Does G-d Control Our Feelings? (With Current Events)

A rabbi explores whether God controls our emotions, using the Chazon Ish's story of counseling Holocaust survivors and Jacob's family dynamics to argue that feelings come from upbringing and perception, not divine control. He warns against displaying wealth, links antisemitism to divine warning, and urges Torah study and charity over material possessions.

Dov, Baruch Hashem, One announcement: next Monday there's no lecture. Please don't forget, I'm going to LA on Thursday until Monday night. So next Monday, please, over here no lecture. I'll speak tomorrow in Brooklyn and following Tuesday also in Brooklyn. But next Monday no lecture. Last week on Tuesday when we spoke, when I spoke in Brooklyn, We spoke about the vote in the Senate to legalize gay marriage in America. If you remember, they passed the law, 2/3 against 1/3. And I read on Tuesday what happened in the world when things like this happen, when abomination spreads and they legalize abomination. To become the law of the land, it makes Hashem very angry. When Hashem angry, one of the symptoms is earthquakes and volcanoes. That's what the Midrash say about the pasuk in Tehillim. If you remember, I read it last Tuesday. So as I speak, one of the people in the audience told me, "Oh, there was just a volcano in Hawaii." that exploded. And then when I went home, I went to check what was he talking about. I actually found out that two volcanoes exploded in Hawaii, and this is extremely rare. One, it may happen, but two at the same week? It's hardly ever happened such a thing right here in America. They have to evacuate thousands of people from their homes. But that's just the beginning. The worst is going to get here. The worst natural disaster is going to come here. More hurricanes, more tornadoes. Who knows what's next? You don't know what's next. They say that North Korea has nuclear— this everybody knows— but now they have missiles that can actually arrive to every location in United States. And I don't have to tell you that the leader over there is not 100% normal. I hope he won't hear this lecture. Dangerous person, very dangerous. His own brother or sister he killed because they didn't do what he wanted. Those are crazy people. In Israel, there's still no government. Netanyahu is going to need an extension. He never dreamed in his biggest nightmare that after he finally won the election with 64 members of the government are all ready, he will have such a hard time forming a government. The reason why he cannot form a government is because the religious people such as Smotrich, Ben-Gvir, Avi Maoz, Shas, Gimmel, all the 5 parties that are going with him together, which together there are 30 seats in the government. Baruch Hashem finally became wise after decades that he took advantage on the religious people, and they disagree to sign the coalition agreement until he commits to all our demands. And he's afraid to sign. Why? Because he himself is a lefty, he's not a righty. He himself is 50/50, 50% righty, 50% lefty. So he's the— we have a saying in Hebrew, "Ilya ve'kotzba." You know what's "Ilya ve'kotzba"? Ilya, it's the best part of the animal. When you have a cow, the stomach is full of good delicious fat. It's so soft and delicious. You put it on the grill, it melts in your mouth. But sometimes when the animal roll on the grass, thorns can go in. One thorn stuck inside, it mess up the entire perfect piece of that meat. Meaning, it's like you buy a $20,000 wall unit and it comes with a scratch. Tiny scratch, but and mess up the whole thing. He is the scratch in this government, Netanyahu. Everybody else is good, righty. He is the only one that is an obstacle. And he's always afraid what the media is going to say. Very, very— he's a politician, 100% a politician. And that's why it's a big problem, because he doesn't want to give us the power to clean Israel from all the illegal building of these Arabs, to destroy the biggest enemy of the Jewish nation, which is the Israeli Supreme Court, who's nothing he hates more than Hashem and the Torah. There's nothing they hate more, and there's nothing they love more than Arab terrorists. They've been proving it for the last 40 years. Every one of their votes from the time of Rav Shach, ala vashalom, I saw in a book of Rav Shach from 40 years ago that they told him that this— there is an argument that will end in the Supreme Court. And Rav Shach said, oy vey, or like they say, oh boy. We never saw any positive thing coming from them towards Judaism. This was 40 years ago, and today it's even 10 times worse. So he doesn't want the religion to overcome these wicked people. These wicked judges. One of the things we demand is that the court will not choose the new judges, because they always choose lefty friends, that the government will choose the judges. Take righties, just like Trump did in the Supreme Court. He put 2 or 3 conservative judges, which helps America very much now. They automatically bring their friends in, like a mafia. If a lefty is retired and one of them is about to retire, right away they want to bring another lefty. Shem Reshaim Irkav. Those are the biggest enemies of Judaism, these wicked judges. In Sodom there were better judges than those judges. Everything that it comes to Judaism, automatically, without even reading what is it about, they're always against the Torah. Always. Never ever they chose Judaism. Never. That's how much they're allergic to the Torah. So he's afraid to be memorized in history as the Prime Minister who eliminated those judges or the Supreme Court. He's afraid to be the one who started fights with those Arabs who took over two-thirds of Israel illegally. They just build everywhere they want. He's afraid. You need an open-heart surgery to save Israel because in one One decade from now, 10 years from now, Israel is destroyed, finished. It's not going to be Israel. He doesn't get it. If you're not going to do an open-heart surgery right now, the patients will die. That will be too late already. Now it's the last chance to save Israel from losing it. And he doesn't want. And that's where the fight is. Fights, constant fight. He agreed to double the money for the yeshivot. He doesn't care. It's only money. Let them get a little more money. Many of the things he agrees, but some of the most important things he still disagrees. And he's afraid. I'll give you one example. There is one national religious man. His name is Avi Maoz. He was an officer in the Israeli Army in the Lebanon War. A hero. You know, the Zionist religious people, they go to the army. Unlike the Haredim who are avoiding the army because it's very, very not modest place for religious people. The Datim Leumim, what we call Niddei Diamaka, Kipots Rugot, they go to the army. It's one of their main thing. Many of them are generals in the army because they are people with high value. They have Torah. And education, and they are very good for the army because look at the generation of the secular people today. They can barely speak Hebrew, not to talk about write. Those are intelligent people. Automatically they become generals. This Avi Maoz is a very religious person. So immediately when he went to get elected to the Knesset, he told his voters 'I am going to fight homosexuality and abomination. Vote for me.' And he got 2 or 3 seats in the Knesset, meaning him and 2 more people from his party will sit in the government from the 64. So what's the problem? You have to see in Israel what they doing right now. For the last week. You cannot believe they speak about him 10 times worse as is Hitler. If he was Adolf Hitler, they would not speak bad about him like they speak against this Avi Maoz. They see him with a beard and a yarmulke and he's anti-gays. Everyone of the school declare a war against him. We won't obey his rules. He's going to be the minister in charge of education. A part of the education, not the main one. They already declare to rebel against him. Married rebels. We won't take orders from him. The one that is about to be replaced, the one that is right now still sitting in the office, clean all the money that was there and gave it all to the gays, knowing he's not gonna give them a penny. So they robbed the account, the government account. The government sent budgets. The budget was not meant for them, was meant for something else. Illegally, he made it as a fact. Today he sent like 7 million shekels to those gays, meaning I'm with you. Before I get kicked out, I'm going to make it a fact. This is what we're dealing with in Israel. You worry about Iran, you worry about There are erev rav reshayim arurim inside us. Half of the people in Israel are so wicked that I have to now try to save Israel as a Jewish state. As I said, because Israel will not stay Jewish state, there won't be Israel at all. It's going to be a place of goyim. The goyim will come in millions and all the religious Jews will have to run out of Israel. It's now or never. This is not only a cultural war, it's a war for the existence of the Torah and of Judaism and the yeshivot. There's never been such a critical moment in the last 2,000 years like now. It's the most critical moment. And you know, if Israel would cease to exist as a Jewish state, it's going to affect every religious Jew in the world, not just in Israel. It will affect Hasidim, it will affect everyone. Right now you go to Jerusalem, you go to Israel, you go to some graves of holy people— that's it. It's going to be all over. It sounds very dramatic and this is serious. It's a problem because right now if Netanyahu will not surrender, he is not going to have a government. We're going to have to go to election again. We don't know what's going to happen. This is roughly, briefly, what's happening right now in the Holy Land. So they're attacking. You have to see how they're attacking, how they are afraid that the gays would not become the center of the land. They already occupied Tel Aviv completely. They want to occupy the whole land. There are so much worry now. You have to see all these hypocrites, all these wicked people, how they cannot sleep at night that maybe there's not gonna be gay rights. As we speak, Putin today, Putin in Russia, declared a massive war against the gays. Putin the goy. Putin the intelligent goy. Declared a massive war against the gays. He made huge penalties and fines against any channel or against any page in social media that will mention the word gays or will mention the word changing of sex or transgenders, all these words that are very popular in in a wicked world. Anyone who will even mention it will get, I believe, 800,000 rubles fine. Something crazy. Hard to believe. In Russia, it's against the law. They cannot do whatever they want. They cannot have clubs. They cannot come on the street and make, you know, parades like they do in Israel. In the Holy Land, they do everything they can to make it the law of the land. In Russia, they don't let them make a beep. Crazy world. Everything in this world is upside down. Instead of being the other way around, that the Russians should promote such thing, Putin are very much against it. I'm sure there are many people in Russia that are pro this abomination. Putin as a leader never let them raise their heads over there. Every other country pushed for it nonstop. One more thing and then we move on. It's, as I always warn, the antisemitism is on a huge rise. Huge rise. A few days ago, Trump met this wacko Kanye, just totally schizophrenic, not normal. You don't have to be a genius to see that this person, his head is messed up. I don't know what is it, the drugs or schizophrenia or whatever the problem would be. He doesn't take his medication, obviously. But I'm not worried about him. Yeah, people see that he's not normal. I'm worried about the other one who joined the meeting, some Nazi who denies the Holocaust. So that means President Trump is becoming an extremist and is now showing more and more sympathy to all these Nazis in America, and there are a few millions of them. That's very bad for the Jews. Now, some people told me, ah, you're overreacting. His daughter is Jewish. His daughter, she's a convert. She's married to a Jew. That's what makes me even more scared, because I have a feeling that his daughter and his son-in-law are against him also. They retired his office. They're not with him anymore. And maybe he's doing it as retaliation against them. That's going to mess us even more, because he's a person who will take revenge. He hates Netanyahu after he congratulates Sleepy Joe. He said, I'm done with him. He's very much now against the Jews in America, who 75% betrayed him and went with the Democrats, even though he helped so much to the Jews and to Israel. So he's fuming against the Jews, against Netanyahu, and perhaps— I don't know, those two is for sure— perhaps maybe against his own daughter and his son-in-law. Not that his daughter is a real convert. That's a very, very questionable subject. In my opinion, she never converted to Judaism because when you convert, you have to accept mitzvot. If you still walk half naked on the street, it's a sign you never accepted all the laws of the Torah. So that makes the entire conversion questionable. But obviously in his mind, she's Jewish. And if she got him angry for whatever reason, That's— we all going to pay the price. So, ah, what can I tell you? We have to hope that he's not going to be the next president of America. Hopefully it's the one from Florida, DeSantis. Hopefully he will win. But if not, we're going to be in a big problem. I don't even know anymore who's going to be worse, the Democrats or him. And maybe Hashem plans to show us in the end that we left only with Him. There's no one to rely on. Until now, we still rely on America. We rely on some supposedly few friends we have left. You saw now today in the Arab world, there are games in Qatar, soccer games. Israeli reporters stand on the street In live broadcast, live, they interview people. Every Arab that passes by and recognizes that it's an Israeli reporter, they either make his head fly or they throw the microphone or they curse the Jews or Israel or they scream "Free Palestine" like there is such a place, Palestine. And they don't care. And the Israeli lefty reporters are so devastated, they're crying. They cannot believe how much the Arabs hate us. Where were you until now for 3,000 years? They sound like they just discovered that yesterday. These liberal lefties live in such an illusion that the Arabs can ever change and love Jews. It'll never happen. Never ever happen. Even if you come and tell them today, come take Israel. We will go to the desert of, I don't know, somewhere in America, place that you'll never see us again. That's it. You'll never have to see another Jew. They will come to wherever we are to kill us over there. That's their mission in life. That's the way Hashem made it. Shmael, Pere, Adam, Yadov, Bakol, Veyatkol. The Zohar said that when the Jewish nation is holy and they're on the rise spiritually, Ishmael is sinking. When the Jews are sinking with their wicked actions, Ishmael is rising. Their entire existence is only because of our wicked way. Once we do teshuvah and become righteous, they cease to exist, meaning they cannot scratch a Jew. You can't do anything. I remember days when I was a child, I walked in to my family in a Fula, 40-something years ago. I saw Arabs walking in a Fula with their keffiyeh. As a kid, I started to cry and I ran. And I came into the living room. "What happened? Why you so— why you so worried? Why you crying?" "I saw an Arab man walking." I'll never forget how my entire family was on the floor from laughing. So what's the problem? They are shaking from us. They cannot move a finger. What do you— a little child, 4 or 5 years old, why do you worry about the Arabs on the street? They were laughing. I remember my aunt, my uncle, my cousin, everyone were laughing. They don't laugh today. They themselves, if they walk on the street and they see one of them, they'll shake. One generation later is a whole different story. 