If Not Now When Will We Wake Up - In Great Neck

Rabbi Mike Kushevsky speaks five days before Rosh Hashanah, arguing that immediate repentance can tip the divine balance before Jewish Judgment Day. He critiques ego-driven success and lax observance, urging listeners to eliminate pride, embrace humility, and redirect wealth toward Torah study and charity.

Good evening. I have a huge pleasure coming back to Great Neck tonight to this synagogue. I have a very beautiful history in this place. This is the first place I ever gave a lecture in English. 26 years ago. So obviously it's like coming back home. Baruch Hashem. And since then it's probably more than 6,000 lectures, but it all started right here. This lecture, B'ezrat Hashem, will be the refua of Miriam bat Yosef, And I have to pour whiskey. Is there any? That's Lachat, Abraham ben Moshiach. Then Elumi Shmat Le'Arti, Beriet, Enriet, Bat Aziz, Refrash Bema, and Elisa Bat Enriet. Baruch Hashem, in a holy candle like tonight, to be honest with you, I didn't expect so many people to come. It's a big achievement. Usually people see such cold night, who wants to get out of his house? But I guess people understand the urgency. We are on Hamash, 5 days before the Judgment Day, and these 5 days can still save you. It's critical. Every merit that you earn now, between now and then, can turn the scale from negative, bad fortune, into positive. Literally. It's not cliché or, oh, you know, it's in the books, that one has to keep one Torah. That's good for the books. Tachlis! Where is my money? Someone told me, listen, this business will bring you millions of merits every month. I would really prefer to get the money, not the merits. Why? Because there is one Torah for the books and one Torah for reality. For some people. A kosher Jew, or at least a religious Jew, For him, there's no difference between what's written in the books to the reality of every day. That's whatever it's written, that's it. That's my reality. It doesn't matter what I understand or what people brainwash my head to do certain things, to believe in certain things. In the end, it's called Da'at Torah, the opinion of the Torah. Now, how do you adjust your head always to think like the Torah? If you are a doctor and you went to medical school and you're a real serious big shot, you're making millions, you drive your beautiful car, you live in a mansion, you have thousands of famous patients, you're on TV, you live the life. You really need the rabbi to tell you what to do? You're only thinking in your mind, I'm 100 times greater than him. He doesn't even have a degree. What is he doing? "Levavik malach, levavik malach." How is he going to help my life? That's what happens to most academic people. Their pride and their ego grows very, very high in their life. That's not their fault. This is the trick the Satan puts them in. Once they achieve certain achievements, especially if it comes with a lot of money and power, then they don't need the rabbi, they don't need Hashem, they don't need the Torah, and even if they call themselves religious or The connection between them and Hashem is very, very small. That's reality. It's a sad reality. And of course, I'm not mentioning names and I don't really have anyone in mind when I speak now. I'm just talking about, unfortunately, a very common phenomenon. The way to be attached to God is, first of all, to eliminate your ego completely. To understand that you are nothing You're not even a mosquito. A tiny mosquito that's not worth a penny in a store, it has much bigger achievements than you. Flies, maneuver, it's very, very bright. You know how it drills from far away, knows how to land on your veins, spray the anesthesia, drill exactly in the right place, draw the right amount of blood, make a better than Apache helicopter, which costs $30 million. Maneuver, try to run after him. He laughs at you. This mosquito is already greater than you. Or fish. Or what the darling stole. What do you think you are? The only one thing you have is the soul. The problem with this is that physically you cannot achieve anything better than animals. That's what the Maharshi— "Muntara adamina perimayim"— person has no advantage on the animal whatsoever. Except one. It's the divine soul that will be judged in front of the King of Universe, in front of Hakadosh Baruch Hu. Everybody asks, if they're clever, they ask, what kind of advantage is that? I would rather be a nice eagle flying, enjoying life. Enjoying the nature, eating well, having, you know, he's in love with his female, having babies, flying for free all over the world, doesn't need to walk with the mask all day and suffer. Wonderful life there. Some cats, you know what life they have? They live in mansions in Beverly Hills, they even have a massage therapist. So why would I want to be a human being? In the end, on top of all the suffering that I'm gonna go through my life, and there's not one person who's not suffering in the world. There's not even one. After all this suffering, problem, divorce, problem, children, addictions, alcohol, drugs, all kinds of problems at work, problem with money, problem with the government, problem with the neighbor, problem with the family, all kinds of fights and lawsuits and who knows what. After all this suffering, then my trial only begins. And that's an advantage. No? Have your experiences. Who would like to go to court unless you're a judge or a lawyer who makes fortune going to court? Those are the only two who enjoy going to court, right? They smile all the way to the bank after that. The judge, more than money, it's the power. I have a cousin in Israel, he was a very successful lawyer, and then he decided to give it all up, his successful firm, and go and become a judge, which he did not even make 10% of what he used to make as a lawyer. 10%! He gave up 90% monthly, 90% to send tens of thousands of checks and every money gave up to the garbage just to be the boss, to rule people, to tell them you go to jail and you go home, to feel the power. That's it. There's no other explanation. It's two things. What makes a lawyer want to be a judge? One, the will to control, to control people. And second is the fame and glory and the honor, which is all one thing, right? If you tell the judge, you can be a judge in one condition, it's a very dangerous country, Chicago, Sicily, you can be a judge in a court, but you will always have a mask on your entire face, you will always be covered with this black thing, and your name will never will never be revealed. Not one person would want to be a judge, almost. Why? No fame. No one knows it's you. No one knows to bow down to you. Nobody knows who you are. At the same point, if you tell all the rich people that donate a lot of money to the synagogues, from now on you can only donate anonymously. You're not allowed to write your name. You have to send the money You know, there's a box here, you have to come, put the cash in, no one knows, no one will know it's you, it's just between you and Hashem. What will happen to 99% of the synagogues? In one month they'll all be bankrupt. Thank God there is such a thing called pride. Did you ever love pride? We all hate pride, but trust me, without pride we wouldn't have a shoe worth loving. Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, they make the auctions. 50, 100,000, 300,000. Tell them this year, due to the corona, we'll do the vote anonymously. You send the email to the rabbi, you send the money, no one in the synagogue will know it's you. How much it's gonna go for? From 300,000 to 3,000 if you're lucky. Why? That's the way we are. I did not look behind me, but there is a parochet here, no? That's our own Kodesh. All the parochets that you go always have names. Donation of Reuven, donation of Shimon, donations of Yitzchak. Usually when people give donation, they want to be acknowledged. How? Every once in a while you have people that say, Rabbi, I don't want anyone to say my name. I want to sponsor the lecture. You can read a refua of people, no one would know it's from me. I want to sponsor everything. Sometimes it's involved catering. I don't want my name to be mentioned. Why? Anonymous. I want to give the mitzvah 100% Hashem Shemayim, for the sake of heaven. But most of us, we have a long way to go. So the Gemara says the only advantage we have is that one day after we leave the world, we will have a one-year trial. Now I want to tell you something. If the IRS sued you, I'm sure for one year you did not eat and you did not sleep. And before the day of the trial, it's a miracle you made it to the court without a heart attack. Agree or not? Okay. If your competitor in a business sue you for stealing an idea from him, copyright, you don't know what can happen. The judge may let you go and may penalize you for millions of dollars. You cannot eat and sleep for weeks. You can't function. You're not happy from your children's party, nothing. Why? Your mind, what happened, Moshe? You look like a dead rat. You don't know what I'm going through, Rabbi. You don't. Well, loss of— so instead of 100 million, you'll be left with 97. That's what it's just about. The actual fear from the trial is tremendous. This feeling, multiply it by a billion. That's the trial when we die. The fear will be a billion times higher. As it is now, we are dying from fear. I once went to testify for a teenager. He had a drug case in court in New Jersey. They wanted someone to come say a good thing about him, that now he's becoming religious. The lawyer said, "Rabbi, he will come and we will show the judge that it's a famous rabbi, that he's well known for many years, that he has a website." And so forth and so on, then the judge will actually take this into consideration. And actually he did, he did ever. I wrote a letter to the judge and he let him go. Because he made teshuvah, he stopped with nonsense. It was an old case of almost 2 years ago, but now he's a different person. He got away with going to jail or who knows what could have happened to him. But I remember the fear I had coming I went to the court as a witness, not as a defendant. Seeing this American police, the flag standing on both sides of the judge, so scary. Sitting in the audience. Then I started to think to myself, I'm not the defendant there and I'm shaking. Imagine if I was that kid, what he's going through. And imagine if it would be in front of Hashem, what will I have to go through? Wow. So how exactly in the world Chazal are saying that it's an advantage? What advantage you have on the animals? Isn't it better to be a dog? Isn't it better to be a bird or fish or whale enjoying in the ocean freedom? But if the Torah says it's better to have a tribe and that's the only advantage you have on the animal, It has to be correct. The answer is, when you go to court and someone sues you, you can either lose or stay the same. Not guilty, you're back to square one. You know, you stay who you are. If you're guilty, there is a payment to make. When you come in front of Hashem, there are two options. One, you can lose a lot, but at the same time you can gain a lot. There is two options for you, my friend. Not like in a court over here, you can only lose or stay the same. With Hashem, you can skyrocket. You can get a huge reward for your life, for what you achieve, for the Torah you learn, for the, for the teshuvah you spent, say, for for helping the poor and the widow and being a decent person and fixing your horrible personality traits. You became an angel. Generous, decent, nice, down to earth. You give up your ego, the jealousy. You have no fight anymore with anyone. People insult you, you don't even answer. You have such strong faith and belief in God. All your life was pure good deeds, one after the other. Torah learning, devotion, holiness. You changed the way you dress, you changed the way you talk, you changed the way you behave to your family. You became from a very negative person, after a few decades, you became an angel. Now it's time to get your huge reward. So the Chachamim are looking at the positive side of the trial. It's pain, pain and death. You just end eternal life of pleasure, spiritual pleasure, that all the pleasures in the world here will not be compared to one hour in the next life for kosher righteous Jews. Jew, man or woman. One hour in the next world of a righteous Jew will be better than the entire pleasure that was done to anyone in this earth from the beginning until the end of the world. 