Veganism and it's overall health benefits... Ep 8

Radio interview (Conscious Intercourse on Power 108.9) featuring Armand Kadima and Ebony Emma Pill with guest Tassili (owner of Tassili’s Raw Reality). The conversation covers Tassili’s long-term vegan/raw-food journey, practical benefits of plant-based eating (energy, digestion, menstrual changes), warnings about over-reliance on starches, detox/hydration practices, social and political themes (food access, industry influence, chemical contaminants in water), and local outreach (restaurants, events). Tone is advocacy-oriented, experiential, and community-focused.

What's up? What's up? Hey. And we are back, y'. All. Conscious intercourse, power 108.9 here with Armand Kadima and myself, Ebony, Emma Pill. Yo, yo, what's up, y'? All? What' up? How's everybody doing? Hopefully everybody's in good. Great spirits. We have a dope show today.
Dope.
We got a dope show today. Y' all know, y' all know we always talking about, you know, this and that, conscious lifestyle, conscious living. Right? Conscious living. Aware, awakened awareness, awakening. This is an interesting week for me. I am starting my vegan journey. Yay. What? Yes, yes. I've been talking about it for a while. I have some influences, some, some, some stories that. That's influencing my decision to try this thing. I don't know if I've shared that. My mother passed away from cancer back in 2015 and we talked about that. We talked about, you know, me eating better. There's something, you know, you've mentioned it. Every time someone gets sick and you get in the hospital, one of the first things they do is put you on a vegan diet.
A plant based diet.
A plant based diet. So it should tell you something. So that resonates with me. And I' ma try this thing.
Yeah, it's a, it's a lifestyle. It's, you know, it's, you know, it's like that's what we all talk about as being conscious, being aware.
Right.
It's like you see things, you live life, you experience things. A lot of times most of us are just living, unfortunately, unconsciously.
Yeah.
Just running a Program that has been programmed within us through, you know, that's all we know. Religion, the hospitals, you know, the social system.
Yeah.
Conditioned to live and look at the world from a certain lens, and we subconsciously operate from that without even being conscious of what we actually are doing.
Right.
So we just do things, eat things, you know, without truly understanding why we're doing it.
It's just that this all we know. We like, well, my parents did it and their parents did it, so.
Exactly.
It's like, that's not, you know, that's not the best way to be. And it's like once you know better, you do better. Right?
Exactly. Exactly.
And we have someone here, we have an amazing guest today who can talk about their vegan journey. An amazing guest. She is on her conscious, living her conscious lifestyle in one of Atlanta's own vegan community pioneers and owner of Tassili's raw reality queen, Tassilimat. Wow. Peace, Queen.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Peace.
It's a pleasure to be here. Peace and love, everybody. How's the fam?
Right, right, man, this is. This is. This is great. We definitely love, love, love, love your food.
Thank you.
I said, okay, if I. If I can eat like this, I can probably do this. I am a big fan of your punani wrap.
Okay, now that's what's up.
I love the punani rap. I'm like, yo, this is good. I can do this.
It's flavorful. Yes. And do you want to know why we call it the Pune?
Yes, of course I want to know why. You know, I was going to go there, go there.
Let's just go right there. Show the top. Yes. You're known to bring everybody up to today.
Yes.
It is called the punani rap because, like, all good punani is hot and spicy, sweet, succulent and juicy, like every woman wants to be and like every man wants to experience. And it keeps you coming back for more.
Oh, wow.
See?
Wow. It gets no raw than that. Right?
I'm gonna tell you, you know, I. I've had some folks say, well, you know, what about the men who want to be into men? I said, listen, let me tell you something. I was in Whole Foods one day and two of my gay customers came up and they said, Ms. Tassili, we just want to thank you for all that you do, and we just want you to know that your punani is the only punani that we will ever eat. Yes, they did.
Oh, my God.
I just fell out laughing. They fell out laughing. You know, it was just Love. Wow.
You know, it is good, though.
It is good, though. Thanks. Yeah, y' all gotta come check it out. If you don't know, you better ask.
Yo and ask me. I will tell you. It is amazing. It is amazing. So how long have you been vegan?
I have been vegan for 36 years.
Okay.
Yeah. When I moved here to Atlanta, I became vegan in 88.
Okay.
And I was introduced to. To the raw vegan lifestyle back in 84, but I had been a vegan for 20 years before I became a raw foodist as well.
Okay.
So I've been doing that now for 15 years.
Wow, that is amazing. Well, I can see your skin is glowing.
Thank you.
You look amazing, so I know it's definitely benefiting you.
Thank you.
Have you noticed, I mean, a big difference once you. You decided to be vegan in your.
Absolutely. You know, I lost a lot of waste.
Okay.