40 years ago they would not make a beep inside Israel. Who would dare to talk? Now every one of them is a ticking bomb. Every one of them. Citizens of Israel with Israeli passport living in Jaffa, Haifa, Acre, Lod, Ramleh— mixed cities— ticking bombs. They all have weapons, bombs. Terrible situation. Cancer spread all over and only gets worse. So when we are— it's interesting how I speak about it and we hear bombs all over. What is this, 4th of July today? What's this fireworks? University? Why they do fireworks in university? I thought maybe they decided to give us the matching background for the lecture, spreading some bombs all over. Anyway, Rabbotai, we move on. So, so remember, next Monday no lecture, and let's move on. We read on Shabbat Parashat Vayetzei. It's describing 20 years of the life of Yaakov Avinu, life of Jacob, 20 years. As he was forced to run away from his brother who was trying to kill him, Esav. So for 20 years he's on the run outside of Israel in exile. As Avraham, Hashem said to his grandfather Avraham, "Lech lecham artzicha"— you have to leave your land to the land I will show you, to the place I will show you, right? And the fathers, they did everything they can not to leave the territory of the Holy Land unless there was no other option. They were forced to leave. Yaakov is now forced to leave the house of his parents because his life is in risk. Because his brother Esav is going to kill him. Why is he going to kill him? For selling him the bechorah. And he looks at that, that you tricked me when I was hungry and I was foolish and I sold you the bechorah. And also getting the bracha from Yitzchak while he went to search for something to bring to Yitzchak to eat, Yaakov came and stole the bracha from him. So for those two reasons, he wants to kill him. Now Yaakov is going, he's leaving the house of his parents. And his parents told him to go to where? To Haran. Where you should go? Go to my brother. Who is my brother? Lavan. He has two daughters. One of them is anyway Yoshidur. Run over there before you get killed. What is Yaakov doing? He's going to yeshiva. He's going to yeshiva for 14 years. What's happening here? Your parents told you, run to my brother, Rivkasheh, run to my brother Lavan and go over there. Over there you can work, have a place to live, plus you get married until in the meantime Esav will come down. What is Yaakov doing? He's going into yeshiva for 14 years. Why is it? That wasn't the original plan. The Torah says, "Vayetzey Yaakov." Yaakov left the place. Yetziat HaTzadik, Rashi writes, makes a big impression on the town when a tzadik leaves the town. And he's on the way to where his parents told him to go. But in the meantime, there's a change of a plan. He's going to Yeshiva Tshem Vaevel. Rashem is the son of Noah. He is the biggest tzaddik in the world. Reva is another tzaddik. They have a yeshiva. How can you have yeshiva when the Torah wasn't given yet? There was no Torah yet. The answer is there was a limited Torah. What was that Torah? The Torah that teach musar and ethics and values. and the 7 Laws of Noah also— also don't forget that Abraham Avinu already had Ariyag Mitzvot. So the 613 commandments were already known to the family of Abraham, Isaac, and Yaakov. Even Noah, that is 900 years before them, Noah already knew some of the laws of the Torah. For instance, when he came out of the ark after a year, right? Before he went into the ark, he chose 7 pure animals besides the 2 that he took, male and female, that he should sacrifice to Hashem as a thank you for saving his family. How did he know the laws, which animals are kosher, which animals are not kosher? You need to know the laws of the Torah, at least the oral laws. So from here we see that Noah had some knowledge. The main knowledge we know by Abraham, that the Torah says that Abraham kept all my Torah. Abraham kept everything, the Gemara says. So they already had Torah. It wasn't an official story with the history of the Jewish nation from the time they came out of Egypt, but it was 613 commandments. Plus the world, all the people in the world had to keep the 7 Laws of Noah and every law that is required by common sense. You should not be violent, you should not make the streets dirty, you should not deceive. Even though it's not written in the 7 Laws of the Goyim, every Goy understands you have to respect your parents, you cannot be a violent person, you cannot do all kinds of deceivings. The Goyim understood that. It was ethical. So there was a lot to learn. So Yaakov is going there for 14 years and he's not sleeping for 14 years. The Gemara says he actually falls asleep when he sits, but he doesn't sleep on a bed for 14 years. What does he do? Learn Torah nonstop. We have to ask what made Yaakov change his mind from instead of going directly to Haran he goes to yeshiva. The answer is, Rabotai, as he is on the way to his uncle, Lavan, who came on the way to attack him? Esav's son, Elifaz. Elifaz, Elifaz, in one way, he was a student of Yaakov, his uncle, was teaching him Torah. On the other hand is the son of the evil Esav. So Elifas come to Yaakov and say, "Rabbi, you're my uncle. My father sent me to kill you. What should I do?" Yaakov told him, "You always ask me what to do and I always told you a good advice, right? I'll give you an advice that you can keep your father's word and my word as your rabbi." "how can it be? You want to live and my father wants you dead. It's a contradiction." He said, "Absolutely not. Let me explain to you one thing. Hashem told Abraham, my grandfather and your grandfather, that the children of Abraham must go to Egypt to be slaves over there." And after they will be there for a long period of time, they will come out of Egypt with some wealth, but they're going to be slaves in a nation that will torture them. If you kill me now, it will have to be you because there's not going to be any descendants left from Avraham. Since I'm the bechor and I bought it from your father officially, me and my children have to go to Egypt to be slaves. If you kill me now, you're gonna go to Egypt and be the slaves with all your children. Is that what you want? He said, absolutely not. He said, so it has to be either me or you. So you don't want to kill me. So how would I go back to my father and tell him that I didn't listen to him? He said, the Torah said that if a person loses all his wealth, it's count like he's dead. Ani hashuv kemet. Take away everything I have. Take all my wealth, take all my animals, take all my jewels, take everything. Leave me with nothing. Then you can go back to your father and say to him, I left him with nothing. Ani hashuv kemet. It's count like I killed him. Plus tell him that if you would kill me physically, you and him would have to go to Egypt and your children and be slaves over there. Of course, when Esav heard that, he was furious, but it was too late. Esav still have in mind, my son didn't do it, I'll do it. Later we will find out that Esav come with 400 men. But for now Yaakov got saved. He left him with nothing, just underwear to his body. That's it. Yaakov didn't know what to do. He went into the water. It's not modest to walk like this. He left him with nothing, started to pray to Hashem. He saw a floating body of a dead soldier with uniform. Better I take these clothes instead of walking half naked. He took off his clothes, got dressed with that, and that's how he left. Now, the Rambam says there are two ways of learning Torah. When you become 20, you have to get married. Some people, they first learn Torah, then they get married. Some people get married and then learn Torah. How do you know what you should do? So the Rambam said, if you're rich or your parents are rich and they're gonna sponsor all your needs, then you can get married. Since you have money for home, to sponsor your wife, you may have kids, you have enough money, you don't have to worry about Parnassa. So you can get married, you're gonna have all your needs and you can sit and learn Torah. What happened if your parents cannot sponsor you or your in-laws? You don't have money. You gonna go now to get married, you don't have a penny. You're going to go to learn, your wife going to be starving at home. It's going to create Shalom Bayit issues. How she's going to survive? So the Rambam say, first you go and work, save enough money, build yourself a house. Remember, it wasn't like today, you need 30 years to build a house. House was wood and tar. There's no electric, no plumbing, nothing. The floor is all sand. How long does it— how much you need? In today's, not even $1,000 to build a house. Clothes, people had one outfit for the week and one outfit for Shabbat if they're lucky. Some people didn't even have that. There was no expenses like today. You didn't need cars, you didn't have insurance, you didn't have flights. You had animals, the animals would supply you with milk and wool. From the wool you make clothes. You would have chickens that give you eggs, fruits and vegetables you plant in your backyard, and wheat and barley. And that's how people survived. The overhead was very, very small. People were not materialistic. Today we live in such high inflation. Everything becomes double and triple and crazy how everything is very expensive. Why is it? Why the cost of living became 3 times more than 10 years ago? Why? Because people are not religious. If the people in the world were all God-fearing people, the prices would never go up. They will be the same prices all the time. There will not be any inflation. What's the connection? You're probably wondering. What's the connection between religion and prices? Very simple. When the people are religious for real, they're not materialistic. They don't care about the physical pleasure. They live in the most simple way. They don't need to keep buying, buying like drug addicts every day to buy something new. Amazon, Amazon, Amazon, non-stop ordering. 90% of what they buy they don't even need. He has 20 pairs of shoes, his wife have 300 pairs of shoes. He has 10 coats and 20 suits. What for? It's all greed. And then you need to upgrade the cars and upgrade the phone and this, and there's no end to how much a person wants. And vacations and flights and jewelry, and then you need insurance for the jewelry. It never ends. Why? Because the eyes of the people just becoming hungrier and hungrier, more and more. And therefore, there is a lot of demand for merchandise. And when there is a lot of demand, prices always go up. If everyone will stop for one month to buy, nobody will buy anything besides bread and some food to eat in the most simple way. One month, nobody buys anything. Nobody goes on vacation. Nobody burns money that it's really not necessary. Nobody buy watches. Nobody buy jewelry. Nobody buy fancy clothing. you're going to see a drop of 40% in all prices in everything. In Israel now, people are so broke, the storages of all the department stores is packed with electrical devices. They don't sell anything. Nobody buys. People barely have money to eat. So nobody buys mixers, nobody buys blenders, nobody buys things that they don't need. So they try to stick to what they have. So now the prices, they're beginning to advertise 30% off, buy 2 get 1 free. Why? They don't have where to store the stuff. That's what brings inflation down. If for instance in COVID, remember COVID, everyone was at home, nobody was driving, oil prices went down by 90%. Nobody buy oil, so right away the prices went down. So why the prices are keep going higher and higher? Because people are buying. Now it's gonna be depression, world recession, everything will drop. Expensive watches, expensive jewelry, everything will go down. Gold will remain high. Why? Gold is a way of survival. If you want to take with you something, always keep some value. But other than that, all the fancy-schmancy things is gonna drop to low, very low. Why? Because nobody buys. So in reality, in the old days, a person wants to get married, doesn't have 99% of the things we need today. You didn't need, you didn't need fancy plates and you didn't need fancy all kinds of bowls and ovens and refrigerators. You didn't have all this. You make your own wood with pieces of wood, your own table, your own chairs. Everything was very simple. Still, you need money. So the Rambam says, if you're rich, get married and then go to learn. Why? There is enough money to live. If you're not, you need to first go to work. Once you have money, then you get married. Now Yaakov was rich when he left his father's house. His father is a millionaire. Yitzchak, the Palestinians kicked him out. Avimelech, he told him, you have to leave our country. This is the first case of antisemitism. With Avraham, they fought Avraham and shut his wells. They did the same thing to his son Yitzchak. Avimelech told him, you are so big. You are the richest person in our country. You have to leave the country. I cannot vouch for your safety. Let's make a covenant. I will always protect you and you will always protect me. We will never be enemies. Yitzchak made a vow with him, a promise, and that's the reason that later when we came out of Egypt HaKadosh Baruch Hu could not take us from the land of Palestine. Ha'aparashat b'Shalach start. Vayi b'Shalach paro, right? Velo nacham Hashem derech Eretz Plishtim ki karahu. Although the land of Palestine is a lot closer and you don't have to go through the water, you can go directly from Egypt to Israel. It will take maximum 11 days. To the old people and the children. 11 days maximum. It can take 3 days, depend how fast you walk. You can go directly into Israel. Why you have to go all the way towards Saudi Arabia and make such a huge circle? The answer is, I cannot attack the Palestinians. Yitzhak, your grandfather, made a covenant with them that we will not attack each other. 'Plus there's another reason. I have to drown the Egyptians in water just like they did to the babies. If you walk straight to Israel, there's no water on the way. So I have to take you through the Red Sea, make the Egyptians drown, measure for measure. Every punishment I give a human being is always have to match his crime. Whatever you can— when you committed a crime, your punishment will be according to what kind of crime you committed. Cannot be a random punishment. You drowned the babies, you will drown in the water. Measure for measure. It's all one big puzzle. So now, Abotai, Yaakov was wealthy. He was on the way to Lavan to get married. Elif has cleaned him out. He has nothing left. What should I do right now? "Let me go and learn Torah. What is the point of getting married anyway? I cannot support. Since change in my— there is a massive change in my situation. Let me learn Torah first. I'm a single guy. I'm still not married. No problem. I have no obligation to feed a wife and children." Immediately he went to yeshiva for 14 years. After that, he went to Lavan, and that's when the story begins. 