6,000 years of this planet, this earth, 6,000 years, billions and billions and billions of people multiplied by 78 years of life. Multiplied by all the pleasure you ever had, all the happiness, all the tears of happiness, all the joy and the dancing and laughing and physical pleasure of all the people combined will not come to 1 hour of the pleasure of your soul for 1 hour in the next world, which is eternity. Only after What to do for it is to vision your Shabbat, give your men bread, put filling, fix your horrible personality, your anger, your jealousy, your stinginess, your laziness, all these bad things. Be a modest person, watch your eyes, work on your holiness, learn a lot of Torah, and be very generous, give a lot of donations to good causes. Be very careful where you give. I know a lot of generous people that give to places that will be punished for it. Not only they won't be rewarded for it, they will be actually punished for it. Here in Great Neck, you have few Reform synagogues. Reform and Conservative. Everyone who give them money will be severely punished for that. It's worse than a church. A Jewish We're not allowed to give money to a church, a place of idol worshiping. Giving to a Reform synagogue is approximately 100 times worse than giving to a church. At least in the church they don't teach you to be a gay. The priest doesn't teach that a man and man can get married like they do in a Reform place. A priest doesn't marry a woman with a woman. A priest doesn't marry a woman with a dog. Right? To the best of my knowledge. I never met priests like this. Did you ever meet priests like this? Priests usually talk about reward and punishment. Be a good person. They speak about a lot of positive things. There's only one major problem in the religion, that it's all fake. It's not the word of God. So, whatever is positive there, they learned from us. But at least they bring it up. What positive do we have in the Reform synagogue? Intermarriage, assimilation, homosexuality, violating every rule of the Torah, breaking Shabbat, horrible things, brachot lebatallah, everything from A to Z, non kosher minyan. Hello, you don't give money to a place like this. You'll be severely punished. Because every Jew who helps a criminal in any possible way becomes an integral part of the scene. Give you an example. You are a secular Jew. Your parents wrote a will. What is— what's in the will? When I die, do cremation for me. Burn my body and feed my ashes to the fish and the Hudson River. That's what they wrote in the will. You're allowed to do it, but that's their final request. Don't you have to respect your parents? Of course not. If they ask for something that will cause them eternal suffering because of their ignorance, you would cooperate with such a crime? Or you like your parents If you like your parents, the last thing you'll do is burn their body because the Torah says, the book of God says, "Min afar bata, ben afar tashuv." You came from the dust, from the sand, you have to return to that. That's an obligation, it's an order. It's not open for negotiation. Anyone who will not bury the dead is a serious criminal. But most people don't know. They don't do it out of evilness. They don't know. What do you expect from this reform? Or from all these high scholars in universities? They never learned Torah in their life. In their mind, it makes more sense to just burn the body and get rid of it. Why spending $10,000 on a funeral? You know? It's a very serious crime because the spirit of that deceased person will never ever have rest, ever. Never. It will suffer forever. If the kids would know what they cause to their parents, I'm sure at least half of them will not do it. Why do I say at least half and not all? Because believe it or not, some kids hate their parents. I get their complaints all the time. They ruin my life. Some of them ask me if they can sue their parents in court for not giving them this, for not giving them that, for bringing them up in such a way that they're not pleased with that. They didn't buy me this, they didn't give me that. Some people, they claim that their parents abused them verbally, physically, all kinds of things. They hate them as it is. Some people have schizophrenia and bipolar and all kinds of other mental issues. They live in paranoia that their parents are after them to kill them. It's a very common phenomenon. Every week I hear about it. "Abba, I don't know who my parents are. They're such monsters. My mother wants to kill me. She sends the police after me." They live with this paranoia. It's another problem in the mind. Paranoia. Everybody comes to kill me. I say, call the police. No, the police is also together with them. That's what we see today with the vaccines. A lot of crazy people, they live with such paranoia, they spread non-stop fake news. Non-stop. Today someone made up fake news in the morning. The Israeli, the Israeli Health Department had to to make an urgent news to tell people someone made it up. It's a lie. Don't buy this. People in paranoia. Why every hour another fake news? Every hour another fake news and another one and another one. It's never end. So because the trial can go both ways, who told you to be wicked? Who told you to be wicked? Be righteous and the trial will be the happiest day of your life. You chose to be wicked, you chose to be mechalen Shabbat, you chose to murder, you chose to rape, you chose to speak lashon hara all day, you chose to look at dirty things, you chose to curse all day, you chose to steal. Now you have to deal with the consequences of your actions. Fair enough or no? Some of you say yes, but in reality you don't believe what you say. And the reason I say it is because if we really believe that, none of us would make one sin. We would not commit one sin. Why we commit sins? Why we spit lashon hara? Why we don't sometimes come to shul? Why we are being stingy? Why we don't have faith? Why we fight for money with people all day? Why we do all these things with the yarmulke on our head and the tzitzit all the way to the floor? Why is it? Because in the end, the Satan is successful making us forget the consequences of our choices. Because if we lived with that, We were never there to do it. Because if I tell you now that you have 100 glasses of water on the table, and you did not drink for 3 days, and now it's your opportunity to drink, but just that you know that in one of those glasses I put extremely dangerous poison, that if you drink from it, you die instantly. It burns your entire stomach. From 8 to 0. 1 out of 100 glasses, 99 of them are clean. On the other hand, if you don't drink now, tomorrow morning you're gonna have clean water and you won't die until tomorrow. Oh, it doesn't— you can have some headache because 3 days you did not drink, you may feel dizzy, but to die you're not gonna you're gonna die. Wait until tomorrow and you're gonna have safe water. Or just choose one glass and be my guest. Who would drink? Who would prefer to wait for tomorrow for safe water? Every normal person with a little bit brain in his head will never dare to drink. On a 1 to 100 chance. 1% chance to die, we will not take that risk. So how come you have so many mikha'elei Shabbat in this town? And they love God, they kiss the mezuzah, they even come to Kedusha, and they drive the car, and all of them, all of them heard at least once in their life that you're not allowed to create fire on Shabbat. I've spoken hundreds of times in this town. One of my lectures that I gave in Great Neck are all over the media. It went everywhere. Everyone knows it. That's, by the way, one of the reasons that some places don't want to invite me. They don't want to hear the truth. They want to continue to drive in the car forever on Shabbat. They don't want someone to come and tell them the real truth. They want someone to cheer and compliment them and kiss up to them and tell them how great they are because they give some money here and there. And because they are nice people. And it's great that you come. You come with a car? You come with a car. At least you come. But that's the wrong approach. Because who has the guts to rebel against the clear instructions of the Creator of the world? When he writes, "Lo tevaru esh becholmos, u lo techem b'yom ha-Shabbat"— no permission to create fire no matter where you are. Israel, out of Israel, every place you live, you won't be able to create new fire on Shabbat ever, from the minute I'm giving you this Torah. So when he gave us the Torah, He told us the only way you're gonna be able to create fire on Shabbat is to save life. Meaning if you have to take the car and drive someone to the hospital, unless he'll die, right? So therefore, if there is a life risk, if there is a life risk, you're allowed to break Shabbat temporarily just to get the person to the hospital. But once you got there, you're not allowed to charge the car. No matter how expensive it is. You have a Bugatti, $2.7 million. Someone will steal it. Doesn't matter. Even if the car worth $100 billion, you don't have permission to shut the engine. Why? It's breaking Shabbat. The life risk is awful. You see the guy that works in the parking lot of the hospital jumping into your car and driving it? Nothing he can do about it. G-d never gave permission to break Shabbat to save money. Any amount of money, trillion dollars, you're not allowed to break Shabbat once for a trillion dollars. Trillion dollars. You know how many things you can do with a trillion dollars? You know how many synagogues you can build? How many yeshivas? You know how many Jewish kids you can send to yeshiva, to a kirala forti or a public school? And they ended up merry-go-ing because their parents could not afford yeshiva, and their children are not Jewish, and their family is cut off, their entire genealogy, because they couldn't pay $1,000 a kid for yeshiva. Not everybody could afford it. You know how much you can do with a trillion dollars? What's the big deal? We break Shabbat one time and we're gonna get a trillion dollars for it. The answer: no permission. Life risk? Yes. Any amount of money? No permission. That's the law. Who made that law? God. Now, if he wanted you to come to the synagogue so bad, he would tell you that for coming to pray in the synagogue, you're also allowed to break Shabbat to get you into the sinning. There's no permission. There's only permission to save life. After that, there is no permission to break Shabbat for anything else. Anything else, I would die. Just to save life. What about the entire place is going to get burned? If there are goyim who scream, maybe it doesn't put the fire off. If not, Hashem That's really the truth. People don't want to hear it. They want to lie to themselves another 40 years. Every Shabbat they'll drive to the synagogue. It's better a person will not pray one time in his life in synagogue than one time to start the car. 40 years he pray, pray, pray, waste his time. Why? Because he's doing it through breaking Shabbat, which is the worst sin. It's a death penalty. It's like It's not a joke. If you don't pray, you don't get death penalty. If you did not pray one time in your life, there's no death penalty. You just lost the, the opportunity to request what you need. But there's no death penalty if you don't come to the synagogue. If you did not pray one time in your life, there's no death penalty. 