My moon cycle became lighter. You know, I never was one to have cramping and all that kind of stuff anyway. But it went from seven days to five days, and it was much lighter.
Okay.
That was a blessing. I had more energy.
Yeah.
You know. Yeah.
Yeah. And that's. That's funny because that's one of the things that. That I want to improve is my energy, you know, not feeling so heavy when I wake up, you know, because I was like, I have a. I have a very busy lifestyle, and I don't want to feel lethargic throughout the day. Right.
You know, I have to warn you, though, and others who are embarking on a vegan journey and those who may have already started, you know, and the warning comes to encourage you to be balanced. Right. Because many people become vegan, but they just go heavy on the starch, you know, and they become starchitarians rather than vegans or vegetarian.
Okay. No, that's important to know.
Yeah. And that's what happened to me. After 20 years of being vegan. I had begun to wake up in the morning with achy fingers, crampy fingers. Now, I had been a loctician and a braider for years, so that's already gonna put strain on your hands, you know, your hands. So you really can't afford anything else. Anything that doesn't support your hand health. Right. And so I was sharing this with a friend of mine who is an md. He's a naturopath and also a raw foodist himself.
Okay.
And he said, well, Tassila, you're just eating too much starch. And I said, no, I'm not eating that many potatoes. I don't eat that much bread. I don't even eat hardly any rice, you know. And he said, look, I don't know what you're eating, but I know it's the starch.
Wow.
So I said, okay.
So.
Because I am, you know, a social scientist, if you will, okay. I said, well, let me go in the laboratory with myself. So I went a whole week without eating starches. And I found two things. One was that I was eating compound starches. You know, I would in the morning for breakfast, have, you know, granola or oatmeal, and I'd have that with, you know, some vegan meat supplement. Or I'd have rice milk or almond milk. I'd have nuts in it. I'd have bananas. I'd have wheat germ. You know, I was just going hard on the starches, okay?
And.
And then for lunch, I'd have, typically, some sort of sandwich, which is more bread, if it was a meat substitute, more starch. And then for dinner, I had the trusty vegan stir fry. You know, that's what most vegans go to, the stir fry, whether it's pasta or rice, some filling, quinoa, Right. Or couscous, you know, because we're looking for that bulk. Right?
Right.
So in and of themselves, those things are great.
Okay.
They're healthy.
Right.
You know, but when you're having them every day, several times a day, and not having enough fresh fruits and vegetables, not drinking enough water, all of that starch turns to paste. And that's what was happening. And it was sticking to my joints. And so I found that, yes, I had become a starchetarian. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that beets are starch, carrots or starch, you know, and, you know, everybody thinks about potatoes. Right, right. Those types of things.
Okay?
So, you know, I. I recognized that I wasn't being balanced. Okay. The other thing that I found to be true was that my doctor friend was right, because all the pain and stiffness went away and it's never returned.
Okay?
Okay. So, you know, the vibe that I encourage people to do is to just start to pay attention to how you feel when you eat certain foods and how you feel when you don't exactly, you know. Yeah. Pay attention to what you're thinking about when you're craving that red velvet cake. You know, did you just get a promotion on your job or did you just get fired?
Right.
It's emotional eating, tipping.
Right.
And so what's fueling you? And don't Judge yourself. Just start to learn. You knowledge of self is one of the most important things that you can embrace on your journey in life. Knowledge of self.
Absolutely. That is. That is profound. Absolutely. And I see, I'm like, I. I love me. You know, I don't. I like me a lot. I love.
It's okay to confess your love.
It's like, you know, Cheese.
Yeah.
I'm thinking of going without those things.
Like how. So I didn't stop eating meat because I didn't like it. I loved it. And I was an omnivore. I ate anything, you know, if it wasn't nailed down. I was trying. Really? Oh, my God, Yes.
Where are you from? So where are you from originally?
Houston.
Okay. Texas. Okay.
There you go. You know, and then I was raised in San Diego, so we had all kind of secrets. Seafood, you know, it was Mexican cuisine, a lot of Asian cuisine. So the soul food, the whole vibe. I loved to eat.
Foodie.
A foodie to my heart and soul. Right. But what happened for me was some friends of mine showed me what was being done to the animals.
Oh, yeah.
Okay. Yeah. And I had pets. And I couldn't imagine my pets being mistreated. Yeah. And so I became a vegetarian initially because I did not want to participate in harming animals. I didn't even know the. The biological benefits or spiritual benefits.
Right.
And later those things came as I became more knowledgeable, you know. But it was a real journey. Yeah. And again, I say to people all the time, you're the only one you're going to be with your whole life.
That's it.
So you better get to know you, learn every aspect of your being.
Yeah.
And that way you'll live a more fulfilled life. Yeah.
