iRealization - Season 01 Episode 11
30 Jan 2026 · 54 min
A group podcast mixing personal updates with a philosophical dialogue on whether life resembles a dream, how memory works, and whether we perceive the present moment at all. Hey. Hi. Hey, good morning. How's it going?
Good, good. I slept a little late yesterday.
Wake up early. Good.
Hey.
Hey.
How are you?
Hey, sir.
Very good. How are you?
Hi. I'm well, thank you.
So what's new?
What's new? Oh, yeah, what's new? Yes, I actually, you know, it's. It's not a big thing, but it's a small thing. But I'm very particularly. I'm very proud of it. I moved my rooms, and I have a larger room now, so I decided that I should change my overall setup of how I put things. So from now on, every time I wake up, I wake up to this right in front of a large desk which has all the inspirational items that I have in my life. And it's like a big inspiration corner for me.
So every time I wake up, I.
Wake up to amazing stuff. I just click a photo and send it to you guys later.
I love, love to hear that smile. Like, that smile is enough to say that that's a fantastic thing in your life, and I'm happy for it.
Isn't it great just to wake up and, you know, just look at this is it. Yeah. This is fun. Ah. Otherwise, yes, everything is good. The fall is coming to an end. Winter is arriving, or has arrived. I haven't stepped my toes out of the window.
So what's new on your end?
I have gotten a phone call about my artwork. There's a. My qigong instructor has a friend with an art gallery who has shown interest in the canvas as well as the. As well as the beadwork. So I'll be. Yeah, I'm excited about that.
It's.
It was terrifying to hear that. At first I was like, wait, what? But it's. It's a potential door.
That's great. I actually was looking yesterday for what are the other places, apart from the United States that, you know, are worth living in? Just curious. I would say, you know, Canada is an option. I'd say New Zealand and some islands. There are some islands, you know, in the Caribbean and, like, places I heard that people are thinking about.
I'm considering getting a tent and just going and finding some woods. You know, it's.
That's.
I don't mind that idea at all. I don't mind. I don't even mind the actuality of it.
Are you inspired from into the Wild?
I don't see many movies at all, so I'm not familiar.
It's a story about a guy who has. Who literally has everything. Money, fame. He is a Scholar. He's from a well to do family and he just gets up and burns his car, burns all his money and starts on his journey of rebirth.
Doesn't he die like very soon? Doesn't he not make it okay?
Well, it's a true story and it's a beautiful story. And yeah, the climax is he finally dies. But he dies doing what he intended to do, right?
Well, I would not intend to die and I don't have anything that I would need to burn, which is fortunate. So really it would be quite an easy move. And here in Florida it's warm enough that I don't think I would starve or have to deal with bears. So honestly, it's not impossible.
But yeah, island, island idea is a great idea. You know, just pack some bags and leave. To an island.
I don't mean island like some like, you know, remote island with nothing. I mean, I mean like some small, you know, country. Island, island, country, island, nation.
The best part is when you have no bags, no bags to pack. You got like, just go, I'm it, let's do it.
Gotta pack a lot of bags.
So says you.
So ridiculous that. Yeah, the whole situation right now in the world.
Oh man, the whole world has just radically changed in 2020.
Yeah. Extraordinary.
And yet I would ask, you know, have. Have your individual lives changed significantly in, in many ways? You know, have you. Is it just a matter of like watching the world go through the changes or do you feel as if you've been impacted on a personal level?
Yeah, I mean, you know, I can see the changes affecting people. I can't say, you know, and it's affected me personally only because I wasn't working anywhere anyways, I was doing something on my own. But otherwise I would say people have. I mean, the tech hasn't suffered. Right. Tech has done really well. But even tech has had some changes. But I'd say the problem is not tech. The problem is everything else.
I guess somewhere the problem is perspective. But yeah, you cannot say that things have not been impacted.
Well, no, I certainly wouldn't. Wouldn't imagine that that is the case at all. Rather, I was simply thinking that it wasn't unusual. To me, this has been this state of affairs for about three years for myself in that the uncertainty, it sounds like, oh, this is very normal. This feels quite familiar.
Happy that everybody is with you now.