7 years you did not pray once, no death penalty. One time you stole the cup, death penalty in this life and in the eternal life. So now, is it a good investment to invest your eternity to come to the synagogue when anyway the prayer does not get accepted? Because mitzvah, mitzvah that you do while you're committing a crime, that's not a mitzvah. How many mistakes people will make? How many? Most of the mistakes come from ignorance. I'm sure most of these people who drive to the synagogue on Shabbat, they don't think I'm doing something wrong. They think in their mind Hashem will accept what I do because after all I'm not going to the disco, to the bar, or to the beach. I come to the synagogue to pray, to hear the Torah. It cannot be that Hashem is going to be angry at me for coming to Knesset. It cannot be. That's human logic. That's human feelings. That's human emotions. There is absolutely no truth in it. Because we stick to the rules of God, and believe me, He took all the calculations you can ever think into consideration. When He actually ruled, you're not allowed to create any fire on Shabbat. On Yom Tov is different. You're allowed to take fire for me, it's just too far. But Shabbat— some people tell me, Rabbi, it's hard for me Shabbat. I ask them, what do you do on Yom Kippur? You keep Yom Kippur? Of course! What? Come on, I'm not a goy! Yom Kippur, it's not even 1% in Shabbat. Yom Kippur, it's not even 1% from Shabbat. Shabbat is the covenant between us and Hashem. He The Eternal Covenant. That's what makes you Jewish. Yom Kippur, you're doing yourself a favor. You have an opportunity to come to the judge in a small room and beg him, and he will waive 80-90% of your crimes and your punishments. You're not doing anyone a favor. You're going to fast, you're going to come, you cry, you do teshuvah. It's basically cleaning away your file from a lot of problems. But Shabbat, it's the only main connection that you have to Hashem. "Nikhalel Shabbat et shukhanahu." I did not write it. Don't be upset at me. I did not write it. Hashem did not consult with me on Mount Sinai what will be the consequences of breaking Shabbat. I promise you, if he would ask me, I would make it a lot easier. With my limited understanding, I would rather people come with a car to Shabbat. It would be fantastic. Everybody come. Instead of 100 people, you're gonna have 1,000. Who wouldn't like it? More people would come. It's an opportunity to speak to them and make them more religious, and maybe they start putting tefillin, and it's more income to the synagogue, into the yeshiva. It would be great for religion if it was up to me. What can I do? Nobody asked my opinion. And nobody asked your opinion. And it's written in Shukhana Ruch 7 times, Michalen Shabbat is 100% an angel. 7 different times in 7 different places. Did you know that? Most people do not know it. Not in this town and not in other towns. And that's why in a hotel we are 5 days before Rosh Hashanah and look at the world, what it became. Let's be honest with us. Did you ever imagine here in Africa that we will be standing where we are right now? With masks, with no freedom, with so much hate in a nation because of this vaccine. Yes vaccine, no vaccine, yes mask, no mask. Yes quarantine, no quarantine. So much hate came out. The level of hate between Jews to Jews rise by thousands of percent. If you see what people leave, what comments they leave on all kinds of articles and lectures on YouTube, what kinds of curses and all kinds of other things. flood alert. By the way, you should know, coming out of the lecture tonight in such hurricane and floods, it's count like you went to 100 lectures in a nice weather. And I'm not just saying it to make you feel good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is. But where does it say it? You know, if I say something, you can always ask me, where is the source? Where is So, come on. Every good deed that you do with sorrow and pain and sacrifice and effort, and it's difficult, is better than 100 in comfortable conditions. Better than the other, meaning at least 1/4 a gram of it, at least. That's why you ask. It might be candy to you. It's written, it's written. Some things that it's written, we're not happy with, and something that's written, we are very happy with. That's one of them. A little more effort and you get 100 times more. By the way, I'll tell you another secret. I'm sure many times you have a speaker coming to town and you debate if to go to the lecture or to watch it live. But this lecture right now is live broadcast on my app. All the lectures are live broadcast on my app, Rabbi Yosef Mizrahi. It's blue square with the Star of David inside. And that's the new app that we made. For people to be able to watch it live in good quality. Baruch Hashem, we fixed all the bugs. The last two times was b'ain hara, perfect. Hopefully that will be the third time, and then it's Chasakha. So people can watch the live lecture on the app. So what's easier now? To sit in your beautiful mansion with the biggest screen in the world and watch and eat watermelon and eat, I don't know, whatever you eat, lay on a comfortable couch, the air conditioning, what you like or don't like, or to walk all the way, or to drive, or to park, or to come out. Even though it's not the whole game, it's still going to take 20-30 minutes back and forth, no? And when you watch it at home, you can do repeat, pause, repeat, pause, you know, it's much more comfortable. So why coming to a lecture live? Give me one reason why. Not you. Who knows? Yeah? Contribute to the creation of the lecture. Exactly. You become a partner to the creation of the lecture. How? You may come and say one guy organized the event. He made flyers, he sent, he worked very hard. He gets a huge reward for it, no question about it. I came, enjoyed, sat for 2 hours and went back home and I actually created the lecture? I created nothing. I just came, I enjoyed for 2 hours and I went home. The answer is yes, because the Gemara in Masechet Baba Batra, page 9, the Gemara says, "Gedolah me'aseh yoter min auseh." Someone that influenced other Jews to do something good, and because of him they actually did it, they're going to get the full reward for their good deed, for their mitzvah. But the one who convinced them to do it get even a little bigger reward than them. So for instance, if they got $1,000 reward, let's say he got $1,020 or $1,030. They actually made the effort. They said they learn one hour Torah. He actually convinced them to do it every day, one hour Torah. Every day they learn an hour Torah, they get 60,000 mitzvot, he gets a little more than them. Doing nothing. One time he convinced them to learn an hour a day. So now, if the speaker would come to the synagogue and would walk in and see such a beautiful, nice, big synagogue empty, nobody showed up, there would not be any lecture. Well, I finished my career. Right? So the lecture could be canceled. So who is responsible for the lecture that it took place? The people that showed up. Each one of them, if he would not show up, all of them would not show up, there would not be a lecture. The fact that they showed up actually allowed the lecture to take place. Hashem is going to pay you for all the people that watch this lecture from now until the end of Full reward. So it's not 2 hours. It's right now 2 hours and there's thousands of people watching live. Each one of them is 2 hours that goes to your account. And tomorrow it's gonna be hundreds and the next day hundreds and the next day hundreds of people and the next day and the next day and the next day until who knows how many years. Everyone who watches, you get a piece from it. Now you tell me, is it worth it to come in the rain and fight with your umbrella a little bit and the light goes on and off? Is it worth it that effort to get all wet? No. Is it worth it to earn thousands of hours of Torah? Each hour is 60,000 mitzvot. Each hour of Torah. Rav Yitzchak did the calculation. 60,000 mitzvot. I finished my introduction. Now it's time to start the lecture, with your permission. It's written in the Torah in Deuteronomy 4:30. When you will be under pressure and stress, Umetsauch hakol atvarim ahereh. And all these problems will come to you. Veshavta ad Hashem mebokhecha beshamata bekolov. You're gonna have one solution. When you begin to feel Corona, problem, quarantine, depression, anger, sadness, No freedom. Horrible life. Whole world is shaking. Who knows what's next? If now you won't wake up, when will you? When I'm choking you? When I'm closing the rope around your neck and it's tighter every minute? Every minute it gets tighter and tighter and tighter. Another minute will be too late for you. That's when you die and you didn't repent and you lost your eternity. So now at least when you get one punch on the right and one on the left and problems and all kinds of problems, at least now you wake up. That's what the Torah says. You return all the way to your God and start listening to Him. It's about time. If not now, When? It's the last chance. In hospital, everyone is religious. Even those who made fun of the rabbi 30 years. When they are in York Avenue over there, in the section, the C-section over there. When? You don't believe me? I'll take you over there with me, and we're gonna walk in the hallway. And you see that every one of them scream, "Rabbi, Rabbi, come give me a blessing." And I promise you that at least half of them made fun of religion more than once in their life. Made fun of Hashem, made fun of the Torah, made fun of the rabbi, made fun of religious people. But when they finally understand that they may die, all of a sudden they begin to think about life. They don't care anymore about money. They don't care about anything anymore. They don't care what people think about them. They don't care about their title. They don't care about vacations. They only care about what's next with me. Will I live or will I die? Once a person gets to such a situation, then the chance that he will become more religious and open for more more spirituality is much, much, much bigger. But a smart person does not wait for that moment. When he's healthy and when he's wealthy and when he's successful and when he's married and he has beautiful children and he's happy every day, he has gratitude. The more Hashem gives him, the more he loves him, the more he wants to give back. Reminds me, there was a case in Israel. There were two men working together in a Dead Sea factory for 40 years. Two Israeli men. They started in their 20s, now they're in their 60s. And they are about to retire and get their pension money. 