And you just can't trust the food that's out here. Oh, my God. What we do know is they're trying to reduce the population. Right.
How about that?
They're trying to kill us all. And what they're. What are they going after first?
In the water.
In the water. So we got to do better. Growing our own, having farms. We don't. We don't have enough. Yes. Of our people.
It's true.
Owning farms.
And do you know that there's legislation that says you can only grow a certain amount of food in your own yard?
Wow.
Right. They really, really, really trying to regulate everything. People under lock and key in terms of our growth. Yeah. And so our growth and. And sustainability. Now we can fight it. We can resist that.
Right.
You know, by making better choices.
Right.
And so I Always encourage people to choose life. It's real simple. Absolutely. Even if you don't want to be vegan, just choose life. So what does that look like? That looks like me. And maybe an orange instead of a bag of potato chips, you know, some grapes, you know, and if, you know, you are drinking and you used to drinking soda, well, that could be juice instead of soda or water instead of juice. And those things are not going to cost you more. In fact, they're going to cost you less.
Yeah.
You know, and I, I really encourage people to just focus on choosing life.
Yeah.
You do that, then you will be able to discern.
Yeah.
What's best for you, even if you don't necessarily want to be vegan or vegetarian.
Right, Right.
I love that, you know, choosing life.
Right.
Because ultimately we all love life, we all want to live long. I, I don't. I really meet people that do not want to live live long.
Yeah. Some of these, some of, some of the millennials and the, the children that have come thereafter, many of them are very suicidal, you know.
Yeah. But can that be attributed to how they've been brought into this world based on the consumption of food?
Absolutely.
Parents and things of that nature.
Right.
Absolutely. And the music and the chemtrails videos.
That's how.
Product, environment. Right. They're a product of their environment.
Right? Right.
Yeah.
And so they, many of them feel hopeless. They don't, they don't feel like they match or meet up, you know, to, to par. They don't feel like they're enough. And if they start taking drugs and, you know, whether they are prescription drugs or drugs on the street, it doesn't really matter because one is just legal and the other is illegal. But they're both destroying the person's psyche the majority of the time. There are instances where some medication can help. Some people can balance, you know, their, the chemicals in their body. They may not be disciplined enough to eat the proper foods. They may not have access to the proper foods. So I'm not completely anti Western medicine.
Right.
You know, I think again, it always for me goes back to b balance.
Right. People.
Because if a person's in a car accident, they do not need to go to the health food store. They need to go to the emergency room and get what Western medicine excels in, which is trauma medicine.
Right.
But if you have a cold, the flu, go to the health food store, get you some elderberry tea, some ginger, you know, some black seed oil, and build your immune system because that's what you're doing, empowering your body to take care of itself.
And that's what you need to do to fight off all these things that they're, you know, attacking us with.
Absolutely.
That's how you do it. Preventative measures.
Right. A friend of mine asked me the other day, you know, why I detoxed so much? I said, because I live in America. He said, yeah, but, you know, you're one of the cleanest people I know. You know, you just don't put anything in your body. You don't smoke, you don't drink. You know, you eat the best food, foods. And he said, and yet you're always detoxing. I said, yeah, and don't you take a shower every day?
Right. So how do you. How do you detox? What is your.
Well, first is drinking a lot of water is helpful.
Okay.
Because let's talk about just, you know, hygiene.
Right.
Hopefully you are taking a shower every day.
Hopefully. Right, hopefully.
And if not, at least washing in the places where it counts the most hot spots.
Right.
So pulani. But really, by the same token, you're not going to take a shower with orange juice.
Right.
Or a milkshake or a soda. You're going to use water. So we need to have an internal shower with water.
Right.
So it doesn't mean you can't have those other things, but minimize them. The body is made up of 98% water. And by nature, the nature of stress, whether you know you're under stress or not, living in a technological environment, the body is under stress. And so we become dehydrated without even knowing it. So it's very important to continue to hydrate yourself. So that's the first thing.
Okay.
Eating raw foods, a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, you know, that is going to act as a Brillo pad in your body, especially the fruits. The fruits cleanse.
Right.
And vegetables tend to build. And when you're eating raw, though, it's the going to scrub out your intestine, your colon. You know, people come to the restaurant and they're like, oh, my God, so much came out when I went to the bathroom and I'm like, yeah. Can you imagine all that stuff being stuck inside of you? Wow. Do you feel good when you're constipated? Do you feel good when you're bloated? No.
It's the worst feeling ever.
Exactly. So can you even be your best self when your body is under duress like that? Can you imagine being tried for murder and you're in court and the judge is constipated. They probably have a headache.
You probably listening to nothing you say.
But it's reality. It happens.
Absolutely. Because constipation is gonna start a headache.
Exactly.
You know, they probably have high blood pressure.
