What Doesn't Come Through The Head Will Come The Hard Way - Current Events And The Big Earthquake

Mike Kushevsky connects Torah teachings to current threats facing Israel, from earthquake preparedness to spiritual decline. A 1927 earthquake killed thousands; a similar quake today could kill over 100,000 people. He argues that repentance and strengthening Torah values are the only protection against coming disaster.

Good evening. Good to be back here, Baruch Hashem, after more than a month. So far they said there are 3,000, 4,000 dead, but the way things are looking and speaking to people from Turkey, It's probably going to reach more than 30,000 dead. And there could be even a lot more. And there are millions of people who, as of now, they have no place to sleep, not even a tent. 4 million refugees between the border of Syria and Turkey were already sleeping in tents. Everything got destroyed. It will take probably days until they'll be able to get new tents there, and it's 0 degrees, freezing weather there. For so many years, I've been speaking about things that the Gemara say about one of the reasons why the earth is shaking, why there are earthquakes in the world, why Hashem is so angry sometimes at nations and countries that He in one second destroyed cities and countries to the ground. The Gemara spoke about it. The Gemara brings a list of things. Some of them does not apply today because we don't have a Beit Hamikdash, so we don't have Maa'asrot. But some of them applies very much today. And when the people wants to modify the law of nature and they would like men to go with men and women with women and people with animals and everything that is strange that is not according to the plan of the Creator of the world. So that's when God punishes us, "Mida keneged mida"—measure for measure. You want to destroy the law of nature? I will destroy the law of nature. And then a massive disaster is coming again and again and again. Nobody learns the lesson. It's very sad to see what's happening. It's so sad that even Israel is giving help to Syria, one of our main enemies in the world. Like the Torah says, "When your enemy collapses, don't be happy." Even though the Torah meant Jew to Jew, you have a cousin that gave you a lot of hard time and Hashem now is punishing him. Don't be happy about it. Why? Because one of your brothers is being punished. The Torah didn't refer to our enemies. When the enemies collapsed, the Torah didn't say not to be happy because as you know in this parasha which we read yesterday, the nation of Israel was singing to God about the destruction of Egypt. As Yashir Moshe, Moshe with the men and Miriam, his sister, with the women singing and praising Hashem for destroying Egypt. More or less of what's happening now. It's very interesting, the destruction of Egypt. Usually when there is horrible disasters, it always connects to the weekly subject of the week, what we read in the synagogues of the parasha. Now we're talking about the destruction of Egypt, the 10 plagues, we just finished with that, look what happened. Who knows how many years it's gonna take? Remember the massive earthquake in Japan and in Haiti? That's a similar size. It took years, took years in Japan, which they are a very advanced country. It took them years to go back to normal, if they even did. I don't know if they are 100% back to normal. Haiti, it's destroyed until today. I mean, this country can never get back on their feet. It's very interesting. In Istanbul, which is the main city of Turkey— they have Izmir, they have Istanbul— that's, I think, 17 million people live in Istanbul. That's where all the Jews live. A few thousand Jews live in Istanbul still. Even though after I was there, Baruch Hashem, a few years ago, many of the Turkish Jews made Aliyah to Israel. When I go to Israel, I meet them there. They moved. But there are still thousands of Jews living in Istanbul and Hashem had mercy on them. They could have been in Istanbul as well. But in Istanbul nothing happened. There's a lot of Israelis that I know right now are in Istanbul. You have to understand, a lot of Israelis go to Turkey for two reasons. One is for cheap shopping. Everything there is a quarter of the price or less than what you buy it in Israel. So if you need to do your teeth, let's say if you would have to spend $15,000 in Israel, in Turkey you'll do it for $2,500. You understand? 80% cheaper. If you want to do transplants, hair transplants, you know, in the hair, $3,000 include the hotel, the trip, everything. It fills up your whole head. You're not bald anymore. If you wanted to do it in Israel, probably $20,000. Rabbi, can you leave Israel for that medical reason? Yeah, the Israeli go to Turkey all the time. Plus, about Halacha point of view, can you leave Israel? Halacha, you're not allowed to leave Israel for the 4 reasons I already gave. But people don't care about halacha. This is all secular people. And they go there and there's also other surgeries. People go there for other surgeries which are much cheaper. Plus, plus shopping. They go, they buy clothes, they buy everything. The Turkish currency, it's so low that you can buy a lot more now than ever before. So that's the reason why all of them goes to Turkey. Plus vacation is a quarter of the price. If you wanted to go in a hotel in Eilat, will cost you 3, 4 times more. So people just take a flight. Sometimes they fly in the morning, fly back at night. It's worth it for them. They fill up suitcases with all kinds of things. They bring it back. But where they go? They go to Istanbul. And Istanbul, it was— Nothing, basically. I spoke to somebody there. I asked him, did you hear anything shaking? He said, no, nothing in Istanbul. Turkey is huge. In Israel, everybody shook today. Furniture, houses, buildings. Some buildings now they have to check that they don't collapse in Israel. The Gemara said that one of the reasons Hashem brings natural disasters to the nations is to wake up the Jewish nation to repent. Whenever Hashem decides to punish a country or to give them whatever, you know, horrible things, it's also for us to know that could have been us. Not that we are so righteous. You know, according to the Torah, I said it hundreds of times in the past, almost not one of us deserves to live according to the straight rules of the Torah. Dry law. Every mechalel Shabbat, the Torah already said that he doesn't deserve to live. Every idol worshipper. Every person who contradicts the laws of nature, men with men, all kinds of things like this. And murderers and so many people that the fact that they are alive right now, it's already a miracle for them. Because if Hashem would actually practice the law immediately, almost nobody would be left. There's a lot of people who goes with the, you know, married women, people that goes with other forbidden relationship. It's terrible things that happening right now. So this is a wake-up call for us that Hashem is waking us up. For us to wake up. Before I go into the parasha, I would like to inform all the dozens of people that over the last 2, 3 years, they were sending me complaints that they tried to make Aliyah to Israel and the Jewish agency, which there is nothing Jewish about them, nothing whatsoever, They are worse than any goyim you know on earth. They are very antisemites and they are God haters and they hate Torah. There's nothing Jewish about them. Of course, there's a lot of people who work there. I'm not talking about everyone. I'm talking those who make the decisions over there on the top. They made a law for themselves. We do not want religious people to come to Israel. You know, so I've been saying it for years. A few days ago on Channel 14, that's the channel that interviewed me if you saw the interview. There's a bald guy, Boaz Golan, very popular. His show is very, very popular. He's a righty, he's not religious, but he puts tefillin every day. He loves the religion. And he said in his show, he brought facts that for every Jew who comes to Israel, 3 non-Jews are coming to Israel. So that means only 25% of the immigrants to Israel are Jewish. They on purpose bring only non-Jews to Israel. Those who come to Israel, those who they call them Jews, many of them are not considered Jews according to the halacha anyway. Either the mother is not Jewish or the grandmother, whatever. But they bring them in. They bring a lot of secular people and lots of gays people that they know that will vote for the left, what we call in America Democrats. Same thing what the Democrats are doing here. They bring a lot of people from Mexico and from all kinds of places knowing these people will need money, will need food stamps, will need social help, and the Democrats will offer them bribe to vote Democrats. And they will be very happy that the Democrats will promote their green cards and make them citizens. And they destroyed America by bringing a lot of illegal immigrants. They flood America with those people. Hussein Obama brought his brothers, the Muslims, hundreds of thousands of them just from Syria. I heard he brought 100,000 Arabs from Syria. They flooded here America. And what's happening? Of course they're not going to vote Republican. So they don't care what happened to America. They just want to make sure they stay in charge. They'll be in control. Same thing they do in Israel. These lefties, they do everything they can to flood Israel with not religious people that they know they'll vote for the left. Religious people all vote for the right. They don't want them. They look at us as enemies. Okay, this was until now. Baruch Hashem, now there's a new government. And when I was now in Israel, I made a lot of noise. And finally I met with a person that is in charge of all the immigration of Israel. And we became good friends. Baruch Hashem. A friend of mine, a student of mine made the meeting. And he told me now, every case that they gave them hard time, and I know there are many, many cases that they kept telling them, bring this document, bring that, bring your grandparents, bring your uncle, and they kept moving people from one agent to the other, dragging it for years until people gave up to do aliyah. I need all these people to email me urgent. Every one of them. If you want to make Aliyah now, it's going to be fast and easy. But I need to get all the information. I need an email to describe exactly what you had to go through. Like, for instance, this one convert, tzadikah, she lives here in Long Island. She's the perfect candidate to make Aliyah. One individual religious woman, very classy. She doesn't need help from the government, money. She has her own money. They gave her hell. They kept switching her from one place to another, asking for not realistic documents. Until she said to the guy, she heard about what I said, that they doing it on purpose. So she said to the guy, why don't you just say, that you don't want me because I'm religious and I will give up. But why are you wasting my time? So the guy says, I'm insulted. Are you suspecting me that I'm against religion? Just today I brought two people into Israel that they just got married. What? A man and another man. The guy is so dumb. That he doesn't even understand. He said to her, just today I helped a couple, a couple to make Aliyah. You know how much I helped them? Of course. You want to turn Israel to Sodom. You don't want righteous people there. You only want to bring wicked people. But these days are hopefully over. I'm saying hopefully because When it comes to politics, the Satan is working very hard behind the scenes. There's another one, another convert begging for more than 6 years to make Aliyah to Israel. They do not want to let her make Aliyah. They found an excuse that she has a son. The son is raised by the family. Not by her. She couldn't raise the son. She converted and the son is not. So they say to her, "No, we're afraid that your son is also gonna want to come to Israel." They bring every day hundreds of goyim. That's their goal. They're telling her, "We do not want you to make Aliyah because what if your son will one day come to visit you and stay in Israel?" Such liars. That's what you want. You want goyim to come to Israel, but they don't want religious. So 6 years they gave her hell. You had to see how many agents they transferred her to from the beginning to start the whole process again and again and again and again. They don't let you. But now it's a new government. It's now Rydys. It's more religious people. It's changing now. —But the agency is the same, Rabbi. —The agency is the same, but don't worry about it. There's things I cannot say right now. But that's it. They're not going to be able to torture people as they used to. So, be'ezrat Hashem, but now it's on a limited time. No joke. Don't wait. I want to get hundreds of emails tomorrow because I know there's hundreds of victims that spoke. At least 100 spoke to me in the last 3 years. At least. I need those. I mean, I'm not so organized. I'm not gonna be able to find— I don't know what to search. I don't remember names. I need every email with information. I will send him everything in one shot. Now, obviously, the more emails I have, the more it makes my case. You see, if nobody will care and no— even people, by the way, even people who gave up and they don't want to make Aliyah anymore, because things change in their life and now it's not anymore an option, I still need them to email me and tell me exactly what they had to go through. This time, Baruch Hashem, I have friends in the government in key positions, ministers, important people, and we're gonna put an end to it. You understand? So I need it. If people won't send, later they're gonna cry, why, why I couldn't make Aliyah? This is your opportunity now to do Aliyah. Let's move on. We read, Baruch Hashem, Parashat Beshalach. After we finished the 10 plagues, as you know, in Parashat Vayera, we read 7 of the plagues, and then we went to Parashat Bo and we read 3 more. Why they divided it to 2 different chapters? Because the first 7 are different than the last 3. Why? Because every one of the 7 plagues that Hashem put on the Egyptians in the beginning, they could still repent. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, still had an option to repent and save his nation from disaster, from destruction. After the 7th plague, Hashem said to Moshe in Parashat Voh, Lo ishma paro elechem, paro will not listen to you. Le'ma anrebot muftay be'eretz Mitzrayim. Why? I'm going to now put a show, a magic show. Wow, it's very interesting. Remember the little mosquito? Came back. Remember? Unbelievable. Those of you who listen for years, you know there's a special soul of someone Every time we have a lecture here for months, he comes and stays for 2 hours next to my head, that little tiny mosquito. And when the lecture finishes— maybe he wants to do Aliyah, tell him to email me the application. Anyway, so, so, Rabbi Tzvi, by the way, they spoke in Israel on the news about this mosquito. In one of the internet channels, they said the Gilgul of someone, reincarnation of someone. No joke. Why a mosquito would show up every Monday of the year, stand for 2 hours and leave? What could it be? Since when mosquitoes want to join the Torah? Anyway, I know you're smiling, but I'm serious. One of the punishments of people is to be reincarnated in animals. As the Ari HaKadosh explained in Shaar HaGilgulim, the Gate of Repentance. You know, and obviously a person that is alive can still fix his soul by keeping Mitzvot, repenting, fixing his traits. Then he doesn't need to be reincarnated again, not as a person and not as animals and not as raw material or anything else, or plants. If he does it on his own, that's it, he goes to heaven, it's done. If he doesn't, then it's gonna get done one way or the other, but it's gonna be a lot more painful. So anyway, after the 7th plague, Hashem said to Moshe, that's it, from now on, I took the heart of Pharaoh, it's stiff, I tighten it, I took away his will, his free will. He cannot send you anymore. It's like talking to the wall. Why? Because the show is about to begin. Everybody will see what I'm going to do to these wicked Egyptians. And Hashem destroyed it. Think about it. Blood, first shot. That was their god. First attack destroyed their god. In Egypt, the water comes up and it goes through tunnels. They make like tunnels. It goes all the way to the fields. There was no hose, no pumps, no water company, no sprinkler system. So they had to bring water from the Nile all the way to the fields. But the problem is when the Nile is low, the water don't come up. It will only reach the field when the water starting to come up. Then the water goes like a spider web in all the paths that they dug. and it gets all the way to the field and from there they take buckets and put it all over for the vegetables, whatever they grow. So for them, the source of life was this water, the Nile. It was a big river in Africa all the way to Egypt. Immediately the whole thing became blood. All the fish died. Billions of fish floating on the water. Horrible smell, diseases. Who knows what could have happened? Just try to imagine. Go to one tiny lake. If all the fish will die, let's see if the lake will freeze completely. Obviously all the fish will die. When the water defrosts, you're gonna see thousands of thousands of fish floating on the water. 3, 4 days later, do you know what's gonna happen over there? It's gonna be crows eating it. It's gonna be pieces of meat everywhere. It's disaster. It's not just, okay, for few days there's no water. No! The Torah say all the fish died. So now there's no seafood. And now you have to work for months to clean all the dead fish. You know how many? Billions. It's a huge river. Everything dead is coming towards Egypt. They have to go with nets and collect it and bury it. Dig holes in the ground or burn it. Think about it. It's disaster. Similar to these earthquakes that you see right now. What a headache. People lose everything they have. People lose their homes. People lose their documents. Nothing is left from their life. Their phones, their contact people. Basically, it's like you're left alone. Alone in the world. With not one thing in your hand besides some ripped clothes, dusty, that are left on your body. And now you hope that all kinds of charitable organizations will supply you with food or something to wear, or forget about shower. It's probably going to be weeks now until somebody there will be able to have a shower. It's hell on earth. We see hell in front of our eyes. For those who are skeptics and they think, is there such a thing? You know how these people say, oh, Hashem doesn't punish. No, enough with this nonsense. Hashem punish and he punishes all the time. And those who deny the punishment deny one of the main 13 principles of Judaism, as I said 4,000 times already. Sometimes Hashem rewards and sometimes He punishes. And that's life. And you want to deny it, you want to live in denial. You know what happened to people that lives in illusion and denial? One day that illusion explode in their face and the pain, when it will happen, will be probably 100 times worse if you become prepared for it you can handle it. If it will hit you by surprise, it will be too late already. By now there will be nothing for you to do. That's why I'm educating people for already so many years, almost 3 decades. Do not wake up when it's too late. You're gonna miss the train. And don't be impressed by all the losers and the clowns who make fun. In Israel, they have a saying: "Zochek mishet zochek acharon." We will see who would laugh in the end. Rabbi, it's actually a Russian saying. It's a Russian saying? Yeah, they say it in Russian. Yeah, you know that Israel started after the religious people came, all the Russian communists and Polish, they all came to Israel and they brought a lot of that culture into Israel. Such as kibbutz, Istadrut, Pinkas Adom. The songs that we used to sing in school, it was all Russian melodies. But I just put Hebrew words. Probably, I won't be surprised if you're right. It's a Russian saying. Okay. But it's a clever saying. It doesn't matter who invented it. One way or the other is, it doesn't matter who laughs in the middle of the battle. Two boxers are punching each other. After 6 rounds, one of them is jumping, you know, smiles everywhere. Just before the end, he got one punch, crushed his head to pieces, and he fell and died. Who's laughing now? That's it. Let the wicked people say whatever they want. Let them do whatever they want. In the end, like King Solomon said, in the end, conclusion, What the human being is all about, what is it? Keep the mitzvot, keep the Torah, and that's it. Now everything else is background noises, background, it's not the main thing. The main thing Hashem put you here to be righteous. You be righteous, you win. You won't, you lose. That's it. So Rabotai, right after that comes frogs. Billions of frogs jumping into your bedroom, into your bathroom, into your food. And the noise, you know the noise? And then bad animals. And then hail, each piece of ice like the size of a tennis ball. Breaking everything, killing the animals. Some people knew that it's coming, so they made the animals go into the living room. You imagine you sit in your living room and you have a camel there. And his head is banging into the ceiling. And a horse and a donkey, and they're not exactly crazy about each other, those animals. And they leave some tracks. Imagine you have to be for a few days when the hail is killing the other animals of the ignorant Egyptians who never actually hid their animals inside the house. Their animals are dying outside. Your animals are in your bedroom and in your living room. I don't have to tell you how difficult it was, right? Look what Hashem did to them, and they still do not want to release the Jewish nation, the slaves. We'll pass it. It's natural disaster. It's pressure. It's, you know, all kinds of excuses. I'm sure they had their own scientists who sold them all kinds of theories. But in the end, you saw what happened. So that was introduction. Now we're starting Vayibeshalach parasha. Finally, Hashem left him no choice. Every house there is a dead kid, at least one. In some houses, 3 kids died. But it's supposed to be firstborn because each one is a firstborn to a different Father. The mother didn't tell her husband that she have two sons from two different men. So imagine now he has 10 kids in the house. There was no birth control yet. So in Egypt, obviously, they had at least 10 kids in a family, average family. And now in every house, one kid is falling and died. And Ahmed had now three dying. What happened? He said to his wife, "What, I have three firstborns?" Oh, accidentally he already discovered all the things that his wife was doing behind his back. This is a part of this punishment that Hashem gave them. So now everyone is dead, or every house screaming, crying. And what happened? Finally, Paro said, just go, go, just go. So, now there is a little question that we have to ask here. Hashem is taking them, but He doesn't want to take them directly to Israel. Walking from Egypt to Israel, if you walk fast, 3 days it takes. That's it. Not 40 years. 3 days. If you walk very slow and you sleep a little bit, you take a nap, you cook some food, You know, you enjoy the trip, maximum 11 days. How did it take 40 years? We're going to understand soon. Why Hashem doesn't want to take them directly? Because they have to go through Philistines. Philistines sits in the area of Gaza. If you know, it's between Egypt and Israel. Gaza, Rafiah, all this area today where the— when the Palestinians live. Palestinians has nothing to do with Philistines. They just stole their name. The first one who called Israel Palestina were the Romans 2,000 years ago. They called Israel Palestina because of Philistines, which is a nation who no longer exists. Hashem wiped them out. They are gone. Like many other nations in the Torah, they no longer exist. These Arabs who came to Israel, they adopted that name and they call themselves Palestinians even though they don't know how to say P. So they say Palestinian because in their alphabet the Arabs don't have P. So they made themselves a name that they cannot even pronounce. Imagine the Jewish people, right? How do you say Jewish? Yehudi. Imagine you didn't have Yehud in alphabet. You cannot say Yeh. Like the Spanish. They don't know how to say yes, so they say je, right? Je. If they want to say Yosef, they say Joseph, Josie. They can't say yo. So how can your name be something you cannot pronounce? No, obviously it shows the scam. So now Hashem doesn't want the Jews to go through Palestine. Why? What's the problem? Moshe would come and say, "Hashem just saved us. You saw what he did to Egypt. Don't mess with us. We want to go to the Holy Land. We have no interest in your land. Make us a path, put all your soldiers on the side and let us walk. And we go straight to Israel. Once we cross your area, we'll take a day or two and you don't ever hear from us ever again." What's the problem? You want to fight? Hashem will wipe them out. By the way, bonus, finish with Egypt, we'll finish with them as well. What's the problem? The problem are, there are 3 reasons why Hashem cannot do it. First, their time did not come to be wiped out yet. Remember how many times I explained that every person comes to the world with a tank You have your tank. Every time you commit a sin, it goes into the tank. Once the level of the sins gets to 100%, you must die. That second, you must die. How do you lower the level of the sins? Repent, give charity a lot. Yom Kippur, every day when we daven after the Amidah, the Tefillat Shemoneh Esrei, we make confessions. We regret, plus we receive suffering daily, a lot of suffering in life, and we accept the suffering with understanding and happiness that it's not worse, and we appreciate that Hashem only gave us that. And that helps to erase many of those sins. However, Rabotai, we have to understand, we have to understand that that once the tank reach 100%, there's no return. But you can always bring it down. For instance, if the tank is at 99%, Hashem sends you a very poor person to cry for his situation. You're a rich man, just give him $10,000 check. Here, marry your daughter. This is for everything you need. Don't worry about it. Stop eating your heart. That could lower the level of the sins from 99 to 90%. That's what the term tzedakah tatzil mimavet—charity saves from death. Why? Because without that charity, tomorrow you'll be dead. So Hashem gave you an opportunity. Support this yeshiva. Give. Support kiruv. Write a nice check. Once you do it, it brings the level down. Tzedakah tatzil mimavet. That's what the Gemara says. But it's not only tzedakah, it's teshuvah, it's also prayers. Tzedakah, teshuvah, and tefillah. Ma'avirim et ro'ak zera. That's the words of the Gemara. 3 things can cancel the bad decrees. Prayers with a broken heart, with tears, does wonders. Also charity, as we say. And repentance, meaning what? I regret, I'm ashamed, I accept never to repeat that sin again, I confess when I pray. Yom Kippur passed, I receive some suffering, that's called teshuvah. Prayers, you know what prayers, you speak to Hashem from a broken heart and ask for forgiveness. And charity to good causes, those are the 3 magic wonders. To keep you alive and to save you from horrible disasters. The Gemara says when Mashiach comes, only two kinds of people will be saved: people that have a lot of Torah in them and people that are very kind and they always commit acts of kindness, chesed, milut chasadim, helping poor, helping to bury the dead, driving people around. You know, giving a lot of charity, all kinds of things like this. People like that will benefit very much for their act of chesed. Since most of the people in the world are ignorant, they're not Bnei Torah, they need two— there are two guns. The gun of Torah they don't have, so then the only gun they have is the gun of kindness, the chesed, that they can use for their protection. So, Rabotai, Hashem does not want the Jews to go through the Palestinians because He knows the Palestinians will resist. They're not gonna want them to pass through their land because they're afraid for their life that they take over their land. And it's gonna have to be a war. And Hashem— at first, the Jews will get panic and they would want to go back to Egypt because you see what kind of people they are. Stiff neck and complainers, which Hashem hates the most. Complainers, nonstop complain. I'm making, I'm performing such miracles for you and you complain? Obviously they did. 40 years they complain nonstop. Even now, when the water does not open up, they begin to cry to Moshe, we better be better off to be in Egypt than to take us to the desert to die. So one reason, the time of the Palestinians did not come to die. Not yet. Second, it's going to create a lot of demonstrations against Moshe. Big balagan, big mess. Hashem is not interested in it. And the third reason, how will I punish the Egyptians that chased the Jews trying to bring them back to Egypt? 