Because ultimately at the Greatness Institute, we believe in the limitless nature of the human potential. And so we want you to operate at your best so you can produce your greatest that you are meant to do here in this earth. So enjoy the video. So I have been able to really work with a lot of executives, a lot of investors, a lot of surgeons, a lot of people from every walks of life, whether they're a student who just graduated or an entrepreneur who has nine figures on their balance sheet. And everyone gets anxious. So it doesn't matter where you're at or who you are or what level you're really at, you get anxious. And most of the time it's less to do with anxiety being the problem. Here's what I mean. Most people who take either antidepressant or anti anxiety medicine, sometimes they're still anxious or depressed. It's like, man, if everything was just physical, then shouldn't that take care of it? Here's the thing that I've learned is that those negative emotions are never the source of a problem. They're really just a response to a problem. I'm going to say that again. They're never really the source to a problem. They're actually the response to a problem. Like oftentimes we treat depression or anxiety as if that's the problem itself, as if that's the source of the problem, but it's not. It's actually what we do in our mind and our emotions that is the source. Because the body will always manifest with the mind or the heart gives it. The body will always manifest with the mind or the heart gives it. And usually when it comes to anxiety, it's usually because of one of three things. The first thing as far as a source for anxiety is, number one is you usually believe in impossible belief. An impossible belief. Okay, what do I mean by that? Okay, some of us are anxious in either a season of life or a certain situation because we have this impossible belief. Like everyone's Supposed to like me, or I'm not supposed to create any conflict ever, or everything I do should be met with perfect support and adoration, or I need to be so good that I make zero mistakes. My gosh. Of course you're anxious. Of course your body gets a shakes, or maybe you get nervous or you can't even talk straight because you literally have this impossible belief that you're believing. And usually those things don't serve us. If you ever want to look under the hood of what's really going on, remember your body will always manifest with your mind or your emotions. Give it. And so if you're anxious, anxiety is usually something of the mind. And so depression is usually an emotional thing. And so usually if I'm going to somebody who struggles with anxiety, I'm going to their mind. And so what are they doing with their mind? And the first place I go to is the belief. Like, what are they believing? That is probably impossible in this situation, man. Like, this strategy should have worked perfectly, and all of a sudden it's not. Or maybe you expect a keynote that you're supposed to do. I tell you what, sometimes I get a little nervous before I do keynotes. I've done six hour group workshops with companies and organizations, and I still get a little nervous, I still get a little anxious, but I'm like, okay, what's my. Do I have an impossible belief here? Am I believing that every single person in that room is supposed to like me? The entire group of 15 doctors or the entire group of 100 managers of this company? The entire. Like, I'm supposed to get 100% of them to like me. Me. Look, 8 billion people in the world, one person bound to not like you. Okay, so either way, when we see it, what oftentimes can allow us to feel less anxious is even acknowledging that belief. Because as soon as you bring it out into the dark, it's almost like, you know, kids being scared of a monster under their. Under. Under their, under their bed or in the closet. And as soon as you turn on the lights and you see, it'll be like, oh, that was it. That was just this little. This little teddy bear. All of a sudden, when you shed light on your beliefs, they become less scary. You're like, what? I can't believe I believe that. What in the world? What? Like I'm bad. I was supposed to be a millionaire in a year of my business. What? Like that's why I get anxious to even show up. Oh, my gosh. What I'm supposed to expect to be an Internet sensation overnight and be amazing on YouTube and be viral in one video. Oh my gosh, no wonder I get anxious to shoot this. Yes, you have an impossible belief. What in the world is wrong with you? Okay, so that's one. Okay. To help. That is put it to the light. Actually write it out and look at it and see it in the light. Second thing oftentimes we do that brings anxiety. Is, is we envision the negative future as now. Okay, I know I misspelled negative, okay, but we envision the negative future as now. So what we do in our brain, okay, here is we take this picture and all of a sudden, you know, doom and gloom. Like it's like. And it's horrible. And even if the thing is supposed to happen six months from now, the way our brains work, we see it as now, today. And so we get anxious. So, for example, even when I first started my business, okay, we were four months straight of living on food stamps, me and my wife. And so I said, you know, I need to start my business. This was about like three years ago. So I need to start my business, change everything, man. I've got 