Yeah.
You know, and that's something because we. We talked about on the show last couple shows was trauma. Right. And you know, people never really think about food and how they eat as trauma. But think about it. You. You've been eating the. The worst food most your life.
Yes.
How do you heal from that? Because you have to. You.
You know, I'm glad you're going down that road because there's the argument that soul food has sustained us, so why don't we continue to go there? But just like the movie soul food, the very food that killed Big Mama was the food that brought them together continually and they continued to eat it.
Yes.
We as a people don't want to be accountable for our bs.
Right.
That's the bot. Okay. So during the times of enslavement, that's all we had. In fact, we really didn't have soul food. We had slop.
Correct.
And whatever massa left as crumbs off the table, Big Mama, Aunt Bessie, Uncle Joe had to make something out of nothing.
That's what we call soul food.
Right. So if they had the opportunity to get fresh herbs, they did, but. And back then, people didn't have to worry about the water being polluted or the air being polluted. At least they had that in their favor.
Right.
And the food was wholesome. Even if it was slop, it was still wholesome. Slop didn't have preservatives.
Right.
And all kind of stuff.
Yes.
The most important thing though, that happened back then was that the food was infused with love. Okay. Love went into it. It was sustained with love. Yeah. Correct. Okay. Yeah. But now people don't do that level of work. Most people don't. You barely get people to come to work, period.
Exactly, exactly.
They definitely are not sweating, you know, so, you know, the prison industrial complex handles most of the heavy labor, don't they? Yeah. Let's talk you. That's a whole nother conversation. Yeah. It's a thing though, where people are not eating based upon the lifestyle that they're living. So for example, what an 8 year old needs is very different than what an 18 year old needs.
Right.
Or that when a 28 year old needs, especially if it's a woman who's trying to bear children at 28, her. Her dietary needs are different than if she was A woman that ran cross country.
Definitely.
You know what I'm saying?
Absolutely.
You're 56 and you sit behind a desk. That's a very different nutritional need than the man or woman who's a mountain climber. You see what I'm saying? So it's important for us to respect the seasons and cycles that we find ourselves in, in. In our lives. Right. Honor that.
Yeah.
You know, don't just keep eating the same way because that's what you're used to.
Right.
And then again, you're not even getting to know you. That's why I said go circle back around to see how you feel when you don't eat certain things. See how you feel when you do. What are you thinking about? How are you feeling when you're craving the comfort food? You know, do you go and get some candy while you're watching TV and you like to watch Shoot Em ups all the time? Well, that's a stress reaction.
Wow.
You know, do you want to have crunch? Yeah, crunch is a great stress reliever.
I love me some crunch.
Most people want crunch. That's what calms babies though, when they're breastfeeding. That, that sucking and pulling on the back of their jaw. Wow. You know, so as an adult, it's the same sensation even though you're not sucking. It's that crunching, it's that motion that calms the nervous comforting. So most people. Because B vitamins are depleted when you're stressed.
Wow.
You crave foods that are high in B vitamins. Those are your starches. Even if your bread is fortified with niacin and.
Exactly.
Iron's not a B vitamin, but niacin is. And you know, so your cookies, all the. Anything made with flour.
Yeah.
That's going to have your B vitamins in it.
Okay.
You know, but most people are addicted to sugar and so yes, the sugar really hypes them up. It's a temporary fix for someone who is craving the sweetness of life.
Right, exactly.
Which we are going to do if we're under stress because we want relief.
Yes, yes, very true. That makes a lot of sense.
Wow. That's so powerful. It's like it's the little things that. It's not little, but these are things that we just don't even, don't even think about. We're not aware of.
Right. They are little, but they become big because we're not aware.
Exactly.
You know, and they lead to diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, heart disease. Rather.
We'Re unconsciously are choosing death. Right, right. In our ignorance.
Exactly.
So that's really why it's so important that we truly understand the importance of, you know, the choices of what we put into our bodies.
Absolutely.
Because. Yeah. Because ideally, you think about it, right? Tools promote any type of a lifestyle, Right. Any type of life. To perpetuate life just in general requires you adding some type of nutrients in your body.
Right.
It's the only thing we have to do to perpetuate life is eat and drink.
Right.
So we cannot ignore that there's some type of impact, substantial impact on your well being and your body when this is the only thing that we are.
Supposed to do to stay alive.
Stay alive. Right. And then to perpetuate the species, of course, to have sex. But if you're continually depleting yourself.
Exactly.
You know, then eventually you're going to have low sperm count. The woman is going to have all kind of issues with her cycle and ovulation and everything.
Everything.
Right. And so then you're talking about a lowered birth rate, which goes back to what you said earlier about genocide. Yeah. You know, let's just, let's be real.