'After everything I've done for them, it's not enough. There are 600 chariots following the Jewish nation trying to force them to go back to Egypt. If the Jews will go on the dry land, I will have to kill the Egyptians by some kind of lightning or maybe, you know, any other form of death.' But everybody knows that when Hashem does something, it has to be measure for measure. Mida keneged mida. How do I kill the Egyptians? The same way they kill the Jews. How did they kill the Jews? In the water. They threw the babies into the water. So I have to kill them by the water. The water is in the Red Sea. It's not going straight to Israel. Between Israel and Egypt, there's no border. Of water. There's no— it's only land. You want to go to the water, you have to go all the way towards Saudi Arabia, towards that area, and it's a big circle. So what happened? There are 3 reasons why Hashem doesn't want to take them straight into the Holy Land. So now One, they get to the water and now the problem begins. The water does not open up. The Egyptians are coming. They see them from 2 or 3 miles away. There's some also bad animals are coming. Massive panic. They begin to scream, to cry. Even Moshe, the greatest leader in the history of the world, started to panic, started to panic. He doesn't know what to do. Why the water does not open up? So Rabotai, "Vayitzhakubne Yisrael el Hashem," the nation of Israel screaming to Hashem. and right away complain. What's the complaint? "Tell us, Moshe, we didn't have enough graves in Egypt that you brought us here to die here in the desert? What did you do to us that you took us out of Egypt? We told you in Egypt, leave us alone. We would like to stay slaves in Egypt." than to die in a desert. At least we had what to eat. You made our situation worse. And Moshe said, don't be afraid, just be patient and you see the salvation of Hashem. What you're going— what you— when you're not going to see the Egyptians ever again. These faces of these evil Nazi Egyptians who torture you for so many years, this is the last time you're going to see them. Hashem is going to fight for you and you just stand and see the magic. So Moshe is giving a beautiful speech, but he himself is very paranoid. He doesn't know what's going to be now. Why the waters are not opening up? And Hashem said to Moshe, "Ma tzakelei?" Why are you screaming to me? "Daber al Bnei Yisrael ve'Yisroel." Talk to the nation of Israel that they should move forward. And you hit the water with your stick and the water will open up. Now, Rabotai, the Oral Torah is teaching us a very important point here. Moshe is screaming to Hashem, "No." What happened to your plan? Supposed to open the water. The water are not opening up. Soon the Egyptians are going to get here. And Hashem said to Moshe, why are you screaming to me? So Moshe should have said, who should I scream to? To my grandmother? What do you mean, why am I screaming to you? When a Jew has a problem, who should he scream to? To Hashem. Everyone, Hashem is close to those who call Him, call upon His name. Those who call Him for real, not those who come to shul and pray and their mind is somewhere else. They don't even pay attention to the words. Those who really call Hashem in a time of trouble. So Moshe now is screaming to Hashem for real. And what does Hashem answer? Why are you screaming? Talk to them that they should move forward. The secret of the Yerabotai is the Satan came. Every nation has a minister. The minister of the Egyptian, his name in Shamayim, this angel, his name is Uzza. Milashon haz, like haz panim, arrogant. Uzza. He comes to Hashem and he said, I don't understand. 'You, the God of Justice, can you give me one difference between Israel and the Egyptians? I'm in charge of Egypt. The Egyptians are idol worshippers, I admit. It's not a secret. But the Jews are nothing better. They have no faith in you. Look how they cry like babies. Look after everything they saw.' 'You destroyed Egypt. You did so many miracles for them. Look how they cry. No matter what you're going to do for them, they will never have faith in you. Is it fair to perform a miracle for them? I object. I'm sorry. I object. It's lack of justice.' Now Hashem is stuck here because He is the God of justice. And this angel of Egypt has a point. What is going to happen? He said to Moshe, why are you now screaming? That's not going to help. It makes the situation worse right now. Now it's not the time to scream. Now it's the time to show that you have faith in me. That you trust what I promise you. Walk into the water. Once you walk into the water, I can come back to the minister of the Egyptians, this angel. And tell him, "I'm sorry." You see, there is a difference between the Jews and the Egyptians. The Jews trusted me. They walked into the water until the water came all the way up to their nose. And who was the first one to do it? Nachshon ben Aminadav. Nachshon ben Aminadav, tzaddik. Once the water got to his nose, the water opened up. That's the story. That's the Midrash. We know now what happened, why Hashem said to Moshe, "Ma Titzakeh Lai." Now, remember, Pharaoh sent spies with them. The deal was, give us some jewelry, give us some clothes, we're going to serve Hashem out of Egypt because Egypt is filthy. There's a lot of idol worshiping here. We need a place that there's no idol worshiping. To serve our God. So that's a good excuse. We will be back in 3 days. So he sent spies with them. He obviously suspected that they trick him. The spies saw after 3 days that the Jewish nation has no intention to return back to Egypt. When they went right back, told Pharaoh, Pharaoh sent the 600 chariots to follow them. And they caught them by the 7th day. That's why we have Shvi'ish El Pesach, the 7th day of Passover. It's a special holiday. Also Yom Tov. Why? Because that was another miracle. Besides all the miracles, besides the opening of the Red Sea and the 10 plagues and everything that happened, now there's another miracle that the Egyptians drowned and the Jews went through. And Hashem made their bodies and their horses come out to the shore, right in front of the Jewish nation. And they had tons of gold and diamonds and rubies and all kinds of necklaces. Remember, Egypt got the money of all the people in the world in the time of Yosef. Everybody wanted food, they gave everything they have— gold, jewelry, diamonds, rubies. It was like, like sand in Egypt. They had so much, they put it on the horses. Jewels, all kinds of chains. Even there are some drawings in tunnels that they found, the archaeologists, horses with all kinds of jewelry on them. They had nothing to do with that. So the Jewish nation became wealthy from two different kinds of income. First is what they borrow from the Egyptian, and second, when the Egyptian drowned in the Red Sea, everything came out to the shore. It's called bizatayam. The first wealth did not have blessing in it. The second had great blessing in it. Why? It came from the same source. The first one came from the Egyptians and the second one came from the Egyptians. The first treasure that they got, it was by cheating them, telling them we will return it, we only borrowing. Even though they deserve to get a lot more from the Egyptian for all the works of slavery for free, because they say the lie, that money did not have blessing. Same thing in our life. When you get money with lies, you're a salesman, you're an owner of a business, you lie to the customers, it looks like it works. It looks. You accumulate some wealth and then you make one bad investment and Bitcoin crashed that week. And it's all gone. And you don't see the connection. Either you have blessing or you don't. What is it determined on? Based on what? Based on how kosher is the income. So when they got all the clothes and jewelry from the Egyptians, Hashem made the Egyptians like them all of a sudden, they give them knowing they're going to give it back when they come back, but they never came back. All these wealth went to the golden calf. All the gold, silver, everything. Everything went to make the golden calf. Horrible crime against Hashem. There was no blessing in this jewelry. What they got when the Egyptian died, all of that wealth which was even greater than what they took from the Egyptians, the Gemara say, all of that went to the Mishkan, to the house of God. The temporary Beit Hamikdash, temporary temple. So all the jewelry that they got laid there had a great blessing in it. Why? When someone died in the middle of nowhere and you found jewelry there, it's yours. It's Hefker. That's it, became Hefker. Hefker means you can take it. It's like finding something on the street. And what happened with that? They had great blessing because they built with that the Mishkan. Tons of gold, everything. However, Abotai, Moshe told them, you're not going to see the face of these Egyptians ever again. But they saw them a few days later. After they came out of Egypt, Moshe said, don't worry about them. This is the last time you see them. But a week later, they just saw them again. How can it be? I'll tell you a story. There were two partners, one Reuven and Shimon. They were together in business. They had a big fight. They broke the partnership and Reuven made a vow. He swore that he will never see, he will never come near Shimon ever again. He will not see his face and will not be in the same room with him. Few weeks later, Shimon got a heart attack and he died. Now Reuven is feeling bad. 'Cause he made a vow that he will never be in the same room with him and he will never look at him ever again. But he wants to say goodbye to him and apologize for the fight before they bury him. So everyone comes to the funeral and Reuven doesn't know what to do now. He made a vow. A vow obligates you from the Torah. So he went to the rabbi. The rabbi told him, "You're allowed to go." "But I made a vow I'll never be together with him in the same place." The Rabbi says, but that's not him. The human being is not the body. That's just the envelope. If a person says, I will not hold that check in my hand, I'm making a vow. Nobody cares about the envelope that the check is in. Everybody understands he's speaking about the check. Who cares about the envelope? The check is out of the envelope. You can hold the envelope. The vow is not on the envelope. The vow is on a check. Same thing over here. When you say, "I won't speak to you," "I hate you," "I love you," "I don't want to see you," this is all the soul. Once the soul comes out, there's a piece of meat. From the Torah, we have a proof that someone that died, if you made a vow not to interact with an individual, once he died, this vow is no longer in effect. Why? Because once he died, the soul left the body, that's it, it's a piece of meat. With a piece of meat you are allowed. So if that's the case, how can you ask forgiveness from a piece of meat? There is a small, small sparkle that stays in that body. Besides the fact that a part of the soul remains in the body, that's true. Not the main one, but a part of it remains. The soul that comes out is above the body. The soul came out of the body and the soul, when you come, when a person comes to a funeral, the soul of the person that died is above and sees the entire funeral. Who cries, who showed up, who didn't show up, who cares, who doesn't care, everything. Only when they finish to cover the body with sand, that's when he doesn't have any more connection to the world as he was before. But even then, there is some kind of connection for the entire year until the worms finish to eat the body in the grave. Once the entire meat of the body is dissolved completely. There are few insects or worms or snakes or rats that eat the bodies. You know, I remember one time there was a case— I told that story a few times before in the past— two guys from the Chevrat Kadisha came to Monsey for Shabbat. They were staying by Rabbi Aderet when he still lived in Monsey. Story probably more than 15 years ago. And they are actually dealing with burying people. So he asked them, what's the most bizarre story that you ever had? They're talking about this. So they told him there was one Reform— I don't want to say Reform Jew because it's a lie, because all Reforms are considered goyim, all of them, even though in the end some of them have biologically may be Jewish, maybe. But because the vast majority of them are not Jewish by birth because they already intermarried with the goyim for 220 years straight for 11 generations, therefore there is a much higher chance that they are not Jewish than that they are Jewish. So if every 100 Reform, 1 or 2 or 3 of them will be Jewish, we have to assume all of them are not Jewish. And if they want to marry a real kosher Jew, we will have to convert them because of the doubt. So we have to look at them as non-Jews. That's why the word Reform Jew, it's a deceiving term which a lot of ignorance use. So there was a Reform person in Germany that a family wants to bury him in Israel, and the Chevrat Kadisha in Berlin, I believe, They put his body in a vacuum box. Vacuum, you know, that meaning nothing can go in. No animals can penetrate. It's completely sealed. When the body arrived, they want to do Tahara. They want to spill water on the body. They open the vacuum, blah, blah, and they see a snake inside. Snake, thick snake. Who already ate half of the face of that person. That's what the two guys from the Chevrat Kadisha are telling the rabbi. Immediately they call Germany to the people of Chevrat Kadisha. "Are you out of your mind? Sending us a dead body with a snake inside the box? How can— we never saw a case like this." They say to him, "Are you out of your mind?" What do you think, we were born yesterday? What kind of snake you're talking about? When we sent the box, it was totally sealed. No snake, no nothing. You don't trust us? What are we gonna send there? Our snake got into the box? We are in a building, we didn't pack the body in the middle of the field. Where do you have snakes inside buildings? Mystery. Similar story happened in the time of the Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak. They had a funeral. And it was in a— you know, when they come to the back today, they have tractors. The tractors dig the graves. But 50 years ago, they were digging the graves with shovels. It's a big work. So they always had graves dug in advance. Obviously, they can't wait for the time when someone died to begin to dig. So the person comes and says, "Okay, bury him here." In Israel, there's a law. If you're a citizen of a city, the city cemetery is giving you a grave for free. If you want to be buried in Jerusalem, you're going to pay a lot of money. But if you, let's say, you live in Rehovot, Rehovot gives you a place. You live in Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv cemetery will give you a place. Hulon, Rishon, all these places. So, they take the body to the grave and they see a huge snake is waiting, looking up inside the grave. Family said, "We cannot bring him down when the snake is waiting. What are we gonna do? Let's go and ask the Chazon Ish." They ran to the Chazon Ish, so what should we do? They gave us this grave. So ask them to give you a different grave. I went back, where are you? Muhammad, Muhammad works in the cemetery, give us a different grave. There's a snake there, what do you want? Okay, give us a different grave. Okay, they rearranged the funeral, they gave them a different snake, a different, different grave and they came to put him in, they saw another snake came out. What are we gonna do? They went back to the Chazon Ish. Chazon Ish lived walking distance from the Nebrak cemetery. Chazon Ish said, "That's the will of Hashem, put him in." "Are you sure, Rabbi?" "Yes, that's what Hashem wants him to have." Before the body even reached the ground, the snake attacked him in such a way That's unfortunately what's going to be the end of many people. Those who rebel against the Torah and then Hashem. You may ask, "Who cares? When I die, even if you take a cigarette and burn on my skin, I won't feel it." So I won't feel the snake eating my body. Same thing, I won't feel the worms. The answer is wrong. The Zohar, the Kabbalah, saying that every bite that the worms take from the body, the soul suffers. The fatter you are, the longer you suffer. It takes longer to finish the body. No joke. Make sure when you leave the world not to be overweight. Yes, that's what the Zohar says. The faster they finish to eat what's theirs, the worms, the less you suffer. The longer it takes, the more you suffer. Rima intolerah— it's very hard for the soul. The soul actually feels the pain. If I'll burn the body, no. If you beat up the dead person, it doesn't feel the pain. But the worms, Hashem made it in such a way that the soul, the Neshamah, suffered the entire year. It's a part of the Kapparat Avonot. While we're saying Kaddish for that person for one year, together with the suffering, and there is another punishment which is called Chibut HaKever. I don't even want to start telling you what's happening there. Not to, you know. Not to make you too upset. But if you're brave enough, find out what Chibut HaKever is. Chibut comes from the word Chavata. Kever means grave. Chavata means to hit. If you're brave enough, you read what Chibut HaKever is. But if you died on Friday afternoon, before Shabbat, the good news is you won't have Ributa Kever. Right? So, we'll see. So, we're going back to our topic here. So, Rabotai, from here we learn from the Torah that if someone died, is not considered that person that you made a vow not to see his face ever again. One time there was a funeral, there was a big Ashkenazi rabbi, ben Odabiu Da. Odabiu Da was a tall man, big Chacham. Back then, the Ashkenazi rabbis, over 100 years ago, they used to be very strict, like Rav Yitzchak, ben Odabiu Da, they were very, very strict. Today the approach is very soft, you know, everything very soft. There's no aggression. We're afraid to turn them off. That's what you get everywhere you go. But it wasn't always like that. So then Rabbi Yehuda found out that one wicked person in town died and they're making a funeral, his children now. and people, all the family came. And he showed up with a razor and shaving cream to the funeral. So, "Let me, let me, let me, let me say goodbye to your father," he said to the son. As they took the COVID off, he put some shaving cream on his face and shaved his face with a razor. How this wicked person had a beard? He was with cancer in hospital for few months and while he was in hospital his beard grew up. He had a beard. He shaved his face with a razor and everyone in the funeral was shocked. Ma, how does the rabbi do such a thing? The son asked him, Rabbi, you came to make fun of my dead father? The rabbi said, to make fun, "I didn't want him to be buried like this, sloppy and ugly. I wanted him to have a nice clean shave, to look good. Who cares now how he's buried?" The rabbi told him, "I don't get it. What is this hypocrisy? 