30 days. You know what? I had massive anxiety to do this. And I was like, no, why am I feeling this is because I was envisioning the 30 days deadline to pay rent as if it was today. But I was like, you know What? I've got 30 days and if I execute for at least 10 to 12 hours a day for the next 30 days, I will put 300 hours into this at the minimum. If I just focus on today and be here, not there, then you know what? The anxiety all of a sudden left and I was able to do $22,000 in my first month in business, which was incre. Life changing when you live in on food stamps. $22,000, okay? Life is different. But what helped me remove my anxiety was because I stopped thinking about what was happening. What was going to happen in 30 days of me having no money. It's like when we do this, we take our mind and we go to that future and we see it as if it's now. So we see the future with our current resources. That's sometimes what we do in anxiety. We see the future with our current resources. So we see the end of the 30 days for me, as if I had the same money in my bank account right now, which was $0, really negative, but it was $0. Okay? So I'm seeing 30 days with $0 right now, as if I had nothing happen and that's what caused anxiety. And the thing is about our brain is that our brain is probably one of is such a powerful thing, it doesn't know what the past, present or future is. The brain only knows what you give it. Which is why you can re envision a negative experience in the past and still feel it as if it's today. It's also why you can also see a future goal happen as if you're really fully associated in it and you get to live it as if it's right now. Because our brain doesn't know the difference between the past, present or the future. It only knows what you give it. And so when you give it a negative future, your brain is only going to see it as now. That's why oftentimes, sometimes we get anxious. Okay? So the way the antidote for that is to be here, not there. Like get in your body to hear right now. Don't be in your head being there. Be here, not there. Be here, not there, Be here, not there. Okay? And also sometimes it's easier said than done. We got more advanced things as far as like to advanced tactics to do that for coaching if you, if you want peak performance coaching, but be here, not there. And that's super helpful. Okay, Last thing, last thing that usually happens. Number three. Why we're anxious is because we're not good enough. Okay? We get anxious about a thing, we might see a negative result, a courageous conversation we have to have. Or maybe I'm about to speak at a keynote or, or like my first ever time I ever spoke in front of a crowd was 15 years old and I stared at my paper. I did a speech, I stared at my paper. I didn't look up once. I got one hand clap from somebody. Okay? 15 years old, spoke in front of people. Like I stared at my notes and didn't even look up once. Okay, you want to talk about how nervous I was? Of course I should have been anxious because I wasn't good enough. Of course, of course. Of course you're going to be anxious because you've never had a tough or courageous conversation like this before and you haven't gotten your reps in. Of course you're going to be anxious when you're making this big move because you guys have never done this big of a jump in your company or this big of a change in your culture. Of course that's going to happen. Of course you're going to be a little anxious. You've never done this before. That's okay. The Solution for this is to get your reps in. Of course you're going to be anxious when you're going to do your first surgery. Or of course you're going to be anxious when you're going to do your first speech. Of course you're going to be anxious when you're going to do your first sales call or cold call someone for the first time. I love doing that. But it's like, of course you're going to do that in your first coaching. My first coaching section with a true like seven figure client. Like they had seven figures in the, in the bank account. I was nervous. Oh, man. But I tell like and I said, christian, you're going to be anxious. But that's fine. That's okay. That means you're going to pay more attention to this because this is one of your first reps. And so if you're not good enough, that's okay. Put in the reps. And the more you do that, the more you get competent and the less and the more you get confident as a result. And that's okay. Anxiety is a response. It's not the source. Most people like, I need to fix my anxiety. Don't fix your anxiety. Look at these three areas. Do I have an impossible belief? I'm believing. Am I envisioning a future negative? A negative future as now? Yes. I have the thumbs up. Okay, wonderful. I'm not even going to edit that part out. I don't care. Okay. Or number three, have you not put in the reps? Have you not put in enough reps? And so when you do this, this is going to help you see, okay, what are the three sources? And here are the things I can do to shift this. And you'll see, anxiety will go away because your body will manifest what your mind or your heart gives it. Your body will always manifest what your mind or your heart gives it. And so shift things because anxiety is a mind thing. Shift your mind in these three areas by focusing on that. Okay, Christian Santiago, put share this like it and I'd love for you to subscribe.