It's biological and chemical warfare.
Yes, ma', am, it is. So that's why when my friend said, you know, why do you detox all the time? I said, I have to prepare my body temple to be protected.
Yes.
My auric field needs to be strong. Yes. You know, My electromagnetic energy feel. I need to be able to ward off negative, negative energy. If I feel it coming, I need to be able to dodge it, you know, confront it, whatever I'm being called to do. But to do it from a place of response and opposed to reaction. Because reaction, again is about a stress thing, that's about a survival mode as opposed to, you know, I'm thriving and let me see how I can circumvent this.
Exactly.
You know, in. Opposed to. Oh my God, fight or flight, you know, which of course ages us.
Yes.
Just always being in that mode. But a lot of this is easier said than done, you know, because homes are so broken nowadays and people are living under such duress.
Yeah, yeah.
It's more than a notion.
It is, it is.
And even if they want to do better, a lot of times if, depending on where they live, they can't even find the good food. Right. Real food.
Exactly. It's the fabric of this society.
Right.
It's. It's an intentional, systematic approach to keeping us unaware, you know, slumber. Exactly. Right. So, you know, ultimately, so your energy, so you release and relinquish Your. Your ability to be a sovereign, divine being.
Exactly. And let's just talk about that, because a lot of the food is designed to weaken testosterone. So men are not necessarily going to be strong and stand up to defend themselves or their families.
Indeed.
You know, and. And women are many times just over abundant in testosterone. Yeah. Themselves.
Correct.
You know, and so let's just talk about the water. Let's talk about xeno in the water.
Y'.
All, look that up. Don't take my word for it. Look up xeno and chemicals made from, you know, or derivatives made from the chemical xeno. Xeno is known to change the sex of.
Yeah.
In. In, well, the male species. Right. But in women too. Okay, okay. It's known to change the sex in reptiles, so people will say, oh, well, what does that have to do with humans? Well, family. In the first trimester of birth, we are reptilians. Okay. That third week.
Yes. I believe that, you know, we are.
Well, like I said, look, don't take.
My word for it. Right.
Do you know, profound this is.
You just brought up a thought, right. Because when we were in school and we learned about evolution, Right. It talked about how we were algae on the face of the water.
Right.
And I remember growing up with Christian churches or whatever, where that was considered blasphemous and say, oh, how do we come from, you know, how can we say we were an algae and evolved to this, you know, to this complex, you know, human being.
Right.
Then I think to myself, I'm like, isn't sperm floating?
How about that?
In the water? Isn't that an algae on some water? I'm like, literally, it's right there. Like, we. You come from an algae floating on some water. Literally.
Right, Right.
But it was.
And the base of the brain is. Is called the reptilian brain.
They're not teaching this in the school.
Of course not.
They not teaching this.
Of course not. Y. Because, see, if knowledge of self allow to then. Right. Be empowered.
Exactly.
And so when. When you consider people who say, well, I'm in this body, but I. I don't feel like a woman. I feel like a man trapped in this body, you know, Or I from birth, she is.
Well, I am.
And I'm not. I'm not condemning anyone. I'm getting ready to justify why they feel.
That's right. Please. They're right. That's right.
And they're right. Because of the xeno in the water.
Yes.
Okay.
Wow.
So they can help it. They've always. They may have always felt like this or that, you know, and they're, they're constantly in turmoil because their body externally is one thing, but internally is doing something else because of the chemical tampering with.
Wow.
And it's a real thing.
And like I said, let me not convince you. Let me invite you to do your own research. Just do your own research. You don't have to agree with me, in fact, challenge me. Do the research though first. Right. And then let's have a conversation because I'm not about guilt tripping anybody.
Yeah.
Knowledge of self.
Yeah.
If you have an understanding of why things are the way within you, then. Then you can work to find balance for yourself. Absolutely. Okay. Because they're herbs and things that can help to balance the hormones.
Right. Because they can easily argue like, then what are we supposed to do? If it's in our food, it's in our vegetation, you know, it's in the water. What are we supposed to do to combat this?
Seek balance.
Yes.
Choose life.
Yeah.
You know, if again, if, if all the men are into men and all the women are into women, how do we appropriate.
Exactly.
Because that's genocide.
Yes. And you know, that's their agenda.
Exactly. And so it's, it's bigger than all of us.
Absolutely.
And yet we don't have to play into the madness.
Yes.
You know, we can choose life. We can say, okay, well, it, the buck stops with me, so to speak. Yes. You know, I'm not going to pass on a generational curse.
Right.
You know, and, and, and when you consider how there is. There are so many chemicals in the food, the preservatives, and the adverse effect that the steroids, the adverse effect that it has on people, then is there any wonder why there is so much mental imbalance?
Yes.