4 years. So one of them got already his pension money and his friend told him, listen, I'm marrying my daughter, my last daughter. Will you lend me money for the wedding and all that? Give me 100,000 shekels. Next year I'm getting my pension, I'll give you back your money. They eat together 4 years, their families became friends. Brothers. For all these years he worked with someone in the same place. He never had an issue with him. He trusted him, gave him 100,000 shekels. Back then it was livres. Same idea. He laid there, he got his pension money. His friend comes to him and says, "No, Shimon, you forgot to give me back my money. Didn't you say once you're gonna get your money you're gonna pay me back?" He said to me, "Pay you back for what? For the 100,000 shekel I gave you? You give me 100,000 shekel? Oh my gosh, you really became senile. You lost your mind." I lost my mind? Don't play games with me. It's my entire life savings. I gave you everything I made after 40 years. That's my pension. Don't play games. That's it. You're out of your mind. You're out of your mind. I don't know what you're talking about. You confuse me with someone else. You should go to psychology, psychiatrist to check you out. He denies the whole thing. Nobody saw it. Nobody's having a hash. He called him to bed. Who was there? Avvedim, Rabbi Rabbi Yaakov Muzzafi, the brother of Rav Salman Muzzafi, two huge tanmidei Chachamim, Kabbalists of the past generation in Yerushalayim. Today, he is Rav Ben Zion Muzzafi, one of the biggest Faradi rabbis in the world. He is the son of Rav Salman Muzzafi, meaning this Rabbi Yaakov Muzzafi was his uncle. And he's not paying. Now, Reuven is suing Shimon for not giving him back the 100,000 euros and denying the whole thing. Rabbi Yaakov Motsafi asked him, do you have a shtar? Do you have an agreement with witnesses that you gave him the money? No. Don't you know the Torah says you're not allowed to give someone a loan, cash, unless there's two witnesses that saw it? And you make him sign the check. It's a proof. You cannot deny you got the check. But cash, you at least, if you don't have two, at least one, a shomer shabbos Jew that come and testify, yes, give him the money here and there, and that day I witnessed it. Other than, if you give someone cash without witnesses, you are the criminal. You made him surrender to his yetzer hara. If he knew that there are witnesses, he would not surrender to his evil inclination. Because you actually pushed him to such a situation, he wanted to take advantage of the opportunity that nobody saw it. That's called, "Livnei velotiten mikshol." Do not put a trap in front of a blind man. It's not literal. Meaning everyone who has the weakness, you must take that weakness into consideration. If you have a cousin, all day he's after pretty girls. You don't take him to any place you know that there are girls over there. Why? Because you know his weakness. Right away, as soon as he comes there, he's gonna start making sins. If you have a cousin that eats b'layin hara and they say, "Mashallah," 25 hours a day, Today he's just fresh. You don't take him to a non-kosher restaurant. What's gonna happen? He's gonna eat burger that is not kosher. He cannot control himself. Ah, no, don't worry, it's beef. I don't eat pork, only beef. Where are you? McDonald's. Sad story. So he took him to Berlin, there the Diana be a kochmutzaffi. Ask him, Don't you know it's not allowed to do such thing? Why do you have the cash? The guy said, Rabbi, Rabbi, please, he did not give me anything. He lost his mind. He's crazy. He puts a good show. He said to him, anyone heard about it? You told anyone? No. What can I do? I only can go by what the Torah say. They don't have any proof. But that's okay. Tomorrow morning, I would like to ask both of you to come to Beit Din again in Yerushalayim. We will bring a dead body of someone that will die tonight. I will ask the Chatrat Kaddisha to come with the body to here. We have a ceremony that we do according to Kabbalah to find the real truth. What's gonna happen is I will ask you to hold the hands of the dead body and I will tell you all kinds of things to repeat after me. If you don't lie, nothing will happen. But if you lie, you will feel the hand of the dead person closing on your hand tighter and tighter and tighter. And if you continue to lie, it will smash all your bones and make you, you know, lose your hand. It's very, very dangerous. So tomorrow we're going to find out if you really got the money or not. Will you come tomorrow 9 AM? What is he going to say? No? He just put a hope. Of course, Rabbi, of course I will come. He doesn't believe anyway in this ceremony. Ah, the dead body is going Raisonnable. You will know you received the money. Don't you run out. In 5 minutes from now it will be late and you will be handicapped for the rest of your life. Everybody heard that? Yes. What would it be? Papa, I told you I did not get anything. Okay. Takes the hand, the hand of the dead body, put it like this. Repeats after me: I am such and such, deny that I received any money from this Jew, Rabuven. It never came to my hand, and this. And in the meantime, this crook feels the hand of the dead body actually pressing on his hand. And it gets tighter and tighter. And you can see already he goes like this. I did not get the money. Guess that. The rabbi said, listen, I see that the end of the death valley is closing on you. You have another 20 seconds before it's too late for you. Say the truth. Okay, okay, I got it. How much you got? 100,000. Where? In the factory, in the locker room. When? A year ago. Will you pay it back? Of course. "Tell him to let us start!" You can give a hand. You know, the dead person was so fake. Look how clever he was. He asked the Rabban Kadisha to send the car. Why? Because his heart broke for this miserable Jew that trusted this guy and gave him 100,000 lira, 40 years of saving. "How can I let it happen?" That's what the Torah says, that the giant has to be clever, sneaky sometimes. Sneaky sometimes. Why? Im naval dit naval. When you deal with a deceiver and a snake, you have to be a bigger snake than him. Who said that in the Torah? Yaakov said to Rachel, your father is a crow, Oh, don't worry, I'll teach him. I will know how to handle him. And Yaakov was— Yaakov's symbol is Emet. Yaakov, his symbol is Emet. We say in a Torah. So Yaakov is the purest and the most honest, and now he's dealing with his father-in-law, the crook. And what did he say to Rachel? "Al andelim." He put the sticks, do all kinds of things. The female went to bring his bed. He became rich overnight. To get what he actually deserved to get. He didn't steal it from anyone. Am I allowed to lie and cheat to your boss to get what you owe me? He owes you commission, you know for sure, not imagination. Some people imagine this. For sure you know he stole from you $10,000. You are allowed to fool him? How can you fool him? There are many ways to fool him. For instance, if he says one day after he thinks you gave up on the money, A year passed by. They say to you, "You're holding this envelope from my brother, and you must pay cash." And he owes you $10,000, and you have now the money in your hand. And you open up the envelope, and you see $9,000 there. Not full enough. Still owe you another thousand. Are you allowed to tell them, "Adios, amigo"? I'm taking the money that you owe me. Allowed or not allowed? Huh? If you know for sure that you owe him the money, for sure, not maybe yes, maybe no, 100%, then you're allowed to take it. But if you're not sure and you take it, you become a thief. If you become a thief, you cannot enter heaven. It's a big problem. Thieves don't go to heaven. They must come back in reincarnation. I got so excited in the story, I was actually pressing on my hand, it hurts now. You give the story. So let's move on. So the Torah continues with "Shaf ta'ar Hashem Elokecha," all the way to your God you will return and you will listen to Him. And Hashem was circumcised, what? Ah, your heart. Why? The heart is the source of the evil inclination. So you will have— you will circumcise me to get rid of the garbage, the extra, the things that needs to be cleaned out. Just like a circumcision of a baby. Now let's see the 4 things, 4 things that relate to repentance. Yesterday, movement spoke about 24 conditions, things that delay or put on hold your repentance. You want to be righteous, if you do one of these 24 things, you can't. It puts a stop on your repentance, a delay. Hold back. So you must listen to that lecture from last night. It will be on tonight on my website, on the app. You have to listen to it because a lot of these things, Rabotai, we are doing without realizing, and that's going to mess up the whole teshuvah for us. Yeah. Now, the first one, something that one who returns to Hashem, returns to Hashem with his conscience, meaning he's aware of what he's doing and he decides I'm going to return back to God. Hashem said, if you want to return, make sure to return to me. Who else I will return to? Who else? If a person wants to return, of course he will return to God. No, he will return to me in a proper way. What does it mean, if you return, return to me? Then Maharaj explained, before the punishment. He got lucky. There's a pending punishment. It's supposed to come any day or any week. And you did repentance and the punishment was dismissed. Fantastic. The prophet Malachi chapter 3, verse 7 says, shuvu elai, return to me, v'ashuvah elichem, as a result I will return back to you. Meaning, where are you now? Not with you. I'm far away from from you. Why am I far away from you? You're mechalen Shabbat. How can I be next to you? You're committing a crime that is a permanent cut for your soul from the eternal life. You expect me to hug and kiss you for what you're doing? If I gave mechalen Shabbat a bigger punishment than I give to murderers, do you really think it's a joke to be mechalen Shabbat? Don't you get the point? Why you destroy yourself? So therefore Hashem runs away from the sinners, of course. When he sees impurity or lack of modesty, he runs away. Where does it say it? Who knows? Ve'ayamachanecha kadosh. Your