Halloween Costume Ideas Using AI
23 Oct 2024 · 3 min
A short podcast by Brittany Long demonstrating how to use ChatGPT to quickly generate at-home Halloween costumes (especially for kids) using household items. The episode guides listeners to gather preferences (character, style, existing clothing), query ChatGPT (including audio input), iterate on suggestions by confirming available items, and produce a usable costume plan in ~5–8 minutes. Intended audience: busy parents and entrepreneurs seeking time- and cost-saving costume solutions.

Guess what? Halloween's right around the corner. And if you have a lot on your plate, which I know as a mom and an entrepreneur, you likely do, you may have let that or Halloween may have snuck up on you. So don't Worry, I'm here. ChatGPT is here. We're gonna help you get through this with a costume in place. So first things first, let's just assume this is for your kid. If it's for you, that's awesome. But what you'll do is you'll ask the person whether it's you, your kid, whoever, what kind of costume they want. So you're gonna anything at all about the costume. If it's a character, my daughter loves Elsa for ex. If it's a character, you might want to say, okay, what style do we want it from? Just get as much information as possible. And then you're just going to put that into Chat GPT and you can even use the audio feature to talk it out loud while you two are talking about it so that you don't even have to type anything. And so once that's in there, the next thing you're going to do is say, this is the kind of costume I want. Need your help creating it from stuff we already have at home. Please come up with the costume idea based on normal household ingredients or normal household items and then press Enter. Once you press Enter, it's going to give you some ideas. As you see the ideas, you can say, great, we have this, we don't have this. Let it know anything that it's suggested that you don't have, and ask it to come up with alternatives. And by the end of this exercise, which should take no more than five to eight minutes, you're going to have costume idea that can work for you based on stuff you already have at home. So not only is this great if you're a high pinch and you're like, crap, I need to figure out what we're gonna have for our Halloween costumes. It's also great if you want to save some money on your Halloween costumes too. Alternatively, let's say that you want to start with like a base of something. So maybe you want to start with a dress that you got at Goodwill or something like that. Maybe you're going for some kind of princess look. You can tell it, you know, I have this particular dress that I want to use where I have this particular thing that I want to use. The rest of the stuff needs to come from my home, from stuff that people would typically have in their closet and then have it go from there. So you can give it as many instructions as you want as far as that goes, and then have it created for you. This is another example of how AI can save you time and just save you some of that mental energy. Don't necessarily need to spend a ton of time and energy coming up with a Halloween costume, unless that's your thing. Unless you really enjoy doing that. But if you don't, if you're like, oh, crap, I'm totally behind on things, I need to get this done, it doesn't feel exciting for you to come up with a bunch of different ideas and how you're going to make it happen, then this is a great way to use AI for amplifying your life, making it a little bit faster.
