How You Can Turn Your Podcast and YouTube Into Much More Content
14 Jun 2024 · 4 min
A short how-to podcast episode by Brittany Long explaining how creators can automate converting podcasts and YouTube videos into many other content pieces. She recommends a toolchain (Descript for transcripts; Zapier or Make to connect services; ChatGPT to generate content) and outlines a workflow: when Descript creates a transcript, trigger a Zap/Make flow that sends the transcript to ChatGPT to produce social posts, email copy, scripts for reels/TikTok, and more. She warns ChatGPT can struggle with full blog posts (prefers outline-first, section-by-section), emphasizes iterating on prompts/parameters so outputs match voice, and notes she offers a workshop and paid service to implement this.

If you are already creating podcasts, YouTube videos, this episode is for you. I'm going to show you how you can turn that into so much more content. Here we go. So the first thing you're going to need is either zapier or make, and you're going to want to connect that with ChatGPT, with your Google Sheets, and with something that creates your transcripts, like descript, for example. So basically, the flow, how it's going to go is that when a transcript is created in descript, so anytime you upload into descript, it automatically creates a transcript for you. So as soon as a transcript is created, that's going to send to ChatGPT, and you're going to ask it to use a transcript to create a ton of other content. Facebook posts, Instagram posts, LinkedIn articles, emails. I wouldn't use it for a blog post only because I have found that ChatGPT really struggles with creating a solid blog post. Typically, with blog posts, what I'll do is have it create the outline first and then do each section by section. That seems to work much, much better. So I wouldn't do a blog post for this particular workflow. You can pretty much create any other piece of content or. Yeah, so then it's. You'll do Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, email, Twitter, tweet or X. I don't even know what to say for that. And then you can do, for reels, you can do a real script or TikTok script, and then that's pretty much it. And so it's going to take your transcript. So it's going to take your words, your ideas, your thoughts that you've already created, and you're going. It's going to turn into a bunch of different pieces of content. Now, the tricky part is that if you just give it that and you're like, all right, create these things for me. It's not going to have enough information to make it exactly how you want. It's going to take some stuff from your transcript, but it's still going to sound very much like chat GPT. So we want to add in words for it to avoid. We want to give it some parameters. It's like if you were giving this kind of task to a human team member, you might have to give some parameters to them too. A parameter you might need to give them is, I don't want this to sound exactly like the transcript. Or you might say, I want you to add in this extra part here. So you'll still need to give them some parameters. Same thing with AI, you're going to need to give some parameters there too. And so typically what that means for me is when I'm in Zapier, I'm testing it out, looking at what I'm getting that I like and don't like, and then updating the, updating the instructions that I'm giving it in Zapier each step so that it can, I can test it again and I can see if we're getting closer. This whole iteration takes a little while. Once you get it going, it just makes it so much easier to create the kind of content that you want to get out and a lot faster. You may still need to make a few edits here and there, but because you're using your transcript, it's going to be a lot closer from the beginning than if you are doing it from scratch or just using ChatGPT and not giving any kind of extra instructions. And the fact that this all happens seamlessly, like within seconds of each other, you know, as soon as that transcript is created, everything else starts moving for you. And so even if you only use half of it, even if you only use one piece of it, it's still going to be a lot faster than doing all of that yourself. Now, if you want to learn how to do this in more depth, actually see me going through it step by step. I am doing a workshop for this. If you're listening to it later on in the year, you can watch the replay. Drop the link for that below. That is the content creation workshop. If you're someone that's like, would not want to do this myself, sounds like a nightmare, then reach out to me. Brittanypactdrivenai.com we do offer this as a service as well. I hope you're starting to see what's possible with AI, what's doable with AI, and I hope you're starting to use some of it. Even if you only listen to this once a week and implement one thing from each of these, you're still going to walk away having a more automated business, having a business that you can delegate more, having a business where it doesn't all rely on you. And that's really my goal with this podcast. I hope you've enjoyed this super short episode. My name is Brittany Long. I am the creator of this podcast, the creator of the Mom Entrepreneur or Mom Entrepreneurs using AI podcast. AI 200K. Talk to you soon.