No, no, no. I would never want that for anyone else ever. But I have been finding more of an internal stability that allows for less personal impact despite anything that's happening.
Around me.
That. That makes a big difference.
I had kind of a rough start in when this COVID lockdown began, but luckily on the brighter side, that I was applying for this permanent residency in Canada, so I was actually rushing through it. I don't know why, I did not have any reason to, but I was just rushing through it. And then Covid happened. Suddenly on March 3rd, I was on this US border doing my PR thing.
Done.
And it got approved. And immediately, two days later, Canada announced a complete and total lockdown of all the airports and everything, and everything just slowed down. So if I was just two days late to do that, I would be. I don't know. I don't know where I would be. So. Yeah. But then my immediate next plan was I was giving interviews since December, so I was being called for interviews and I had already given three interviews and everything stopped. Right. Every person went into a very defensive phase. So the later rounds were cancelled, new interviews were cancelled, and everything just went to a standstill. So, yeah, that slowed down and increased the uncertainty of things a lot.
Yeah. I've been through the same kind of lucky breaks to get it to get, you know, through the US Immigration, as you know, it's a bloody light nightmare. Somehow there was some magic that happened in 2000, like seven or something, where for a brief window for no explanation whatsoever. Get this. You know how there's these long lines for green cards and in the us, like, super long lines, you know, years long.
Yeah, yeah.
Like waiting forever. Yeah, People are waiting. I was expecting. Yeah, my application went in like 25, 2005, you know, like Jan. And we were, well, expecting it to be like, you know, four or five years long wait. Right. And it can keep getting delayed. Like right now the wait is like 50 years or something. 20, 30 years. Because of this Covid thing, it's really become like, basically impossible. And thanks to Trump. But suddenly in 2007, like July or something, I remember we just like. You know how people watch those statuses, you know, every month there used to be like an update from the USCIS regarding these waiting lines. And suddenly it came that there's a. It's like current, the dates are all open. Suddenly it's. Everyone's about to become current and we're like, what? Like, just like that. Okay. And so, like, for two months or something like that, it was open, and then it went back to being the way it was. Can you believe it? Like, just like that, two months in the middle. No reason. Okay. So, like, a lot of people applied, including Me. And then we just got through it. Right.
Wow.
There was no reason at all, like. Like, just none, you know, and the same thing happened when, you know, I was originally applying to get to the U.S. you know, to get a visa and stuff. I have never visited a US Consulate or an embassy in my life, which is really strange because everyone else has gone. Multiple brothers gone, like five times. Because each time it's like visa thing is to go back and then go to the thing, you know, all that stuff. So somehow they. They applied for me when I was in, you know, my first job in India. Like, the office applied and they just did it through mail. They dropped it in May 2003 after the 2011. There was a brief period where the Dropbox was operating. Okay. So they just mailed it in, and I got my visa in the mail, like, for six years.
Oh, wow.
That's bizarre. Okay. H1B. Okay.
I just want to know who. Who's going to switch places with me. Is there someone in India who just wants to, like, just.
Let's. Let's just switch.
Like, let's flip. I'll go. You come.
You don't have to split. No, you can just go. You don't have to have somebody come in here. Yeah. But anyway, I just wanted to share. Like, that was like a. One of those strange, lucky streaks that, you know, seem to, like, happen. You know, people often talk about how the immigration is this, that and all that, even. Even with H1B, with tech workers, you know, and I literally, you know, sometimes have to be honest and, you know, obviously grateful that I've literally never visited a consulate in my life or an embassy, American embassy, for a visa. So very, very interesting and odd. But, you know, that does happen, too.
Things just worked out. Yeah.
It's just luck, you see. So the whole thing is all about, like, there's no logic anywhere, you see, it just happens.
Yeah.
So that's. That's the thing. There's no logic. So if you. The logic part comes from the mind and of causation, you know, cause and effect. Cause and effect is logic. One expects to have cause and effect, you know.
Unnecessary.