20 years I begged your father to stop shaving with a razor. Did you ever care?" that he shave every day with a razor, 5 sins from the Torah every day. While he was breaking the laws of the Torah every day shaving with a razor, it didn't seem to bother you even once. Now when he finally got shaved, nice clean shave without committing a sin, look how much it bothers you. Everything by you is the opposite. When he was shaving every day, you should have screamed and cried. Now when he's dead and he gets a clean shave, that's not a sin for him. It's allowed. A dead person is not committing sins. What was the point of the rabbi to shake in all the wicked people in that funeral that shave with a razor? 5 Averot from the Torah, 5 sins, 5 lavim dorayta. One for here, one for here, one for here, one for here, and one for here. 5 points in the beard that once the razor touched the roots of the hair, it's like eating pork. Similar sins. It's interesting, many of these Israelis, if you tell them, "Come, I take you to a good restaurant in Tel Aviv." Pork with shrimp calamari sauce. Shame on you! I'm a Moroccan Jew, what do you think I am? I'm gonna eat pork with calamari? Ugh! Why? Why you don't eat it? It's asur! It's forbidden! It's forbidden! Ah, but every day when we share with the Reis, it's 5 steaks like this. 5. I'm offering you one once in a while, you don't want. But 5 every day, it's no problem. Why? Ignorance. They don't understand. Torah V'HaBatai, let's move forward. So now comes the moment that the Egyptians are all drowned. And Moshe begins to sing. "Az yashir Moshe degmaraseh al tagid." Don't say "az yashir," say "yud shir." "Yud," it's 10. "Shir," it's songs. Altogether, there are 10 songs in the Tanakh. What they're going to call the Bible, not including the New Testament nonsense. The 24 books of Judaism, which starts from Genesis all the way to Songs of Songs, Shir Hashirim. Everything that came after that, it's like they say in Chinese, "Bobo mices." So, 10 songs altogether. David, Amalek, Dvorah sang. 10 songs. But one of them is unique. When we say in Tehillim, every morning when we pray, we read that part in the Tefillah. Shiru la Hashem, Shir Chadash. All the songs were used in the female language. Shirah Chadasha, Shirah, Shirah, Shirah, Shirah, Shirah. Even some girls, their name is Shira. Shira means singing. In Hebrew, you have two languages, male and female, similar to Spanish. Spanish is similar to Hebrew, obviously. In English, there's no difference male and female. Anyway, in America, there's no— you're not allowed to talk about You know, genders. Parent 1, parent 2. In their language already, they prepared the ground that one day there's not going to be a difference between men and female. Everybody will be it. There's no he and she. It's it. That's it. But Baruch Hashem, in Hebrew you have male and female. Also, to any word. Like table, is it male or female? Shulchan. Shulchan is male. Shulchan yafeh. You don't say shulchan yafa, right? Matslema, camera. Matslema, it's male or female? Female. Matslema yafa. Kisseh. Kisseh, it's male or female? What do you say? Kisseh yafeh or kisseh yafa? Yafé, so it's male. Bakbuk, bakbuk, bottle. What's bakbuk, male or female? Male. Why bakbuk? Yafé. Torah, Torah, male or female? Female. Torah, Yafá. I don't say Torah, Yafé. Torah, Yafá. So we know now Ish Yafeh, Isha Yafa, right? Isha, it's female. So all the songs in the Tanakh are in female language except the last one. All 9 songs already happened in history. Time of David HaMelech, time of D'Vorah the prophet, time of Moshe Rabbeinu, Miriam sister. Miriam also sang a song. All songs already took place except one, which will happen when the Messiah will come. That one is in male language. Shiru L'Hashem Shir Chadash. Instead of Shirachadasha, Shir Chadash. Why? Because it's different than the other 9. The other 9 praised Hashem, but there was not the final salvation. It wasn't 100% perfect yet. But after the Mashiach would come, there will be the final salvation. It will be so perfect, there will be nothing to improve after that. No more wars, no more bloodshed. No more antisemitism, no more racism, no more wicked people in the world, no more gays, no more thieves, no more mechalelei Shabbat, no more apikorsim hates Torah. None of it. No arrogant proud people around, no angry wolves. Only righteous Jews and righteous Gentiles will remain. Will be a perfect world. There will be no more evil inclination, no sickness, no death. Perfect world like Adam before he committed the sin. That's how people going to be. Now it's going to be a unique song, not like the other 9. That's the secret of the Asher Moshe. After Moshe finished the song, which we say every morning when we pray tefillah tshachrit, his sister Miriam the prophet, vatikach Miriam anevi'ah, the prophet, achot Aharon, the sister of Aaron, et atof be'ada, she took the drum with her in her hand with all the women together. There was no mixed parties back then. Rabbi, we want to dance, family, cousins. Not allowed, my friend. Rabbi, we all family, we Syrians, we Persians, we Bukhariot, we like to dance. What is this boring, men here and women there? We want to be together. I can't dance with my sister. Oh, that's exactly what you're looking for, to dance with your sister. Who you telling stories? So Miriam took the drum, like they say in Farsi, tombak, and she start tatatata and all the women dance and Baruch Hashem, they happy. But women are separate. Moshe is with the men and Miriam is with the women. Next time when your parents tell you, if I pay for the wedding, it's gonna be my way or the highway. So tell them I'll get married in the highway, but I won't get married your way. I will marry Hashem's way. Hashem's way. In a kosher way. I told once a couple that had a massive pressure from their rich parents to make a mixed party, mixed dancing. So I say to them, you have two options in front of you. The choice is all yours. You're gonna have 300, 400, 500 people dancing together with goyish music, touching each other, eating with no blessing. Your wedding will become Sodom and Gomorrah. Hashem will not enter the hall that day. That's for sure, guaranteed. He It's written in the Torah, "Vayamachanecha kadosh." Your territory has to be holy. "Vera'abe chayer v'adavar v'shavna charecha." If I see lack of modesty, places that are supposed to be covered are not covered, men and women mingle together, mincing, dancing, this, not kosher music, all these things that we call "erva," I cannot enter that place. Me and lack of holiness cannot be together. So you have one option. You're gonna have 400 or 500 people, many of them unfortunately are not righteous, and they're gonna tell you, wow, great DJ, great band, great food, great gondi, great ashpolog, whatever it is. Aval Hashem wasn't there. No blessing in your marriage. You're going to feel it later on for the rest of your life. Or you have a kosher party, your parents will make faces in the picture. They'll go, you know, they look like they're in a Lortz Lagidefo, maybe in a yom tzait or something. What happened, Moshe? You look upset. My son is too religious. He made his wedding, we did not enjoy. I could not dance with the women. Oh yeah, that's what bothers you? That your son is a tzaddik? So maybe 200 people would come instead of 400. But Hashem will be there. So who do you want? You want 400 people with no Irat Shamayim, but Hashem is not going to be there? Or you want 200 people who has Irat Shamayim, and some of them don't, but they at least respect and Hashem is gonna be there. After such a beautiful speech, they know they have no choice. "But my father will not pay for the wedding." "Tell him no problem, we'll marry in the shul." I call the rabbi, "Rabbi, you have a basement in the shul? We would like to make a meal." And that's it. And trust me, if you tell any kosher rabbi that you have a problem but your parents do not want to pay for the wedding because it's it's kosher and you want to bring like 30, 40 good friends, those who would like to come and actually participate in the kosher wedding, in less than a day everything will be done for you. They raise money, people will donate food, bread, meat. I've been in a few weddings like this right here in Queens in some places. Why? Either they didn't have family to, you know, these people Or the parents did not want to pay for a wedding if it's kosher. They didn't want. Baruch Hashem, today it's not such a big problem as it used to be because there's a lot of religious people and the weddings are separate and the people, you know, accept it, have no choice. But be very careful not to be influenced by the wicked pressure of family members or friends. Because the most important thing is not if they show up, if Hashem will show up. If Hashem will show up to your chuppah, you're in good hands. If Hashem will not be able to enter your wedding, believe me, you're going to pay for it every day of your life from now until you die, and in the next world as well. It's not chas v'shalom efret, it's reality. Sometimes people say, "Are you threatening me?" You can call it like that. It's not a threat, it's just describing what Hashem said. You want to hear the truth? Fine. You don't want to hear? Close your ears. Leave the room. Who cares? It's your life. Our obligation is those who teach Torah is to teach the truth. Those who want to accept it, wonderful. Those who don't, they're going to have to explain to Hashem why they decided to rebel against His Torah. So, Rabotai, I want to ask you a question. Miriam had her own song, but one verse she took from her brother's Moshe song. What is the verse? Sus verochbor amavayam. Everything else she did It's a different song, but one pasuk, one verse she took from Moshe's song. Moshe also says, "Suz veruchbor amavayam"— Hashem drowned the horse and the soldier that was on top of the horse, the rider. Why Miriam copied this verse? Why she didn't take any other verse? "Shirat hayam" is beautiful. Ah, it's very long. It's a whole page. There's maybe, I don't know, more than 60 verses there. She could have taken one. Why she took only this one? That's a big secret here. The women say to Miriam, the men are happy. They're about to get the Torah and they're going to learn Torah. We, the women, we're not going to sit in yeshiva and learn Torah and all the secrets of the Gemara and Oral Torah and Kabbalah. What do we have to dance about? We going to be regular housewives just like the goyot. What's the difference between Fatma in Saudi Arabia or Fatima in Jordan or Saida in Morocco or in Mahin in Iran? What's the difference? They're all change diapers, cook rice, cook chicken and meat, take care of the house, clean, whatever. And we will also have that. Just because our husband is going to learn Torah, how is it going to benefit us? Good question, they ask. Miriam answered to them, sos verochbor amavayam. What does it mean? The horse, why the horse has to drown? There's an Egyptian soldier, he climb on a horse and begin to ride the horse and he takes the horse to whenever he wants. He wants to go into the water, the horse goes into the water. The horse does not say. Why the horse has to suffer? The answer is because without the horse nothing could have happened. They couldn't chase the Jews, they couldn't kill them, they couldn't do anything. So the horse is the foundation, is the base of the soldier that sits on top of it. Once the Egyptian drowned, the foundation of it drowns with him. Miriam said to them, "No man can learn Torah unless he has a kosher wife to support him." If there's gonna be a good wife in the house cooking, cleaning, raising children, taking care of errands, then he has a future. If he doesn't have, so it's very hard. So we take 100% of the reward of the men. They would learn and we get all the credits. Not just they get it, we get it. "The same way Hashem held the horse, because the horse is the foundation and without the foundation there's no person. Since we are the foundation of the house, without us there is no husband and there is no Torah. That's why we have to make a party." And when the women heard that, they went dancing and singing. It was beautiful. Just when the party finished, the complaints returned. Another complaint. 