communities should be holy. And then what? What comes right after that? "Vera'abecha irva davar, veshav me'acharei ra." If I see lack of modesty, women that do not dress properly, men that do not behave properly, and sometimes also do not dress properly, today men, what they became? You don't know anymore who was a man and who was a woman. Was a woman. I said this every time I fly. It's two days. I'm not sure which one of them is a man, which one of them is a woman. This country became so filthy that Sodom and Gomorrah is Jerusalem compared to America. What did you get? I don't know anymore. Someone looks like a man, sounds like a woman. Or an ounce man sounds like a woman. I don't know anymore. What are they? Man, woman? Someone that is a man, woman? Short, shaved head, So many mental cases out there, and unfortunately half of the government are people like this. Sleepy Joe, 80 years old. Sleepy Joe. He should have been more conservative. He did not grow up in Sodom and Gomorrah generation. When he was in his 20s, public school did not have boys and girls mix. There was boys separately and girls separately in public schools in America of going. When the teacher entered the class, everyone rise. Everyone had the same uniform. People behave completely different than today. You did not have one gay among a million people when he grew up. And then you have today 20, 30, or 40% already. To show you that the end of the world is coming fast. It will explode on all of us. The question is, will we get saved or not? That's really the main consideration right now. They are already lost case. The question is not going to be even asked. Will we get saved from the drowning boat or not? Because you see what's happening. Hashem is shaking the whole world. The money is going to get lost. Money is going to get lost. Why? Because that's what the Torah says. That's what the Zohar says. Before the end, that's what's going to happen. And everything the Zohar and the Gemara say is happening in front of our eyes. 50 years ago none of it happened. 50 years later everything happened. Who would believe the things that we see today 50 years ago? The problem is that when I speak, half of the people are in agreement with what I say and the other half rebel. They get angry. Why they get angry? Even some of them consider themselves religious, but they get angry. Why they get angry? When I said one world for my own opinion? I speak exactly what the Torah say. There was Sodom and Gomorrah generation. What did Hashem do? Burn them all. Then there was a flood. Everybody died. Only Noah and his family survived. Then there was the Babylonian Tower. Massive punishment. Then there was a massive Holocaust. World War I and then II. And now ISIS and Islam spreads like cancer everywhere. Every hour the damage is growing. Every hour. There's not one hour it stops. Cancer is growing. Everybody knows what's the end of cancer that spreads in the body. Everybody knows what's going to be. And if you think you can go to a war with the Muslims and win, you are dreaming. They're not afraid to die. You have a billion of them willing to die for their cause. You cannot win an enemy that is anxious to die. They call it shaheed. Nothing you can prepare for. Nothing you can do. Now you're not scared yet. They come, the Israeli soldiers are shooting in the air, they laugh. They throw tears gas at them, they laugh. They only laugh. They come and march to the wall, one step from the wall. They're not afraid that no one will shoot them because they say the Israelis are all clowns and are very weak and they have no fear from God, and God is with us. We are willing to die for him. They got very brave. They've seen Israeli soldiers, half of them are gays, unfortunately, and many of them are atheists, and many of them transgoyim. And it's not what it used to be 30 years ago, the army. It's not what it used to be when I was in the army. It was a different army. Today it's a completely different army. When yet by then they all became fanatic in the religion, They come for the sake of dying. That's it. And the very thing, they learn how to fight and they get tons of weapons. Tons of weapons smuggled as we speak in tunnels. Tons. And many millions of dollars come from Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Saudis, all this to them nonstop. Nothing to do with And that's what Hashem did to us, as it's written in Parashat Chukotai, and that's what's going to be our end. Read Parashat Chukotai in English and you tell me if one of the things that happens today in our days is not written just here. One, the enemies that live among you will rise and you will sink. They will get greater and you will be weaker. You live in panic. You'll be afraid of them. You will run from them even when they don't chase you. You will shrink into your cities. You will lose your land to them. Did it happen, all of that? In the last 20, 30 years? 100%. What can we do to save ourselves? I can't hear anything. What can we do to save ourselves from them? Oh, that's what we're talking here about. What do you heck care just to distract me? The situation. I'm sure you know it before me. Let's see what we can do. Before the punishment comes. No. And then what? Return to me and I will return to you. And when Hashem will return to us in It will be a huge instant miracle. In a day, in a week, it will all turn around. Not the Arabs will be a problem and not Iran and not the wicked government. All of that will collapse in pieces if Hashem wants. But right now he doesn't want it. That's the problem. So return to me and I will return to you. There is another level of repentance. You repent because people embarrass you. You can't take the shame. Shame on you, look what became of you. Look at you, look at you. You are embarrassed. On my way here, someone called me up, texted me, and said, is the Father allowed to call his son Ishmael. Tell him, you Ishmael, why are you like this? What's the answer? Father, allow to call his son Ishmael? No. Why? Because once you call him like this, it will become more Ishmael. If it was a little bit Ishmael, now it's going to become a lot more Ishmael. But I asked the boy in text, but between me and you, if your father got to a level that he calls you Ishmael, don't you think it's about time to check yourself out? How do you bring it to such a situation? If a father calls his son Ishmael, it's like a father calling son Hitler. The father comes to his son and says, "Hey, you will add those." Then when you hear such thing, there are two options here. Either the father is totally mad, crazy, totally not insane, not sane, yeah, or that the boy is a real monster. One of the two. So don't you want to check yourself out? Maybe you are destroying him, maybe you are upsetting him, maybe he saw disappointment for you that already lost his mind, whatever happened happened. Have you called him such names? It's easy just to look at the other side of the wall. Usually people do not judge themselves. You can see when husband and wife come for "Shalom Bayit" issues, usually blame me, she blames them. Once in a while you see people that come and say, "I'm not saying I'm great. I have a lot of problems by me. I'm admitting, but that's what she does." Or the other way around, she says, "I'm not saying I'm perfect. I know I make a lot of mistakes." Oh, at least you know you're dealing with some honest people. When you put the finger on one and they are willing to take responsibility. When you see a couple, he blames them for everything, she blames for everything. How exactly you're gonna make them put Shuva? So illegal. The third one is when you see people like you that went off the path and what was their end? You see, people used to be like you, Shomer Shabbat. They stopped to keep Shabbat as they became older. They became secular and they became real criminals. And what was the end? This guy died, this one is in prison, this one is sick, this one is 50 years old and single. And you saw what happened to all your friends, one by one. And you say, you know what, before it happens to me, I better wake up. No one, none of my friends who went to that path succeeded in anything. They all divorced, they all have problems, they all have depressions, they all have children with problems. So what? They have money. Money does not solve even 1% of the problems in life. It's only convenience. But usually does not sell so many problems. You know, the best things in life are free. Really, believe it or not. You don't have to pay millions of dollars to have a baby. It comes naturally. You get it. You get married. Today the world is so rotten that today all got involved with money. Marriage is money, everything is money. We live in a generation that half of the rich people that get married, they make a prenuptial agreement. Because before they even get married, they already tell their wives, I don't trust you. I believe that you only came to me for that money. I don't really buy it that you really love me. Or even if I believe you that you love me, I already know how this kind of love ends. And I already know what you're going to do to me to free you from that. So I have to protect myself from you, meaning I look at you as my enemy. That's really what it means. You make agreements with enemies or potential enemies, right or wrong. So the third one is you see the punishments of other people who went that way and you get scared and you return back to Hashem. I don't want to end like them. Take me back, Father. And the fourth one is when you get sicknesses and problems and bankruptcies and who knows what, or terrible divorce. You have no one in life, you feel helpless. So because of that, you return to Hashem. Hashem, you're the only one who can save me. I tried him, I tried them, I tried the lawyer, I tried the rabbi. I tried the whole world, I tried the parents, I tried— I have no one left. So you return back to Hashem. These are 4 ways of coming back to Hashem. What's the best way of coming back to Hashem? Just recognizing who He is. No tragedies, no punishment, no fear. Just understanding how can I be so grateful ungrateful to the one who created me, who took care of all my needs, who gives me oxygen and clothes to wear and a place to live and a car and parents and brothers and sisters and children and a spouse and income. And I enjoy color and I enjoy relationship and I enjoy love and compassion. How can I take it for granted? So many gifts to a lousy person like me who's not worth a penny. What did I do in return to pay back? One rabbi, his daughter used to make some air for him, you know. It was windy. He was a human. He was a happy human. And he said to his daughter, listen, when I learn, it's too hot. Can you make me some air? So she came and she made him some air. And then when she did it, he squeezed some leaves for her and made her perfume. The perfume of those days were fresh leaves squeezed. He made her a nice perfume so she puts on herself. One time a huge breeze came. Naturally, and he said, "Oh Hashem, how many hours I will have to squeeze for you just for this one moment of bliss?" Which is a million times more than what she does. Imagine how much I had to squeeze just to pay for this kind of a wind that I got. And we take everything for granted. Who over here every day say to Hashem while he's walking in the street, I'm so lucky, I'm so grateful that I have legs. Thank you that I'm able to walk. Hashem, you have no idea how much I appreciate. Thank you for giving me legs. Thank you for giving me hands. Thank you for making me clever. Thank you for making me look okay. If you begin to analyze how much you owe Hashem, a billion years will not be enough to thank Him. But Hashem doesn't ask for a lot, really not a lot. He wants you to enjoy on Shabbat, to sleep, to dance, to sing, to eat well, to dress nice, to come meet your friends and family in the synagogue and sing together and listen to a nice speech and then go home go home, eat delicious food, and then have a nap, and then go to one hour nice class. Paradise in this world! And for that I will pay you eternity of pleasure for doing it. He did not ask us to torture ourselves, to electrocute ourselves, to starve ourselves. Only one day a year we have to torture ourselves a little bit. Fasting. 