I'm. I'm letting in my cousin sister, Tanya. She's joining this call. First time ever. She doesn't know what she's getting into. Yeah, she doesn't know. But anyway, that's what I was saying earlier, which is that you expect something, like, logical to happen. Like, this is what I plan. That's what's happening. Like, this is how it works. That's based on logic and rational thought. You know, cause and effect. Right. Like this happened. Therefore this will happen. But as we have talked about it before, right. Where. Where is cause and effect? Which one comes first? Does cause come first or is the.
Effect things are just happening.
To think.
That you made it happen?
No, the effect happens and then the cause is imagined.
Yeah.
The present dictates made it happen or. Yeah. So whether you made it happen or somebody else made it happen or whatever the. You know, what do you call it? The rationalization is. It is based on the rationalization.
Hi, Tanya.
Hey, Tanya.
Hi.
Glad to have you.
Yeah, yeah, glad to be a part of this meeting. I joined late. Sorry about that.
I saw them.
They were busy bragging about their good luck. So you've missed nothing.
Well, good and bad luck. So mixed bag.
Yeah, that's correct.
Where are you from right now? Is it morning or is it night? Wherever you are, It's.
It's night. It's night. Nine o'. Clock. Nine pm.
So you're in India?
I'm from India. Chennai.
Oh, nice. Chennai.
Yeah.
Been there like twice.
Sorry?
I've been there like twice. That's all.
That's.
That's my entire experience about Chennai.
You have been to Chennai? How did you like?
Was good. I was actually visiting a friend in the Navy who was going through an IT course in the Chennai iit So we were quite close to the campus and for five, six days we were just roaming Chennai and we were just having fun in the IIT and their IIT is so beautiful.
It.
It's basically like a national park.
Yes.
So that was fun.
Yeah. Yeah. You would have seen lot of deers. Like they're close to thousand deers. Yeah, all variants.
And also I was. I. I am from. Originally from Mumbai. Right. So I'm from the west coast. So me and my Mumbai friends were also there. So we were like, hey, let's go to the beach and see the sunset. So we all headed for the beach, for the marina beach. And there were like fish sticks and stuff. And then we realized that this is not sunset. Sunset is happening on the other side. So you guys are facing the east, right? Facing the the east, yeah. So you have sunrise on the beach, not the sunset. So I was like, oh, bugger.
So yeah, you should have gone to private beach. Like you'd have a better experience there. Next time you come down, I would suggest you try a private beach. You will have your privacy and you can enjoy it better. It'll be cleaner.
Yeah, noted, noted. I'll do that next time.
Yeah, sure. Okay.
So. All right, guys, continue.
What is the. What is your. You know, you joined this call. Any idea what it's about?
Yeah, it's about. It's about realizing that everything is a dream and we have to move on with whatever has happened in the past and just be with what is, you know, we should just concentrate on what is happening right now.
Other than what is happening right now. What else is happening?
What else is happening?
Is it possible to concentrate on anything other than what's happening right now?
Yeah, your mind will go everywhere. But we should control it. We should just concentrate on what we have to do. That's it.
I like this girl.
I've already been to tutored, so. Yeah.
So it's very simple, isn't it?
Yes, it is. No, actually, after talking to you about this, I was able to overcome 90% of my fears. Because mostly fears are related to future. Like for example, we can't. We don't have control. We might feel that if I do good, it I'll get good results or something like that. If. If I'm investing my energy, I should get something. So those thoughts were wiped off after I spoke with you that day. And I was more confident because. Because then I was. There was no fear of losing anything or, you know, not getting what I thought. I was just. Was like, okay, no problem. I was free. Burden was gone.
Very good. That's because you're very smart, very intelligent. See, this is very simple. Intelligence is required to see that intelligence remains as intelligence and nothing else ever happens.
Yeah.
Everything else is an imagination.
Correct. Yeah. Once you, I mean, once you start believing in it, everything becomes very simple. That's what I have.
It's not belief. You have to see that. It's that there's a difference in belief versus the actual experience of it. Where the belief is no longer operating because you're seeing it.
Yes. Correct.
Belief is needed. If you don't know, you know, then you say, oh, this is what it is, and I have faith. And it is like that. And all that. What we are saying is it is not like anything. There is no faith required to see that any idea about it is an idea. It's obvious. Right. Any idea has to come from somewhere.