3 days they walk in the desert, mid-Bar Shur. There's no water. No water. Vayavo marata. They came to a place. Mar means bitter. Vela'akhlu li'shtot mayim imara. The water are bitter. It's bitter. They can't drink it. They complain again, what are we going to drink? And he screamed to Hashem, and Hashem said, see this tree over there? Take the tree, throw it into the water, and the water will become sweet and clean. What's the connection? Zero. No connection. Since when you throw a tree into the water and the water becomes sweet? In Israel, they found a way to take the salty water of the ocean and get rid of the salt. So now they sending water into the Kineret. We don't depend on rain anymore. There will be rain, there won't be rain, the Kineret will not dry out, Baruch Hashem. But that's a sophisticated machine. It's a whole process. Israel already sell this to many countries. India, I think, was the first one. Prime Minister of India came. Benjamin Netanyahu, when he was Prime Minister before, a few years ago, took the President of— the Prime Minister of India, took him to the water with a special car. The car has a box in the back. It sucks water, filters the water, and he lets him drink. The Indian Prime Minister said, "Baruch Atah Hashem Elokeinu Melech HaOlam, Shakol Yavit Varo." I just don't know which Hashem he referred to. To Hashem or to his cow. One way or the other. But the idea is that that's another Jewish invention. Today, an Israeli scientist died. He made our life very, very easy. In a way, indirectly, thanks to him, I made thousands of baalei teshuvah. He invented the MP3. MP3, the format of MP3. Before MP3, If I wanted to get a lecture on a CD, it was only one lecture, not even an hour on a CD. 700 megabytes, it was not enough for one of my lectures even. The lecture would have to cut in the middle. After they invented MP3, we were able to put 30 hours of lectures on one CD. MP3 format. Then later on we had those MP3 devices. You can put thousands of hours on it. Remember those MP3 with the USB you connected to the— Also he invented the ZIP. When you want to send a large file, you zip the file. These two things changed basically the life of millions of people. And I promise you almost nobody knows who he is. I also didn't know who he is until he died today. Sometimes you need to die for people to know who you used to be. Because when you die, they finally say something about you on the news. Oh, so many people didn't even know you exist. Now they know thanks to who they had easy life. So over here, what's the connection throwing a piece of wood into the water The answer is no connection. But Hashem wants to teach us that in life, every miracle that Hashem is going to do to us, we have to do something. Same thing with Elisha and the woman, the Shunamite. You know, he said to her, "Well, you have any utensils?" She said, "Yeah, I have one jar. There's a few drops of oil in it." Few drops of oil. Who cares? Anyway, it's all magic. He's going to fill her house with oil and food. Who needs now? Hashem likes the miracle to look natural. Something physical was done here. When He split the Red Sea, He made very strong winds. What for? The wind doesn't open the sea. Hashem opened the sea. Moshe took the stick and hit the water. Why do we need wind? For the atheist and the apikor seem to have what to say. Ah, it was a storm. The storm made it. The scientists always looking for natural reasons and Hashem sometimes give it to them. So now there is water. Now Hashem is saying something very interesting. If you're going to listen to the instructions of your God, vayashar be'ain aftaseh, and you do what's decent in His eyes, not in your eyes. Many of us do what's decent in our eyes or the government's eyes or the newspaper eyes or the professors in college eyes and all kinds of other losers. The idea is to do what's right in Hashem's eyes. V'ashar be'ainav ta'aseh, ve'azan taleh mitzvotav. You listen carefully to his mitzvot, to his instructions. Ve'shamarta et kol chukav. You will be careful not to violate any restriction. You ready? What's going to be the reward for that? Listen carefully. All the diseases. All the diseases that I gave to the Egyptians, I will not give to you because I am your God, your doctor. Ah, so who is the doctor? Only Hashem. Do we have to have gratitude to the doctors in hospital? Absolutely. They are messengers. Sometimes they are messengers to save life, and God forbid, if the time arrives to leave the world, they will be messengers to kill. They can make mistakes, they can give the wrong medicine. It happens. Do you know how many people in Israel died just because they went to the hospital with a minor problem? They caught some kind of infection in the hospital. All kinds of things that hospital have, a lot of germs. And that's what killed them. If they would stay home, it would take them a week to recover without hospital. More than 5,000 people die every year in Israel because they went to the hospital. In the hospital, one of the germs there got into them and they died. Chai dak, microscopic germs. Not only in Israel, here also. Hospital full of germs. Person should do anything he can not to step into hospital. If there's mitzvah, bikur cholim, No, especially if you're healthy and your immune system works well, it's not so bad. But if you're already old or sick, you saw what happened to people. So, about— I skip a little bit. And now another complaint, another complaint. We wish to die. We should have died in Egypt. We were eating meat and bread. What meat? Bologna and bread. We were full. You took us out to the desert to starve us. Hashem said, I'm going to start giving you manna from heaven. Every day they go and collect. It looks like popcorn. Snow falls, everything becomes nice, you collect and eat and melts in your mouth and there's no bathroom. You don't need to go to the bathroom. It dissolves inside the body. Imagine if someone will invent food that you can eat and be full and whatever you think about, that's what you feel, the flavor. You think about meat? That's what you feel. You think about fish, that's what you feel. And you don't ever have to go to the bathroom. How much you're willing to pay from now on to eat whatever you can imagine for free? For free. Imagine you had a machine. If someone now give out machines. What's special about this machine, Rabbi? You put it in your kitchen, you press a button, It fills up a big cup, you know, like they sell in the popcorn in the stores, this big popcorn, they fill it up. You put it in your mouth and you close your eyes. You imagine whatever you want to imagine. You eat. That's what you feel. And you never ever have to go to the bathroom for the rest of your life. Just the fact that you don't need any more bathroom in your house, you take all the 5 bathrooms in your house and turn them into another living room. Or you can rent the apartment. You won't have to import Italian marble for $100,000 and mirrors and all kinds of bad stuff. Life will be a lot easier. Plus, how many people suffer from stomach issues? Celiac, this, Crohn's disease. You know how many diseases the stomach has? So, you eat, no stomach, no pain, no pressure, no blowing up, no, none of the other problems. Light, you don't get tired, the blood doesn't have to go to the stomach to digest the food when you feel sleepy. Wonderful! And what happened? They complained. Complain. We're tired of this spoiled bread. Lechem haklokel. Klokel means mikulkal, spoiled. Wonderful, Hashem gives us heaven and we complain. Now, Rabotai, we have a little lesson in politics here. When the lefties heard that Moshe announced that on Friday you're gonna have double amount of manna. Because on Shabbat is not gonna be rain of bread falling. Shabbat is a day of rest. Nobody should go and collect. The lefties went crazy. We have to come up with a plan against this fanatic religious rabbi. He's performing miracles. It's not good for atheism. Who's gonna go with us? Who's gonna become a Democrat? How are you gonna— we're gonna lose all our voters. We have to come up with a plan. We rig the election. Ah, no, no, there was no elections yet. So what are we gonna do? We will collect on Friday a lot of manna and we will go on Shabbat morning, 4:00 or 5:00 AM, get ready, we'll wake you, I'll wake you all up and we're gonna spread it all in the field and we'll come back to the camp, pretend that we just woke up and say, let's go and check if on Shabbat manna is falling or no. Let's check. And in the morning they said, what, you really believe, Moshe, that on Shabbat? Don't you understand that it's all nature? Enough, enough with your God, everything God, God, God, enough! We're allergic to this religion already. Come, we will show you that on Shabbat man is falling as usual. The skeptic, they wanted to see. Not everyone is a faith, not everyone is Hasidish. Some people worship Hashem only with rational proofs. So they all came. What happened between the time they put the bread in a field? The birds came, thousands of them, picked them all up and ate that. So the bread ate the man. They didn't complain, I promise you that. When the lefties came, Bernie Sanders, Jack Schumer, they all showed up. George Soros, Yves-Marie Chimo, Lieberman, all of them came. Lapid. So they came and Shomron Shamayim, where is all the bread we brought? We work for nothing. Everybody asks them, no, you see, there's no bread. What are they going to say? We put it here. They can't confess. It was Bikidush Hashem, the birds. The birds helped to do a Bikidush Hashem. But we learned another concept in life. Now, one of the ways Hashem is testing people is with their income. With their income, the income can go up or down according to the plans of Hashem, how he would like to test your faith. Usually every person, almost, almost with no exception to the rule, when their income comes down, immediately the first thing they cut is the charity that they give. Rabbi, don't charge the car this month. Why? Business is rough. Did you cut your trips? Not yet. Did you cut your vacation that is planned? Annual vacation? No. Did you give up one of the 3 cars? Why do you need 3 cars? What, you and your wife and the dog? And you need 3 cars? He didn't. Did you give up the fancy suits that you buy for $2,000 each? Did you give up your stupid $50,000 watch? Of course not. What are you giving up? The only savior that will save you from hell, from screaming for years, from killing yourself from pain. You're giving it up. Why? Because instead of a million, you're gonna make only half a million this year. So what's the first way to make up what I lost? To cut my life insurance! The charity! How stupid we could be. That comes from ignorance and lack of faith. What the Gemara says, either you are a believer and you call yourself religious for real, or stop being a faker. You cannot be one leg here, one leg there. You make up your mind. Are you Chiloni from Tel Aviv walking naked on the beach on Shabbat with a cigarette? Or you're Ben Torah, the son of Hakadosh Baruch Hu? Make up your mind. There's no way to be one leg here, one leg there. What does the Gemara say? When the income comes down, double your charity. Hashem, I'm showing you, you're the one that have all the money in the world. You write on Rosh Hashanah how much I make. You decided to cut me by 50%. What do you think? I'm gonna cut the charity? I'm gonna still support your children. I'm gonna still give to the yeshiva. I will cut everything I can, and the last thing on the list is the charity. I will never touch a penny from the charity. That's a kosher Jew. Everyone who doesn't do it this way is not religious. He's living in a lie, in illusion. Some people, they have hard tests. They barely make a living. They have expenses. It's hard for them to pay. I understand. That's a hard test. I'm not referring so much to this kind of people that barely can pay their everyday expenses. I'm talking about all these rich and famous who already saved many millions on the side and they have more than one real estate. So now instead of saving a million this year, they will save half a million. And what do they do? Immediately lower their charities. There is a perfect example. I give you an example, you understand. There was one person with a whole and he has a carriage attached to the horse and they reached some kind of a swamp. It's very muddy. So the wheels of the carriage got stuck in the mud. He's hitting the horse. The horse is struggling. He cannot take the carriage out of the mud. So the person said, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna take off the 4 wheels to make the carriage lighter. He has lots of boxes, lots of nonsense. He doesn't take it off the wagon. What is his idea? Let me get rid of the 4 4 wheels. Each one of them weigh 20 kilos. It's gonna be 80 kilos less. That will help the carriage to get out of the mud. That's exactly the fool that have financial issues and cut the amount of charity that he gives monthly. That's what the Rachamim comparing to. First throw some boxes, first throw all kinds of things that are not so important. Get rid of— who say you have to go every week to restaurant? Big deal, you eat at home. Don't have to go and spend $400 on a dinner. Cut that. Your son bought this Canada goose for $1,200? The next time we'll get the fake one for $120. It looks exactly the same. Now one person can tell the difference. Cut over there, you fool! Don't cut Torah that brings you billions of mitzvot evrier. Where is your head? Are you here to enjoy the moment or you're here to prepare your life of eternity? I'm talking from a lot of experience. There's not a day, there's not a day that I don't get these stupid messages from people. "Rabbi, I'm sorry, I will have to hold off for my donation." "How much is the donation?" "$50 a month." He's trying to cut on the budget. That's what's going to save him, the $50 that maybe will make 2, 3, 5 ba'alei teshuvah every month that will prepare his Olam Haba instead of eating maybe less outside Cutting on things that he can manage without. There's a lot of luxury in our life we don't even pay attention. We could have easily give up on. Easily. But, of course not. How can I give up on my stomach? How can I give up on the meat that I have to eat every night? How can I give up on the fancy suit and the stupid jewelry? That's what's gonna make me happy. That's what's gonna give me heaven. The new watch. How many Bukharians here regret the moment they bought a fancy watch? You know what it is to get a gun to your head in the middle of the night next to your house? Two monsters come out with a gun to your head and you already see your death. You don't know even if to say Shema Yisrael or whatever. Give me your watch, give me your wallet. Believe me, it's a bad experience. Even if later the police will find the watch and you get it back, believe me, the damage is done already. Even if the insurance pays for it, even if the insurance will pay you more than what you actually paid for the watch, whatever the case is, to be 1 minute or 5 minutes with a gun to your head by monsters who kill for nothing, One accidental move, by mistake, he gets nervous, he shoots you and runs. What for? Why do you attract attention? What for? Why do you need all these women go with fancy diamonds? Don't you see how much crime there is today? The economy is not what it used to be. So what happened? There are people who live by robbing others. Thousands. It's just a matter of time until they hit you. Especially if you go to Manhattan or places like this with lots of people. All you need is one of them to follow you. That's it. And they do their homework. They don't just attack. They follow you. They want to see your house. They want to rob you right before you go into your castle here in Forest Hills. Why should they only settle for a $50,000 watch or $100,000 if they can go inside and make you open open the safe and get a million dollars there. Over there he has another 10 watches over there. What do you think, they were born yesterday, these robbers? Why not living simple? Why you need to attract attention? Why you need such a fancy watch? What does it give you in life besides show off, which Hashem cannot stand? How many times we have to repeat it? There are a few people who heard me did not make the change and got robbed. Now they say, "I wish I would listen to you." It's not me, it's