Okay. Yes. And we talk about that, then we talk about violation because that goes back to then people who have been violated perpetuating violation. Because why hurt people? Hurt people.
That's right.
So I don't know why I did this.
Well, because it was done to you and you don't know no better.
Right. And, and your body's feeling like this when you want your body to feel like that.
Right.
But you can't even control it. Right.
So we have to spread the word that this is why we do. We use these platforms to do that.
Absolutely.
That's, that's all we can do. You know, we, we have to spread the word and pass it on to our younger generations. Because it's a big misconception that eating healthy is born, is boring or it's just not.
Or too expensive.
And it is expensive. That's not a misconception.
Let's delve into that. Right?
Yeah.
I've already given you all examples of how it isn't. If you're choosing an apple or an orange instead of a bag of potato chips.
Right. Okay.
Or juice instead of soda or water instead of juice. That's one example.
Right? Yes.
Now, when we consider that we consume so much garbage in general, you know, that we're eating dead calories. So of course we have to eat more of it because we're hungry. The body needs it. But if you had an actual meal that was nourishing you, you wouldn't want as much. That's one of the reasons why raw food as an alternative lifestyle, Even if it's 75 to 80%, is going to cause people to be more fulfilled with their energy. Yes. To lose waste and to remove a lot of the toxins out of their body. When you cook food inherently the way people cook food in America, at least 50 of the nutrition is cooked out of it.
Yes.
Yeah. So you have to eat twice as much to get the same amount of nutrition. When you eat raw food, such as the food that you eat in my restaurant. Shameless. You are full.
Yes.
Yes.
You feel energized.
So full.
You feel nourished. You want to do a happy dance.
Yes.
You know, love is the main ingredient. Right. So we do that. But also the testimony comes from just your body. How do you feel when you eat it?
Exactly.
Now, even though.
Okay, that punani wrap, though, you gotta have. You can't eat it all in one set. That's just too much.
But you could buy a half wrap.
Yeah, No, I would suggest buy a whole wrap.
Well, speak for yourself.
Right.
I like a lot of punani. Give me all the punani I could get.
And so, you know, we have the mandingo, too. Oh, I haven't tried the mandingo. It's five pounds of food. It's legit. Five pounds of food.
Okay.
And so the mandingo is similar to the punani, but just more of it. And they're few extra things like sliced almonds and hemp seed. And, you know, you want to just be able to just really take your time and enjoy it. So many people come and they'll split it.
Yeah.
Or some people take four days to eat it. Yeah. You know.
Yeah. I don't. I don't. Yeah. I don't want to share my mandingo. I don't. On that note, we gonna be back after this break.
Sam.

We gotta make a change. It's time for us as a people to start making some changes. Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live, and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see, the old way wasn't working, so it's on us to do what we got. Yeah, dad, right there.
We gotta make a change, right?
Man, Tupac was such a man.
It's like, such a prophet.
Such a young man. You know, he was, what, 25 years old when he transitioned. And for him to talk about, it's time for us to start making some changes, right? And he goes into. The first thing he talks about changing is how we eat. I'm like, what did this young man know about eating right? That it was so important for him to put it in on wax? A rapper, a gangster rapper, a thug life rapper.
Right.
To talk about changing streets from the streets, changing about how we. That was the first thing he said. Let's change the way we eat, the way we live, and the way we treat each other. He said the old way wasn't working, so it's on us to do what we got to do to survive. To survive, he said.
Being raised by Matilda Shakur. Indeed, you know, as his surrogate father, so to speak.
Yes.
Attila Shakur was, you know, vegan, and, you know, he was into acupuncture. That's why their community clinic was attacked by the government, because they were actually getting drug addicts off of heroin.
Wow.
They were healing people from their addictions and actually helping people to be well. Yes. And so back then and even now, you know, healers are being murdered, persecuted, persecuted, all of that.
These are the prophets.
We can even use the term Healer because of Dr. Sebi taking on the FDA when they came from.
Yeah.
You know, Dr. Sabi, one of his wives, actually advertised in the paper that they had a cure for aids. Yeah. And the FDA came for them like nobody's business.
Wow. Twice.
And Dr. Sabi won both times.
Wow.
He.
And it's incredible. They flooded the courtroom with people who had been healed by using food as medicine.
Wow.
Right.
Yes.
And that's one of our taglines. We use food as medicine. Medicine. Yes, it is. But the key to get People to eat it all the time is to make it delicious. It can't just be raised up right. You know, because even if it's good for you and it's nasty, ain't nobody.
Gonna eat that every day.
Right?
Right.
No, exactly. People are going to want to have the stuff that tastes good.
That tastes good.
Especially if your life is already hard and traumatic.
Yeah.
You want some comfort, you want some sweetness.