364 days enjoy, live, dress nice, sing, be happy, eat well, enjoy food. What's the problem? I'm not asking you to torture yourself. Just be decent. Trust me, you don't need to be a thief to make a living. I'll send you enough of money to eat. Work on your honesty. You know, I want to tell you something. I left tonight the house at 6 exactly, 6 o'clock, maybe even a few minutes before, 5 to 6. And I got here 8:22, you know, because of all the stuff. It really takes an hour and 20 minutes. It took an extra hour. This entire time when I left the house, probably was before, it's already 3 hours of pouring rain nonstop. Very strong rain. These 3 hours of rain does not fall in Israel in the entire winter. What you're spending in that 3 hours. No exaggeration. What you just had in 3 hours. You don't have in 6 or 5 months of winter in Israel. Sometimes rain in Israel, 10 minutes, stop. 20 minutes the most, stop. It starts so strong. And then you have 3 weeks no rain. And then another 10, 20 minutes, boom. 5 minutes, boom. That's it. Barely any rain. 3 hours and 5 hours and 4 hours, nonstop rain. Pouring rain. Cannot walk with me on prayer. I cannot speak, it's so strong. I want to ask you, how can it be? Which land Hashem loves the most, the Golan or Israel? The Golan. How do we know? That's the first in the Torah. First of all, the Torah told them, the land of milk and honey, the land that the eyes of your God is focused upon it from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. He did not say it about China, only Europe, or the world. The eyes of Hashem is always where? In a place that he likes. A woman has 100 pieces of jewelry. 99% of them are outdated, nothing special, but one worth millions. Which one she looks at all day? The one that worth $1,000 or $500, or the one that worth $4 or $5 million? So the jewel that she stared the most at Everybody knows that's the most precious land. If the Torah says that the land of Israel is the land that I always focus on, then you know right away it's the most important piece of land. And the second proof for that is there is no country in the world that every human being wants a share in it. Nobody fights to occupy China. Nobody wants to occupy Russia. Nobody wants to occupy it anyway, besides Muslims. They want everything. But nobody is thinking, you know what, let me go to Argentina and occupy Buenos Aires. You've never seen the whole world fighting, we want to come for Buenos Aires. Give us a piece or we start a war with you. All of a sudden the whole world wants a piece of Jerusalem. Armenians, they have churches in Jerusalem. Ottomans, the Turks, The headmaster is in Jerusalem. The Sanjuki, the British, the Romans, the Greeks, every one who you can think of came to occupy Jerusalem. But the one who said, the one who said the Holy Land is the blessed land. So in that case, I don't get it. If Israel is the blessed country, why in 3 hours they move here, you don't get there in 5 months? Right? In Kriyas Shema. And it says, if you don't listen to me, I will stop the heavens, and it's not going to be rain. No fruits or wheat and barley will grow, and you will all be destroyed. The only land in the world that the name is subject to the behavior of the people is Israel. Everywhere else, it's the laws of nature. Israel is a combination of laws of nature and behaving of the people. [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] Why? The behaving of the people. Hashem wants people to start crying and praying. The Torah brings many examples of it throughout the book of Deuteronomy. It's profound. Another verse, another verse, rabotai. Shuvah Yisrael ad Hashem Elokeh, hakikashaltaba avonecha. Return Israel all the way to your God because you failed with your sins. Aromecha means intentional sin. Matati means not intentional. Aviti means intentional. Pashati means intentional on purpose to get Hashem angry. 3 different levels of sin. 3 different levels of punishment. And then right next to it, it says, this was Hosea Hosea 14:2. Now we have Proverbs 3:12. Ki ed asher yoav Hashem, yo chiyah. Those that Hashem loves, he rebukes them. How? There are a few ways to rebuke a person that Hashem loves. One, you send them to the right speaker's lecture. Not a speaker that will tell them you're great, Don't worry, Hashem loves you. Why are you so uptight? Hashem loves all Jews. There's no such thing punishment. But wait, excuse me, Rabbi, what was the Holocaust? It wasn't a punishment? Oh, God's so big, we don't understand. If you go to this kind of speakers, you're going to end where they end. And believe me, it's not a good place. He sends you to a place when the speaker shake you up. You go home with mixed feelings. You're disappointed from yourself. You're nervous. You say, "Wow, I live in illusion. This was a big slap to my face. I better wake up." If 1% of what he told me tonight in the lecture is true, I'm in serious trouble. Now there is a chance you'll make Teshuvah. Other than that, there's no chance. No chance. 20 years will come. 20 years. There are people who go to the same place, I'm not saying names. 20 years, they did not improve by one second. In the family, they go back. One woman in Israel said to my assistant, "Rabbi Yisrachi is too strict for me. That makes me nervous. I like to listen to this speaker. That makes me feel great." My assistant is a clever guy, one of them in Israel. He said to her, "May I ask you a question?" I said, "How many years you been listening to that rabbi that you say?" She said, "3 years." And it's great. And you listen every day? "Every day." And what mitzvah you accepted on yourself since you started to listen to him? And she did accept one mitzvah. Do you know which one? Lighting Shabbos candles. 3 years. 3 years. I want to ask you a question. To light Shabbos candle and a minute later to drive a car or to turn the TV on or to light a cigarette. The Shabbos candle has any meaning behind it? Shabbos candle is an announcement. I'm accepting the holiness of Shabbat. Why we light Shabbos candle? Why? You know why? Who have this idea to light Shabbos candle? Who? In the old days they did not have electric. They had many, many candles in the house, in the walls, with oil. Oil, and there is a wick floating on the oil, and that's how you have light in the house. Not strong like here, but you have enough light to read. They also have lamps with oil in it. So you already have hundreds of, hundreds of candles in the house. Or dozens of them. What will make anything special for Shabbat? So on Shabbat you light special, special light, candles for Shabbat, meaning I'm accepting the holiness of Shabbat. If a minute later you break Shabbat, what is the point of announcing that I'm accepting the holiness of Shabbat? It's a joke. So if it's a woman that for the first time in her life she begins to make some step towards Hashem and she's on the way to become more and more observant, of course we will encourage her to light Shabbat candles. One thing leads to another. Now she lights candles, tomorrow she's gonna do Kiddush, then she's gonna stop driving the car. We expect her after 3 months to be Shomer Shabbat. She started a process. But if she learns Shabbat, can the law decree that she 100% not should learn Shabbat? My opinion, you don't have to agree with me, not everyone will agree with me among the rabbis. My opinion, she will be punished for it, for the first time. 3 years will You telling me, I'm accepting the holiness of Shabbat, and for 3 years you break Shabbat a minute later and break Shabbat? Don't you think it's too much? In the beginning, I understand. I understand. But after 3 years, don't you think it's about time to wake up? 3 years she was listening to someone's song, and she finally agreed to light Shabbos candles. When will she do kung fu bak in 300 years? Unfortunately, we don't have that much time. So those who Hashem loves, He rebukes them by giving them the right CDs, the right books, the right speakers, and the right punches. Accident here, sickness there, problem there, and Arab attack to was praying in the name of God, screaming Allahu Akbar, and gave you some punches and you fell on floor. All kinds of things. Thanks to this agony, you made repentance. That was a shame way to save your soul. Many people went to jail, became religious there. In Israel, I'm the guest of RNG. Every time I go to a mosque, I go to the jail in Israel where all the murderers are there, all the biggest criminals, they can hug me, they can see how ugly I am. You have no idea what happened in the jail. They do assassins over there, they plasma over there, murderers, rapists, all kinds of people that committed barbarities. You have to see them in beard sitting all day with food in. Learning Torah 14 hours a day. It's called the Torah division of the jail. You know how many secular prisoners are begging, applying to join that place? You have kosher food, you have speakers coming to give lectures over there, you watch Torah lectures on screen. You have a whole different, different jail. Different. It looks like a shiva. Just on the way there you see all the, you know, the fence and everything. Very scary. But once you're in, you have to see when I walk in, they're all singing. Unbelievable experience. Been there maybe 5, 6 times. Nowhere in the world they love me more than in a jail. Why? They don't have the structure. They don't have Levi, they don't have lefty, they don't have the phone, they don't have the brainwash of the internet. None of that. They are miserable, they are lonely, they are heartbroken. As the Torah says, they are all in the bottom of the bottom. And if there is one thing that can save their happiness, it's the Torah. Imagine how happy they are when they to discover Hashem. Imagine, I had the merit to make Jonathan Pollack religious. Jonathan Pollack, when he went to jail, he was not religious. When I went to Toronto, one of the trips there, I spoke in Eshatova there. After the lecture, I was 100 Hundreds of people. After the lecture, the lecturer woman came to me. I was surrounded by dozens of