reality. I'm describing to you what's happening here. So, Rabotai, Hashem says, "I'm giving you everyday bread from heaven." What bracha they made on a man? Baruch atah Hashem Elokeinu melcholam ha'amotzi lechem min hashamayim. When they ate and they became full, the Torah says, the same Birkat Hamazon we have? No. Because the Gemara says that the first bracha that we say in Birkat Hamazon, Moshe Rabeinu made. The Torah told us that we have to eat and be full and bless Hashem. So Moshe made us a text. Baruch Atah Hashem, azan et hakol. The second bracha, Baruch Atah Hashem ala aretz v'al hamazon, who made? Yoshua ben Nun, Joshua. Only when they enter Israel. So in the desert they didn't say that blessing because they didn't enter Israel. The second blessing is, "I bless you on the land and on the food that grows in the Holy Land." Not food out of Israel. So the second blessing was added 40 years later when they went into Israel. Or maybe even more than that because it took 14 years to actually settle in Israel. So that should have been at least 54 years later when Joshua made the second blessing of Birkat Hamazon. The third blessing, Baruch Atah Hashem Bonei Ruchalayim, is King David and King Solomon, his son, they made it. So that was 3,000 years ago. That means 300 years after Moshe Rabbeinu. So Birkat Hamazon grew with the years. They kept growing. In the beginning it was one. Then Yehoshua, 54 years later, made it two. Then David and Shlomo made it three. It was already 300 years later. And all the fourth one and all the arachman, arachman, arachman, this was added by Anshei Haknesset Hakdolah. The Chachamim attached To Birchat Hamazon, all the requests that a human being is needing from Hashem. Since it's mitzvah to bless Hashem for the food, it's an obligation from the Torah. When you eat bread and you're full, they attach to that blessing all the requests. Arachman, arachman, arachman. So since they got the man, they made, they say, amotzi lechem min hashamayim. Which bracha they made? Baruch Atah Hashem, Mazal Netakol. It was easy. 20 seconds. How people are rushing in Birkat Hamazon. Rabbi, don't you have a short version of Birkat Hamazon? It's 3 pages, it's too long. Ah, when you sat and ate 3 hours in a restaurant and your stomach is growing 2 inches per hour. That's no problem. I will now in the time say, "Thank you Hashem that I have food. Thank you that I have money. Thank you I can move my mouth. Thank you I have teeth. Thank you that my stomach works. Thank you that my stomach digests so much food." I ate like 5 people. One stomach for 5 people. Do you know what it is? Don't you know how it is? Imagine now You have one engine, needs to make 5 cars drive. It's not easy. In Israel they have small cars, if you go to Jerusalem, if you turn the AC on, the car begins to choke. What happened? Put the AC on, but you will choke to death. What's better, I choke to death or the car chokes? Hard question. Stick shift, manual. Stick shift? Do you know one American who knows how to drive stick shift? I know because when I was a teenager, most cars in Israel were stick shift. The good thing about stick shift is that if your battery died, people can push you and you can start. That's the only advantage. Otherwise, you're gonna need knee replacement by age 30 with the clutch. You know how hard was the clutch? Clutch, gas, clutch, this, that. Imagine in a 405 in LA. To drive 10 miles, you're gonna have to switch 500 times the transmission. I do that, Rabbi, so it's okay. You do it? You are old-fashioned Russian. They used to have stick shift. I, when I went to Montreal, they gave me a car from the time of Antiochus. To use and they asked me, do you know how to drive a stick shift? By the way, like they were already counting that I know. I happen to know, but how many people know? Take teenagers here in America, tell them to drive stick shift. But I think the stick shift today is different than what it was. You don't have a clutch anymore. You have clutch but it's much softer. Softer? Much easier. I asked, you know, you have to break your ankle. To press the clutch. So, Baruch Hashem, everything becomes easier and we become lazier. Imagine today women have huge laundry machine, hair dryer. She throws everything in, presses a button, smells like heaven in the laundry room. And then she says, "Oh, next Shabbat don't invite too many people, I'm tired." Why? 'I had so much laundry to do, towels and sheets and the blankets. I can't take it anymore. If I don't have an extra cleaning lady, I don't want to have guests anymore.' Why? You know how many— 'Okay, laundry, but what exactly you did in the laundry? Press few buttons and spill some liquid in?' Do you know how much— what was the laundry 50 years ago? You're taking a big bucket, with all the laundry inside, walking 2 miles to the lake, wash everything. Now when it's wet, it's 3, 4 times more heavier because it's wet, it's soaked with water. And I have to climb 2 miles on a mountain going all the way back. When you finally make it home, if you're still alive and your legs are in place, Now you have to hang them on special stripes that they have with clips. And what usually happened? Either kids playing, the balls knock it down to the sand and you have to take it again to the lake because now it's full of sand, it's wet, it fell on the sand. That's how it used to be. Sometimes, you know, in Israel the humidity is so high That sometimes if you put a towel in your room, not in the sun, in the sun it's gonna get dry. If you put it inside the room, one week it's still wet. One week it's still wet. I'm talking from experience. I hang it on the thing, I say, "Maybe by tomorrow it's gonna dry." You use the towel one time, you don't want to throw it. The next day you come, it's exactly like it was yesterday. The problem is after 2, 3 days it begins to smell bad. Water, you know, I don't have to tell you, it begins to smell. If you take it out to the sun, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, it's dry already. The sun is in summer, wow. However, the humidity is beyond words. Tov. Just before we finish, Rabotai, so Hashem is testing us in the Parnassa. Here is the pasuk: "Leman anasenu ayelech betorati imlo." I'm testing you, will you follow my Torah or not? How do you test us? With Parnassa. Income, not income. You find a job, you don't find a job. You have extra money, you don't have. So I'm reading to you verses from the Torah. I'm not expressing my own opinion here. And now Hashem said to Moshe to conclude, "Shamat yet lunot Bnei Yisrael." I heard the complaints of the Jewish nation. Tell them you're going to get your meat. In the evening you will eat meat. 'And in the morning you'll eat bread and you should know I'm your God.' And what happened? The Slav birds came. From here we learned that chicken is also meat. Even though if you are an Ashkenazi, you know, the Ashkenazim, when they have a taf without dagesh, they call it 'sa.' Sa, right? So it sounds like sin or samech. So there is a pasuk in the Torah, "Ve'etatzipor lo basar." It's written, "Ve'etatzipor lo batara." But because Ashkenazim say "basar," so it sounds like the tzippor, the bird, is not meat. Ve'etatzipor lo basar. You got the joke or no? If you didn't, watch the repeat. So anyway, we hear from here, we see that if you don't have money for meat, if you want to buy for Yom Tov meat or for Shabbat, chicken is a third of the price, no, than meat. No problem, you have 10 guests, make them delicious chicken. Who eats chicken, Rabbi? There is depression, buy chicken. You don't have to buy the most expensive meat. So, Rabotai, now the Slav, this bird comes, nice, thick, big, Slavin. They eat, they eat man, they have the life. Why do they need to eat meat if when they eat the man If they imagine meat, it tastes like meat. Why do you need real meat, right? The answer is, even though it melts in your mouth, sometimes you want— your desire is to bite something, to feel like you're really eating, not putting something in your mouth and it gives you flavor. You want to really eat. To me, it doesn't make a lot of sense, but it is what it is. We cannot argue with the verses. Now it's preparation for Shabbat. Hashem is upset already with their behaving and He said to them, "Now I'm giving you everyday manna. Do not save for tomorrow." This is another lesson in Jewish ideology. Trust Hashem. You have what to eat today, you will have what to eat tomorrow. Do not save, save, save nonstop. You know these people, they already have millions, but they keep saving and saving and saving and saving. You already 90, why you keep saving? For my grand-grandchildren. He is the new God. He wants to feed the world. No Emunah, no faith. So Hashem is already, you know, upset with this kind of behaving. So he said to them, do not save manna for tomorrow. Why? Every day you're going to get what you need for today. Eat and enjoy. What happened? The lefties, they obviously put on the sides. They don't trust what Hashem say. They woke up in the morning, they look at the jar, it became all worms. The atheist, the Apikorosim in the past, they used to say, "Oh, there is a mistake in the Torah. We finally found a mistake in the Torah." Wow, what a celebration. What's the mistake? The Torah says that the man in the jars that they kept for tomorrow had worms and then it smelled. "but in reality is the other way around, first it smells then comes the worms." You see, the order in the Torah is incorrect. It's such a convincing question, wow, we're about to lose Chasvei Shalom, the whole Torah, thanks to these skeptics. So today, once we have the microscope, you see that the worms are here 2 days before it begins to smell. And they're growing and growing and growing. At one point you begin to see it without the microscope. In the beginning, the worms are microscopic. You cannot see them with regular eye. They are the one who caused the smell. But since you couldn't see them, it looks like the smell comes before the worms. The Torah says, Vayarum tolayim, Tola'im came, the worms came, and then it smelled. Who always right? The Creator of the world is right. If you want to teach Him what's right. Why people ask questions about Him? They have evil inclination. The Satan always whisper in your ear. It doesn't make sense. Do you really believe it? Do you really believe that Hashem made the earth quit? It's pressure in Earth. There is a lot of lava and gases and explosions and it creates earthquakes. That's the law of nature. And who designed the nature, Mr. Genius? Who designed the laws of nature? Who made gas? Who made fire? Who made water? Who made mountains? Who made copper and gold and everything in nature and all oil. Everybody believes what he wants to believe. So Rabotai, 40 years they had the man in the desert. 40 years. Hashem took care of them. That's the answer to all these parents who force their children to go to horrible, filthy colleges. Horrible, and then their soul is being destroyed over there. And there's not one day— it's not an exaggeration. I wish it was an exaggeration, but there's not. It's not an exaggeration. There's not one day that I don't get at least one Jew that his soul was destroyed in university on my phone. Every day, at least one, sometimes three 3, 4— today also, 2 sisters, they're all about to marry goyim. 2 goyim. They grew up religious from birth, from an ultra-Orthodox family. What happened? They went to university. Here is the result. On Shabbat, I had a lot of guys that came. And there was one kid, Syrian kid. Syrian from Brooklyn. When I went to Israel and spoke in one of those Syrian yeshivas in Jerusalem, he was about to go to a horrible university. The goyim consider it a great university, you know. Well, what the goyim consider a great university, Hashem considers as Sodom and Gomorrah. And I saw a boy that is sweeter than honey. You know sweeter than honey? He gave dvar Torah with such passion, such irat shamayim. He learned from the morning until 1, 2. Then he walks to an office and work for about 4, 5 hours, make sales and make very decent income for first year. Very good, much more than what he would make first year out of university. And then go back to the yeshiva to learn few more hours. So most of the day learns Torah. The problem is his family, very modern family. One of the parents keep pushing, university, university. Who is going to take care of you? How are you going to make a living? How did Bnei Yisrael make a living 40 years in the desert? Not only there was no university, and you didn't, you couldn't do anything with your degree. There was no retail, there was no computers, there was no real estate, there was no farmers, there was basically no way to make money in the desert. Since there was no way to make a living, Hashem took care of them. Who takes care of all the bachur haeshivot in the world? Who sits and learns from morning to night for years, and some of them have 10 children. Remember when I had a guest before I went to Israel from Jerusalem with 13 kids? Remember? I mentioned in one or two of my lectures that he's staying by my house, such a tzaddik. He had maybe 100,000 shekels debt. At that time, which is about $30,000, almost $30,000 debt. 13 kids, renting an apartment. They rent and loan 10,000 shekels in Jerusalem, $3,000 a month. How much the yeshiva pays him? 600 a month. From now it's all miracles, but after years he accumulates some debt. First time in his life he came to America. Doesn't speak English. They asked me, can you help him? Of course, I helped him. I gave him some names, I sent him to some people. He stayed by my house. He taught us what does it mean to be a happy person. That's not materialism doesn't make you happy. The happiness is the connection to Hashem with the pure heart. So what do you think happened? What happened? I didn't even do fundraising for him. I just spoke about him in my lecture and good people started to send me emails, "Can I help that tzaddik that's staying by you?" "Yes," this guy said. This one sent $1,000. This one sent $500. Then one guy came and said, "I would like to pay his rent for one year." Can you believe it? I say, sure, it's a lot of money. 