You're on vacation, you have this amazing trip planned, and all of a sudden things change. Your toddler has a meltdown. The museum you've been looking forward to has unexpectedly closed for the day. That restaurant you are going to go to is completely full and you don't have reservation. There's lots of things that can go awry when it comes to going on vacation. And if you're not careful, you can come back from your vacation feeling way more exhausted than when you went into your vacation. And that's what we're talking about on this episode. We're going to cover what you can use ChatGPT for when you are actually on vacation and something goes awry. So I know not everybody's there yet, but I have to say that I go to now instead of Google has been ChatGPT. And I think that's going to happen more and more for people as they're using ChatGPT and Search GPT. I think we'll see Google taking a backseat and ChatGPT taking a front seat, which is an interesting change. But this is my thought process when I'm on a trip and something unexpected happens. So the first thing that I'll do is obviously when I get a moment to myself, I'll go, I'll pull out my phone and I'll be like, all right, chatgpt, this is what happened. This is where I'm stuck. This is where I'm not sure what to do next. What do you recommend? And also talk about what my goals are. So let's say it was that restaurant that closed. I really wanted to go to this restaurant. It was closed unexpectedly for some reason. And so what I might say is something like. And usually I'll use my same travel agent chat that I talked about in the last episode. I'll typically use that same chat so that it already has the information to pull from. And I don't have to start from scratch. So I'll be back in there and I'll be like, all right, you told me to go to this restaurant for this reason. It looks like this restaurant is unexpectedly closed today. What can I do instead? Or what should I do instead? My goal is X, Y and Z. So my goal is. Or what I really want is. Or my goal is to just eat something really quickly so we can go on to the next thing. Or my goal is to find something delicious that's also quick and close by as my kiddo's getting hungry. Or I'm getting. Or I'm getting hangry. Let's let's just be real. And from there, it can give us a few ideas of something else that might be open nearby. You can also use it if you run into unexpected difficulties on your travels. So, for example, I was hosting an event in Orlando this past year, and we walk into the hotel and the carpets in the rooms. I take off my shoes, take off my socks. I step on the carpet and it is wet, like squishy wet. And it had. I never knew that I could be so grossed out by that, but I was. And not only that, but the smell was overwhelming. They were cleaning the carpets. It was just a really poor experience. Addition to that, my AC in the room broke twice. And so I spent quite a few hours without AC in the middle of summer in Florida, as you can imagine, is not pleasant. And so those kind of situations, you can ask ChatGPT. Here's what happened. Here's what I think about it. How can I approach this situation? Is there anything that I can do? So in my example, for example, in my example, it could have suggested that I asked for another room, could have given me the wording on how to do that, because obviously I don't want to be a Karen, if your name's Karen, but don't want to, you know, don't want to, like, into a rage fit, which is not my personality. I wouldn't do that anyway. I also don't want to be a doormat, which is more of my. In the past, I've been kind of a pleaser. And so I want to make sure that if something like that happens where I'm like, I definitely don't want to keep staying in this room where the air conditioning keeps breaking. How can I address this without feeling bad, without sounding snobby or without in a situation that I don't want to be in. And so it can kind of help you figure out that wording so that it takes out some of the emotion of it I found to be very helpful. All right, so few things that might happen on your trip might be going throughout the itinerary and feeling like, hey, this is good. And then halfway through, think, this is not good. I'm so tired, I need a break. And so we can go to ChatGPT and say something like this. Uh, I want you to think like a travel agent who also has X amount of kids and who's an introvert and whatever else you want to qualify with. You've done this part of the itinerary so far, and it's been great, except now we're really tired. We don't want to waste of our vacation just staying in the room, napping or whatever. And maybe you love napping like I do, especially, you know, you're not expected to attend anything or be anywhere. If you're like, I don't want to nap during my vacation, then you might say something like, we want to do something restful. Not just nap in our room, but something that we can do that's very low key. That's great for will still allow us to see the area around us without ourselves out. And so it's going to give you some ideas for that. The main thing here is to tell it the outcome that you want and then it's going to give you ideas that match that outcome. So if you're not telling it the outcome, it's going to give you some general ideas. But if you get really specific about what's happening that you don't want versus the outcome you do want, it's going to get a little a lot more specific. All right, try it. On your next trip, pull out ChatGPT. Let it know how you're feeling. Oh, and if you didn't know this already, you can use the ChatGPT app too. You don't have to use just the desktop version. If you use a ChatGPT app, in the bottom right hand corner, there's these little headphones. You can click on those and actually talk back and forth with ChatGPT like it will audibly say the response out loud. I really like doing this as an external processor. This has helped me a lot. Either way, even if you're just typing it in, I mean that you can quickly pull out just like you would your phone. Ask it to kind of. You change things around until you get it exactly how you want. Sometimes a plan will look great before you're in it and then you get in it and you're like, okay, this isn't working for me and just grab ChatGPT out of there, your phone and go from there.
