man smiled again with extraordinary kindness, and said to him, listen, my son. I am the guardian of the light. If you look at the other peaks around, there are others. You can count them. We are here. We are here, and we accompany humanity in the darkness of its ignorance. We have always been here. We are part of those benevolent forces that man often does not believe in. Man sometimes believes in the forces of evil, but he does not believe in the forces of good. He has lost the meaning of them. He is not alone. We are here. Some have venerated us. They have venerated us in various ways. Others have rejected us, mocked us, even used us as an insult. But we continue to love them. We continue to enlighten them and accompany them. We have always been here. We have been there. I was there when this mountain emerged from the Earth. I was there when this mountain rose from the chaos that was this earth. We have always accompanied humanity with our light. There was never a time when humanity was there and our lights were not. The young man found this testimony absolutely extraordinary. And one thing he ardently dreamed of at that moment was to hold on, to carry that light. He himself wanted to be among those who carry that light, to enlighten humanity. He said to the old man, but, Father, give me this lamp. Give me this light. I want to help youp today. I feel this courage, I feel this strength that tells me that I must and that I can carry this light to help others, to help my neighbor. The old man said to him, yes, but you have to know one thing. There will be no such deserts here. No one will see your reach. There will be no honor under the gaze of other men. There will be no privileges. There will be no rewards. You will not even be thanked. You are going to embark on a very difficult path, more difficult than the one you have traveled, that no one has traveled before you. It is a Very difficult path. Do you know what awaits you? The young man said, no, I know. I want to carry this light. Let me help you. I want to have this light in my hand. Quote the old man stood up and passed the light to him. The young man took it in his hands and then rested on the stone. He took a bag on his pilgrim's clapper and remained there in ecstasy, very proud today to have achieved this extraordinary goal of being one of those who illuminate humanity. Today he feels in complete ecstasy. The old man stood up and said to him, now I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave you. This light is there. I'm going to leave. He said, do you see those stars shining there? I'm going to go to those stars because I have other missions to accomplish. Since you want to help me, I have other things to do. Quote and he said to him, you see these stars that I'm going to go to represent so many unbroken pacts between the Creator and these creatures. Each one of them represents a new pact. Quote with that, the old man began to walk, walked, disappeared into the distance on the snow. And then suddenly, it seemed as if he had jumped into the void, as if he had jumped off the cliff. And then suddenly he rose into the sky and disappeared. And at that moment, it was as if the stars shone for a moment with more ardor and more intensity. Left alone in his joy of carrying this light, the young man began to realize how desolate this place was. He suddenly began to realize the weight of solitude, a precipitous solitude had fallen upon him. And then the noises began to come. The only noises that were around. There was no human noise. The noises that reached his ears were the howling of the wind, the cries of wolves in the distance. He heard these wolves howling to each other, and the howling echoed in the mountains. He also heard the creaking of glaciers, an ominous creaking of the ice. And then the days passed, the weeks, the months. And finally a lot of time passed. Even ages passed. Ages measured in death and birth. He had been there for many years. The ecstasy had gone, replaced by a boredom that made him feel like he was going mad. He wouldn't let go of the lamp. His arm was still strong. He was no longer strong. The lamp was there. He felt that this sacred mission he was on, he had to continue to carry it out at all costs. But it weighed on him. He felt like he was going mad. He was beginning to regret coming to the mountain. He was even beginning to regret coming into the world. He regretted. He regretted coming to this place, having had this idea, having asked for this mission, this mission that was too much for him. He realized the suffering. What is the immense suffering? What is the immense loneliness of someone who wants to save the world? And he began to pray, began to pray. He prayed for help to come, for something to come and save him from the unfortunate situation he was in. He just wanted human faces. He wanted to meet people. He wanted to meet his family, see people from his village, see friends, meet people. He wanted more light. Even the light that was shining in front of him, which had not dimmed, he saw less and less. He felt like it was fading in his eyes. He just wanted to leave. He prayed for a long time, for a very long time. And at one point, he believed that his prayer would never be answered. Until the day he saw a figure appear in the distance and approach him. Suddenly he recognized was the old man. It was the old man who had initially given him the light. The old man came towards him. He still looked at him with a big smile. And with infinite kindness, he said to him, my, my son, your prayer has been answered. Your prayer has resonated throughout the cosmos. The prayers of people who have compassion in their hearts resonate throughout the universe. And they are heard everywhere. And your prayer has been heard. And I came. I couldn't come any faster. But here I am. I am here. What's going on? You can't bring this light. The young man said, no, I failed. I'm sorry. He said to him, no. I congratulate you. I congratulate you for holding on for so long. I congratulate you for the success you had in your research, which in the coronation allowed you to approach, to hold this light for a very long time. But now I understand that you can't go any further. And the young man, who was younger already, who himself was bent over, he himself had a very long beard. He himself had failing eyesight. This young man told him, no, I want to go back. I want to go back home. It's too much for me. I can't carry this light. He gave it to the old man who took his place. And then this man continued walking towards his village. He didn't want to turn around, but at one point he did. He saw this old man leaning over his clapperboard on this branch of the Tree of Life with his arm, braving the night with this light. And continued on his way back to his home. He went down along the cliffs. He went down along the mountain. He took the Path back and he arrived at his village. When he arrived at the village, he found no one left. Neither his parents, nor his friends, nor the inhabitants. Everyone had either left, or the village itself was nothing more than ruins. A wall of stones, collapsed buildings, sections of walls through which trees or vegetation had already reclaimed their rights. He realized at this point that he could never return to his village, that this village was no more. No. He also realized that while his body was there, in the midst of the ruins of his past life, he realized that his soul had remained on the mountain to hold the light, and that he would never again find a way to return to where he was before, because this path probably no longer existed. So, moving away from these ruins, he walked with increasing difficulty. With age, he was weak. He walked along a dusty path and finally collapsed. He fell. He remained in this position for a long time. And then, at one point, a traveler was passing by. He stopped and came to help him. He lifted his head and gave him water. What the traveler saw was an old man, exhausted and dying at the side of a path. He gave him water. This old man drank this water. And then that gave him a little bit of energy. He opened his eyes, and then he asked this good Samaritan and said to him, look at the mountain. Look over there on the mountain. The Samaritan turned around. Smith started looking and said to him, do you see any lights? Count them. How many are there? There are seven. Look closely. The good Samaritan looked, and then he saw nothing at all. To him, it was just a dying old man who was delirious. And what he saw was just clouds. He didn't understand what he was talking about. He said to him, I. I can't see anything. Look closer. I can't see anything. I assure you, there's nothing. And with that, the old man began to slowly fade away. And as he faded away, he was overcome with immense joy. He said, this time I'm really going to come home. I'm really going to come back to where I came from. I'm going to carry the light. I'm going to come back to the light. And this time I won't falter. This time I'll be valiant, and I'll be with the light bearers for eternity. And I'll be part of those stars. There you have it. My friends, thank you for listening so far. I wish you a very good night. For those who can't sleep yet, it was deliberately soporific to help you relax and sleep. There's a lot of symbolism in this story, of course, but there's no symbolism. It's open. It's open to everyone. You'll find what you want in it. Everyone will find what they came looking for. Thank you, in any case, for following this far. And I wish you a very good and pleasant night, mister.