10,000 shekels, whatever it is, $3,000. Yes. And most of the money already sent to him. Basically, in the 2 weeks he was here, he cleaned years of debt. Years of debt. When I went to Israel now, I wanted to go to pray in the Western Wall. But I do not go in public transportation. I can't tolerate the atmosphere over there. So I'm thinking to myself, what should I do? How would I go to the Kotel? There's no way to go with a car. Usually in the past, I had one rabbi who knows the guards. They let me in with the car. But they changed the guards. So I called him up, "Rabbi, do you think you can get us tomorrow afternoon to the Kotel?" "That's not the same guards. They changed the whole shift. I can't help." So 2 minutes later, this tzaddik called me, Rabbi Amrani, his name. "Oh, Manishma!" I was hoping to go to the Kotel tomorrow, but the connection I had probably is no longer in effect. Give me 20 minutes. You know how everyone knows everyone. Make a call and make a knot. Don't worry, meet me in this place in 1 hour. We can go. So I went there. He came with the bus. We went to the kotel, you know, the security, they let me in. First there is like a gate. When they see the plate number, it comes up, you go. But that's not enough. Then you have another security. Then you have the gate to go into the parking of the kotel. Once I got to the kotel, I found out all the guards are my baalei teshuvah. One by one. They all came, hugs, selfies, one filming me video. My wife supposed to give birth. I said, "I have to write down your name that from now on every time I come to the Kotel, I don't need brokers. Rabbi, you are my guest. Anytime you want, you just tell me, I bring you with the car all the way to the Kotel." Then they took me inside to the tunnel. They have new sections over there. And I want to recommend highly. You have to see it. It's gonna be unbelievable adventure. They have a place with the 3D glasses. You know these 3D glasses? Virtual visit to Beit HaMikdash. Real, 100%. You see the Kohanim, you see how Beit HaMikdash was, you see the glory. You see the people, you see how the Kohen pray, you see the Mizbeach, the altar, you see the Ketoret, you see, you mamash feel like you are walking inside Beit HaMikdash. They did such a job there. Probably took them so many years to design this. You see how much gold and what glory. You don't have one place in the world that is beautiful like this. Like what you're going to see there. And the Gemara actually says someone who did not see the glory of the Temple did not see glory in his entire life. How over 2,000 years ago they were able to build in unbelievable way like the way it was, it's hard to believe. Such glory. Remember, it was 1,000 times harder to build than today. You didn't have lift, you didn't have engines, you didn't have all the things that we have today— cars, trucks. Thousands of workers. You see the graphic, you see the design, you see the poles, you see Mamash de Leviim, how they stand on the ramp and how they sing the songs of the Beit HaMikdash. Just for that, it's worth to take a trip to Israel. And you go right away into the courtyard Portal tunnel, Western Wall tunnel under the ground. First place you go into that place, virtual Beit HaMikdash tour. It's only 10 minutes, 15 maybe. I don't know, it was so fun, maybe it was more. Worth every penny. First time, you can read 1,000 times in a Gemara or in books about Beit HaMikdash description how it was, but once you see the actual place in front of your eyes and you actually walking there because it's a 3D, you feel like you're one of the people there. It changed the entire way of your understanding about Beit Hamikdash. It's nothing— this is what we say, one picture equal like a thousand words. In this particular case, that video your word like a billion words. No exaggeration. So, Rabotai, we finish the parasha, but how can we finish without Amalek? And they complain and they complain, and what happened? They begin to fight with Moshe. Give us water again. Why you took us out of Egypt? Moshe said to Hashem, what can I do to this nation? Another minute and they're going to stone me to death. So Hashem said to Moshe, collect 70 elders and take the stick that you open the water with it. And then what? Hit the rock and let the nation drink. Complaints bring problems. Lack of unity brings problems. What are the problems? Walls. In modern days, the history of Israel, the last 75 years since we became a state, we have many walls. Mini wars and large wars. Who comes to fight us whenever we are weak spiritually? Amalek. Vayavo Amalek vayilachem Yisrael birefidim. Refidim, rafu yedem, atora. Refidim, rafu means weak. We became weak spiritually. Vayomer Moshe to Yehoshua, choose people that can go and fight. I'm going to climb on a mountain with the stick of Hashem in my hand. Yeshua collected army. The Israeli, the first Israeli army became an army in one day. In Israel, they, it took them 7 years to make the army the way it is. 7 years of work. In few hours, Yeshua Ben Nun choose guys. What do they know? They don't know how to fight. They just came out of Egypt. We're going to war against Amalek who comes with massive weapon, but we have one weapon that they don't have. It's Hashem. Moshe goes up to the mountain. When the hands of Moshe are up, the Jews are winning. When his hands get tired and he puts them down, the Amalek is winning. So Aaron and Hur Hur is his nephew, the son of Miriam, that they killed him in the golden calf because he refused to make the golden calf. So they went to Aaron. So Aaron and Hur are holding Moshe's hand up. What does it have to do with the war? Zero. Anyway, Hashem does everything. Hashem just want to show us, I fight the wars for you, my children. With all due respect to the Israeli Army, they do 1% and I do everything else. I let them do something. Without me, they can't move. Without me, Palestinians who barely know how to fight, they knock down the Twin Towers. I went to Florida and learned how to fly, and next day, you saw what happened. I do everything. You want to refuse to accept it, it's up to you. In the end, Rabotai, Hashem said that this nation has to be wiped out, Amalek. Macho im ched zecher Amalek. There will be a day that there will not be one Amalek left in the world. Until then, my chair will be incomplete. So what do we see? We learned a lot of different things today. Now, what caused the war? Lack of strength in our spirituality. Prostitution. Horrible education to the teenagers. Disagreement and racism and fights and baseless hatred, Chilul HaShabbat, gay parades, gay activity, all those things that Hashem hates so much. Once we fill up the bucket, it goes up, up, up, up, up. Before we all gonna die, there's gonna be a big war. War, the war brings the level down and and give us extra few years. And then another attack and another problem. I want to say to you, Rabbi Tye, the earthquake of today who killed tens of thousands of people could have been easily in Israel. Some of you, some of you are confident for whatever reason that it cannot happen to us. But I want to refresh your memory or fill you up with some knowledge. There were two massive earthquakes in Israel. Approximately every 100 years it strikes us in Israel. There was one in 1927. 7,000 people died. Why only 7,000? Because there were no tall buildings. Back then. So 100 years ago, it was all little houses. So the damage was not as big. Chas v'shalom, the same earthquake of 1927 will be today, will be over 100,000 dead. Same amount of earthquake, same level, same area. And there was one in 1837, also thousands of deaths. Thousands of dead, 1837. Now we are 100 years later. Now. And today the land in Israel shook twice. When it shook in Turkey and Syria, everyone in Israel felt it. In the north, in Bnei Brak. In Bnei Brak, people felt the ground shaking. You know, if you look at the entire world, earthquake that hits over here or 20 miles over there, it's nothing. The ratio is really nothing. The world is huge. If it will hit over here, 20 miles south, that would be right there in Haifa. Haifa, it's all tall buildings. You saw 3,000 buildings collapse in Turkey. They don't say the truth to the people because they don't want people to go into massive depression and people will start kill themselves. But one Turkish citizen say to someone I know today that there will be at least 100,000 dead. And that's not include all the wounded and people who lost their legs and lost their eyes and lost their hands and who knows what else. And that's not include all the loss of property. You know what it is, you're left with nothing. Millions of people left with no mattress, nothing to wear, not even toothbrush, nothing. It's a disaster, it's a Holocaust. It's a Holocaust that instead of the Nazis doing it, the nature did it. But you know, the nature is in the hand of Hashem, nothing can move the nature. If the world arrived to such a situation that HaKadosh Baruch Hu had to do such a thing, it just shows you how much judgment the world has. And any Jew who thinks that we don't deserve to get it, think a million times again. Because if you go in Tel Aviv and see what happened over there, I promise you that it's worse than some of the areas that were Rash today. The filthy, horrible, wicked, anti-God people of Tel Aviv. You see what kind of monsters living there. What hate they have to Torah and to religious people. How they behave. What racism. You cannot believe. You see hundreds of thousands of gays over there. All kinds of weirdos with all kinds of color hair and earrings everywhere and full of tattoos. You're not sure if there are people or lizards, some of them. You cannot even be there 5 minutes. If you're a righteous person, you cannot be there 5 minutes. Became worse than San Francisco. So what makes Hashem not giving us such a horrible disaster? One option is the Torah. There's so much Torah in Eretz Yisrael. Israel. Torah Magna Umatzlah. Torah is the best shield. But they hate the Torah. They want to destroy the Torah. They want no Torah. They fight to avoid Torah. Why they deserve that the Torah will save them? That's a question we have to ask Hashem. I am a rational person. Already 2 times Hashem wiped out cities in Israel in earthquakes. It happened. What makes you think it won't happen again? But this time, God forbid, if it happens, we will not be able to recuperate from it. They say today, the experts in Israel, those who check the ground all the time, seismologic movement, whatever their name is, that if, Chasvei Shalom, an earthquake like this would happen in Israel anywhere, minimum 100,000 people would die. Do you know what it means, 100,000 people? Do you know what it means? Who can bury 100,000 people? Who can rebuild thousands of buildings? Chas ve shalom, God forbid if something like this would happen, that means it's the end of us because our enemies will take advantage of the situation. That's it. We won't be able to fight them if we're going to have to take care of what's happening inside the country. What can prevent them from coming in? We won't be able to bury the dead and to fix the buildings and to put telephones back on and the networks and the electric and everything else. It's similar to what happened in Ukraine. The Russians are constantly bombing the electric power stations. 40% of the electric in Ukraine does not exist. So what did they do? They sent them 35 million light bulbs, LED. LED save 85% of electric. You see this light? These lights used to be regular lights. Now it's LED. You see, you have over 100 light bulbs over here, right? In these 3 chandeliers. 85% electric, it would be more if there would be not lead, multiplied by millions of people. That's to balance the electric in Ukraine because people freezing to death there. Snowing, freezing winter, no heat, no nothing. The Russians Don't care. They have only one thing in their mind— to torture these Ukrainians as much as possible. It's not just a war about territory. When you ask Putin, why you hate them so much? What's his answer? They are Nazis. That's his answer. They are Nazis. What makes them Nazis? They killed 2 million Jews. It's not a lie. They killed 2 million Jews. 2 million Jews the Ukrainians murdered. They stole tens of thousands of homes and Jewish stores and property. And the people who committed these crimes, Holocaust, everywhere in Ukraine you have their statue. Hamiletsky and all the others. They're still proud of them. Imagine you go to Berlin and you see everywhere you go statues of Hitler and Eichmann and all all these people. Streets named after them. That's a sign of regret? That you admiring these monsters? In Germany, you're not gonna find it. The government will not put any symbol of Nazis everywhere. They are ashamed of it. They apologize. They ask for forgiveness. They send money to Holocaust survivors. They do things. Not enough, of course, but they did at least something. In Ukraine, not one word of apology. The same thing that the Torah says that the nation of Egypt said to Pharaoh, "Don't you see problems? Don't you see that Egypt is destroyed? What else do you need to let the Jews go out?" Same thing you can say to Zelensky. Don't you see Ukraine is destroyed? How long you're gonna carry this war? They're not the proud— the proud Russians, they'll never go away until they put you on your knees. Even it'll take 5 more years. Putin, as long as he's alive, they will continue to get bombs on their head every minute. It's never gonna end. Smart person should know his limit. How much more we're gonna fight for our pride? In the meantime, who knows, hundreds of thousands of people died already. Trillions of trillions of dollars of property are destroyed. Almost no electric anywhere. All kinds of other diseases starting. And what happened? They worry their ego. Who's gonna say the last word? Ego. Same thing with Pharaoh. Egypt is destroyed. Moshe is telling him, tomorrow at midnight in every house of the year there will be a firstborn dying. And Pharaoh is a firstborn. And his ego does not let him say, okay, okay, I surrender. Don't kill anyone. Here, go today. Wait for tomorrow. When they begin to die, he ran with his pajama looking for Moshe. Where is Moshe? And the kids were making fun. He's over there, he's over there, he's over there. That's what the Midrash says. They drove him crazy. Imagine the king of Egypt running with pajama asking the kids, where is Moshe? Everybody send him to different direction, making fun of him. Think about it. When Hashem wants to bury someone, there's only one thing could have prevented it, is teshuvah. Real, but real one, repentance. You go with your ego, you go full force against Hashem, you pay the price. Sad, sad to see it. I would rather every wicked on earth, Jews and non-Jews, to repent that they shouldn't be punished. We're not looking for revenge. Even people that did horrible things to us, if they would repent and Hashem would accept the repentance, I will be the first one to be happy for them. I won't be disappointed. If Hashem thought that this nation who killed our fathers and tortured us and did horrible things to us, if Hashem thought that their repentance is sufficient enough, I'm the first one will bow down to it. I can go against Hashem's will, right or wrong? If I will continue to be angry at them, that means it's all ego. Leave your ego alone. Hashem thought it's good. Hashem said, that's it, no punishment for them. Nevuzardan murdered 20 million people, the right-hand man of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. What happened in the end? He repented and became a Jew. Converted to Judaism. They actually accepted him. Imagine. Imagine Hitler come before he shot himself in the head. He come to the bed-in of the rabbis. Rabbis, here I am. Don't get angry. Chatati aviti pashati. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for what I've done. I wish I can go back to the beginning of the war and change everything I've done. It's too late. Please accept me. I want to be a kosher Jew. The Rabbi said, you're out of your mind. You killed millions of our people. You come like this, 5 minutes, and you want to be Talmid Yeshivana? Yeah, yeah, I want to learn Gemara with you, Rabbi. I want to learn Mussar. I want to get fillin, mezuzot. Oh, which reminds me, I bought unbelievable fillin and mezuzot. Not to laugh, but take advantage on it. So imagine what Bedouin would accept him. Any Bedouin would accept Eichmann or Hitler or all these people? Apparently in the time of the Nevuzot, are done 2,600 years ago, they accepted it. They accepted it. Unbelievable. Just to show you the power of teshuvah. If Pharaoh would say, I'm sorry, here, take some money, let me make it up to you, you can go back to Goshen, go back to your homes, I'll pay you from now on every month compensation for what we have done. We're really ashamed for what we did. Forgive us, please. We were worried that you take over the country. I didn't know Hashem got so angry. Before blood in the Nile, before the frogs, before the 10 plagues, it could have ended. But he decided to go full force against— "Misa Hashem," he said to Moshe, "Who is Hashem that I should listen to him?" That's a very dangerous word. Who is Hashem? You will learn who is Hashem the hard way. Like they say in the Israeli army, maybe it also came from Russia, "Ma she lo ba derecharosh, ba derecharaglayim." Translation: What does not enter through the head, enter through the legs. It's not a Russian thing? How do you know? What, you were in the entire Russia to know? I want to tell you a story and we finish with a little smile. What does not come through the head comes through the legs. When I joined the army, the first month they send you to a place, they want to make you feel like you're nothing but a filth. That's the idea. You come as spoiled kid, you know, from the beach of Bat Yam, Tel Aviv, you know. Now you have hair. First day, going to the barber, "Shh, shave your head." People pay the barber, "Please have mercy on me." One barber, he cut half of the hair short and half he left long. So what is this? He didn't give me enough. Anyway, you know what a mental breakdown it is to join the army? They give you a blanket, wool, and they tell you shake it. Two people holding each corner, the four corners, two in each hand. You go like this, boom, and you know a cloud of dust, but you have no idea how much dust. You begin to sneeze, you cannot breathe, but you keep going and going and going 50 times and there's still dust coming out. And you have to sleep on this. And some of them have lice inside the wool. And then they go under your skin. And the bathroom, you have to walk at 2 AM after running all day into a place, there's a hole in the ground. You imagine the rest. So, you know, when you come from comfortable place, they put you over there, they have to break you mentally. Get rid of your ego first, then we'll teach you how to be a soldier. Since you still don't know, it takes a few days to realize that over here you better listen to the orders and don't play games. So me, the wise guy, I have a guy, he's my chief, my commander, but he's only 2 weeks— he joined the army 2 weeks before me. Think about it. He's there 2 weeks before I got there and he's already giving me orders. Meaning it's even making the ego suffer more. Who are you? We are the same age. Who do you think you are? He went through that 2 weeks ago. Now he's giving you the same nightmare. So he said to me, Mizrahi, you see the tree over there? There's a hill. 'You have to run in 60 seconds, pull few leaves and be here. 60 seconds, go!' Mr. Wise Guy is running lightly. 'Mizrachi, you're playing with fire.' He's gonna tell me what to do. You arrive at 72nd. Tov is full of ego. I'm full of ego. But he is the boss. What does it help you that you have ego if your boss also has ego? Who is going to say the last word? He. Tov Mizrahi did not learn that in Israeli army, what does not come through the head come through the legs. So tonight he's gonna run all night with a heavy walkie-talkie receiver on his back, which is about 20 kilos, break your back, with a big antenna. And all night you have to run. Why? Because you did not understand in one minute "Okay, now you're going to understand in 8 hours. After that, when you get an order, we will tell you 60 seconds, you'll be there in 40." That's also the same way by Hashem. First He expects you to get it through your head, to read the Torah, to see, to learn from other people's mistakes. And if it doesn't help, it gives you once or twice or 5, 6 times chances to get it through the head. Once you didn't get it through the head, you'll get it through the legs, meaning the hard way. How many of us learn things every day the hard way? How many problems we have every day in our life just because of this stubbornness and stupidity and ego? And laziness and whatever you want to call it, lack of faith. Don't we know we're gonna get it one way or the other? We're gonna get our punishment. We all know, but for some reason we're still brave enough to rebel against Hashem. It's unbelievable. The thieves, the lashon hara speakers, All kinds of people. How many gays know that the Torah gave death penalty to what they do every day? And a permanent cut for the soul. And what happened? They find excuses. What? How much more we gonna have to suffer until we get the point? How many people speak in a synagogue How many times they heard rabbis beg them to not talk in the middle of davening? It brings tragedies to the Jewish nation. The Satan comes and shows the goyim sit in the church like fish. "Yes, Father." Then he comes to the synagogue. People, beard, peyot. "Herring? You brought some—" Smaltz? Gefilter Fisch? Ah, very good. Who got elected? That's what's important now in the middle of Shabbat. Yitzchak Rara. What doesn't come through the head, comes through the legs. There's a big debate now in Israel if Israel should help Syria. Israel already sent medicine and blankets and stuff to Syria. It's a done deal. The Syrians did not want to accept Israelis on their land to come help like in Turkey. They're very good with helping because they didn't want the Arab world, you know, all the terrorists and Iran. So they only agreed to accept merchandise, meaning blankets and medicine and bandages and whatever they needed, needles. The question now, a country that helps Iran to establish terrorism in their land in order to wipe us out. They help Hamas, they help Hezbollah. Syria has one goal, to wipe us out, to kill all of us. Just like the Nazis. That's their ideology. So if it was up to them, in one second they will kill all of us. Do we have to run and save their life and help them? No. That's the question. Some say absolutely not. What are you, an idiot? People who declare that they want to kill you, you go and help them? Whenever— when Hashem helps you against them, you have to help them that they can go back on on their feet that they should kill you tomorrow? Doesn't make sense. Other people say, wait a minute, why should we be like them? We are not— we the Jews are not like this. We don't look to go after nations and kill them and torture them. That's not our nature. So maybe they will be embarrassed when they see that we came and gave them millions of dollars of help and whatever, and we offer them other things, that they will be embarrassed. In a normal world, this approach should have been very productive. But when it comes to these Arabs, because their goal in life— Hashem put them here to be guards on us, to torture us. Because of that, because it's not even in their hands, It's not in their hand. Whenever Hashem wants us to be punished, he sends them to shoot at us or to shoot rockets. We sometimes very angry at them. Do you know the 13-year-old kid that came and murdered 7 people on Motzai Shabbos? Do you know he's an Israeli citizen who learns in a school in East Jerusalem? He has Israeli ID. The school gets money from the Israeli Board of Education. And you know what they teach them in a class? All day, "Itbach el Yahud"—kill the Jews, kill the Jews, kill the Jews, kill the Jews. We must kill the Jews. We have to slaughter the Jews. We have to free the country. We pay them for this propaganda to kill us. One Arab parent told me, took his kid out of the school. And he sent a letter, today was published in Israel. He sent a letter to the Board of Education in Israel. How do you sponsor those Arab schools in East Jerusalem that all they do is call for your death? That's what they teach in the class. Imagine here in America, there is a neighborhood of Muslims, I don't know, in Chicago, in Jersey City, and there is a public school and the government pays for it and all day they say kill Americans, kill Americans, blow up Americans, prepare another September 11th and it goes out in the media. Imagine such a thing here in America. It's a place of Democrats and lefties. As dumb as they are, they're not gonna budget such a place. Now there is a new government. Let's see what they're going to do about it. If it was up to me, I would cut all the budget to those schools and close them one by one. Why? We need schools? Learn in a desert with your own money. I'm gonna pay you to teach your kids how to come and murder me? Well, you're out of your mind. That's reality in Israel. Same thing now. We have to run and help Syria. And when they go back on their feet a year or two from now, what we're going to get from there? More shipment of missiles from Iran, more threats to our life. And that's why a lot of Israelis are going out of their mind. What is the right thing to do according to the Torah? That's your homework for tomorrow. Besat Hashem, in Brooklyn, maybe I'll address this issue tomorrow. Any questions before we finish? What about help to Ukraine? Help to Ukraine? Obviously someone who murdered 2 million of our nation and never say a word of apology. They want to help. I read the news. Israel help Ukrainians Humanitarian help. But they didn't help them with weapons. Why? Because Israel is afraid to ruin the relationship with Putin. The relationship we have with Putin is very strange. On one hand, he helps Iran. He helps Assad. He helps all our enemies. Without him, they wouldn't be where they are. On the other hand, he's good with the Jews. He's letting Israel attack in Syria. It's like double-faced. So the question is, what's better? Better to tell him enough with your hypocrisy and get him angry and go in his blacklist? Or what is it our problem between Russia and Ukraine? Whatever Hashem wants, that's what's going to happen. We have to push our nose into their conflict? No, but do you— the European Union can go and buy? The European Union started to give them now tanks, I heard, meaning they're increasing their help. Why don't we have the United Nations? You have to understand Ukraine is not a part of NATO. Therefore, there's no obligation to join the war. You're not— there's a group, like coalition. If Ukraine— by the way, this was what started the war. Ukraine wanted to become a part of NATO. And Putin already saw, if they already join NATO, I will never be able to attack them because it's going to be a world war with nuclear. So let me kill them before they become a part of NATO. Of NATO. That's actually what brought their destruction. Are you such a fool? You see that they are against it and they threaten you to start a war against you and you know you don't have the power to fight such a strong country. What do you want to achieve by that? To destroy your entire country? Today, I'm sure if you ask all these Ukrainians today, Was it worth it to get Putin mad? Was it worth it? The Georgian, the Gruzhinim, the Georgian also tried something similar. What was that, 10 years ago? More? Huh? 2007. Wow, it's already 15 years ago. 3 days was enough for them to realize the mistake they did. Okay, okay, Putin, sorry, sorry. Please, please have mercy on us. We don't want ever to get you angry. It was over. He left them alone. Georgia, what did they think? That they can go into war with Russia? I don't know what to say. Look, I only know one thing. Everything that happens in the world, it's all the hand of Hashem. Wars, people dying, people getting injured, people losing their homes. And I want to wake up all the Jews that listens to these lectures. Tomorrow— today it's them, Chasvei Shalom, tomorrow it's us. Don't say, oh, by us we are protected, we are the children of Hashem. We are the children of Hashem, but he gave us the Holocaust, he gave us two destructions to the Temple, there were many pogroms, exiles, Spanish Inquisition, and two massive earthquakes in Israel who killed thousands of people because there were not that many people back then. Those earthquakes today would be minimum 100,000 dead and it, Chasvei Shalom, can happen every day. It's very close. They feel it. The specialists are warning about it. The government do not know what to do. How do you prepare a nation to an earthquake? How? You can prepare million blankets, you can prepare flashlights, Whatever you prepare, you know it's not going to be any help. You can maybe take 1% of the suffering, maximum. Buildings collapse like this. You know, most buildings in Israel are old. Most, they're still old from 60, 70, 80 years ago. Today they build buildings in a different way that it should be safer in a time of earthquake, whatever that means. But the old ones, one tiny shake of the ground, the building falls like cards. Just like you saw in Turkey, how these old buildings collapsed. I guess the way they make the new buildings is more elastic. Maybe the metal is more— I don't know, I'm not a builder, I don't know. There has to be something. They say that it's safer in the time of earthquake. Earthquake. Look, depends what kind of earthquake. If you have 7.8, nothing will help no matter how you build the buildings. If it will be 5, that— because sometimes you have cracks in the buildings. The building didn't collapse, but there are cracks on the side. That's it, you have to evict all the people. Building is finished. Where are they going to live now? They lost everything they have. That's one of the hardest punishments that we can get from Hashem. Let's hope and let's beg that he won't come, but we have to, we have to do everything we can, we, to prevent it. That Chas V'Shalom, if it happens, at least we get saved. People don't want to listen to us when we warn them about their behaving, about keeping Shabbat, about all these abominations. They don't want to hear. No, what can we do? We try, but at least Hashem won't be angry at us that we did that we didn't do kiruv, that we didn't sponsor kiruv, that we didn't do everything we can to save people. Because if we don't save them and we don't do anything to spread the Torah, we will be held guilty for their death as well. And we, chas v'shalom, can end exactly like their end. And that's what happened to a lot of religious people in the Holocaust. They were very righteous and they died in the end like all the wicked people. How come? How come righteous and wicked die the same way? Because the righteous did not do enough to save the wicked and make them righteous. And it was possible. They would talk to them and invite them and show them some good example. Maybe 10% of them wouldn't be wicked. When we die, there's one problem. The main problem is where we go. Remember, to die, it's a disaster. Nobody wants to die when a building falls on his head. But the question is where the soul is going to go. To heaven or to a different place? If he goes to heaven, no, nobody will miss his apartment. Not in Tel Aviv and not in Istanbul. But if a person goes to a worse place than where he was, not only lost everything he had in this world, lost his life, now he has to go and pay for all his sins. What kind of a solution is that? Therefore, we have to do everything we can to prevent such a thing. Thank you very much. Baruch Adonai lo olam amen.