20 years of his life we are talking here about. So he comes, he comes to, he leaves Beersheva. He was in Beersheva in the Holy Land. It's written, "Vayetzei Yaakov mi-Beersheva." Yaakov came out of Beersheva. Why they call it Beersheva, Seven Wells? That's the place where the Palestinians blocked the Seven Wells of Yitzchak all the way in the south. That's right where they are next to Gaza and Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheva. That's where the Palestinians, where they used to be. So they call it Beersheva, Seven Wells, as a memory of those Seven Wells. Until today, the same name. In the Aftarah It's written, "Vayevrach Yaakov s'dearam." In the parasha of the Torah, it says, "Vayetzeh Yaakov." When you come out, it's willingly. Nobody pushed you out. I mean, yes, he had to leave because Esav wants to kill him, but in afterlife, it says that he ran away. It's different coming out or running away. What's the— why there's a difference? This is in Osher of Zera 12, chapter 13. The difference in the language is Yaakov left the house of his parents for two reasons. One is because he respects his parents who told him to go. And they told him, go padana Aram. Aram is Syria. Syria, where Syria is, past Lebanon over there. There is two kinds of Aram. There is Aram Tzovah That's where all the Syrians came from, all the Syrian Jews. On the Siddurim it's written, "Kehilat Aram Tzovah." That's Syria, what we know Syria today. And there is Aram Naharaim. That's Kurdistan. That's between Syria and Iraq, right there where the Kurdish live. That's called Aram Naharaim. That's where Avraham Avinu came from. First Jew, first Hebrew was Kurdish from the area of Kurdistan. That's Aram Naharaim. Aram Tsova is where Syria is today. And Nineveh, remember Nineveh with Jonah, is close to Syria over there. Right there. And the mountain of Ararat, remember where the Noah's Ark landed, is right on the border of Turkey Turkey and Armenia. Where Armenia is? Right there. It's a very tall mountain. How can you find a huge boat on the highest mountain in the area? Nobody builds such a big boat in such a mountain. You build the boats right by the water. Who would build such a boat on a mountain? How are you going to carry it down all the way down to the water? The answer: nobody built it there. That's where it landed when the water started to dry out. He keeps going lower, lower, lower until he hit the ground. Where did he hit the ground? On that huge mountain because all the mountains the Torah described, they were all covered. So he has to go padenah to Aram. "Kach lechamisha mishah." You have to get married there. That's one reason. Second reason is afraid Esav is going to kill him. Why Yaakov doesn't want to marry Rachel? Rachel is a big tzadika. The Torah says, "Le'ara kot." Her eyelashes fell off from crying so much. Why she cried? She was afraid that she's gonna have to marry Esav. From the time they were born, the two twins, Rachel and Leah, and when the time Yaakov and Esav was born, everyone spoke about those two for those two. The oldest to the oldest and the youngest to the youngest, meaning Leah is meant to be for Esav, but she sees a hunter, not sitting, he's not learning Torah, he's not a kosher person. So she cried to Hashem, please save me from this monster. Yaakov, why doesn't he want to marry her? What's the problem? Marry her and marry her sister. What's the problem? It was out of Israel. According to the Torah, you're not allowed to marry two sisters. When you're not allowed? When you already entered Israel. Yaakov could not marry both of them. He was able to marry them before he entered Israel. Why? Because the laws of the Torah are more binding in the land of Israel. Remember, this is before the Torah the Torah was given to the Jews. Once the Torah was given to the whole nation, the Torah is the same Torah all over the world. Israel, outside of Israel, you have to keep the mitzvot. Besides the mitzvot that relates only to the Holy Land, but all other mitzvot. You should not steal, also out of Israel. You should not kill, out of Israel. You should eat matzah on Pesach, out of Israel. You should put tefillin anywhere. But Because Yaakov married two sisters, which according to Torah is not allowed, once he came to enter Israel, one of them had to die. And Rachel said, "I will die. I have to die." She took it on herself. And just a moment before they entered, she passed and he buried her on the way in Bethlehem, where the Arabs live now. Bethlehem. It's an Arab territory right now. Why? He cannot enter the Holy Land and live with two sisters. You're not allowed. That's when Rachel, age 36, had to die as she gave birth to Binyamin. That's the story of Yaakov. The love of his life, he had to give up on her. In the Parasha, it's written that Lavan chased them and she was sitting on his on his statues, or Avodah Zarah, on his idol. And Lavan, after Hashem warned him to not dare to touch or to harm Yaakov in any way, after he speaks to the real God, he comes to Yaakov. How did you run away from me? You didn't let me kiss my grandchildren. I did everything for you and you ran away like a thief. And you stole my God. What, are you normal? 'You just spoke to the real God. What do you care about a piece of metal?' Yaakov didn't know she took it. So Yaakov said, 'No, you're blaming me for stealing your idol? If anyone here stole your idol, should not live.' And there was Rachel sitting on the idol. Why she took the idol for? To prevent her father from being an idol worshiper. That's a very common question by many of the Gentiles that listen to my lecture, they stop being Christian, but they have a big problem. Some of them support their parents who are Christians, 100% idol worshippers who bow down to their idols and JC and Maria and José and the rest of their nonsense. Some of them are poor parents. Their children maybe left their country and they came to America America, they make money, they want to send money to their parents knowing that money will be used for idol worshiping lifestyle. They ask, are we allowed to give them money knowing they're going to use this money to donate to their church, to their idols going against Hashem? We allowed to participate in such a sin? It's a lot of hard questions. So, Rabotai— so Yaakov is afraid that Esav is going to kill him, plus his parents told him to leave, so he's leaving. The prophet is adding something we didn't know. Yaakov is running away from the threats of his wicked murderer brother. He knows what he's capable of. He knows what's going to happen when we'll be alone. Me and him. So the Torah told us that when Yaakov left, he overcame his natural fear. Why? Why you have to overcome your natural fear? You're afraid of your brother, the murderer. You're afraid. If I leave because I'm afraid of my brother, then the Mitzvah of Kibud Av is incomplete. The only way to earn the Mitzvah of respecting my parents, to do what they ask me to, if I don't have another reason. If I have another reason why I'm living, because I'm afraid that Esav will kill me, I'm not doing it because my parents told me. I'm doing it because I'm afraid to die. It takes away my eternal reward of respecting the parents. The reward of respecting your parents is an eternal reward in the next world. In a world that is endless, you're going to get a huge reward for it, for respecting your parents. Plus, in this world, you're going to have a lot of wealth. You can see by the Persians and the Syrians that are very wealthy in general, more than other nationalities. One of the special things about those two, that they never neglect their parents. They keep them in the house, they don't put them in old age, they don't just keep them at home with some maid, they bring them into the house, they take care of them until the last minute of their life. Everybody come, participate, they live together with the whole family. There's no such thing of a Persian old man or Syrian that will be neglected and thrown somewhere in the middle of nowhere. There's no such thing. It's a big insult to tell a Syrian man, put your father in the old age. 5 stars! You crazy? I'm gonna put my father over there? But don't worry, It's better than hotel. They take care of him. They put music, piano, shows, comedians. Those fancy $15,000 a month to put the old man in a place with friends. It may be even better for him. That's an insult for us to put our parents in such a place. Doesn't matter even if we pay top money. That's meaning we're going to let someone else take care of our parents. It's a shame. Same thing by the Persians, no such thing. Maybe now it's a new generation, I don't know, but my generation, you will never see such thing. The grandma would be in the house all the time and everybody comes around there. Whenever she is, everybody comes. So Yaakov, the Navi is telling us that even though Yaakov was afraid of Esav, he eliminated that fear in order for him to keep the Mitzvah of Kibud Av. In the Navi, it says that really one of the reasons he ran away is because he was afraid to die. But in the Torah, there's no mention of it. Why? Because Hashem knows that although he's afraid of Esav, the main reason why he's leaving today is because his parents told him so. And it doesn't matter even if Esav will tell me, "I'm not going to touch you." My parents told me go and I leave. Rashi says that when a righteous person leaves the place, he is the beauty of the place. He is the center of the place. You know, once he leaves, the beauty of the place, the blessing of the place is leaving with him. Right? So When a person decides to leave his hometown for whatever reason, he's anxious already to arrive to his new destination. He doesn't want to waste time on the journey, right? On the way. When Yaakov is going to Haran, running away from Esav, one of the purposes is to get married. He has to get married and have children, right? For Rivka, She has one thing in her mind: saving the life of my beloved son, Yaakov, the tzaddik, from the other wicked son. Right? Yitzchak is thinking about my son has to get married, I need grandchildren. He doesn't understand that Esav wants to kill Yaakov. Remember, Esav is, you know, he loves Esav. So, you know, so what happened over here? Every one of them has a different reason in his mind. Every one of them, right? So, you know, we have in the Torah, "Vayetzeh hakom miber shava vayelecharana vayifgab hamakom." In the middle, while he's on his journey, he arrives to the Moriah Mountain, but not at first. First he passed that, he went all the way almost to Syria. Then he thought, I was already by the Moriah Mountain on my way. I was close to Jerusalem, to where the Beit HaMikdash is, where Har Hamoriah. How didn't I go to pray where Abraham took my father Yitzchak for the Aqedah. How is it possible? I have to go and fix my mistake. The Torah says that Hashem made him a miracle. Instead of walking now for days, the way became much shorter. How is it possible? Only Hashem can do it. You walk for weeks in the desert, you can fall the road, fold it like you fold the belt, make it much shorter. You won't even know. You walk, you walk, you walk. It's not like today, everything has been filmed, satellite. You walk and instead of taking, I don't know, 4 or 5 weeks, it will take you maybe 2 weeks. He arrived over there and he comes to sleep. There are 12 stones over there. He put the stones around his head. That the animals should not attack him while he sleeps there in the middle of nowhere. It's all open on a mountain. There are animals. There are animals even here in America. Now in Woodland Hills in California, a few days ago, a coyote. Coyotes, a lot of Israelis live there. A little baby She crawl on the grass, coyote came, beat her and started to drag her. You see a video how her father runs in Hebrew and scream and throw things at him until he left the baby all bleeding. There are plenty of coyotes in Woodland Hills. I told one tzaddik that used to live there and he moved, I told him, I'm sure if you would still be living there, the animals animals wouldn't come. Because the Torah says that when the tzadikim goes, when people leave the place, then the animals come. Why the animals don't care about wicked people? When righteous people, the animals are afraid. When there's no righteous people, they're not afraid, they just show up. How come? It's written in Kabbalah that when the animal looks to the person, if he's righteous, if the person is righteous, they're afraid of him. If he's wicked, they see an image of another animal. Animal with animal, it's a war. They go into a war. With people, they're always afraid. They run. They know people can hunt them, can kill them. It's very interesting. That's when they threw Yosef into the pit, the brothers. There was like a lie detector, like a way to check if he deserved to live or not. They saw snakes and scorpions. They said, "We do not know 100% if Yosef deserves to live or not. He is snitching on us to Yaakov. He is blaming us for all kinds of things. We will put him in a pit and see." The animals didn't touch him. The "bor maleach ravim," scorpions and snakes. There was a way to know if he deserved to live or not. He was there and the animals didn't touch him. Everyone else, the snake will attack him in less than a minute. So, Rabotai, it's very interesting. So, the The Yaakov is putting 12 rocks around his head to protect himself from the animals, but it looks like a joke. If you have a coyote there or a lion or who knows, leopard, after all, they care about 12 rocks that you have around your head? It's gonna come and beat your stomach, eat you from the legs, pull you from the legs. Well, an animal's care about few rocks around? The Midrash told us that the rocks were fighting who should be the pillow of the righteous man, this holy man Jacob, that his name is Israel. What's the— since when rocks are fighting? Why do you need this Midrash for? Sounds like a kindergarten. 12 rocks are fighting. No, move away! I'm going to be under the tzaddik. No, no, I will be. There was a miracle. All 12 of them were united to one rock. It's obviously all hints that there will be 12 tribes from the Jewish nation. It'll become one nation. So a lot of secrets here in the story. But I want to ask you a question. After the 12 rocks became one, in the end, how big is his head? The size of one of the rocks. That means 11 other rocks did not feel the head of the righteous man on them. Only one in the end got the merit. The fact that they all became one huge rock, nice, but where in the end the head was? Either here on the left and then center on the right. It's not on all 12 rocks. From here we learn that when all things become one, it's considered one object, not 12. The unity makes you one. When you are separated, there's no unity, it's 12. When it all becomes one, it's one. From here, by the way, we learn a very interesting halacha. Let's say you have tefillin, right? Beautiful tefillin, handmade, 100% best one. The stripes are also handmade. They painted on both sides black. Top of the line feeling. What happened after years? Let's say 10, 15 years. One side becomes more used and old than the other side. The side that is on the bottom, you never touch. It remains brand new. The one that you keep pulling and putting it in, taking it out, right? Right here by the arm, after 15 years, it becomes a little bit— maybe it's peeling, maybe it's soft, maybe it's begin to rip from stretching it over the years. So what do you want to do? You want to replace the stripes. But it's not a good idea. Why? Because these stripes have 15 years of holiness in them. It's easy to go and buy new stripes. You pay a few hundred dollars, you get brand new handmade stripes. But what about the holiness of these? So there is another option. You can replace the stripes. Untie the knot, turn it upside down, take the barim and make a new knot connected to the fill in and the used part will be loose on the floor, almost on the floor by your knees. Now you got yourself another 15 years to use the same stripe. Good idea? Not so easy. Why? Because maybe you decrease the holiness of the piece, the piece of the stripe that used to to touch that filling. That filling is the holy part. When you attach something to something holy, it also becomes holy. So now you're taking the piece that was touching that filling, detaching it from there, from that filling, putting it on the other side, and take the other side and attach it to that filling. So the, the bottom part, you now make it an upgrade. It was far from that filling, now it's touching it. The piece that was touching that filling becomes downgrade. It doesn't touch that filling anymore. It's an abadah. Maybe it's not allowed. See, every little thing needs a deep investigation in Judaism. You don't just do things. You have to use your head and investigate, chas v'shalom, not to do something against Hashem's will. So the answer is it's no problem to do it. While when it's one long piece, even though only one side touching the Tefillin, the holiness of the Tefillin goes all the way to the end of the stripe. It doesn't mean just because one side is touching, it's holier than the other side of the stripe that doesn't touch. How do we learn that? From the 12 rocks. If only the place where the the head of the holy man touch, gets his holiness, and it doesn't reflect to the other 11 rocks, what is the point of uniting them? Anyway, it didn't do anything. In the end, only one rock got it. From here that the 12 became one, because they all wanted to be the pillow of the righteous man. Then they all became one big rock, and he put his head in the it doesn't matter where, it reflects on the entire ark. So the entire ark got the holiness. However, why