Yes, that's true.
So where does any idea come from?
Comes from within.
There is no within or without. There is no within or without. Right. Because the whole thing is a single universe.
Yeah.
So the whole question of inside and outside doesn't arise.
Yes.
So where does it come from? You know.
Silence.
Silence. But what is that silence? Because silence is the absence of anything. So where does anything come from? It comes from that silence. But that silence is what you call the past.
Yeah, that's correct.
So only the past can give you ideas about the future. Because otherwise you will have no way to think about the future without having concepts of the past. And so the future is projected through the concepts of the past. Therefore, you're not actually thinking about the future, you're actually thinking about the past.
Not thinking is. Is a great place to start. It's kind of where I sit.
Right. So the question of not thinking or thinking brings in the question of the who is it that is going to either think or not think?
Exactly.
Even if you're not thinking, who is it that is not thinking? The one that does not think is again, the same thing. No. So thought itself has to be seen as thought. That's all.
Agreed.
It doesn't have to be stopping or not stopping or whatever thought is thought. That's all. Where is the confusion? The issue is when thought becomes the actual knowledge in the moment, which takes one away from the intelligence factor. Otherwise, everything is right there, you know? You understand?
Oh, absolutely. I was simply describing.
Yes.
Yeah.
Tanya, you got that?
Yes, I do. But it's difficult to practice.
Because the one who practices it. Who is that one?
That's me.
How do you know? Yeah, how do you know who you are? If I say I'm Tanya, what does that mean?
I'm an entity. I belong to this universe.
Right? And who is that? I, Tanya, that entity, who is that? Is it your body? No, no. Your body is there. No, you're. You're saying that your body is Tanya, right? You're. You're the individual entity named Tanya. That's a reference to your personal self, right? Your person, in fact. My person. You say my person. Don't touch my person. You know, stay away from my person. My personal space.
Yes, right.
That means it's about your person, your individual body and person. And then the associations with that. And those associations are made in the mind, right? So you say, Ayun, Tanya, who is a collection of all your past experiences and beliefs and memories and all that, is it not? If you lose your memory, will you still be Tanya?
No.
That'S a question you have to answer for yourself without answering it. What exactly is Tanya? Will you not be. You see, this is a very important question. If you lose your memory, will I still not be me? Do I need my memory to know who I am? Or is it just Memory.
No, I'll be myself. It's just that everything.
Right. So isn't that not the same situation in dreams and in waking where the whole universe is different each time?
Pretty related. Yes.
It is directly the same thing. It is not related. You have to see what it is. If you see directly what it is, it's the same thing. But if you see it through some ideas. Oh, this is called dreaming. That is called waking. There is the difference which you have created, which you don't know either one actually, but you claim to know it. And now you're categorizing these truths as, oh, yeah, that is sleep. That is this. And you say, okay, okay, I got it. You got nothing. All ideas. Yeah, because the very fact about, you know, waking and sleeping and dreaming is unclear.
Yeah. It's all what we have planned into.
It's called information. So when the sleep comes and all the world disappears, do you disappear? No, but everything was gone. And then you come back to this universe and say, oh, I had a very nice experience of sleeping blissfully unaware. So what is that bliss in which there is nothing. That has to be seen? What is it that gives you, you know, happiness or what you call joy? What is that? How come certain things give you joy and other things don't? How come. What exactly is the cause of pleasure and pain? You know, what is it? These things, and once you begin to explore them, then they lose their significance. Because it is just what people call it. Oh, I'm very happy because this happened. What about it? It's something that's not passing phenomena. It has no bearing on reality. Something. Like we said, the car accident occurred. Oh, a lot of stuff. Actually, nothing happened. We discussed this many times. So if you can realize that there's no need to get upset. You also realize that there is no need to feel joy. Both of them are disturbances from my natural state, which is a neutral state of all seeing. Calm, peaceful stillness. It is just pure awareness and intelligence. But the memory comes and says, oh, look, I got this. I got that. Now I will get this. Now I will become like that. It is not real. All thoughts only. No.
Yes.