people. Nowadays, whenever I lecture in a different country, hundreds of people come. So she started to say, "Rabbi, Rabbi! Rabbi Fujimoto!" It's strange, usually people give you a name, or they tell you a name. David for Jonathan. I said, which Jonathan? He said, Jonathan Wallach. You made him religious. I said, I made him religious? I don't see that in my life. She said, but we gave him your CDs and Jonathan. Who are you? I'm his sister-in-law, the sister of his wife. I said, it's real what you said? Yes. I still don't I did not believe fully. But 2 weeks later, Rav Mordechai Eliyahu went to visit him in jail. He had very few visits in all the years when he was there, more than 30 years. Very few. He can't complain. He was totally isolated. The chief rabbi of Israel, Rav Mordechai Eliyahu, they allowed him to go visit him and actually to take a picture. And I saw him with a beard and a yarmulke. And I saw the Jew, right? But I still have a doubt, a little bit. How do I know? Maybe for something else. Then I have this Caucasian barkeeper from Bolivia. He sells medical supplies. A few months ago, before we went to Israel, he called up. He said, I went to a doctor's office in Manhattan. I wanted to supply the medical supplies. Who do I stay with there? Jonathan followed his wife. I forget so what. I said— he said to him, I'm a student of Rabbi Kushevsky. I heard that you make your gifts in jail. He said to him, do you really want to meet with him? So he said to him, I love Rabbi Kushevsky very much. I thank you very much. But I— because I love him, he doesn't want to come meet with me. If he will come meet with me, the FBI would never leave him alone. Everyone comes to me right away, they torture him. They don't give him freedom, food, everything, they'll kill him. But Baruch Hashem, they released him. That was one of the good things that Rabbis did. And what did they do in return to Rabbis? More than 50 jobs, 75% of them. No matter how nice he was to the Jews, they always make sure to be True or false? But it's not us. I send a email to his son, Donald Trump Jr. I told him in the name of the decent Jewish people, the rabbis, the religious, the normal ones, not those lefties, that lost touch, that have no connection to God. Please tell your father we love and admire and very grateful to your father for the incredible job. And make sure you've never been weak. By seeing what these traitors do to him, because what they do to him, they do a lot worse to them than to God, who will never give them oxygen to breathe. So there's nothing to expect from these criminals, we get it. But not all of us are like this, you know? Very important. Why should a person who do so much for Israel and so much for the Jewish people and will go and fight this evil, malicious, radical Islam, and in the end the Jews instead of thanking him and stand on the street Like liberals, lefties, reformers, conservatives, gays, all the evilness in the world goes together. To make teshuvah is also to change your political view. Still vote Democrat, you're still wicked. You are less wicked because you're not so much a Nazi, of course. And now you love it and you do it, so you make less sins. But you're still rotten in your ideology because a kosher Jew can never vote Democrat because Democrat wants to marry men with men and to turn the world into flat earth. Someone that is a lover of Hashem will never give his hand to something like that. Not to gay parade, not to gay marriage, not to have mercy on murderers, not to help radical Islam. And really teach us truth? We'll vote for something like that? That's impossible. Before we finish, if a person did not surrender yet after all the suffering and did not see that all the tragedies and the sadness of his life is all because of his behavior, because of his sins, he will say it's all nature, coincidence, bad luck, I should have never went there, I should have left the house earlier, All kinds of excuses. It's his fault. It's her fault. He destroyed my life. She destroyed my life. None— you never take responsibility. He's fault. Her fault. As a result of thinking like this and behaving like that, Hashem will increase his punishments and torture. Where does Rashi doesn't say it clearly. Your best. If you do not recognize that I'm the one that punched you, I will multiply your punches 7 times more. Which Parasha? If until now you did not get the point, from now on you're going to get 7 times more luck. 7 times more. One person was torturing you financially? Next month it will be 7. You had one sickness? 7 sicknesses. One enemy? 7 enemies. One parking ticket, 7 are coming. Yes, it's written in the Torah, but I, I'm not the bad guy who came to give you bad news here. I only came to tell you what will happen one way or the other. It's inevitable. There's nothing we can do. There's only one thing you can do, it's teshuvah. But teshuvah needs to be done correctly. So We sing daily in Psalms, Psalms 25. What do we say? Verse 18: Look at my suffering and my efforts and forgive all my sins. What do you learn from this verse? What do you learn? Who knows what you learn? I will repeat. See my suffering. If after all this suffering and persecution you're not doing teshuvah, now it's time to wait and Next verse from chapter 7, verse 8. What does it say? Don't be happy, my enemies, that you see me now that I collapse. I will rise back on my feet. Right now I'm in the darkness searching for the right path, but Hashem is my light. It will push me back to the right path, meaning after the darkness, what comes? Comes the light. Who are the two people that Hashem cannot stand? Two kinds of people. Who knows? First one— Now, who are the two people that Hashem cannot stand? You know, proud people and ungrateful people. Where does it say it? Who knows? Where does it say that Hashem cannot stand proud people? Let me read it to you. Someone who has nothing to brag about. No Torah, no wisdom, no righteousness, no knowledge whatsoever, no good traits, nothing. There are few people that Hashem cannot stand. Someone who has nothing to offer but is still proud. Someone that is rich but does not want to give Hashem the credit. I made my own way. I went to college. I became a doctor. I worked very hard for my money. And everything you see is thanks to me and my wisdom. No. A lot of people speak like this. I heard it thousands of times on the ground. People that speak like this, Hashem cannot stand them because he gave them everything they have and they still make any— What does it mean, "Saken mena'ev"? He's in his 70s, 80s, and he runs after women many years old, like Las Vegas. With no shame. He can be a grandfather or great-grandfather. Huh? Sometimes great-grandfather. But definitely grandfather. And in Vegas there's no shame. You see cowboys 75 years old with their hats and girls next to them 22, 28. Walking hand in hand. In the airport. The airport is a casino. I went few times to Vegas to give lecture. I had the shock of my life. Coming out of the plane, One of the things I saw about old people with young girls, a situation of a dance figure, supposedly. This is how we talk to each other. A leader of a community and all the people for his ego, for his honor, not for the sake of heaven. All it is, it's about him. It could be a rabbi, it can be a rosh yeshiva. He tells people the right thing, but he wants actually to rule them like a cult. It's all about him. It's nothing to do with the Torah. It's, you listen to me and surrender to me, or I'll kick you out That's called— The last thing for today, it's written in the Book of Daniel 10:12. Daniel. Don't be scared, Daniel. From the first day you finally understood and to actually put some efforts in front of your God. And the prayers started to get accepted. Conclusion. Conclusion. Hashem said to the prophet Daniel, don't be afraid anymore. From the minute you finally got the point, from the minute you start to work very hard, even torture yourself for the truth, your words are heard and welcome. By your God. That's a message for each one of us. You want Hashem to listen to you? There are a few requirements first. First, don't be a financial liar. Don't be ungrateful. Don't be cheap when it comes to charity. Support Yeshiva. Support kosher Jews. Support great Books like this, someone donated this, put many books out there, paid for it, $20 each book. Why do you do it? If 20 world Jews get inspired, I will earn a huge reward. Best is to give it to total people that do not know anything. That's going to prove them everything they need to know, everything. There's no doubt, it's right here in the box. You can take, read it, and give it out to people. And just before it will become darkness here, just before it become darkness in the world. I was in my Rabbi's own garden over there for one time. 7 times the batim of power out in one week. 7 times! There was so many people there, we are conditioned to not cool the place. They kept making it lower and lower. Boom! The light would go down. They put it back on, and it was so hot. So they again— so half of the lecture was in the dark. Rabot Hashem, today we had a special message from Rabbi Moshe, the next speaker, and he told us exactly what's happening in the dark. It's a great honor for a person that make repentance to make confession, to reveal his sins, things that he did wrong to other people. Things that he did wrong to Hashem, you do not reveal to the world. But if you hurt who then? In a synagogue. It's a great thing to apologize to him in public. If you insulted someone in public, the apology should be in public. If you hurt the community, if you did all kinds of things that many people are upset at you, whether in school, whether in shul, whether in yeshiva, whether in your team, people do things. The apology has to be in public. Someone that covers for his crime will not succeed. Someone that covers his crimes, he thinks Hashem is blind. He can fool the people, but he can't fool Hashem. Someone with me confesses. I'm guilty, I take responsibility. Leaving the scene, will get mercy. Monday night, when the shofar will be heard Tuesday morning, that's the moment a person has to repent. Wake up! When you sleep. What's the shofar? The shofar came to wake the heart out, to wake us up. When you hear the shofar, if you're really, really righteous, you faint. Some people hear the shofar, they faint. As it's written, why does it call shofar? Hazal say when a lion roar, who will not get scared? The blood freeze. I one time was in the Ramadan in safari, but the other side of the world, there's grass over there. Farma Kabya, if you know. So you have a wall and I had no idea that right on the other side of that wall are the lions. It was night. We were a bunch of friends. All of a sudden, it was around 9 PM, the lion over there roared. At night it's so loud, we almost got a heart attack. You know how loud it is? Especially at night. You have no idea. The blood freezes. Back then I didn't know the When the lion roars, who doesn't get panic and scared? Same thing Chazal say about the shofar. Why we blow out the shofar? The shofar is the horn of the ram of Avraham Avinu that he took him instead of Yitzchak and slaughtered him and sacrificed him in the Moriah Mountain where B'Tamidash later came. In Jerusalem, right above the Western Wall. That was right there. Abraham and Yitzchak, right there. When you stand by the Kotel and you see the Ishmaelim over there, right there. Yaakov had his dream right there. Abraham took Yitzchak. All the things that happened. The gate of heaven is the Torah Sefer right there. Yitzchak is a memory of Abraham willing to sacrifice his only son after waited for him 99 years. When Abraham was 100, Yitzchak was born. Sarah was 90, biggest miracle ever. After 37 years, 37 of life, Abraham is 137. Hashem said to him, okay, You know the test, no questions asked. 