But it's a misconception that healthy food is not tasteful. Like it. There's really tasteful, healthy food.
It's true. It's got really good.
Know how to prepare it.
That's it.
You know, just know how to prepare it.
Because think about it. Would folks eat meat if it was raw or unseasoned? I mean. Okay, sushi or ceviche?
I was about to say I.
Or steak. Tata. Okay. But even though.
Yeah. You dip it in the sauce. Even now you dip some sauce, you don't just eat it raw, you know, you dip it with something. You have your company.
Yeah.
You don't. Nobody ever just goes in and said, just give me, you know, raw tuna. Nobody does that. You. You accompany it with vegetables, with some sauce or something, Right?
Yes, always. Exactly. It's a vibe, you know, you just have to be able to be unafraid with your seasonings.
Yes.
You know, and really, again, if you're eating live foods as much as possible, you're not going to be as hungry, which is going to cut back on your food bill. Now, it is expensive to be healthy, period. In America.
Yes.
Okay.
Why is that? Why is the health more expensive?
Yeah. Well, so you're gonna pay for it on the front end of the back.
It's like you putting all this GMO and all this food that we're like, we don't pay for that. Like, when you don't touch it, we got to pay more for the natural food, for the organic food that's just growing the way it's supposed to grow.
You know, that's. Again, that's genocide.
That's what I'm saying. That's like the first giveaway.
Pharmaceuticals work with most of the doctors. There are some really good doctors out there.
Yes.
You know, so I don't want to condemn them as a whole, but there are a lot of them that have bought wholeheartedly into their relationship with the pharmaceutical companies. And so it's a railroad. You know, it's. It's like the prison pipeline. You have the illness pipeline. Okay. And so you get people as kids, you feed them Sugar and preservatives and additives. And so now they're bouncing off the walls. They don't have recess. And so the parents get paid by the state to put the children on meds. So. So now it's business. Right?
Yeah.
Keep your child on riddling.
Yes.
Or Prozac.
Correct.
And now your child is growing up being accustomed to taking drugs. Correct. So by the time the child may be 8, 9, 10, depending on where they live, what they're exposed to, now they smoking, they're drinking, and they're finding.
Something to get to that numbness. Something to numb them.
Exactly. And so, you know, it, it becomes a thing. So by the, that time the body is starting to break down, by the time they're in their 20s. Right. 30s, you know, especially because those are the party years. Right. You know, the teen and the twenties, the party years and the thirties, you're starting to slow down a little bit, say, oh, wait, what, wait, what's going on?
Because you feel after eating all that bad food, I realize on you now.
You know, or men are having ed.
Yes.
How about that? Women having the fibroids, you know, they're trying to figure out what's going on. But again, it's what you're eating that's the biggest thing. But then if you're drinking and drugging, that's going to take its toll as well. Yeah. You know, so it is expensive to be healthy in America. You're going to pay for it on the front end or the back end? End. I always encourage people to consider investing on the front end. Just buy the best quality you can afford. Once upon a time, I couldn't afford organic food. Right. You know, but when I could, I would. When I could grow it, I did. When I could support other people who were growing it, I did. Yes, correct. You know, and as I could do better, I did better. Okay. Yes. So if you're investing in your family's health, you're creating a legacy of well being. Correct. And if you're not investing on the front end, then that means that you're going to break down, your family is going to break down. And now you're starting to pay for hospital bills, pharmaceuticals, doctor bills, all kinds of things that never had to be broken or ill to begin with.
Right.
And then all the debt, because it's like $10,000 to just spend the night in the hospital. And that's if you don't even get anything done.
Wow. You're just occupying a business, occupying a bed.
You know, if you get Something done, you might look come out of there owing $30,000 and you just went in there for a stomachache.
Yes.
Yeah.
You know, capitalism, you could have just went to CVS or had some charcoal.
Or had some baking soda.
Exactly.
But isn't it interesting how the insurance companies don't even support holistic healing.
Capitalistic system at its finest.
Like, if you say, no, I don't want to take no meds, I don't want to get any of that. I'll just heal holistic, Holistically, like, no, we're not. We're not supporting that because we're not.
Making any money from that.
Exactly.
Yeah, exactly.
There's no money.
And. And so, you know, once the people have gotten in all that debt, then they die. That's the legacy. Now they're leaving for their children. Absolutely. Debt.
Yeah. And not only that, can we. I know we don't have a lot of time left, but I want to touch on the subject of how your gut is your first brain. It's the original source of information is your gut. So when you think about what your gut is and what you put in it can actually impact how you feel and how you think.
Right.
Because it's like a direct channel between your gut, your heart, and your brain, but it starts in your gut, not the other way around. So can you touch up a little bit about that? Because it's like if you're not eating properly, you can't think properly, you can't feel properly or think rationally.