So where is the question of happiness and unhappiness and all that? Simply, it is happening. Something is happening. What kind of reaction shall I have? For it cannot have any reaction. It is meaningless. Shadow. If you see the shadow of your own self, you get scared of it. If you don't know what it is, then you will say, it is doing this. It is chasing me, you know, wherever I go. It's there. I can never get rid of it. What is this? What do I do? You try to bury it, you know. You know, dig a hole, you cover it up. Never goes away because there is no need for it to go away. It has no existence of its own. So to chase away the shadow, what do you have to do? You just turn away. That's all finished. So the whole dream and waking states, these are like shadow states. Otherwise there is perfect awareness and perfect stillness and nothing changes, nothing disturbs one's natural state. There is no conflict in that state. There is no thoughts in that state because there is no reaction there. Thought is a reaction, you know, You think because you react. Otherwise what is that? A thing? So that's all. There is no ever need for any reaction. And you're left with yourself. You remain as yourself. There is only the same self. Nothing other than the self exists. And any other thought creates the fear factor. Any thought, all thought is fear only what is there to think, You know? So this is called freedom from thought and freedom from fear. Both are same. Because if you're not fearful, why, you will think you're always at peace, whatever happens. Nothing is happening. You're never fearful. That's it. That's freedom. In actuality, you know, this is not in words. This is not. This cannot. You cannot practice this. You can only realize this. If you practice it, then it will be a whole suffering for you because you are trying to be unnatural. Otherwise the natural state is there. And in that natural state everything is effortless because there is nothing happening there. So you know, you mentioned the ant families and all that. It's crawling up, you know, creating so many things on top of what we are doing at work. But think about it. Our ragtag band of revolutionaries all over the world, hardly a few people, we are doing something which is impossible. Most people, I guarantee you, and I know this for a fact. If I would have gone to somebody last year and said, hey, I have an idea. Let's rewire the Internet like Sam will and appreciate as well if I. If he's been working on it. So imagine that you go to somebody and say, hey, let's take on Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, DoorDash, Uber, just about every big tech company out there. Let's take them all on. Let's take on the entire Internet. What will they say?
There will be problems. Whatever it is, so many things, they.
Will not believe it. So there is no need to tell them anything. You see, Right? You simply give actions that people can focus on. They do it, that's it. There's no need to know that you're attempting something which your own mind will create problems for you.
Yeah.
You know, it's like that goodwill hunting kind of picture, you know, that deliver problem very difficult on the board. This janitor comes along, he doesn't know that it's an impossible problem. He doesn't know it, therefore he solves it. Because he didn't know that it was impossible, you know, so he just assumed it's a normal problem and normal thought will apply. And obviously all thought is thought only, including, oh, this is an impossible problem. Right. So the thing is we limit ourselves. Even the slightest negative thought is a thought. Even the slightest positive thought is a thought. It is both ways. This is why it's difficult. Because many people are happy when they're happy. You know, when you're sad, it's easy to realize all these things. Oh yeah, and all that. But the minute something so called good happens, you forget everything. But you have to be very attentive. This is all about awareness. You have to be attentive and alert to your own goings on. So you can see how reaction happens. The whole quest, you know, is to go from what is called as no freedom to freedom. You see, and these words have many multidimensional meanings. We already discussed one aspect of freedom. The other aspect of freedom is free will. And people talk about free will. And on this call we have talked about free will quite a bit. You see, reaction is not free will. If you react, would you consider that to be free will? Because reaction is based on the past, you know.
Yeah.
So there is no free will there. Your past is controlling you. Even if I say I will let you, I will forgive you, that has no meaning because you're operating on the past like something happened and then you're going to forgive the person. Right. So the whole thing is a problem. You see.
It's.
In our discussions, in these weekly calls, we, you know, essentially skip over the whole meditation thing. You know, people come and ask about that sometimes and we simply quickly explain that meditation is simply the space between thoughts. So you can find that space. You know, how do you know that one thought has ended and another thought has begun? You are aware of this. Therefore, there is a transition between the first thought and the second thought, where you know that the first one ended and the second one began, and you know that the first one ended and before the second one began. This information is known to you. And therefore between the two thoughts there is something there. What is that Information that has the ending of other information. And if the information does end, then where does the next one start from? Or where did the previous one come from? Right. And now you know that it's coming from the past. And where is the past? Not memory. Everything you see is the past. When I look into the sky at night and I see a light year 10 light years away, I see a star. The light that I'm seeing, am I seeing that star as it is now or am I seeing the star 10 years ago? I'm seeing it 10 years ago, right? Yep. That means that that star that I'm looking at is the past. It's not the current situation. Is this clear?