would he put to begin with 12 arks around his head? Anyway, it's not going to save his life if some lion would come. The answer, Rabbi Botai, Rav Chaim Kanievsky— I was asked this question, alav haShalom zatzal— and he said The person has an obligation to do a little bit of effort. Even though it's obvious that the efforts that I made is definitely not allowed. Not to save my life or not to survive financially or not to find a shidur. It's not enough in a natural way. But I don't have to do the entire thing. It's all in the hand of Hashem anyway. I just have to participate in what Hashem wants to give me. Make an effort. Why? Because there is a verse in the Torah that Hashem will bless you, bechol maasei adecha, in everything you're going to do. Not when you snore in bed and expect me to do the work for you. No, you have to do something, and once you do it, I'll bless you. That's what Elisha told the woman, go get from the neighbors some utensils, and it had a little bit oil in it. What is the point here? I'm gonna give you a blessing that will be full of oil and everything you need, but you have to make some effort. Everyone has to do some effort. You want to get married? Contact one shadchan, contact one rabbi or rebbe tzem that does shiddukhim. And that's it. I did what I had to do, ishtadlut. You want to make a living? Find some kind of a source of an income. But it's not enough for my family. What they're offering me, it's not even half. Don't worry, you already did your effort. Leave the rest for Hashem. But you have to do something. If you don't do anything, you'll find yourself a homeless. Why? Because you didn't do anything about it. Something you have to do. Some ishtadlut. It's called ishtadlut. Some people, unfortunately, they have such a low level of faith, they have to do a lot of ishtadlut because they don't rely on Hashem. They always worry. The more worried you are, the more efforts you have to do. The less worried you are, the less efforts you have to do. So if you're fully confident, you sleep well at night, you never worry about money, you're not worried about bills that you have to pay soon and you don't have right now the money, you're not worried about when the time comes you're gonna get married or when you have to marry your children, you don't worry about anything because you know anyway Hashem does everything. So you're fully free and have peace of mind. So you have to do very, very little, almost nothing. But if you worry like most people are and you can barely sleep at night and you suffer nonstop and you're full of stress, you will have to work like a slave. Why? You don't trust me? You trust your work, you trust yourself, you trust your education, you trust your college degree. You will be a servant of the world. Why? Because you don't rely on me. You rely on me, you don't have to worry. I'll do everything for you. Ashlech ya'avcha al Hashem ve'uyichalke lecha. Throw everything on Hashem and he will perform for you, but that's in one condition only, that you rely on Hashem. If you're shaking and worry and taking pills and you don't sleep at night, you won't get the miracles. You have to go and work very hard. Why? And a job and an extra job and make efforts and beg. Why? Because you don't rely on me. You rely on your college, right? You rely on yourself, you rely on your parents, you rely on your uncle, you rely on your government, you rely on whatever you rely on, no problem. What does not come through the head comes through the legs. Through the head, it takes a minute to understand, or less. If you don't understand the easy way, you will understand the hard way after you work for a few years and you realize in the end you come to the same situation. Situation where you've been before. And then you wonder— one person came to Rav Shach and he said to him, Rabbi, I'm already learning few years in yeshiva. Now I got married, I have children. It's hard for me to support my family. It's harder. I would like to go to work. I should go to work and find a job. He said to him, okay, go to work. He went and worked. 4 years he worked like a slave. In the end, he came down to the same situation. The day he left the yeshiva and went to work, 4 years later, he's back to square one. He came back to the rabbi and he said to him, "I realize I made a mistake. I should have really not go to work. I managed before, and when I went to work, my expenses become higher." higher and higher. In the end, I'm still in the same financial stress. I would like to go back to yeshiva now full-time. He told him, no, you can't. You have to go to work. Why? 4 years ago, before I left the yeshiva, you told me not to leave the yeshiva. You told me, don't worry, Hashem will continue to take care of you. Now you're encouraging me to go back to work? And he said to him, yes, because when you are a ben Torah, you give your life for the Torah, Torah, Hashem does everything for you in a miraculous way. So many miracles. Once you become a working man, the miracles of Neitorah, which is overcoming the laws of nature, does not apply to you anymore. This miracle lifestyle is no longer available. Miracles for you. Why? You left the Torah and you went to work. You went to work, no problem, you continue to work. For a minute, don't think that you eat thanks to your work. It's still all Hashem, but not as much of miracles as He used to perform before. I ask the question, why Yaakov was afraid, he didn't want to marry Leah. What's the problem? Marry Leah and marry Rachel. If Lavan want to fool you, have fun, marry both of them. What's the problem? Leah doesn't want to end up with Esav. She wants you. Rachel wants you. Leah wants you. What's the problem? Marry both. The answer is, Rabbotai, Yaakov was afraid of Esav. Don't forget that. He knows what a murderer brother he is. He's already fuming for two reasons. Should I give him a third reason? Imagine now I also steal his Shidduch. I took away his Bechorah, I took away his blessing. Now imagine he finds out I took away his wife. So he was afraid. Lavan. Pull the trick. The trick that Lavan made, was it from Hashem or no? What do you think? When Yaakov arrived, he saw Rachel by the well. Right away fell in love with her. When you see Yoshidur, first sight, immediately fall in love. Both sides. Why? Because it's two halves of soul unite immediately. So he saw her, she saw him, that's it, it was a done deal. At that time, Lavan did not have any sons, only Rachel and Leah. Zilpah and Bilhah also his daughters, but not from his official wife. So he has actually 4 daughters. The daughters from the unofficial wife, they made her a servant of the main princesses, Rachel and Leah. How do we know Laban didn't have sons? Because it's unacceptable for someone that have sons to send his daughter with the sheep to the well. You only do it when you have no choice. If a person have sons, they take care of the sheep, not the women. Shepherds are the men, not the women. If there are no men, what are you gonna do? Who's gonna help you out? Your daughter's gonna have to do a job of a man. When Yaakov come to his house, he gets the blessing. He starts to have sons also, not just daughters. Immediately he thought that Yaakov is from the royal family. His grandfather Avraham and his father are very rich. Obviously he's also a millionaire prince. If the servant Eliezer came here with 10 camels full of wealth and candy and food and clothing and jewelry the servant of his grandfather. Imagine how much he has. Immediately he thinks, "Oh, how much wealth I'm going to make now." He checked him out. Yaakov came penniless. Why? Elifas cleaned him out. He has nothing, nothing on him. Imagine him, he has one outfit, he dressed like like a Goy soldier, a Marine soldier. He came on the Shidduch, "Shalom." "Shalom, bracha." "Yes." "How can I help you?" "I'm the Shidduch of your daughter." "But why are you dressed like an American soldier?" "It's a long story. I got robbed. The only clothes I found was some dead body in a lake." Now he begins to walk for 20 years with Lavan the crook deceived him for 20 years. 7 years for Rachel, 7 years for Leah, and 6 more years for the sheep. This is all in the parasha we read on Shabbat. Rabotai, the Torah described this crook, his name Lavan Ha'arabi. Rami, if you play with the order of the letters, it gives you Naval Aramaic, the villain crook. That's his name, official name, the villain crook, Naval Aramaic. Lavan, Naval, the same letters, 3 letters. Let's play with the order. Lavan becomes Naval. Naval means villain. Arami becomes Ramai. Ramai means a crook, professional crook, and that's what he was. 500 years ago, we had the Ari HaKadosh. He lives in Tsfat. He had a holy vision on him all the time, which is very rare. Even prophets didn't have it what he had. He was able to look at every person's forehead and tell him who used to be in his past life. He was walking in the field looking at the rocks and the trees and tell you which wicked person is reincarnated in the rocks, in the trees. He was able to detect. The Ari HaKadosh, he wrote the famous book, Shaar HaGilgulim, Gates of Reincarnations. That's when he explained what kind of wicked people are reincarnated in Roma material, in plants, fruits, vegetables, animals, people, all kinds of reincarnations. One time the Ari HaKadosh was in a yeshiva in Tsfat and the Alter, the Alter HaKadosh was a holy Rabbi, Alter, he lived in the same time 500 years ago in Tsfat, all the way in the north of Israel by the border of Lebanon. That's why they leave all the holy Mekubalim, Kabbalists. The Anshech was naming all the 100 tricks that Lavan tricked Yaakov. Hakol beruach hakodesh. And the Ari Hakadosh was laughing in a yeshiva in the middle of the shiur, looking up to the corner of the room and laughed. They asked him, "Why you are laughing?" He said, "Because Hashem sent the spirit of Lavan the crook to dissuade, to hear and confirm all the 100 deceiving tricks that he did to Yaakov." And one of them he disagreed. He was screaming, "No, not true! This one I never did!" Confirmed 99, but one of them he said, "I never did." So the rabbi was wrong about one of the 100 for whatever reason. So the Ari Hakadosh was laughing. This is the Ari Hakadosh who he was 500 years ago. Everything we know in Kabbalah today came from him. Every word of Kabbalah, everything that the Kabbalists do today, it's all from him. He had a student, Rabbi Chaim Vital, who is buried in Syria. And everything the Ari taught, he wrote down. He told him, "I came to the world to teach you the Kabbalah secrets." There is a group of Syrian business people who flew to Syria about 15 years ago approximately to meet the president of Syria. Syria, Assad. Before the civil war started in Syria, they were in good shape. They arrived to Syria and they told President Assad, "We would like to make a contribution." Very wealthy Syrian Jews from Brooklyn. I actually saw the picture how they were all sitting in his room, fancy room, gave them a lot of respect. And they said to him, "We would like to make a contribution." contribute. They came, they went to the grave of Rabbi Chaim Vital and some other big rabbis that buried in Syria. So he said, they say to him, we would like to make a contribution to reserve and improve the Jewish cemeteries here in Syria. Some of the cemeteries are in bad condition, the graves are falling, trees fail, you know, some alert. Tell us please whatever is necessary to fix it and make it nice with fans, everything nice and neat, and we will make the payment. He said to them, it's an insult to me that it wasn't even brought to my attention. If I knew about it, I would fix it a long time ago. You are— by you suggesting to pay something that It's my duty as the president of this country for all these holy rabbis that are buried there. It's an insult to Syria. Consider it done. I'll take care of all the Jewish cemeteries. Maybe that was his merit that nobody can remove him from his power. The whole world was against him. Hussein Obama and United Nations and everybody. Everyone around, all Europe. Hashem put Putin behind him. Nobody will touch you, relax. Still in power, no matter how many crimes he commit. Similar to Hosni Mubarak. Rav Ovadia gave him a blessing that he should live long life and his enemies will not be able to defeat him. They already sentenced him and his sons to death. People say, how come? In the end, everything was cancelled against all odds. He lived a long life. Nobody touched him. Why? They wanted to make a highway on the Jewish cemetery in Egypt. Rav Ovadia went to Egypt, spoke to Hosni Mubarak in Arabic, told him, I would like you to please change the highway path. He told him, do you know, Chacham, what operation is this to change everything. This whole thing was designed that the highway will go from here. To moving it, it's a disaster for Egyptian economy. But if you requested that, I cannot tell you no. Out of respect to you, I will change the entire highway. And he gave him a blessing that he should live long life, will be protected from from his enemies. And he did. Unbelievable. He was willing to do for a rabbi what not one lefty in the world will ever agree to do. If it will be a lefty Jew, he will say, "Rabbi, why are you wasting my time? Why you even came here? Who gave you permission to enter? Get out of here." That's how they talk, these lefty Reshaim Harurim. Israel. Yes, some of them are even with little tiny yarmulkes on their head. They were in the army, generals, so they think they are somebody important. The way they talk to the chief rabbis. These Arabs, Hosni Mubarak, who fought against Israel in a war. He was a pilot. And Assad, the president of Syria. They are officially enemies of Israel. Enemies of Israel respect the Jewish community, and the lefties want to bury us alive. So who are the real enemies? Who are the real enemies of the Jewish nation? The enemies from outside? Yes, they are, but they are not as bad as those are inside. Side of us, those lefty liberals who hates Hashem and hates religion and hate rabbis and hate Torah and hate modesty and love gays and love abomination and love assimilation and intermarriage and hates Torah. You have to see how they crying and how they murdering this guy Avi Mahoz now. Why? Because he's against homosexuality. They talk about him like he's Adolf Hitler. Mamash like that. Every minute! You don't have a minute on the media that he is not the subject. He's not even sitting in the office yet. By the way, he doesn't even have the authority to do anything in the education system. It's a different office. But they are so petrified that a religious man will sit in the Board of Education that are going crazy will rebel. We will take a million people to the street. We'll destroy Israel if you will touch the gays. Then you wonder why we're losing to the Arabs every day. By the Arabs, you know anyone that will come on the media and say I'm pro-gay? Let's see you doing it in Gaza. That's it. The filthiest murderers will not let you breathe another second. They won't be able to go to sleep if you're still alive because you promote such an abomination. These monsters, these monsters listening to Hashem more than the educated liberal Jews. How can I not pull my hair off? How? And this Rav Shach said already 30 years ago that they are the Erev Rav, the Reshaim Haruim. He was the leader of the religious world. He had to fight with them every day with this kind of Reshaim. But they were not as bad back then. We used to have a prime minister in Israel, his name was Moshe Sharett. I don't know, 40 years ago, more, more than 40, 50 years ago. He was in some parade of the Israeli army and one of the airplanes crashed right next to him. 20 people around him died and he survived. He survived. He wrote a letter to Rav Shach asking him why from all from all the people Hashem saved him. You will not get any letter like this from anyone of the Reshaim today in politics. They don't even care about Hashem. Needless to say, they don't think Hashem saved me. He wrote a letter to Rav Shahr, why is it possible? Why from all the people I'm the only one who got saved? What was my merit? I wasn't a religious man. Rav Shach told him, because you are the only politician who are not anti-religion like all the others. That's why they all died and you got saved. So he asked Rabotai, secular man, nothing religious. He asked, what should I do to thank Hashem? He said, donate from your money to Amalei Torah, to people that that sits and learns Torah. There's no bigger way to thank Hashem. Why? Hashem loves the Torah more than anything. People who sit and give their life for the Torah, you sponsor them, you become a partner of Hashem. Those were the lefties of 50 years ago. Don't expect that today. Don't. So let's understand what's really happening here. Tov? Lavan, how old was Lavan when Yaakov arrived to him? The answer is Rabotai, he thought that Yaakov brought money so he ran mamash like a sprinter. You know these people in the Olympic Games? Carl Lewis. In less than a second, he was already outside. How old was he? 109 years old. Let's hope that when we'll be in this age, we'll be able to run. All right? I give you that blessing. Why did he run? He heard money. As bad as you feel, as painful as your legs are, when you hear there is a lot of money waiting outside, you become very light. The Satan gives you a lot of energy. No joke. The Satan gives you energy. Look at the people in their 80s. He's already one leg in the grave, sometimes one and a half. The second leg up to his knee already is also in the grave. From the knee to the hip, maybe another year until they will be buried. All of a sudden he comes to his son, "Hey Joe, I want you to go make them an offer over there on the hill. Let's knock down those two houses." We build a whole big building, 40 floors, call the architect, tell him to draw a plan, blueprint, offer them. Abba, why do you need this headache now? It's going to take 10 years. Come on, come on, we're going to grow the empire. So already in Gehinnom, he's worried about building a building with 40 floors. You know what a headache is to build a building? You know how many people are involved, how much headache he's going to have? Instead of enjoying the last few years of his life, be with the grandchildren, go lay a little bit by the lake, fish a little bit, do something as a secular person, do something to relax. He's looking for a new investment. New investment. Rabotai, Lavan is 109. How do we know? Rivka, his sister, left Charan when she was 12. She went to marry Yitzchak, right? And she was barren for how many years? 