Exactly. Right. I often say to people, particularly police officers, first, as first responders in general, but especially police officers, when they come into the restaurant, I'm always happy to see them, and I encourage them because I say, you know, when you eat better, you feel better. When you feel better, you think better. When you think better, you make better choices. You make better choices, you improve the quality of life for yourself and everyone around you, and you can actually protect and serve.
Correct.
Okay. And so with that, you know, a lot of people are eating foods to feed parasites.
Okay?
Yes.
So one of the most common parasites is Candida, and it shows up in the form of thrush as babies, it shows up in the form as yeast. In women and men, it can be mucus, asthma, all kind of. If you do your research on Candida, it can mask itself as all kinds of things.
Correct?
Okay. All kinds of diseases. The main thing, though, it is a parasite. So it's going to feed off of the sugars. Then if you're eating meat, that, of course, most of the animals have parasites, even though they are still giving them antibiotics.
Yes.
Still many of the animals have parasites. If you're not washing your hands, not washing your food.
Right.
You know, then you're taking in more parasites. And these parasites want to live, everything wants to live. So they're not trying to leave.
Right.
So if they, all of a sudden, though, those parasites start kicking up and they're saying, go in the refrigerator, feed us.
And you're like, that sound good?
Yeah, let me go get some of that. And then you go get it and you wonder why you bloated. Well, if Candida is going to make you look pregnant, you know, but you'll have a food baby, you know, because of the yeast proliferating, just like the. Yeah. As the yeast rises, so does your belly. Yes. Now it may go down if you, you actually break your fast. If you actually fast. That's why it's said that it's better to not eat after sunset.
Right.
So that the body can honor its own natural digestive process and then actually break your fast in the new day.
Yeah.
Not just have a breakfast, but breaking your fast because typically you may have slept anywhere from six to, you know, eight hours.
Right.
And that's, you know, considered, you know, a form of intermittent fasting. So the body can heal itself if you've had enough water to drink. So what, you may have to wake up and go to the bathroom, but maybe.
Yeah.
You know, your body is getting a chance to rejuvenate itself.
Right.
You sleep and it needs the water.
To do get it out, get all the toxins out.
So we want to definitely thank you for your wisdom.
Thank you, Queen.
This was so profound.
Wish we had so much more time. Yes.
Right.
We might have to have her come back for another, for another conscious.
Thank you so, so much.
So tell the people where they could find. Because you share so much knowledge, so much information, where can people eat your food and find you?
Oh, yes, well, 1059 Ralph David Abernathy is the home of Tassili's Raw Reality Cafe. It's in the historic West End. And because I know that in. On the south side, really anything that's west and southwest of Decatur, the east side, it's difficult to find vegan breakfast. So I have a second restaurant called Unity and Coffee and that's at 640 Evans Street.
Okay.
And so we are opening up in stages, you know, and you can come and you can get a full on vegan breakfast, a brunch. And it's also an event space it's the place where the community gathers. And so for that raw food, though, you want to come to Tassili's Raw Reality. Although, my bad. We are also carrying, like, prepackaged wraps and.
Okay.
Foods at Unity and coffee.
Okay.
We've just expanded to Buckhead. What? Right. There is a new opening up on Bennett Street, 49 Bennett Street. It's called the Royal Chamber, and it's being run by the Pillars. They're thought leaders in our community. Blue pill and red pill. Okay. And we will have our grab and go items there.
Okay.
So, you know, folks can get us uptown. Check us out, you know, and so we're constantly growing, and. And we're looking forward to being able to nourish you. And I also want to say, save the dates. September 9th, 10th, and 11th, we're having our natural mystic fair.
Okay.
And this will be an opportunity to get more information to help you live a more fulfilling life in terms of. Of how you nourish yourself.
Yes.
With your food. As well as how you generate nourishment for others through your language. So our theme this year is what is your love language? The subtitle is the lexicon of a community. Because what do we pour into each other? Is it anger and hatred? Is it love and encouragement? Yes. You know what comes out of our mouth?
Yes.
So we talk about what we put in our mouth, what comes out of our mouth, and then what are we feeding the ears of our children, our family members, our friends, our community? So, yeah, September 7th and 8th. You can find us on IG Tassili's Raw. You can go to our website, Tassili's Raw. You can go to Unity and coffee. And if you want to get a little yoga in, we have the I am Ascension temple of Love, which is right above Tassilis Raw Reality Cafe.
I love it.
We got a whole lifestyle. We are a. I love it. Whole vibe.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Conscious Intercourse.
Yes. Check out Tassili's Raw Reality, y'.
All.
Thank you so much.
Get that punani or get that mandingo. You know, we got you. Get it, get it.
Take care.