Yes.
Ten years have gone by since I'm looking at it now versus something happened there. Therefore, same thing is true. If I see something from a distance, from here, if I look into a telescope and I look in Delhi, what is happening? It's probably a few second, two seconds, one second delayed.
Correct.
If I look at you and I speak to you and you respond your response and I perceiving, is a microsecond or nanosecond or a billionth of a nanosecond delayed. So what you see is the past only, is it not? Everything is the past, even if it is a microsecond old. You cannot see the present, you know, you cannot see the future, you cannot see the present. You can only imagine the past, Is it not? Because if you cannot see the present, then how can you see the past? This is a very simple question. Future cannot be seen. Present has no meaning because it's not happened yet. Therefore nothing to see. Therefore what is it that we see only the past? Then we imagine the past to be real and then we operate based on it. Has this point become clear? So when I say where is past? The answer is what? Answer is everything is the past. Only. Which one is not past, Not just.
The past, but a feedback. Limited sense, limited senses.
The senses actually are not sensing, they are actually projecting. It's an inversion. If you dream where you suddenly touch the fire and it's hot, it is not that the senses were touching something hot and you were getting the signal. That's not the situation. It's the opposite. It's pretending or creating everything there. It's projecting the hotness, it's projecting the thing. And that projection is felt and sensed through the sensory channels. This is accurate. This is what happens in dream, right? And same thing happens here. Because what you see outside, like a tree or whatever object, however it is really you don't know. What you know is how it appears in your mind after the light and everything goes through your camera eyes and then it read re renders it see, get eyes, get the lights, the sound comes from the ear and all these things together get mixed into the complete visualization or projection of the world that you see. The eye doesn't know what it's seeing. You know, it sees some green stuff, it has no idea what it is. You say leaves, but the leaves naming comes from where it requires memory.
Yep.
For you to say this is a leaf. Right. So in the dream when you go and say this is a leaf, is it not that you already had projected that? In other words, if you see your favorite uncle in the dream and you have a long conversation, oh, this person, where is that information? Is it not your own projection? So how do you know he's your uncle in the dream and all the history that happened, etc, etc, all that is imagined by you and then you say, I am this person that is my favorite uncle. And when you see that image, you get all the feelings of, you know, oh, my uncle is here and all that. Which means what? Without you knowing that it's your uncle, you cannot see him. Therefore, which came first, the knowledge of the uncle or the uncle? Certainly in the dream state, you know for a fact that the uncle did not come first. In fact, nothing ever came there. So it is obvious that everything is a projection. So if you investigate this, then you it resolves itself because the information of what it is is there, it's there. No, the whole thing is, You got it. So you can tap into the reality of it, because the reality of it is evident. It is right there. There is no need to ask anybody. It.
I was just reading a thought one day recently about even the colors that we see. So it's not. It's the surface of a material that decides how much light to absorb, how much light to reflect. And whatever light is reflected and not kept from the object is what we identify as something as red, something as green, something as blue. So that's how limited and outdated our senses are. Which just proves that the reality that we suggest to ourselves in front of us is just a limited projection of a limited sensory perception.
That's right. Even the color green is only a agreement. You know, we both say this shade of whatever it is that I see and that you see, it could be different things, but we agree that it's green. So the whole labeling process, name and form, is a very personal thing that we assume is Common, but it's not. It's just a common shared naming and forming that allows us to communicate our internal understanding using words and hope that somebody else catches on. Right. There's no other way because there is no meaning in any word as such.
Yep.
Right.