20 years. She was barren for 20 years until Yaakov was born. Yaakov arrived to Charan is 77 years old. So minimum age for Lavan was 109. If you add together the numbers, he had to be at least 109. When he heard there is an opportunity to make money, the prince arrived. "How are you, nephew?" So he thought if Avraham sent 10 camels, the royal prince probably brought a lot more. Finally he arrived, he barely can breathe, not even one camel. He thought, you know what, maybe he brought diamonds. He become more sophisticated. Instead of bringing 10 camels, bring maybe 50 diamonds in a pocket. Started to kiss him. Check, check the pocket. Nothing. I don't hear noise. No gold coin, no nothing. Where is all the wealth? Elif has took everything. I invested it in a crypto market. That liberal Jew, the Democrat crook stole it all. Bitcoin, AirBit, business. Today you have it, tomorrow it's flying in the air. Lavan is upset. Wow! Top! Now the Torah begins to describe Rachel and Leah. Yaakov said, if I'll take Leah, if there's any chance that after Elif has cleaned me out that I would let it go, this chance will be lost. For sure it's gonna come to kill me. So let me stick to the one that is meant for me, the young guest. Rabotai, I want to tell you a quick story. There are two crooks who went to a department store that sells electric devices. They ask about one device. The owner of the store says 5,000 shekels. Two crooks, they have no intention to pay. No intention to pay. So they say to him, no, it's too much, 5,000. 3,000. No, no, absolutely not, I can't, I'm gonna lose. All right, the owner says 40,000. '4,500.' 'No, no, 4,000.' 'No, I can't, 4,200.' They argue. In the meantime, he got distracted, so one crook asked his friend, 'Tell me, why are you arguing with him? Anyway, we have no intention to pay.' So he told him, 'Yes, but it breaks my heart to make him lose so much.' Meaning, If we say $5,000 and the check would bounce, he's gonna burn his heart that he had $5,000 and in the end he didn't get it. If we bring him down to $3,000 and he will agree, he will only feel bad that he lost $3,000. Why should we do it to this old man? Those are crooks with conscience. They feel bad for their victims. Victim. Remember once I told you the story about in Jerusalem about Mr. Vaknin? Mr. Vaknin is a Moroccan Jew who has a beautiful habit. Every Thursday night between 8 and 9 PM, he gather all his grandchildren to his apartment in Jerusalem and he teach them the Parasha of the week with Rashi. They all come, we teach them. Okay. One time his wife told him, listen, the house is completely empty. I don't— tomorrow it's a short day, Friday, and we don't have anything. Tell the kids to come tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I need you to go to the shuk, to the market in Machaneh Huda, get me some fruits, vegetables, some, you know, we don't have anything in the house. He told her, "I'm sorry, we'll manage. Whatever I get tomorrow, you cook something light, it's okay." "Come on, don't be like this. I need things, Chaval. I'm wasting my entire Thursday night." "I don't change the schedule. Tomorrow morning I'll go early." The kids came around 9:00, 9:15, they finished, all the kids left. 5 minutes later, they knock on the door. He thought one of the kids probably forgot something. He opened the door. A robber with a gun, a mask on his face. "Give me all your money!" This Mr. Vaknin was very clever. He said to him, "What money? We are so poor, we don't have money to buy food!" 'Look, tomorrow it's Shabbat. Open the fridge.' Empty. 'Open the closet.' We don't even have one onion here. We don't have meat, we don't have fish, we don't have bread even for Shabbat. We are now crying thinking, 'What are we going to eat tomorrow for Shabbat?' You came to Rabba us. No, you have a Jewish rabbi. He has a conscience. Ah, the heck with you, grandpa. He took out 300 shekels. Here, hey, have Shabbat on me. Have Shabbat on me. Ah, do you ever believe such thing? Would you ever believe that you sticking to the shiur Torah and not canceling it will bring you the all expenses of Shabbat right to your door in such a weird way. It reminds me, there was one Afrek. He went to Jerusalem for Shabbat and he wanted to— he lived in Jerusalem but he wanted to do Shabbat by the Kotel. So he comes to Daven Mincha by the Kotel, by the Western Wall, and and he borrowed money from the Gemach, $2,000. Gemach, it's like a Jewish bank that lends money with no interest to people that need. Rich people put their money in a bank, in a Gemach, Gemilut Hasadim, and they use the money to lend it to people. And they, you know, the money is there for the time being instead of being in a checking account not gaining any interest. Let them at least lend it to people. It's very common in Israel. Hundreds of Gemachim like this. So he borrowed from the Gemach. He has to return it to the Gemach, but he didn't have the money. So he started to borrow from other Gemach. From this Gemach $500, from the other Gemach $500 in order for him to pay the $2,000 before it expires. So now he came to the Gemach about 40 minutes before Shabbat. He has to go to the Kotel to daven Mincha and the Gemach is right there, walking distance. So he knocked on the door. Nobody opens the door. Shabbat! What am I gonna do with the money now? I cannot keep the money on Shabbat. He keeps knocking on the door of the Gemach. It don't open. He hears noise inside. Nobody opens the door. I'm gonna miss Mincha. 'What am I going to do with the money?' 'You're not allowed to keep the money with you on Shabbat.' He said, 'Let me go up to the Jewish quarter, to the Old City. I look for a house with nice mezuzah, knock on their door and ask them to keep the money by them for Shabbat.' He knocked on the door, a fancy lady opened. In the Old City, you have to be rich to live there. I knew one bedroom is over $1 million. So it's rich people, almost all of them Americans. So they open, she opened the door, "Hi, can I help you?" Who's coming to collect Tzedakah half an hour before Shabbat? She knew something is wrong. She say, "I tell you what happened. I came to Daven by the Kotel. I was supposed to drop $2,000 by the Gemara. Today it's the last day." day nobody opened the door and I'm stuck with this $2,000. I cannot keep it by me on Shabbat. I was looking for a house on the Mezuzah. Maybe you can keep the money by you and I'll come tomorrow night and pick it up. He said, oh, no problem, absolutely. Come tomorrow after Shabbos. He came tomorrow night. He saw that the envelope is a lot fatter. He count the money. He I said, "Sorry, I only gave you $2,000." She said, "Someone gave us $2,000 to give to poor people. We didn't know who to give. We see a sign from Shamayim, we have to give it to you. If you borrow from other Gemara to pay, like you said, nobody deserves it more than you." She gave him extra $2,000. He went quickly after Shabbat pay the Gemara and pay all the other Gemara, clean all his debt. That's how the Avrechim lives in Israel. Same, the guys that learns in my Yeshiva, like this. Every week a new miracle. How they survive, only Hashem knows. Would you ever believe such thing? You're looking for a place to store the money until tomorrow night. Baruch Hashem, And the owner of that house was not Lavan. So you come and say, "What money? You owe us money. What money you give us?" This was Lavan tricking Yaakov for 20 years. So Yaakov is telling— he knows that Lavan is going to pull a trick because he knows Lavan is going to tell him, we don't marry the young daughter before we marry the older one. So he gives Rachel signs. I want to remind you, there was no electric back then. At night you could not see images. You barely have some light from the candles on the side of the house. So you couldn't recognize the girl. Even if you look, it would look like a dark image. They anyway look alike. It's hard to tell. He gives her a sign. When we gonna go back home before this crew gonna pull a trick, he teaches her certain halachot and she's supposed to answer him what he said. Simanim, like a password. Rachel is thinking, how I'm going to embarrass my sister? Why is it her fault? She's gonna get the embarrassment now. So she tells her sister the signs. Yaakov is after the wedding. He comes to the room. What does he find out? She knows all the answers. Okay. The Torah says, "Vayibaboker ve'inei le'ah." In the morning sunrise. You see, eh? It's not Rachel, it's Leah. Disaster! Wow! It's paranoia. First, how did he trick me like this? I agreed to work 7 years for Rachel, he gives me Leah. Second, how did Leah trick me like this, cooperating with her sister to deceive me? Third, how did I get myself into such a mess with Esav, I thought I got away with him murdering me. Imagine he finds out I stole his Tzeduk. Yaakov is in a deep hole. The story becomes very, very dramatic. I want to ask you a question. Leah, the Midrash says, he said to Leah, what are you doing here? I didn't marry you. So she said to him, I'm your Shidduch, but I agree with father to marry Rachel. He said, but Rachel is not your first Shidduch. I'm supposed to be your Shidduch. I am the firstborn and you bought the firstborn title from your brother Esav. Once you bought his inheritance, you got me as well. I was meant for him. What is this? Do you really believe that Leah will tell Yaakov such a thing? It's chutzpah, no? She said to him, "What do you want? You deceived your father, you got the blessing. You deceived Esav, you became the firstborn. Now you got me." So it's midah keneged midah, measure for measure. A deceiver for a deceiver. True or false? Painful truth. But how do you dare to say such a thing to such a holy man? Besides, how exactly your marriage is going to be? A normal man would want to look at such a woman that pushed herself into his bedroom by a trick like that? Every normal man would tell her, just get out of here, I don't want to ever see your face. What do you think I'm going to be with you? I have children with someone like you? Children of my kids will be such a crook? You're a crook like your father. Let me give you a get and goodbye. But what are the options? What is he going to do now? Go back to to his parents, to Esav, for Esav to kill him? Where will he go? It's a catch-22. So what are we going to do now? So first we have to understand, Leah was very holy. She's one of the 4 mothers of the Jewish nation, the chosen people. If she was a deceiver or crook or anything wicked, she would not become the mother of the tribes, especially when she had more kids than any other mother from the other 3. That means she— half of the Jewish nation came from her. 6 men, 6 tribes, and Dina. 6 tribes came from her alone. The other 6 from Rachel and Zilpah and Bilhah. Do you really think that Leah here is to get Yaakov? She said to him, It's not up to me. It's all from Shamayim. When you became the firstborn, firstborn was supposed to get me. I prayed for all my life not to fall in the hand of Esav. Finally Hashem accepted my prayers and you became the firstborn. So I became yours. My life just got saved. Do you know how I would suffer to live with such a monster, lashakaze, hunter? Doesn't sit a day to learn. Ah, now it sounds completely different. So whatever you did, it was all "Min HaShamayim." I got saved, it's all from my prayers. Look, I have no eyelashes left from how much I cried. I don't understand. Okay, Yakov accept that. He comes to Lavan. What did you do to me? Don't worry, we don't marry the young before the old. Work another 7 years and I'll give you Rachel. But don't worry, you don't have to wait 7 years. I don't want my daughter to sit here in my house 7 years and eat from my own plate. You can have her tomorrow. We'll finish the Sefer HaBrachot for Leah. You marry her a week later, not to mix simcha with simcha. So what, in 6 days from now you marry her. And then you only 7 years of work. I want to remind you that the first 7 years Yaakov suggested. When you love a woman, it doesn't matter if 1, 3, 5, 7 years, 20 years. The Torah said that it was for him like few days. He works like a slave, but why does he care? He's with the love of his life. He's so happy that the work that he does for her father does not even bother him. Why? I got what I wanted. So work for me 7 more years, fine. Everybody now got what they wanted. Lavan got what he wanted, Leah got what she what she wanted. Rachel in the end got almost everything she wanted because she married a tzaddik. He got what he wanted, he got Rachel. But whose fault is for this whole mess? Who really the one to be blamed here? Rachel. She's the one who gave the secrets to Leah. If she wouldn't, Laban couldn't trick him. I'm sorry, it's not her. It's me, kachtaut. I'm unable to marry her. The marriage is annulled. But Yaakov does not have one complaint against Rachel from now until the day passed, she passed. We don't find anywhere that Yaakov came to her and told her, how could you have done such a thing to me? Trusted you, I gave you the secrets and you sold me out? Not a word about it. Rav Shalom Shvadron, the great speaker from the past generation, you would hear his speech, you would be electrified. He brought a story with Chazon Ish. Chazon Ish was one of the biggest Chachamim. His mother was a holy woman. All her sons were all big big rabbis and all her sons-in-law were all biggest rabbis in the world. Imagine this. You have 4 or 5 sons, all of them big giant holy chachamim. Then you have daughters, all of them married the biggest chachamim. The Steipler was one of them, the father of Rav Chaim Kanievsky. What is the merit of the mother of the chazon Ish? That every one of her sons was the the biggest Chachamim in the world. Every one of them. Not just rabbis. Holy like beyond words. And the daughters are all married to the holiest people. Imagine what a family. You sit in one table, all the biggest rabbis in the world in