5 in the morning, you have to slalom. Please allow me to do the mitzvah. I say to Hashem, Hashem said no, you prove yourself. I was only testing you. It's written. And that's why we're going to read in Rosh Hashanah. That's one reading, and the second reading is Sarah. Why are we talking about Sarah? And after we talk about Rachel, why are we talking about all the barren, all the barren women? Why? The answer is, what— when the barren women became pregnant, Sarah said to Avraham, I cannot I cannot give you a child. Go to this other, Agar. She was hoping he would tell her, no, God forbid, I'm with you to the end. But he said, okay, and he went. And until today we suffer for it. 1.8 billion Arabs. You know how much we suffer? Security, airports, get a drink, you could fly, take off your shoes, take off your pants. So Abraham would be the one who would land up. If he refused, he would never land up. Think about it. Would you ever think like that? Abraham would say, I'm not going to go there, go back to Egypt. Get out of here. Maybe the whole world would look different. But we take for granted all of us Armenians, all the shamanists, these bad guys. That would be easy. Yeah, Iran, no, Iran actually is not too shamed. The Turks are also not ashamed. Nigerians also not ashamed. Half of the Muslims are not. We have Bosnian, we have all kinds of Muslims that are later joined in. You know who is ashamed? Arabs. So Rivka came to— Rachel came to Yaakov. "Habanibanim bimayim meta anochi." "Give me kids, if not I'm dead." From here Hazal says someone who has no children is a dead person. No happiness. Yaakov said to her, "Am I God? I have kids from Leah. The problem is by you. Pray." Ataha telokim anoche, Zlafonit came to Manoach. Manoach was the father of Shimshon. Zlafonit is his mother, she was a barren. Or Elkanah. Hannah came to Elkanah. She said to him, give me kids. What do you need kids? I'm better for you from 10 kids combined. Something is not adding up here. The wife comes to a righteous husband, do something. What does he say? You do it. Go to Hashem, don't come to me. Why do we read it on Rosh Hashanah? To teach all people, don't count on people, count only on Hashem. No middleman. Not people not that tzaddik, not this rabbi, not this holy man, not this Baba. Come directly to me. All barren women, the minute they realized their husband cannot help them, the tzaddik, only Hashem, and they actually went to Hashem, Hashem gave them a child. So what do you see from here? Going to holy people, as holy as they are, sometimes make it to get a blessing from a tzaddik, fantastic, but to think he's the one who's going to make me a white man, that's already heresy. It happens to a lot of Jews. The Rebbe is making shiduchim. The Rebbe gave me a child. The Rebbe gives me parnassah. The Rebbe answered my question even though he's in the grave already for 25 years. The Rebbe connects me to Hashem even though he's in the grave for 200 years. People lost their mind. You don't need middlemen. You go directly to Hashem, you pray to Hashem, and you count only on Hashem. Don't count on generous people. Let's not say wicked people. We count on wicked people. And Torah says don't count on righteous people, on the divine, people with generous heart and love to help. Don't count on them. Whatever you get from them, you get from me, not from them. If it's not, then it will be anyway something else. I'm the one who supply. Why are you giving the credit to my messenger? Imagine a billionaire send you $100,000 check because you need a surgery. Delivery, and there is a guy with a scooter. You know, the messenger in Israel, he comes with a scooter and he gives you the check, and you think you hug him, you kiss him, thank you, you saved my life. He say, hey, hey, what's wrong with you? I'm only the delivery man. Why are you giving me credit? That's us giving credit to this one and this one. The credit is only to Hashem. That's what Hashem, I want to wish each one of you. Shalom. The matova is mysterious in a certain dimension, but if you know what you should like or not to do, what you did not face until now, now between now and you're going to go, it's critical. You can fix a lot. Best thing is, besides working on yourself, besides stopping the sins, besides praying a lot, besides meditating, as teachers say, give time Hands of charity. Hands, literally. Hands. Everyone according to his ability. Make it hurt. God forbid in Rosh Hashanah Hashem writes to you, dead from Corona. This will save you from dying 34 mornings of fasting. There is no other insurance. Just this. Sacrifices in the Beit Hamikdash do not save from death. They can help you to put Shuvah, but they don't save from death. But "Stakha tatzeim mimaveh," it's a clear verse. "Stakha" save from a death that was sealed. Sealed and signed by Hashem. In this particular day, he's supposed to die in a horrible way. And then he gives a huge amount and it hurts and it's called tzedakah. Make sure every once in a while to give a big charity to a kosher place. Most recommended one is to save people and make them religious. Most recommended one. Also very recommended, poor people that sits and learn Torah. Rich people don't need charity if they sit and learn Torah. They come from rich family and the parents support them. Almost everyone is poor. The guys in my college in Sharaim don't have money for bus. One has bicycle, one has scooter. Even bus, which is— you check it, you check it— $1 or $2 a day, you know. But there you go. You get a small salary, the wife works. Life is very expensive. Jerusalem is more expensive than than New York. More expensive. Rent is more expensive. Food is more expensive. Everything is more expensive. Everything. Cars is 2.5 times more. Gasoline is 3 times more. Everything is more expensive. Life is very expensive. People paying $6,000, $7,000 a check of rent for one tiny bed apartment, size of a bathroom in Brooklyn. Very expensive. Expensive. You cannot believe the price. You go to a much lower there, you can live over there. You cannot believe a storage room, one storage room without anything, one little tiny bathroom, no room, just one room. They turn a storage into a room, they want 7,000 shekels. Why? Israel becoming the most expensive real estate in the whole world already. I don't think there's one city in the world more expensive than Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. You don't think? You have in Tel Aviv apartments now worth more than 100 million shekels. Apartments. Hard to believe. In Jerusalem, the cloud. Do you know how much these that cost around the Old City? You have a private home around the Western Wall. Could be 30 million dollars. Easily, and only goes higher and higher every month. And the poor people, the Israelis, not the Americans, they barely make a living, and the rent is keep going higher and higher. They cannot make it, but they don't want to give up the Torah. They live in such suffering. Sometimes they cannot buy milk. Those are the one we are responsible Those are the ones who want to take someone, I sponsor you, don't worry for money. Want to take my master, give you single rent a month. How much they need? $200 and they're happy. But they sit in the middle from morning to night all month. You become a supporter of someone like that, you sponsor lectures on YouTube, goes to tens of thousands of people and make them inspired, your olama ba will be very wealthy. But if all your money goes to your BMWs and your Mercedes-Benzes, Mercedes and your expensive watches, you will never forgive yourself for burning hundreds of thousands of dollars on this stupidity. You will never forgive yourself. And people that invest and buy their children expensive cars here, $400,000 or $200,000 car, when they come in front of Hashem, they will regret that moment. You have no idea how much they will, because Hashem will show them, if you buy your son a little nice Toyota a Toyota that drives very well, and you would take the extra $150,000 and support the whole kollel for one year, you would have a trillion mitzvot. What mitzvah you got for buying him a Mercedes? Zero. Only sins. Only show-off. Only problems. Only pride. Only nothing. Why didn't you earn a billion mitzvot? Because you're a fool. You let the Satan make you fool. Out of you. And that's what I keep screaming and screaming. And every once in a while you have a Jew that listens. You're right. Instead of doing this and this and that, from now on, every time I want to go to a fancy restaurant and spend $1,500 a meal, instead of that, I'll eat home and give $1,000 to two Avrechim. Oh, you know how much you make Hashem happy? Wow, two more Jews would sit at a for one month to work from morning to night because you gave up your stupid steak. $200 a beef. How much you enjoy from the steak? 10 minutes? You and your wife in a fancy restaurant here, fancy restaurant. How much the beef? More than $500 in a good restaurant. You and your wife alone. $500 is 600,000 multiplied by 6 is 3.6 million a week. 14,400,000 mitzvot. This dinner, you and your wife, $500 in a restaurant for kosher, 2 steaks, that kosher, it's 14,400,000 mitzvot. How did I do the math? One, I was guessing my colleague received $500 a month. And he learned 6 days a week, 4 weeks, 10 hours a day. 10 hours, 60,000 hits for 10 hours, 600,000 hits for 10 days. 6 days, 3.6 million hits for. Multiply by 4, almost 15 million hits for. For one been there. 15 million is what you will get. Now you tell me, when you stand in front of Hashem and Hashem will tell you, why do you need to give that to him? I would prefer to stay instead. Makes sense? Scary, huh? When you think about it this way, it's very scary. That's the truth. That's the right way to think about life. I'm not telling you you don't enjoy life. I'm not telling you don't ever be home. You want to have guests, fine. I'm not telling you don't have a good, comfortable, solid furniture. I'm not telling you don't buy a nice, comfortable car. Everything you need, do. I'm talking about the extra luxury that is not necessary. That extra luxury only destroys yourself. Learn to give it up and take that money systematically and give it out to save souls and to support the world. If you do that, you will thank me for billions of years after you leave the world. It's not my advice, it's the advice of Chazal. You can get the free CDs. Ami, do you have a lot of them? Download it, use these. You have USBs there, you have free CDs, you have Thank you very much.