In fact, there was this experiment. I don't know what the experiment is technically called, but there were two rooms. One was painted orange, one was painted completely blue. Basically cool scheme, cool color scheme and warm colors. And a set of candidates were taken to the. Taken to each room, turn by turn. The temperatures of each rooms were calculated and they were all to be kept as equal. After each candidate visited two rooms, one by one, they were asked that the. During which room did you feel warm in? And almost everyone said that the orange room was warmer than the blue room because it was. And then they were told that the temperature in both of the rooms were actually the same. There's not even a difference of a degree at all, but it's just the colors that you associated a temperature with. So that's how real we, you know, take reality in.
The whole thing is a dream. That's all. Once you see this for as a fact, all other, you know, kind of thinking and everything else ends. It's a straightforward thing. Everybody sees dreams. Where is the proof that this is not a dream? You see, Very simple, just that you have to see it clearly. Understand the difference what you call dreaming and what you call reality. You have to examine that and understand those words. What is it that they actually mean?
I guess most people are confused with the. With the thought of if this is not real, then you have. Have to disassociate yourself from everything. So it's. It's not that, you know, but they don't.
No, no. It is not that you have to dissociate yourself from everything. You don't. You cannot dissociate. No, no. So it is not a question of you have to dissociate.
That is a misconception that people have that once you. Once someone says that this is not reason, that means you should be disassociating yourself. That's not the thing you can still be about dissociation.
Dissociation happens. You cannot do it. And in that dissociation, the most creative work is done. But people don't know what it is to dissociate. When you say you must renunciate something, people think they have to give up all their worldly possessions, whereas the dissociation is not of worldly possessions, which are imaginary objects that don't exist. You cannot give up something that is imaginary. You have to give up something that is actually real. Right. You can only give up something which is there. You cannot give up something that was never there.
No.
So what is it that has to be given up? It's not the things, things who are never there.
Of the memory.
You know, memory is there. There is no problem with memory. If you need to know how to drive a car or where you live. That is a fact of memory.
The knowledge that you bring in with the memory. For example, if I say that, hey, you are giving me an assignment to build of this new marketplace. And if I say that, oh yes, how can I do this as a graphic designer?
That is it.
That is where I brought knowledge in and I just limited myself in.
Right.
And if I just disassociated from me myself from that me that I have created from knowledge, the possibility of great ideas is actually limitless.
That's right. So that's it. That's the fundamental thing. So if you look at it as memory containing factual and technical information, there is no problem. You need to know where you live. You need to know how to drive a car and all those things. There's no problem. Those are. Nobody's arguing about those things. But what arguments begin are the projections of this memory. Memory says I will not be able to do it. I will be able to do it. This is based on a past idea and an expectation of a future which is also based on the past and is not factual. Right. So facts are not a problem.
Facts are not a problem.
Memory by itself is only a faculty. It's a machine. It's just a way to store something. So you may need to store something. There is no harm in it. It's happening. But what happens between the storing and the next step is the reaction based on that storage. Whereas that storage is only a factual storage. It has no basis of anything.
Yeah, exactly. It's just a bunch of rooms.
So there is no need to get attached and connected to it in any way. And to become that instead of that remain as yourself.
Yep.
And that word self becomes clear. What is that self? Who am I? Definitely not Tanya. Definitely not this body. Definitely not these thoughts which have only to do with the past. Definitely not this universe which has only appeared in this waking state and it disappears in every few hours. Definitely not the other states which appear and disappear. Different dream states. Definitely none of those. I say I'm here, but I only say it during the conscious state. If I'm not conscious I don't say it yet I'm there.
Yet I'm there.
Is it not a fact when I say I lost consciousness, I gained consciousness. So consciousness comes and goes. Conscious states are those coming and going of consciousness. But whether it comes and goes, am I not there?
Still there?
So what is that I. Once it becomes very, very clear, there can never be any.
Part of the whole and the whole.
Itself, there is no part of the whole. The minute you say whole, that becomes a part of the whole. There is no. If you don't, there is no need to say whole, because if you say whole, that is a limit. You see, there is no whole. It is infinite. Infinite, eternal. It is timeless and spaceless. You know, it's beyond all dimensions. And it cannot be constrained by words. It cannot be defined by words. It cannot be touched by anything whatsoever because all things arise from it and disappear back into it. So that's it, guys, for this week.
Yep. Something to think about for both of us.