one room. Hazon Ish, he obviously was the biggest. He asked 2 people that were close to him to do him a favor and try to find shiduch for one Jew. Please, it's very important for me if you can find shiduch for that gentleman. They tried their best and in the end they succeeded. The Chazon Ish said, of course I'm going to come to the L'Chaim. You know, you tell me what time and I will show up. The Chazon Ish Every minute by him was precious, calculated to the seconds. So he said, just do me a favor, after everyone will enter the room, right, then knock on my door and I'll come. I don't want to waste time because every minute for him is learning. When everyone was in the room, the two people came to the Chazon Ish, they knocked on his door. And they see from the window the Chazon Ish is sitting with an old man and an old woman and speaking to them. They don't want to interrupt. They waited a few minutes. The Chazon Ish saw them and continued to speak to this old couple. They made some movements that in case he didn't see them. He saw them but continued to talk to this old couple. Old couple. They don't know what to do. Everyone is waiting. They waited and waited. Chazon Ish continued to talk to them. They thought, "The Chazon Ish knows everyone is waiting for him. He knows. What's the point of telling him?" But he continued to sit and talk with smile to this couple. They probably speaking about the most important subject and urgent that could be. They came closer to listen and they hear the old man ask the Chazon Ish, "How many red stripes I should buy?" He said, "Buy 12." "How many needles I should buy?" "Buy 15 needles." "Rabbi, there are no buttons who came to the store now." They are with gold and black in the middle. How many I should buy from those buttons? He said, oh, something new? Buy 6 of them. They cannot believe what's going on. That's the conversation? Finally, they finished with all their lists. They say goodbye and they left. The Chazon Ish quickly took his coat and started to walk walk with them to the catering hall. He said to them on the way, you're probably wondering why I said and delayed you. They say, yes, we very much want to know what was that. He said, this old couple are Holocaust survivors. They lost all their family in the Holocaust and they left alone in the world. They came to me. I told them they should buy a tailor shop that they should fix. They wanted to know what to do. They should sew and fix things for the community. So from time to time they come to me to ask me how much merchandise they should buy, how much from each, and I sit with them and the purpose really is to cheer them up, to comfort them for the situation. They say, okay, Rabbi, it's very nice of you, but don't you know that so many people are waiting there for the Rav to come, that it should start? If this mercy doesn't come on the expense of the public, the Chazon Ish says, and the public over there don't have to participate in taking care of this old couple, it's their obligation. Nobody was able to do it besides me, so I'm their messenger. I did it for all of them because it's their obligation. So because I did it for every one of them, they can donate few minutes of their time for the cause. Why am I telling you this story now? This was Rav Schwadron, he told that story about the Chazon Ish when he came to the story of Rachel. Rachel, she gave the signs, the marks that she made with Yaakov to Leah. She knew that she's hurting Yaakov. Obviously, there was supposed to be a password between you and me. She also knew Yaakov is obligated like him care not to offend Leah in front of all the guests, in front of the whole world. What are they gonna find out? That in the middle of the ceremony he's gonna make a scene and say, "What, you're tricking me? You're giving me Leah?" And Leah is gonna stand there in front of everyone embarrassed. So there was no point of even telling Yaakov because for sure Yaakov won't have another option to insult the person in front of the whole people. So Yaakov knew that he had no claim against her. It's written, "Vayehav gam et Rachel mileah." Yaakov loved Rachel also more than Leah. Also, what does it mean also? Meaning he also loved Leah. Nothing is wrong with Leah. But he loves Rachel more. How come later in the Parasha it's written that Hashem saw that Leah is hated and Hashem opened her wounds and she started to have one son after the other? Reuben, Shimon, Levi, all these kids. So from here we learned something very interesting. Love and hate It's relative. Love and hate, there is no black and white. There's a lot of gray, dark gray, light gray, strong black, weak black. There's different levels of love. When you love one individual 70% and then you have someone you love 95%, compared to the one you love 95%, the 70% looks like a hate. When people see how you behave with a person you love 95% or 100%, they assume that you don't care about the other one. But what happens if the other one would come to you with someone you love only 30%? The 70% would look like the love of your life compared to the 30%. So it's all relative. Same thing when you ask a person, "Tell me, are you rich or poor?" You can tell him, "I'm rich," or you can tell him, "I'm poor," and both of them are, by the way, not a lie. Every person in the world can say, when you ask him this question, "Are you wealthy?" He could say yes, he can say no. None of that is a lie. How come? Saying one thing and the opposite in is the same thing? The answer is it all depends compared to whom. Compared to Trump, I'm poor. Compared to Bachur Yeshiva, I'm rich. He has $20 in his pocket and I have Baruch Hashem more. Compared to all these billionaires, I'm nothing. I can't even be their servant. I have to apply. They may approve me, maybe, to be a driver of one of these billionaires. So it's all relative. Same thing when it comes to love, same thing when it comes to wisdom. Are you smart or stupid? Compared to whom? Compared to Hussein Obama, I'm a genius. Compared to Avovadia, I'm a monkey. Monkey brain. Depends who you compare me to. Compare me to Rav Ben Zion Abba Sha'ul, maybe, maybe if I'm lucky, I'm 1% of him. Compare me to Hussein Obama, I'm a thousand times smarter than this fool. And Sleepy Joe, 2,000 times. Yeah, why? Check every decision they make. Total idiots. With Iran, with the gays, with all all the things they ever did. It's all against Hashem. Those are fools. Or in general, the Gemara says secular people, the older they get, the dumber they get. Bnei Torah, people that learn Torah all their life, the older they get, the smarter they get. When they are 90, they are a lot smarter than when they were 70. But if you take some billionaire, talk to him when he's 40, sharp, clever. Meet him again when he's 75, 80, see how dumb he became. Like a little child. Check a lot of old people, they become like kids. They act like kids. All day crying from the room, get me What there? Why nobody comes to see me? Like little kids. Make me tea. No, make me coffee. This, I'm this, I'm that. Why? That's the way the world is. Hashem made it like that. When you're full of Torah, it's like wine. The older it gets, the better it gets. If you don't learn Torah Now it's like milk. The older it gets, I don't have to tell you what it becomes. So, Rabotai, one girl asked me today a question: is Hashem responsible for our feelings? Good question, no? Young girl. What would you answer this? No, I want to hear. Religious people. Ah? Hashem responsible for our feelings? Our free choice is only our choice or our ability to exert our will is only immoral decisions, good or bad. Yeah. We put ourselves into a negative state, therefore attract negative emotions. So we have that choice. Beautiful. That's exactly the answer I gave there. A little bit different, but the same idea. Feelings is reflection of actions. But it's also a reflection of education. Meaning, If your parents raise you to be an antisemite Nazi, that your life should be kill all Jews. So therefore, when you grow up as a Nazi, as a racist, when you become 25 and you hear that 20 Jews just got murdered somewhere, lo alenu, it brings you joy. Why? You feel great. Wow, the thing I love the most just happened. If your parents raise you to be anti-racist, to love every human being, to respect them, to feel bad when innocent people get murdered, when you hear on the news that 20 people got killed, Jews, Blacks, anyone, doesn't matter, it breaks your heart. It brings sadness to you. How one transaction bring joy to Hans and bring a broken heart to Josef? The answer is feelings and emotions is a reflection of understanding, of knowledge, of how you were raised and what information was pushed into your computer, meaning the way your computer was programmed, that's how your feelings will follow. So if they teach you to always be modest and always hate abomination, when you see modest people, immediately you love them. You have feelings of love. When you see naked people on the street like animals, dress like animals, and behave like animals, you immediately despise them and their action to the point that you want to vomit when you see them. Someone who was raised like an animal, he himself walks naked or she, have no problem having friends like that. Tell me who your friend, I tell you who you are. But when they raise you in a holy place with with religion, with dignity. So every time you see something against the way you were brought up, it reflects negative feelings. Someone that is wicked admired wickedness. Not always, by the way. I'll give you an example. Wicked people, they were taught in school not to be a murderer, right? When you go to public school, You have conversation with your teacher, the gay teacher in Manhattan. When he speaks to his student about a murder that happened somewhere in America, the gay teacher, as wicked as he is, he's going to tell the student it's a horrible behaving to murder innocent people, right? He's gonna tell them shame on him, such a monster, how can he murder such such people for no reason. So the people learned when they were young, the kids, that you should not be a killer, should not murder, right? One of them became a murderer 10, 15 years later. He himself went and killed. He was brought up not to be a murderer, but he went and killed. So it doesn't really mean that if you know it in in your brain that it's not allowed to do, that you're still gonna adopt that and practice what you learn. With your free will, you can do the opposite of what you were brought up. So it's not enough just to have the right education. Some people were raised as religious students in yeshiva. And what happened to them? They became very wicked, like this woman who made a show, whatever, everyone was talking about this Reshait, which for her they're making a new hell. They already for the past 2 years there's new constructions over there. They making a special section just for her because regular hell is not enough for such a monster like this woman. So, you know, she obviously knows what's right and wrong. She turned against everything that is divine and Hashem paid for all the good years that she was madres, that she used to learn Torah, she was acting according to Torah, eating kosher, making brachot. Since immediately she lost her Olam Haba, when will Hashem pay her? Pay her with millions of dollars and some fame and a show, whatever she does. But this party is about to be over soon. And when the hell will begin? Oh, she's gonna miss every minute she was in Monsey, in a good place, in yeshiva, married to a religious man. She's gonna miss very much all the people she's badmouthing. Right now Hashem gives the power of will, the free will. You're allowed to talk and say whatever you want. Freedom of speech. But words have consequences. And those consequences have reward or punishment. No one can escape it. So the answer is feelings are coming as results of our actions and results of our ideology. If your ideology hates what Hashem hates, every time you see something against Hashem, it would reflect in your emotions pain, agony, disappointment, frustration, hate, anger, etc. All the negative replies. And if it's things that are pro-God, modesty, Torah, kindness, honesty, when you see people around you doing doing such a thing, it makes you happy. You fall in love with them. You admire them. You want to be around them. You contribute to them. You want to become their partner. You want to marry her or him. Why? Why you love me so much? For my beautiful eyes? No! I only love you because you teach Torah or because you give Tzedakah. Or because you help the poor. I remember one time I wanted to invest money. I didn't know what to do. I had a little savings. It was over 23 years ago. So what should I do? Looking for a source of income. I had a seminar in New Jersey. One guy, back then you used Telephone just came out, cell phones, it was something new, all the new services. There was one person who had 7 Israelis working for him in his new company. He sent them to the seminar in New Jersey. It was Friday, they arrived an hour before Shabbat. When they arrived to the lobby of the hotel, the girls that sitting there collecting money for the seminar, she said, "How are you paying for the seminar?" 7 Israeli mechalelei Shabbat, ponytails, hair, you know, back then there was no ripped jeans yet. It wasn't in style yet. So they have jeans but not ripped. They said, "We didn't know we have to pay." She called up the rabbi. "Rabbi, what should I do?" "Who sent them?" "That guy." "Call him." She called him. She said, "Listen, it's $200 each one of them." He said, "Ah, I didn't know that it costs money. No problem, I'll pay you for all 7." I want to save their souls. In one second. I knew that guy, but not as much. That second I fell in love with him. Then I found out he's looking for an investor. I found him an investor. The minute he said, "No problem, so I'll pay for them." He didn't say, "Okay, listen, I already sent them to you. You'll find the money. I should also pay for them." Well, back then $200 was like $600, $700 today, in case you don't know. It's over 23 years ago. For $200, you would buy what you buy for $700 today. Multiply by 7 guys, almost like $5,000 of today. In one second, he agreed to pay for all of them. They only work for him and not their children. When I found out he's looking for investor, I made a shiddua. Took between him and someone else who went with him into business and helped him out. Why did I feel obligated to help him? I didn't have any connection with him until that day. I loved him because he loved Hashem's children. Immediately I identified with him because I felt the same like him. That's— we have an obligation to save every soul. Nothing disappoints It hurts me more than these rich, stingy people who accumulate millions and don't care to donate even $1,000 a month to save souls. When they waste in a dinner more than that. In a dinner, in a restaurant here in Manhattan. They go to this fancy restaurant, they brag, "Rabbi, we went to that restaurant in downtown in Wall Street." spent $1,500 just on alcohol. And I don't know if to cry or to laugh, to laugh at their stupidity or to cry on the situation. The same people that burn on every little stupid shot, $30, $40 in a restaurant, you come and tell them, listen, with this money you spend tonight on alcohol, we would save 100 Jews. We'll make them Shabbat with $1,500. $100 million. Think about it. They wouldn't agree to give. To burn it on those stupid things. It's one thing you buy a nice bottle at home and you drink, no problem. But to go to restaurant, you pay 10 times more, you know, in a restaurant. And it's no problem. If you're wealthy, live like a king. Nobody told you not to live. We live well. Enjoy life, no problem. It's not a crime to live comfortable, to have a comfortable home, a comfortable house, nice clothes. Not again, as long as you don't become an addict of these things. That's already a problem. When materialism takes over your life, you're a miserable human being. If you use it for good things, your house is for, you know, guests and lectures and all kinds of good things. Then you wonder, you come to Hashem, say, "You gave me some blessing, I use it to help people." That's wonderful. But if it's only that and no, you don't care not about yeshivas. I remember, I'll never forget, there was one Bukharian family who made a very fancy wedding. I don't know, maybe 15 years ago. The mother, she wasn't so religious. Her son was bachor yeshiva, baal teshuvah, tzaddik. His parents pay for the wedding. I don't have to tell you, a fancy Bukharian wedding is probably back then $300 a person. Today maybe it's more. So he wanted to bring his entire I brought my yeshiva, his entire yeshiva to the wedding. How many boys? 30 or 40. She did the calculation, 30 boys, they're not going to bring a gift. They're bachorei shiva, single bachorei shiva, they don't have money. And if they bring, ah, they can bring a book. They're not going to bring $300. That means I'm going to lose $9,000 on these 30 yeshiva boys. She told him, "No, I cannot invite your friends from yeshiva." "What, you serious? Who's gonna make the party there without my friends in yeshiva? I'm sorry, you want us to pay for the wedding? We have our conditions. We don't bring poor people that will not cover their cost." Guess what happened to her? You're not gonna believe it. She gets it after the wedding, after everything. She gets a call from someone who identified him as an IRS officer, and he told her, you're about to go into a very big mess. The IRS has been monitoring you. You are going to lose a lot of money and to go to jail. I can make it go away. Away. He calls her from a caller ID that shows IRS, you know, the fake cards that you buy and they show fake number. What does she know from her life? Meet me by this place with $9,000 cash and I'm going to make everything go away. But if you wait until tomorrow, I cannot help you. Right now I can get it out of the computer and you're going to be Free and clear. I bury the investigation against you. You have few hours. That day we get a message at night, 9 o'clock at night. Please pray for this woman. She is missing from the afternoon. Nobody knows where she is. She doesn't answer her phone. Nobody saw her. Where she is? She went for from one ATM to another to get cash. And he told her, make sure don't speak to anyone because if you speak to anyone and this is going to go away, I won't be able to help you. How much she collected? $9,000 and gave it to that crook. There was no IRS, no nothing. Scam. After I heard that, I did the calculation how much would be. I investigated how much would be the meals of the Bahuray Shiva— $9,000. Exactly. She didn't want to bring them into the wedding because they're poor. This is how stupid we are. And if you think that this is a bad woman, change your mind. Good person, good family. It's just the Satan play with her head. The whole purpose of the meal of the wedding is to bring poor people, not to make a business out of it. You're afraid to pay for the meal? Make $20 a meal. In Lakewood, they have weddings, you pay $30 a person, $40 a person. The whole wedding, include everything, is less than $20,000. Organ, little music, people come, they make very happy. Yeah, there's no fancy food. It's called Takana wedding. Simple. If you already decide to make a show-off, you cannot tell poor people don't come because you're poor and you're not gonna cover your meal. That's crazy. But there are people like this. Also, there are people who do not agree to let their kids go on shidduch only if the other side is very wealthy. Every offer they get and they check that the parents are not rich, immediately they cancel the option. These are also losers, these people. They have no emunah in Hashem. They have emunah in people. But they have no Emunah in Hashem. How many times you're going to marry your child to some rich family and a year later the guy will be in jail for FBI fraud? You know how many times I saw cases like this? In one minute they'll be on the street. No one will pay their bills, nothing. They have a house, this, mortgage, the father was paying, got arrested. Then what? Or how many times was the other way around? They marry someone, started with nothing, 10 years later they made it. I can give you hundreds of examples. I want to just finish. So if somebody was cheated like Yaakov, that this crook is taking advantage of him for 20 years, work another 7 years. Yaakov does not make a beep. The same way he worked 7 years faithfully, he worked 7 more years with 100% effort. How do we know? Because there is a verse in the Torah when Laban chased Yaakov. Yaakov said, "I'm working for you like a slave." Freezing at night, ice. Vati dach natimeni. I couldn't sleep at night from the hard work. Complete devotions I gave you for 20 years. You blaming me for taking my wives and leaving? Lavan, the ultimate crook. Yaakov, the ultimate honest man. Perfect tzaddik. Lavan is chasing him. Hashem comes to him in a dream, "Be careful, don't talk to Yaakov anything from good to bad." Bad, we understand, but why not good? Hashem should have said, "Don't do anything bad to Yaakov." Good? "Ad rabat," speak to him good. Maybe it's trying time to give him compensation for all the tricks you did to him. But Hashem does not agree that he will say to Yaakov anything, nothing good and nothing bad. Why not good? If someone wicked and a crook speaks good, it's also bad. You don't want anything from this kind of people. Do not want to accept anything from this kind of people. Don't do us a favor. We'll manage without you. He comes to Yaakov, who stole my God? One time there was a fire in the house of a Jew. The firefighters do everything they can to put the fire off and the Jew started to scream. "Baruch Atah Hashem Elokeinu Melech HaOlam Sheloh Asani Goy." "Bless You, God, that did not make me an angel." What does it have to do now with the fire? Imagine this. People thought because his entire house is going on fire now, probably lost everything he had, he maybe lost I lost my mind. It can happen to someone that his heart is totally broken. So everyone was in tears. "Oh, look at this poor Jew. He already lost his mind." The Jew saw that they all have pity on him. He started to smile. Now, by now they were sure that he's crazy. He said, "I know you're all wondering why I screamed this bracha." He said, "Because if I was a goy, my God would also burn with my house. At least now my God is safe." That once my God is safe, I know I'm in his hand. If my God would be in a house and will get burned, who would I turn to help? That's Lavan, the fool. After he speaks to Hashem, he runs to Yaakov, "Who stole my god? You left me without my god!" If he didn't speak to Hashem, it'd still be pure stupidity. After Hashem came to him and warned him, by now you should have thought, you know, get rid of this small stupid idol. Wicked people, they already see the furnace in hell waiting for them and they still have ego games. "No, I won't repent. No one will tell me what to do." Okay, you'll find the hard way. You'll learn the hard way. You don't want to learn the easy way? We'll teach you in a different way. Over here everyone learns in the end. What's right and what's wrong. So Rabotai, Yaakov sees all of that, that's it. There's no point of staying silent forever. Vayichar leYaakov, Yaakov got upset. Vayarev belavan, they started to argue. 20 years of silence exploded right now. 20 years, Rabotai. 20 years Yaakov lives with this crook deceiving him nonstop. Not one time he attacked him until this moment. Let's understand the secret here and we'll finish right here for today. We have a big secret over here. We say, "Ani ma'amin be'munash lema." I believe in complete faith. "Shaboret barach shmo." The Creator, His name may be blessed. "Hu bore'u manig lecholabuim." It's one of the 13 principles of Judaism. He is the Creator and He is the Director, meaning direct people, all the creations that He made. "Hu levado asa." He made it by Himself, Vero Se, and still do by Himself, Ve Ya Se, and will do by Himself to everything around. If someone believes in it, not just by words, by real belief, he knows that Lavan cannot touch you unless Hashem wants you to lose, or he cannot give you something unless Hashem wants you to have it. If Hashem I decree on Rosh Hashanah that I will have, I will have. And if not, nothing will help me. Lavan is only a puppet. He's not even a factor. Yaakov is strong emunah in Hashem. He's just a puppet. Hashem is moving him according to his decisions. Therefore, Yaakov says, why should I even get angry at Lavan? A dog. That you beat him with a stick. He bites at the stick. He wants to bite the stick. He barks at the stick. If you throw the stick away, the dog will chase the stick and bark for an hour. The dog doesn't understand the stick is not his enemy. The person that hit him is the enemy, but the dog doesn't understand it. There are many people that are worse than dogs. They never see that Hashem is doing what he does to them. They always find who to blame. It's because of him, it's because of her. No, no. In the prophet Samuel B., chapter 16, there's a story about King David. He runs away from Avshalom, his son. His son Avshalom declared the war against his own father. King David goes on the side of the mountain and he sees a person, Shimei ben Gera from the family of Saul. Shaul. Shaul is his enemy, King Saul. He sees Shimei ben Gera comes and begins to curse David. Horrible curses. Shimei ben Gera was not a dog. He was the head of the Sanhedrin. When someone like this curses you, it's no joke. Yeah, if some lowlife on the street curses you, Big deal. It's an animal. But when you have the head of the Sanhedrin, someone that is important, is cursing David such curses. Horrible words he say to David. Very painful. Vayomer Avishai ben Zeruiah el HaMelech. Avishai is the assistant of David. He said, why this dog, this dead dog, is cursing your majesty? You're the king. How does he dare to talk to you like this? Allow me to go and remove his head off. Let me put him to silence. Why? Someone who rebel against the king, no matter who he is, must be killed. That's the law. And what does David answer him? David said to him, "Leave him alone. He kills me because Hashem told him kill." You don't understand that it's all from Hashem? What is the point of killing him? Hashem amar lok alel. Hashem told him kill. If we will be righteous and do teshuvah, he would not curse us. The insult that we got right now, what is it? Is 100% a sign that if we were innocent, it wouldn't happen. And this is what life is all about. By the way, before David died, he asked his son Shlomo to execute him. He never forgave him for that. Why? Because the law is that he had to die. That's the law. Even though Hashem sent him and all that, he has a free will. Who told you to go and curse the king? Somebody else could have cursed him. Doesn't have to be you. Same thing why the Egyptians are being punished for enslaving the Jews. Hashem already decreed to Abraham that the Jews have to be slaves in Egypt, so the Egyptians does— they do the will of Hashem. What do you want from them? The answer is yes, Egypt supposed to torture the Jews, but nowhere does it say which Egyptians have to do it. Who told you to run and volunteer to to do it? There are millions of other Egyptians. Why you want to do it? Let somebody else do it. Nobody force you to do it. Egypt will do it, but who told you to be the Egyptians that runs to torture the children of Hashem? The Torah said the goyim will hate the Jews. Alaha essav zonele Yaakov. But he did not decree on every individual. Who told you to want to be an anti-Semite Nazi? Let other goyim hate the Jews. You be smart, defend them, bless them. Why? The Torah say anyone who be nice to them, I'll be nice to him. Everyone that will curse them, I will curse him. The Jews must suffer from the goyim. Must. The goyim are the pointed gun into the head of the Jews. Jews. Without it, the Jews will go completely off the track. What keeps them still with Hashem are two reasons. One of them is the Torah, and the second reason is the hate of the goyim. In reality, antisemitism is a blessing to the Jewish people. Why? Every time we forget that Hashem told us, do not mix with the other nations, don't assimilate, don't behave like them, don't imitate them, don't be materialistic like them, don't follow their fake religion, don't marry them, and we broke all Hashem's demands. The goyim were the ones to remind us, we don't want you, you dirty Jew. In Germany, the Jew was not allowed to marry a German. The other way around. A Jew cannot sit on the same bench like an Aryan German. A Jew that have a nice job, at one point, "We don't want you here. You cannot be anymore a teacher or a judge." So whatever Hashem told the Jews to do and they didn't care, Hashem made the Nazis remind the Jews We don't want you here. We don't want to marry you. We don't want you to dress like us. We don't want you to be like us. Go! We don't want you. Later they killed them. Same thing in Egypt. When the Jews were in Goshen, the Egyptians didn't touch them. Why? They're not among us. They don't marry us. They don't do business with us. We don't have to see them. Once the Jews left Goshen, The ocean moved and filled up Egypt. The Egyptians went crazy and the slavery began and the rest is history. Everywhere else in history was the same. Same thing here in America. If the Jews were isolated in shivot, in ghettos, in their neighborhoods, only together with each other, don't go on the media, don't become lawyers, don't become prosecutors, become judges, don't become real estate tycoons, don't live in mansions, don't drive fancy cars, do not become the landlords of half of this country, you would not hear a beep from the goyim. If the Jews would not marry American goyim, the goyim wouldn't have any business with us. Once the Jews violate all the rules of the Torah and did everything the Torah say not to do, Hashem ignite. Hashem has two buttons with the volume, like a demon. He raised the volume on the antisemitism according to the need. Now almost every Jew marry a non-Jew. Let's bring Kanye West, the wacko, to start barking. And another Nazi idiot. Let's get Trump, the genius, to invite them to his place. 'Let's bring some fear into the mind of these Jews. Maybe they'll wake up.' Will they wake up? Only Hashem knows. Unfortunately, history shows that no matter how many times they killed us, we went back to our evil way shortly after we forgot. And I will finish with a story that you probably heard few times for me, but it's now the time to remind you. There was one Israeli soldier, religious, datila umi, tzioni tzioini, kippas ruga, kippa mitzvot. He fell in love with a German volunteer in a kibbutz somewhere in Israel. You know, some goyim come to volunteer "Come here for a month in Israel." She came, pretty German girl, granddaughter of a Nazi. He started to socialize with her right away. You know, the Torah says what's allowed, what's not allowed. He didn't care so much what's allowed. Fell in love with her. Decided to get married to her. Torah doesn't allow, but he said to his friends, "I know I'm not allowed, what can I do? I can't live without him." His friends told him, "Come on, you're a religious Jew, you know, secular people unfortunately they do these things, but you have a yarmulke on your head, how are you going to marry a German girl? Your grandparents died in the Holocaust, you're going to marry a German girl? What are you going to do?" "I can't control it." "when are you going to get married?" "Sunday." "Where?" "In a church in Berlin." In a church they have a wedding hall. You're gonna get married in a church in Germany when your grandparents are victims of the Holocaust? Do you know how many Nazis gonna be there? No matter what they say, "I know, I know, you don't have to tell me, I know all of that." She stole my heart. I can't control it. They're thinking, how are we going to save this guy? 3 guys from the commando and he is their friend from the commando. This is the top soldiers in an elite unit. So before he flies to Germany, that either Motzi Shabbos or Sunday early morning They told him, "Pass by our house, we got you a gift. We're not gonna see you, moving to Germany." He came in, they said, "We made you a nice surprise, you'll never forget us." They took him to the room, there are 3 gorillas against 1, pushed him into the room and locked the room with a key. "What is this, a joke? You're not coming out of there until tomorrow." 'Open the door! You have tefillin, you have food, you have a bathroom there, you have everything you need.' On the windows you have bars in Israel. He can't go anywhere. He knocks on the door. His wedding starts in a few hours in Germany. He knocks on the door for hours, all day, screaming, cursing, threatening, lawsuit. They don't care. Finally, when he just missed his wedding, they knew he cannot make it. It's a Sunday wedding, the day is over. They open the door, he comes out fighting, fistfight, 3 against 1. Quickly run to call that Christina. Imagine the embarrassment she had with all the hundreds of guests. 'Where is that Jew? Did not show up. Big embarrassment.' Soon as she picked up the phone, 'Where the heck are you, you dirty Jew? They warned me from you. Hitler should have finished the job.' 15 minutes she was cursing the Jews. Wasn't about him, all the Nazi words came out. And he kept fighting with told them that she loves the Jews, she's not like them, just because her grandparents were Nazis doesn't mean she is. After all the things she was saying, he put the phone down, looked at them, didn't know where to hide from the embarrassment. I was about to marry this woman and she tells me Hitler should have finished the job. How she want to marry a Jew if she's such a Nazi? Nazi. No understanding here. Do you understand what happened here, Rabbi Peiksohn? His life got saved. Imagine he will go there, have few kids that are goyim, and then she will kick him out and that will be the end of it. That's probably happened to hundreds of millions of Jews in the last 2,000 years. They all got disappeared over the nations. Do you understand? That's very sad. So every time things like this happen, Hashem ignites the Arabs, ignites the Europeans, now ignites the Americans. You have black people standing on a subway in New York screaming. I saw a video of this from this week. We happy that Hitler did what he did. 'We are the real Jews, you are fake Jews.' Now they are the Jews. You understand? It's very good that the Holocaust happened. In front of a camera they say this. America, you can say everything you want. The problem is that words leads to actions. Now you hear it by thousands of people. In another month it can be riots. Starting to have attacks against Jewish institutions. We always have to be ready. We have to be ready. It's very possible in one moment you're gonna have to grab whatever you can and just run away. Maybe you'll be able to take some of your money. Maybe in the end you won't even be able to take your money. You never know what can happen. It happened hundreds of times in the last 2,000 years to Jews. They build their wealth and in a moment it's all gone. I told you the story about Rav Shach, that Hitler came to their town and he told his wife, "We have nothing. Let's buy a ticket and take a boat to Israel." All his friends who used to have apartments waited to sell them. By then Hitler locked the border. They couldn't get out. All his friends from yeshiva were all murdered. And he was the He was the only one who got saved because he did not have an apartment to sell. He got on a boat with a suitcase with his wife and moved to Israel. He became the most important rabbi in the world and most powerful one. All his friends laughed at him when he married this orphan that had no parents to buy him an apartment. They told him, "You're the great student here, you should get the best apartment. How do you "Agreed to marry such a girl?" He said, "The Rosh Yeshiva told me to marry her. I don't ask questions." "Paranasa, it's in Hashem's hand." He lived by his living room with a blanket from the ceiling dividing the room to two halves. Tiny, tiny living room. One couple lived on one side, another couple lived on the other side. That was his condition. Worse than to live in a bathroom. 'You get married and you have to move into a bathroom. Let's see you doing it.' Size of a bathroom, zero privacy. Why? The rabbi say, 'I count on Hashem that He leads the rabbi to tell me what's good for me.' That's it. And that's what saved his life. They laugh and poor guys, they all got burned and they couldn't sell the apartment. What do you think happen if Rav Fishman Shalom, they're going to start attacks against Jews here. How exactly 5.5 million Jews will sell their homes here in America? How? If you're going to go to all these fancy schmancy towns, Forest Hills, Great Neck, Lakewood, Monsey, Williamsburg, thousands of apartments, thousands of homes, every home $10 million, $15 million, $5 million. Who's going to buy it? Who? The minorities from places that cannot buy one-bedroom apartment? They're going to buy a house that the taxes on it is $60,000 a year or $100,000 a year? No, they're not going to buy it. They're just going to walk in and live there like they did in Poland. They just walk in, open the door, and that's our house. That's what happened to the Polish Jews after the war. The survivors, they They came and they saw the Polish people leaving the house and if they opened their mouth, they took axes and split their heads open. And they asked the Polish, how did you do such thing to people who were in camps for years and all their families died? They finally came back to the neighborhood. They said we could not even imagine going back to the days that they were in charge of all the business here. Thinking about them going back to own all the businesses over here. Really what bothered them is they were afraid that they're going to ask for their homes back. Go to court and say, "That's my house from before the war. He entered the house illegally." It will create problems. Decided to kill them. So those who survived the hell, when they showed up back to look at their house, they got an axe in their head. Do you understand? You think, "Oh, in America it's not possible." What do you think in Germany was any different than America or in Poland or in all the fancy-schmancy communities in Europe? Go see the old shoes, what kind of shoes they had. Based on the shoes, you will know how wealthy they used to be. Look at the shoes that were burned in Kristallnacht, 1,300 shoes, most of Some of them were palaces. Palaces! Probably today would be $200 million to buy such a place with all the arts and the handmade painting by the greatest artists. Places of 3,000 people, 2,000 people in the heart of Berlin and Munich and all this. Or in Hungary or in all these places. Just like here. And remember, one of the ways Hashem trigger the goyim to begin with their antisemitism is when they suffering financially. And now they're going crazy with the prices of energy, the prices of mortgages, rents, everything so high, inflation. The goyim are suffering. If they had some savings, it's all been been eaten up. They can't pay their mortgages, big problems right now. So when they open up their eyes and see who the boss is and who the neighbors are and when they drive past those houses, what do you think goes in their mind? They used to hide it, now they're not even hiding it. If you go on social media, you begin to cry with what you hear. Real pure Nazis talking nonstop on social media, nonstop. Kill the Jews, get rid of the Jews, it's all the Jews, nonstop. No fear, no fear. He doesn't know the FBI are monitoring him. Freedom of speech. The FBI don't know what to do. It used to be 1,000, now it's 100,000. They can monitor all of that. They have to keep checking what they write. They monitor, they have search engines. The FBI have computers who search every account. When they see words like kill, immediately they check. Kill who? Kill Jews, kill blacks, kill Chinese, everyone with this agenda. They begin to monitor people, but obviously they can't follow everyone. Even what you search in Google, in immediately trigger flags by the FBI. But I want to remind you, right now the FBI may still do their job, but don't forget, in the FBI you also have a lot of Nazis and all kinds of racists. What do you think, everyone is a Jew lover? A lot of racist people. They grew up racist. Right now they do their job because they're afraid to get fired. When Hasbushalom riots will start, you think they're gonna do their job, they'll close their eyes. And when you call the police, you think the police will show up? Half of them are also racist. They will show up to jeopardize their life in front of a mob who comes to burn the neighborhood? They're going to risk their life? Well, why should they come defend you? They themselves are antisemites. Many of them. You see from their body language. Sometimes they pull you over, they see your religion, you see right away how much they hate you. Sometimes no, depends on the person. In reality, Rabotai, now it's time for us to do extra than always, extra righteous, more Torah, more tefillah, more fixing the midot, working on humility, attracts less attention. Do not wear your fancy watches on the street. It's a life risk. Hashem is gonna punish you for that. Even if you won't be robbed with a knife or gun, for every day you walk with your diamonds and your watches, your expensive watches, it takes away all your merit because you trigger the criminals who rob everyday people around here. Just here in Queens, every day someone get robbed. $90,000 watch, $50,000 watches. Jews have nothing to do, they buy this kind of watches. For what? For show? What do you enjoy by showing poor people that you have $100,000 watch? Everybody needs to know you wealthy? $100 watch like this is not good enough? You need $100,000? Obviously, a lot of them are not religious, or those who used to be secular today maybe they wouldn't buy it. Get rid of it. Don't ever put it. You walk in the street and people see you, I don't know, in a bus, on the train, on, you know, walking on the street of Manhattan, in your store, in your office, and they think, how do I steal it from from him. And there's a lot of criminals, drug addicts, they need money for their drugs, they're gonna kill you for that. They don't think. Drug addicts don't think. So if you got lucky and Hashem saved your life, it takes away from your merit. One way or the other, every day you walk with that, you pay a price. If you know that it costs you every day $1,000 to wear this watch, would you wear it? Of course not, no. Why would I want to pay $1,000 to wear a nice watch? But that's what it costs you. It takes away from your bank account of your mitzvot because you walk in the street with thousands of lions around you. Murderers, rapists, all kinds of Nazis, all kinds of criminals, all kinds of drug addicts. New York is flooded with them. Flooded! Thousands of them walking around you every day. The fact that you would walk one week without being mugged Moad is a huge miracle, and because of that miracle, you have to pay a price. And Hashem takes away from your shchuyot the Gemara says. It's halacha. Shlichem mitzvah enam izokim, the Gemara says. If you're busy with mitzvah, you don't get damaged unless you walk into a place of a danger. Over there, you will be damaged, and if you You didn't, that means Hashem had to make a miracle for you and he will charge you for that. How? He deducts from your merits. Would you like to lose the reward of your keeping Shabbat or your charity or your tefillin that you put or the prayers that you have every day or the Torah that you learn? You want this to be wasted on every day you walk with a fancy watch and Hashem has to save you every day from some monster? Do you want to come empty to Shamayim? What are you gonna say? I wanted to show off that I have a nice watch? Over there it's Olam Haemet. You're gonna feel so stupid. And when you find out how many millions of mitzvot you lost for that, you will never ever forgive your stupidity. Never. I told the people that asked me Don't wear your jewelry. Don't wear your wedding diamond. Don't wear necklaces. Don't wear earrings. They're going to cut your ear. They're going to cut your ear, these drug addicts, with scissors if you're not going to be able to take off the big diamonds. Even fake jewelry, it's dangerous to wear. It attracts their attention. They don't know. They won't believe you it's fake. They can stab you for that if you don't take it strong enough because You're going to be shaking. In one second, they shot you, they shoot you. Remember, most of them are drug addicts. They don't think. I was in a gas station two weeks ago in Brooklyn after the lecture. You know the gas station next to the shul, right there in the corner? Maybe 1 AM at night. The guy works there, you know, he has a cage, a wall. Bulletproof, of some drug addict in his 25, 27, starting to scream and curse while I'm putting gas. I started to worry. Next thing, he's going to turn against me. I'm ready maybe to spray some gasoline in his face or something. You don't know with these crazy people. He started to take things, throw at him, horrible curses. When he left, the guy came 'Get him out.' He looked at me and said, 'Every night I have it. Drug addicts. They can't control what they do. Drug addicts.' He wants to go in, that he should rob him. He doesn't let him in. He locked the place. He begins to bang. Obviously, someone like that will see you. 'Give me your watch. If not, I'll kill you. What are you going to do? I'll put spray in your face.' You gotta be careful, Rabotai. This place here now is very dangerous, especially here in New York. Every day someone gets robbed. Stores get robbed, cars get robbed, people walk in the street. You know how many Bukharians here got robbed? People wait for them by their house. They come, they watch. Some of them are professional robbers. They wait, they They follow you for a few days, they see what time you come home. Don't wait until it's too late. Lower your profile. Besides them, even if they're not around, Hashem doesn't like show-off. He does not like show-off. Lower your life standards. You have extra money? Help your children. Buy them what they need. They got married, they may need help. You have enough for your children, help the yeshiva, help to save souls. In the end, what are you gonna take with you to the next world? Only what you invested in charity. Nothing else you take with you to the next world. What you invested in charity, it's yours for eternity. You take it with you to the next world. Stupid watches you bought, goes to the garbage. Fancy cars you bought goes to the garbage. Fancy houses you bought goes to the garbage. Nice expensive clothes goes to the garbage. Every check you wrote, every credit card donation, every check you send, this is what accumulates into your eternal next world. Smart people That's what they do. You never know what can happen. I told you what happened to this woman, poor woman, 52 years old, walk on the streets, a car hit her, die on the spot. Another person arrived to Israel, 61 years old, waiting for his suitcase, fell on the floor and died. You know what can happen? You know how many people all of a sudden fall and die? You don't know what's going to and every minute, Rabotai, this is, these words that I'm telling you tonight must wake up everyone. Share it with your friends, with your brothers, with anyone you care about. This can save a lot of lives. The last 15 minutes, cut it, send it to people. Tell them to overcome their desire to show off. Not to attract attention in the eyes of the monster on the street. You can save life. You don't want, Chasvei Shalom, your nephews to be orphans or your sister to be a widow. This can happen. It happens every day. People are— if it was only money, it's one thing. The problem with these monsters is that they get paranoid and they stab you. You move or you do something, they shoot. They shoot. You don't know what's next. Therefore, I'm saying, of course, it's all Hashem's, but sometimes a person brings it on himself. B'ezrat Hashem, we'll be smart enough to overcome this horrible time that is coming. And again, focus as much as you can in Torah and in Irat Shamayim and fixing the midot. That's what King Solomon wrote. In the end, everything that will be heard is keep the Torah and the mitzvot because that's what the human being is all about. Thank you very much. We'll see you tomorrow.
